I'm on my second playthrough, and I love the head cannon that the saints are in a poly relationship.

“Johnny would kill the new saints”
that has got to be the most boring take you could make about characters that only ever attempted to kill one of their own after they were betrayed.
Literally the only time Johnny has ever tried to kill another saint is when he found out Troy was a cop and that's what got him arrested.
The OGs and the new blood would get along because they’re all Saints. The OGs find this timeline and are thrilled to find that the Saints exist in this universe.
Johnny & Asha would be teaching Eli how to shoot and Eli would be an enthusiastic student. Nervous, but enthusiastic.
Eli, Matt, and the Bosses would literally all LARP together. Matt would be thrilled to introduce Nightblade to this universe if it doesn't exist already.
Neenah would mention the Panteroes and how they fight and Johnny and OG!Boss would be up for the challenge. She'd be their wheel woman.
Kinzie would be all over Marshal tech cause not even STAG had what they got.
Kevin and Shaundi would definitely have a kinship since Kevin is like SR2 Shaundi and Shaundi would love being in an era where she wouldn't be slut-shamed. (she's never slut-shamed by the other saints but its the most reductive view folks who don't care about her character have of her)
They would all enjoy Kevin's cooking.
The war stories they'd share with each other???????
AND Snickerdoodle??????
She is getting so many treats and so much attention. Johnny would be her favorite out of everyone.
The OGs would LOVE Snickerdoodle. Like they even start talking about why they don't have an animal mascot before they started talking about the tiger.
The OGs and the new blood would 100% get along and you're not changing my mind.

The worst part is that Volition was on the edge of entering a new golden age. They were getting ready to completely stop with the Saints Row series and delve into new IPs and adventures. There were talks about reviving the Red Faction series too. Even had the original Red Faction's writer on board for this one.
And it looked so great for them too, with Gearbox's help that is. They pretty much cleared the studio of all the bad apples (the upper management that sabotaged Agents of Mayhem), had a lot of the old staff that worked on SR1 and SR2 brought back specifically for reboot that were ready to delve into new franchises too, upgraded several of its departments (they were supposed to finally get their own marketing department. There are people at Volition that got laid off that have worked less than 6 months there), didn't have to answer to crackheads from Deep Silver (check out flippy's latest video on more info about that), even had Randy Pitchford himself give Volition his stamp of approval because "Volition needs to be Volition to make good games".
They were actually getting ready to make a game they were truly passionate about, without any micromanagement from Deep Silver ruining it in order to keep it "market safe".
It sucks how now they'll never get that redemption arc. They'll never get a chance to make a game from start to end. Not even selling millions could've saved them.
