Agreed that fandoms get less lively once the show is over, but also perhaps sometimes people just need to look past old content creators that have moved on from their interests, and begin showing support to new folks that are still engaging with the media

Almost like dead fandoms don't happen when people move on, but when people refuse to acknowledge creators still here once the Big Blogs are gone

I think if certain people supposedly care so much about their 3-pages-long DNI list, maybe they should be more proactive in sticking to it. Always the same thing: people who want me dead for enjoying fiction are the ones interacting with me, because *they* can't be bothered to actually vet the people they're interacting with. They want others to respect their boundaries (which *I* do), but they themselves don't put a single ounce of effort into staying away from the things and people they supposedly hate so much. 🤷‍♂️

while watching olympic hurdles the other day, I suddenly remembered a hilarious video I saw posted here on tumblr, of a very different hurdler, that I now cannot find

I'm reasonably sure it was video from either a high school or college track meet, specifically a women's hurdles race, focusing in specifically on a young black woman who was blowing the rest of the field out of the water for speed, but her hurdles jumps were... um

so I am very much Not an athlete, but her hurdling technique was, going from the sour grapes commentary in the post and notes, somewhere between unorthodox and abysmal, but she was absolutely winning?

she was fully sprinting between the hurdles, but she'd shorten her stride and come nearly to a stop before each jump, popping over with all the grace of a baby deer, arms akimbo, then landing and hitting her stride pretty much immediately again

I consulted with a mutual to make sure I wasn't confabbing again, and we both remember it, but we also both have adhd and we don't remember when it crossed our respective dashes. she thought she reblogged it, but it didn't materialize when she checked her archive by post type.

I'm pretty gd sure I saved it in my drafts, but. well.

it took me a day and a half of scrolling to get to january of last year, so it goes to reason I saw it and saved it before then, but realistically it could have hit my dash at any time in the last four and a half years.

Every so often I see anons in mutuals’ inboxes not understanding the deal against empty blogs even if there’s an age, or about blogs that don’t reblog and it just reminds me of how quickly we forget and how quickly we cycle through toxic phases in this community. It's partially because it’s ever-growing with people from Reddit and Twitter and Wattpad writers and everyone else not listed.

It comes and goes in fucking waves so it’s easy to miss if you aren’t here for it, but every handful of months there’s some mass post going around where a writer has been informed of or found their writing (and others') stolen and reposted on another site (9 times out of 10 it’s Wattpad) with the poster taking credit. So often that account and plagiarizer is traced back to an empty blog that’s following all the blogs it stole from. Sometimes they’ll even leave a like that serves as a bookmark so they can come back and steal those words for fake internet points.

Like. For people who have been subjected to that kind of theft, there’s anxiety and distrust that remains. For people who watched it happen (especially time and again because it’s multiple times a year), there’s that voice in the back of their mind when they see someone with a blog that has a header of “Kayleigh (19) Just Reading!!” and nothing else.

And so either these anons who don’t understand why they can’t “lurk in peace” genuinely do not know about the cycle that happens here or they do not care for the people writing the stories and HCs and drabbles they passively enjoy.

Regardless, it only contributes to that growing feeling of being yet another source of quick and convenient consumption and not an actual person sharing their passion with people who might like it.

Anyway I've just had this idea floating around that, because Bubble is an ai used for information (there's quite a lot in that little brain!) that someone like Jax, if given the opportunity would use that to get info on Caine for drama or perhaps more nefarious reasons...

And while Bubble is loyal to Caine (he did make them after all) they don't exactly understand that just because you know something, doesn't mean you should tell. Can you blame them though? It's in their programming...

While I agree that nobody should be forced to write things they don't want, I disagree with the notion that NB/men that play this game should be "grateful for the MC being gender neutral". Like we're dogs and should be grateful by just being seen

GN/Men who play this game are as much the demographic as woman. Even If the game advertises itself as an "otome" (If OBM/NB really fits the label Is another whole discussion tbh), one of the biggest selling points Is that Obey Me MC Is non-gendered so everyone can play. Men/NB people are valid customers and are allowed to feel disapointed when the fandom excludes them

Like, If you don't like men/non-binary people having opinions in how the fandom treats them, just play one of the million otomes that have an exclusive female MC. Take your own advice.

I want a RWBY Volume 9 AU where everything is the same except they have social media, and somehow still get scroll signals in the Ever After because of some arbitrary magic shenanigans. So everyone in Vacuo at least knows RWBY+JN are still alive, but have no idea what's going on with them, and they're too mentally caught up in the Ever After shenanigans (or in Ruby's case her depression arc) to think to give context for all the patently batshit stuff they're posting about.
