𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: when you and ethan fall for each other, a new feeling that only can be described as snow on the beach emerges

𝐚/𝐧: i love lana and taylor so yk i had to fill this request! if you requested something earlier, i am working on it now! also this should be gender neutral, but its my first time writing for a gn reader so I might have messed up! 💗💕

you walked down the dimly lit street with your friends, while having an amazing time. however, something inside you still felt empty. you wanted someone you love you the way you had loved others. you had a couple partners in the past years, but most were hookup buddies or toxic, if we’re being honest.

unbeknownst to you, across the empty street, was a man who had been craving love, the same way you did. he walked behind his friends, who were in seemingly perfect relationships. his roommate chad was laughing with tara, while mindy was holding hands with anika. sam was absent from their meetup, probably with her boyfriend, danny.

as fate would have it, the two strangers would see each other again in the near future.

tara and you had met through a shared class, and quickly became good friends. one friday, during study period, she invited you to a frat party that she was attending with her friends later that night. you agreed, and soon you were laughing your asses off, half drunk, while walking to the house it was hosted at. 

chad had seen you around campus, and your kind-hearted personality and gorgeous looks made him think you and ethan were a perfect match. once he heard you were showing up to the party with tara, he knew he had to set you and ethan up. 

the two boys waited for you and tara’s arrival. chad had told ethan about you, and ethan immediately recognized your name. you were extremely intelligent, and he had plenty of classes with you. he doubted that you would even look his direction, but chad begged to differ. he spent the next few minutes hyping ethan up, until you arrived.

tara looked around the crowded rooms of the building, searching for her boyfriend. once she spotted him, she grabbed your wrist and dragged you with her. the house was filled with drunk, sweaty college students, and the aroma made you gag. 

“chad!” tara exclaimed, letting go of your hand to enthusiastically hug him. “this is my friend y/n!” 

you look at the boys, and are immediately caught off guard by the taller ones beauty. you quickly introduce yourself to them, before meeting eyes with ethan.

“ethan, right? i think we have econ together.” you say, eagerly awaiting his response. he was surprised you knew his name, let alone recognized him. 

“uh, yeah! i’m pretty sure i’ve seen you around the school before.” he nervously responds, fidgeting with his hands. 

“mhm! if im being honest, I literally have no clue what we’re doing in that class.” you reply, trying to start a conversation. chad and tara look at each other with a smile, knowing you and the boy would be getting along well.

“oh, i could totally help! not to flex, but im pretty good at econ. i could help tutor you or something, i mean maybe if you wanted to.” he offers, and you smile and agree. you exchange numbers and begin studying together every tuesday and thursday. 

after a few weeks of strictly schoolwork, you start to hang out together more, as friends instead of tutor and tutuee. it started off as going out with the group, but you slowly began spending one on one time with each other.

you were currently having your first sleepover together, as friends of course. you and him were attempting to make homemade cookies, and lets just say it wasn’t going well. 

“eth, how much sugar did you pour into the batter…?” you ask, noticing the extreme sweetness while tasting.

“I don’t know, like four cups? thats what you told me.” he continues mixing, unaware of the situation.

“ethan!! i said two cups you dipshit!!” you say, now laughing at his silly mistake.

“what?! you did not!! i mean, it cant taste that bad, right?” he dips his finger in the sugary substance, and immediately regrets tasting it. he starts laughing too, to the point of tears. it really wasn’t that funny, but seeing you laugh just made him fill with joy.

truth was, he was falling for you. and he had a sneaky suspicion that you felt the same. however, this state of your relationship was heavenly, and he wouldn’t dare to ruin anything by attaching a label. 

he had never fallen in love with a person who truly loved him back, so this was very new to him. it was an ethereal experience, and he lacked the words to describe it.

if he had to however, he would compare it to snow on the beach. god it was weird, and yet somehow so beautiful. it was like watching a romantic movie, and he was the star. 

little did he know, soon you would start dating, and this unique feeling would never go away. in other words, the snow on the beach never seemed to melt.

But most of all, it's just deeply poetic. There are so many staggeringly beautiful lines as Cas grapples with who he is and where he fits. It's just absolutely gorgeous.

This concept could be extremely angsty, and make no mistake it does have some, but its surprisingly soft. A chance to find each other again, to start back at the beginning for Dean, to fall in love.

I absolutely DO have a Mihawk playlist. I share the playlist construction with another creator on Tumblr who I love, cherish and adore: @sordidmusings. We add to it as we write, recommend songs as they come to us to help with words in works.

I am a violinist; have been playing for 25 years this year (I AM GETTING OLD, JEEPERS CREEPERS). Music is a great, passionate love affair for me and I adore learning about songs and pieces new and old. Steve Rogers x gn! reader (not dating though, they're...they were best friends), post Civil War.

[Warnings: angst (sort of unrequited love?), attempt at fluff (?), Hurt and not so much comfort, Sam is a good friend though.]

A/N: no prizes for guessing the reason behind the title. Also this is Stucky if you want it to be. Otherwise it isn't.

"You don't think he cares about you or me?"

"I never said that, Sam. It's just that..." You took a deep breath, "if you and Bucky both ended up in two separate situations where you both needed him, who do you think he'd reach first?" You stared at him, waiting for his answer, nodding and looking away when he remained silent.

"Y/N..." He started.

"He cares about us Sam. He really does care a lot. It's in his nature to care about people, that's what makes him so amazing." You sighed, wishing you felt differently about this. "It's just that...no matter what happens, Bucky knows perfectly well that Steve will always reach him when he needs help. You and me, we're another story. He will come for us, but only if and when he can. Bucky has the assurance of 'always'. We don't. We know deep down that if Bucky is in trouble, Steve will go to him first, and us second. We have to keep a backup for ourselves. Bucky will never need a backup."

A sudden realisation dawned upon him, and Sam watched you intently. He knew what was going on in your mind.

"I'm not mad at him for that, and I'm not jealous of Bucky. I swear I'm not." You continued, wrapping your hands around the coffee mug and shuffling closer to your best friend. "Steve and Bucky...they've known each other all their lives, they have a bond that runs deeper than that of lifelong friends. They're two halves of the same soul at this point. So I get it, all of it. I truly do. I just..." You drew in a shaky breath. "There's nothing to do about it really. It's good to prioritise people, else you'd be all over the place. Honestly, it's heartwarming too, watching the two of them with each other. I've never seen Steve smile more than he does around Bucky. So...it's okay. I'm okay. Or I will be. Whatever. It's fine."

Sam pulled you closer, wrapping an arm around your shoulders, then in his usual deadpan fashion, he dropped the bombshell.

"You love him."

You snapped your head up. "What-"

"We all love him, deeply. But you're in love with him."

Uh-oh.

You turned your gaze away from him, clenching your teeth to avoid crumbling. You knew he was right, but for the life of you, you couldn't accept it out loud. It would only hurt so much more. Sam, however, found all the answers he needed in your silence.

"I know what you're gonna say - I'm selfish, I'm crazy, and I'm overreacting. I understand that." You look down at your lap.

"Is that really what you think I was gonna say?"

"It's true, regardless."

"You know everything you're feeling is valid, right? You're not a bad person because of this."

"Still wish I didn't feel all of it. Sucks to have a heart."

"You should tell him."

"I can't."

"Not about Bucky. About you. He deserves to know."

"I can't tell him that either. Don't get me started on that conversation, please. I've had it with myself way too many times. Look, we're ex-Avengers, currently on the run. We have plenty of stuff to worry about, so this will fade. It only hurts this much right now."

Steve swallowed, trying to ease the tightness in his chest as he silently stood behind you two, listening to you talk. It all made sense now - you suddenly being short with him, refusing to let him come with you as you left for Budapest earlier that month, the cold shoulder you had been giving him all the time recently. He understood it all too well now; you were hurt. And you thought he might leave you alone to get to Bucky first.

Were you right though?

Steve used to pride himself on being dependable and loyal, but for the first time ever, he realised, much to his shock, that he couldn't answer that question with absolute honesty without knowing the reply would break your heart even further.

Uh-oh.

He sniffled, then cursed himself for it, because now you two were both looking back at him, Sam's expression being one of mild surprise and shit, and yours being that of pure shock.

"How long have you been standing there?" You asked, sharply, your voice hoarse.

"I'll give you two some space." Sam slid out of the vicinity quickly, his place now occupied by Steve's six-foot, two-hundred-pound frame.

"Look I'm sorry-" you stuttered out.

"If it's for pushing me away, then yes, you owe me an apology. Because that hurt." He said, doing his best to keep his tone level and calm.

"That...yes, that, and also-"

"Otherwise there's nothing to apologise for." He shot down whatever you were going to reply with.

You sat in awkward silence for a minute before he spoke up again, "Is it true, what Sam said?"

"Sam said a lot of things, Rogers." You said flatly.

"Do you love me?" He asked quietly.

You debated with yourself over the best way to respond to this, then shrugged nonchalantly. "No more than everyone else does."

That's a lie, even I can tell, Steve thought.

He patted your knee, making you look up at him, then stared deeply into your eyes. "Come here," he said softly, opening his arms.

You looked up at him with narrowed eyes, before giving in and letting him pull you into himself.

And that's when the dam broke.

"I'm so sorry," you whispered and he shook his head.

"Don't be, please, sweetheart."

"It's true," you croaked out in response to his earlier question, as you cried into his shirt. He rubbed your back slowly, resting his chin on top of your head while holding back his own tears.

The words were on the tip of his tongue. he was so ready and willing to say it and yet...it felt shallow when he said them aloud in his head. He didn't think telling you he felt the same would mean much in this moment. So he kept quiet, choosing to simply hold you instead, doing his best to physically comfort you.

Because as much as he hated to admit it...you were unfortunately right. Bucky was his number one, and even though you were an extremely close second...that's just it - you were, after all, second.

And no confession from him would take that away.

Ah yes! I am finally ready!

Cas's Review of TTPD that Two (2) People Asked For (so now you all get a fucking essay)

Literally, this is growing to be one of my favorite albums. Like...I appreciate Taylor most for her lyrics and I wrote down seven pages of them in my notebook of lyrics that fucking killed me. I feel like it's a more mature version of folklore, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

I really liked the promo for this album- the lyrics being spread, the phases of grief, the entire thing was so well-done. And the double album drop left me literally screaming.

I feel like the order of the songs on the album is also super well thought out. It really tells a story and I could feel her going through the phases, especially in the first half of the album.

I thought it was cool that she definitely took some risks in the album, but most of them landed 1000%. So many of the cool things done with the lyrics, melody, and tempo were amazing and kept me interested.

I'm gonna start by listing the more specific things I didn't like because there's only three:

In the song "Fresh Out The Slammer" during the outro, the change in beat was very jarring. I LOVED the rest of the song and it just ruined it for me

Florida!!! was...a choice. I get it. The concept of going away somewhere after a breakup to get over it is great. But Florida? Like...c'mon. Also "fuck me up Florida" made me cringe.

The line in "I Hate It Here" about racists...god, I have two minds about it. I don't think there was winning with that one, and I think people are going to tear her apart for it without taking it in context. Like when you take it in the bigger picture of the song, it makes sense. But when you take it in just the few lines...it feels a bit like it's trivializing the fact that literal slavery existed during that time? So yeah. I go back and forth...

And now a song ranking and my feelings about some of the songs:

Guilty As Sin? - This song has been in my head ever since I heard it. It's perfect, it's everything.

I Can Do It With a Broken Heart - This is giving DBATC (favorite taylor song) vibes and I am so in love. It destroyed me.

Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? - This is an ANTHEM. This will be screamed in the shower. This is so powerful.

But Daddy I Love Him - This was just so nostalgic. Like it gave Fearless Taylor and I loved it so much. Also the jumpscare fucking SHOOK me.

So Long, London - This was like a companion to You're Losing Me and god, it was amazingly hurtful.

loml - I just love slow, sad Taylor. and the twist at the end? ugh

I Hate It Here - Questionable line aside, this song was 15/10 relatable as a fanfic reader/writer

(I apologize in advance this is a bit lengthy, and will contain spoilers for those who haven’t read part 5 of The Princesses & The Playboy)

So I just read part 5, and I have to say, how you manage to leave me speechless after every chapter is one of the things I love about you and your work (I literally had to sit down and gather my thoughts before sending this lol). I’m always on the edge of my seat wanting to know more! I loved Dean’s talk with Eric and him being able to confide in Dean about his childhood a bit, genuinely Eric is such a good guy and he deserves so much happiness. I’m also very happy to see Y/N’s writing music again, even though what brought on her songwriting was less happy. I really liked Dean and Eric standing up for Y/N against her parents, even when Eric wasn’t supposed to interfere, her parents needed to hear that, hopefully it’s a wake up call for them. I’m glad that Y/N has Dean and Eric though, they are two people in her life who notice her strength but are able to protect her in times where she feels she can’t be that strong, and I’m relieved she wasn’t mad at them for defending her. Also the small mention of Eric going to therapy makes me extremely happy, I hope that he’s able to work everything out in time, not even just everything with Sloane, as much as Sleric is a big ship in my heart, I hope that Eric is also able to work things out outside of everything that went down between them and that he’s able to start moving forward in more aspects than just the relationship between him and Sloane, if that makes sense. Lastly, I cannot begin to express how excited I am to see where everything goes with Sam and Max’s plan, it’s starting to work and now they just have to wait. I’m so nervous for them, and actually on the edge of my seat, despite having a feeling they’ll both make it out okay (or hoping at least). Thank you for another amazing chapter!! 🥰

(Also one small side note, I feel like Eric’s physical appearance has been mentioned once or twice but I’m a little foggy with remembering it. So I was wondering when you write for him what do you imagine him to look like? I feel like I have a bit of an image of what he looks like in my head but I’d love to know what you envision as the creator!)

I love when I get to the part of the story where I can starting weaving the threads tighter and other things start becoming apparent. Dean and Eric's growing bromance is a favorite of mine, as is trying to get Eric and Sloane to actually talk to each other honestly but that's easier said than done! At least they're both taking baby steps in the right direction!

The reader needs someone to be her bad guy for her and it was so needed with her parents! Dean's really in tune with how things for him could have been much different if his family treated him the way they do reader. And yes she is writing again! Hopefully something happier too with some inspiration from a certain green eyed guy?

Oh man I can't wait to show you what happens with the plan! Everything's been building up to that party and it's going to explosive when we get there!

I didn't really give a lot of detail on the big guy huh apart from he's tall I think lol. Well if you've ever seen Friday Night Lights, the main actor that plays Coach Eric Taylor (cough cough) is probably a pretty good match for him!

You sat on zoom with kat ( this is before her and Sam broke up) and you were getting ready to send her a copy of the new song you wrote for her to listen to. ‘’ ok, so kat I am sending you a copy of the song right now and I want your honest opinion’’ you said to her. She smiled and you could tell she was excited. Katrina had no idea you and Colby were dating or that your new song was about her boyfriend's best friend. While the guys were currently filming a video in Tonopah , Nevada at the Mizpah Hotel Katrina decided to stay behind so when you wanted to let her listen to your new song she screamed. ‘’ so I am the first one to hear your song?!’’ she was so excited. ‘ yes you are! Okay I sent you the link’’ you told her. She clicked on it and the song started.

" That was amazing! The way you are telling that guy you would marry him with just paper rings. The chorus is amazing! i am just in shock like I want to hear more of it!" she said with excitement in her voice.

Sam, Colby, Nate and Seth just walked through the door and they heard you and kat talking. " dude, why is Katrina yelling so loud?" Sam asked there friends. They continued to listen on what she was saying and trying to figure out who she was talking to. They listened closely and looked at each other " she's talking to (y /n) ." Nate said looking at his friends. Colby's mind found its way thinking about you. No one knew you and Colby were dating not even your best friends. When he herd your voice it reminded him of that time you and him were in his car and driving and singing songs, or that one time it was raining and you and him were walking home and it started raining and he pulled you close and kissed you for the first time.

Sam knew something was up when he went to talk to him about the evidence and saw him zoning out. " Sam do you know what's up with him? " Seth said. " I've never seen him like this." Nate said. Sam got up and jumped on Colby and that got him out of his head. " what the hell Colby!? " Sam yelled. They looked at him and saw him blushing." why are you blushing dude?" Sam asked him." I'm not blushing dude, it's hot in here " he said walking away to the kitchen. They looked and saw the temperature was at 70 degrees and they looked at each other and shrugged.

It's been a couple weeks and Sam and Colby just got back from filming hell week. You knew they would be too tired to cook so you decided to bring them food. You walked to there door and knocked. Katrina opened the door and yelled and hugged you. The guys heard yelling and ran to the living room and saw you there and hugged you. " dude, I'm so excited to see you! How are you?" Colby smiling while looking at you."i missed you so much Colby you have no idea.i also brought food for you all and I got you all surprises!' you said. After everyone ate and they sat down you handed them there surprise. " wait. Are these tickets to your show?" Seth asked you. You nodded and smiled. Colby jumped up and hugged you and you wrapped your arms around his neck. He leaned forward and pressed his lips against yours, smiling and savoring this moment you all were having. " you have no idea how long I've been missing you and the way your lips tastes.’’ Colby said to you. "i think I have a pretty good idea now much you missed me by the videos and photos you sent me " you told him. He started to blush and you kissed his nose and smiling at him.

A few weeks go by and it was the day of the concert and you herd a knock against your door, your make-up artist went and opened the door and there was kat looking at you and you saw a tear coming from her eyes as she sees her best friend getting ready for her first concert. When the guys get there and they see you there mouths drop ( your outfit is what is pictured above ). When Colby sees you he smiles knowing they have no idea you and him are dating and now him seeing you dressed up he wouldn't lie if he wasn't getting turned on by seeing you in this outfit." well we are heading to our seats we will see you out there ". You smile at blow bliss at them.

" You all are in for it, this song has to be her best one yet. Plus the guy who it's about is in the crowd and we all want to know who it is " kat said. Colby just was smiling thinking about you, luckily no one was looking at him.

You take A deep breath before yelling " make some noise L.A." you yelled and hearing them scream for you. After singing cruel summer,i think he knows, afterglow your new song comes on. This song is about someone who is here and I love you " you say in the microphone.

The crowd was screaming and singing along and you could've swore you saw people crying which only made you want to cry. You could look at Colby and see how proud he was and him thinking of that day painting Sam's room and after painting it you both had some fun but you never told Sam.

‘’You guys you got to pay attention now !’’ kat yelled and looked Colby's way noticing how he was focused on you. She might be playing too much but she could swear this song was about him but she pushed that thought to the back of her mind and enjoyed the concert.

At the end of the song you saw people smiling, some were crying, you saw your best friends and the love of your life. All of them waved and you yelled " thank you L.A. For making the last stop on my tour amazing I will never forget it!’’ and with that your show ended.

You saw Sam and kat come running to you and hugged you telling you how proud they are of you, next you saw Nate and Seth hugging you and telling you now good you did. Then there was Colby who hugged you so tight he didn't care if he got sweat all over him. He looked at you " can I kiss you please " he asked you " you didn't have to ask my love " you told him while he pressed against yours and your friends looking at each other realizing what there seeing and who the song was about. Sam looked at you " what the hell dude! We never keep secrets from each other. And what did you guys do when painting my room?" he asked." were sorry for keeping our relationship a secret but we wanted to enjoy us. And Sam don't worry we cleaned up the mess " you told him. He looked like he saw a ghost." girl we are having a sleep over when you guys get done I want details on everything " kat said you laughed as they walked away. "i love you Colby " you said, "i love you too " he said as you all kissed

Choose Your Own Adventure

this intro is a LONG intro with details about the characters life, motives, and background. Explains why they are on a road trip and where they are going. So it is long but I wanted to write it as if its a book. if you don't like ti please give me feedback!

Taylor, Sam, Hazel, And Rowan were laying on the beach basking in the sun. It was a beautiful day, the day after graduation, the day that they were free from the shackles of high school. It had been tough their senior year, Taylor had broken up with their partner  whom they dated since the first day of freshman year. They had been a couple up until they graduated when their partner had a change of mind and wanted to be “free” for college. 

Sam, Hazel, and Rowan were right by Taylors side. They had spent hours cheering Taylor up, “They weren’t the one”, “They didn’t really love you”, “it was for the best”. Nothing seemed to cheer Taylor up.

Hazel wasn’t much better than Taylor. They had lost their mom in a car accident the first week of their senior year. It had been tough. Hazel kept it bottled up in order to keep the friend group cheerful and bright. Of course everyone took the time to cheer them up, offering up hugs and supplying the group with all you can eat chocolate. Chocolate solves any problem you have in life.

Rowan and Sam on the other hand had no major life events happen beside graduation. They had a pretty normal, if not mundane, senior year. Of course senior year is tough for anyone. Who has motivation to keep doing school work knowing you will be free in just a few short months. No one in the group had a particular plan in place as far as college. Their parents wanted to push them into college. Taylor’s parents wanted them to go to UCLA. Sams parents wanted them to go to NYU. Rowan’s parents wanted them to go to UT.

Hazel, on the other hand, was odd in the college conversation. Having lost their mom in a car accident had subdued their desire to go to college. Afterall, why would they go to college when every single milestone brought back memories of the past. The others in the group trying to raise their spirits were somewhat helpful but not really. They would brighten up around the group but as soon as they were alone they would cry. Losing your mother was going to be a lifelong battle for Hazel.

The group sat on the beach, salty air blowing into their face. Seagulls squawked in the air waiting for the right time to snag some food from an unsuspecting beach goers hand. They were silent, just enjoying the moment, absorbing the wonderful sun under their freshly graduated selves. 

Suddenly Taylor blurted out, “how about a road trip?’ the three looked at her confused but interested. Taylor went on saying “Look I just broke up with the person of my dreams, Hazel lost the most important member of her family, and you two…” Taylor paused for a second resting their hand on their cheek then continued, “you two need to go on an adventure as well. You both need a reward for graduating and then me and Hazel just need some time to recover.” Hazel was silent, they weren’t sure how a road trip would cheer them up, but hey, give it a shot. Nothing could be any worse than going home to a house with no mom in it. Sam and Rowan agreed instantly! A road trip would be amazing.

Taylor’s mom let them borrow the car for a trip. The group spent hours trying to find out where to go. After awhile they made a plan. They were going to go from their coastal town Lawrence to the forested state park in Lebanon. They packed up and set out for their adventure.

They were a couple dozen miles into the trip when they needed to stop for gas and have  a bathroom break. While they were there Taylor looked at their  phone and saw some fun events to go to. The event choices were:

A dog agility competition a few miles away north in a town called pawsville

A natural history museum a few miles to the east in a town called Earthville, which would cause them to back track a bit.

They could keep driving for a bit and stop at this nice restaurant that was being advertised called Mama Suedes BBQ in Brisketville which was directly to the west in the direction they were headed.
