ok so I saw your first fictional crush was my beloved akito hayame and gosh it's such a throw back and I have a small request, when you can please write a one shot of akito and Sana, it could be anything. A missing scene from one of the episode, a date scene, since we never really got that, or a future shot ( speaking of did you know there was a one shot of them in the future married I felt really bad for the 2ml tho in that one- it's called:deep blue- it combines 2 of the author's original works)

Side note: for a supposed kids show they delt with some pretty heavy stuff, like child neglect, verbal abuse, adoption, and the odd relationship between Sansa I mean sana with older guys not to mention the whole entertainment industry while growing up. 😅 I had no idea you watched anime as a kid, watched any now?

I watched anime as a kid, tho lately I’ve not been watching any.

Also, yes, for being a kid’s show and manga it was pretty heavily layered and dealt in a simple yet cutting way with many difficult topics. Children neglect, depression, suicidal tendencies, verbal abuse, adoption, the weird relationship between Sana and older people in general, Sana’s mother relationship with her gambling ex husband and coping mechanisms…

It was pretty layered and heavy for an anime and manga (because I’ve read the manga too, more times than I’d care to admit) named after “the children’s toy”.

The scene in which Sana and Hayama freshly recovered from their last step close to death at the end of the anime, when they stand up for each other before the teachers and Sana tells them they should take more care of the world they live in and their children because it’s what will be left behind to their children to care for at their own time and how adults should be the one guiding to a better path instead of a worse one to deal with the hurt they blame others for… it was really a heavy blow. And just cuttingly real. That adults should be the one they go to for comfort and not the one from which to defend themselves… I admit it still is pretty cutting in so many ways.

To this day I still feel it’s a bit like the Little Prince. The more you grow up, the more you understand it fully.

Writing something for them? I actually might… and since we know being fans that one day is very important to them, as they use it to celebrate both their birthdays… look out for my work with them on the 24th of December 😉

Ahhh… now for that trip down the memory lane… how can one not have a crush on the boy? I mean little criminal, heart of gold, steadfast in his crush and also forward in his affection, sassy and supporting (attentive enough to be the only one noticing Sana’s mood swings and why?)

I mean look at that gaze… I dare you to try and hurt his girl.

Hello.... If you don't mind me asking, who are your favorite romantic relationship's couples in books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series (can be canon or non-canon)? Feel free if you want to write the reasons or not of why you love them...Thanks if you want to answer....

That is a very broad ask and I am very bad at lists so I will only speaks of ships that I think have some formative long lasting impact for me.

Lizzie and Gordo were my first live action ship.

My very first ship was from an anime, Their og names were Sana and Akito from Kodomo No Omocha. I knew it as Rossana (Italian name). This ships was my childhood!! When I was a baby that was basically the age of the actual characters. There are a few other anime with ships that got me, like Card Captor Sakura and Tokyo Mew Mew.

Buffy x Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer

There are a couple of misc Disney/Nick and Italian Shows ships that I loved but I wouldn't consider formative. Except for Logan and Quinn from s4 of Zoey 101. Unfortunatly the author that must no longer be named is in this as well. Originally Ron and Hermione then Draco and Harry later. There is also a few that I think are too obsocure like Wicked Sciene (Toby and Elisabeth) and Wildfire (Chris and Junior) or the Sleepover Club (Frankie and Mattew for s1 and Charlie and Jason for s2).

Veronica and Logan from Veronica Mars - They were everything to me, I remain devasted about the so called s4, I have not been able to watch this show again since I saw s4.

Set and Summer from the OC (don't judge too much I was a teenager)

Lovely Complex was also an anime I loved

And Toradora

Enjolras and Grantire (frist MLM ship I started reading fics for)

GMW Farkle and Riley + Styles and Lydia and Stranger Things (though I never shipped byler nothing against the ship I just don't see it) -> The first two fandoms that brought me on tumblr.

From early tumblr years we also have:

Star Wars, Rogue One in specific. And Still Star Crossed which I will stay mad that they cancelled!!!! Benvolio and Rosaline were such a great ship.

There are obviously many many more. But these are the ones that I think made more of an impact. I used to be the kind of person that likes canon ships, and took me a while to understand non canon shipping and get on board with non-canon shipping. I was mostly over it by the time I got too tumblr. But it took a while longer, when I start to get into queer ships, that I started to see the appeal. I hesitated with queer ships at first because it didn't feel like I should be shipping that, since I thought I was straight at the time. So I was a late bloomer in terms of non-canon ships and queer ships.

Then of course there is the BL era (which I am still on) which honestly should be a list of it's own, there is way too many. But I have to shout out the very first BL ships I had, which are the ones that made me fall in love with the genre

And shout out to this nice anime movie (I started watching Yaoi before we really had that many live action, but I kept finding list with raccomendation with problematic contents, which I am more ok with now but at the time it turned me off so this movie was a nice little change): Doukyuusei

My favorite ships dynamics are friend to lovers, enemies to lovers, enemies to friends to lovers; Or anything that involves two characters having a deep bond/connection (rival, friends, bodyguard, savior, soulmate) before they start dating.

3 Ships You Like: Way too many ships to choose from. I am going to narrow it down to ships I have re-read fics for recently: Ai Di x Chen Yi from Kiseki: Dear to me; Mangkorn x Yai from Big Dragon; The two love in the air couples as a polycule.

First Ship Ever: Sana and Akito from Kodomo No Omacha, I was obsessed with this anime when I was little. I can still use the italian theme song of this anime as an instant nostaligia fuel pick me up.

Last Song You Heard:

I heard this song watching a video retrospective of on The Originals the Vampire Diaries Spinoff (a show I never watched) but the song and the scene it was in slapped.

Favorite Childhood Book: the OG english title is called Devil's Footsteps. It's similar to IT but just the children part and a lot less children. I used to love this book

Currently Reading: Nothing, all my books are put away (because we are waiting to hear to get a new house and so half of our stuff as been ready for months). So for now just fanfiction.

Currently watching: Pretty much just BLs. I am going to binge Young Royals S3 when it's done and watch the new season of Interview With The Vampire when that starts to air this month i think? but for now just BLs.

Anime OTP Challenge

KODOCHA - Akito Hayama and Sana Kurata

Since this IS an art blog, figured I’d expand a little. Don’t worry, I have plenty of RWBY art still to give you all and STRQ is still my main obsession!

Some of you seemed curious about my previous interests beyond RWBY. Well, while I was never in any ‘fandom’ at the time (there wasn’t even such a thing as ‘Tumblr’ or even ‘Youtube’ when I watched some of these shows and shipped the relationships I did), I did watch anime and read manga as if there was no tomorrow all through my childhood. As such, I’ve gained a vast knowledge of 80′s anime/manga all through what we have today!

So, why not share my OTP’s with you all? Once a week, you’ll see a couple that I ship and maybe introduce you to an anime you’ve yet to see.

Here we have one of my first OTP’s, Sana and Akito from KoDoCha! 

They were such screwed up little kids, both affected by their environment and upbringing, but nothing was unbelievable about their childhoods. The show tackled real issues that kids face every day, including adoption, divorce, and how a broken home can foster a violent school bully. The show was very aware that children are not stupid and witness what adults do and how they feel about said adults putting them into compromising and shitty situations.

It was also super silly and heartwarming, too. Just a good mix of feels and happy times.
