Mein A/B/O-Arrowverse-AU-Verse:

Diese Serie von mir rekonstruiert das gesammte Arrowverse in einem Alpha/Beta/Omega-Setting. Sie geht gegen Ende der 6. Staffel von "Arrow", der 4. von "The Flash" sowie der jeweils 3. von "Legends of Tomorrow" und "Supergirl" zunehmend AU. "Batwoman" ist inkludiert, allerdings nur die erste Staffel und da auch schon von Anfang sehr anders als im Canon.

Diese Fics wurden zwischen 2017 und 2019 geschrieben, wobei die eigentliche Hauptstory zwischen 2017 und 2018 entstand. Spätere Einträge spielen zwischen den Ereignissen der vorher geposteten Fics. Prinzipiell geht dieses Verse mit dem Ende der 2017/18er Seasons vollkommen AU, daher werden später eingeführte Ereignisse, Charaktere und Ships nur am Rande benahdelt und eingebaut, und in diesen Fic finden sich nur Dinge die vor „Crisis on Infinite Earths“ passiert sind.

Prinzipiell bin ich der Meinung, dass es heute trotzdem noch gut stand hält, wobei der auffälligste Unterschied zum Canon die Tatsache ist, dass fast alles geschrieben wurde bevor Nia aktive Kräfte für den Kampfeinsatz besaß, weswegen sie im Kampf die gleichen Kräfte wie Dream Girl in den Comics verwendet und nicht ihre Canon-Traum-Energie Strahlen und Peitschen. Und natürlich sind die End-Game Pairings andere.

Inzwischen noch witziger ist was alles in meinem Fics passiert ist, bevor es im Canon ebenfalls passiert ist (wie etwa, das Clois-Baby, dass Lena Lex erschießt, Johns Lungenkrebs Storyline, dass Eddie zurückkommt, der Ausflug in die Speed Force während er großen Krise etc) und wie anders manches bei mir ist was der Canon absolut vergessen hat mir aber doch wichtig erschienen ist.

Chronologisch gesehen beginnen wir mit der Kindheit verschiedenster Charaktere und enden mit einer Szene im Jahr 1992, die alles abschließt. Handlungstechnisch enden wir aber im Jahr 2028.

Im Gegensatz zum Canon kriegen hier alle Serien - „Arrow“, „The Flash“, „Supergirl“, „Legends of Tomorrow“ und irgendwie sogar „Batwoman“ - ein Ende und jeder Charakter bekommt eine mehr oder weniger zu Ende erzählte Geschichte. Obwohl die letzte Fic das Ende von „Legends of Tomorrow“ darstellt, gibt es darin trotzdem Gastauftritte von diversen anderen Charakteren, die auf Erde-1 leben (es gibt keine Erdverchmelzung in meiner Version), und wir lernen etwa das zweite West-Allen-Triaden-Kind kennen, weil ich ja im Gegensatz zu Eric Wallace der Meinung bin, dass eine Franchise auch also solche beendet werden sollte.

Da dieses Universum zur Zeit der 2. Staffel von „Legends of Tomorrow“ und „Supergirl“ begonnen hat, sind die Endgame-Pairings entsprechend. Manche Fans werden hier also nicht glücklich werden, aber immerhin gibt es hier im Gegensatz zum Canon ein Ende für alle. Und auch wenn es manche Charaktere aus späteren Staffeln nicht gibt, gibt es trotzdem Happy Ends für andere. So findet Ava letztlich mit Caitlin ihr Glück, Nora wird als Single glücklich etc.

Charaktere, die im Canon gestorben sind, haben hier überlebt. Charaktere, die tot geblieben sind, sind hier zurück gekommen, Charaktere, die im Canon zurück gekommen sind, blieben hier tot, aber am Ende würde ich sagen, dass dieses Universum für mich selbst die befriedigendere Version des Arrowversums war, als der Canon, alleine eben deswegen weil es hier ein Ende für alle gibt und viele der problemtatischen Dinge Post-Crisis nie passiert sind und daher nie zum Problem wurden.

37.  Sanvers

Since it was not endgame people tend to overlook is nowadayy, but back when Sanvers first happened the love story between Alex Danvers and Maggie Sawyer was a very big thing. And it still is today. Yes, in the end Alex ended up with someone, who was less complicated and had more simelear interests and ideas about their future, but Maggie was her first love, someone she met late in her life and made her self-actualize, and someone, who could could become the best version of herself and make peace with her past because of the relationship with her as well. Sanvers might not have ended up together, but they sure as hell inspired each other to become better versions of themselves, and even more important they inspired their audience to be brave and open about who they were.

This made me sad but then it made me happy. I went through multiple ideas before settled on this one.

Maggie’s not sure what she’s more surprised about, Alex’s words, the fact that she’s in Gotham, or the fact that she hasn’t seen her ex in four months and that’s the first thing she says.

“Alex?” Maggie asks, trying desperately not to cry. She’d been doing so well, she only spent about three quarters of her time thinking about Alex now. This is going to set her back though. “What are you doing here?”

“I’m so sorry,” Alex says, tears in her eyes. Maggie has to remember that she’s not allowed to reach out and hold her now. “I’m so so sorry. I made a mistake, I should never have let you go. I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am.”

“Alex,” Maggie sighs. “We’ve been through this, you want kids, and I don’t. We tried, and things just didn’t work out, we both need to move on.” Maggie has been trying for months and moving on is not working, but she at least wants Alex to, wants her to find happiness again.

Alex shakes her head. “I was wrong. Yes, I want kids, but I don’t need them.” Her hands move, like she’s going to reach out, but she drops them again. “I need you, you’re all I’ve ever needed, and the biggest mistake of my life was letting you go.”

Alex’s voice breaks on a sob, there are tears in Maggie’s eyes now too.

“You don’t need to say anything right now, or ever, I could leave and you never have to see me again, but I want you to know that I want this, I want us, if that’s something you still want to, if you could ever forgive me for what I did.”

“Alex,” Maggie chokes. God, she still wants her too.

“I love you, and I’ll wait for you as long as you want me to.”

It takes a while. They start talking again, Maggie gets her old job back and moves back to National City. They start spending more time together, movie nights, morning runs and coffee breaks during the day. They laugh and drink and play pool and Maggie feels her heart mending itself, every moment she’s with Alex, every moment she sees that Alex wants her too.

They get back to the friends they were at the beginning, comfortable and close.

And then Maggie kisses Alex.

There’s nothing particularly special about the day or the time, she’s just missed Alex so much, she’s missed her touch and her lips and her heart.

She’s missed the way Alex tangles her fingers in her hair.

Missed the way she laughs at her stupid jokes.

Missed the way she wears her heart on her sleeve around her, eyes soft and warm and smile so inviting that Maggie just had to kiss her, was tired of fighting it anymore.

Alex kisses her back just as fiercely, like she’s missed this just as much.

Maggie knows she has.

They’re not exactly back to where they were yet, but they’re getting there.

And they will get there, it’ll just take a little more time, together.

Chapter 10

Alex’s concussion is long since healed. She’s been out on rotation to the desert base for the last six weeks, and she’s even been bunking out there. J’onn is clearly preparing her to take over as Director when he doesn’t want to do it anymore, so he’s rotating her through all his duties. It’s sweet, and such a vote of confidence, but the timing is rough.

Alex wants to spend more time with Kara. To be back in her apartment.

To see Maggie in person.

They’ve been texting sometimes, but it hasn’t been much. Maybe a few times a week. It hasn’t been serious and it hasn’t felt like anything except killing time until Alex is back in town.

Alex has two advanced degrees in the type of science that requires vigorous thought and deep investigation into ideas and guesses, but she’s never thought about anything as hard as she has game, set, match.

Game, set, match. It means it’s over, right? It means someone has won. It means whatever battle is being fought can be laid to rest. Both parties can come forward now, wiping their sweaty palms off on their skirts before shaking hands amicably and parting ways, heading to their separate locker rooms. One elated, one eviscerated, both exhausted.

Does it mean that Alex has won? That Maggie wants her? Does it mean that the fight has been for Maggie to stop hating Alex, to want Alex, and Alex has won?

Or does it mean that Alex should stop fighting for Maggie? That the battle is over, and it’s time for Alex to gracefully concede defeat?

Or has their game been called on account of shitty behavior and terrible decisions and years of festering? Have they both lost? Is it a forfeit? Can there even be a chance of a winner, when so much has been fucked for so long?

Alex doesn’t know, and it doesn’t seem like the kind of thing she can ask over text, and Maggie hasn’t brought it up, and anyway Alex had sworn, back in her office at the DEO months ago, that she wasn’t going to bring anything like that up again. The ball’s in your court, she’d said. And then Maggie had fucking wordlessly left the ball on her couch and what the fuck does that fucking mean? She’d left the ball and said game, set, match, and then the next thing she’d texted Alex about had been work. And now Alex is out in the desert, slowly roasting like a Thanksgiving turkey, and she doesn’t possibly understand anything.

Alex comes back from the desert on a Friday night. She lets herself into her apartment with a long sigh of relief. The apartment isn’t much—she’s never been one for decorating or nesting—but she’s missed it terribly. Sleeping on a cot in a windowless room deep below the ground an hour outside the city isn’t nearly the quality of life she’s gotten accustomed to, these last few years.

Kara comes over, bringing groceries and Chinese takeout, because she’s the best sister in the world. They’ve seen each other regularly, of course, because the hour-long drive is just a few breaths of flight for Kara, but it hasn’t been the same. They spend a nice, quiet, relaxing evening together, and Alex forgets to obsess about Maggie until after Kara leaves.

She brushes her teeth and washes her face and changes into her pajamas and climbs into her bed and the thoughts pop back in, like they have every night for the last six weeks.

Game, set, match.

Alex texts that she’s back in town, and Maggie doesn’t respond for almost a day, and Alex bites off all her nails and isn’t nearly nice enough to all the agents she hasn’t seen in six weeks. But then in the middle of the day, Maggie texts. She asks Alex to meet her that night.

She invites Alex to a bar that Alex has been to a couple times before, usually on first dates. The beer selection is pretty good, and it’s quiet enough to be able to hear each other while not feeling like a library. It’s dim lighting but you can still see well, and the food is all vegan which is at least something to talk about on a boring date.

Alex gets there about fifteen minutes early, after obsessing over what time to leave work in case there’s traffic to make sure she isn’t late, and so she resorts to creepily lurking in a dark alley on her phone for thirteen minutes so she doesn’t look too eager.

She hates herself.

She’s wearing a gray tshirt and black jeans and boots and her black leather jacket and she put on eyeliner and fixed her hair in the alley after she’d taken off her helmet, and she hates herself.

It’s just Maggie. Maggie’s seen her in ratty pajamas, and on the flag football field, and in her work blacks, and at three am during finals when neither of them could remember when they’d last showered.

But it’s also Maggie. Maggie was the first person to ever see her naked, has seen her drunk and begging for love, has seen her wrapped in bedsheets at camp and at Stanford and in Gotham. Maggie’s held Alex in her arms as Alex has shaken apart in ecstasy and as Alex has nearly vomited from a concussion. Maggie’s pushed her body away after too many orgasms and after the raid at the warehouse and when Alex had brought muffins to her apartment.

Maggie’s run towards her, hugging her so tightly that Alex could barely breathe, and Maggie’s slammed the door in her face. Maggie’s loved Alex for years and hated her for longer.

Maggie’s probably not going to be very swayed by Alex’s eyeliner and new leather jacket, but Alex can’t help it.

It’s Maggie. Her ex-best friend, the love of her life, her adversary, her teammate. The only person she’s ever loved, and the only person she’s ever thrown away.

She walks into the bar one minute early, and she wishes that she’d worn her Kevlar.

A knock at the door disturbed her reading.

"Dr. Danvers?"

Alex sighed and looked up. Hovering in the doorway of her office was one of her research assistants, Andrew Webster. "Yes?"

He fidgeted and cleared his throat. "Uh, I, um, wanted to make sure you got my email?"

"Your email." She raised an eyebrow. "What was it about?"

He cleared his throat again. "Uh, lab time tomorrow."

She considered. "Oh, yes, there was that speaker coming in you wanted to see, correct?"

Andrew nodded.

"As long as you make it up this week sometime, that's fine, Andrew."

"Thanks, Dr. Danvers, I appreciate it!"

"Not a problem."

Her assistant looked ready to bolt. "Andrew."

"Yes, Dr. Danvers?"

"Where's this talk?"

"Uh, it's in the Hall building, the auditorium. At two in the afternoon."

"And it's a forensic scientist speaking, correct?"

He nodded.

"I believe I'm free then," she said. "Might see you there."

"Uh, cool, cool," he replied, fidgety as ever. "See you tomorrow, Dr. Danvers."

"Have a good evening, Andrew."

With that, he left the doorway to her office. Alex smiled to herself. She did rather enjoy scaring the students with her no-nonsense attitude. It wasn't even that she was acting very much, just maybe taking it a little further than she would have naturally gone. Everyone in the department at the university was terrified of her. She had to admit that she was amused that no one dared to call her anything but Dr. Danvers.

I’ve been working on this blog (including manually finding and inputting information on every fic as well as posting/tagging the posts) for over a month. And it is May 1st, so I thought it would be a good day to launch this thing.

If you’re new here (well, who isn’t?), please check out the About page under Pages. This will give you a ton of information on how this blog works and how to navigate it.

This is what I call a “Sanvers-First” fic archive blog, meaning every fic posted here has “Alex Danvers/Maggie Sawyer” as the first relationship tagged on AO3. I wanted to provide a resource for Sanvers fans and fic readers/writers to find Sanvers fics by tags. Whether you’re looking for new fics to read or looking for old fics you forgot to save, hopefully this blog can be a resource for you.

I’ve posted over 900 fics here to start with (which is only about 18% of the total number of Sanvers fics on AO3), but I will add more over time.

I was inspired by theolicitylibrary and looked through their blog for inspiration on parts of this blog, but I have never done this kind of thing before, so please be nice to me. And let me know if something is confusing / not working.
