hiii accountant here. i used to do our bookkeeping when i was a baby in undergrad but then we hired a contract bookkeeper after i started doing actual accounting work so i know both sides. quickbooks online (QBO) is what like 99% of small/medium businesses use (these are the ppl most likely to outsource their bookkeeping work, big companies will have their own software or use SAP or smth and more likely have in-house teams). without experience/qualifications think you’d be best off trying to get a position at a place that just does bookkeeping services for other companies, i’d check job ads for bookkeepers to see what sort of qualifications they ask for but having a certificate or something that says you know your way around QBO is good. any 101 intro accounting course will cover fundamentals about the work as well
great tysm!!!!

How to Find Hope for Completing Your Writing Goals
Tumblr media
Every year, we’re lucky to have great sponsors for our nonprofit events. Campfire, a 2023 NaNoWriMo sponsor, is a writing and worldbuilding platform to help you create an immersive experience benefitting both authors and readers. Today, Campfire Community Manager Emory Glass shares some words on having hope when writing feels overwhelming:
It has been 3,265 days since I won NaNoWriMo. I was 16 and wrote 75,000 words. It was exhilarating and cathartic and everything I ever dreamt of.
Tomorrow it will be 3,266 days since I won NaNoWriMo. I look back on my projects thinking, “2,500 words a day is lightspeed. The words flowed so freely then, so quickly.” I want to be a writer–I am a writer. It is my identity, my purpose, my reason, yet I cannot bring myself to finish what I have begun.
The next day it will have been 3,267 days since I won NaNoWriMo. The words do not fly from my fingertips but crawl, sapped of energy, the page a grave for ink stains posing as letters. I talk to my characters often. My writer friends tell me I speak of them as if they were real people, but I cannot seem to lift the weight of their stories from my mind. Still, I have no platform, no audience, no one eagerly watching for the next installment.
The day after it will have been 3,268 days since I won NaNoWriMo. Two publications, no published novels, hundreds of thousands of words gathering dust. I am no writer, I am a collector of words. There must be something wrong with me. I have so much to tell, so much to share, so much to create, but here I am not telling, not sharing, not creating.
One day it will have been 3,269 days since I won NaNoWriMo. I will not have published a book, I will not have a new story, I will not have an audience or a platform or one–just one–person looking forward to what happens next.
But I will not give up.
"...and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." (Friedrich Nietzsche)
It's rather typical for a dark fantasy writer to peer into the void, but it quickly becomes an intoxication and an excuse to never move a muscle. Do not succumb. Push forward, even if you barely move an inch. If you wish to be a builder, you build. If you wish to be a fighter, you fight. If you wish to be a writer, you write.
Brute force seems barbaric. Should words not spill onto the page? It is said that art cannot be coerced or bent to one's own will; it comes easily, naturally, swiftly. The very best art is created in a creative frenzy, so they say, and the very best artists are recognized in memoriam.
But if you delay and evade and wither your ambition as you count the days since your last success, your oeuvre halts and is buried and perishes by your own hand. So if you, like me, too often find yourself peering into the void where the words have gone to fade away, cleave to the remedy for its gaze: hope. This is the heart of creation. Laudation and lucrativeness are but two measures of success. They will not themselves burst a dam of words within you and imbue every project with Midas' touch. Creative fever is not catching–you must seek it out.
Give yourself a reason to write even when you do not want to or it feels too Herculean a task. If you seek new horizons, a useful tool, or a supportive community to accompany you on this odyssey, enlist Campfire to help. Whether it behooves you to squeeze out words on your mobile device, stay focused offline with a desktop application, or keep inspiration at hand via browser-based work and Discord chats, it's the best place to bring your stories to life.
NaNoWriMo participants can save on Campfire’s writing software! Use the discount code LETSGONANO23 for 30% off your first year of an annual subscription to our Standard Plan. It’s free to create an account. Offer expires March 31, 2024.

Shouta doesn't like music. He swears to detest it in all its forms.
He listens only when Hizashi plays his music, but he could care less what he puts on.
Hizashi has been trying hopelessly for years to find music that Shouta likes.
It proves not to be fruitful.
Well, not on the surface...
But lately Hizashi has noticed that his listening data seems a bit suspicious.
He uses a software that tracks his top played songs, and he can look through his streaming history. As he's thumbing through it one day leisurely, he notices it...
There's a long list of songs he has not listened to recently. At first, he panics, trying to imagine who would have hacked his Spotify account, of all things. But then he realizes, a sly grin coming over his lips.
The songs are mostly ones he's heard, ones he's played around Shouta recently. Others are songs he doesn't know off the top of his head, but he quickly realizes they're related songs of a similar genre, and...
Shouta has been listening to his music.
He's been listening and then seeking out even more songs that he likes. This realization gives Hizashi a wicked idea.
The next time they're in the car together, he connects his phone to the speaker and says, "Hey, Shouta, I've got some new songs you might like." Shouta rolls his eyes, laying against the car door, looking uninterested.
Hizashi turns on a song Shouta has recently listened to --a lot.
He blushes a bit, only so much that Hizashi only notices because he's looking for it, and Shouta just says, "It's fine."
As he continues to track Shouta's music interests, Hizashi notices that Shouta listens to that song with much more frequency while Hizashi is away.
Shouta is completely oblivious to Hizashi's little game and continues to listen to music when Hizashi is at the station.
He doesn't know the words, but he still mumbles along in little hums, bobbing his head a little off beat.
He feels closer to Hizashi.
And he won’t ever admit it because then he’d be a total sap, so he continues to enjoy only a select few songs in secret, and Hizashi lets him have this.

The Accountancy Advantage: Finding Toronto’s Best Recruiters
Tumblr media
Accountancy remains one of the most critical functions for organizations of all sizes. Whether it’s small businesses looking for bookkeepers or large corporations needing experienced accountants to manage complex financials, finding the right talent can be challenging. That’s where the top accountancy recruiters in Toronto come into play. They offer specialized recruitment services to ensure companies find the best professionals for their accounting needs.
In this blog, we’ll explore the advantages of working with Toronto’s leading accountancy recruiters and how they can help you stay ahead in this competitive market.
Why Top Accountancy Recruiters Matter
Accounting is the backbone of every successful business. It is responsible for managing finances, ensuring compliance, and providing insights for strategic decisions. However, hiring the right accountant is more complex than finding someone with the proper credentials. From corporate accountants to tax specialists, every accounting role requires a unique set of skills and qualifications.
Top accountancy recruiters in Toronto specialize in identifying, vetting, and placing high-quality accounting talent, ensuring that the right professionals are matched with the right roles. These recruiters have in-depth knowledge of the accounting industry and understand the intricacies of finding candidates who meet technical requirements and align with the company’s culture and values.
The Importance of Partnering with Accountancy Recruitment Experts
While many firms may try to handle their recruitment internally, working with specialized accounting staffing solutions provides several key benefits:
1. Access to a Larger Talent Pool
The best accounting firms in Toronto and businesses across various industries are competing for top talent. When the demand for skilled accountants outweighs the supply; it can be challenging to attract the best candidates. Accountancy recruiters, however, have access to extensive networks of both active job seekers and passive candidates who may not be actively looking but are open to the right opportunity.
Recruiters specializing in accounting have established relationships with professionals at all levels, from junior accountants to CFOs. This broader access to talent means your company gets a better shot at hiring the best candidates without the prolonged and expensive search process.
2. Industry-Specific Knowledge
Not all recruiters understand the nuances of the accounting world. Specialized top accountancy recruiters deeply understand what makes a successful candidate, from technical skills and certifications to industry knowledge. Whether knowing the latest tax regulations, financial reporting standards, or the software systems used in accounting (like QuickBooks or SAP), specialized recruiters ensure that candidates meet all the necessary qualifications for the job.
This industry-specific knowledge also allows recruiters to provide better insights into salary benchmarks, trends in accounting talent, and the demand for particular roles within the Toronto market.
3. Streamlined Hiring Process
Recruiting can be a time-consuming process that distracts from core business operations. Sifting through resumes, conducting interviews, and negotiating job offers takes time that many companies simply don’t have. Working with top accountancy recruiters streamlines this process by handling everything from job postings and candidate screening to interviews and salary negotiations.
Recruiters work closely with clients to ensure they understand the company’s specific needs and then present only the most qualified candidates, reducing wasted time and resources.
4. Ensuring Cultural Fit
It’s not enough for a candidate to have the right technical skills—they also need to fit in with your company’s culture. A good accountant must be able to work collaboratively with other departments, communicate effectively, and thrive under the pressures of the role. Recruiters consider this when vetting candidates, ensuring that potential hires align with your company’s values, work environment, and team dynamics.
By focusing on cultural fit and skills, accountancy staffing solutions reduce turnover and increase employee satisfaction, resulting in longer-lasting placements and better overall performance.
What to Look for in a Top Accountancy Recruitment Agency
Choosing the right recruitment partner is essential to finding the best accounting talent. When evaluating top accountancy recruiters in Toronto, consider the following factors:
Specialization in Accounting: Make sure the recruitment agency specializes in accounting and finance roles. Generalist recruiters may lack the expertise to identify the best accounting professionals.
Proven Track Record: Look for recruiters with a history of successful placements in accounting roles. A strong reputation in the industry is a good indicator that they can deliver top-tier talent.
Comprehensive Recruitment Process: Ask about the recruiter’s process. Do they take the time to understand your company’s needs, or are they simply filling vacancies? The best recruiters offer a personalized approach and are invested in finding the right long-term fit.
Support and Follow-Up: Some recruitment agencies offer ongoing support even after the candidate has been hired, ensuring a smooth transition and high satisfaction for both the employee and employer.

Enhancing Manufacturing Excellence: 6 Key Benefits of SAP Business One
Staying ahead of the competition requires more than just producing high-quality products. It demands efficient operations, streamlined supply chains, and real-time decision-making capabilities. This is where SAP Business One, a robust Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution, steps in to transform the manufacturing sector. In this blog, we will explore six significant benefits that SAP Business One brings to manufacturers of all sizes, from small businesses to mid-sized enterprises.
Tumblr media
Better Visibility
One of the primary challenges in manufacturing is maintaining visibility into the complex web of supply chains, operations, and inventory resources. SAP manufacturing software addresses this challenge by providing enhanced visibility through seamless integration with shipping logistics and supply chains. This integration empowers manufacturers with real-time data, enabling them to make well-informed decisions promptly.
Furthermore, the platform offers customized and interactive dashboards that offer a 360-degree view of the entire manufacturing process. This flexibility in analysis and insights allows manufacturers to adapt swiftly to changing customer demands and meet stringent deadlines.
Improved Productivity
SAP manufacturing software incorporates Material Requirements Planning (MRP) functionality, which replaces outdated production scheduling methods with a structured, multilevel production process. MRP also facilitates resource planning for machine maintenance, leading to overall productivity improvements.
Additionally, the MRP wizard streamlines material procurement and production planning, significantly reducing pre-production lead times. This efficiency boost directly contributes to enhanced productivity and better resource utilization.
Cost Control
Cost control is a paramount concern for manufacturing companies. SAP manufacturing software offers a solution by optimizing daily operations, reducing waste, and simplifying processes. Informed decision-making, enabled by SAP manufacturing software, aids in identifying cost-saving opportunities and increasing overall business profitability.
Working Capital Management
Managing working capital is essential for the day-to-day operations of manufacturing companies. SAP manufacturing software offers a comprehensive suite of modules and capabilities that help in managing working capital effectively. This includes overseeing accounts receivables, accounts payables, cash flow, liquidity, and inventory planning.
Customized purchasing reports provide real-time insights into working capital challenges, replacing the traditional year-end or month-end reports. This level of control from SAP services allows manufacturers to make proactive decisions, ensuring the stability of their operations.
Inventory Management
Effective inventory management is critical for manufacturing success. SAP Business One equips manufacturers with advanced warehouse tracking features and real-time stock reports. These features help document stock levels and monitor stock transfers between warehouses, ensuring a lean inventory management approach.
The ERP solution strikes an ideal balance between inventory stock and production capacities, facilitating on-time product deliveries, efficient inventory cost management, and meeting customer demands effectively.
Regulatory Compliance
Manufacturers must adhere to industry regulations at every stage of the manufacturing process, from procurement to final product delivery. SAP Business One plays a crucial role in improving regulatory compliance by integrating these standards into its operations seamlessly.
Furthermore, the platform empowers manufacturers to embed quality control into their manufacturing processes, providing insights into vendor performance and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Conclusion
SAP system emerges as a powerful ally, offering a wide array of benefits to manufacturers. From improved visibility and productivity to cost control, working capital management, inventory optimization, and regulatory compliance, this ERP solution empowers manufacturing companies to thrive in a competitive environment. By embracing SAP Business One, manufacturers can embark on a journey toward excellence, ensuring they meet customer demands efficiently and maintain a strong position in the market.
