Description: Born in Osaka, Japan, Valerie came from a long line of assassins that worked for Arasaka and legends tell that they are descended from a samurai who defended the island of Tsushima from the Mongols alongside descending from a blue eye samurai and have their own sense of honor believing that it’s a lie so they must have their own honor and the belief that one must change on the outside but keep the core there. Because of this, Valerie grew up thinking she would be a hero like her grandfather Hanzo aka the Angel Of Night City who defied orders from Arasaka to stay behind and help people after the nuclear bomb Johnny set off alongside her father Ichigo Sakai who was also known for his successful missions within Arasaka’s operations then and having zero casualties among his men then becoming a high ranking member of the Arasaka Hato faction and her mother, Miruko Stevenson who was a former MAXTAC officer and former Edgerunner alongside a former protege of Rogue’s. She and her older sister Violet often would pretend playing samurai where they switch places in the evil bandits and the samurai at the same time. At age 14, she was taught by her father and mother how to kill like her older sister as well and became skilled at weaponry at age 16. She graduated from Arasaka Academy with high honors as expected from her family and celebrated with her friends and family at the same time, things were looking up for Valerie as she would live the Corpo life…that is until a car crashed into the restaurant they were celebrating in. The car also crashed into her older sister who got her out of the way as the driver was revealed to have been a cyber psycho armed with dozens of weaponry but was put down by her mother and father quickly before he can take anymore lives as Violet passed away to epileptic shock in the aftermath leaving Valerie and her family distraught where she suffered a meltdown during her funeral.

Violet’s death changed Valerie and the household as a whole, she began to drift away from her parents feeling that she wasn’t worthy anymore to be called a Sakai as she failed to save her older sister. She moved out of her home and began working in Arasaka where she started to build a reputation for being a skilled assassin to the point she was considered an elite security unit. This led to working with Adam Smasher most of the time as the two shared a quiet mentorship though both know they’ll meet their ends one day. She also was in a string of toxic relationships with known Animals leader Angelica Whelan and 4th Wall Studio exec Rachel Casich. But woman helped break that mold in the form of Sasha Yakovleva, a netrunner who was working for a crew of Edgerunners.

Sasha completely changed V as the two of them were deeply in love with one another. That is until her death at the hands of Biotechnica where it left her emotionally destroyed. The result was her killing any Biotechnica personnel on sight. Her borderline psychopathy escalated during an incident that involved Trauma Team shooting a friend of her’s kid by accident. During her tenure, she befriended Jackie Welles in a mission to Mexico. Though skilled, she was injured in a mission that caused her to be relegated to Arasaka Counterintelligence.

V did move up the ranks of the Counterintelligence Division thanks to her skills and family connections. But she missed the life on the field and she always practiced her shooting. Her talents made her a friend of Arthur Jenkins who has a special offer for her…

Personality: Valerie was once a jingoistic, psychopathic, self righteous, trigger happy, overconfident and dimwitted assassin that worked for Arasaka and was known to be obsessed with peace, not caring how many people she’ll zero to get it with an attitude that is almost like Adam Smasher in a way. She is described to be a killer who kills killers as said by her superiors about her with her attitude getting worse once she was fired from Arasaka acting more cocky and ruthless having a death wish in mind with a dark and dry sense of humor. But the mercenary life was a journey of self realization for her as she realizes that underneath it all, it was all a mask to hide the fact she’s a self loathing and broken woman who couldn’t solve her problems like an adult. This realization came after she took sometime to reflect on her actions and soon became a better person through the friendship of Jackie Welles, Misty and Viktor and finally a relationship with Judy Alvarez where came to terms for who she is. Valerie is close friends with Panam Palmer who she reminds her of her older sister. She respects the Valentinos, Mox and Animals who she either knocks out or kills quickly because of their sense of honor and class while sporting a extreme hatred of Trauma Team, Biotechnica, Tyger Claws, 6th Street and the Raffen Shivs. She also has a weird habit of accidentally referring to the Aldecaldos as the Avocados. Valerie still maintains her relationship with her parents with her mom and dad offering emotional support after what happened and said that there would be great consequences for this dishonor and that Arasaka has outlived their usefulness implying that the family was never loyal to the corporation and was using it as a vehicle. Despite changing for the better, she still comes across as immature and juvenile at the same time using crude humor and acts like a man child.

She used to respect 6th Street for being warriors but her experience in Clouds left her with a newfound admiration for sex workers. The sight of what the gang has done to joytoys in a gig disgusted her to the point she would kill any of them on sight. Since then, V maintained a good relationship with the Mox and various sex workers.

Despite her dimwitted exterior, V is highly intelligent but just cocky and arrogant at the same time. Hanako nearly considered her as her bodyguard since she knows that she isn’t to be underestimated at all. V also shared a quiet friendship akin to a mentor and student with Adam Smasher as they act a lot alike though V has limits to herself-something Smasher finds annoying. But the two know that one day they’ll zero each other.

She has had her fair share of toxic relationships in the past. Relationships that include known Animals leader Angelica Whelan who just dated her cause she was an Arasaka Elite and Corpo resulting in constant arguments where Angie would gaslight or cheat on her. Another one was with Rachel Casich who acted like she wasn’t with the same cycle happening to her again. Yet she fell in love with Sasha Yakovleva, a netrunner in Maine’s crew, as the two shared a healthy relationship. She was left completely heartbroken when she heard of her death thus sparking her hatred for Biotechnica.

V is deeply in love with Judy Alvarez. Their first meeting wasn’t exactly considered pleasant with V being her asshole self but showed her selflessness to save Evelyn Parker then later her assistance with Clouds. She considers Judy someone who truly saved her from herself, sometimes calls her “watashi no hikari” which means my light in Japanese. Sometimes she’d imagine if it weren’t for her, she’d probably be dead in a ditch instead or be in a bar.

Valerie also still has her warrior code of honor as she would go out of her way to save innocent lives in the process, something that holds her back from becoming Hanako’s enforcer. She sees high values targets like Adam Smasher as prized trophies for her and like the rest of her family-resort to using swords to kill them like a ritualistic battle.

Combat skills: Valerie has been trained to handle every firearm in the planet but prefers shotguns, light machine guns, smart guns and precision rifles yet sometimes uses katanas. She’s also very stealthy and her body is in peak physical condition.

Edgerunners AU: In this timeline, Jenkins made a power play early in 2075 and sent V to take out his rival Susan Abernathy. V indeed succeeded in her mission but failed when Abernathy had killed Jenkins as V was terminated from Arasaka’s logs then fought off many Arasaka goons while her clan was attacked too. She was gravely injured during the battle and was found by Dorio where she requested to be taken to Jackie Welles. V ended up joining Dorio’s crew which was led by Maine and became the weapons specialist and sometimes chef as well. She formed a maternal bond with the newest member of 2076, David Martinez, whom she tried to get him out of the business knowing it might hurt him but he refused to.

V decided to be a mentor to the boy to keep him out of harms way and teach him the ways of the mercenary. Things were going well for V and David as he gathered enough money to buy himself a new home but that all changed during a faithful mission that went well until it didn’t and resulted in a shootout between the crew and Trauma Team. During this, Maine went cyber psycho after Dorio was killed as he soon continued his rampage into the streets thus forcing V to put him down to prevent more casualties. A grief stricken David lambasted V for her actions as V knew there was no choice with David saying that he doesn’t want to see her again. Despite this, David rejoined one year later and worked with his mentor in her new crew consisting of Pilar, Kiwi, Paco, Barbara, Rebecca, Panam, Jackie, Falco, Ozob, and Julio.

V’s reputation at this point is on par with Morgan Blackhand as she treats her crew like an army and pays them better while also providing training when she sees a recruits potential yet began to grow colder and withdrawn, seeing her own crew as expendable. This shift made divisions grow between David and V as David began to chrome himself up more much to V’s worry. Tensions soon boiled when she saw David aiming a gun at a civilian during an op causing V to demand David to slow or he’s gonna get kicked out then sent to Regina Jones. David, wanting to get more money for Lucy’s dream, accepted a job that led him to use the cyber skeleton after he took Lucy hostage then began rampaging in the city. David’s actions caused V to contact Adam Smasher as she worked with him and Arasaka to put him down until she found who was behind the job.

V doubled crossed Smasher as Rebecca and David helped her with the three being successful in killing the legendary mercenary but David was succumbing to cyber psychosis. The crew went to Viktor with an unconscious David as they attempted to remove him from the cyber skeleton only for a now cyber psycho David to awaken then murder Viktor and Misty alongside much to Jackie’s horror. David rampaged on Bradbury’s Street with among the body count consisting of Jackie, Paco, Barbara, Pilar, Falco, and Ozob while T-Bug was killed by Faraday’s netrunner who was providing security for the crew. With no other choice, V and the remaining survivors of her crew now with V, Panam, Lucy, Rebecca, Kiwi and Falco were forced to fight David with V having been forced to finish him off. The crew went their separate ways next with Lucy blocking V from her contacts while Kiwi and Rebecca struck out on their own. The only ones left are Panam and V.

The entire experience left V empty and depressed as she loved David and Lucy like they were her children. She kept doing gigs in a way to numb the emptiness inside her and became an adrenaline junkie as a way to feel alive. That is until she met NUSA hacker Song So Mi when the president’s plane was hacked. V and Panam entered Dogtown and witnessed Space Force One crash as the two assisted her in using the matrix and working with Solomon Reed at the same time. V and So Mi later fell in love as she assisted the netrunner much to Panam’s annoyance then left earth for her treatment.

Afterwards, So Mi and V married with Panam being one of the bridesmaids. V is currently under the employ of Mr. Blue Eyes to support her family working as an assassin with her wife and Panam working too.

Hazbin Hotel AU: V made it to Panam’s contacts after becoming a Nomad and later partook in one of the solutions for her sickness. Sadly, the operation went wrong and she was killed immediately during said operation. V ended up in Hell automatically for all of the people she’s killed but not before meeting an old friend of hers, Song So Mi, who had perished as well due to complications. The two later married with V becoming a rising star similar to Alastor thanks to the souls she’s been killing.

Spider-Society AU: V during her Corpo years was a normal assassin for Arasaka and was hired to watch over a cargo of genetically engineered cybernetic spiders. Thing is, one of the spiders was infected with something from the blackwall. One of them broke out and bit V in the neck resulting in their genetics and entire system being changed to the point it can handle a ton of cyberware. Arasaka heard about this and tried to capture her but she ran away while stealing experimental cyberware that allows wall crawling and combining arm based cybernetics with one being an implant that shoots web-like fluid that can switch to electric, acidic or thermal. Now she works as Spider-Woman 2077 and hunts down the criminals of Night City, for free or not for free.

Spider-tsum AU: Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope, it’s Spider Tsum 2077! In this universe, V was part of the evil corporation making tsums go homeless and stealing their donuts. That is until one she was bitten by a cybernetic spider that gave her strange abilities to withstand cybernetic implants. Now she is Spider-Tsum 2077, hero of Night City!
