Hey! 46. 8. 22.? 🙂
46. Favourite sentence/paragraph you ever wrote?
impossible to choose! most of the time what i write just disappears from my brain once i post it, so nothing really sticks with me? but this one little bit came to mind as soon as i saw the question, from Conquest of Spaces (SasoDei, sci-fi AU):
The view outside the cockpit was a gemstone-studded blanket of eternal night, spiraling clusters of pinprick stars etching out the edges of their galaxy.
For all its beauty, the stillness of it always chafed at Deidara.
He itched to be in the center of something, a flurry of planet-side action, surrounded by swirling smoke and flame, ears drowning in the scrape-clank of kunai and shuriken. And yet… He stole a sideways glance. Sasori stared forward out the window, his body perfectly still, the stars dancing in his eyes.
i just love writing science fiction.... 🥺🥺
8. Favourite fic from another author?
i can't pick just one. also, i don't actually read a lot of other sasodei, so they're all other things? no pressure to read if these ships or charas aren't your thing, but i highly recommend checking them out because they're so well-written.
Galatea by Mayblume - Kakuzu/Sasori, Sasori/Hidan, Kakuzu/Hidan, Kakuzu/Sasori/Hidan. a modern AU where Kakuzu runs a bank and Sasori his his artist fiance. Sasori becomes obsessed with Hidan as his muse, and in turn Kakuzu finds himself drawn to Hidan... Chap 9 isn't posted yet, but i heard there will be smut, heh heh. Mayblume has a standalone smut piece for the trio that's also AMAZING. i just love all the art discourse in this story, and the whole set up is really interesting.
Muse by zombiehoneymoon - Sasori/Hidan, modern AU, artist Sasori. the image of Hidan covered in gold leaf in the setting sun will live with me forever. Smutty but not explicit.
I'm Not Where You Left Me by Thisismycanon/Maiika - Kakashi/Yamato | Tenzou, just about as canon-compliant as you can get. i absolutely love this story. SMUTTY. but also really cleverly fit into canon.
Zahr by shipcat - Sasori's story, told in a postapocalyptic AU. so many powerful sentences.
Skinned Knees by tropicalgothic - Sasori as a kid, romping around with Yashamaru and Karura. i just love this story. my fav part is when they're sliding down the stairs.
22. Favourite part about writing fanfiction?
for me it has to be all the amazing people i've met since i started posting. from my readers (such as yourself) with all the comments and love you bestow on my works, to the community of naruto fic writers that i've gotten to know on the Naruto Multishippers Discord... damn, everyone's just so talented and chill.... and it gives me the motivation to keep creating. 💖💖💖💖✨✨✨

To celebrate the WONDERFUL @multisasorimonth2021 modded by the WONDERFUL Kitty I wanted to share the main fic of my Second Encounter Verse, Galatea!
Sasori and Kakuzu are such a power couple, I wouldn’t want to cross them. And even though they are only engaged in this fic, they are already so fucking married it hurts. THE original distinguished gays of the Akatsuki.
#kakuzu#sasori#kakusaso#sasokaku#hidan#kakuhidasaso#multisasorimonth2021#sasori and kakuzu are ENGAGED#how embarrassing for them#I'd especially recommend chapter 3 4 and 8 for some sweet sweet kakusaso content!

UwU - Touching themselves.
Creeper Ask Meme
The man first appears at his gallery, valuing of his latest piece with a hand on his jaw and appraisal in his eyes. He has a tall silouhette, with a suit tailored to fit wide muscles. His spine tingles as the man glances up at him, and Sasori knows - he is completely his type.
He is looking for something for his office, his assistant tells Sasori, drolly filling out tax forms for purchase. Snatching up the clipboard, his skims over the information, memorizing certain details, like,
His name is Kakuzu Bishop. As the weeks pass, he goes on to buy several more pieces from Sasori, favoring ones with green color schemes.
Kakuzu owns a skyscraper near city hall, with a fire escape door conveniently propped open during Sasori’s lunch break. He ducks his head and stalks pass smoking workers, hand sliding along the chipped grey paint of the banister, in need of a touchup for nearly a decade now.
Kakuzu is cheap, yet refined. His office is about eighty stories up, with live plants and tasteful art on each story; at around floor eight, Sasori finally finds an emergency exit door left unbolted by maintenance, darting into a glass elevator. He jabs the close button before anyone can join him, and sinks to the back wall, hoping that his fake glasses and brown wig are enough to hide his identity.
It would not do to be caught so early. Not before finding his soul mate.
Much to his disappointment, the man of the hour is not there. Neither is his secretary, recently fired after illicit documents were leaked, implying massive embezzlement on her part.
Sasori smirks as he passes her desk, empty but for a box of her things. He swipes a small souvenir as he passes through, into a corner office with bay windows - expansive and impressive. All his paintings, hung up squarely on the wall. Not one crooked. Not one hidden. Displayed proudly, as they should be, to the bright light of the afternoon sun. It is such a exhibition of wealth, a blatant show of power, to make the heavens your throne.
Even Sasori has to admit he is mildly impressed, stepping closer to the thick pane of glass. He reaches out brush the cool surface, leaving blue fingerprints on the sky.
His imagination takes them and runs with it. In less than a second, two tan arms frame him. Bare skin slaps against his back. Dark hair tickles his shoulders, a deep voice growling in his ears. A hand squeezing. Glass fogging with hurried groans, Kakuzu, Kakuzu, Kakuzu -
Almost there, never enough, he only barely manages to shove himself back into his pants as the office door clicks shut, hoping the long cut of his shirt is enough to disguise his obvious excitement. So close to getting one over this man.
“Mr. Bishop.” Might as well go for gold. “It is my understanding that you’re looking for another secretary.”

Hey bud! I hope you're doing well and are safe and healthy; saw your ask game and was curious...would you ever write another KakuKonan or SasoKaku fic? I enjoy how you portray the pairs (both romantic and platonic) and love when you work on rarer pairs. Stay warm and have a good rest of your day/evening 😌
From the writers would you ever ask meme (still accepting asks for it if anyone wants to send... might just be slow answering)
Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoy the rarepair stuff I do! I really enjoy writing them and hope to write more for rarepairs this year.
So I might write more KakuKona, yes! I do want to and have thought about it for a while but I either haven't been inspired enough by anything or not had enough brain power to come up with an idea for them to actually do it yet.
For KakuSaso, I would write more platonic stuff for them, I do enjoy them as friends but nothing romantic as it's actually a big notp for me. I tried to give them a shot but it really turned out to be a huge nope.
Hope you are also staying warm and enjoying the weekend, be safe and healthy out there!

In an RP with @akatzombie, art and design student Sasori made a pinup calendar with fireman Kakuzu. Said fireman was every month.
Teacher: Do you, uh, think you should diversify your spread?
Sasori: No, this is fine.

A sneak peek into the upcoming chapter of Galatea, “Oizys”
His fingers found the sharp edges of a half-empty pack of cigarettes in his coat. When Kakuzu took it out of his pocket and studied it for a while, a rapid fire of images flashed before his inner eye. Hidan stepping out of the police station, Hidan looking up at him with wide eyes, Hidan walking towards him with a playful bounce in his steps, Hidan grinning, Hidan teasing, Hidan baring his teeth.
Hidan with all joy bleeding out of him.
Kakuzu flinched. Guilt crawled its way under his skin and he distracted himself by lighting a cigarette. For the second time in a month after years of abstinence, nicotine flooded his system while he listened to the shadows of unsaid words crackling in the distance.
Contemplating the cigarette in his hand, he couldn’t help but think of that fateful night and the absolute ease with which Hidan had quit this ugly habit. It had taken Kakuzu three years and five attempts to stop, and Hidan had done it in the span of a few weeks like it was nothing. All for Sasori.
The sky stretched dark and distant above his head, Kakuzu’s eyes searching the black sea for a sickle of silver but finding none. It was probably for the best. Lately, he had been unable to look at the moon without seeing the glinting teeth of Hidan’s grin.
It appeared that he was utterly and truly – moonstruck.
But the memory of his words left a metallic taste in the back of his mouth, like a knife slowly bleeding to death in his throat. He could be a cruel man but that night, he had been unnecessarily so. Sure, judging from Hidan’s visceral reaction after Kakuzu emerged from his study, it had been Sasori who had pulled the trigger – but he had loaded the gun, and aimed it, too.
Kakuzu raised his head to the heavens and released the smoke from his lungs.
It seemed like they both had some atoning to do.

Merry Christmas y’all! Please enjoy some idiots enjoying their Christmas afternoon together. The headcanon that Kakuzu is an old man who just wants a nap and wears way too many socks has been brought to you by the bestest of beans, @akatzombie ilu dear
Pairing: Kakuzu/Hidan/Sasori
Warnings: None
¹ (verb) (past-p) to soften an old, greedy geezer’s heart by reminding him of the true meaning of Christmas
Crystal clear coldness smothered the town like a blanket, snuffing out the sound of footsteps and foraging, and Kakuzu was looking forward to a nap.
It was Christmas Eve and he had left his office early, ready to enjoy the peace and quiet of the late afternoon. He had just put on a second pair of socks, a third already within reach for later, and taken up residence on their couch, tea in one hand and War and Peace in the other, when –
the door to their apartment was slammed open, probably leaving a dent in the wall, as Hidan burst into the room.
“Huh, you’re home early, old man,” he stated, pleasantly surprised. Behind him, the door was still vibrating from the force of the impact.
Kakuzu did not respond and instead continued to stare at Hidan. “You look ridiculous.”
The young man was only wearing a pair of jeans, braving the freezing cold outside with decidedly too much exposed skin, and a Santa hat that crowned his white hair. While a cheap-looking Santa beard covered half his face, Kakuzu had his doubts that it helped keep him warm in any way or form.
“Just getting into the Christmas spirit!”
“It’s cold, Hidan. Wear a jacket. Or at the very least a shirt.” There wasn’t even a need for the costume, Kakuzu thought to himself. With that hair and those eyes, Hidan fit right in with the Christmas decoration beside him.
“No, YOU are cold. That’s why you think that IT is cold. It is actually quite nice out,” Hidan assessed while freeing his head from that tacky hat and beard, running a hand through his for once unkept hair.
Kakuzu wanted to argue, but as he followed Hidan’s eyes which were mustering the third pair of socks he had been planning to put on, he had to admit that he had very little room to do so. Instead he just sighed. So much for tranquillity of an early day at home.
As if to emphasise his point, Hidan threw himself on the couch, the two of them bouncing from the force of it, and nearly caused Kakuzu to spill his tea. But the younger man had no regard for the mayhem he had introduced into his partner’s life, snuggling up to him instead.
“I don’t mind, though. It means you’re warm to the touch.”
Even though Hidan had claimed that it was ‘actually quite nice out’, he was freezing, and burrowed into the older man like some small, furry animal would into its nest to survive the winter.
“Aren’t you supposed to have your cuddling needs met by Sasori?” Kakuzu complained, unhappy that the hardly acquired warmth was stolen from him in the elaborate heist that was this cuddling session but unwilling to do anything about it.
Hidan just snorted in response.
“Both of you absolutely hate cuddling. That’s why I’m forcing either one of you to cuddle a little bit so none of you has to have a heart attack just because someone held your hand for more than two minutes.”
Grumbling good-heartedly, Kakuzu brought his large hand to a rest in the tuft of white hair in his lap, continuing to read his book with a faint smile on his lips. Hidan, having chosen his den for hibernation, quickly fell asleep. Neither of them rose for the next hour, too warm and comfortable to move.

The penultimate chapter of Galatea is here, written under the patronage of Oizys, the godess of misery and grief. Her mother is Nyx, godess of the night, and truly this chapter is a dark one, shaped by the void Hidan left behind in their lives.
In Hidan’s absence, the two of them are forced to confront their own shortcomings to find the missing piece of the puzzle. Will Kakuzu and Sasori be able to reach redemption and regain what they lost?
A first look is under the cut, the rest on AO3!
Melpomene was caressing the skin of his cheek with her knife, sickly-sweet. By now, Sasori was familiar with its weight. For the past few days, she had made her bed on top of his, soaking his things and thoughts in sorrow.
Sasori rarely left the bed, had even called in sick to work. The curtains remained closed, banishing the light from their bedroom because with its rays it brought painful memories of sun-kissed skin and sun-soaked eyes.
Despite his best intentions, a single shaft of light had eaten its way through the woven fabric like a moth and now cut through the room like the trajectory of a bullet. Sasori squeezed his eyes shut.
He had flown too close to the sun and its heat had melted the wax from his arms, burned the feathers off his wings and scorched the skin from his body. Having fallen from the skies, he was now floating in a sea of misery, his soul as empty as his lungs.
The floor boards creaked softly when Kakuzu entered the room and breathed a deep sigh at the fiasco unfolding in front of him. He moved towards the window, determined to bring some light into the situation.
“Don’t you dare open those curtains,” Sasori ordered.
Kakuzu paused, hands clutching the heavy fabric.
“So you burned yourself. As I said you would. Run some cold water over it and get on with your life.”
Sasori scoffed. “I can’t just leave a project unfinished. Who do you think I am, Michelangelo?”
After a contemplative pause, Kakuzu answered. “You’ll have to move on eventually.”
When he left Sasori behind in the trenches of their bedroom, the curtains were still closed.
---
Hours later, Kakuzu could no longer stomach the eery emptiness of their apartment, the suffocating silence, the complete and all-encompassing quiet that was slowly suffocating him. He escaped to the streets below and watched on as the night opened its mouth full of teeth and swallowed the sun.
Practising what he preached to his fiancé was easier said than done when he, too, felt the familiar pang of failure squirming inside his chest. Hidan had left behind an empty apartment and for the first time since they moved in, Kakuzu felt like a stranger in his own home.
Meanwhile, Sasori seemed to grieve Hidan’s departure like one would grieve the loss of a loved one – maybe because that was exactly what he was doing.
However, even Kakuzu had to admit that things felt – off without Hidan around. Which was particularly baffling, since this was what he had wanted – or so he had thought. This development should be considered a full success, the brat gone and his life and marriage finally back to normal, yet he felt like he had lost something of innumerable value.
Stalling for time before he had to go back up, he patted the pockets of his coat in search of something to warm him up.
Their apartment felt too tame without Hidan. Like a pretty little front yard, neat and tidy and trimmed to perfection – and utterly boring. Kakuzu missed the forest, the strange melodies echoing in the entangled branches of looming trees. Missed the hunt, the feeling of sliding home in the comfort of a good fight. Missed the wild hounds testing his ire.
He missed action. Excitement. Life. And being rightfully annoyed at someone.
His fingers found the sharp edges of a half-empty pack of cigarettes in his coat. Kakuzu took it out of his pocket and studied it for a while, a rapid fire of images flashed before his inner eye. Hidan stepping out of the police station, Hidan looking up at him with wide eyes, Hidan walking towards him with a playful bounce in his steps, Hidan grinning, Hidan teasing, Hidan baring his teeth.
Hidan with all joy bleeding out from him.

Chapter 7 is here - only two more left! Eris, the godess of strife seizes this month’s chapter in stride. Bridges burn and skies fall in her wake as she leaves our three protagonists in shambles.
A first look is under the cut, the rest on AO3!
Another night that Hidan had spent elsewhere, Sasori noted as he stared at the blank space on their couch.
That was highly unusual. Hidan had started to spend most of his days and nights at their apartment since he had given him a key, much to Kakuzu’s chagrin and Sasori’s delight. Constant access to his object of inspiration had been a source of artistic bliss.
A ghostly tremor possessed his right hand, the urge to create overwhelming. The fact that he was ready to work and Hidan was missing was agonising, every second missed seemed like a whole universe lost.
Yes, it was most definitely impatience and not worry that made him unable to sit still, pacing through the flat like a trapped animal, wondering what happened to his muse. After a while, the horror scenario Hidan conjured during their first lunch together - draining all his blood and turning him into a puppet to keep him forever - seemed quite enticing. That way Sasori would always have him by his side when he needed him.
When Hidan’s key finally turned in the lock, the redhead was beyond disgruntled. He quickly pushed the relief rising in his chest aside to make room for his anger. There was no poison deadlier to the artistic constitution than being forced to wait, and after all their weeks spent together, Hidan should have known better.
But the moment Sasori laid eyes on his muse, it was an entirely different emotion that sucked the air out of his lungs, and he gasped.
The sight felt like a punch in the gut.
