Listening to Twice Dead King, and necron lore is either super inconsistent or Trazyn and Orikan are freaks beyond regular necron comprehension. I'll just assume it's the latter, because it's funnier that way. Cases in point so far:

Oltyx: accidentally tries to take a breath, almost goes insane, because necrons can't breathe Orikan: breathes whenever he needs to calm down

Oltyx: "an organic touched a necron rock, all is lost" Trazyn: literally hoarding organics, fills his home with them, drags Orikan with him to observe them in their natural habitat

Oltyx: lives through life-changing moments seconds at a time Trazyn and Orikan: stand in silence for a couple of years to be rude to each other during a conversation

Also necrons be like 'we gotta purge the organics, by the way the Destroyers, those of us who actually do purge all organics, sure are loony'. Funnily enough, this particular take comes up in both books.

Them robots be cray-cray. Or maybe it's specifically the boy robots that are cray-cray, cause at least in the Infinite and the Divine, the female necrons were like the least wackadoodle of the lot.

thank you!!! fandom is always gonna fandom, reducing characters to two-dimensional tropes to make them mix-and-matchable. it's especially unfortunate when the characters we're given in Arcane are so rich and nuanced. the best antidote is to go back and rewatch the source material imo lol.

Rescue mission

"Self defense protocols initiated," the Android droned, positioning itself before the injured Caretaker, shielding them from Whumper who strode towards them.

"Self destruct program activated. Self destructing in 20 seconds."

Whumper stopped dead in his tracks. Watched the Android as it kept counting down, red lights blinking in warning behind its eyes. And when it walked towards him, arms outstretched to catch him in an explosive hug, he swiftly turned on his heels and bolted out of the room.

"Nine... eight," the Android counted and turned towards Caretaker, now walking towards them.

Caretaker startled and flailed to get back, failing miserably with their broken ankle.

"There, oh--" The Android hit its temple a few times with their wrist in annoyance and the agressive red blinking light went out. "Sorry."

Caretaker stopped scooting back

"I didn't know you had a self-destruct program," they said, shaky.

"I don't," the Android merely said, and helped Caretaker get to their feet. "Now let's get you out of here."

i know everyone likes to talk abt how sad mr robot 404 is but i think it might just be the funniest thing that ever happened in the show. "tyrell, elliot, and mr robot get lost in the woods" is some shit you see in an ao3 oneshot not in an actual official episode

Just watched robots (2005) for the first time and holy shit this movie rocks for so many reasons but I can't get over Ratchet. He is my new fav villain. His name is Ratchet. He's got a cringefail personality and a bod that won't quit. He's insane. He's painfully enmeshed with his crazy mom. He's got negative rizz and no friends. He's got pecs for days and a snatched waist. He is the sassy man apocalypse. He's a psycho. He's whiny. His dad is from Brooklyn and his mom is from the ninth circle of hell. He's got eyebrows on fleek. He has killed before and he would kill again.
