What's going on on Instagram, anyways?

Do you guys ever see me mention instagram posts in my captain's log and go "huh. wonder what's going on over there," especially on days when I haven't posted anything here? Well, let me show you!

Before we begin, I just want to say that they're not getting exclusive content, at least, not for this book. Anything I've posted about on instagram is either going to end up on this blog soon, or is something that's been here for a long time and I've posted there to help it resurface! From tumblr I come, and back to tumblr I will always return 🫶

Anyways, let's dive into an average week on my instagram acc!

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, I might post any of the following content:

Sketches or drawings of my characters (usually old drawings I've had sitting around for a while.)

Character playlists

Picrews! I love sharing my ocs and subtly hinting that yes, there's a way to help you see your characters visually in front of you, with no independent artists harmed in the making :)

Post roundups! These are usually posts from either this blog or my main, about my characters, writing, or reading, added onto some fancy antiquey looking photos I've taken!

I'll probably post other content on these days once I start to run out of these things, but for now, these are my go-to!

On Saturdays, I post my #saturdaysnippet. It's always the same Saturday Snippets I share here, but formatted differently for the different app.

Wednesdays are set aside for my midweek poetry post. These are pictures of one of my poems, placed on an aesthetic photo I've taken that fits the vibe. This is probably the only content that goes on instagram at the moment that doesn't end up here, and only because it's not related to The Admiral's Daughter, but is simply in support of my budding poetry career ☺️

And, of course, as Sunday is my day of rest, I don't post then, and I try not to check my notifications, either.

Of course, there's also some content I post here that doesn't show up on instagram, like Captain's Log, Word Game Wednesday, and (currently!) ask game responses! (Though that last one may change in the near future....)

Zayn glanced over his shoulder to see his friends walking a mile apart. 'To think they were once inseparable.'

'I thought my plan to join you two would force them into talking - looks like we need to be more forceful. Though, Harry did speak up earlier, prior to the fair,' Liam shared. 

Niall tugged at his hair. 'I just want them to be at my wedding - I can't and will not pick sides. I want the five of us to be there. What happened to us against the world?' 

Liam hung his head and kicked a rogue pebble. 'Ride or die - kind of friendship.'

'Yeah.'

'I don't think Harry's comment after the olive branch from Louis helped the situation, though,' Zayn admitted. He bit his lip. 'But then - no one could blame him.'

A Saturday Snippet

It’s a rainy day here, and I spent much of the morning revising my upcoming novel, Plant Lady. After some angsty chapters, it’s so good to get back into the romance again!  “I don’t mean that kind of tension!” she protested, though she wasn’t so sure. Fern couldn’t deny how her pulse had rushed when Paul shielded her from the rain.

A little treat for your winter solstice. 🖤 ~~~ A soft laugh, a feminine contralto that was so close it sent a wave of goosebumps across her waterlogged skin. “So strong,” it held an exotic accent Veronica couldn’t place, “yet so very fragile.” * Fire suddenly seared her vision, and Veronica recoiled from the wall, once again paddling vulnerably in the crimson pool. Candles circled the stone edge, white and waxy, flames lighting their wicks one by one and illuminating the grotto in an amber glow. She whirled to find a woman emerging from the tarn, her bare skin glistening scarlet under the light, slender yet curvaceous in all the right places. Long ebony hair swung in a wet curtain at the small of her back as the woman gathered the strands in a ponytail and wrung out the excess blood. Veronica’s gut lurched as the woman shook out her mane in a seductive sway before sparing a glance over her golden shoulder. * “Welcome to my world, querida.” * Vermilion eyes stared back at her, inky pupils shaped in pointed crosses, like the target on a scope of a rifle. They were framed by a fan of dark lashes and capped with thinly arched brows. Both of the woman’s eyelids were lined black, as if they’d been permanently tattooed, or maybe she’d been born that way. * The Devil incarnate, ascending right before Veronica’s eyes. * Another sultry laugh that echoed off the enclosed rock walls. The woman’s fangs flashed, startlingly white in a bloodstained face, her incisors the longest and sharpest blades Veronica had ever seen. * “You give me far too much credit, mortal. Writing Friends Challenge Day 19: Saturday Snippet I’ve always wanted to challenge myself by writing a book with a big cast of characters. When I started outlining my second novel, Across a Broken Shore I knew Willa would have a big family. Love the image of Gracelynn in this moment from my WIP, An Impossible Dream and just had to draw it! "Gracelynn stood at the foot of the bed, one hand on her hip, the other tapping the handle of the scissors to her mouth.
