Is this the first timelapse I've ever posted here???
I'm not sure why this specifically kicked my ass so hard, but here's a glimpse at the entire torturous process.
I can finally move on. 😂

wrt the p5 vball au (!!!!!) i'm pretty sure yusuke is canonically Very Bad at the sports (see beach episode, his absolute terrible performance in beach vball) but he is so tall and lanky... so stronk... but i cannot see him being particularly "athletic" and coordinated in that way (part of that is just me projecting my lack of coordination on him lmao.) granted he does have high agility plus the "scoundrel eyes," in royal, but i just don't see him actually... having that sort of hand-eye to hit ball and not whiff. of the kosei boys though... knowing its artsy reputation, i don't know if anyone has that lmao... though also with him being that tall, maybe he gets saddled with middle? but also. 180cm is still, like, libero height for a lot of teams lol
they do make the joke that mako too stronk for the boys a lot (again, see beach episode) but i think she'd probably follow her combat abilities and be really well rounded in both offence and defence. haru is really nimble and bendy, and probably has a great swing (axe) but idk if she has the height/hops for the net. akechi and joker being the setters... makes so much sense oh dear it's almost upsetting. though imagine them on the same team.... akechi would probably also make a great opposite (lefty, good power) as would joker (literally perfect) and we know they're both fairly athletic, which makes me think... 6-2? maybe they hit... and set....? i think you made mishmash a libero which makes a lot of sense?. i hc him as being faster and better than ppl give him credit for, despite him being the lamest canonically. (ilu mishima) and ryuji thinks this vball bullshit is lame af dude
this is a wall and tl;dr i think vb au is so good !!! i want to chew on it thank you sorry for too many words ;-;
damn anon you had some thoughts 😂 (gonna put this under a cut so i don't flood anyone's dash)
Tbh I totally forgot that there was a beach volleyball scene in Hawaii until you reminded me omg. The way Makoto spikes it hard into the sand ... a murderer 😂 But yes she's easily captain-material for sure, especially since she's already student council president and everything
I think people would underestimate Haru at first, but you could definitely give her an edge up on something e.g. one of those scary killer serves. Bottom line is that Haru should have her sweet murderous moment where she's bouncing delicately on her heels all \o/ \o/ \o/ oh my I hope you're ready — because I won't hold back!! 💕 while the opposing team cowers in fear or something lol. I love my wife can you tell
Middle blocker is totally viable for Yusuke too I think!! He's a tall guy, so he could definitely do stuff if he puts the work in. If this was based on canonverse then yeah I could see him whiffing the ball from time to time. I’m sure the hand/body coordination for handling a sword vs doing da sports ball is different lol. My reason for making him ace was so that he could be a temperamental but formidable ace, and place him as one of the key players for Kosei so that the Shujin team could have rivals to go up against ya know? I just think the idea of seeing Yusuke's murder eyes as he blasts a spike through a block is just. (chef's kiss) sublime shit. It would be an honour to die by his hand (also is 180cm really normal libero height?? All my volleyball knowledge is gleaned from HQ so I’m probably missing something lmao)
Also I see your point about making Akechi and Joker on the same team, but considering that it’s these two dudes we’re talking about I feel like we have to double down on their whole rival dynamic, it would be a crime not to imo (and this is coming from someone who hates shu/ake and Akechi lol). The setter mind games they could have with each other is too good — like if you have Akechi be his superficially genial and amiable self while Joker actively goes out of his way to antagonise him just to peel back that fake veneer of charm and throw him off his game??? Delish
😭 Mishima my beloved ... I think I mentioned this already but I really like the idea of him being a libero since it's a near 1:1 parallel to his role in canon (no spike, only support!!!!) I HC that his low-to-zero presence lowkey serves him well on court, in the sense that he's a solid defense player that quietly keeps chugging along and making sure the ball stays up while everyone else focuses on offense. He's a silly little NPC that keeps his head down and stays in his lane ... 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Ofc sometimes the opposing team is going to target him to try and break through their defense, but once he gets into his zone it's hard to shake him off his groove imo. If you're telling me Mishima can hyperfixate this hard on his dumb little website then at least some of that focus is going to bleed into his vball game headspace (wow I didn’t go off on a shu/yuu tangent. it’s a miracle, let’s keep it that way)
Anyway thank you for your volleyball thoughts!! It’s always fun to think about it even though it’s too much effort to actualise it lmao

WIP Wednesday (@2am Thursday again! WOO)
I think I'll be done with this scene next week. I hope I'm done with it next week anyways. But honestly I wouldn't be shock if it's got 2 if I add more like I did this section. I've also got a portion in this scene not posted and toward the end of the following scene that are giving me trouble for approximately the same reason.
From last week's:
“Ryuji, you may have to think on whether you can too. Niijima-senpai and Okumura-senpai are college students and Kitagawa lives alone in a dorm,” Yuuki sweeped his hand across the table at the three members in question.  “Niijima-san might voice a want to know where Niijima-senpai is, but I don’t think those two would stop each other if everyone is doing alright. Since she knows you all can take good care of yourselves and the world.” Yuuki added with a shrug.
Continuing on:
“Yeah, Sae just told me a few weeks ago that she doesn’t expect to see me a lot this summer and to keep everyone out of trouble,” Makoto nodded as she explained.  “But Yuuki-kun, I thought both Haru and I have expressed a want to at least drop the senpai?”
“Him and Sumire-chan are always so polite. But aren’t we at least friends by now, Yuuki-kun?” Haru reached over Akira to hold Yuuki’s hand.
“Yes?” Yuuki received one of the brightest beaming smiles from the heiress and a few laughs from the gathered friends.
“And it’s ‘we’ can! You’ve been a part of us for a while now,” Morgana called as he jumped onto Futaba, causing her to squeak in surprise.
Makoto directed her attention back squarely on their curly haired header. “Speaking of Sumire-chan, she has a gymnastics camp for this first week of summer that ends in a competition.” She got a nod in response from him.
“So that’s why she wasn’t here!”
Futaba threw a ball of napkins at the blond boy as she asked, “Did you not read that group text, Ryuji?”
“What? Akira didn’t know either, right?” The blond looked to his friend for reassurance and confirmation and got a confused nod. Once he turned back to Futaba, Ryuji waved his hand towards Akira and opened his mouth.
Only for his hands to near immediately be put down onto the table by Ann, which closed his mouth. The model explained “He wasn’t in that group chat since she told us in the party planning group.”
“On what I was talking about, Tak…Ann-san’s parents are rarely around and freely allow her to take modeling jobs at her own leisure and study abroad. She has the ability to have a believable story or the money to be able to travel Japan under her own power.” Yuuki had gotten a little flustered as Akira put his arm around his waist but quickly adjusted back into a comfortable position and pace.
“Why are you going backwards on names, Yuuki?” Futaba asked as she got off the ledge to lean against it, Morgana moving to lean on her shoulders.
Ann looked between the two techies before ignoring the name flub. She went on to say, “Yeah, my parents left for their own summer vacation yesterday and won’t be back for at least 2 weeks.”
Makoto asked the blonde, “And technically you are only here due to summer break in the US being around the same time, right?”
“Yeah! I’ll be a year behind in graduating here in Japan, but maybe that will work out in my favor.” Ann shrugged as she smiled. “But it's the middle of the summer break before my year there so I wouldn’t have many friends or things to do there right now if I even went now.”
“Your parents will be in a show in Copenhagen, correct?” Yusuke asked fairly suddenly. The artist idly continued, “I wonder what beauty could be found there…”
Ann blinked at Yusuke. “Uh, yeah. When did I mention that?”
“You did not. A potential patron mentioned his agency prepping some work for there and your parents were listed in some of the noteworthy guests lists.”
“Yusuke, I-”
Futaba tapped the cat on her shoulder’s nose as she said, “Nope, let Inari have this win, Kitty.”
“I am not-” Morgana started to say something again before being booped again before Futaba began to play-fight him.
Yuuki smiled at the orange haired girl as he continued his ramble to Ryuji, “And Futaba-chan, well let’s just say between Sak… Boss not being too different from Niijima-san in opinion, she’ll also be with Akira.”
“Older brother, right,” Ryuji nodded along with that reasoning.
“Ryuji! Niishima! Stop being so embarrassing!” Futaba looked back at them while pausing her onslaught on Morgana.
“You weren’t saying that a few weeks ago when they took you to the arcade in Akihabara for a break from studying, Taba-chan,” Haru teased the younger girl.
“Haru, not you too!”
Apparently Futaba stopped paying attention to Morgana long enough for her to get a paw flat to her nose with the cat squawking a delighted “Gotcha!” Futaba fell backwards causing both to go crashing to the floor and everyone else to give some laughter. The geek gathered Morgana to pet him more in apologies.

Hot take regarding Heihachi Mishima and Reina.
Tumblr media
I still find incredible the amount of mental gymnastics that male players do with justifying Heihachi Mishima and hating on Reina for no reason at all. Let me explain.
I think a lot of y´all either don´t have media literacy, critical thinking and love to justify straight up abusers.
The whole concept and take of " Heihachi been secretly the good guy because he was betrayed by Kazumi" makes me vomit. Since when a man been abusive towards his son, adopted son and grandson is justification for been "betrayed" by his wife in the past???? Like, are you insane.??
He was NEVER the good guy, like, EVER. He tortured and imprisoned his father Jinpachi Mishima, stole his conglomerate and rebuilt it as a mafia. He left his father to die and rot under Honmaru BEFORE Kazumi ever tried to kill him. Jinpachi was long gone before that. I bet you, Heihachi doing that is what triggered the gene in Kazumi. As far as we know the Hachijou´s do not kill for nothing. They get rid of threats to humanity. Kazumi was doing her job, trying to save the rest of the world before Heihachi got more powerful.
He killed her, tried to kill his son Kazuya, and when he survived he made his life a living hell. Got rid of both his grandad and mom, adopted Lee Chaolan for the sole purpose of making him a rival to Kazuya. Not letting them develop a normal healthy sibling relationship, but just making them hate each other.
Wang Jinrei (Xiao´s grandpa) knew him since he was a kid and told us in Tekken 5 that he has ALWAYS been an asshole.
He kidnapped Michelle Chang and stole her necklace relic to resurrect and control Ogre to gain power to himself.
He manipulated Jin, trained him and brought him to fight ogre like a pig before the slaughter house. And you justify this guy????? He killed his grandson too.
Just say that you love abusers, that´s it. Is infuriating.
Heihachi probably also lying to the journalist is the cherry on top.
He had zero feelings to Kazuya even as a baby "his mother was specially doted on him", no shit Sherlock, Kazumi WAS HIS MOTHER. Of course she is going to love him.
He hooked up with Lars mom (and with multiple ones) only to prove if he had or could have a devil gene too. Abandoning countles of kids that we don´t know yet, all over the world.
And the Reina situation just makes me remember Tekken 3 all over again.
I´m 100% sure he also manipulated her, she is probably a test tube baby, raised and brainwashed by him, spoiling her (she seems to know everyone on Tekken and has a lot of money) , she doesn´t have anything against him because she is a girl and we know Heihachi has a soft spot for girls. She doesn´t know the whole story, she is probably only 21 or 22, in her mind he was the perfect father and Jin and Kaz were just overreacting or were evil. He treated her right, gave everything to her, covering up his multiple crimes and abuse towards his family. So please, do not hate on her, we don´t know her side of the story but is probably going to be sad as well.
Heihachi neglected all his male sons, adopted ones and grandkid. He is not a "heartbroken man", he was an abuser. Period.

yeah so uh, Shadow Joker eh?
this whole thing started with me thinking about a PhantomThief!Mishima, and then i started drawing stuff based off this one fic i read and then we got to here. oh well
i might turn this into a comic maybe??? depends on how hard finals slaughter me, but I’ll cross that bridge when i get to it
also here’s the lore on this guy cuz i legit spent too much mental energy scraping through the wiki figuring out how shadows and personas work and then coming up with a way it could work for joker
Basically, since someone’s shadow is a manifestation of their distorted desires, then a Shadow Joker, would be the manifestation of the protagonist’s (I’m gonna call him Ren from here on. cool? cool) distorted desires. What might those be? Well, during his awakening, Arsene notes Ren’s strong desire to help people and makes him think about whether the resolve he’s shown in the past was valid or not. This becomes the basis of the rebellious will that allows him to forge a contract with Arsene. But now with Shadow Joker, that desire to help people has been distorted into a kind of mix of hero and savior complex. So instead of just helping people in need, on some subconscious level he has started to see himself as the only one that can help and save people.
In personality he’s about the same as regular Joker. But that’s only at first glance. He’s much more unpredictable and dangerous, basically taking the whole “wildcard” thing very literally. I’d also like to think that all of Joker’s theatrics become even more emphasized with Shadow Joker.
For his palace I was thinking of him seeing the whole of Tokyo as his stage, wherein he’s an actor in a play of which he is the hero. For this I was kinda looking to the “The show’s over” on his all out attack screen, as well as hero = play, play = theatre, theatre = stage, and all that jazz. I’m still not exactly sure on how it’d look; maybe just the city as it is at night with open stages everywhere, spotlights floating through the dark nigh sky both as aesthetic as well as acting as traps for the thieves to avoid, so if you step into one of them the security level goes up. Or maybe each area that they go through would be like a different part of a theatre, so the treasure room would be Shadow Joker’s changing room and the final confrontation would be on a grand stage, idk. One thing is though, I think that his Palace Tokyo would feel really empty. Like there’d be people, but they’ll be more like faceless ghosts kinda milling about, so not at all like the ATM-guys or robots in Kaneshira and Okumura’s palaces. Also probably no cognitive versions of the other thieves or anyone else he knows, as I was thinking that Shadow Joker would be going by an “I don’t need anyone but myself” idea, and since he’s the all-powerful hero he doesn’t need “sidekicks”.
His treasure is his Phantom Thieves mask, as that would be the source of his distorted desire to help, cuz it’s the thing that represents him getting his persona and being able to help people on a larger scale in the first place.
When the other thieves first enter the palace, they won’t be in their thief outfits, as i think Shadow Joker’s desire to help would still outweigh him seeing them as a threat -- plus they’re people he knows. He’d talk and interact with them like regular Joker would, but maybe a bit more openly and with more theatrics, so the other thieves will have some trouble with thinking of him as a legit threat and not just their pal who’s a bit too quirked up. But when Shadow Joker realizes that they’re here to steal his mask, the switch flips completely, and the others have to really scramble to get out with their lives.
Then follows the general infiltration thing and blah blah blah. For the infiltration I thought it’d be neat if they go through all the different districts (that are walkable in-game) and the safe-rooms would be the areas where confidants hang out -- The Untouchable in Shibuya, Crossroads Bar in Shinjuku, Gigolo Arcade in Akihabara, Takemi Medical Clinic in Yongen-Jaya, etc.
There might also be a progression reason for which the gang will have to go into Shinjuku Academy, wherein the safe-rooms would be Ren’s classroom and the roof. Maybe there’s something in the school that they need to clear before they can progress through Aoyama-Itchome and go to Shibuya, idk.
The treasure room would be in the Leblanc attic (because ofc).
For the boss battle, when the other thieves try to steal his treasure but get caught on the way out (cuz that’s what always happens to these fools), Shadow Joker takes the mask from them and actually uses it in the battle, which allows him to switch between a number of different personas as a mechanic. Their levels and attack would be comparatively lower that the thieves’, but the sheer number of skills at his disposal as well as his unpredictability would be trouble enough.
there might also be a phase two, where he rips off the mask he’s wearing and replaces it with his original phantom thieves one, and ends up transforming into a fusion of himself and Arsene, so now he’d be technically using only one persona, but with higher stats
(also i was entertaining the thought of this being the general theme of the palace and this being the theme of the final confrontation. i feel like the first one’s just kinda eerie enough to suit prowling through your friend’s subconscious)
and then pertaining to the design itself, i was basing it off of the regular Joker outfit but spiced up with more flamboyance, because to Ren, Joker would be like the epitome of him feeling like a hero. I kept the mask on to also keep that Joker vibe going, however i made it a more extravagant variation on the original, to kinda push the theatre vibe. I also gave him a cape -- i think that one’s self-explanatory. The walking stick is to give him even more flair, but also uh, concealed weapons is like the perfect Shadow Joker thing to do. Basically think of Lucious Malfoy’s wand-walking stick but with a dagger instead of a wand.
anyway I want it to be clear for the record that I have never once looked up the shadow joker tag on here before i started drawing this but i’m glad we all share the same braincell when it comes to his outfit, fellas
(also holy FUCK @waifujuju‘s Shadow Joker design is so fucking clever, i am in awe)
that PhantomThief!Mishima thing is still in the works by the way, though i’ve hit a roadblock trying to come up with a persona for him. So far i’ve been thinking of something along the lines of Merlin but idk, it doesn’t seem rebellious enough so the only thing that fits is the vibes, and even that’s a maybe. this whole process has also been exacerbated by the fact that i’ve got a really cool costume going for him that involves a bolt-action rifle which i am very fond of and very reluctant to let go off. all this to say, if you’ve got any ideas please shoot me a message or write a comment cuz rn my brain is kinda frying itself trying to think through this. ty

Ohhh can you tell me more about Chuuya and Atsushi as the narrative's salvific Christ figures? And Yukio Mishima? It's the first time i hear about him
honestly I don't know how to effectively explain my christ theory on a public platform; i read Man From the West and The Salvific Literature of Ryunosuke Akutagawa, and they rewired my brain.
but it's worth noting that the orphanage looks like a cathedral, that in all of Atsushi's flashbacks, he's bathed in light; that he and Chuuya are proverbially crucified over and over again (Atsushi having his limbs torn, Chuuya bring strung up and speared by electric poles in Stormbringer, Corruption); that they're haunted by crucifixes in the backgrounds of key scenes; that they have father figures who designated them for purposes requiring their sacrifice with disregard for what it would take from them; that the headmaster nails Atsushi's foot and Chuuya has graphite in his wrist, both evocative of stigmata; that they're both human and harboring immense divinities described as gods which are capable of subduing chaos, making them sons of man and sons of god; that they have an immense capacity for love and compassion and vicious anger; that others flock to them (Chuuya, the Sheep and the Flags and unnamed friends Shibusawa killed; Atsushi, Kyouka and Lucy); that they inspire in others a desire to live long enough to be saved.
Yukio Mishima was a wildly popular and influential post-war Japanese author who was also a fierce ideologue, obsessed with hypermasculinity and Japan's superiority. He wrote a tetralogy telegraphing his suicide, committing seppeku upon a failed coup attempt on the same day he submitted The Decay of the Angel manuscript for publication— having meticulously designed his death with the same aesthetic precision with which he molded his body. He was also very close friends with Shibusawa Tatsuhiko— whose bsd character design Sigma mirrors.

Heya! Weird request, but still ~ Narukami, Yusuke, Akechi, Mishima with s/o who's scared of insects, like really really scared. My windows are covered with weird bugs, and only one look at them... it makes me itchy and I want to cry.
With an S/O That's Scared of Insects
Fandom: Persona 4 // Persona 5
Character(s): Yu Narukami, Yusuke Kitagawa, Goro Akechi, Yuki Mishima
Type of Request: Headcanons
Note(s): Not weird at all! Bugs are kind of gross so I get it. (I only like them when they're taxidermy tbh)
Tumblr media
Narukami
He would be very understanding of his partner's fear of insects and do everything in his power to make them feel comfortable.
If he is ever out catching bugs then you will never know. Yes he needs them to feed to a weird old lady's fish, but he gets rid of the evidence so you don't have to accidentally see any of it.
That said, if you do see an insect then he's going to catch it and pretend that he's throwing it outside. Instead he's putting it in a jar or something so he can give it away for items later.
Tumblr media
Yusuke
Yusuke would find his partner's fear of insects to be an interesting study in human emotions, but he would never belittle or mock them for it.
He would come up with creative solutions to avoid insects, such as strategically placing citronella candles or wearing bug spray when outside.
Yusuke would also create beautiful works of art inspired by insects, hoping to help his partner see the beauty in these creatures from a safe distance. It probably doesn't work but he tries.
Akechi
Akechi can't help but scoff a bit at hearing how you're afraid of bugs. I mean it can be easily squashed. But when he sees how far your fear goes, that's when he does feel a bit guilty.
He might tease his S/O a bit about going to him if you see a spider or something. You're treating him like a knight that'll save you. He doesn't hate it, he just finds it amusing.
Akechi is quick to kill any bugs you see. Who gives a shit about opening a window and capturing it? That takes too much time and Akechi doesn't care. Honestly, if it wouldn't be very suspicious and destroy the house, he wouldn't care about taking his gun out and shooting the damn thing for you.
Mishima
Mishima would be very empathetic towards his partner's fear of insects, having his own fair share of "irrational" fears as well.
He would do his best to avoid any insect-heavy environments and encourage his partner to speak up if they are feeling uncomfortable.
Mishima would also come up with a system to safely catch and release any bugs in their home, never wanting to harm anything needlessly.

Please let me know if i missed anything!
Word count: 1189
Tumblr media
Akira Kurusu~
this man is a very comforting person to be around
his scent is nice, the soft but bold smell of coffee clings to him from Leblanc
he's a very soft person, whether it be his voice, his hair, or even just him in general.
he also can be quite quiet sometimes, so he's a good person to vent to or talk to. he doesn't pry, and is a very good listener.
he won't cling to you, and certainly won't push you to speak or hang out with him. he want's to give you as much space as you want and need.
will make food for you, and check up on you, just to make sure that your still staying healthy.
tries his best to act like normal, but is still very kind with you and careful; he doesn't want to bring up any emotions or bad feelings.
however, he doesn't want to act so normal that you feel like your being neglected or that he's trying to ignore your feelings
as soon as he finds out you have a palace he blames himself
"Why wasn't i there for Y/N?" "i should have tried harder to be there for them.."
it crushes him, it truly does that your desires got so out of whack because of this
he feels like a terrible boyfriend. he should have noticed that you were going through this, he thinks
in reality it isn't his fault; the person you lost was very close to you, and it was kind of bound to happen (the palace)
he makes it his first priority to save you, and make sure that your state doesn't get any worse
after all is said and done, he makes sure to check up on you more and make sure that you know your not alone, even though he can't replace the person you lost.
Ryuji Sakamoto~
definitely the best to comfort you.
he's lost people in his life, and knows what you need. You need some attention, not enough to be smothered, but enough that you know your not alone in this.
after his dad left (even though he was a terrible person), it messed him up, and he felt more alone then ever. he didn't have anyone like you to help him through it
he wants to make sure you don't feel the way he did, so he makes sure to check up on you
the same as Akira, makes sure you've been eating and drinking, but also makes sure you've been keeping up with hygiene.
he'll invite you over and run you a nice bath, and while you take it he will prepare snacks and a movie, with your favourite fluffy blanket of course.
lots of snuggles. again, he makes sure you always have space to back up or move away from him incase you feel suffocated.
when he hears from Mishima that you asked for your own heart to be changed via the phan-site, he makes it his goal to help you.
he tries not to linger on bad thoughts to much, and tries not to let himself take the blame; he knows its not his fault.
that being said, he still feels bad about it all, he can't help it you are his s/o after all
as soon as your heart has been changed he's coming to visit you, with some sort of gift, maybe a teddy bear, or even just some snacks
you guys watch a movie, play a game, read manga together, heck whatever you want as long as he can be with you
Yusuke Kitagawa~
he's a clueless boy
not the best at sensing when you need to be comforted, and also not the best at sensing when you need space
in fact, he's quite bad at it.
he may have lost his mother and father, but he was quite young when it happened, and he tries not to think of Madarame to much
still, he is aware of the situation and tries his best to comfort you
he gives nice hugs, probably because of his height, and is also very gentle with you
he treats you very delicately, and tries his best to be delicate with words as well, as not to say anything that might trigger you or make you feel a wave of bad emotions.
he tries to make you food
he's not very good at it, but he's learned a thing or two from living in a school dorm by himself.
sometimes he'll just resort to buying you some food (if he has money)
one of the few ways he is good at showing that he is there for you, is by making you stuff.
he paints, sketches, crafts, heck he even tries using clay.
he makes you all sorts of stuff from trinkets to full on paintings.
when he find out about your desire to have your heart changed, it hits him like a truck, especially because you told him yourself, even if you don't know he's a phantom thief
your the only person he has left, really, and he wants to take care of you more than anything in the world.
he's quick to change your heart, and after he comes to see you
he is out of characteristically romantic with you and gentle with you, even more so than he already is
he's just happy that your here with him, and that you didn't start to feel worse.
he vows to be better at comforting you in the future and paying more attention to you.
Goro Akechi
it doesn't matter if it's third semester akechi or not, he too is also terrible at comforting you
he does try, really, he just isn't really sure how to do it right
growing up he never got comforting for anything. not until you showed up.
its still a very new concept for him, but he wants to be there for you so he tries as best as he can
and for the most part he's ok. the only problem is that he's over baring. its almost suffocating.
he always knows when your upset, its like his sixth sense
the only problem is that he can't tell if your upset because of the loss, or because of him.
he actually refuses to even think its him unless you bring it up
he's good at taking care of you. he buys you food, helps you stay on top of hygiene, helps you with laundry.
its just that he acts like you are completely uncapable of doing ANYTHING. it's like he's taken control of your life.
when he does find out about your palace, he's heartbroken.
you are the ONLY positive thing in his life. his sweet little flower that he protects and cherishes more than anything.
VERY QUICK to get rid of your palace.
he soon after realises that he was kind of bad at comforting you and the he was waaaaaay to over the top.
he makes sure to give you as much space as you need now, but is also much sweeter than you. before he had discovered your palace, he didn't know that the death had effected you as much as it did, and now he wants to show you his unconditional love and support.

some Hinako thoughts iwanted to draw out
[ID: 1. a sketch of Alice Yabusame and real Hinako Mishuku from Your turn to die. They both hold out a hand for a handshake. Hinako says; "Hinako." And Alice says; "Ah- uhm, Alice." Hinako says; "Thank you. For– saving me back there." 2. The start of a comic- it shows several of the participants standing in the first room, Hinako standing near Alice as Alice scowls. They have a conversation; Alice: "...Hinako Mishuku." Hinako: "Yes?" Alice: "Why are you standing near me." Hinako: "I don't know anyone else here." Alice: "Well, leave. I am more dangerous than any stranger." Hinako: "No you arent." Alice: "You don't– I will request that you do not stand near me. Please." Hinako: "..." Hinako: "Fine." The last panel shows Hinako walking away, unsure of what to do. 3. Nao looks forward toward something in the middle of talking with Mishima and exclaims: "Ah– Hey, everyone!" It shows Kanna, curled up at the end of a tunnel looking darkly forward, as Nao says; "I think– theres someone new..." There's an in-between panel of everyone bustling about, and Reko picks up Kanna as Nao picks up her bucket, and Kanna hangs limply in her arms. In the next panel Kannas hands are on her head as Reko notices Hinako, and asks; "Do you know her?" Hinako replies "...No." And Mishima, standing next to her says; "I believe it is best if we leave her alone, for the moment." 4. Hinako and Kanna are sitting next to each other on the floor, Kanna buring her head in her knees and Hinako looking around. Hinako looks across the room and watches as Reko sidles up to Alice, and whispers something to him she can't make out. The last panel is Hinako looking away. end ID]

We've seen that Nao would escape with Sara- who do you think each of the characters would escape with if they were the sacrifice and got voted out?
Sara Chidouin - While Sara cares for everyone, I think Joe would be her go to choice. He's her best friend and they've known each other much longer then she's known any of the other participants.
Joe Tazuna - He canonly tries to escape with Sara.
Gin Ibushi - He always seemed closest to his Big Sis Sara to me. So I think he'd want to escape with her more than anyone else. Even though I think Q-Taro and Keiji would be his second and third options.
Keiji Shinogi - While I could see him saving either Gin or Sara, I lean toward him saving Sara just slightly. Mostly because she's been his mentee since the first chapter.
Alice Yabusame - He'd choose Reko. Despite their troubled relationship, she's still his little sister and I can't see him leaving her to die over people he's known for a few weeks. Plus he's always wanted the chance to reconcile with her.
More Undercut
Reko Yabusame - This is super hard because of how caring a person Reko is. I lean toward her choosing Alice because they have a long history together, and their dream was to perform together for a long time. I could also see her choosing Sara, Gin, Kanna, or Nao.
Nao Egokoro - *Insert that one CG of Sara and Nao here.*
Kazumi Mishima - We don't see much of Mishima, but I think he'd choose Nao. She was his main priority even during his death after all, since he did find his final moments burning alive pushing her away so she didn't get hurt.
Q-taro Burgerberg - He cares about Gin, and children in general, so much. So I think he would choose Gin and try to get him back to his Mother.
Kai Satou - His entire goal in the death game is to keep Sara safe, and I really can't see him wanting to save anyone more than his family considering how much the Chidouin's mean to him.
Kanna Kizuchi - In the logic route, Keiji points out that Kanna would've escaped with Sara if she really had the sacrifice card during the second main game. Shin says that he knows this so I'm going to say that it's canon that she'd pick Sara.
Shin Tsukimi - Shin fears nothing more than death, but loves Kanna enough to die for her. There's no way he would abandon her to escape with someone else.
Dolls
Ranmaru Kageyama - Considering he wanted to kill everyone and escape with Sara...I'm going to say. (I've said it once and I'll say it again. Ranmaru is who Joe could've been if he was more willing to save Sara at the expense of everyone else.)
Naomichi Kurumada - Naomichi has a soft spot for Kanna, so I'm going to go with her. I do think it's interesting that her name was the first one I thought of though. Considering how a large part of his character is gradually becoming more protective of the other dolls.
Anzu Kinashi - I think she'd choose Reko as they seem to get along really well in all of their interactions. I could also see her picking Sara since they're friends too.
Mai Tsurugi - Mai makes fast friends with Q-Taro so I think she would be tempted to escape with him. Especially post stabbing where she feels extremely guilty for what she did. Though I could also see her taking Gin if Q-Taro tried to push things in that direction.
Shunsuke Hayasaka - This ask made me realize how few developed relationships Shunsuke has. He's only really close to Gin, so I'm going to say him pretty confidently.
Hinako Mishuku - This is incredibly hard because of how closed off Hinako comes off as. Maybe Ranmaru since she tried to help with the collar game? Or maybe Sara since they do seem to get along pretty well?

her design is sooo generic. this is literally the first draft you make when you want to be a vtuber and do your own art. She has a random zipper on her arm. I know Current Techwear Trends sometimes have random zippers, but it looks so dumb on her. its not even a detachable sleeve just a small opening where you can see arm. The jacket itself is boring. plain. The asymmetrical stripes and color cannot save it. If I saw someone walking around in this I'd think "oh cool" but in a game I would not think "that might be a mishima." The boots are cool. The socks are kind of dr seuss if you feel me. The gloves have nothing going on. She has world's most generic non-mishima face and features. No mishima hair. no mishima eyebrows. The voice acting in the trailer was cool but then it hits a wall with everything else. She's in Highschool. Or a Highschool Adjacent. Why should any of these adult ass mishimas give a shit about a squeaky little high school girl who plays pretend in her little throne. Kazuya Mishima would look at her for one second and then forget she exists. The Deadbeat Dad inside him would activate and he'd vanish on the spot. Jin would glance over and then go back to studying his healthy coping mechanisms for his suicidal ideations. Lars did not get a line in the trailer she probably hates him so much, this is admittedly hilarious. VERDICT: If she's not actually a mishima 5/10. If she is, 2/10.

wanted to ask before tekken 8 drops, how do you feel about the recent footage and story trailer? is it anywhere near what you hoped for when we first saw the first story trailer?
Tumblr media
Tekken 8 Demo & Kazuya
Placing this under the cut for those who don't want demo/chapter 1 spoilers.
The Chapter 1 footage I saw made me very concerned for the direction of the game. Kazuya's motivations and personality seem very different to previous games. Kazuya has always been motivated by two-fold power and revenge, and these things are deeply entwined. To get out from under Heihachi's hand, he needs strength and power, and he's devoted everything to achieving this. Last time he succeeded, he went a little off the rails, drowning in a powertrip that saw him tighten his hold on the Zaibatsu and build up its economic might with little regard for the legality of his actions.
This a world away though from the physical supremacy argument and senseless violence of his Tekken 8 motivations. Kazuya is someone shrewd and clever, he knows business, he knows power, and he knows how to maximise those. He's someone who can bide his time, plan, act from the shadows, take hits to his pride and ego if it means his long term plans come to fruition. Being 'at war with the world' is not good for business, nor does it bring him greater power - as testified to by his own line that all that matters to him is breaking apart the old world to make a new one where only those who can prove their strength deserve to live. This is a wild divurgence from Kazuya's character and M.O. thus far. This is excusable to me only if it is characteristic of Devil's corruption.
Tumblr media
Kazuya has consistently claimed that he controls Devil and not the other way round, but we know from Jin's experiences that Devil preys on the mind, infecting thoughts and seeping into one's subconscious.
The story trailer gives me more hope in this regard. Jun, or the memory of Jun, whichever it is, tells Jin that he ought to use the power of the Kazamas to try and save Kazuya. What does Kazuya need saving from? Magic Kazama powers can't make him less of an asshole, but they could help him with Devil, a power not only making him indestructable, but also destroying the man he is. Kazuya has lines in I think Chapter 1 where he mocks Jin for losing control to Devil. He does this in Tekken 6 Scenario Campaign too. He expresses disappointment in Jin for losing his humanity to Devil. So Kazuya is convinced he's in control, but I wonder if bringing these words back in Tekken 8 indicate a focus on how actually Kazuya is also lost to Devil, and not as in control as he thinks.
I hope this is the case anyway, otherwise I'm going to be livid. Kazuya's a very lucid kind of villain. His actions have a logic to them that stems from childhood abuse and Heihachi's warped lessons. He's someone who thinks himself independent while not realising he's Heihachi's most perfect creation and legacy. What makes the Mishimas frightening isnt that they can zap into sexy devils, it's that they marry their wealth and cleverness together to seize political and economic hold of nations, and you can't even go confront them in person over it because they happen to be tough as hell martial artists. Eradicating the sense and logic of Kazuya's actions needs to be because this is Kazuya's Tekken 6. This is him losing to Devil and declaring war on the world in an echo of Jin's actions. Jin needs to see this and recognise this. I'm hoping references to Azazel in Tekken 8 come in to pattern this symmetry too.
I'm also looking forward to seeing a more full cast in Tekken 8. I hope Jin's friends in particular get a look in. I think they're very important if Tekken 8 wants to go the way of humanising him.
So at this stage, there's still a lot of potential in this story, but also a lot of ways they could really fuck it up. Very much hoping that nuance gets a place in this story. Let's wait and see.

thoughts on Tekken8 so far ?
Not too many, I have mostly mixed feelings on Tekken stuff but:
Tumblr media
Okay this rules, this is a killer fucking idea for a fighting game story mode. I was actually just thinking the other day about how a lot of modern fighting games with big story modes can't really integrate the tournament structure into the story, so it's either not there or it becomes a schrodinger's tournament. But here there's no mistaking it, there is a King of Iron Fist tournament being held and fighters the world over are invited to join with their lives and with the lives of their ENTIRE COUNTRIES riding on the line. This rules, this fucking rules, I'm pissed Street Fighter didn't do this first because this is the most M.Bison idea that is also a way better plot than anything M.Bison ever did, fuck yeah.
I've heard this described as Tekken doing the Cell Games and having never watched Dragon Ball I'll have to take their word for it.
Don't care about Jin, never have really, but I am at least marginally curious as to how they'll square "Jin you are the light and hope of this world you are the hero of everything you must save us all" and "you totally fucking killed millions of people for no reason with that WW3 stunt dude". Love that Kazuya throws this in his face like, you weak little shit, you think you're putting me down? You think YOU have some kind of body count? Well it's just gonna keep growing watch this *BWOOOOOM
Tekken has spent a loooot of games running in a loooot of circles around the Mishima bloodline drama so this game promising to blow things out of proportion, with Heihachi dead (so far) and Kazuya cutting loose and the entire world seriously on the line, well okay that has my interest.
Tumblr media
Gotta be honest folks, up until now I actually hated Azucena. Decent design, Peruvian representation is extremely rare and I was super on board for that, really liked for a beat how her fighting style's meant to abuse Tekken's 3D space with a lot of dodging and swaying... but then the character started talking and, oh great, she only talks about food, she's a gimmick character that only talks about her gimmick, here comes the next annoying latin-american stereotype that the gringos just find sooo charming and sexy and funny, here comes the next El Fuerte/Laura/Zarina, and all my interest died.
And then the latest story trailer revealed that she's happily teaming up with the G Corporation (and by extension Kazuya, you know, the guy currently raining fire and murder on the entire planet) because they make for "better brand optics for my coffee" and, huh. Well. Turns out she's a total piece of shit! The "beloved for her innocent personality" thing was a dead giveaway looking at it now. Turns out she's a business major cracking winks and poses while tanks and soldiers steamroll the land and people around her. You hear a lot of stories growing up here about plantation owners being cutthroat ghouls and I must admit, it's pretty great seeing that as the twist on a typically obnoxious Disney inclusivity cartoon person, feels very topical. Maybe it is just a rehash of Lucky Chloe's twist but Lucky Chloe wasn't that inspired to begin with where as this feels a bit more thought out. I expect to be ultimately dissappointed but it sure got me almost kinda liking her a bit.
Big year for evil women in fighting games.
Feels like Tekken was just bound to have a Nick Fury at some point with other fighting games elevating characters to that position, but it is pretty weird that this a thing, right? I guess when they're going more into world-threatening stakes and characters teaming up being treated like an Avengers gathering you kinda need a Nick Fury or several to glue that nonsense together. Anyway, Victor's pretty cool. Kinda shocked that he's the first French character in Tekken apparently.
It's not easy to make me like espionage-themed characters in fighting games but he's got enough style to him that I appreciate. He's just Vincent Cassel if he was a John Wick guy with a weird Final Fantasy sword but that's not like a bad combo by any means, really just seems like Harada really wanted to put a guy he likes from da movies in there. It's the Kojima impulse but hey, if it works and the voice acting isn't terrible (like a certain other studio, seriously how do you manage to get such lackluster material out of J.K Simmons doing Omni-Man), I'm cool with it.
Tumblr media
I'm not too sure what to think of Reina? I feel like that's gonna be entirely dependant on her role in the game, because the other two are fairly throwaway characters where as her they seem to be putting a lot of stock in. I kinda like her design although I appreciate it better in fan art that lets her actually emote and look mean, the in-game face is just way too dull for what she's doing. I like the ego she's got and that she can back it up, that she's this new mystery newcomer with potential arriving to shake up the scene. I think a lot about her would be very generic and forgettable if it wasn't backed up by her mean punk personality and power, which I really appreciate. She kinda feels like if Asuka wasn't a joke. I'm just curious as to what her actual role is gonna be, and while I don't think she's gonna be a full blown villain the way Kazuya is, I'm gonna be pretty dissappointed if she just immediately slides into being a hanger-on hero. So I'm just waiting for more on her with cautious optimism.
I hope Heihachi never comes back because A: it's just wrong to have him without Unsho Ishizuka to voice him, and B: I hope they never ruin the humor of "Yeah he's dead dead but he has at least 20 bastard children all over the world and at least one of them is gunning for the throne so if you thought he was done causing problems or that the Mishima Bloodline would end with Jin, lmao"
