I don't think I gotta do much explaining here, she is canonically in love with him, and he calls her MAKI ROLL how can I not ship them? And the complete disbelief he has that he likes him.... Ough... OUGH.

Shuichi about Kaito: Gradually fell in love with

Kaito about Shuichi: The homie he kisses goodnight

They completely trust each other. Kaito helps Shuichi improve himself in many ways, and helps him to believe in himself, and because of that Shuichi catches feelings for him. Kaito is fighting demons and the demons are bisexuality (he loves his bud, and sometimes he feels weird about it, but all the rest of the time he just can't believe how unbelievably lucky he is)

Kaito x Kokichi

Kokichi about Kaito: Trusts Kaito n picks on him to be around him

Kaito about Kokichi: Slowly beginning to understand him

This hinges off what we learn about Kokichi in the trial where he dies. How he lies, not only to cause confusion but to protect himself as well. I fully believe Kokichi was trying to stop the killing game, as he says he got no joy from it in his final moments — and I think despite what they've been through Kaito believes that as well. Going more into my fanon, and my interpretation of this ship, Kokichi trusts Kaito completely. Like with his life— (he trusted him to carry out his plan despite everything after he was gone. And yeah he was "indebted" to him but c'mon) So he hangs around Kaito because— he just feels safe around him. And that's the only person who even... Tries to listen and understand him. So yeah, on Kokichi's end he's kinda pining. Hard. Kaito on the other hand doesn't necessarily push Kokichi away, but he doesn't fully understand him either. He makes attempts to though, and that enough for them. They'll work it out as they go.

Overall atmosphere: Tense.

Kaito X Rantaro

There's not much I have to say about this one. They're both just chill guys, and I think they should hold hands and maybe kiss a little ok

i have a certain PG AU in my head where danganronpa is a actual show you can audition for and the fans are EXACTLY like fans irl. pregame shuichi and ouma are huge like theater, film and horror nerds okay, and they made a small horror ARG (would it be an ARG?? idk..) just for funnies with rantaro kaede and a bunch of other people and post it online.

basically it was like. all that toxic saiouma stuff of shuichi being a weirdo, kaito bullying ouma and kaede being a bitch. BUT ALL FOR FILM. they just thought it would cool to make one and ouma is a good actor and shuichi has a big interests in indie horror films.

ouma, shuichi and rantaro worked on the script and scenes and kaede would help with makeup and stuff. basically it was framed like if shuichi record himself stalking ouma and just taking and raving to the camera about how much he knows about ouma. explaining oumas whole personal life to the camera and showing everyone his massive wall of pictures, items and just weird stuff he took of/from ouma.

it ends with either them having a really toxic relationship and it’s just documenting a really manipulative and toxic relationship, and shuichi ruining oumas relationships with other people to keep ouma to himself. and he explains it all to the camera. or you know the usual kidnap stuff. or a really open ending to it. i

it’s definitely NOT a romantic kinda thing. it’s supposed to be a horror ARG. like killing stalking when it’s clearly a horror manga and people made it out to be a BL lolz. anyway i’m the beginning it shows shuichi just taking a few pictures of ouma because he looks cute all the way to the end of doing some horrific stuff like kidnapping him and shit.

danganronpa fans found it after they where got into the show/game and just went with it. making it out like shuichi just filmed himself stalking ouma for fun and posting it. definitely not getting it was an ARG/art project made by them for fun.

i’m thinking they didn’t really expect anyone to see it so they labeled it something ominous and gave it little to no description because.. well they didn’t wanna break the atmosphere!!

"She very much reads as a closeted trans girl to me.

She is very weird about entering the women's bathroom. She's supposed to be a detective, but is letting a sign deter her, whereas Kyoko, the detective from the first game, doesn't give any shits about going into the men's bathroom. She gets very flustered about going in one near the end of the game, to the point where it made me think that she was having her own internal battle that she did not want to unpack at that moment.

There's also an optional Love Hotel scene with Gonta where Gonta has Shuichi fill the role of a lady so he could practice being a gentleman. At some point, Gonta stopped that and just referred to Shuichi as Shuichi, and she gets visibly jarred by this. "Am I not supposed to be a lady?" Is something she says. Wow.. maybe she didn't wanna drop that role for some reason..... hmmm...

She also just has those vibes about her in general. One thing is for sure.. she is not cis, it's just a matter of what type of not cis she is. She reminds me a lot of my best friend, who is transfem, so obviously Shu is transfem to me as well. :]" - Anonymous

every day i htink about the first danganronpa v3 trial where shuichi goes silent for like. a really long period of time. psyche taxi doesn't get introduced until the second chapter so my hc is that the pause was him playing the stupid little racing game in his head so he could solve hte murder

Well I guess it's the last question so how does it feel to be a worm? I have to know you got like no arms or legs and your small so I bet it's weird but I'd like to hear your thoughts and how you overall felt on this experience

Makoto:You pretty much said it, it's weird, that's pretty much how you can describe this experience, it's hard getting used to this body...then again I say getting used when it's only been hours at most.

Hajime:I don't like it, but I can't say it's not interesting exploring how it feels to be other creatures...but yeah I would rather never experience this again, and hopefully we can avoid suffering body changes for a good while.

Shuichi:I think I be mindful of any worms I encounter in the future, if I can save them from being squashed or eating I will try it.

i'm watching a new let's play of drv3 and god i need to emphasize how much i am Obsessed with the casino bonus scene and the insect meet and greet. the comedic timing in this game is perfect. they did the casino scene and then right to korekiyo's second free time event and then the bugs i'm having a good chortle over here

You know how shuichi had to be resuscitated after complications with the pod, and you also know how in the animatic kyoko(I assume) screams her lungs out because her son, her boy, her baby, has a heart that stopped beating and could be dead

Now imagine you have the people still in the viewing room hearing this blood curdling scream, and obviously not just the kids but parents come running to we’re the pods are and even if they get stopped at the entrance of the door they almost all see shuichi with not only his heart stopped but also hajime desperately trying to resuscitate him with paddles

And makoto is in the room now with kyoko and byakuya just desperately holding eachother sobbing and wailing as they watch there son being electrocuted and having cpr preformed(by mikan because she is not going to let parents loss a child) trying to save and keep him living

So traumatic for naegamigiri, the other parents, and oh god the other kids, kokichi and kaede having to watch just praying he doesn’t die, imagine the fear, pain and everything else

AAAAGH THE FUCKING PAIN!!

And RIGHT as everyone thought we things were gonna be ok too

Imagine this for the survivors too!! They’re in this new insane situation and the friends they thought had DIED are here and OH GOD SHUICHI ALSO ALMOST DIED.

And for the kids who died? Having to watch their friend get to fucking close to dying??? Oooohgh the pain.

And the possible lingering problems for Shuichi after this! I did a quick google search and it says at worst homeboy could possibly face movement disorders or speech difficulties, hell even brain injury

Luckily they have a fun rehab vacation to heal and recover and everything is gonna be ok lol

 (Sorry in advance for the rant below lol)

 For anyone who hasn’t played V3 for a while, Gonta was acting increasingly depressed throughout the game up until chp4. This was due to the fact that he didn’t feel smart enough to contribute to class trials and because he was unable to use his strength to fight the mastermind. Ouma would have picked up on this so, I wonder if he had planned on giving Gonta credit if the bugvac brought the class closer to finding the mastermind.

 There’s also a part on the Official V3 artbook (translated by @kaibutsushidousha​) that seems to imply that Ouma planned on eventually having Gonta use the bugvac so that he could finally find out what the “tiny bugs” he was seeing were.

 Which is interesting as it contradicts the idea that Ouma had planned on “making Gonta a murderer” in order to become the “mastermind” as chp5 suggests. But most people already assume that he did this out of desperation anyway...

 I also find it interesting how much detail Ouma put into the blueprint as Miu likely would have been able to make the same thing with just a simple one. It being so detailed was likely meant to show that the bugvac wasn’t just some after thought for Ouma. He, unlike the rest of the class (aside from maybe Saihara) actually took Gonta seriously.

 As for the second part, the reason why it’s implied that Ouma attempted to save the class on chp5 due to his promise with Gonta, is because I truly believe that Gonta was the only classmate that he ever felt a true bond with. He was also friends with Miu and Kiibo but, like the rest of the class, they also often vilified him. With Gonta gone, he was now left with people who, in his view, couldn’t care less if he died, even prior to chp4. So, while he would already be inspired due to his anger toward the mastermind and to let his dead classmates rest in peace, I still find it hard to believe that he would end his life in such a gruesome way for people who treated him so badly. Because of this, I think he did what he did in order keep his promise with Gonta, by forgiving his classmates for how they treated him. 

 As a final note, I know that there are some people who would argue that Ouma would instead be thinking of Saihara during this time due to the “trustworthy?” line on his whiteboard. But that was only on the NISA version. In the original it was something more along the lines of “dangerous?” or ”untrustworthy?”. Also, most of their canon interactions are negative so there’s a possibility that Ouma actually saw Saihara as a potential mastermind. But that’s for another post...
