ok bc i reblogged smth about it, lemme give you guys a bit of a tip about Chromebooks.

Assuming you didn't have to turn yours in at the end of your time in the Education System, you can claim it as yours by doing a factory reset. So if you can still log into your School Account, save what you want or can to a flashdrive (USB Stick, Thumbdrive, etc.) and safely eject it.

Next, you want to log out of the School Account. On the Log In screen, hit Control, Alt, Shift, and R.

That'll pop up a box, but it won't say Factory Reset. It'll say Power Wash. You hit that, and once it resets, log in as normal and you're home free!

I want to talk about how I type my posts. Sometimes, I simply just type. Other times I use my AAC to type. Today I'm using my communication device to type!

Why? A few reasons!

Today I am typing this post using speech to text from my device to my phone, because my hands are cramping and hurting very badly.

Typing will cause them to hurt more.

The other reason is because depending on the day, typing takes more spoons than using my AAC device's buttons.

The final reason is that it helps me practice finding my buttons faster.

Unfortunately, my phone does not listen to punctuation, so I have to type those on my phone afterwards.

I want everybody to know that saving your spoons is important. If using AAC to type is easier or takes less spoons, do it!

'live up to your name' au where og knight of blood and iron javier gets "killed" in the middle of the plot but instead of dying he's transported to modern south korea, waking up in a random alleyway with no injuries whatsoever. and because he's a protagonist no matter what universe he is in, despite being deeply disoriented and confused when he sees a group of thugs harassing a guy he steps in and chases them off with no problem and barely any mention of cutting off limbs. and then after making sure the guy is okay he very sheepishly asks him if he could please help him because he was lost and had no idea of where he was or how he got there

and kim suho who just saw a gorgeous but obviously foreign stranger in awesome cosplay chase off his would be muggers with what looked like a real ass sword and is currently high and smitten in "oh thank god i didn't get my week's work salary stolen" endorphins and is about to have the weirdest week of his life innocently says "yes of course"

hello, mechanisms enjoyer. who is your favourite mechanism. what is your favourite album. what is your favourite song. what is your favourite photo. do you have a favourite live recording.

Oh hello fellow mechanisms enjoyer. I expected your arrival. Let’s get right into the questions. Favourite mechanism? I say I like them all equally, but honestly Marius is just…something. A silly guy. A funny little fella who definitely has a medical degree, a noble title, and the best outfits among the crew (two of these are a lie). Favourite album? It’s a hard tie between HNOC and TBI. On one hand Eldritch Horror, trains, and Lyf (my head is a lunar microwave and they’re constantly spinning in there), on the other HNOC has space cowboys and Galahad. A hard choice indeed. Both have amazing stories and are absolute bangers, so I guess they can both be my favourite. There are no rules in Space against this. Favourite Song? Does the second half of Terminus count? It’s not a song but it has wormed its way into my brain and refuses to leave. Actual song-wise, I’d say it’s The Once And Future King tied with Losing Track and the entirety of Alice. Hard to choose, they’re all amazing in their own way. Favourite Photo?

Classic. Iconic. Conveys chaos in ways I cannot describe. I dealt psychic damage to a violin-playing friend by showing her a cropped image of Tim from this pic.

This is a close second though. It just radiates joy. Favourite live recording? Revenge of Spaceport Mahon because it’s just happy and joyful and has amazing banter. On second and third places are the TBI debut and Tragic Horrors Act 3 respectively. Anyway, that’s it. Thank you for the questions. Farewell and until we meet again.

Astonishing Beast and Present Hank (the one that’s not dead(?). I’ve got a question about your evolution.

First, what could make you evolve? Despite past circumstances for evolutions, would the normal trigger for mutant growth work with you? Like heightened stress which is typically associated with  puberty. Or maybe your evolution functions like Pokémon do; gain more experience to eventually become stronger?

Second, why does your eye color change? Sometimes it’s yellow with black pupils and other times it’s regular eye color with blue pupils? I guess this have something to do with your evolutionary line, but if the yellow and black symbolize more animal like qualities, why does the current version of you have blue pupils despite every evolution making you look more…beastly?

Would it be okay for speaking autistics to use AAC? I struggle talking a lot of the time and I feel like it’s keeping me in burn out, but technically I can still talk so idk if it would be inappropriate for me to use AAC. I tried switching to sign language but no one cares to learn it so it didn’t work out

Communication needs vary.

It is definitely a false binary. People tend to think you are either speaking, or nonspeaking. But it isnt like that. I am semi-speaking. Sometimes I can talk a LOT, and sometimes not at all all no matter what, and sometimes I can but it's really tiring and/or uncomfortable and/or upsetting.

Speaking and nonspeaking very much is not a binary, it is more fluid than that. If speaking is tiring for you sometimes and causes burnout, then yes, use AAC if you have acsess to it!

I reccomend looking into unreliably speaking labels. They might describe what you are experiencing.

Everyone deserves a comfortable way to communicate, and if AAC feels better for you than oral speech, use it. You deserve to communicate in a way that feels good and safe for you!

Plus, sometimes you just gotta save your spoons, you know?
