For the AU where Ilia ends up getting zapped into the past (by Zelda, unintentionally, oof) because Demise’s essence was never fully destroyed within the Master Sword, and when it breaks the essence recognizes Ilia as the descendant of the Hero of Sky and lunges at her. She ends up waking up to Ganondorf holding a sword to her throat (Insert Princess Mononoke meme here, lol) and trying to figure out why the hell his head feels like it’s splitting as a voice is demanding he kill her. 

Turns out when Ilia got zapped into the past, so did the essence, but being the essence of a god it was able to manipulate the time space around them and went back even further and kind of... situated itself into Ganondorf, who is already an incarnation of Demise’s hate, leaving Demise to try and take over him. Being a descendant of the goddess, Ilia is able to keep Demise’s essence at bay within Ganondorf, and so Ganondorf kind of just... decides to keep Ilia by his side until she can purify him, even though Demise really wants her dead.

But how best to keep a Hylian, an enemy, by his side without arousing suspicion? By making her his queen, of course! Does their relationship remain platonic or does it delve into romance? No idea! Either way is gonna be fun! Lol.

Also, for those curious, since I headcanon there’s a six year time skip between games, Ilia is about twenty-seven here.

The AU has nothing to do with this post actually cuz I wanted to just clarify that most of the time if I’m writing a Link from BotW or TotK they might look like this-

as in canon look but scarred-

rather than the exact Wild from Linked Universe. Lots of my older works have simply LU Canon Wild whereas nowadays I’ve accepted a place between LU and Nintendo’s canon appearances for them.

Oh and to be clear, I’m typically writing about the Blonde Blue/Green eyed versions! These altered appearances color-wise are for the AU

Some Rito have officially joined the Botwcast lineup! I’m slowly working hermits into what is primarily a Yogscast au, and discovering totk lore is definitely giving me a lot to think about bdjfgbdgkb

Here’s an assortment of doodles featuring a bunch of random here-there stuff I’ve been thinking about for the au, ranging from important plot stuff to silly side-character shenanigans :]

Featuring (in order): Rito Grian (who may or may not be the stand-in for Tulin in totk), Rito False (Rito warrior!), Rito Lomadia (who becomes the rito elder by totk), botw Nano who’s infected by malice and swears she’s no more feral or violent than normal because of it, Stable owner Jimmy who’s NOT related to Grian despite what Grian keeps telling all of their friends, Stable owner Bdubs who claims to have the best horse stock in all of Hyrule, an updated Nano design for totk and Etho who has similar gloom scars, and… whatever Doc has going on. Haven’t figured out the logistics yet, but I think it’d be hilarious if what happened to link’s arm somehow happened to Doc’s face. I had to Doc-ificate his face somehow and this was too funny of a concept not to at least draw DFBJGB

Part 5 of the Linked Universe Winged Au! In the last poll you guys all voted for him so here he is, Wild!

As always, there has to be a silly little bird fact to start off with so did you know that the American Kestrel is the smallest falcon in North America and only weighs about 3-6 ounces which is the equivalent of 34 pennies? This fact isn't actually important lore wise for this headcanon, but it did remind me of the one post where someone discovered that BoTW Link weighs approximately 8.5 apples.

Anyways, as you may have guessed, Wild is heavily based on the American Kestrel because of their beautiful plumage and their unique behaviors and characteristics.

An example of one of these behaviors is that American Kestrels are known for capitalizing on favorable soaring conditions, such as mountain updrafts and thermals while traveling. In this headcanon, Wild shows this characteristic primarily through his use of Revali's Gale and his tendency to make fires in order to more easily take flight. While his methods are incredibly effective, they do also tend to scare the rest of the group the first time he does them. After all, it's not everyday you see someone make a fire and then run headfirst into it just to take off.

While this specific habit of his may appear to just be a funny little quirk that he just does because he's WILD, it's actually a result of his near death experience with Guardians. The scars on his face and body may be clearly visible to everyone around him, but the damage done to his wings is actually far less noticeable. His various injuries and scars actually have a major impact on his ability to take off and effect his stamina needed to maintain flight for long periods of time. Because of this, he tends to use the aforementioned methods to aid his flight or oftentimes simply chooses to leap off high surfaces and glide rather than attempt to take flight.

However, despite having difficulties with the initial takeoff and his struggles to maintain flight for long periods of time, he's actually very adept and capable of fighting in the air. The way he fights allows him to deliver sharp, agile, and accurate killing blows to his enemies in a way that others describe as, "Witnessing time seemingly slowing down for everyone but him." In other words, he's a real force to be reckoned in once he's finally airborne.

Decided to do more with the BOTW au I thought up the other day :]

You wake up to the sound of draining water all around you. (Do you always sleep submerged in water? You don't think so, but then it's hard to remember anything.)

You don't know how long you were asleep for. (Were you asleep? Your body feels strange as the water dries on your skin, especially on those scars of yours.)

You reach out with your mind as you try to sit up – it comes so naturally that you don't think this is peculiar at all. (You'll later learn that nobody else can do this – not to the extent that you can, at least.)

As you reach out, your thoughts touch another mind – but their thoughts are slow yet precise, like they're trapped in honey. (The voice is both completely alien and wholly comforting all at once.)

The voice calls you Zelda. He tells you to grab your Sheikah Slate. (Brief glimpses flash through your mind as you grab the slate, and you notice how comfortably it rests in your palms. You already know all the buttons and controls by heart.)

You put on the weathered clothes that are not-quite-right on you, and step out into the wild. (The castle in the distance fills you with a regret you don't understand.)

You find an old man sitting by the fire. (When you're next to him, you suddenly feel like you're a small child with the weight of the world on your shoulders. The sadness in his eyes makes you think he knows.)

The monsters terrify you, but you steel yourself for the voice you heard. (A corner of your mind imagines a knight. You're not yet sure why.)

None of these monster-made weapons feel right in your hands, but the bow at least feels a little more natural. (Were you always so intimately aware of how the wind affects an arrow's flight?)

You stand atop the tower you raised from the ground, and the voice speaks to you again – his name is Link. (You find comfort in the name. The old man seems solemn when you mention Link.)

Exploring the Shrines delights you, and unlocking the powers of the Sheikah Slate captures your curiosity. (The word "Finally" crossed your mind when you opened the first Shrine – you don't know why.)

The old man is acting strange when he suddenly vanishes in ghostly flames. (Your mind latches onto that phrasing.)

When you're speaking to the Goddess Statue, you don't know what to feel. (Is it resentment? Is it relief? You don't understand, not yet.)

The old man reveals everything to you. He was the King of Hyrule. Link was the Hero of Legend. You are Princess Zelda. (For some reason, you don't find much comfort in knowing it was your father with you up here.)

He tells you about how the Champions died. (You made them Champions.)

He tells you about the powers you have. (You failed the kingdom because you didn't unlock them fast enough.)

He tells you how Link sealed himself away with Calamity Ganon for the past century. (All because you failed him.)

The king gives you a paraglider and commands you to save Hyrule. (That was all he ever expected from you.)

You stand at the edge of the Great Plateau for a moment, terrified, before you leap. (Link is waiting for you.)

You are Zelda. (This is your legend.)
