I love a good fantasy, and with truly fond memories of reading some fantastic YA fantasy novels back in the late 80’s/early 90’s (there are some I’d love to read again but can’t remember titles), I will happily read either.

Engaging and compelling, Songlight pulled me in from the very first chapter and I read this, eager to see what next - and wow, I’m definitely looking forward to the next two titles.

The Lantern of Lost Memories by Sanaka Hiiragi

Heartwarming, bittersweet, moving, and life affirming, this pulled me in immediately, kept my attention, and made me really reflect on my own life and memories. 

I love a novel that makes me think as much as this did, and I adored The Lantern of Lost Memories. 

An absolute gem of a story, and a definite recommendation from me.

Book 6, part 2…. Secret Manors

she grabs Aromond’s arm and pulls her through the torrent and up out into a cold night. The hatch slams behind them onto Aromonds coat. “leave it". They both shiver through the night. A group of skeletal faced desert men find them and offer them warmth and comfort inside massive floating tents pulled by silver hovering robots. “how will you get me home” she asks. “in my house, in the secret basement are electronic screen visors, look through them and they will show you streams of light in the air. The screen will tell you which one to grasp hold of, it will take you home.

My advice to anyone who wants to write fiction, start with architecture!
