Ok, so I'm fairly new to the 1d fandom due to the unfortunate fact that I was born, like, two years before the band was formed. And, like, I became a part of the ziam fandom around an year ago (ilysm's videos and scottmcniceass' works on ao3 were my gateway drugs basically). Although I only got comfortable with Tumblr and social media a few months back (I'm a 16 year old fyi. A really inexperienced one), I found comfort in a lot of old ziam blogs (like yours; love your art), and since writing has always been my safe space, I decided that once next year came around and my hectic school life calmed down a bit I would post fanfics on ao3 -- mostly because there are a lot of stories I wish to share about the boys. I posted one in February before life got in the way (lol).

This past month I've been rereading a lot of my old favorites for that sense of comfort and, well, nostalgia, but I just can't bring myself to write a story with liam in it even though I want to. There's one part of me that knows that this is my way of showing love and reverence for someone. But then there's the other part of me that feels like it's just wrong. I don't know. Your thoughts?

omgosh youre a baby directioner 😭❤️ the way i see it, as long as you're not being disrespectful or bringing harm to liam's memory in any way, i don't see why it would be a problem. writing is a form of art and expression, and we all know how liam was a huge advocate of expressing yourself in all forms. but please do whatever you feel is right. i personally hope that people continue to write about him because, for me, it keeps his memory alive even if it's through a fictional world. i would be more distraught if people chose to stop writing about him completely 😢

1. Just Lay With Me (givemesumaurgravy) - Louis is the coach of Harry’s daughter’s football team and Harry likes Louis’ bum. One day there’s a parent football game and Louis, just maybe, starts hitting on Harry and, just maybe, Harry gives in.

2. Whether Clouds or Clear Skies (onewasturning) - Louis gets into the habit of stealing baked goods while Harry’s busy keeping tabs on the weather.

3. Take My Hand (and My Heart and Soul) (bananasandboots) - Harry hasn’t spoken to his best friend in sixteen months and he can’t remember why.

4. Nothing Else but Us Right Here (supernope) - Louis sighs and gives himself a mental pep talk as he smooths his jumper down over his hips. He can do this. What Louis doesn’t expect is to somehow fall in love and end up having to face what he was running from all along.

Two Halves of a Blue Sky (dea_liberty) - Harry had tried to get used to the attention fame had brought him - had learned to at least pretend to deal with the rumours and speculation about every aspect of his life - but after being outed all too publicly, it all became too much. It’s especially no excuse for giving him a male PA who’s possibly the most gorgeous boy in the world who won’t even let Harry look at him for too long. Sometimes Harry hates his life.

Marte, do you also have a problem with reading fics after last week? I read so many people are struggling now and I am very much the same - I´m just reading a fic where´s whole OT5 and eventho the story is mainly focus on HL, I can´t comeback to it and just like others I feel like something which brought me the most joy and comfort has been taken away from me. Maybe reading fics where´s only HL will be a solution for the current situation but still I can´t detach myself from real HL knowing they are struggling right now and I don´t know if they are alright especially Louis.

Omg, yes!!! I haven't been able to read fics since Liam's passing, i'm too sad and i struggle to concentrate and not just stare off into space. I haven't gone that long without reading fics for a decade! Fics usually give me an escape and are my comfort place, but i just haven't been able to do it.

Yesterday i tried to think of a fic that always brings me comfort, one that i've read a million times before, and that i know will give Liam the happy ending he deserves after overcoming challenges. So i started reading "Permanent" by scottmcniceass. I'm not that far into it yet, but it helped me heal something in me, reminded me how much i love Liam and how much i love fan fiction. I think i chose the perfect fic for me, because i've got half an hour to go at work and i'm sitting here wanting to race home and continue reading.

So if you want to get into fics again, maybe try one of your absolute favourite fics, one who never fails to entrance, comfort and distract you. That helped me at least.
