Everyone's out here making angst about the Scott, Cleo, Pearl, and Impulse team or insisting it's going to end terribly, meanwhile I'm out here interpreting this as a double date. Scott and Impulse are a slow building cute lil romance meanwhile Cleo and Pearl are toxic yuri with every issue ever but they kiss about it. The argument could be made for a polycule vibe bc I do think Impulse and Cleo could be interesting.

Impulse being the only person who Scott Major has agreed to team up with twice in a row keeps me up at night, man. Scott purposefully avoids teaming up with people twice in a row for content’s sake, but he made an exception for Impulse. I understand that Gem and the Scotts didn’t get to spend much time getting to know each other due to the tasks in Secret Life, but it’s still kind of a big deal. Additionally, Gem and the Scotts was the first team Scott’s been on that lost in 3 seasons, so that may contribute as to why Scott felt comfortable enough teaming with Impulse again, but I still think about it. Additionally, Impulse doesn’t really care to leave his circle of friends often. I know he’s gotten a lot closer to the other Lifers, but Scott is the only person Impulse met through the Life Series who Impulse teamed with twice. That’s huge for him. Scott’s also the only person at all who Impulse has teamed with twice in a row. Impulse has so much love and respect for Scott, specifically the duality between Scott before and after being allowed to kill. They drive me kind of nuts, those two.

[SL] scott is an allay hybrid. impulse and gem only start figuring this out when scott starts giving them ‘random’ gifts. gem gave him one golden apple, but scott keeps finding more for her? it’s touching, but it makes it hard to figure out what his secret task is. impluse can’t get mad- it’s how allays show love!

Golden apples are at least useful! Gem didn't realise how much useless stuff they share between each other until Scott started bringing them twice as much back.

Impulse has started asking for cheekier things. Like asking Scott to bring him back kisses. Gem didn't know he had it in him!
