Underrated SCP List

I’ve decided to create an updated list of my favorite relatively-unknown skips, as well as other articles I think more people should know about. I’m leaving out the more popular ones like 682 or 049, since it’s easy to find and get info about those. These are SCPs that, tragically, tend to get overlooked.

Normal SCPs

SCP-001 (Dr Mann’s Proposal) The real juicy stuff here isn’t in the file itself, it’s in the attached O5-clearance document. And good lord, the implications give me chills.

SCP-001 (S Andrew Swann’s Proposal) It’s us.

SCP-370 (A Key) Don’t look. Don’t look. DON’T LOOK.

SCP-408 (Illusory Butterflies) The booooterflies! Kondraki’s best friends :3

SCP-413 (Endless Garage) SCPs can play pranks too.

SCP-447 (Ball of Green Slime) Could also be named ‘Too Bad We Can’t Market This’. I would recommend reading the experiment log.

SCP-504 (Critical Tomatoes) You know the trope where bad actors and comedians get tomatoes thrown at them? Well...

SCP-507 (Reluctant Dimension Hopper) Poor 507! He hasn’t been the same since he came back from 99P-UT1-24J. Or 952-7YD-ABBA, for that matter. Read the log!

SCP-597 (The Mother of Them All) This one is either incredibly unsettling, weirdly soothing to think about, or a godawful mixture of both.

SCP-632 (Intrusive Arachnid Thoughts) Arachnophobe’s Worst Nightmare. Don’t read if you’re scared of spiders.

SCP-743 (A Chocolate Fountain) …At least they get a good meal first?

SCP-939 (With Many Voices) Thorough and creepy. Especially 939-101! I can’t tell whether I should be scared or pitying. Do not read if people getting eaten freaks you out, and don’t read the ‘scp-939 reproduction’ page if decapitation (or internal parasites, possibly) is a squick.

SCP-1155 (Predatory Street Art) I would like to see who would win between this and 173.

SCP-1171 (Humans Go Home) To borrow the words of tumblr user @arctic-chameleonus... my thembro Beauremont got fucking catfished.

SCP-1459 (The Puppy Machine) Once you get past the inherent horror of the scenario, the test log is actually pretty damn funny. Or maybe I’m just nuts.

SCP-1545 (Larry the Loving Llama) Guys, stop calling him by all those different names - his name’s Larry.

SCP-1730 (What Happened to Site-13?) This one is a long, horrifying read - and it’s absolutely breathtaking. If you have time to kill and a taste for human corruption at its worst, come take a look!

SCP-2316 (Field Trip) You do not recognize the bodies in the water.

SCP-2357 (The Perfect SCP) The resignation letter of a Foundation employee... who specialized in memes and infohazards. If you’re not familiar with the Foundation-standard usage of those words, this is an easy and fun article to get a taste.

Cross-SCP Termination Testing for SCP-682

Due to the highly aggressive, adaptive, and intelligent nature of SCP-682, termination testing has been ordered, with clearance from O5 Command. With major concerns raised about possible developed immunities (due to the failure of SCP-409) and possible adaptations, all tests must first be carried out on tissue samples taken from SCP-682. This step may be bypassed only by O5 Command order.

Item: Wade Wilson "Deadpool"

Tissue Test Record: Overridden by O5-Command.

Termination Test Record: SCP-682 introduced to testing area. "Deadpool" immediately lunges at SCP-682 with arms spread wide. He is immediately caught in the jaws of SCP-682, the force of its bite breaking his spine with a large crack. "Deadpool" appears to be unfazed and despite several major bone breaks attempts to engage with SCP-682. SCP-682 attempts to break containment with "Deadpool" in its jaws. SCP-682 deposits "Deadpool" in the nearest waste disposal container and then returns to the far corner of its containment area. SCP-682 issued expletives towards the staff present and threatened to kill more during its next escape attempt if it was subjected to such a test again. Notes: It is unclear who among O5 command authorized this test, it predictably only served to annoy SCP-682. No casualties resulted form this containment breach and the remains of "Deadpool" were quickly disposed before he could cause more trouble.

Hehe just thought of the dumbest thing, you know those big ole bug zappers? So imagine this. So its summer, bugs are pretty bad, so Professor Membrane sets up some stupidly complex bug zapper outside that’s so overtly bright and dumb looking. Cut to nightfall, Dib is woken up by a very loud zapping sound every few minutes or so and someone yelling everytime, he puts on his glasses and peers outside. And, is fuckin Zim. Zim’s without his disguise on, eyes glimmering and just fuckin locked in on this bug zapper, and the idiot just. Keeps. Trying to touch it. And Dib just. Watches. Cause this idiot just keeps doing it, yelping and pulling back everything but just keeping on. Like and eventually GIR comes by and just drags him off whining about how it’s time for Waffles or something and Zim just let’s him and Dib sits there before realizing Zim was literally right there without his disguise on. And the next day Zim absolutely denys anything Dib tries to ask him about it. But when Dib goes home the whole thing is just up and missing, like someone stole it. Like that’d be hilarious.

Wilbur just settled back, humming, “I dunno, just channel surfing.”

Tommy nodded lazily, leaning back before he paused, quickly scrambling to right himself, “Uhhhhh… Wilbur?”

A light grunt as the older contuined flicking through the channels.

”Look at the wall.”

Wilbur‘s brow furrowed as he turned to do so, freezing when he saw it to.

Something that looked eerily like blood was scribbled aggressively on said wall, merely reading ‘football.’

”The fuck?” Tommy scrambled off the couch to get a closer look, peering out the living room to see if Techno was coming back yet.

Wilbur tsked, giving the wall one more look before shaking his head and going back to his channel surfing.

The TV started to flicker with static.

Tommy looked over with wide eyes as Wilbur said loudly, “Oh, fuck off! You can watch football later.”

That was the wrong thing to say apparently, several pillows and items around the room suddenly beginning to swirl around, the static growing louder, and the air becoming bitterly cold.

Tommy blinked at the activity, normally, Dream was a lot less active. He could see his fucking breath as he spoke, “Wil… you, uh, sure that’s a good idea?”

Wilbur ignored him, the stubborn ass, “He's dead, he can wait.”

The pillows and small trinkets froze, before slowly turning towards him, Wilbur slowly getting to his feet as his eyes grew wider.

Then he was dodging all manners of pillows, cups, random bits of trash, etc.

”TECHNOOOOOO!” Wilbur yelped as a quarter was flung straight into his forehead. “YOUR GHOST IS FUCKING THROW STUFF AT ME!”

Tommy just watched as Wilbur retreated to the kitchen, ducking behind the counter, glasses ascrew. Techno stumbled in a moment later, “Heh?” He blinked slowly at the scene he came across before saying suddenly, “You changed the channel didn’t you?”

Wilbur just blinked up at him as the other grumbled, moving past Tommy as he grabbed the remote. He stood there a moment before it was snatched from his hand by an unseen hand, the now seemingly floating remote hurriedly turning to the TV, static coming to a stop, and hurriedly flipping back to the channel it was originally on.

The remaining floating objects dropped to the floor, the temperate increased as Techno looked to Tommy, rolling his eyes, “We made a deal, so if you ever see football playing, don’t be a dumbass and change it.”

Techno seemed to ignore Tommy’s pale face, instead directing his gaze to the couch, “Overdramatic much? Also, Dream, you’re cleaning this up, got it?”

He seemed to wait for something, glaring at the thin air until the thin air seemed to give him an answer he approved of. “Good.”

Techno scratched lazily at his face before walking to get some coffee. Wilbur peered up, “But I wanted to watch TV!”

A nearby light flickered warningly and the man hurridly hid behind his brother. “Technooooo,” he whined.

The man just shoved Wilbur away, “Hey, Dream‘s like my actual roommate. You’re just an annoying- I don’t even remembering inviting you.”

”I’m hurt.”

This mini DSMP writing is heavily inspired by @beaskaa and @ryucreates with their designs for Dream being an axolotl hybrid, except in this, Dream is just straight up an axolotl. The mask gives him a human form, but like, under that? Just a straight up homicidal axolotl with an unhealthy addiction to explosions and control.

I mean, like it just amuses me to think of lmao, lil axolotl man craving destruction

This was it. This was the final time he told himself that he’d have to deal with Dream. The masked man stood before him, stepping back as Tommy drew out the Blade of Peace.

Tommy stepped forward, Dream scrambled back. Then he raised the axe, face twisted before bringing it down on that fucking mask, and oh, wasn’t it satisfying how it crumbled?

How for the briefest of moments, as it split under the blade’s blow, he saw the man’s face. Wide black eyes, mouth slightly agape in shock, before Dream fell.

The room was quiet save for Tommy’s footsteps fast approaching… until the teen noticed something. Dream… wasn’t there anymore?

The blonde froze staring down at the pile of clothes before something moved. And quietly, he heard a few curses muffled by the hoodie before something wiggled out from the clothing.

Tommy blinked, the SMP stared, and the fucking axolotl stared back. Then it spoke and eveyone flinched at the pure backlash at hearing DREAM’S VOICE come out the mouth of a small, yellow AXOLOTL, “Does anyone have a bucket of water?”

No one replied, because, well what the fuck? The axolotl- Dream????- stared around with beady black eyes before its eyes seemed to narrow in annoyance. “Water? Hello?”

Someone seemed to snap out the stupor, Sapnap it sounded like, “DREAM!?!??”

”No. I’m just a talking axolotl with the same exact voice— YES YOU IDIOT!” The voice would have been terrifying from the man before but Tommy couldn’t help but find this so fucking hilarious.

What. The. Fuck?! A hysterical giggle pushed past Tommy’s lips and the teen crumbled as he coughed up a lung, because holy shit? What the fuck!

The axolotl- Dream- had the nerve to glare at him. “Fuck off!”

Tommy just laughed harder, “YOU’RE AN AXOLOTL!”

Dream grumbled and the small amphibian tried to climb down from the pile of clothes before tumbling off, squeaking as he hit the ground.

Tommy was practically rolling on the ground at that, Tubbo making a soft coo at the fucking adorable ass noise. A few other people seemed to share the sentiment as someone- Niki or Puffy most likely- gasped out a sharp ‘AWWW.’

Dream hurriedly righted himself, voice squeaking slightly, “Hey! Don’t fucking awww at me! I blew up nations!”

Puffy walked over and crouched down, “Dream. You are literally one of the cutest things right now.”

Dream made an angry squeak and quite a few people started either giggling at that or whispering in soft tones about how fucking cute that was. Dream glared up at Puffy before yelping as someone scooped him into a bucket, looking back to see Tubbo staring back, eyes crinkled in amusement.

Dream’s glare narrowed, splashing his tail angrily before he sank down into the water in defeat. Tommy was still dying, stumbling to Tubbo’s side as he clutched his stomach, tears streaming down his eyes as he stared at the angry axolotl glaring at them from the bucket.

After a brief discussion, Dream occasionally popping out the bucket to curse them and swear he was going to destroy them all, the group headed back through the portal and to the SMP.

Because, while Sam had said awkwardly how they could just put Dream in a water basin in the prison (’Sam, what the fuck?’ ‘He‘s going to boil alive.’ ‘Really, Sam? Really.’) they decided to just put him in a fish tank in George’s house. George certainly didn’t protest, having taken the bucket easily from Tubbo as he happily said, “Hi, Dream.”

Dream had just poked his head out and replied drily, “Hi, George.”

Most of the SMP had wandered off by the , and now it was mostly just Tommy crouched beside the fish tank, grinning at the axolotl settled on a small throne (George had thought it was hilarious) before saying, “I guess I win.”

The axolotl just flicked him off, and Tommy snorted loudly as he headed outside to go met up with Tubbo.

That had been… something. He shoved Tubbo’s shoulder and grinned, “To the bench?”

Tubbo smiled back, “To the bench!”

You know what’s horrific about centaurworld? Is that these things are just so fucked up, and ever time one of these centaurs does something peculiar and downright disturbing like twist their head fully around, that’s actually happening. That’s just not the animation being quirky or over exaggerated. They state their magic allows them to do all these things. It’s horrifying and I love it. Looks like a rainbow nightmare. I want the realistic fanart.

What the Fuck. Centaurworld is so fucked up. What the hell, the Nowhere King will take delight in the light leaving your eyes, I am horrified, this is so messed up, this rainbow nightmare contuines and I can’t stop whispering ‘What the fuck’ what is happening, what is this show?! This keeps flipping rapidly from something I’d expect kids to watch to something I would only expect from adult swim and I am so confused. The songs also just really fucking slap tho? Also, I’m concerned on so many levels. Also they fucking referenced Cats. I- what? What is happening? What am I watching!?

WARNING: SCP-370 is an exceedingly contagious memetic infection. No cases of personnel being infected simply from reading this article have yet been recorded, but nevertheless as a precaution this document may only be read in a controlled environment with mechanisms in place to terminate the reader at the first symptoms. Spreading any information about SCP-370 by word of mouth is grounds for immediate termination.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-370 itself is embedded in a small slab of solid lead and kept inside a solid steel box with no openings and 0.5 meter thick walls. Under no circumstances is SCP-370 to be removed from either this box or the lead slab. If SCP-370 becomes partially or completely exposed, blindfolded personnel will be assigned to locate it with a metal detector. An electromagnet will then be used to transfer SCP-370 to a small mold filled with molten lead. Once this has hardened the lead slab containing SCP-370 will be returned to its steel box, and the box returned to its containment vault.

This box is kept in a specially designated vault at Site-██. SCP-370 requires no maintenance whatsoever and no research is authorized. Desire to open this vault to perform research on SCP-370 or for any other reason is a symptom of SCP-370 infection. Any personnel displaying this or any other symptoms must be quarantined immediately and terminated if symptoms persist.

SCP-370’s vulnerability status is unknown. No testing of this sort has been carried out, and no future testing is authorized due to the extreme risk of contagion to personnel involved.

D-class personnel with significant violent or sadistic tendencies are to be preferred in all interactions with SCP-370 or potentially SCP-370 contagious data.

All live broadcasting capability will be removed from any Foundation Site that shows signs of SCP-370 presence and restored one (1) year after the last SCP-370 event.

Description: SCP-370 is a key. The size, shape, material and general appearance of SCP-370 are unknown. Knowledge of these characteristics is the primary vector for the spread of the SCP-370 disease, therefore all records thought to contain such information have been destroyed without review.

The disease caused by SCP-370 has three distinct sets of symptoms, designations SCP-370-a, b and c. The form of the disease appearing in any given subject appears to be determined primarily by personality.

- SCP-370-a manifests most frequently in subjects characterized by their peers as self-centered or cowardly. It is the most common manifestation. Subjects suffering from SCP-370-a show no symptoms upon the initial infection. However, these subjects will commit suicide as soon as they have an opportunity to do so with minimal suffering (for example, SCP-370-a victims will jump from high ledges or shoot themselves in the head with firearms, but will not cut their own wrists or hang themselves)16/4/10.

The instant the subject’s heart ceases to beat, the infected corpse will glow brilliantly and undergo an unknown transformation. Detailed knowledge of the transformation is a vector for the infection, as is direct visual contact with the light produced. No trace of any part of a subject’s corpse has ever been recovered following this transformation.

- The majority of SCP-370-b subjects are commonly described as both extroverted and altruistic, however, an identical manifestation of SCP-370-b appears in individuals with strong sadistic or violent tendencies. Subjects infected with SCP-370-b initially become very calm. This stage lasts for several seconds, and is followed by a sudden unprovoked assault on anyone within the subject's reach, which continues into an indiscriminate killing spree. Persons killed by the infected subject will glow brightly and undergo an unknown transformation, presumably the same or similar to that of the suicides.

Initially the infected subject is no more dangerous than an ordinary violent human, however after approximately killing two (2) to three (3) victims the subject’s body will begin to radiate yellow light. This light appears to inhibit the sympathetic nervous response of the subject’s victims, making it difficult for victims to fight back. After approximately five (5) to six (6) successful kills, the light triples in intensity and the direct skin-to-skin contact with the subject becomes deadly. At this point any eye contact with the victim becomes a contagious factor.

After killing an average of twelve (12) victims (subjects who were considered violent prior to infection may require as many as fifty (50) kills to reach this stage) the subject will abruptly cease hostilities and enter the final phase of SCP-370-b infection. Subjects will raise its arms skyward and shout in a slightly amplified voice, “████ take me home!” This sound seems to pass through soundproof walls and industrial strength earmuffs with only slight muffling. Infection of all human beings within earshot is virtually guaranteed, except in cases of sensory deafness. After this cry, a shaft of radiation in the visible spectrum forms around the subject, who will then levitate several feet above the ground before [REDACTED] and vanishing. As with SCP-370-a, no traces of the vanished subjects have ever been found.

- SCP-370-c manifests in subjects of high IQ and analytical or contemplative personality type and is the most dangerous of the three manifestations. Unfortunately the majority of the Foundation’s research staff are susceptible to SCP-370-c. Upon initial infection, subjects will close their eyes and remain voluntarily still and silent for an average of thirty (30) seconds. If questioned on this, subjects will claim to have been ‘praying.’ Any infected subjects detected at this stage must be terminated immediately and by any means necessary.

After the initial infection subjects will behave as normal, but with significant increase in ‘sense of well-being.’ This system persists even when the subject is forced into unpleasant conditions. Infected subjects seem to possess SCP-370 contagious knowledge about the appearance and exact nature of SCP-370 whether or not they have ever been exposed to such information. Subjects will actively and covertly attempt to spread SCP-370 infection, specifically targeting victims likely to manifest SCP-370-a or SCP-370-c. These efforts are likely to include but not limited to: - Mentioning SCP-370 contagious information in casual conversation. - Attempting to have SCP-370 removed from containment for research or attempted disposal. - Adding SCP-370 vectors to Foundation research notes or other documents, including this page. - Attempting to broadcast infectious material on a large scale.

After about fifty (50) successful infections SCP-370-c enters its final phase. During this phase the air around the subject radiates a small amount of light in the visible spectrum, creating a faint yellow glow around the subject. This glow induces a parasympathetic ‘calming’ response in viewers and has a █% chance of causing infection for every minute of visual contact. Within about a day of this radiation appearing, regardless of any further successful infections, a flaming [DATA EXPUNGED] burn marks on any surfaces it touches or passes through and leaving no trace of the infected subject. This event leaves behind an invisible patch of contagious space which infects anyone who passes through it. Patches seem to fade in approximately seven (7) days but as a precaution should be avoided for a full two (2) weeks.

It has become apparent that SCP-370-c infection is being used by some personnel as an excuse to torment and murder fellow Foundation staff. The personnel responsible have been demoted to D-class, however considering the enormous threat posed by SCP-370-c the containment protocol above will not be revised. - Dr ███████

Addendum 370-a:

The circumstances of SCP-370’s original retrieval are unknown. It was found in the ruins of Site-█, a remote Foundation base in eastern ████. These containment protocols in their original form and the described steel box were found in a sealed vault along with a single corpse, identified as Dr. █████, a known Satanist, and the Doctor's personal log, which was found to be SCP-370 contagious. The rest of the site was abandoned and no other dead bodies were found, although signs of struggle were ubiquitous. The rest of the site’s stored data on SCP-370 had been erased or destroyed, although a few useful notes on other SCPs were recovered, particularly SCP-███.

Several infection events occurred during recovery efforts. These were contained with extreme prejudice and the infection was believed extinct. SCP-370 was briefly designated ‘Safe’. However, in light of recent [DATA EXPUNGED] Keter designation has been restored and anti-memetic security has been tightened throughout all Foundation sites.

Addendum 370-b:

Dr. █████'s log has been successfully purged of memetic infectiousness and is cleared for viewing by authorized personnel. The same precautions described for reading this article also apply to the log.
