If you’re worried about manga price and people actually buying, you could always try to set up a kickstarter?
It’s alright, I’m just whining about spending money!
It will be a preorder thing to double check that it’s really possible before I do any super serious work on this. I’ll just need to make sure it’s possible to cover production and shipping costs before I commit too hard to the idea

Something I Noticed In The Episode ‘McMystery At McDuck Manor’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok. As shown in the episode ‘McMystery At McDuck Manor!’, Scrooge McDuck’s enemies like Flintheart Glomgold and Ma Beagle seemed to respect Duckworth but despise Ms. Beakley. So, I’ll be going over my thoughts on why Scrooge’s enemies seem to respect Duckworth but don’t hold that same respect for Beakley. Also, Spoiler Alert for the DuckTales (2017) TV series. With that out of the way, let’s dive right in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think that the reason why Scrooge’s enemies respect Duckworth but hate Beakley might come down to when Scrooge hired them. After all, Duckworth was hired by Scrooge long before Della was lost in space considering that, as shown in the episode ‘The First Adventure!’, Duckworth worked for Scrooge while Della was still a kid. And Beakley was probably hired by Scrooge after Della was lost in space since, as shown in the episode ‘Nothing Can Stop Della Duck!’, Della was surprised that Duckworth was dead and that Beakley replaced him, Duckworth’s death probably came shortly after Scrooge’s niece Della was lost in space. And Duckworth’s death happening so soon after Della’s disappearance was also pointed out by @sprklboo in their TBH The Extent Of The Abuse And Isolation That Bradford Enacted Towards Scrooge Is Not Talked About Enough post. And that means that Duckworth’s death along with Della’s disappearance probably caused Scrooge to become deeply isolated from the people around him. Also, I think that isolation not only caused Scrooge to push away his loved ones but also his enemies too. So, And, while Beakley was, as shown in the episode ‘Woo-oo!’, more than willing to help Scrooge connect with his loved ones, I doubt she would’ve been willing to let him interact with his enemies again which I’ll be elaborating on in my next point. Speaking of which…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘Woo-oo!’, Scrooge seemed so isolated by Duckworth’s death as well as Della’s disappearance that he didn’t want to talk to his great nephews at first. And if Scrooge was so isolated that he didn’t want to talk to his great nephews, he certainly wouldn’t have wanted to interact with his enemies either. That’s probably one of the reasons why Scrooge hired Beakley. He probably wanted her to make sure that his enemies left him alone. And Beakley was probably more than happy to oblige given all the trauma that Scrooge was put through and also the fact that, as shown in the episode ‘Woo-oo!’, Beakley has a no-nonsense attitude and wasn’t impressed with Scrooge trying to back to adventuring. And considering Beakley’s no-nonsense attitude and that she, as shown in the episode ‘From The Confidential Casefiles Of Agent 22!’, used to work as a spy, I think that Beakley was so strict with security that her effort to keep Scrooge’s enemies away from him came off as more frustrating to said enemies than anything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But while Beakley was able to keep Scrooge’s enemies away, she didn’t seem to be able to reunite him with his family as well. I think that one of the reasons for that is because Beakley isn’t exactly much of a social butterfly as shown in the episode ‘Friendship Hates Magic!’ where Beakley seemed out of her depth at first when it came to making friends with other people like Launchpad. And I think that’s because, given the fact that she, as I pointed out earlier, had a no-nonsense attitude and that she was a spy who worked for SHUSH, she probably didn’t have much time to make friends and probably had to constantly fight to keep the world safe from villains which probably means that Beakley was more used to being surrounded by enemies than by friends. So, Beakley probably wasn’t all that well-equipped to help Scrooge reunite with his family since she didn’t know much about forming close bonds with other people herself. And that’s probably one of the reasons why Bradford Buzzard didn’t try to get rid of Beakley despite the fact that, as stated in the episode ‘The Last Adventure! Part 3: Tale’s End…’, Bradford told Scrooge’s niece Della about the Spear Of Selene thus ensuring Della’s disappearance and that, as @yoshimickster pointed out in their …so…yeah…Bradford killed Duckworth didn’t he? post, he probably killed Duckworth too since he did show a picture of Scrooge mourning Duckworth as he was going over how he tried to isolate Scrooge. Given that, as shown in the episode ‘Woo-oo!’, both Bradford and Beakley worked for Scrooge and also that, as shown in the episode ‘Last Christmas!’, both of them attended Scrooge’s Christmas party, Bradford probably learned about Beakley’s lack of social skills at some point. Speaking of Bradford…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think that isolating Scrooge from both his friends and enemies was all part of Bradford’s plan to get Scrooge to give up on adventuring. After all, as stated in the episode ‘The Most Dangerous Game…Night!’, Scrooge gets really competitive when he’s trying to beat an enemy. So, Scrooge gets a real thrill out of taking down his enemies. And that’s probably why Bradford tried to isolate Scrooge from not only his loved ones but his enemies too in order to get him to give up on adventuring. Also, I think that another reason why Bradford didn’t try to get rid of Beakley is because her skills as a spy would be able to keep Scrooge’s enemies away from him. After all, as shown in the episode ‘The First Adventure!’, Bradford and Beakley were both members of SHUSH. So, Bradford probably knew about Beakley’s skills.
Well, that’s all for this post.
See you all next time.

Once Upon A Studio - Mickey Mouse and Friends - HAPPY 100TH ANNIVERSARY DISNEY STUDIO!
And it all started with a mouse. Joking aside, animation started earlier, but with this mouse a great revolution was started that really changed the world and changed the everyday life of people and children. 100 years ago, Walt Eliot Disney together with his brother Roy O. Disney, on October 16, 1923, founded The Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, which later became The Walt Disney Studio, or what we know today as Disney. In the beginning, they worked with M.J. Winkler Productions and made Alice Comedies before going independent. And the first characters were actually cats, Julius the Cat and Peg-Leg Pete, and then there was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and then Mickey Mouse in Steamboat Willie. And then they made some of the best classic shorts and animated films of all time and influenced others.
You can hate Disney for their policies, but you can't deny they haven't done a great job. Yes, I watched Once Upon A Studio and I thought it was great and thanks to Eric Goldberg and the other animators for how they did it and for connecting the 2D and 3D animation. Thank them!
And on the occasion of this, albeit belatedly, I drew the celebration that Mickey and his friends celebrate. Yes, I found inspiration in the comic cover from the Topolino comics drawn by Davide Cesarello and Marco Coletti on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Disney Studio. And besides Mickey, there is also his girlfriend Minnie, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Ortensia the Cat, Peg-Leg Pete (an almost hundred-year-old character), Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar, Goofy Goof, Donald and Daisy Duck, Pluto the dog, Figaro the cat, Chip and Dale, Huey, Dewey and Louie, Max Goof and Scrooge McDuck. Mostly the Famous Six and secondary characters who are very important. I wanted to add a few more, but not all of them would fit in this drawing. Sorry.
I hope you like this drawing of the 100th anniversary of Disney (and almost New Years) and these characters that are there. HAPPY 100TH ANNIVERSARY DISNEY! And if you like this, feel free to like and reblog this.

I just realized something.
The majority of the episodes Lena’s in take place mostly at night: “Beagle Birthday Massacre/Breakout”, “Terror of the Terra-firmians”, “Jaw$”, “Nightmare on Killmotor Hill”, “Shadow War”, “Phantom and the Sorceress”, or she’s in a location where it has dim lighting or is completely dark: “Terror of the Terra-firmians”, “Other Bin of Scrooge McDuck”, “Friendship Hates Magic”, and “Nightmare on Killmotor Hill”.
However, whenever something impacts her in a positive way, there’s a light shining on her, she’s in a well lit room or outside in the sunlight.
• In “Beagle Birthday Massacre/Breakout”, when she first meets Webby and they hit it off, the sun is setting. At the end of the episode, the sun is rising when she officially befriends Webby and the boys.
• In “Terror of the Terra-firmians”, when Beakley says she misjudged her and insists she’s allowed to be at the mansion whenever she wants, there’s a bright light shining down on them.
• At the end of “Jaw$”, the sun is rising when Lena realizes she doesn’t deserve to be treated the way that Magica’s been treating her and tries to walk away.
Tumblr media
• There’s a light shining on Lena when she’s completely defied her aunt and is about to come clean to Scrooge in “Other Bin of Scrooge McDuck”.
• In “Friendship Hates Magic”, only when Lena gets over her jealousy and accepts Violet, do they escape from the shadow realm and return to the manor with Lena eventually returning to her physical form.
• At the end of “Nightmare on Killmotor Hill”, it’s morning when the kids go outside and confront Magica, Lena realizes she’s in fact worth something to her friends and she doesn’t have to fear or feel like she needs to rely on her aunt anymore.
Tumblr media
• Lena shares moments with her family in “Challenge of the Senior Junior Woodchucks”. During the graduation ceremony she wraps her arm around Ty. Outside, she continues showing support for Violet. She, along with her dads celebrate Violet’s victory in a room that’s flooded with fire light.
• It’s morning at the end of “Phantom and the Sorceress”, after Lena gains her own magic and is able to defeat Blot, the girls go back to the mansion and see Scrooge and the boys are back safe.
Tumblr media
• In “Split Sword of Swanstantine”, it’s a clear day. Lena now possesses the ability to freeze time and delve into people’s mindscapes. She’s finally comfortable using her powers to help Huey, along with sharing with him how it’s okay to embrace your insecurities.
• At the end of “Last Adventure”, it’s another clear day as she makes a bracelet for May, reassuring her that she and June belong with them.
Tumblr media
All of this could’ve been seen as foreshadowing the entire time.
Am I looking too much into this? Probably.
I just find it interesting how significant light is whenever something positive happens for her character.

So I finished DuckTales (2017), my thoughts:
⚠️ Spoilers ahead ⚠️
- Bradford Buzzard:
His feelings for hating adventure and chaos is valid but he should have told his grandma to fuck off and got therapy instead of trying to destroy it. Also its not his fault that Della took the Spear of Selene even if he told her about it.
You can’t have one thing without the other, there must be chaos if there is stability and vice versa.
- Webbigail Vanderquack and Bentina Beakly (Agent 22):
It was a good twist, but it makes me question where FOWL got Scrooge’s DNA to make Webby and why her exact clones (sisters) aren’t perceived as Scrooges kid like Webby is.
My theory: “The Papyrus of Binding only appears to a direct heir of Scrooge McDuck” I think it mean’s physically and emotionally. If June and May are Webby’s clones that means they are just as much Scrooge’s physical child as Webby is, except they don’t have a relationship with Scrooge. Scrooge even before knowing Webby was his kid thought of her like his Grandniece, like family, making her an heir like the boys.
For how much Beakly talked about how important and strong a family is together when getting the boys to talk to Scrooge again in Season 1, it doesn’t make much sense to have her go in alone without informing the family of what she knows of FOWL from SHUSH.
Goldie O’Gilt:
I love her so much, except in the ImpossiBin episode, there she was okay. At the end of the ImpossiBin episode Goldie calls Scooge assuming he took the fountain of youth when they agreed to keep it for both of them, (she went back to steal it for herself so she says). They made progress in the Youth Fountain episode and having Goldie call him about it being gone kinda defeats the whole purpose of their bonding in that episode. Except I understand they needed a character to tell him it was gone like the other missing mysteries but I find it defeated the whole point.
Lena and Violet Saberwing:
To me it looked like Violet’s parents adopted Lena and I’m all for that. Also love the hinted gay rep with their dads.
Magica De spell:
While it was Scrooge that blocked her spell, it was still her spell that she shot that turned her brother into a raven. Theres no reason or obligation for Scrooge to have caught him and give him to her when they were both terrible people. If anything her brother got a new chance at life as a raven instead.
I wish there was kinda a redemption arc when she was training Lena, if not for Lena a little redemption for Gladstone because I like those two.
Fenton Crackshell (GizmoDuck) and DarkWing Duck:
I like Drake with Fenton regardless if he’s Drake or playing DarkWing but I feel like he needs to accept that GizmoDuck is also a hero. Bro needs to know the difference between hero and vigilante.
Fenton is pretty bbg too <3
Launchpad McQuack:
Giant himbo and I love him so much.
Daisy Duck:
Love her, not much else to say. She had standards, that was clear when we heard what she said while driving away from their second date except she still fell in love and was willing to put up with Donald enough to go rescue him and keep going out. Overall a girl boss <3
Huey, Dewey and Louie:
While Dewey should have come forward earlier about looking for Della I understand his intentions more then Huey did when he found out. Louie was right, its not okay, but in the beginning Dewey was just trying to find if she was alive or not, not where she was. He was sorry because he ‘got caught’, he was genuinely sorry. It’s difficult to want to tell someone you’re finding all this stuff about someone you all seek when none of you know if they’re even alive or not. Dewey didn’t want them to lose hope that Della may be alive even if he found out she might not have. Yes he should have told them but I understand he didn’t want to them to be more hurt that she’s unalive instead of just missing. Also they aren’t even teenagers and communication skills are ass with teenagers what makes you think they’ll be any better as 10 year olds?
Again, their anger is misplaced when they’re mad at Scrooge for building a Spear of Selene.
Scrooge McDuck (sugar daddy?):
I like his character and I feel theres a bit of development through out the show with him and the kids, to be a teacher you need to be able to learn from your students.
While yes, he shouldn’t have built the rocket right there he also didn’t tell Della about it. Not his fault she left. Also the audacity to find out it wasn’t really his fault or the fact he nearly went bankrupt looking for her and they didn’t apologize at all.
Donald Duck (DILF):
Literally the best man in the whole show. He put his family first the whole time even when he should have taken breaks except he stepped up. We know that he had some form of falling out with Scrooge because of Della but even so he stepped up to take the kids and stayed in DuckBurg instead of moving anytime in the 10+ years they lived there. I have a feeling they stayed because he knew deep down that he could somewhat still count on Scrooge if not Beakly. Why else would he have stayed and gone to Beakly to watch the kids, granted he didn’t want to talk to Scrooge, Scrooge still took them in and watched them while Donald was off getting a job.
Donald may not be their bio-dad, but he is no way a fucking Uncle. He raised those boys by himself for 10+ years, through their formative years and until they were old enough to know he wasn’t their bio-dad. He stepped in to be a parent because Della chickened out and chose to go to space even when he told her she shouldn’t so she can be with her kids.
Donald Duck, not an uncle, a father.
Della Duck (cool-ish weird Aunt):
My opinion has not changed, she still isn’t a mother to me. Della is an estranged aunt that comes by and is the ‘cool aunt’. She willingly, without obligation, without threat, consciously CHOSE to leave her kids. Regardless of if she knew she would get killed or stuck in space, “there were too many variables” -Huey. She had a fight with Donald that specifically told her that it was a giant, dumb fucking idea with kids on the way. The idea that anyone would accept her back as a parent so blindly is so dumb. Yes she’s their egg-layer, but there is no way in hell she is their mother. A MOTHER would never choose to leave their children unless they positively fucking had too (obligation for safety). Whether or not she regrets it holds no power because she still chose to leave for a stupid reason.
Season 1 finale: “Get away from my kids” by Donald Duck will forever hold more power and significance then anytime she ever says it because she gave up parent rights before they were born. No parent would willingly, without valid cause like their safety (not fucking exploring space for funzys) would leave their child.
Over all:
Scrooge and Donald are DILFS and Della can get bent.

mom doing my hair. turned ducktales on the tv while she did it because it takes 90 minutes to do this thing. we reach the golden lagoon of white agony plains. I love the golden lagoon of white agony plains.
it has taken her sixteen episodes to realize that David Tennant is Scrooge McDuck and she only knows because we told her. she screamed with joy.
halfway through the episode. she looks at me. and she says "M, I've figured out what your problem is" [we've had to explain to at least four people in the last two days that no, I don't have a boyfriend, because I have high standards and most men my age are lame.] she says "M, your problem is that you're searching for Scrooge McDuck to marry."
I put my phone down. take a deep breath. and another. I'm just an eighteen year old girl living in the Midwest and my mother has informed me that I am single because my ideal man is Scrooge McDuck.
"okay."
"am I wrong?"
the worst part is I can't outright say she's wrong because it would be a lie. "he's kind of a loser." Scrooge is onscreen chasing a trail of gunpowder. I hate that this is happening to me.
"he's adventurous and intelligent!"
"and emotionally closed off."
"....that's fair."
"but, hey, you're living proof that you can make it work!"
she probably should not have laughed at this but she did. my father was not in attendance. poor man

DT17 Anniversary Posting
So I've heard around the cafeteria that there's a theme for today centered around people's favorite episodes. Well, I don't have [a] favorite episode. But I can narrow it down to 1 per season, so let's go with that.
(P.S. if you were tagged in this post it's because I gave you cool people a shoutout at the end.)
S1: The Last Crash of the Sunchaser!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When I first watched this show, this episode was the one where I realized things were serious. This wasn't just a funny duck show. It's definitely still funny and a duck show, but it's so much more than that.
On Disney+, this episode comes right after Lena is possessed by Magica, so my mind was 100% on that heading in. Instead, we got the resolution to Dewey's arc and the mystery of Della Duck... or so we thought!
Sure, we found out Della's fate, but that was almost secondary to the family drama, especially between Dewey and Scrooge. It's very intense, and even when we get the answers we're looking for, the questions all change.
I don't need to explain why this episode is good. It just is. The fact that I picked this episode, and not a Lena-centric one, shows how good it is.
S2: A Nightmare on Killmotor Hill!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright fine. One Lena episode.
After Lena was brought back in "Friendship Hates Magic!", the question was, where do we go from here? I think they handled it very well, integrating her back into the kids' friend group while still letting the effects of Magica's abuse linger on.
I really enjoy the idea of characters' dreams showing their deepest fears and desires. The kind of stuff they would otherwise stash away when they're awake. This episode took that concept and sprinted with it.
I still think we ought to have had more sleepover episodes with all of the kiddos. When everybody is fighting for screen time in Season 3, this episode shows how you can balance several characters at once, even if Lena was the one getting the majority of the attention. The "Swanstantine" episode is another good example of this.
I mean, come on. We got Webby dressing herself up as Scrooge McDuck as soon as she realized she could do whatever she wanted. It was foreshadowed from the beginning!
S3: Astro B.O.Y.D.!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've talked about this one before. It's one of my favorite pieces of autism rep. Boyd's journey in this episode really resonated, as well as his relationship with Huey.
In my opinion, the best part about it is how Huey relates to Boyd. Specifically not because he's a robot, but how Huey sees him as just a kid, just like him. The robot part is more of a neat quirk than anything. He's wired differently, literally, but they deserve a chance to be themselves.
And I appreciate how "Astro-B.O.Y.D!" gives Boyd a purpose as a character. I thought the bit in the Doofus episode where the villains try to pull the same con as Louie was fun, but Boyd didn't feel like much of a character, or at least no more of one than Sharkbomb was.
So "Astro-B.O.Y.D!" takes a character that very well could have had a one-off bit role, and made him something special. Made him somebody that a viewer can relate to, just as Huey did in the episode. Even just for 22 minutes, Boyd felt special. I felt special. I felt seen.
So yeah, that's my three. The fact that I can sit here and ramble about a half-decade old show that ended before I found it, is really cool. I'm so glad to have the chance to hang out with everybody here, whether we're discussing the best show in the history of time or doing literally anything else.
Shoutout to the people rallying the troops for today's anniversary... @secret-tester @justaboot @alexcanine @boingodigitalart @yeyeducks @cookieruby @the-richest-duck ... and to everyone else who's participated not just today but any day. We wouldn't be a community without the fine folks in it.

Quick break from the bad batch brainrot, but:
One of the hilarious side effects of the various attempts to give Scrooge McDuck a backstory in various comics is that the name gets even more ridiculous. He’s called “Scrooge McDuck” because Carl Barks needed an Ebenezer Scrooge stand-in for a Christmas issue of the Donald Duck comics. He needed a ducky antagonist, so he slapped that name on him and made him Donald Duck’s jerk-ass uncle who hates everyone.
Eeexcccceeeept that the comic readers liked the character, and Barks did too, so he kept coming back, got a more solid characterization after a few different iterations, and then eventually got his own comic series. Which ran for decades. They’re all almost one off episode stories, but Barks, Scarpa, and others kept inventing other characters (parents, siblings, various Duck relatives) connected to Scrooge and Donald as needed, later comic writers/artists on both sides of the Atlantic made attempts to tie it all together into different backstories, and so.
What you end up with.
Is this whole extended Duck-McDuck-Coot family full of people who either have perfectly normal-if-old-fashioned people names (Fergus, Matilda, Hortense, Molly, Elvira, Donald, Gladstone, Casey, etc) or bird pun names (Fethry, Downy, Eider, Roast, etc) aaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnd Scrooge.
Which isn’t a real name. It’s something Charles Dickens just made up and that Barks ran with. Because he named Scrooge according to his one-off antagonist naming conventions and then unexpectedly went and made him a main character. And, yes, the most sensible option here is to just ignore how silly it is in context, because it’s a collection of Disney comics about ducks.
The funnier option, though? The funnier option is to actually think about Fergus and Downy McDuck living in mid-century Scotland a couple decades after the publication of the only book in which the name “Scrooge” appears, having their first kid, and then deciding to name their kid that. Like it wasn’t tempting fate or asking for trouble. I’m too amused by this.

I made a Tumblr account ages ago then immediately forgot I had it LMFAO- though now that I'm in the Ducktales fandom (or what's left of it) I thought I'd return so I can share my Ducktales OC with the world!
His name is Polly Buzzcock and he's a British punk rockstar whose social media following tops Mark Beaks' by exactly 1. They hate each other a lot but I think Polly hates Mark more.
Polly has a particular hatred for rich people, especially if they don't work hard or appreciate what they have, though he still decides to park his van/home right outside Scrooge McDuck's mansion for the sake of tormenting the old man. He also hates superheroes because he thinks they're "performative tossers that profit off of people's problems to make themselves feel better". So like... don't tell him that his boyfriend is actually Gizmoduck...

what is the plot of the partners in crime AU?
hi anon. thank you. THANK YOU for this ask. okay so um
basically it's an au in which, following della's disappearance, a few things happen. Differently from canon
putting everything under the cut because it's A Lot lmfao. enjoy
the fallout is much, much worse. scrooge and donald both really lose their temper and tear into each other, and donald essentially disowns himself entirely from the mcduck clan. think stan saying "as far as i'm concerned, [the kids]'re the only family i have left." at the end of a tale of two stans. (or not, if you haven't watched gravity falls, but YOU GET THE POINT.
scrooge burns through his money bin a lot quicker in the search for della. he's desperate not only to see her again, but also as much as he hates to admit it, he fucking misses donald- but after the mess he made, neither of them are willing to admit that, much less reach out to each other again. their egos are too big for their own good. he needs a mediator to even begin to salvage whatever's left of his relationship with his nephew.
but of course the buzzards stop him eventually. he's forced to accept that della, wherever she is, is either dead or never coming back. and that's when he snaps: he invests so much time, effort, and money into this so-called family of his and this is what becomes of it? he's had ENOUGH (this is a lie, he loves his family deeply and misses them like anything. this is just the point where he starts denying it, suppressing it even "for his own good").
speaking of the buzzards i imagine fowl probably kills off duckworth within that timespan as well to further isolate scrooge, which only fucks with him more. only instead of just isolating him and turning him depressed it kind of backfires. i mean. it definitely does both of those things but he's also incredibly Angry. he's sick and tired of losing people
and what does he do with this feeling of rage? he decides to embrace a life of villainy. he doesn't have to set an example for anyone anymore, and public opinion matters little to him anyways. it's time to put his own spin on things. and as always, he's going to do it all on his own. he's scrooge mcduck, after all, he can do whatever he wants if he works hard enough at it. so he sets to hatching his very first evil plan...and soon discovers he is. absolutely No Fucking Good at hatching evil plans! he's never done this before. he doesn't know head or tail of where to begin. it's almost embarrassing for him, which is silly, after all he isn't even sharing these ideas with anyone...
...until he is! he eventually cracks and approaches his rival, flintheart glomgold. he knows nobody else who's been villain-ing for as long as he has, nobody else who pours so much care into their evil schemes as him (magica does NOT COUNT!!!!!!!1). he reckons he could pick up a thing or two from ol' flinty before getting back to his whole... working alone thing. and of course, glomgold agrees, because who would he be to pass up an opportunity to FINALLY be better at something than scrooge is?
their relationship is rocky at best. they argue a lot! unsurprisingly! glomgold takes every opportunity to rub it in that he's in a position of power here, and scrooge is just... so eager to be done with this all and go back to scheming on his own. but soon he finds out just how much there is to learn. you have to establish a whole new public personality when you reinvent yourself as a villain, it turns out. your own special scheming style! your own obnoxious catchphrase! there's so much he doesn't know. he can't find it in him to leave just yet, because he'll always be haunted by that extra information he never bothered to learn.
that and he doesn't want to admit that they both do grow on each other after awhile. it's a weird sort of rivals to found family situation (not "found family" as in "traditional family structure", not at all, more like a "they're the closest thing they have to family at this point" lollll) if that makes sense??? which, of course, is ironic considering how scrooge swore off the idea of family earlier on... but surely it doesn't count if it's glomgold, he's only here to learn from him, after all. the fact that they proceeded to spiral into dysfunctional codependency doesn't mean anything. Surely. SURELY.
anyway yeah this au seems very serious and angsty and. on one hand YES. IT KIND OF IS. scrooge is going through the HORRORS because let's face it, every au i make has to make the sad tortured old men Even More sad and tortured. but it's also just a nice little excuse for me to put scrooge and glomgold into Situations together and be a little lame and edgy about it. take for example this scenario which i've been thinking about for at least a week but never got to draw because i've been busy with exams
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they're very silly actually <3 anyway HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS RANT!!! thank you again for sending me an ask it means the world to me. i have been waiting for an excuse to scream about this au for so long i'm glad people are interested EHEHH

What I Think Certain DuckTales (2017) Characters Might Like To Do On Halloween
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok. Here I’ll be going over my thoughts on what certain DuckTales (2017) characters might think of Halloween. Also, Spoiler Alert for the DuckTales (2017) TV series. With that out of the way, let’s dive right in.
Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘The Golden Lagoon Of White Agony Plains!’, Goldie O’Gilt has a passion for stealing and conning. So, when it comes to Halloween, I think that Goldie would be in it for the tricks rather than the treats. Goldie might even see Halloween as a good time to exercise and further practice her skills as a thief. Goldie might even call Halloween “a night of cons”. Also, as shown in the episode ‘Happy Birthday Doofus Drake!’, Goldie took Louie Duck under her wing to teach him how to be a better con artist and also formed a bond with him. So, I also think that Goldie might also try to take Louie trick-or-treating and teach him how to con people to take their candy in order to further train him to be a con artist. One of the things that I think Goldie and Louie might do is crash a Halloween party where there’s a game that will decide which guest gets the most candy. They might use their skills as con artists to rig the game in their favor. As for what Goldie might dress up as for Halloween, I think that Goldie might dress up as a thief or as a secret agent. The reason why I think Goldie might dress up as a thief is because, as I said earlier, Goldie has a passion for stealing. And the reason why I think that Goldie might dress up as a secret agent is because secret agents use subterfuge as a weapon and, as shown in the episode ‘The Golden Lagoon Of White Agony Plains!’, using subterfuge is what Goldie is all about.
Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘The Beagle Birthday Breakout!’, Lena Sabrewing can be quite clever and also mischievous to the point that she crashed Ma Beagle’s birthday party and was able to help outmaneuver the Beagle Boys. So, I think that what Lena might have in mind for a fun Halloween night would be to pull some spooky pranks to scare the likes of Flintheart Glomgold and Mark Beaks. After all, as also shown in the episode ‘The Beagle Birthday Breakout!’, Lena seemed to be enjoying herself quite a bit after she pulled tricks on villains like Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys by throwing Ma Beagle’s birthday cake at her and after she and Webby outsmarted the Beagle Boys for a bit. And since, as shown in the episode ‘GlomTales!’, both Flintheart Glomgold and Mark Beaks are also villains, that makes me think that Lena would really enjoy pulling pranks on the likes of Flintheart Glomgold and Mark Beaks. Here are the kinds of pranks that I think Lena might pull on Flintheart Glomgold and Mark Beaks. Since, as also shown in the episode ‘GlomTales!’, Flintheart Glomgold really wants to take down Scrooge McDuck, Lena might try something on Glomgold like using her magic to create ghost-like illusions of Scrooge McDuck mocking him. And since, as shown in the episode ‘The Infernal Internship Of Mark Beaks!’, Mark Beaks really loves his phone, Lena might try something on Mark Beaks like using her magic to create an illusion that will trick him into thinking that his phone is haunted by a ghost. As for what Lena might dress up as for Halloween, I think that Lena might dress up as a good witch. After all, as shown in the episode ‘Nightmare On Killmotor Hill!’, Lena left her past with her evil aunt Magica De Spell behind her and, as shown in the episode ‘The Phantom And The Sorceress!’, Lena managed to gain control over her magic. And @boingodigitalart made a post where Lena was dressed up in a white and blue witch outfit for Halloween. I think that’s pretty appropriate considering that, in the episode ‘The Phantom And The Sorceress!’, Lena adopted a white and blue appearance after she mastered her magic. Also, as shown in the episode ‘Friendship Hates Magic!’, Lena has become really close friends with Webby Vanderquack and Violet Sabrewing. So, I think that Lena might take turns with Webby and Violet on who decides what they will do for Halloween. For Lena’s turn, they might do the stuff that I explained earlier. For Webby’s turn, they might go to a Halloween party since, as shown in the episode ‘The Beagle Birthday Breakout!’, Webby seemed thrilled at the idea of going to her first costume party. I’ll be explaining what they might do for Violet’s turn on my next point. Speaking of which…
Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘Friendship Hates Magic!’, Violet Sabrewing is very fascinated with magic and the supernatural. So, I think that the way she would choose to spend a Halloween night would be to go out ghost hunting with Lena and Webby. As also shown in the episode ‘Friendship Hates Magic!’, Violet has done quite a bit of research on spirits. That makes me think that Violet would be extra prepared when it comes to locating ghosts. As for what Violet might dress up as for Halloween, I think that she might dress up as something like a vampire hunter or a ghost hunter. One of the reasons why I think that Violet might dress up as a vampire hunter or a ghost hunter is because, like I said earlier, Violet has quite a fascination for magic and the supernatural. And since she would be out to hunt the supernatural, I think that Violet might think it would be appropriate.
Tumblr media
As shown and stated in the episode ‘Louie’s Eleven!’, Daisy Duck directed a party that she had been planning for months. So, I think that the way Daisy would spend a Halloween night would be to throw a Halloween party. And since, as also shown in the episode ‘Louie’s Eleven!’, Daisy is into fashion and designed her own dress, she might arrange a costume contest that would take place during the Halloween party. As for what Daisy might dress up as for Halloween, I think that she might dress up as a princess. The reason why I think that Daisy might dress up as a princess for Halloween is because I think that a dress is probably one thing that would leave a lot of room for the costume to be as fashionable as possible. And like I pointed out earlier, Daisy is into fashion and designed her own dress. So, since Daisy designed her own dress, I think that she might design the princess Halloween costume herself. Also, as implied in the episode ‘The Last Adventure! Part 3: Tale’s End…’, Daisy and Donald decided to take May and June, who were recently cloned from Webby Vanderquack, in after FOWL was defeated. And I think, given the fact that May and June were only recently brought into the world and, as I pointed out earlier, Daisy planned a party for months, Daisy might take a more cautious approach when it comes to exposing May and June to their first Halloween. So, Daisy might first have May and June attend the aforementioned Halloween costume party before then transitioning to she and Donald taking them trick-or-treating for the first time.
Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘Moonvasion! Part 1’, Drake Mallard AKA Darkwing Duck likes to show off and can be quite a bit dramatic when it comes to theatrics. So, I think that Drake would have a blast during Halloween, a holiday that pretty much encourages people to dress up as someone or something else and also embrace your sense of drama and theatrics. And since, as also shown in the episode ‘Moonvasion! Part 1’, Drake also tried to be scary to the invaders from the Moon albeit to no avail, he might try to get some scares out of some bullies who are picking on trick-or-treaters. But, just like with the invaders from the Moon, it would probably be to no avail. Drake might also even rework his usual catchphrase a little bit into something around the lines of: “I am the terror that flaps in this Halloween night. I am the phantom that sends shivers into the most evil of evildoers. I am…Darkwing Duck.” As for what Drake might dress up as for Halloween, I think that he might go as himself, Darkwing Duck. After all, as shown in the episode ‘The Duck Knight Returns!’, Drake is a big fan of the in-universe TV show version of Darkwing Duck. And, after an Anonymous Tumblr user asked @askdarkwingduck if Drake Mallard would dress up as Darkwing Duck for Halloween, askdarkwingduck, in their role as Drake Mallard, responded with a yes while also demonstrating that Drake likes to show off which means that it makes sense that he would want to dress up as his costumed persona for Halloween. And as I pointed out earlier, Drake also demonstrated this in the episode ‘Moonvasion! Part 1’ where Drake tried to show off to the invaders from the Moon. Another thing Drake would do for Halloween would be to take Gosalyn out trick-or-treating. After all, as shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 2: A Case Of Mistaken Reality!’, Drake had grown to greatly care about Gosalyn to the point that he apparently didn’t sleep for days while trying to find a way for Gosalyn to be reunited with her grandfather. I think that aspect of Drake Mallard would also mean that he would want Gosalyn to enjoy a good Halloween night, especially after everything that Gosalyn has been through including, as shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous!’, losing her grandfather in an inter-dimensional portal and having to destroy said portal that was the only way to get him back in order to stop the universe from getting destroyed. Speaking of Gosalyn…
Tumblr media
I think that it will be difficult for Gosalyn to enjoy a good Halloween considering everything that happened to her. As shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 1: The St. Canardian Guardian!’, Gosalyn’s grandfather mysteriously disappeared and Taurus Bulba used her grandfather’s invention, the Ramrod, to unleash a group of supervillains on St. Canard. Also, as shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 2: A Case Of Mistaken Reality!’, Gosalyn had to persevere through her trauma in order to bring herself to destroy the portal that was her only hope of finding her grandfather. So, Gosalyn might still be traumatized. Also, while Gosalyn might be able to at least more or less persevere through her trauma, I also think that Gosalyn’s trauma is not the only thing she has to worry about. also shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 2: A Case Of Mistaken Reality!’, Taurus Bulba unleashing those supervillains on St. Canard caused a sheer amount of destruction to St. Canard as a whole. So, it probably made the St. Canard news. And given that Gosalyn is one of, if not the biggest victim of everything that happened during the events of ‘Let’s Get Dangerous!’, I think that Gosalyn might have a difficult time enjoying Halloween without a bunch of people staring at her everywhere she goes and constantly whispering about what she might be going through. But given that, as also shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 1: The St. Canardian Guardian!’, Gosalyn seemed pretty confident despite her trauma and her grandfather’s disappearance and, as also shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 2: A Case Of Mistaken Reality!’, Gosalyn formed a strong bond with Drake Mallard and also happily accepted Drake’s offer to be his crime fighting partner despite everything else that’s happened to her, I think that Gosalyn would try her hardest to enjoy Halloween and would also let Drake take her out trick-or-treating. As for what Gosalyn might dress up as for Halloween, I think that Gosalyn might improvise and dress up as a new costumed superhero which she might dub ‘Quiverwing Quack’ which is also the costumed persona of the version of Gosalyn from the Darkwing Duck (1991) TV series. After all, as I already pointed out, Gosalyn happily accepted Drake’s offer to be her crime fighting partner. So, I think that Gosalyn would like to dress up as a costumed vigilante for Halloween.
Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘The Ballad Of Duke Baloney!’, Zan Owlson really cares about peoples’ lives to the point that she tried to get Glomgold Industries to put people above profit while she worked there and she tends to take her job very seriously. And as shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 1: The St. Canardian Guardian!’, Zan Owlson became the mayor of St. Canard. So, one thing I think that Zan Owlson might do for Halloween is to hold a Halloween-themed fundraiser in order to provide support to the charities in St. Canard. As for what Zan Owlson might dress up as for Halloween, I’m honestly not sure if she would wear a costume at all since, as shown in the episode ‘Raiders Of The Doomsday Vault!’, Zan Owlson has an incredibly no-nonsense attitude. But if Zan Owlson would wear a costume for Halloween, I think that she would dress up as a judge. After all, as I pointed out earlier, Zan Owlson wanted to put people above profit and she has an incredibly no-nonsense attitude. So, I think that Zan Owlson would dress up as a judge for Halloween since a judge would do both. After all, a professional judge helps people by trying to put the guilty behind bars and pardoning the innocent during trials while also keeping a no-nonsense attitude during said trials.
Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘The Duck Knight Returns!’, Jim Starling AKA Negaduck had an oversized ego and hated that Drake Mallard replaced him in the role of Darkwing Duck. So, Jim might attack anyone who dresses up as Darkwing Duck for Halloween especially if it’s to celebrate the Drake Mallard version rather than his own version. And as also shown in the episode ‘The Duck Knight Returns!’, Jim seemed to like how the iteration of Darkwing Duck in a proposed Darkwing Duck movie seemed scary and also said, at the end of the episode that: “They want grim and gritty, huh? I’m happy to play the part.” I think that means that Jim would probably go out and scare people for Halloween. And given that, as also shown in the episode ‘The Duck Knight Returns!’, Jim had a pretty crazed look in his eyes and seemed pretty maniacal at the end of the episode, I think that Jim might actually succeed in getting scares out of people during Halloween. Another reason why I think this is because askdarkwingduck, in their role as Drake Mallard, answered an Anonymous Tumblr user’s question about what was the hardest thing Drake Mallard had to face with a reply about a “Duck in yellow” who is most likely Jim Starling AKA Negaduck and that he was extremely terrifying. And I figured that fits Jim Starling’s Negaduck persona rather well. And since, as I said in one of my previous points, Drake Mallard’s attempts at scaring others were admittedly unsuccessful, and as also that Jim is jealous of Drake as I also pointed out earlier, I think that Jim would be very happy and satisfied that he’s better than Drake Mallard at something Drake wasn’t able to do. And given what I just said about Jim growing to like getting scares out of people, I also think that Jim would like how Launchpad, as shown in the episode ‘The Trickening!’, Launchpad didn’t know what Halloween was and thus scared trick-or-treaters off with a saw and also scared some real monsters. After all, as shown in the episode ‘The Duck Knight Returns!’, Jim considered Launchpad to be his fan and he also saved Launchpad from dying in an explosion. So, I think that Jim might try to bond with Launchpad over the fact that they both are quite skilled at scaring others. And since Launchpad also used a saw I think that Jim assuming that Jim Starling would use a chainsaw often just like the Darkwing Duck (1991) TV series version of Negaduck did. However, I think that Jim would later become disappointed after finding out that Launchpad, as also shown in the episode ‘The Trickening!’, later stopped scaring trick-or-treaters after he found out what Halloween is and grew to love it.
Well, that’s all for this post.
See you all next time.
