Adramelech theory time
Tumblr media
Does anyone want to know a theory I have? no? Well, that's too bad you're getting it anyway.
Based on demonology Adramelech tried to gain worship as a sun god, alongside his sibling Anamelech who was considered a moon diety.
Does that sound familiar? Does that sound perhaps like Spade's royal family magic? Am I implying that all royals are shit regardless of the country and have a hobby of boosting their own power by stealing it from others? I sure am.
So here's the situation. Grinberyalls pulled the exact same shit as Silvamillions, except with devil magic. It's implied that the spade people know more about devils than they initially let on, Ciel included, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did some fuck ass ritual to steal Adramelech and his brother's attributes specifically.
But wait, you may say. Haven't we seen in canon that Adramelech can resist Lucifero's gravity and still has supreme devil levels of magic? He sure does and here's the catch. What he initially lost is an ATTRIBUTE, not mana itself. Kinda like Ladros who was born with no attribute at all.
Also the timing of WHEN the Grinberyalls became the ruling family with their magic is a little unclear. I'm even willing to go out on a limb and imply that it was around the time of when the first Qlipoth happened. Either they caught Adramelech and his brother during the 2nd gate opening and obtained his magic then OR the first Qlipoth was the responce to having their supreme devil's magic stolen by humans sometime before.
(Also not fully related to this theory, but I imagined that the first Qlipoth failed because it was sabotaged from the inside by Astaroth, who did not wish for human's extermination).
How does any of that relate to Adramelech working with Lucius? Well what if Lucius promised him to get rid of all of Grinberyalls in his grand plan, knowing that Adramelech and Anamelech would not get their full attributes back until the last Grinberyall is dead and thus the attributes can no longer be passed on to any further relatives?
My other idea was that Astaroth is tied into it more closely than initially shown. Maybe even having initally contracted Lucius, allowing him to use the power of prophecy as much as he pleases, on the condition that he can arrange the sun and moon magic to be returned to their original owners. If that is the case, then the spade coup may have been orchestrated by him before his disappearance, as killing all royal family members would release the attributes.
This brings me to my final point, the one that I think will result in Yuno stans hunting me down for sport, but here we go. Yuno is like the british empire, the culmination of stolen shit.
Wind magic? doesn't belong to him, it belongs to a soul of dead half-elf fetus that sits in his body and I'm pretty sure Bell was asleep for so long because she was supposed to be guardian spirit to that fetus when it grew up, but instead was in time out for 500 yeas until a twink shows up who just so happened to have the fetus soul living in him rent-free.
Star magic? Literally a result of stealing 2 devil attributes, followed by centuries of royal incest to ensure the celestial magic stays in the family. Sorry to burst your bubble, all royals are inbred, yes even your favourites. If Tabata wants to play loose canon with borrowing vague references from medieval Europe, so will I.
And you know what? From storytelling perspective it would be hysteric! The dude beloved by mana? The skinny legend that is stacking up magical buffs like a jenga tower? To reveal that all of his 'blessings' were not in fact blessings but came at the expense of somebody else? ALL OF THEM? This would be delicious. This would finally give us the relevant narrative parallel to Asta who has acknowledged long time ago that the power he wields is not his and did not even hesitate to try and give his grimoire away to the original owner.

feel like i have something to say about the o*md cancellation in contrast to a show about lgbtqi+ people that is actually good and they're both on hbo but only one got picked up for a third season despite having a relatively small fanbase because at the end of the day a solid script and great performances are what makes a show and will see it through. but i can't be bothered to argue with 14 year olds and other such dregs of humanity

If you want text, kingbdogz on Twitter, the dev who is pretty much in charge and responsible for sculk and the deep dark and the warden, has talked about the sculk various times
But at least from one video about the sculk, the deep dark biome literally comes from the void (so it generates as low as possible in the world) and catalysts are the stomachs of the sculk
(Link to the video I believe is being referenced)
First of all, holy SHIT you should not have told me about this because there's SO MUCH- sculk's visuals being inspired by opals?! are you KIDDING me sculk RULES
Second of all- I Was Right About Everything The Whole Time And None Of You TOLD ME
To be pedantic (because I think it holds huge importance to the lore of it), the deep dark biome itself was described as having an anchor point below bedrock- which doesn't necessarily mean it's *from* the void, just that its intended to be as close to it as possible. Whether or not it comes FROM the void massively affects its intended purpose
GOD it's awesome hearing sculk being confirmed as a living thing though, And further confirmation of the souls-exp correlation. However, the specifics of how its described makes me question whether it was 'created' by the civilization it ultimately destroyed. Language barriers are a factor here, but the fact that its described as 'having found itself' underground makes me think its an organism taken from elsewhere. This WOULD still require external interference, and likely major editing, as we don't see any mirrors of it elsewhere, so it's definitely still at least partially artificial.
The Warden being described as a defense system For the sculk is also interesting- continuing to presume the sculk was created/edited for defense against the End/Void, this would imply the sculk Itself is the defense, instead of merely being the infrastructure required to support and transport the Warden as I'd previously assumed. If we assume it was edited rather than created, though, its very possible that my original thoughts were correct, with the Warden being the intended defense, and the sculk simply being brought along as the necessary precondition for using him.
I do also want to quickly note that electricity is a major factor in real-life living things, so the sculk interfacing with redstone isn't Too wild, but the fact that it gives out a strong enough signal to register on devices not specifically designed for that is notable. No other living thing in minecraft can trigger redstone without an additional connecting layer (like an observer) as far as i know! And it's obviously something that was being studied, if not actively used. The main question there is if it naturally had that trait, or it was amplified or introduced artificially
SCULK!!!!!!

can't stop thinking about how "Precinct 41 Major Crimes Unit" from DE soundtrack is just a musical masterpiece.
Did you notice how it's the same exact motive as "Krenel, Downwell, Somatosensor" but more intense, more suspenseful? At the tribunal, the music makes you feel the tension, sharpens your senses. The situation Harry finds himself in is dangerous, unpleasant, he needs to make choices that can cost him, or other people he cares about, a life, even. It makes you feel more vigilant, more aware of your current choices, their meaning and potential consequences. It sygnalises that something big is going to happen.
At the trial, we have the same musical motive playing in the background, but it's even more meaningful here. The rhythm is marked more clearly, the tension is even more perceptible. Even though there is no direct threat of life, meeting his posse Harry is feeling similar as he did during the tribunal. He knows where this is going. You don't need to get far into the dialogue, to know that scene will be about your choices throughout the game. You don't need to know who are the people you're talking to, to know that this is your fate that is at stake. The music says it all.

Since mermen don't wear clothes, Spock is baffled about the garments Kirk and Mccoy are wearing.
Oh definitely. He would eventually understand the reason they need them but he would still find most clothes insufficient and illogical since they're designed more for 'style' than practicality. He would approve of diving suits tho.

if you don’t count the calm belts, there are seven seas in one piece. four blues, paradise, new world, and the mythical all blue. either the calm belts don’t count or oda didn’t think of them until later because i really think this is too good to be unintentional. he uses a lot of pirate/sailor lore, and i honestly can’t imagine he wouldn’t use the seven seas thing too. it’s just such a lovely, romantic thing to have the seventh sea be the all blue.
(and no, the sky sea does not count. because i said so.)

I won’t lie, I’ve bitched about the issue before but I’m seeing so much TotK hate at the moment and it’s becoming so mentally exhausting to listen to because it’s getting to a point where it’s spilling over into talks about BotW and I need to vent about it. I get that some people are underwhelmed. I get that there’s been so much time between trailers. I get that people are anxious about certain aspects. But I’m just so tired of hearing it because I’m genuinely so happy and excited about TotK because it’s the very first Zelda game I get to buy upon release and play with the rest of the world for once. And the most frustrating part is that every time I talk about it, it feels like people are just pushing me to stop talking about how drained I am hearing it. It’s gotten to the point that I’m thinking about just not interacting with anything TotK related beyond like two streamers and my own playthrough and theories because I’ve become that stressed and upset at the idea of the reaction to the game. It’s the sole reason I’ve stopped writing my TotK AU. It’s the reason I haven’t drawn anything for it in months. I’m just so frustrated that people are setting their expectations so high and expecting a perfect game or that they’re upset that it’s taking so long.  It’s genuinely making me not want to interact in general Zelda and BotW/TotK spaces anymore coz I feel like I just can’t escape it.

I made a crackpot theory that Astral Chain and Pikmin are a shared universe and for every like 30 pieces of disproving evidence I find a shred of evidence that it could hold up and it makes me weirdly giddy even though it's the dumbest theory ever.

at the risk of sounding facetious but if you’re categorizing the targaryens as colonizers then i think you also need to categorize nymeria and the rhoynar as colonizers too or just realize that the dragon incest show and all its varied source material written by a white guy who thought these ideas up forty years ago is not in fact that deep
