Old shitty Hive Five drabble i made a long time ago. kingdom Au

The kingdom that Jinx lived in was small, pitiful.

Its people were nothing but villagers and peasants, But they were happy this way, content with their peaceful lives.

The queen, a kind woman who worked the villagers but paid them fairly well, ruled over this kingdom.

For many years all they had known was peace, being so small that they had been ignored by the bigger kingdoms. While this had prevented them from any allies, it had also prevented them from any wars as well.

Until the queen had fallen ill.

She was old, and frail. So she took it upon herself to retire, leaving the kingdom to a man named Sebastian Blood.

This, the villagers did not like.

Blood was cruel, working his villagers to the bone, picking fights with any kingdom who was too small to fight back. He was hungry for power, he wanted more, he wanted to conquer.

So King Blood began building his army.

JInx and her family had lived on the poorer side of the small kingdom, doing small jobs to get any kind of coin they could. While life in the kingdom was overall calm, death still lingered.

This had included her parents, and the parents of many others.

This led to her family consisting of rag tag orphans who decided living together was better than surviving alone.

They work jobs, they steal food, they survive together.

They did anyway.

The draft had started.

And it had hit their side of the kingdom first.

The side that had less to offer, less to lose.

So here Jinx was now, packing her small bags with the few belongings she had collected from her years, readying herself to be taken away from her home.

She had just turned 17 that year, along with her brother Kyd, who had already finished packing and was now saying goodbye to the rest of her family.

There weren't many people to say goodbye to, since Mammoth, Billy and Angel were drafted as well.

The only people who were left behind were Gizmo; for his young age, See-More; for his inability to see and XL Terrestrial, who had cut off his hand in a panic when the draft was announced.

He insisted he was fine due to his regeneration ability, and that he needed to stay with the other two, seeing as they needed to be taken care of.

There was no more room for bargaining or negotiation. Jinx and a majority of her family had been drafted, and there was no more time to take drastic measures to ensure they were left behind.

She said her goodbyes to her three weeping brothers, and walked out the door with her four weeping siblings. They all knew this was the last time they saw each other alive.

And so on the dirt road, they trekked. To a place of no return.
