I was wondering, how are Michie and Seina handling Seidou's new... quirks, lets say. Do they use less scented items in the house? How do they feel about his kagune? Does he scent them? Do they know he's dating Amon and Akira and if so, how do they feel about it? Learning that your family member is suddenly a ghoul must come with lots of questions and concerns

After getting Seidou back in his new form, Michie and Seina have a steep learning curve. They don’t want to lose him, not after already thinking he was dead, but getting good information on how ghouls work is hard, so they’re mostly relying on Seidou to tell them

Unfortunately, Seidou is a prideful little dipshit who will not be up front about anything he has decided is weak, embarrassing, or weird, so it took awhile for them to get anything useful out of him. For awhile he was just snappy and jumpy and stressed a lot until they got him to admit that the air freshener is overwhelming and it’s stressing him out. When his mom responded without belittling it and just removed it from the wall, he accepted that he’ll need to be honest about his weird shit. He’s been trying to bring things up in a very casual way to not freak them out, but it’s hard to nonchalantly slip in “haha yeah also don’t come in my room if I’m asleep because sometimes my kagune come out on their own and they’ll try to tangle your legs”

Michie is definitely very afraid of him being found out, she’s lost him once and she won’t do it again, so she’s incredibly thorough about keeping curtains closed and avoiding the CCG. She knows about Akira and Amon (I mean once your mom is cool with you being a cannibalistic monster you may as well tell her about your bisexual situationship) but generally does not want them at her house. She’s sure they’re nice people, and they’ve been good to seidou, but she can’t kick the fear that if they come over, other doves will notice and figure it out

Seina is taking it in a weirder way. Her brother apparently came back from the dead as a ghoul and once getting past that shock and the horror of what made him that way, she started asking a lot of questions. It’s kind of invasive and uncomfortable but it balances out Michie’s careful doting and tiptoeing around difficult questions. For every intentionally avoided comment from his mother about his red eye, there’s an equal and opposite interaction from his sister where she asks him if he can regenerate infinite teeth

They have a big Dont Ask Don’t Tell policy about his diet. They all know what he eats, but they don’t talk about it. Anything else though? That’s fair game, especially when it’s obvious. And once the wounds weren’t so fresh and they could joke about it, the jokes came in droves. Seina teases him for purring when he plays with the dog, if he leaves his kagune out Michie will pile any of his used cups on them or dump his clean laundry on them to make him go take care of that. The family teasing has mutated to incorporate his weird ghoul shit

Seidou is not innocent. He is an older brother and come hell or high water it is his job to be annoying. Seina has had to get very good at avoiding being tripped because he loves tripping her with his kagune. He is swiping at her legs constantly. He is picking her up with them and putting her in Air Jail. He is stealing her phone out of her hand and putting it on top of the fridge with them. He is a menace but they’re closer now than they were when he was in the CCG

My headcanons about Takizawa Seina:

- Seidou is her favorite person in the world, but she brings out the best and the worst in her brother. Her cool and annoying brother suddenly left home and became an investigator and her mother was always looking up to him, she started to miss it but is too grumpy to admit it so she started to get distracted constantly and pretend she didn't care.

- She is very smart and focused, I guess Seinan University is a prestigious college since Shuu studied there.

- However, she felt the constant need to be part of popular and elite groups and ended up dedicating herself less to her studies and spending a lot of money on clothes and changes in her appearance.

- Seidou sent money for her periodically without his parents' knowledge (he also sent money to they too, but monthly) he encouraged Seina to have fun but was very worried about her, he also didn't want her to get a part time job, he wanted her to dedicate herself 100 percent to her studies and enjoy the college life he didn't have.

- Seidou also knew the entire college schedule, always sending sweets and an anti-stress kit to her before exam days, he knew she wouldn't want him to do that directly so Seidou sent it through delivery companies, usually with sweet and annoying notes.

- Seina continued to receive the kits for months after he died.

- After Seidou's death, she was deeply shaken, she got into a fight with her friends when she heard them mock the ccg operation she tried to comfort her parents but didn't know how and struggled to keep studying so she wouldn't become a burden.

- Seina secretly got a job, she didn't need it, but it helped her to be more sober, little by little she was rebuilding herself.

- Then her parents were murdered and Seina lost what little she had, she never got the bodies, she never got to say goodbye, she just didn't get caught because he had allowed himself to leave the house for a while and go to a party and when he arrived there was only blood everywhere

- Seina had to stay in the hospital for a year to get back to herself, an aunt from Kyoto came to visit her monthly, they weren't very close, but little by little her aunt managed to get inside Seina's stubborn little head and convinced her to move in with her.

- Again, Seina tried to rebuild things, she dropped out of college, but she went back to work, Kyoto gave her some peace, her life was empty, but Seina tried hard to live a normal and healthy life.

- After the situation in Tokyo, the dragon, the decriminalization, Seina became anxious again, she saw Seidou's face on the wanted list, so she started looking for him.

- Seidou didn't want to be found, he ran away from everyone and no one was interested in looking for him, however, one day while he was venturing around Tokyo, he saw Seina, with signs, handing out flyers with his pictures.

- He decided that it was best that he not find her, feeling all the guilt for his parents, he went with Kurona to Europe, believing that it was best to leave the past buried.

- After a few months, Seina found him in some European country, before he could run away or try to scare her she called him an idiot, the same way she called him when he pissed her off or read her diary.

- An emotional reunion, they find a little peace in each other, even if there is still a lot of anguish.

I won't continue because my HCS are always long and boring, but here are some extras:

- Houji visited the Takizawa household for some time, her mother was kind to him, but Seina resented it at first, Houji was the person that Seidou admired so much, eventually she forgave Houji

- At Seidou's graduation from the CCG, Seina almost drove him crazy when she addressed Akira as a sister-in-law and called her "nee-san"

- She saw Akira again at the cemetery, Seina liked to tease Seidou about her, so when she sees her brother's rival again, Seina feels bad. "He was annoying, but he got mad if you were absent or not doing well, he was just really bad with girls." Akira tried to be kind, but Seina's words brought more pain for her.

- After the reunion, Kurona becomes Seina's target, she always wanted a sister-in-law.

I once had this au idea where Seina became an investigator because she wanted to avenge Seidou and their parents or w/e and then she's just utterly crushed to find Seidou became a ghoul

I’m fulfilling my headcanon for Seidou’s sister and drew her in a banshee/gypsy inspired outfit as a one-eyed ghoul. If a 3rd installment happens…I’m hoping to finally get some info on his sister’s whereabouts or what happened to her ;~; just gimme the Takizawa siblings plz Ishida

What are the chances of Seidou and Akira having a relationship? I don't think it's likely since Akiramon has been built up since Part 1 but eh. Does Seidou even desire romantic love? He seems more like the type of person who wants to establish a family first, since well he lost for the most part. It'd be nice if his sister accepted him as a ghoul and Hakitori and Shikorae joined his family, Shikorae is kind of unlikely but you never know.

I think narratively Seiaki or Akiramon could be endgame. I wrote two posts on the subject, which you can find here (to this post @midnight-in-town added some replies so you can read those too!) and here. I do think Seidou desires romantic love and a family--he’s shown clearly as having romantic feelings for Akira, but his toxically masculine competitiveness got in the way and so that ended in tragedy at the end of the first TG. And Akira does say she loves him, and that has yet to be resolved. 

Takizawa’s breaking point, though, at which he gave up hope, was not either of them being threatened, but when Kanou fed him his parents. Given that Seina hasn’t been seen or heard from in the manga, I presume she’s still alive and will show up again and accept him at the end of his arc. Notably, neither Amon nor Akira still have family, but Takizawa still does. 

This is why I crack OTP Takirona: instead of calling him a murderous ghoul Kurona calls him a good man as he’s always wanted to be seen and they’ve both been tortured and lost family to Kanou. Ahem. I don’t really have canonical expectations, but anyways. It’s possible Seidou could end up with Akira, there could be a hint of him ending up with Kurona, but either way I think Seidou will find the belonging and love and hope he seeks in the sister he once ridiculed. He already seems to be very brotherly with Hakatori and I wonder if she reminds him of Seina, as there are similarities in how they interact.

Am I thinking about a character that appeared for like, two panels and is never mentioned afterwards again? Perhaps. Anyways, Seina Takizawa headcanons-

-She studied psychology in college and became a therapist

-She sits with Rocky while the pup waits for her parents to come home (rip Michie and unnamed father)

-She works with the TSC and United Front providing her services to the countless traumatized ghouls out there

-I assume she had bleached her hair when we saw her in the manga and she has since grown it out back to a light brown

-She likes to wear her hair in a ponytail with a clip her mom used in her bun

-Her dad had a bunch of golf stuff and she plays tabletop golf when she's bored

-She watches the cop shows Seidou used to watch and while she didn't like them at first, they grew on her

-She visits her family's graves every Tuesday and leaves letters she wrote for them

-She saw a cloaked figure at their graves once, though it fled as soon as she saw it. She can't help but think about who it was...

-She found out the truth about her brother when a former investigator noted her last name and told her about him

-She went home and stared at the ceiling for the rest of the day, thinking about what he might be doing and what he had been doing when she thought he was dead

-It wasn't until she visited the graves again she broke down crying

-She wants to see him again but doesn't know what she'd say

-Seidou reads the letters she leaves him and after she left one telling him she knows, he left her one back (what does it say? no one knows (aka, I'm not sure what he'd write yet))

-And her favourite colour is purple

Every time a man is sexist with her, Akira spends three days taking a vow of silence, she is efficient at pretending that the person in question doesn't exist

Here are some of the possible reactions I thought of:

Kureo Mado: He didn't do it on purpose, he loves and believes in his daughter's potential, but he ends up being rude from time to time and so Akira shuts up

He tries to convince her with food, pampering, but after a while he waits patiently and then apologizes when she speaks again.

Marude Itsuki: He never learns his lesson, but Akira is also persistent, he often continues to insult her which results in more days of pure silence. The record was once a whole month pretending he doesn't exist, eventually he tries to bribe her which is also ineffective

Amon Koutarou: He definitely didn't do it on purpose, it's desperate, but he is patient with her, despite it being torturous, he forgets and tries to talk to her and her silence corrodes his soul. He definitely prefers it when she's arguing over anything, He tries to negotiate the punishment, trading the punishment for ten thousand push-ups or a plate of curry, but she is adamant.

Haise Sasaki: The reaction is similar to Amon's, he keeps talking to her normally and does twice as much to please her, and definitely hugs her when the vow is over.

Takizawa Seidou: He freaks out. At first he pretends not to care, he even celebrates, but in just one hour without Akira correcting or teasing him, he goes into a state of withdrawal. Of them all, he is the person she has the most trouble ignoring.

He nearly had a breakdown when Seina did the same thing to him.

Juuzou Suzuya: He doesn't understand at first, so Akira doesn't make the vow, she just explains to him what he did wrong, and even though he says he doesn't care, he doesn't repeat it.

Houji Kousuke: He would never be sexist with Akira, she considers him an example of a man.

The Takizawa siblings. Seidou and Seina. I need a confirmation on Seina’s status. She isn’t dead till Ishida actually hints at it (since he only ever mentioned his parents). Also headcanoning that she’s tried wing-manning for her bro, but his awkward cute ass doesn’t know how to speak to girls, ending with her always telling him, “You’re a lost cause big brother. All good looks, but can’t get the ladies.”

I really love your analysis pieces,they really make TG far more enjoyable then they already are! So I don't know if this was mentioned before but I've been wondering how you think Seina Takizawa will reappear in the story? Since she was never confirmed dead and she goes to the same University as Shu and Hori did it's obvious Ishida will use her in some way for Takizawa. I was wondering if we might see her with Kimi and Kanou or with Ogura if she finds out what happened? So what do you think?

Awww thank you friend! I hope she reappears when Takizawa does… maybe around the same time we find out more about all of the other forgotten siblings (Saiko’s brother, Shirazu Haru). I think she’s probably alive given that Kanou never mentioned her. I wonder if she knows her brother is a ghoul, and how she might react/have reacted to that, especially if she finds out her brother, you know, ate their parents. My hope is she might have a role in his arc going forward.
