Kataang shippers getting mad that Zutara shippers wish their ship was canon as if they don't always brag about how Kataang is canon and have been harassing the NATLA writers because they think they won't make Kataang canon.

Science Says People (Specifically Kids) Are Good, Actually
okay i just rediscovered the link to one of my favourite studies ever and i wanted to share it with the class.
Koomen, R., Grueneisen, S., & Herrmann, E. (2020). Children Delay Gratification for Cooperative Ends. Psychological Science, 31(2), 139–148. https://doi.org/10.1177/0956797619894205
(it's behind a paywall, but if you can't access and you're interested i have the pdf)
This study modified the marshmallow test, where kids are asked to hold off on eating one marshmallow in order to get another one later. The study used children from Germany and Kenya, with localised treats that were familiar to the kids. 70 of the children were paired up interdependently - each pair would only get the second treat if they both held off eating the first. 69 (nice) were paired up dependently - they each thought that they were the only one of the two who had to avoid eating the treat, and 68 were doing the test as normal.
The interdependent kids were significantly better at the test than those doing the test normally - cooperation (the idea that they were doing this for AND with a friend) had a significant positive effect on their willpower ! The dependent kids were also better at the test than the solo ones - showing that children can delay gratification better when they're doing it for a friend - but not as much as the interdependent ones. Even though they knew that they were the only ones who had to hold out, the fact that they weren't doing it with a friend meant they didn't have that amazing boost of willpower. (there are small cultural differences here between the Kenyan and German children, but the overall interdependence effect holds.)
From the discussion: "Delaying gratification is often critical for cooperation to succeed. Here, 5- to 6-year-olds from two highly distinct cultures were more likely to delay gratification when their outcomes were interdependently linked than when they performed the same task alone, even though the interdependent context entailed additional risks. These findings support the notion that human cooperative relations, particularly social interdependence, critically shape cognitive performance from an early age."
i just find this study so heartening, because it's truly applicable throughout life. if you've ever done something for a friend that you couldn't do for yourself, that's this effect! our reliance on others (and their reliance on us) is hugely beneficial for ourselves and for society - how nice is that?
Similar studies:
this one again shows increased willpower in kids for the good of others !
this one shows how kids begin to give more to people that need it
this one found that kids as young as three show altruistic behaviour when it comes to the present, and by five they've developed altruism for future events !
this study found that by the age of 8, children will reject unfairness EVEN WHEN IT BENEFITS THEM !!
in summary i love people and i love children and we are all built kind it is our duty to make sure as many people as possible stay that way

Polishing the manuscript.
Polishing the manuscript,Photo courtesy of Pixabay.com Polishing the manuscript. By David Joel Miller, writer, blogger, and mental health professional. My journey from writing something to making it readable. It’s a long process with many steps to transform that finished manuscript into a book that’s published and available for purchase. Each one of these steps has a learning curve. I’m learning…

Each one of these steps is a skill that takes time and effort to master#but it didn&039;t solve the whole problem#but the net result was that I#but with all the writing I do#each of them has had its problems. I know that some writing coaches advocate dictating as a way to speed up your word count. I have found th#especially when I was coming home from work and "pounding the keys" late into the evening trying to finish a blog post or a chapte#even by family and friends. One resource I do use is Grammarly. At the end of each blog post or when writing my novels after each chapter#finished first draft to turn it into something readable#got to wear those annoying wrist braces used to treat carpal tunnel syndrome. I made the shift to dictating. I&039;ve been using Dragon Spe#grammar checkers#having someone else type up my dictated manuscript was not feasible. I learned to type mainly by looking at the keys as I went. As we adapte#I correct all the errors. But if my protagonist speaks to another character#I correct the ones I want to correct and leave the ones I choose not to change. When writing dialogue#I learned enough of the features to make it work#I let them have their own voice and leave some of the slang expressions they might be using unchanged. You&039;d think I&039;d be done now#I open up Grammarly and quickly correct the most glaring errors. There are ways to set the features so that it detects some errors and not o#I try to give each character a different voice. Try is probably the keyword here. That means if the college professor is speaking#I was spending more and more time "pounding the keys." I was able to work up quite a bit of speed writing that way

Sorry, it was unfair of me to send that to you without proper context since you might not be aware of these issues. Irredeemable media refers to any thing with a creator or content  that is harmful and/or bigoted. Of course every piece of media has problems, but irredeemable media is when those problems cannot be ignored and are an indicator of someone's beliefs.
For example, Harry Potter is irredeemable media because every one knows that JK Rowling is a transphobe, but some other piece of media like Twilight would not be considered irredeemable because even though Stephanie Meyer has done some bad things, they are not as widely talked about, so someone who posts about Twilight on here isn't completely likely to be a bigot, but a Harry Potter blogger would. Also, I know the "to be cringe is to be free" people like your blog, but a lot of the time, what is considered cringey on here is actually based on what is irredeemable. No progressive person or reputable blogger genuinely makes fun of My Little Pony fans any more, however plenty make fun of Hazbin Hotel fans and the such because that content is irredeemable and shows someone's beliefs. So usually, a piece of media being considered embarassing to like on here usually indicates that it is irredeemable.
As for why the other pieces of media are irredeemable, Hazbin Hotel is made by a woman who has many well-documented accusations of bigotry against her and has drawn zoophilia art, not to mention how her work leans into stereotypes about gay people (having a gay man character be a sex addict, a lesbian be named after the female body part Vagina, etc.) or at least that's what I've heard. Attack on Titan is created by a known fascist and many illusions are made to nazi imagery and nationalism in the anime. Captive Prince has a racist premise that sexualizes slavery and non-con.
People can tell you that liking irredeemable media doesn't say something about who they are, but that's fundamentally false. If someone is uncaring enough to still post openly about these types of media, it's clear they don't care enough about not supporting bigotry. Yes, even if they don't give money to the creators, because they are still willingly exposing themselves to bigoted or harmful content and enjoying it.
The previous ask was not meant to be accusatory. Rather it was meant as a concerned question. Believe it or not, there are still some users on here who indulge in these pieces of content, a few of which hide behind the excuse of being part of a minority (Black, trans, whatever) or simply deny how bad their media consumption is to escape accountability. I wouldn't want you associating with those types of people and have that ruin your reliability on this website.
Hopefully this ask has educated you more on these issues and you'll be able to spot irredeemable media in the future and block it out.
incredible essay, you get a C for Creativity
