Do I have a headache because of dehydration, sleep deprivation, or dissociation...? All three...?
#Sighs. I have a Dr's appointment this Thursday.#I'm not looking forward to it...#Really I'm thinking it might've been bad for me to have been taking the naproxen constantly in the sense of I wonder if that's why I've bee#so weak? Today I feel properly sore after. Ahem. Exertion. Something I've missed.#But of course I can't say that in a way that challenges this woman at all.#I can't really think of a pain killer I could take in its place that wouldn't have an undesirable effect other than I occasionally take CBD#But I don't even want to talk about that -_- ...#idk. Probably going to say I've been taking caffeine pills to dull my pain sensitivity and ask if I could get a higher atomoxetine dose.#Not bring up the idea of different stimulants. Let her put those two together if she pleases.#Rn doing that is Fine Enough and I just kind of hate switching meds.#~

question for you and the other the weed enthusiasts you know:
weed is strong as shit these days, and, while I’m glad you guys are having fun, I have a little itty bitty baby tolerance despite being a tall normal sized dude. (Like, 5-10mg dose from edibles gives me a nice buzz level low tolerance lmao)
do they still make actual weed that’s not 7 trillion percent THC? I haven’t smoked in a very long time, and a couple guys from work invited over to try some new stuff they had like “it’s super chill, it’s only like 26%, wait, why are you laughing?”
tbh, I think I’d really kinda like to try just straight smokable cbd hemp, if that exists, but I’ve looked into it a bit, and all I can find out there is “type 2” that’s exploiting the whole THCa loophole in non-legal states.
I mostly just like smoking, but I’m super drug sensitive to basically every compound I’ve ever tried, and I don’t want to get mindmeld wizard high just from one puff on a joint, you know? I miss the 70s landrace weed my uncle used to grow, it was nice to have a whole joint and still have the ability to form short-term memories lmao. Stuff would probably be like smoking straight lawn grass for the average stoner these days haha
im gonna be real here your best bet is probably learning to cut your weed with tobacco or lavender or something non-weed. the lowest %age weed ive ever seen in person was a batch grown as hemp that ended up testing at like .5% over the legal THC limit so it was basically useless. my plug sold it to another plug who sprayed it with distillate and sold it as normal weed and someone showed up to his house with a gun. what was the question again

I used to know a guy who was a dealer in a prohibition state and he had a buyer who bought cannabis infused coconut oil for sex. Always seemed like a waste of good cannabutter to me.
yeah, pretty much as soon as weed was legalized here we started getting people looking for CBD lube, and I... never really understood why?
As far as I can tell, CBD-infused lubricants haven't been proven to actually *do* anything quantifiable to add to the experience for any party involved.
The best "pro" argument I've found is that it *may* improve blood flow to the skin's surface and increase sensitivity, but that's... that's just a vasodilator? You can get that from a massage, or foreplay, or a warm shower, or a cup of tea. I can't really find anything that makes CBD *special*.
I figure it's probably just a gimmick, like when 3D movie tech came out and EVERYTHING was marketed as 3D, or how coconut oil or red wine or whatever get marketed as miracle substances every few years. It kind of feels like it's just a fun new toy to use everywhere, now that we can.
Then again, one could argue that the mental high you get from using it IS a measurable effect, and your brain is the most important sex organ you have....
Idk. I think it's whatever, but *shrug*.

★ sdv bachelors with a migraine-prone!farmer ★
alex
★ keeps pain relief meds on him at all times, for himself because he's prone to injury with his gridball playing/workouts and for you if you're having a migraine
★ surprisingly very knowledgeable about migraines and knows how awful they are because george is also prone to migraines
★ always reminds you to keep a water bottle on you because he knows how important hydration is for health in general but especially for migraine relief
elliott
★ lets you retreat into his cabin whenever you have a migraine attack (regardless if he's present or not) because it has very dim lighting and less noisy (unless you count the waves))
★ keeps a pair of sunglasses and ear plugs on him for you when you get a migraine in public
★ gives a scalp massage if you request it, he knows that it helps him when he gets headaches from lack of sleep due to late night writing sessions
harvey
★ the doctor is in and he is here to help; connects you with a neurologist from zuzu city that he's friends with, advocates for you when need be if your migraine is preventing you from doing things
★ he doesn't get migraines but he does get cluster headaches so he can empathize with you on that front
★ you two are accountability buddies when it comes to taking your migraine or cluster headache medicine (you're both on triptan lol)
sam
★ lets you borrow his headphones if you're out together and you have a migraine attack
★ will be your personal bodyguard if anyone tries to approach you and talk to you while you're having a migraine, he's aware that you're veryyyyy sound sensitive when having a migraine
★ saves up his paychecks to get you one of those fancy massaging eye masks that can help with migraines
sebastian
★ his bedroom is a sanctuary for migraine suffers; it's underground, quiet, and dim
★ if you're having a migraine while he's working, he makes sure to be extra gentle when typing because he knows that sound can make it worse
★ gives you weed for medicinal reasons (usually the 1:1 CBD/THC strains that you can use in a vape or bong)
shane
★ makes sure to keep jas away from you if you're having a migraine while visiting marnie's ranch; no offense to the child but she is veryyyyy loud
★ lets you borrow his jacket if you need to shield your eyes, it smells surprisingly nice and provides you comfort

No idea if any of you have guinea pig experience, but if you do: thoughts on the newer recommendations to rub cbd cream on the ears to treat longer-term pain? Example: just had a cyst removed and the site is still sore.
Obvious qualifications that the owner buys thc-free cream as instructed and doesn’t have to break laws to do so apply here. Also obviously you’d still be giving antibiotics and stuff, this is just for pain.
I’ve been super curious about this one, as someone with a ton of guinea pig experience from the non-medical professional side (is this a good sound/what sex is my pig/is this food safe are the kinds of questions I’m willing to answer, I stay in my lane). Hopefully it isn’t problematic, since I know a lot of piggies with truly terrible reactions to syringes that would vastly prefer having cream rubbed on their ears if at all possible. Thanks!
vet-and-wild here.
As a whole we (veterinary professionals) aren't necessarily at the point where we are recommending CBD products for regular use. The research is lacking and the regulations for what is sold for pets is all over the place. There's just too much variation now and not enough solid evidence for how it should be used, particularly for different species. I would be especially wary of using CBD products for exotics. They are smaller, so dosing may be an issue, and do tend to be more sensitive. And even if the CBD itself doesn't cause an issue, I'd worry about additives in the products as well.
More anecdotally, I do have a fair amount of owners that have tried CBD products for their animals (generally cats and dogs) and the results are mixed. I don't necessarily tell my clients they can't use it, but I tell them basically what I talked about above. Some owners feel like these products have greatly improved their pet's quality of life. Others don't feel like they did anything.
I would honestly love to see more research about how to safely and effectively use CBD for pets, especially exotics. If we have a product that is easy to apply/administer, doesn't cause significant side effects, is affordable, and genuinely helps the animal, I'm all for it! Given the success humans have had it will probably trickle down to vet med eventually but we're not quite there. Maybe in the next 5-10 years.

*Looking for skincare recs 😘
My Enbrel injections have helped with my inflammatory arthritis and has actually improved some of the side effects from methotrexate but with one caveat. I’m developing some mild psoriasis symptoms (diagnosed by my doctor) so I need to put a little extra effort into my skincare.
Besides using aquaphor to combat the psoriasis, I was finally able to figure out I’m reacting to shea butter. Which totally makes sense bc I also have oral allergy syndrome with several latex related foods. The problem is that some of my favorite products have shea butter so if anyone has any recommendations let me know.
HERE’S WHAT I NEED TO REPLACE (no shea butter / preferably vegan but can include beeswax / formulated with sensitive dry or combination skin / I’m light skinned and I don’t wear makeup so it doesn’t have to be tinted or worry about layering but lightweight and matte sunscreen is preferred)
Matte Facial Sunscreen (preferably mineral although I might have to branch branch out into chemical spf if I find something worth trying) REPLACEMENT FOR BARE REPUBLIC MATTE FACE SPF 30
SPF Lip Balm REPLACEMENT FOR JACK BLACK SPF LIP BALM
Natural Deodorant REPLACEMENT FOR NATIVE COCONUT DEODORANT
PRODUCTS THAT CURRENTLY WORK:
Vanicream shampoo, conditioner, face wash, vitamin c serum (which I used as a moisturizer but I’m switching it out for the BYOMA products that are slightly gentler)
BYOMA face mist toner, clarifying serum or hydrating serum, moisturizing gel cream, hydrating body wash
Naturium Cleansing Oil for removing sunscreen
Lazarus Natural CBD products for pain including recovery cream and balm stick
Aquaphor Advanced Therapy Ointment for psoriasis management unfortunately the lip spf has shea :(
Corn starch based powder deodorant. I was using Pretty Frank until the discontinued it and switched to Happy Curves

Battletech story where someone is hot shit because they're the only operator of a general construction industrial mech that uses a neurohelmet. Travels into various cities and facilities that have timing sensitive works, like runway replacement, or drainage and sewage works running under the CBD.
There is no fighting just pages of a highly skilled person with matching equipment working with finesse, getting jobs done with other contractors and operators and seeing how their different methods interact. Set in a relatively larger Periphery solar system so jumps from planet to station to asteroid.

Creature of the night, whisper to me, my ears have no choice but to listen.
The words, they wrap around my ringing hearing and peel my sweaty skin to membrane and fat and bone in layers of paper like a book. A book of unfurling swirling twitching itching and confusion.
Dusts of white cover the ground and make hard frost of the grass.
My throat is frozen shut.
The crunch of each step is the only sound I make.
Tell me the secret of the season,
The one that makes it feel like this.
What ravages your body from the outside in?
Can I pull it out?
Are my hands good for anything but covering up my scream as it turns into a yawn?
My tears wet and prickly, the moon orange with slices cut out of it, beautiful anyways.
If I yell up to it will a spaceman tell me what's wrong?
Is there anything I can do?
Can I do anything for you?
The senses and sensitivities are traitors. Someday they will stop taking prisoners.
I liked our little visits. I refuse to trade plexiglass for heavy cherry wood. Or ashes if it's cheaper.
Tell me what I did wrong, please.
I hate thinking about these things.
The CBD finally seeps. I didn't think it remembered.
Let's turn pages until the words are swimming and the birds shed theirs feathers; suits of armors of silence.

If you have chronic nerve pain (trigeminal neuralgia) due to your broken wisdom tooth like I do, here’s my list of things to try for pain management. These things might help for other chronic or acute facial nerve pain issues, jaw pain, broken teeth, wisdom tooth pain, toothache, etc.
• Ibuprofen, Tylenol and most medications severely interact with my other conditions, especially my stomach conditions, so I avoid them as much as possible. Liquid versions aren’t as bad if I can find dye free, citric acid free, versions in flavors I’m not allergic to. These can help for a lot of people though, just ask your dr if you’re unsure.
• Brushing the broken area, gently, to clean out any food particles that might be stuck in it is hit or miss but can make a difference. It’s always sore for a while after brushing so that’s a con
• I make homemade clove tinctures with vodka and whole and ground cloves. I let it sit in a glass container in a cool, dark place for as long as possible and shake it when I see it (keep it with your spices you’ll remember it more). Then I take a gauze pad and get a dropper full and put it on it. Both cloves and vodka have anesthetic properties and can numb it for a bit. It’s a very temporary solution, also can cause soreness from pressure on the tooth.
• Hot pad on the cheek can cause soreness too (a running theme) BUT it helps a lot especially with cold sensitivity. After you remove the hot pad you can be extra sensitive to the cold or drafts in the air so that sucks too but it passes after a couple mins usually.
• Waterpik flossers are great for sensitive mouth issues, and clean out the tooth area with minimal soreness. Great but takes more spoons to do than toothbrushing and is less portable.
• CBD oil is hit or miss. I have other serious chronic pain disorders and just like many generalized pain management options, it can sometimes get rid of the headache I didn’t notice anymore or the joint pain I dissociate out of existence. Like yeah, glad thats gone but it just makes me focus on the other pain more. Some CBD options aren’t strong enough to do shit for me.
• Warm salt water gargle/rinse is helpful for me most of the time, and it is really important to keep any broken teeth very, very clean due to infection risk. The warmth and salt can help with the pain overall though and so far doesn’t have negative effects for me. It’s very mild in terms of managing the pain though, it’s like a soft gentle kiss on a boo-boo. Feels nice in the moment but when you’re done it usually just goes back to the pain your had.
• TENS units might work for you. I have several electrical abnormalities in my heart so I’m not allowed to use TENS but I’ve heard they can help. Definitely ask a dr first for this one though because I don’t know all the safety risks especially with facial pain
• Warm environments with no drafts or wind, ideal for this pain, for me is not ideal bc of my cardiac issues.
• Medical ultrasound machine, I’ve used these for other conditions in PT and they help a lot!! I don’t know if you can get these outside of a medical setting, especially for a reasonable price, but a provider might be able to help with this. There is the ultrasound goop they put on wherever they do it though so like, might not be fun and also might be a bit sore after?
• Last resort: adult beverages so I’m not paying attention to the pain. Works best for sleeping for me, but obviously has it’s drawbacks.
I avoid:
- Cold environments
- Drafts and wind on my face
- Cold foods
- Hard foods
- Sleeping on the side that hurts
- Chewing on that side
- Talking too much, chewing gum, etc.
- Going anywhere without at least one pain management option available
- Trying to sleep without a pain management option or plan ready to go
- Not brushing my teeth, at minimum I use mouthwash after meals
And some important reminders:
• Watch out for signs of infection and get treatment ASAP. Dental infections are no joke and can be life threatening quickly, especially if you have certain medical conditions such as heart valve disorders (like me).
• These recommendations are from personal experience, talk to your medical providers to see if they’re right for you. I am not a doctor just a humble chronically ill person.
• These are not a replacement for actual medical treatments for your condition, you should still see a professional if you can.
• Many insurances don’t cover dental, dental issues are more common amongst poor people, rooted in the idea that you can still work with fucked up teeth or without teeth . Hence why they’re called “luxury bones”

just scrolling your blog a bit and stumbled across a post asking about Sensitive Tummy Foods. i work at a training kennel so trialing tummy issues has been much of my life so i was going to pitch a bunch of stuff i've seen work in my experience, but for me the first thing i think of if a dog is consistently having runny shits is phasing out chicken-based foods. mild allergies to chicken can be pretty common, and so can beef allergies ngl. you mentioned using nulo, and we actually tried a pair of standard poodles in our guide dog program on nulo because they had a round of giardia as puppies and their stomachs have been fried ever since, and on nulo one of the boys managed to shit UP a wall, so don't worry lol you're not the only one with adverse experiences on that kibble lol
1. we had a lot of success with inukshuk. it's expensive so it's not the only option i'll throw at you, but it's a performance kibble with a higher calorie density and i've seen a lot of dogs do well on it. my personal dog is on inukshuk marine 16 because his gastrointestinal system does horrible things when in contact with chicken, it's probably the best kibble i've given him. if you have an inukshuk distributor in your area the price can halve though so i'd shop around and see if anyone has The Goods
2. pumpkin is a classic belly calming potion, if it's just mildish diarrhea you might have some success just adding a tablespoon of pumpkin puree to meals. propectalin is also a useful supplement for tummy issues and my life would be unlivable without it, it's expensive which sucks but it lasts a while. vets actually prescribe propectalin for dogs with IBS which is so funny to me like you can get it cheaper than prescription of amazon this is like doggie pepto bismol. in my experience propectalin has worked better as a probiotic than fortiflora does, but fortiflora does have a marked effect, and is a good compromise for price. we also used probios, which is definitely effective particularly for dogs with highly explosive stomach issues resistant to everything else; it's a probiotic designed originally for livestock with some combinations blended specifically for dogs. the people hocking goats' milk are dumb though lol. goats' milk does not help in most cases, it can increase inflammation in the GI tract which is the last thing you want for a Shitter On The Loose
NOTE: if you find your boy has issues with beef, DO NOT give propectalin, it has beef in it. you will have a bad day. learn from my mistakes
3. one thing to play with are organ meats. sometimes diarrhea isn't always Belly Inflammation but an imbalance of nutrition, and sometimes an easy fix is picking up some chicken hearts or dried sheep liver and playing a bit. i won't wade into raw food discourse here, but as a warning, if you do take this advice in the direction of purchasing raw items, just know that most dogs have slightly looser stools on a raw diet compared to a kibble only diet, so if you do transition and you're like wtf? that's a pretty normal thing
and random only somewhat related doggie supplement advice i'm pitching just because it's cool: B12 is more effective as a calming supplement than CBD or melatonin. i kinda think most calming supplements are total bullshit but B12 is effective ime not because it provides an innate calming effect but because it addresses a nutritional issue that leads to that effect. as a human i personally start seeing the hat man if i forget to address a particular nutrient so i understand, puppies.
anyway i hope some of this helps your poor teenage mal and his belly troubles! wishing u and ur pups the best and i hope my phd in dog shit can be of assistance to you
i’m saving this for future use thank you for all the info :)

So my neurologist actually did something right for once and gave me some ambien to help me sleep while I'm on the steroid pack since I already have insomnia and steroids make it WAY worse, and I was really excited because this is legit what I've been wanting a doctor to do for like over a year now...but it didn't really help me sleep, at least not as well as the weed does.
I could possibly just need a higher dose(I am known to be very resistant to these sorts of meds, it takes like twice the normal dose of propofol to put me under) or maybe the steroid is just so powerful the meds can't make a dent in it(which I'd believe since I'm really sensitive to steroids and the weed ALSO doesn't help me sleep as well when I'm on them), and also it's really hot and humid right now which makes it hard to sleep in general AND I just got my bc implant put in which is making it hard to sleep since I have to be careful with my left arm and I like NEED to be able to switch what side I sleep on cuz my shitty arthritic joints don't like staying in one position for too long...but this is a bit of a let down ngl. I was really excited to be able to sleep and then maybe use this as proof that I can be trusted with sleep medication and I could finally stop having to spend damn near $100 on weed gummies every month and a half just to Sleep At All but like...hnnnn.....
Idk, when I see my primary I'm going to beg her to send me to a sleep specialist again bcs the weed is NOT sustainable it's already expensive and on top of that I am absolutely building up a tolerance which means I have to take more to sleep and thus spend more money and it's so fucking annoying. I've already made a lot of progress in the trauma department too and that hasn't really helped me sleep better which leads me to believe this is def a result of one of my other medical issues, I def think a sleep specialist is the best bet rn.
The plus side tho is she gave me 15 ambien and I only have three days of the steroids left, and my arm should be healed better in the next couple of days, so I should have a chance to test the ambien without the dual whammy of the arm pain and steroids wrecking my system, and if even that fails well that's a 15 day T break for the weed which honestly I really do need so like there's that.
Also since I have a bunch of new followers quick FAQ/rundown before anyone gives advice:
I have bipolar disorder type II and adhd and severe chronic pain from fibromyalgia, arthritis, and hEDS. The adderall for my adhd isn't the problem, I actually sleep WAY worse without it. I don't drink that many caffeinated beverages and I especially don't drink them basically at all when I'm on steroids so that's not it either. At least a little of my insomnia is due to trauma and not having a dog currently, but I can't adopt another one right now for numerous reasons, and EMDR has helped the trauma nightmares/anxiety let up quite a lot but that hasn't helped me sleep. I can't take CBD it makes my brain feel like I'm hooked up to a car battery. I also can't smoke bcs asthma so unfortunately I am stuck buying edibles which are very expensive. Insomnia isn't on the medical marijuana criteria in my state so I can't even make it cheaper that way. Melatonin does nothing. Benadryl also does nothing. Exercising before bed also does nothing. I can't do yoga(hEDS) or meditate(adhd). Cutting down on screen time before bed doesn't help and I already spend as little time in my bedroom as possible during the day so my brain keeps associating being in there with sleeping. Listening to music/a podcast doesn't help. Sleepy teas and nice baths and all that before bed doesn't help. I have a weighted blanket which does help a little, but sucks bcs it traps heat like a motherfucker, but I'd sleep worse without it so yeah. Also I can't make my house any cooler/less humid because I'm renting and it's old and shitty and doesn't have real air conditioning and the little portable ac unit + dehumidifier is trying but like...it's not enough I'm still hot and sweaty all night.
I am on hydroxyzine and nortryptraline and they don't make me even a little tired. I cannot take SSRIs or SNRIs on account of the bipolar and the fact that I'm just really sensitive to stuff that messes with my serotonin, even when I'm on a mood stabilizer, and the only med that I can stand that does serotonin stuff is the nortryptraline and it's also the only thing that helps my pain so switching it to something else isn't an option. I build up a resistance to seroquel really fast which makes my insomnia infinitely worse in the long run so I don't see the point in taking it. I have tried basically everything my psychiatrist can think to give me outside of narcotics, which led to her straight up telling me to my face she just can't help me before clarifying that apparently narcotics are somehow worse for me than not sleeping so she won't prescribe them even if they might help. I don't snore or wake up gasping for air so I know I don't have COPD or sleep apnea.
Literally the only thing that has ever made sleeping easy is weed(and opioids but those don't help my pain and have so many hoops to jump through so I don't wanna take them anymore), specifically indica with CBN, but it has to have THC in it I've tried pure CBN + CBD gummies and they don't make me tired they just make me feel weird 'cuz of the CBD.
So yeah. I am up shit creek without a paddle and I really quite desperately need to see a sleep specialist. I appreciate advice but like believe me, I've tried just about everything I can think of and none of it helps. I just naturally have really bad insomnia. And it sucks.
