While everyone mentioning therapy for both characters makes me happy to see how far self-help has come and what strides mental health has taken in the past few years, I wanted to remind everyone that: people are messy. We're animals. Sometimes we'll do things we regret, say things we don't mean, sometimes we break things, cry or do the unthinkable. While I'm not justifying hurtful behavior, it's also a reason why we love sad songs. We're complicated, chaotic and I think it's important to embrace that humanity in us. I really relate to some of the emotions of the series, throwing dignity and pride just to have a chance at love again, being defensive and hiding true feelings, trying to be helpful but probably doing the opposite, etc. It feels so human.

Watching to my star 2 is just me pointing at the screen any time Jiwoo is talking to Seojoon and telling him not to be mean. And then he's says something mean anyway. And then has the audacity to look sad about it once Seojoon isn't looking at him anymore.

I feel like Gap and Seo Joon suffer from the same issue.

The person they like is nice to everyone else but a big jerk to them.

But don't they know that in BLs, it always means that they like you too?

To My Star | “Givers have to set limits, because takers really Do”
I have finally caught up with To My Star and suffice to have I have lot of emotions.
I didn’t know about To My Star till a 2-3 weeks ago, I came across an edit of the show while I was looking at KinnPorsche edits. It was one of those where they all the shows are listed. I was curious so I looked it up and found out that it even has a season 2 currently airing. Since the last weekend I have caught up till Season2 Episode 6 and my god it has been one emotional journey.
I will talk about season 2 episode 6 first, because nothing beats that episode. I think it’s fair to say I liked Seo Joon as a character very quickly, but even more when he explained himself in season 1 as him being more expressive and how does that not equate to being flirt. Back to S2E6 because now as much as it would be controversial or not cliché, Seo Joon ending up with Ji Woo would probably will not be a good path to move forward on.
In the Ep6 while Ji woo was having a word with his ex he mentions that it’s because she was always with him he could focus on his cooking, which is a parallel to when he says that he used to feel alone during the time Seo Joon was busy or they were even together. In both the relationships he always found his benefits, for me it does look like that, which basically means if he has a partner who pays him full attention it wont work, and if he has one which keeps busy or is busier than him that won’t work. Its like claiming that he is right in both sides of the argument. The quote above in the title was the only thing I could think of once I finished ep6, don’t know why, it truly felt that Ji Woo knows how much power he has on Seo Joon and is somewhat relishing in it.
Seo Joon is practically ready to lose everything about himself that makes him well him, be it his career, his mannerisms, his habits. To love someone like that gives you nothing but hurt. To lose yourself is no way to love and in the end it does come to bite you back, because how would Seo Joon live even if they get together, there always be a sword hanging on his head that one miniscule thing and Ji Woo can drop everything and disappear.
For Seo Joon and Ji Woo to end up together, something drastically tragic has to have happened with Ji Woo otherwise I don’t see it happening, nor do I want to because Seo Joon does not deserve after the pain he has gone through. Hell even Ji Woo doesn’t because he found to continue his life the way he wanted, in a place where he belongs. He did and said things that will hurt Seo Joon the worst and as much as he is hurting for whatever reasons that still remain unknown to us how does hurting the one you love justify that.
PS - Different opinions are welcome. I am new to the show so if I missed something do let me know.  Also we get 2 new episodes tomorrow...!!!!

To My Star headcannons
Tumblr media
Just in case season 2 eats them up and chucks them out, here are some headcannons I have for the lovely Seo Joon and Ji Woo from To My Star:
Ji Woo is an early riser and he watches the way Seo Joon is bare of any pretences and solely himself. He watches him gently wake up to the world as his Seo Joon tries to hide from the world by snuffling in to Ji Woo’s chest.
Seo Joon becomes remarkably concerned over Ji Woo’s burns and cuts from being a chef and peppers kisses over them.
Ji Woo and Seo Joon cook gimbap and saffron risotto on their anniversary. Seo Joon no longer cries at saffron risotto because of the newly happy association the dish has with Ji Woo.
The day Seo Joon does cry over saffron risotto is on their wedding day, as he stares at Ji Woo over every spoonful.
Forehead kisses all the time
Seo Joon likes to teasingly use pet names (“honey”, “my heart”) but his favourite way to address Ji Woo is “Ji Woo-ya”.
Ji Woo’s walls fall down slowly but surely, until his dimpled smile and laughter isn’t as rare for Seo Joon to see.
Seo Joon and Ji Woo go on a shopping spree to fill up Ji Woo’s wardrobe with a variety of clothing. Ji Woo can now be seen branching out in to colours like blue and dark green. Seo Joon’s goal is yellow.
When Seo Joon is upset and tired, Ji Woo will place butterfly kisses to cheer him up.
Any time they face any major fallbacks, they play basketball and drink soju. The fresh air and the nostalgia allows them to breathe a little easier and confront their issues.
Seo Joon learns dishes and cooks them for Ji Woo, it becomes a hobby for him whenever he has the time. He hangs on every comment Ji Woo gives about the food and beams brightly at every compliment.
Gentle nape kisses in the early morning when Seo Joon is waking up, or when Ji Woo is cooking.
When Seo Joon is tired he rubs his head against Ji Woo’s chest as though wanting to bury himself in to him.
Majority of the things I mentioned in: https://jochasada.tumblr.com/post/686133897478684672/what-i-need-from-season-2-of-to-my-star
There are so many more headcannons I have, but for now this will have to do.
It is the start of season 2 tomorrow so good luck to all our hearts. Hwaiting!!
