I love them so much. You've got Bang Chan and his seven insane children.

Bang Chan/Chris Bang: leader. Born in Seoul but raised in Sydney, Australia. In skz itself, he's a vocalist and composer/producer, but he's also part of 3racha, a rap/production team he was in predebut with Changbin and Jisung. Songs for Chan...god, he's amazing in all of them. I can't pick one. Lol.

Lee Know (Lee Minho): Dance leader. Pretends he has zero heart but actually is all heart. Devoted cat dad to his babies soonie, doongie, and dori. Lino actually used to be a backup dancer for BTS during Fire era! Case 143 is their newest title track and he's got some really beautiful parts in it.

Changbin (Seo Changbin): the definition of "looks like he could kill you, is actually a cinnamon roll." Man is buff as hell and basically lives at the gym, but he's a squishy little aegyo king. He was called the "dark rapper" but idk man. He's the cutest little bean. He's also in 3racha. His song Streetlight is really underrated but gives you a really good sense of his skills.

Hyunjin (Hwang Hyunjin): a dancer and rapper, Hyunjin's dance style reminds me a lot of Jimin. Check out his Play With Fire dance cover, it's amazing. Hyunjin is possibly the most dramatic little shit on the planet, but we wouldn't have him any other way. He's also an incredible painter.

Han (Han Jisung): Han was born in Korea but spent a lot of time in Malaysia as a kid, and his English is excellent. He's a brilliant writer and does a lot of the lyrical work with 3racha. Wish You Back is an incredible song he did that's said to be based off the anime You Name. He's been open about his mental health struggles and had to take some time off in 2019 due to severe social anxiety, but he's doing a lot better these days. He's an introvert and a nerd and I love him.

Felix (Felix Lee/Lee Yongbok): Our sunshine! Felix is also Australian, born and raised in Sydney to Korean parents. He's very sweet and sensitive (usually the first to cry during ending ments 🥺) and his voice WILL throw you for a loop. It doesn't match his face at all. 😂 If you watch God's Menu, you'll know what I mean. A rapper and our resident tiktok king, Lix is always trying to cheer up Stay.

Seungmin (Kim Seungmin): You want sass? Seungmin has the sass for you. He loves the guys, but if there's an opening to roast, he'll be the first one to jump in - especially Chan. 😂😂😂 Seungmin is the lead vocalist and has the voice of an angel - watch the cover of Love Song by IU that he did on Kingdom with BtoB's Eunkwang and ateez's Jongho!

I.n (Yang Jeongin): our maknae, our baby, the love of everyone's life. Innie has maknae privilege oozing out of every pore in his body and he makes full use of it. He's probably the least outwardly affectionate of the guys and is constantly trying to fight off their attempts at skinship - especially Han and Felix. He really does love them though. For a good giggle, watch his song Maknae on Top that he did with Chan and Changbin.

This playlist is for Song Camp: Howl in Harmony, which is a 6-episode miniseries skz did where they worked on their unit songs for their Noeasy album. You can see a lot of their interactions here which is nice. For incredible group performances, I recommend their cover of Pray (I'll Be Your Man) from Kingdom as well as their song Wolfgang. The Kingdom performance of that is incredible, but I recommend watching another one as well or instead as Hyunjin couldn't participate in Kingdom and having him missing really does suck.

My Thoughts on S1E3, "Awl"

I love that Jack's bucket list includes finishing the Harry Potter books. Guess he's not a one-trick pony after all with sci-fi. A healthy blend of science fiction and fantasy is just what the doctor ordered.

Dylan Thomas reference! That poem was written about the poet's own father, and is about how everyone, no matter who they are or what they stand for, fights against death in the end. He's begging his dad to "rage, rage against the dying of the light," to not give in to death so easily, to keep fighting. Just taught this poem, actually, so I'm vibing with this reference super hard. Though to be fair, I'd be vibing with it anyway. Love Dylan Thomas.

Oh my gosh, this is the one with the fire extinguisher and inflatable escape! I'd forgotten which episode that came from, but I see GIFs of it all over Tumblr. Poor Mac especially, that looks like it hurts. Why is Lucas Till so good at being whumped?!

I cannot get over how small and excited Bozer is, not a care in the world except for his movie. It's exciting to think about what's to come for his character growth, though I do wish he wouldn't have to go through all the things he does. :(

Jack's conversations with his dad at the grave are just everything. And I feel cheated that we haven't gotten to see Mac have the same kind of conversations at Jack's grave (though I firmly believe it's a regular occurrence off-screen).

Seriously, the way he talks to his dad is so familiar, so comfortable, so natural. It's like Daddy Dalton is right there with him and it fills me with so many emotions that I can't even.

The smile on Jack's face and the pride in his voice when he talks about Mac to his dad is the purest thing ever.

Also, that's a big-ass tombstone Jack is leaning against.

"Hi, Mr. Dalton. How's... life?" MAC! 😂

I can't tell you how much I love it when other characters talk about how smart Mac is. "He's a genius..."

First mention of Mac's dad. It's sweet how invested Jack is in Mac rebuilding his relationship with his old man. Also, I really wish we would have gotten a flashback of Jack's dad at some point. He seems like such an amazing man.

Some seriously cool MacGyverisms in this episode. The whole process of “killing” Ralph and bringing him back with office supplies is so OG MacGyver and it gives me all the warm fuzzies.

Ralph: “You’re not a scientist, you’re not a doctor. So how the hell do you know all this stuff?” Mac: “...I read a lot of books?” I love Mac so much.

“Now go die.” Lolololol

The moment with Ralph wanting to call his mom and grow the hell up is surprisingly genuine and heartbreaking. Character development for a character in only one episode, hello, is that you?

Riley’s comeback about Jack’s plan to take out six guys if Mac takes out two is another winner. (Riley: 2, Jack: 0) Still, I love the whole, “Sure it does [count as a plan]. First, I’ll take two. Then, I’ll take the other four.” This is why Mac is the plan guy, not Jack.

“Or I can take them all out.” Mac’s confidence = 🔥

I might need to start a Mac sass counter too. Jack: “You seriously want me to put this on my face?” Mac: “Only if you like breathing.”

They really liked choking Mac in the early episodes, didn’t they? Not that I’m complaining. Actually, why did that stop? That strangled, panicked cry of “JACK?!” is music to my fanfic writing, hurt/comfort obsessed, whump-loving soul.

That cough - it actually hurts me to hear it! They should have given us some more repercussions or aftercare for Mac breathing in that gas!

Oh he did not just call Riley “little hottie.” I’m back to wanting to kill him, character development be darned. So diminutive, dehumanizing, and objectifying. This guy has more than won the douchebag lottery. Riley can more than stick up for herself, but still. The way he speaks to her here makes me feel all kinds of gross.

He just said “ya heard” unironically. Can we let Jack punch him now, please?

Jack offering to let Ralph keep the cash he lifted if he gets to punch him is great, but even better is Mac and Riley offering to chip in money for The Cause.

Oh, yeah, Bozer was in this episode. I’m excited for when he is utilized more!

Bozer’s monster Mac is nightmare fuel!

“A letter? That you put in the mail? It’s 2016.” Hey, as someone who has an actual, old-school type pen pal, step off, Jack.

Mac: “You just gonna watch?” Jack, offended: “Not anymore.” How is it Jack is like Mac’s dad but they also bicker like 5-year-olds? This relationship is so strange, so wonderful, and the heart of the show in so many ways. I love them.

Mac’s words of wisdom about the nature of life are actually super encouraging and exactly what I needed to hear today.

I’d forgotten how much I love this episode – t’s so fun! Although the Codex storyline in season 4 is probably my favorite plot-wise, coming back to these early episodes is like a breath of fresh air! Excellent, excellent episode with so much to offer!

Wow this episode had alot. I made a separate post with a theory about Oliver's statement here and a realization regarding him and Jane Prentiss here. They are alot to unpack

Oliver is so. Freaking. Relatable! Learned economics and hated it. Nearly had a breakdown like him because of it. "going to stay with some of the few friends that had survived my year of stress-fuelled outbursts and constantly cancelled plans." yep. That.

I think it's really interesting the effect entities have on people who are decidedly not their victims. Everyone leaving no questions so the entity can set the scene for the scare. Like with Gillespie how no one lived in the apartment building he was in etc. Alot of work into a handful of people being genuinely scared.

Gerry's burns stopped at the neck? How did he manage that. Also it's hilarious to imagine that he's like "yes burn all of me but please. not my goth makeup"

Zippo lighter with eye design!! And Jon has web design! They are brothers (joke but still really interesting)

Liquids were boiling around her and she didn't feel the heat. Also an interesting effect just for the scare.

Gerry got eye superpowers like Jon if he can function while injure and filled with painkillers.

“Yes. For you, better beholding than the lightless flame.” Gerry knew she'd be haunted by a Fear from that day on and realised that perhaps being watched would be easier for her specifically to deal with than the Desolation. I guess that's a way of assessing people. Which fear would least bother you.

Jon is already enamoured with Gerry you can tell. He can't wait to hear more from him. Just you wait Jon.

They really can access alot of information huh. CCTV Interviews files. Pretty impressive for a non-research team. They're so good at it they'd rather do that than actual archiving.

The sound editing in this episode is not that great it was a bit to get used to.

We get a glimpse at the Lukases which is... Ugh

Jon is actually trying to be nice. Granted it's not working and she is a bit of a standoffish person herself who just went through a bad time but alot of her reactions are not his fault. He was trying to be considerate giving her space to record but he did stay when she asked.

She had already leaned into the Lonely before the incident it's interesting to see how some of these statements start with a person actually liking the aspect that later turns to fear. Same happens in lost johns' cave.

Evan Lukas sounds like an avatar of the exact opposite of the Lonely. At least to her. That's a really interesting effect from someone, especially a Lukas.

But maybe dying wasn't his family killing him but him not feeding his patron which he tried to leave. Really tragic.

She was in Martin's domain eyyy!

It's got a bit of buried aspects to it with the grave stuff and all.

"My fingers dug into the soft cemetery dirt as I looked around desperately for anything I could use to save myself, and my hand closed upon that heavy piece of headstone. It took all my self-control to keep a grip on that anchor, as I slowly dragged myself away from the edge of my lonely grave." The headstone was her anchor? But it said forgotten. I wonder how it helped her pull away. It probably had to go together with Evan's voice. Like the rib and the tape recorders having to work together! I just wonder what meaning the stone had for her.

"I’d be tempted to chalk this one up to a hallucination from stress and trauma, if it wasn’t for the fact... " God he does believe her heavens. He's not a skeptic!

I remembered them talking about how he was supposed to be a person who cursed alot and they couldn't do it because of sensor and I have to agree this could have been much better for the story. I tried imagining curses in some places.

Ack a bad statement she was not a good person all around

Another example of the entities setting the stage by controlling others not to interfere with the victim's experience.

Not much to say about this one other than its one of the scarier ones for sure. And her recording in the end is really the cherry on top. There is alot of discrepancy between what she believed happened and what actually did which shows how much the fear plays with and changes around reality. That's also how she manages to lie in a statement to Beholding. It wasn't a lie. It was her version of reality and she did not remember saying those awful words.

I have said this before and I will say it again. I have been in this fandom for a month and I ship Destiel and Cockles anyone who has a problem with this then move along and/or if you are an anti and read this, keep your hateful comments to yourself.

That being said, I have read about almost all ships in the fandom but mostly Destiel, Cockles, Wincest, and J2. Through all the reading and discovery, I still have to say I ship Cockles and Destiel more than ever before. However, I have seen some things from the antis that did not sit well with me.

This is going to be a long post so brace yourself and it is mostly about the hate the antis (anti-cockles, anti-wives , and anti-Destiel Shippers spread). Also this is a rant so don’t mind me,

ON DESTIEL

The hate on Destiel is massive. Mostly this is from Bronlies who hate Cas like he is the anti-Christ, and the Wincest shippers.

Now I am not trying to rain on anyone’s parade but come on. Cas is Dean’s best friend. Whether you ship them romantically or not, it is canon that Cas Dean’s best friend. We have seen time and again how miserable Dean is every time Cas dies. Dea has also expressly stated that Cas is his best friend and even said they are better together; all three of them including Sam. He has called him his family. So why the hate? Chuck himself has said that he has rebuilt Cas more times than anyone.

Now, people who believe that it is better to ship Sam and Dean who are literally blood brother but it is not okay to ship Dean and Cas what is wrong with you? Is it okay for someone to fuck their brother and/or be in love with them? I mean come on.

Before I was even a shipper, I always looked forward to episodes that Cas was in. He brought a different dynamic to the show in a positive way. Yes, I love the brothers but Cas is just deifferent and all the sass he brings makes the show, at least to me 10 times better. Sue me.

People saying that JA would never be comfortable with Destine because he is a Christian. I mean, he can call Chuck a dick, call angels dicks, make deals with demons and all other unchristian things but kissing another man is where he draws the line? If he was such a Christian, why does he let another man straddle him on stage or want to kill God?

Someone once said that JA supports wincest. I saw the video and I get what he said is that whatever floats your boat or something like that. So why is it so hard for him when it comes to Destiel? I don’t understand this man. He is a paradox.

I have seen antis, mostly those who ship J2 throw shade at MC saying that JA doesn’t like him, he just tolerates him and everything they do is for PR. I have not once seen anyone say that JP doesn’t like MC. You know why? I believe they view MC as a threat to their J2 ship.

So I stumbledupon this antis blog who had a whole analysis (much like am doing here) on why JA cannot be a couple. Here are some that I remember from the top of my head:

1.     That JA said that he thinks Matt Bomer is attractive.

2.     That JA moved to Austin to be live next to JP.

3.     That JA and MC have nothing in common being that JA plays golf and sings etc and that MC does woodwork, writes poetry and bicycle touring.

4.     That JA is with JP hence no. 2.

5.     That JA does not curse on stage but MC does.

6.     That MC does not take acting seriously but JA does.

Now now now. This beats logic. All the above things I beg to differ with not because I am cockles shipper but it is just common sense.

Being with someone or rather being in love with someone does not mean any of the above things have to be true. Hear me out.

1.     On finding Matt Bomer attractive. I have many celebrity crushes, there are also ordinary people that I find attractive. But then again, I have a boyfriend, who I am in love with; I have been with for six years. But he looks nothing like my celebrity crushes or the ordinary people I find attractive. Does that mean I am not in love with him? No. It means I have eyes and I can appreciate beauty and have a few fantasies but I chose to be with him because I love him. He also has other people he finds attractive that look nothing like me, does that mean he does not love me? I mean come on.

 Oh the most hilarious thing is that the anti said you cannot compare Matt to MC since Matt is way attractive. I mean come on; they may not look alike but they both have dark hair, blue eyes. Seriously people! And MC is so handsome and adorable at the same time. Sometimes I feel like he looks better than JA and JP. Sue me.

 2.     On JA moving to Austin. Lol. This means that he went to live next to his best friend. I mean come on. I have moved to live next to my best friend (bff) who is married. Does that mean I am in love with her? Hell no! But I feel safer knowing that she is there for me.

Also people need to understand, MC and JA could be involved romantically or not (pick your poison) but you don’t need to be next to your lover to love them or be in a relationship with them. Lond distance relationships anyone? They have families and kids and other priorities. Just because you are in a relationship with someone does not necessarily mean you live together or evn in the same area. Distance makes the heart grow fonder and also they are where they are now because of other priorities in their lives. So, living together or in the same town doesn’t make you more or less in love.

3.     On the issue of common interests. This made me laugh so hard. I mean comeon, People who are together do not need to share any interests. The diversity of their interests is probably what attracted them to each other. Also how can you say a poet and a singer have nothing in common? They are artists. MC can write poems that JA can sing. Oh also remember that video MC’s friend DM posted on Twitter where they did the whole bicycle touring in Germany? Uh huh? JA seemed to be interested in that a lot. So..

4.     I could say a lot about JA being with Jp. This J2 being married and their wives being beards is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. Seriously, J2 tinhats have gone ahead to hate of D’s posts and call her names. Telling her to stop pretending that she is JA. It is laughable and not in a nice way, really. Can they just stop? Before I became a cockles shipper I watched J2 videos where they interact be it cons, red carpet moments or even gag reels. It is just different. All I see are two bros; one that is really playful like a little puppy and the other one trying to be the big brother. As for JA and MC, it is different, there are things that JA is comfortable when Mc does that he is not comfortable when JP does them. Neck kisses for a start.

Also most of the J2 tinhats evidence about J2 being real is rarely backed up by visual evidence and if there is any, it is usually from years ago. I am not hating on antis, just stating facts.

5.     I mean, cursing on stage really? I curse all the time my bf doesn’t. Does that mean he doesn’t like me or love me? Hell to the Fucking No! Suck it!

6.     On Mc not taking acting seriously. Yeah I can guess why he doesn’t. It is not his only priority unlike JA who has chosen it as a career path. From what I have seen, MC’s priorities include making the world a better place through charities, politics, and oh, he is also a writer. Oh so forgive him if he is not obsessed with acting. Besides JA says that he likes how he acts as Cas because it is not like anything he has seen from other guest stars that have come on the show. I mean not being serious about something does not mean that you are not good at it. Would he have lasted 11 seasons if he was not good at what he does?

There was also hate that JA is only around MC for PR and he actually hates him. There were some photos and gifs so the apparent hate. So, if he cannot stand him, why is there so much evidence of JA going to MC to give some love, Neck kisses, intimate IG posts, face caresses, ass smacks, calling him his baby dadfy, heart eyes, even when they don’t know that they are being filmed?

Also why is it during the Vegascon 2020 all JA did was bring up MC unnecessarily even when no one, absolutely nobody asked him to. Come on! stop the bs and admit that Cockles is the realest ship in the history of ships!!

ON THE WIVES

I swear bitches be crazy. How can you just hat someone for literally nothing? This is mostly from J2 tinhats at other J2 stans who do not ship J2 together romantically. I mean…comeon. You do not need to be a stan for the wives just because they are married to J2 but please stop with the madness.

I recently saw someone comment on various JA posts on IG asking why he is lying to the fans that he is with D when he is with JP. So many rude things have been said about the wives especially D that it breaks my heart.

Seiously? People have gone ahead even to say that she is with JA’s friend SC and that the twins are not JA’s they are SC’s since D and SC are ‘always’ hanging out together. My question is, so D is not supposed to hang out with their friends? And for Chuck’s sake, everyone can see that the twins especially the boy (idk their names, sorry) looks like JA’s twin. I mean come on people.

I believe that they hate D because she says how much she loves MC and that Cas is her favorite character and that they are also bitter that JA chose her and not them. Just my opinion, but what do I know. On JP and G. I don’t know much about them mostly because I do not follow either of them of IG or elsewhere but I have seen hate on G as well.

The antis have gone ahead to say that when JA said that he was hanging out with SC writing songs, that he was lying and that nothing was happening he was just trying to dampen the rumours. I wonder how they felt when the album by JA and Sc came out last year. Jokes on you haters. Bitches be crazy fr.

Oh, the antis also say that the same way JA looks at his wife is the same way he looks at MC. With contempt. I mean talk about hanging yourself with your own rope. What they are saying is, JA feels about his wife the same way he feels abouts MC. Aww! That is true love bitches.

If JA actually cannot stand MC, shouldn’t he have gotten him fired from the show or at least make sure he gets less screen time and that they don’t have any panels together being that JA is the star of the show and all. I mean Mark left and he was a major character to the plot so...

Also why would JA give and buy MC clothes if he hates him? Give him a ring, a bracelet? Huh? Explain it to me.

Oh, some anti also said that before every Cockles panel at JIBCON JA cries and has to be forced on stage by Daniella and JP has to give him a hug and that’s why he drinks a lot of apple juice. LOL. WTF? What do you say to such people. I cannot even..My question is, are we talking about the same Cockles panels that I have seen? Then JA deserves all the Oscars and Tony Awards for his impeccable acting skills when he is around MC. Must really hate him. *wink*

MY TWO CENTS ON COCKLES

I know JA gives off mixed actions about MC. But I think it is to confuse people like us, shippers.  He does’t want to too out there so he tries so hard to be mean with his words. But his actions tell a different story. I mean, who gets a boner when their friend straddles them on stage and then goes ahead to post that chest to chest selfie on IG. That is the gayest thing I have ever seen.

Sharing clothes? I mean friends do share clothes but if it is like a daily thing. More than 20 articles of clothing exchanged between each other on various occasions even when they are apart does not make sense to me. And to make matters worse, JA does not deny it. One even had a tag on it. Lol. We are not children, we can see what is going on.

The 2014 DallasCon – Rob’s Birthday Party. WTF? Was all that between JA and MC? Why did he he swallow and react like that when he saw MC’s bare abdomen? Who does that? Also the looks when MC was leaving the stage. Come on.

Also what was up with the” I love you from the bottom of my heart” at the MTV top 10 in 2010.

The wife is my rock but I am glad to have some pebbles in my life.

Truth is, JA could post a video of him balls deep in MC and the antis could say that somehow MC manipulated JA to post it for PR.

People need to leave MC alone, he ie a human being who has made mistakes, JA and JP have too and I don’t see the antis hating on them. The double Standard s FOH.

I could write about this forever but the truth is JA loves MC, and D and V know that they love each other. All their friends know including JP and other castmates. I believe they know it is more than just friends and the antis can’t stand it because they also know it to be true.

JA LOVES MC. JP LOVES MC. J2M LOVE EACH OTHER. J2 LOVE THEIR WIVES. STOP THE HATE!!

December 14: 1x28 The City on the Edge of Forever (Also I’m 32)

For my birthday, I watched an ep of Star Trek, because I can. It was very good and I enjoyed watching but now I’m starting to get some pretty bad evening anxiety, so!! I’m going to try to ignore that.

Here are some thoughts:

I love this wavy camera work. Space turbulence.

I recognize that this intro really doesn’t have anything to do with anything but it’s still really, like, sudden--weird time things are happening and the ship keeps shaking!

Sulu’s looking damn good today. (I say this in every ep with a closeup of Sulu.)

That was a real rookie mistake on McCoy’s part there, stabbing himself with the hypo. (Harlan Ellison voice lol.) (Still better than the original script.)

“They’ll never catch me!”

Sulu and Spock have been trading eye shadow secrets obviously. It’s a real shame that the AOS movies didn’t give people awesome makeup. I mean heck if you couldn’t force yourself to give men obvious makeup (the horror!) you could have at least done something cool with Token Girl Uhura.

Kirk sounds very formal today. Idk why, but his tone is just slightly different--calling Scotty “Engineer” and something about his log... Probably just me being weird or an effect of there being so many writers on this thing.

Damn, McCoy was almost as good as Spock, the way he knocked that guy out so efficiently.

I’m pretty sure this is Uhura’s first landing party. And she barely gets to do anything because this is the Kirk and Spock Show today.

“Unbelievable.” / “That’s funny.” Is it though?

Legit laughed out loud when Bones popped up from behind that rock, right after Uhura said he wasn’t there.

I don’t think Spock likes the Guardian. “Primitive science knowledge? Excuse you, Sir.”

The Guardian really is just like hand-wave-y sci fi lol. Uh it’s really old and really advanced so it can’t really explain itself, the point is, time travel!!!! I mean I don’t hate it but still.

Kirk is very quick to want to play with time. A little vacation away from his usual work. Getting to satisfy his curiosity and be his nerdy self and learn things. Can you even imagine TOS Kirk in AOS???

Love the dramatic moments: Kirk looking very suddenly when the Guardian says “Behold.” Jumping into the sand as he fails to catch McCoy.

Kirk’s biggest fantasy--a vacation that’s also exploration--turns into his greatest nightmare--loneliness.

“No star date” Can you even imagine Starfleet HQ getting this? “Whoops we just destroyed literally everything. Don’t worry, we’ve probably fixed it if you’re reading this.”

History nerd Kirk. Correctly identifying the Great Depression. If Spock thinks THIS is barbaric, what would he think about today?

“I’m going to be difficult to explain in any case.” Truly, only Kirk, and his love goggles, would choose the ONE alien in his crew to take with him on the first expedition into the past. This was completely foreseeable guys.

Spock’s like “That’s a cool car. Let me examine it now. In the middle of the street. While people yell at me.”

This ep starts out so dramatic and now all of a sudden it’s a comedy, right down to the music. (Again, a sign of how many writers had their hands in this.)

“I’m going to like this century. Simpler, easier to manage.” LOL.

“You’re a police officer. I recognize the traditional accoutrements.” Spock is having such a good time watching this.

Really relying on American racism to explain the alien, huh? “I know you don’t know what Asians look like so.... he’s Chinese.”

“I double dog dare you to put together a computer, Mr. Spock.” Effective.

Put on the hat, the hat!!!!

Starfleet’s greatest Captain couldn’t come up with a fast fake name for Spock.

Kirk looks good in this outfit. Actually the outfits in general are great.

Honestly what does Edith think of these weirdos?

Kirk hears trash talk: “Shut up. SHUT UP.” No talking badly about women in THIS house.

She should have been living in our time. I wonder if she always thought space was cool or if Kirk (and uh literal actual alien Spock) inspired her.

Spock’s eye roll at “I find her most uncommon.”

Kirk definitely did manual labor in high school.

Spock really is building a whole-ass computer.

“I’ve brought you vegetables? What else do you want??” Is this the first reference to him being a vegetarian?

And there was only one bed...

Edith’s reaction to Spock’s sass is hilarious. She’s really not confused by him at all.

When Spock’s straightforward, honest answers about why he stole the tools don’t work, Kirk steps in with the charm offensive.

“By his side, as if you’ve always been there and always will” is basically the toast at their wedding.

Favorite thing about Edith remains that she meets an actual alien and says eh, not so weird, and then looks at the Iowa Farm Boy and is like ????????? does not compute.

“Why don’t you want to talk about the war? Are you a war criminal?”

I feel like Kirk gets a weird kick out of saying he and Spock “served together.” And like it’s literally the truth? But he has this little smile like he’s getting away with a cool lie.

Only about 10 years until we get the cool alien book about love!

Spock bringing out the big guns with today’s requisite “Jim.”

Imagine meeting McCoy like this: weird-ass uniform, rambling and paranoid. Thinks he’s met a humanoid alien. Getting so upset about 20th century hospitals he starts crying and rolling on the ground. He’s so empathetic. I love him.

What a way to go, killing yourself accidentally with a future weapon you steal from a 23rd century time traveler you mistake for a drunk.

Bones is so good at not being seen. That’s straight up comedy how he just passes by behind Spock. There are really weird, random comedy elements in this.

“She was right but at the wrong time.”

Kirk’s in love with Edith... I mean he’s not lol but that IS what a romantic such as him would say.

“I’m a surgeon, not a psychiatrist,” says the man who testified as a psychiatrist at a court martial in a previous episode.

How convenient that U.S.S. is an abbreviation she’d recognize.

“I don’t believe in YOU.”

I know this isn’t actually true, but it feels like Spock literally just came out of the room to be jealous while Kirk and Edith kiss.

Spock’s lesson “do[ing] as your heart tells you to do” is wrong.

So McCoy just got over it, I guess. Kirk was all ready to manipulate time to stop the accident but all they needed to do was find him, catch him, and sedate him a while I guess.

“My young man.” So cute.

The reunion hug with McCoy is adorable. I watched it 4 times.

Yet another Kirk vacation fantasy foiled.

No final talk on the bridge... Very dramatic and sad.

This IS a really good episode but I just still can’t get behind calling it the BEST Star Trek episode. To me, it doesn’t feel enough like Star Trek to be the best. It’s a really great story, and it’s entertaining to watch, but it’s not representative. Too few of the crew--not even really that sci-fi-ish at the end of the day. Like I said, the Guardian is really generic and ill-explained, just a prop for the main story. And while that main story is obviously all about time travel and the effects of time travel, even THAT is incidental to the real point, which is the moral question: save one or save many? But it’s not even a conundrum, like in TWOK/TSFS,because there is no real choice. Obviously Kirk is going to let Edith die. To do otherwise wouldn’t just damn many more people in the 20th century to death, it would damn his crew and his ship and, in a way, himself. So it’s more like, well, inevitably, she will die, and he will let her, but it will be really sad. So the point is just this tragic, doomed love story. Which is not a bad story in any sense, but it’s not what one generally primarily associates with TOS.

I’m not sure this is making sense because I’m just working out my thoughts as I type.

I do think there’s some interesting stuff here: I think one could do a lot with what this ep does for Spock’s development, since we don’t hear too much from him but he’s pretty intimately involved in all this. And the lessons it’s teaching him about feelings and vulnerability are...not great.

Also Uhura saying “at least be happy” in the beginning ties in interestingly to the rest of the narrative--he could have chosen his happiness, in a way, at least fleetingly. Perhaps it would have been more interesting if Kirk had ever really considered letting Edith live--but then, would he be Kirk if he ever considered it, seriously, out loud? Am I being dense by thinking the narrative should have said this in so many words, when it’s obvious enough as is?

I’m also not totally sure about the... message. I’d prefer to say there isn’t one, honestly, because of the way the conundrum is set up: as a non-conundrum. Because, obviously America should have entered WWII; if ever there was a war that was worth fighting, this would be it. Hence there’s no need to really interrogate whether or not Edith’s death was right. There’s no way it was not right. There’s no complication there, allowing the story to focus on the tragedy of Kirk’s inevitable decision instead. It could have been a different story, about weighing the pros and cons. And then possibly also a story with a moral lesson attached to the decision Kirk makes: about the many versus the few, for example, or about war specifically, since obviously this is airing with Vietnam as a background.

It could also have been a story about fate. Obviously, McCoy can and does change time. But you have all 3 of them ending up at the same place/time, right near this Big Event. You have the almost-fall on the stairs, implying death is out for Edith. You have the total set of circumstances around her death: as it actually plays out, she’s only there BECAUSE of Kirk and Spock. Were they always there? Does she get killed in a slightly different circumstance in timelines without them? The way the story plays out, all of these details seem so beside the point--again, the story uses time travel but isn’t really ABOUT time travel; it uses sci fi tools but is not telling a sci fi story--so it’s not even really worth interrogating.

(Other than just now, when I did.)

I think it’s pretty obvious that a lot of people had their hands in this story: Kirk’s very IC romantic nature is first and foremost and I like seeing this part of him, but the Command part is kind of hidden; there are moments of tragedy, in the traditional sense of the word, but also other parts that feel like Tomorrow Is Yesterday in terms of the style of comedy; the sci fi stuff is really random.

None of this is really criticism, just thoughts. It’s definitely a really interesting episode.

Next is the FINAL EPISODE of S1, which is RIDICULOUS imo. I’m fairly sure Operation Annihilate was one of the first TOS episodes I saw. I have a real soft spot for it so I’m looking forward to watching.

So here's my Mini review. Overall I liked the episode, sure the big conflicts could have been avoided if people actually talked with each other about their feelings first before the disasters, but that happens so often in TV shows I'm almost used to it. I loved seeing the villain force again (especially Chatana). Hopefully we will see them again soon. I wonder what job Naomi will get now, (Maybe being the minister of ships)?

I can’t believe Denki just CASUALLY MURDERED Bakugou.

And Bakugou didn’t even respond to it. presumably because he knows its true and doesn’t care. “yeah lol i guess i’m severely unlikable huh”

Seriously i’m glad Bakugou has people around him who will sass him like this and he doesn’t seem to mind it? This is good for him.

ANYway it is genuinely nice that Bakugou figured out how to use his powers without using bystanders. Like he put serious effort into making his attack WEAKER so he WON’T accidentally kill someone that is actually a huge step, I mean WOW,  he would have to spend a lot of time practicing this. He apparently actually listened to Todoroki’s scolding which is shocking. 

also nice is the fact he now knows and trusts Denki enough that, when he realizes he’s losing, he gives Denki the tool to rescue them. 

i mean stop and think about that. Bakugou realized he was losing so he passed the baton to his teammate so he could be rescued, he not only acknowledged he couldn’t handle this alone and can in fact, COULD lose this,  so he relied on someone else to help him out. I GUESS HE REALLY DID LEARN SOMETHING FROM ALL THIS KIDNAPPING DRAMA

And Denki carries it all out, I’m proud of him.

i think the “angrily” there is redundant Denki every time Bakugou speaks it’s angrily.

Denki’s speech is really sweet but I love that it boils down to “yes Bakugou is mean but he’s also surprisingly smart and making progress on not blowing everyone up all the time” and “Meanwhile Kirishima is SO dumb but he’s SO nice, I love him”. I mean, again. a tru friend.

Bakugou and Kirishima got to punch someone in the face at the same time, the essential stepping stone in any romance.

Denki wasn’t content on telling Bakugou nobody likes him ONCE he had to do it TWICE im dying.

Martin really is helping him with his temper huh I don't know if I ever said it before, but I really love the new Barbara?? Probably my favourite version of the character yet. Calm, calculating, but still emotional and crazy. Love her Martin looks so fucking scared :(( Protect him please MORE SCENES FOR FOXY PLEASE Selina is literally the youngest in the room but she's the only one that notices they're about to die. Really makes you think And Sofia keeps playing Jim and Oswald against each other! She knows she'll probably die if she doesn't do something fast, so she pushes her plan along and asks Jim to finally take Oswald down. Even though this is about her victory, she makes it look like it's what Jim wants too (which it kind of is?) I'm almost amazed at how Jim is finally thinking with his brain instead of his dick or ego. Almost because that should be the logical thing to do I can't watch Martin cry :( He feels so terrible for Sofia using him, which isn't even his fault, and he apologises and cries and I just want to protect him forever :( I get why Oswald is pissed but you can't just threaten a kid with basically kicking him out of the family But still, I love that even when Oswald is pissed at Martin he is patient enough to let him finish writing his answer without interrupting. that's better parenting than most parents do when they're pissed at their kids AND even though Oswald calls Martin a "little spy" he still cares enough to keep him away from the actual violence. Oswald?? More like Dadwald. Sassy Oswald is still the best. Lol as if he needed to be there to have someone killed The way Jim's and Sofia's scene was cut off it seemed like he considers her plan and will probably follow it but??? I'm pleasantly surprised?? I love how done Oswald is with Jim when Zsasz leaves I mean same This!!! Is the only kind of Gobblepot I am happy to accept. They're still enemies and they threaten each other etc but they have a common enemy and they work together to defeat them. It probably won't happen, but I really hope this will lead to Ed reflecting on what really broke him and Oswald apart. This may be the first time in all four seasons someone tells Ed they like him the way he is now. Kristen wanted him to be more “manly” first and less murdery later. Oswald wanted him to be who he was with the added factor of being in love with him (which he was, come on) and maybe more murdery. Lee is the first person that likes Ed the way he is without wanting to change him in any way and even says so. This is what true friendship looks like guys. SHE CALLS HIM HER FRIEND AND HE LOOKS LIKE HE'S ABOUT TO CRY How long has it been since Ed had any friends?? A whole season for sure, right? Before Oswald, there was no one at all who was an actual friend for him. And now Lee comes along, supports him and lets him do what he does best and their friendship is so pure I want to cry. The "you didn't get told no a lot as a kid" thing from Barbara kinda fucks me up a bit tbh. Firstly, because Sofia probably got told no too much, since approval is literally the reason she does all this. Ed is less obsessive, has found friends who can keep him from doing something rash like, I don't know, murdering his best and only friend and understood why Lee lied the same way Oswald did. Oswald learned to love even more selflessly than he did in 3x14 when he was already willing to sacrifice his life for Ed's by sending Martin away, thus proving Ed's theory about Oswald never being able to love that way wrong once and for all. - What really gets to me was all those ‘I’m fine’ smiles he always have for Alec whenever Alec show his concern: all shiny wide eyes, bright smiles.. but his voice was tinged with tears... ;__;

- When Alec called Magnus’s name multiple times.. just how gentle and soft was his voice

- Yes, i love that scene of Alec waking up on Magnus’s bed too BUT god fuckin’ dammit, this is about Magnus so it kinda pissed me off that people just keep on focusing on how hot Alec is and how it’s obvious he is the little spoon..etc - 

(which btw, he is NOT. If you noticed, he turned fully on his back THEN reached out next to him.. he didn’t reached out behind him only turning when he can’t find Magnus. So it means, he turned fully on his back and reached out to pulled Magnus closer/onto his chest or simply just for the comfort of touching his lover. Which means, he expects Magnus was sleeping but turning the other way or just on his back or on his side, facing Alec’s back.. They MIGHT spoon before/after that.. Alec might be the little spoon or it might be Magnus.. This is not a big deal but with all these infantilizing of Alec trend, I feel the need to smack down whatever minuscule ‘evidence’ these infuriating delicate-daisy-flower!bottom-only!alec stans fans keep insisting on. I wish they make Matt be more at ease when with Magnus. I like that Alec insisted that Magnus talked to him. 

What else... umm~ oh yes, 

i seriously do NOT want to be around the fandom when they stripped Alec off his position, deruned him and basically makes him gets the short end of sticks as usual while Jace and Clary gallivanting around happily, breaking rules left and right and still coming out as winners, reigniting their passionate love. 

Malec, The Lightwoods.. heck, the entire Downworlders has some serious problem now and ahead.. but ofc we gonna see more on Clace and their ‘we wanna fuck each other but lets be coy and flirty to show our tragic attraction to each other while making other people pay for our selfish actions coz hey, we’re the main MAIN characters so it’s our goddamn rights’ drama.

Just to celebrate chapter 1000 (and kind of keep an archive for myself) I figured I’d answer these questions haha

How did you get into Detective Conan, and what was your first case? I remember I first saw Detective Conan when my twin brothers were watching it out in our living room (I think around 2010/2011?). It was A Haunted Mansion Murder Case that they were watching at the time, and at first I wasn’t too interested but eventually I just sat down and watched it with them. I then fell in love with the series and binge watched the entire thing... now my brothers aren’t into the series but only I am pretty much haha.

How far along are you in the manga/anime/movies? Caught up with manga, on episode 857 of the anime and have seen everything except Movie 21.

What is your favourite DC trope? (A recurring quote, action, joke etc.) Honestly Conan saying “Ba~ro!” makes the entire situation 10000000% better

Who is your favourite male character (+ a scene he appears in)? AHHH such a hard decision... I guess I really would say Conan/Shinichi. I mean just his personality and character development appeal to me, so yeah... As for a scene he appears in, I absolutely love the scene after the Shiragami arc where he has to cut and pin back up his sweater bc he couldn’t stop holding hands with Ran after he changed back into Conan... <3

Who is your favourite female character (+ a scene she appears in)? ALSO HARD DECISION BUT IT STILL WOULD HAVE TO BE RAN. My queen. The light of my life. Out of all the scenes I love of her kicking butt a scene I really like of her is when she saves Haibara from Vermouth’s gunshot after the Halloween Party Case... any scene with her caring for Haibara honestly... I need that in my life

Which character would you most want as a sidekick? Haibara definitely. I need her sass and smarts

What is your most memorable Black Organization moment? Probably the scene of Gin shooting Haibara after she tuned into Shiho on the snowy rooftop during the Reunion with the Black Organization case. That scene gives me chills...!!

What is your favourite/most memorable case? AH AGAIN SO HARD TO CHOOSE FAVORITES... most memorable for me would be.. Moonlight Sonata Murder Case... Mountain Villa Bandaged Man Murder Case is also up there!

Have you memorised any DC quotes by heart? What is your favourite/most memorable quote? “There is always only one truth!” of course... also “Zero is where everything starts! Nothing would ever be born if we didn't depart from there... and nothing would ever be achieved!” and “Is a reason necessary? I don't know why you would kill someone, but as for saving someone... a logical mind isn't needed, right?” ...I must love Shinichi’s quotes lol. I really love Ran’s quote “Courage is a word of justice!” too... I like too many quotes from this series...

Which character do you least and/or most identify with? I most identify with... Haibara I suppose. As much as I love Ran I don’t really identify with her haha.

What are some interesting facts/trivia you’ve learned from the series? Don’t know about trivia... but I’ve definitely heard about a lot of traditional Japanese stories through DC!

If you were to take the place of any one character, who would it be and why? I would take the place of Agasa I think. Knowing everything but just helping out wherever I can (usually just driving places lol) but not being directly involved in combat most of the time haha... I’m too lazy to fight

If you were to form your own Detective Boys squad, who are 5 characters you’d choose to join the team? Oooh! Hmm... Haibara, Ran, Kazuha, Sera, Sonoko... all the queens in one place

Which cases and/or trick(s) did you find to be most impressive? Maybe... the Old Blue Castle Investigation Case? I love mansions with secret passages lol

If you could revive any one of the deceased characters, who would it be? I think a lot of people in the fandom would say Akemi... and I would too BRING HER BACK :’(

Favourite OP and ED from the anime? Favorite opening... #3, Nazo....!! I always sang along and didn’t skip the opening when it was Nazo lol. Favorite ending would be #30, Summer Memories... oh my goodness I loved that ending it made me emotional lol

What’s your top pick for the most terrifying moment in the series? Probably when Conan was supposedly stabbed when he protected Ran during the Naniwa Serial Murder Case...

What’s your top pick for the most heartbreaking moment in the series? When Haibara was clinging onto Conan crying asking why he hadn’t deduced earlier where her sister was so he could have saved her... I cry every time...

Name a trick/case you solved before Conan did! Ohh I don’t know if there are any of those... lol I’m “smart” from a grading standpoint but I never really try to work out cases before Conan. Sometimes I have an idea of who it is but I never find out until the end, so...

Have you ever sympathised with a murderer’s motive? If so, which one? ...Not really no. I would never kill someone, no matter how much I “hate” them so I don’t really understand that whole mentality.

Put yourself in the victim’s shoes. Name a case that you would least want to be the victim of. Definitely Mountain Villa Bandaged Man Murder Case... I wouldn’t want to be cut into several pieces then stuffed in someone’s fatsuit, heck no!!

Besides Detective Conan, what’s another detective story/series you’d recommend? For some reason I haven’t really delved deeply into other detective stories... but my mother really enjoys The Mentalist so I’d recommend it

What other anime/series would make for your dream crossover with the DC universe? I’m not good with creating crossovers... idk how it would work but maybe Kekkai Sensen or Death Note?? I know a lot of people like the Ace Attorney/DC crossover
