Shade was most definitely not prepared when he first found out that Lumintale Sans was more so female...or at least as female as possible with how she's made of light and therefore doesn't really have a gender. Lulu recharges her energy best in sunlight...being made from the light of stars, more specifically the sun. And what better place to get a lot of energy from sunlight than the beach? Shade was extremely shocked to not see Lulu in their big baggy coat and everything that hid their slender frame very well. He sort of went into an internal panic attack as he tried to keep his emotions in check due to the reason why he doesn't show them much in the first place which isn't a pleasant thing...for he has a demon-ghost like side that could hurt Lulu if he lost control.

For Lulu's part...since the beings of Lumintale are made up of light...they don't actually have genders...they'll use certain pronouns sure but in truth they just don't have a real need for gender roles...the pronouns are more so for other aus sakes than their own. And Lulu doesn't bother with mentioning or doing anything with something that has no interest to her...so she just...never told the brooding skeleton.

I am obsessed with soulmate characters. There is no (light) without (dark) there is no (sun) without (rain) there is no (day) without (night) there is no (joy) without (anger) there is no (red) without (green) there is no (love) without (hate) there is no (defense) without (offense) there is no (tide) without (moon) and these characters can be love interests, best friends, enemies, rivals, I DON'T CARE, but they understand each other like no one else does and where one goes the other follows

And this isn't about just grumpy x sunshine this is about one existing without the other. Characters where if you take one away a part of them gets taken with the other, characters whose lives are significantly altered by the absence of the other, characters who literally already do find each other in different universes.
