✦ POWER AND CONTROL ✦
PAIRING — shadow the hedgehog x fem!reader
WARNINGS — MDNI 🔞
PROMPT — you tease him, ride him, and think you’ve won… until he flips you over and shows you who’s really in charge
WORD COUNT — ~3.5k
ART CREDIT — @ cutefish_16y on Instagram
AUTHOR’S NOTE — this was supposed to be a “little teasing moment” and instead it turned into couch-breaking smut + battle for control energy. I imagine mobian or human reader works, as long as she knows how to drive him wild.
🖤🔥 “You act like you’re in charge.”
“You just think you are.”
and that’s how the skirt came off.

You were in one of G.U.N’s remote safehouses, tucked away after a mission that left your adrenaline still humming. The lights were low, casting golden shadows on the walls as you perched on the arm of the couch, legs crossed in your short skirt, a half-read mission report resting in your lap. You hadn't even changed yet—your skirt clung to your thighs, scuffed boots still laced, and your shirt slightly untucked from the chaos earlier.
You flipped a page absentmindedly—until you heard the door creak open.
Shadow stepped in, his silhouette cutting sharply through the dim light. His chest was still rising and falling from the fight, a few strands of fur singed, gloves torn, and eyes glowing faintly beneath his furrowed brow. He looked like a storm held barely in check.
You glanced up, a smirk tugging at your lips.
“Didn’t take you for the dramatic type,” you teased, eyes skimming his form. “You just had to flip over the explosion like that?”
He smirked back, walking slowly toward you.
“Admit it. You liked it.”
You rolled your eyes. “Maybe a little.”
He stopped just in front of you, close enough that you had to tilt your head back to meet his eyes.
“You’re always watching,” he said, voice low, velvet-wrapped danger. “I can feel it. Every time I’m near you… your heartbeat changes.”
Your cheeks flushed, but you didn’t back down. “That’s because you insist on standing in my space.”
Shadow leaned in, his breath ghosting over your ear.
“Funny. You never move away.”
You didn’t. You couldn’t. His presence was like gravity—pulling you in, heavy and hot. And he knew it.
His gloved fingers brushed your jaw, tilting your chin up gently.
“You’re not afraid of me.”
You met his gaze, steady. “Should I be?”
He chuckled low, rich and intimate.
“Maybe. But I think you like the danger.”
Then he kissed you—slow at first, a test. But the second your lips met his, restraint slipped. His hand tangled into your hair while the other wrapped tightly around your waist, dragging you into him with a need that had clearly been building for far too long.
You broke the kiss, breathless.
“I could get used to this side of you.”
Shadow grinned—real, unguarded, and somehow even more dangerous.
“Good. Because it only comes out for you.”
Still holding you close, his breath warm against your lips, his usual icy control was clearly slipping. You felt it in the tension of his grip, in the hunger darkening his crimson eyes.
You let your fingers trail up his chest, slow and teasing, stopping just under his jaw.
“You act like you’re in charge,” you whispered.
His brow arched. “And I’m not?”
You leaned in, lips brushing his—but not kissing him yet. Close enough to tempt. To test.
“No,” you purred. “You just think you are.”
His eyes darkened, but he didn’t move. He let the heat grow, let the tension simmer, let you think you had the upper hand. That was the thing with Shadow—he didn’t rush. He stalked. He waited. Until he was ready.
You grazed your lips along his jaw, up toward his ear, voice barely a whisper.
“You like it when I push back… don’t deny it.”
In one swift move, his hand caught your wrist, firm but controlled. His face was mere inches from yours, his voice molten steel.
“Careful.”
You smirked. “What? Gonna punish me?”
He didn’t respond. Instead, his lips crashed against yours again, harder now, needier. His restraint dissolved as he pulled you down onto the couch beneath him, your back against the cushions, your legs still hooked around his waist.
His kiss stole the breath from your lungs, and when you gasped, his tongue found yours in a slow, claiming dance. His hand slid down your thigh, fingers grazing the edge of your skirt as he pressed himself closer, your bodies flushed and burning.
You broke the kiss with a soft gasp, your voice breathy.
“Still think you’re in charge?”
His grin was wicked.
“No. I think we both are. That’s what makes this fun.”
You grinned back, lacing your fingers behind his neck as you drew him even closer, wrapping your legs around his hips, grinding slightly just to feel the way he tensed.
“Why not take turns?” you whispered in his ear.
Shadow’s breath caught.
Then, slow and deliberate, he lifted your legs, one hand sliding beneath your skirt to grip your thigh. His other hand hooked around the edge of your panties, dragging them down with excruciating patience, his eyes locked on yours the whole time.
When the soft fabric hit the floor, flung somewhere into the dark, his lips found yours again—slower now, more deliberate. His gloved fingers teased lower, between your thighs, finding the warmth he was craving.
Shadow’s words sent a shiver through you—“You’re so wet”—and you could barely respond, your breath catching as his fingers teased you with slow, confident strokes.
Shadow was watching your every reaction, his eyes half-lidded, glowing with hunger and control.
You shifted slightly under him, your thighs still wrapped around his waist, and that’s when you felt it—him, hard and ready against you.
You let out a low, teasing laugh, your hand slipping between your bodies to cup him.
“And you’re happy to see me.”
He groaned, hips jerking slightly into your touch. Your hand wrapped around him and began to stroke—slow, steady, and purposeful.
He let out a deep, guttural moan that sent heat straight to your core.
“You might be more dangerous than I am,” he growled against your neck, voice rough and reverent. Then, smirking against your skin—
“I love it.”
His lips found your throat, kissing, nipping, and tasting every inch of your skin as he slid the head of his length against your entrance, pausing—just long enough to feel your breath hitch.
Then, slowly, deliberately, he pushed into you, inch by inch.
You gasped, your back arching, nails pressing into his shoulders.
“Shadow…”
He groaned your name like it was something sacred, his hips moving with careful control as he filled you completely, the warmth, the stretch, the sensation of him overwhelming and perfect.
Your bodies moved together in perfect sync, each thrust deepening the fire that was already consuming you both.
Shadow’s breath was ragged now, his grip tight on your waist as he buried himself inside you again and again, each movement laced with unspoken desire and raw intensity.
But then, with a glint of mischief in your eye, you placed your hands on his chest and gave him a light push.
He blinked up at you, momentarily stunned as you eased him back against the couch cushions, your hips lifting just enough to make him slip out.
“My turn,” you said, voice low and dripping with seduction.
Shadow let out a quiet curse under his breath, his eyes locked onto you as you straddled him, taking control with a slow, fluid motion. You gripped his chest, your skirt bunched up at your hips, your bare thighs framing him perfectly.
You hovered just above him, teasing, letting the head of his cock brush your entrance before you began to lower yourself—agonizingly slow.
Your eyes stayed locked on his face, watching the way it contorted in pleasure, the way his lips parted with a quiet, broken sound he didn’t try to hide.
Finally, he was all the way inside you again, and you rolled your hips forward, grounding yourself against him, feeling every inch, every pulse.
You leaned forward, your hands sliding up his chest until your fingers tangled into the thick fur there. You gave it a playful tug, smirking down at him as you began to grind your hips in slow, deliberate circles.
He groaned—deep and raw—his hands flying to your hips to steady you, but not stop you.
“You’re going to drive me insane,” he breathed.
You leaned in, lips brushing his jaw.
“Good. You can lose your mind with me.”
You rolled your hips in slow, delicious circles, grinding against him with purpose, loving the way his breath caught, the way his grip on your waist faltered ever so slightly with each motion. You leaned forward again, lips grazing his, whispering just above them:
“Still think you’re in control?”
That did it.
With a low growl, Shadow’s hands suddenly gripped your thighs. Before you could tease him again, he moved—swift and commanding.
He flipped you over effortlessly, pressing your chest down against the couch cushions, your skirt hiked up, panties long forgotten. His hand gripped your hip firmly as he lifted your ass high into the air, lining himself up behind you.
“Let me show you how much I can lose it,” he snarled.
And with one powerful thrust, he buried himself inside you again, deeper than before. You cried out, arching as he set a punishing pace—each thrust driving into your most sensitive spot with near-perfect precision.
Your fingers dug into the cushions, your body trembling from the intensity. Every movement sent waves of heat crashing through you, your moans spilling freely into the room. Shadow's grip on your hips tightened, his claws just grazing your skin as he growled with each thrust, fully lost in the rhythm of your body, in you.
“So tight,” he rasped, voice thick with need. “So perfect…”
Your eyes fluttered shut, your mouth falling open as pleasure surged through you.
“Shadow—ah—Shadow!”
You could feel yourself spiraling, your climax building fast and hot and uncontrollable. Your walls clenched around him, your whole body tensing as the orgasm overtook you, crashing over you like a tidal wave.
You screamed his name, voice breaking from the intensity.
That was all it took.
With a final deep thrust, Shadow groaned loudly, his hips jerking as he spilled into you, the sensation overwhelming. His body trembled slightly as he held you there, his breath ragged against your back, his grip still tight—like he wasn’t ready to let you go.
-
The air was thick with heat, both your bodies still tangled and trembling from the intensity of what had just happened. Shadow stayed there for a moment, his chest rising and falling against your back, breath warm against your skin. You could feel his heartbeat still racing through him.
Then, slowly, he pulled back and flopped beside you on the couch, one arm draped across his forehead, the other still loosely wrapped around your waist.
You turned to face him, completely wrecked and grinning.
“So,” you said, breathless, brushing some hair from your face. “That’s you ‘losing it,’ huh?”
Shadow glanced over, lips twitching into a half-smirk.
“You provoked it.”
You nudged his side. “You liked it.”
He let out a soft scoff, closing his eyes. “I tolerated it.”
You laughed. “Right. Is that why you were moaning my name like you forgot how to speak?”
His eyes opened slowly, glowing with that familiar, dangerous gleam. He turned toward you, raising an eyebrow.
“And is that why you were screaming mine like the world was ending?”
You bit your bottom lip, heat rising to your cheeks—but you didn’t back down.
“I was doing you a favor. Boosting your ego.”
Shadow rolled on top of you again, pinning your wrists gently but firmly above your head, his grin now fully formed, dark and amused.
“You think this ego needs help?” he whispered, nose brushing yours.
You arched a brow, pretending to consider it.
“Maybe just a little.”
He kissed you hard—quick and possessive—before pulling back just enough to murmur:
“Careful. I’ve still got energy to prove you wrong.”
You gasped dramatically. “What happened to recovery time?”
Shadow smirked.
“I recover fast.”
Your legs curled around his waist again, playful, daring.
“Then I guess we’re not done yet.”
He growled in delight.
“Not even close.”

Tight Spaces & Tighter Confessions
Shadow the Hedgehog x reader
⚠️: tight space
Prompt: “This might be a bad time to mention it, but I really like your cologne.”
You had no idea how this had happened.
One second, you were walking through the old base with Shadow, casually exchanging dry sarcasm and mission updates. The next, the ancient, rusted floor gave out beneath your feet — and you fell straight into what felt like a maintenance shaft the size of a coffin.
And of course, because fate had a twisted sense of humor, Shadow had jumped in after you to save you. Noble. Heroic. And ultimately very, very inconvenient.
Now the two of you were jammed together, shoulder to shoulder — well, more like chest to chest and hip to hip — in the cramped vertical shaft. You were practically in Shadow’s lap, your legs tangled with his as you tried not to crush each other.
And the silence? Deafening.
“…Sooo,” you started, your voice sounding much too loud in the metal tomb surrounding you, “this is definitely not OSHA approved.”
Shadow didn’t answer. He merely exhaled through his nose, jaw clenched and crimson eyes focused somewhere above your head. Whether it was irritation, embarrassment, or quiet plotting to Chaos Blast his way out of this, you couldn’t tell.
You shifted a little, trying to find a less awkward position, and your knee accidentally grazed his thigh.
Shadow flinched. “Stop moving.”
“Right, sorry. Just—uh—trying not to die of cramp-related injuries.”
Another beat of silence. The space was so tight you could feel every rise and fall of his chest. The way his quills occasionally brushed against the wall — and sometimes your cheek — as he tried to angle his head. You could smell the faint, clean scent clinging to him. Like smoke and pine and—
Oh no.
You mentally cursed yourself for noticing. You were already in an impossibly close situation, and now your brain wanted to register how good he smelled?
“This might be a bad time to mention it,” you muttered, cheeks heating up, “but I really like your cologne.”
You didn’t even mean to say it. It just slipped out. Probably a side effect of the claustrophobia. Or the proximity. Or sheer panic.
Shadow blinked.
Then turned those intense red eyes directly on you.
Your stomach dropped. “Forget I said anything. Just—y’know. Ha. Trapped in a tiny box together, normal things to notice, right? No big deal. You smell like…soap and menace. That’s a compliment. Really.”
He didn’t respond for a moment. His expression was unreadable, but you swore something flickered in his eyes — not annoyance. Not amusement. Something else.
“You’re flustered,” he said simply.
You huffed, trying to lean back — and promptly hit the wall behind you, forehead-first. “Yeah, well, I don’t usually end up sitting in a guy’s lap while plummeting into a vent shaft. New experience for me.”
“You landed on top of me.”
“You jumped after me.”
“Because you’re reckless,” he snapped, his tone sharp but not unkind. “You don’t scan areas before entering. You walk too close to unstable floors. You trust too easily.”
“Wow, okay, great time for a personality critique, Shads.”
He didn’t deny the nickname this time. That was…new.
You risked looking up at him. His face was so close you could count the individual strands of red in his quills. “You know, for someone who’s allergic to people, you sure didn’t hesitate to follow me down here.”
“I didn’t want you getting hurt.”
There it was — simple, honest. No grand speech. No posturing.
You stared at him, the air suddenly heavier than before. Maybe it was the space, the pressure, or the fact that his voice had gone low and quiet in a way that made your heart stutter.
“Shadow…”
His eyes flicked to yours. “What?”
You hesitated. Then: “I really wasn’t kidding about the cologne. You smell like…campfire and rain and…I don’t know. The woods after a thunderstorm.”
His lips twitched. Just barely.
“That’s very specific.”
“Well, you’re very specific,” you said, narrowing your eyes. “Mysterious ultimate lifeform with a tragic backstory and an unexpectedly good taste in fragrance.”
That earned a soft exhale — not quite a laugh, but close enough that you felt like you’d won something.
“I don’t use cologne.”
You blinked. “Wait, seriously?”
He nodded, and your brain short-circuited a little. That meant he just naturally smelled like that?
You tried not to let your brain spiral again. Too late.
“Well, that’s just unfair,” you mumbled.
Shadow tilted his head slightly. “Unfair?”
“I’m trying to survive being crushed to death in a glorified closet, and I’m doing it while practically sitting in the lap of the most frustratingly attractive hedgehog in existence, who just so happens to smell like a forest deity. It’s distracting.”
He blinked. “You think I’m attractive?”
Your face went nuclear. “I—I mean, objectively. You’ve got the whole brooding antihero thing going on, and the voice, and the eyes, and the—look, can we just not do this in a four-foot shaft of death?”
He was quiet again. Then: “I think you’re attractive too.”
You stared.
“What.”
Shadow’s expression didn’t change. “I’ve thought that for a while.”
Your heart skipped about three beats. “Is this—are you hitting on me in a vent shaft?”
“I don’t ‘hit on’ people.”
“That’s debatable.”
“I’m simply stating the truth.”
You didn’t know where to look anymore. His face was too close, the space too small, your brain too fried. But somewhere beneath the panic was a slow, simmering heat — and not just from the cramped conditions.
“Well,” you said weakly, “this is the worst possible time and place for mutual attraction, so…perfect.”
Shadow didn’t seem nearly as perturbed. In fact, he looked almost…calm. Maybe even pleased. “There are worse ways to be stuck.”
“Name one.”
“Alone.”
Okay, that was smooth. And deeply unfair.
Before you could reply, there was a loud creaking above, and then a flash of blue and gold light — and the unmistakable sound of metal being torn open.
“Sonic to the rescue!” came a cheerful, muffled voice from above. “Man, you two really know how to find the weirdest places to hang out.”
You groaned, pressing a hand to your face. “Of course he found us.”
Shadow’s voice was dry. “Remind me to destroy that camera drone later.”
As the opening above widened, light poured into the shaft — revealing your position in excruciating detail. You, tangled on top of Shadow. Shadow, sitting like some unbothered dark prince, arms still casually resting around you like you belonged there.
Sonic peeked down and immediately burst out laughing. “Oh man. Oh man. Wait till Rouge hears about this.”
“Leave,” Shadow said flatly.
“Sure thing, lover boy.”
With some effort (and a lot of awkward maneuvering), Sonic helped pull you both out. You stumbled out of the shaft, brushing dust off your clothes and refusing to look at anyone for a full minute.
Shadow emerged behind you, completely composed, like he hadn’t just confessed in a metal coffin.
You turned to him, still flustered but slightly braver now. “So…once we’re not being publicly humiliated, maybe you could show me what else you smell like.”
His brow lifted, ever so slightly. “That’s a bold request.”
You grinned. “Bold is kind of my thing.”
He leaned in, just enough for you to hear him over your own heartbeat. “Then I look forward to it.”
And just like that, the mortifying ordeal of being trapped with your crush became the beginning of something far more interesting.

I think if you were to have sex with Shadow while in his wherehog form it would definitely be a near death experience. With his animal instincts heightened he would definitely be extremely aggressive and definitely rough with you. He just can’t help it he needs to claim you, he needs his scent on you so that everybody knows you’re his.
Not to mention the fact that he’s physically much larger than normal it’s fair to assume that all of him got bigger too.
That being said a funny situation comes to mind…
(The day after you and Wherehog Shadow have sex Shadow (normal again) is pushing you in a wheelchair when you run into some friends)
Amy: OH MY GOODNESS YOU’RE IN A WHEELCHAIR! WHAT HAPPENED?
You: oh uh… I slipped?
Rouge (not buying it looks over at Shadow who has very suddenly become interested in the trees) : What did you do?
Shadow: Nothing of your concern.
A tense moment of silence passed between the two you finally decided to end it with the truth.
You: I got the dick down of the century last night.
Amy just walks away in disbelief as Rouge goes to high five you.

😆 Okay, here's a fun idea in mind:
Imagine hedgehog dads' trying to help the kids with their homework (particularly math), and they happened to be just as stumped as they are. And it results in utter chaos.
Inspired by the 6 × 3 video from the classic HARDSTOP LUCAS (if you know him). 😎 🫡
Hope this idea works! If you don't wanna do it, that's fine too. Just a funny idea that I NEEDED to get out there, lol! Have fun! And thank youuu! ❤
Daddy Homework

Sonic
It was late afternoon, the final rays of sunlight streaming through the kitchen windows. The blue hedgehog was leaning casually against the counter, taking a sip of his soda. His ears twitched toward the front door as he heard it creak, signaling someone’s arrival.
Almost immediately, the door creaked again as it closed, followed by small footsteps entering the house.
Slightly turning his head, his green eyes scanned the kitchen entrance, seeing the little blue hedgehog walk in slowly, looking tired, with her backpack on her shoulders. She slipped the straps off, tossed it beside a chair, and, with some effort, managed to sit on the chair—which was taller than her.
“So, kiddo? How was school?” Sonic asked, walking to her side and pulling out a chair.
“Tiring... It’s so boring having to sit in a chair all day...” She crossed her arms.
“I know how it is... But just relax, it’ll be over soon.” He gave her a light pat on the back.
“Dad, can you help me with my homework?” she asked quietly.
“Sure thing. Just show it to your old man—shouldn’t be anything too tricky.” He laughed, leaning an elbow on the table and setting aside his soda as she reached for her bag, pulling out her pencil case and notebook.
She carefully opened the notebook, flipping through the pages until she found the lesson, then handed it to her dad, who smiled and scanned the page.
“All right, let’s see...” Sonic began to read. “An isosceles triangle is a type of triangle that has two equal sides and—hold on, what? Congruent? Equal angles? Formed with the base?” He furrowed his brow, tilting the notebook as if that would help him understand, his confident grin fading as he read. “Huh... where’s the good old math?”
He looked at his daughter and raised an eyebrow.
“What’s up, Dad? You’re an adult, right? You should know this stuff.” She crossed her arms at him.
“I’m an adult with tons of knowledge and experience in many fields, just not triangle puzzles. By Gaia, I don’t even know what that is. I thought math was just adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying!” He crossed his arms back at her.
“But that is math, Dad—it’s trigonometry!”
“To me, that just sounds like a snowboard trick. My thing’s speed. I wasn’t made for tough stuff like this. If it were a simple addition or subtraction problem, I’d handle it no problem.” He handed the notebook back to her.
“Can’t you at least try? This assignment is going to count for a grade!” she sighed in exasperation.
Sonic paused for a few seconds, looking at his daughter intently before taking a deep breath.
“All right...” He ran a hand through his quills, frowning. “What do I know about triangles...” He tapped his finger against his temple, closing his eyes tightly, thinking, impatiently tapping his foot on the floor.
Suddenly, he snapped his fingers, opened his eyes, and dashed off, leaving his daughter confused and staring at the spot he’d just been.
She opened her mouth to say something, but before she could, Sonic reappeared in front of her, holding a small decorative pyramid ornament made of metal.
“How’s this?” He flashed a sly grin.
“And how are you planning to solve my homework with that, Dad?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Just use a ruler and add the sides, right?” He tossed the little pyramid into the air and skillfully caught it.
“Of course not!” She took a step forward, pointing at the notebook.
“Sweetheart, solving puzzles is way outside my dad skills...” He flashed her a grin.
“They’re asking for angles, Dad… A-N-G…”
“Okay, no need to spell it out, I get it...” He puckered his lips at her, gripping the pyramid in his hand and setting it on the table, pulling out a chair as she sat across from him.
“I got something that might help...” She rummaged in her backpack and pulled out a round ruler marked with angles.
“Now that helps...” He took the ruler and placed it next to the pyramid, squinting as he inspected the measurements.
“So?” asked the little hedgehog innocently.
“Ninety degrees?” He raised a confused eyebrow, studying the ruler more closely. “Write that down—ninety degrees. And if your teacher gives you trouble, just say your dad helped.” Sonic sighed, handing the ruler back and folding his arms.
“You’re giving up?! We didn’t even really start!” she exclaimed, slapping her hand on the table.
Just then, you entered the kitchen, drawn by the commotion.
“What are you two up to?” you asked, standing at the table and observing the small pyramid now in place.
“Dad was trying to help me with homework… and totally failing,” Sonic pouted at you, then turned to you.
“I wasn’t totally failing—I can’t fail at something I haven’t really tried yet!” He folded his arms again.
“Let me take a look at the assignment...” You picked up the notebook and scanned it, your eyes widening. “Your age and this? Are you really supposed to be learning this already?” you questioned your daughter, who nodded.
“Look,” you said, leaning close. “We start with the law of sines…” You showed her precisely how to complete the exercise.
Sonic’s mouth dropped open as he watched you teach your daughter. Then a small smile spread across his muzzle as admiration glowed in his eyes.
“...Exactly right. Now, to finish, you’ll find the result—2√3, perfect!” You smiled at your daughter, praising her. She looked thrilled.
Then you looked at Sonic, and the intense way he was staring at you made your cheeks flush hot.
“W-what?” you asked, looking away.
He stood and came to your side, wrapping his arm around your waist.
“That was amazing.” He winked at you.
“Well... everyone’s got their areas of expertise, right?” You scratched your neck.
“My area of expertise says I’ve just fallen even more in love with you...” He offered you a knowing side smile. “I’m so lucky to have someone so smart in my life...” His voice dropped lower.
Just then, your daughter broke the spell.
“If you two are gonna kiss, wait until I’m gone—I don’t wanna see any of that.” She said firmly, her ears drooping as she packed up her things.
“Oh, my bad, kiddo...” Sonic chuckled and gave you a quick kiss on your forehead. “We’ll continue later...” He released you, grabbed his soda, then crouched beside your daughter to ruffle her quills playfully.
“Wanna go for a run? Not that you’ll beat me, but it’ll be fun.” The little one gave a mischievous smile and nodded, and in an instant, the two of them were gone, leaving only a blue blur behind, their clothes fluttering in the rush of speed.
You sighed and closed your eyes, shaking your head. It was amazing how he still made you blush, even after all this time together—and it was one of the things you loved most about him.

Shadow
It was early on a weekend morning; a gentle breeze rustled his black quills as he focused on the task he had chosen for the day: cleaning his motorcycle.
Shadow carefully wiped the metal parts, his red eyes scanning for any specks of dirt on the vehicle.
He heard small footsteps approaching across the yard and didn’t even have to look to know it was his daughter—he knew the sound of her walk too well.
“Dad?” she called softly.
“Hm?” he responded, placing the cloth on the handlebar and turning to her.
She came closer and handed him her open notebook.
“Can you help me with my homework?” she asked as he took the notebook into his hands.
“Sure... Come, let’s sit over here.” He guided her to sit at a small wooden table nearby, placing the notebook down and beginning to look over the assignment.
“So? You know the answer, right? This assignment’s even messing with my sleep,” she said worriedly, fidgeting with her fingers on the table.
“The powers (-2)^4 and -2^4… are they the same or different...?” He read the question quietly, then brought a hand to his chin, narrowing his eyes. He took a few seconds to think before clicking his tongue.
“Dad? You don’t know the answer?” the little one asked.
“It’s not about not knowing... The real question is... what’s the point of this in your life?” He looked into her eyes.
“I won’t pass the school year if I don’t know it,” she raised an eyebrow at Shadow, who just closed his eyes and sighed.
“You don’t know how to do it, do you? I thought the Ultimate Lifeform would be able to solve something like this easily...” she crossed her arms at him.
“I was created for many reasons, but solving math questions was definitely not one of them...” he said, picking up a pencil and trying to scribble something in the notebook.
“Why are you answering it then?” she leaned over slightly, trying to see what he was writing, eyes widening when she saw him doing some absurd math.
“Dad, you’re adding both numbers? That’s not how it starts!”
“I’m trying...” he gritted his teeth, grabbing the eraser and rubbing out his scribbles.
“That’s just scribbles, Dad... not the answer,” she raised an eyebrow at him.
“Tell me how to start the question then...” He dropped the pencil on the notebook, crossing his arms, waiting for her to respond.
She scooted closer, pointing at the problem.
“Dad... this is raised to the fourth power... that means you do two times two four times... not two times four!”
Shadow looked at her with his mouth slightly open, processing her words for a few seconds, then raised an eyebrow.
“I don’t get it... if I do two times two four times...” He discreetly counted on his fingers. “It all comes out to four...” His red eyes looked at her in confusion. She just put a hand to her temple.
“No, first you do two times two... then you do two times four!”
“Whoever made this wasn’t very smart... There should be a better way to visualize it... How was I supposed to know this is how you do it?” He raised his hands in disbelief.
“By learning math?” she crossed her arms at him.
“Math never helped me protect the world...” He crossed his arms right back, grinding his teeth.
Watching the two of them at the little table outside, seemingly locked in a long debate, you raised an eyebrow and slowly walked outside, stopping beside Shadow and looking closely at what they were doing.
“Homework?” you asked, noticing how Shadow’s shoulders instantly tensed up at your approach.
“Yeah... but Dad’s not really helping much...” the little one said softly.
“Ah, sweetie, Shadow is terrible with anything school-related.” You giggled softly, watching your daughter’s surprised expression.
“What do you mean?” she asked, stunned.
“Your dad never turned in a single homework assignment in his life when he was living on the ARK.” You placed a hand on his shoulder, feeling him tense up even more.
“...I thought we agreed never to bring up that detail about my life again.” He muttered lowly, blushing slightly under his fur.
“Sorry, but she had to know, Shads...” you whispered.
“Whoa... I had no idea Dad was the Ultimate Slacker...” she said, amazed, staring at Shadow.
“Well... I can help,” you said, pointing at the notebook.
The little one began writing, while Shadow silently followed along with his eyes.
He raised an eyebrow as he watched the simple steps being completed.
“There you go, the answer’s 16 and -16, perfect.” You praised her, and she happily took her notebook and ran back inside.
Then, you turned your gaze back to Shadow, who sat with his arms crossed and eyes closed.
“Don’t be upset, Shads.” You smiled, walking up behind him and placing your hands on his shoulders. This time, he relaxed under your touch.
“It’s just a bit of math... nothing you’ve ever needed before in your life...” He nodded briefly.
“...Would you teach me?” he asked softly, making your face light up.
“Of course! I can give you private lessons anytime you want—it might be helpful to know the basics.” You hugged him from behind, resting your chin on top of his head.
He let out a quiet ‘hmph,’ though a small smile began to form on his muzzle as he enjoyed being close to you and the idea of spending more time together.
Tumblr media
Silver
The white hedgehog was humming softly, content, as he gently poured water from his watering can over the garden. His golden eyes sparkled with pride as he admired all the green and blooming plants.
After finishing, he set the watering can down, placing a hand on his hip to take in the view—until, from the corner of his eye, he spotted a little hedgehog standing at the door, watching him.
Silver turned his head slightly, now seeing his daughter clearly. He smiled warmly and floated over to her with his powers.
“Hey there, little one. What’s wrong?” He landed in front of her, noticing the worried look on her face.
“Dad, I need help with my homework...” she said, hugging her book. Silver’s eyes lit up.
“Great! I can help you—let me take a look.” He smiled, carefully taking the book as she showed him the homework page.
“Okay... Solve the complete quadratic equation using the quadratic formula... 2x² + 7x + 5 = 0...” He stared at the equation for a few seconds, scratching the back of his neck.
“Dad?” the little one asked.
“Uh...” He furrowed his brow at the page. “I’ve never seen anything like this in my life...” he admitted softly. “Bhaskara is... what, exactly?” he asked in a whisper.
“The guy who made this up... or something like that,” she shrugged.
“Hmmm...” He rubbed his chin, pouting in concentration. “But... doesn’t this equation already have an answer?”
“I think it wants the value of X, Dad, not the value after the equals sign...”
“Ah, right...” He shrank into himself a little, clearly intimidated by the equation. “In the future we don’t have anything like this... Math’s really different over there...” he murmured.
“That’s true... I guess I never thought about it...” the little one crossed her arms, thinking.
“But I can still help... let’s go.” He smiled, taking the pencil she handed him.
The hedgehog sat down on the ground at the doorstep, the little one doing the same, both examining how to begin.
“Alright... if I have two X’s... let’s say I have...” He looked around and smiled as he spotted two small stones, placing them in front of him. “If I have two stones with this little number here...”
“Dad, I don’t think that’s how you do it...” she raised an eyebrow at his method.
“Relax, sweetie... In the future, math works like this... I think.” He looked away. “Anyway... moving on, how about...” He tapped the pencil to his chin.
“How about we just start with the formula?”
“You mean that... Baskada thing?”
“Bhaskara.”
“Yeah, that one... Well, I wish I knew what that formula actually is...” He gave her a sheepish grin. “There’s gotta be another way to do it...”
“No, Dad... there’s not.” She shook her head. Silver pouted.
“Not even... if I try using my powers?... Even if it probably won’t help...” he laughed.
“It’s okay, Dad. Thanks for trying to help...” she said softly, reaching to take the book back.
“Wait, I’ve got it!” Silver said suddenly, excited, turning around and heading inside. The little one followed, hopeful and curious.
He found you at the kitchen table, reading a book calmly.
The hedgehog sat in front of you, beaming, and placed the book in front of you. You looked up from your book, curious, then saw the workbook.
“Homework, huh?” You smiled.
“Can you help?” Silver asked, as the little one stopped at his side.
“What’s the task?” You marked your page and set your book down. “A quadratic equation? It’s been years since I’ve done one, but I think I can help.” You said cheerfully.
“Thank you, you’re a real lifesaver...” Silver laughed, crossing his arms on the table. The little one did the same.
“It’s nothing. If you want, I can teach you too.” You smiled.
“Sounds great to me. Math in the future is... not exactly like this.” He scratched his neck, glancing away.
“I know, alright, let me see what I can do.” You analyzed the question, grabbing a pencil and beginning to explain to both of them how the equation worked, making small pauses to remember things before continuing.
However, Silver was actually more focused on you than on your explanation. He was watching you with a soft gaze, following every movement you made with his eyes, a little smile on his face.
Then he let out a long sigh, catching your attention.
“Everything okay? You seem lost in thought...” You laughed, watching him blush and his eyes widen.
“N-no, it’s nothing! I was just... admiring you...” He looked away, scratching his arm.
You chuckled softly.
“Thank you, Silver. You're adorable...”
He smiled gently, then suddenly stood up from the chair.
“I-I’m gonna make us a snack... I’ll be right back!” He fumbled a little trying to get out of where he was, quickly heading to the cabinets, looking for ingredients.
Now it was your turn to admire him, watching every agile movement and the little smiles he gave.
“Mom...?” The little one called, breaking the spell and bringing your attention back to her.
“Ah, sorry, here, you just have to do this and you’ll finish the equation.” You said quickly. The little hedgehog giggled softly, clearly enjoying the cute interactions between her parents.
Tumblr media
Scourge
The hedgehog was sprawled out on the couch, his muzzle fur covered in chip crumbs as he munched away. Every now and then his hand reached into the bag for more snacks, bringing them lazily to his mouth.
He shifted a bit, stretching his back, enjoying the calm of the house at night. In the armchair, you were curled up reading a book, also savoring the peaceful moment.
That was until the sound of a bedroom door upstairs echoed through the house. The familiar creak made Scourge flick his ears back. He licked his fingers and tossed the snack bag aside. His blue eyes followed the sound of tiny footsteps coming down the stairs, already spotting two little green-furred hedgehogs whose eyes sparkled mischievously upon seeing Scourge.
“Dad!” the older one called out, coming down quickly, followed by her younger sister.
“Whaddaya want?” he asked, stretching and sitting upright to look at them.
“...Help us with homework?” the older one asked with an innocent look, showing him her notebook, the younger mimicking her with hers.
“Uh...” Scourge looked at their notebooks, scratched his neck, then glanced over at you. “Hey... think ya could gimme a hand here?” he asked. Slowly, you lowered your book, observing the three—but didn’t even have time to answer.
“Dad! We want your help this time. Mom helps every time!” the older one insisted, crossing her arms and staring at Scourge. His ears turned sideways, clearly uncomfortable. You let out a husky chuckle, enjoying the scene and his interaction with the girls.
“...My help, huh?”
“Yes...” both said in unison.
“You sure? 'Cause askin’ a stranger on the street might be smarter...” Scourge laughed at his own joke, but his smile faded when he noticed the girls were still serious, arms crossed.
“We don’t care if your head’s empty...” the little one said.
“Hey, watch ya mouth—I’m still ya dad...” he pointed to himself, making the two exchange confused glances.
“Anyway... you heard my sister, we don’t care, we just want your help...” The older one placed the notebook in his lap, waiting for his next move.
Scourge sighed, thinking for a moment, scratching his cheek before clicking his tongue.
“Aight, screw it. I’ll help ya two.” He extended his hand, opening the notebook to the last page.
“This one... just this one left...” The little one pointed to the question.
Scourge cleared his throat before reading aloud.
“What’s the volume ‘n total surface area of a rectang’lar prism with... what—5, 7, and 9 cm?” He paused, trying to make sense of what he just read, then furrowed his brow. “What the hell’s that even s’posed to mean?” He looked at the girls.
“Dad, you’re supposed to know that!” The older one crossed her arms.
“Pfft, yeah right. D’you see me lookin’ like someone who loves math?” He raised an eyebrow at them.
“No, but I thought you’d at least be useful for helping.”
“You’re really gonna keep throwin’ shade at ya own father?!” He gritted his teeth.
“Of course! How can you be the leader of a gang, become a king, fight a bunch of strong people... and still not know how to do basic math?” The older one waved her arms, trying to wrap her head around the fact that Scourge just didn’t know how to do that question.
“I never had to know nothin’ about volume or area... or whatever them scribbles are in that notebook... My brains ain’t about stupid numbers, alright?” he muttered, clearly getting irritated.
You let out a quiet giggle, continuing to read but clearly listening to the conversation.
“You laughin’ at somethin’?” Scourge raised an eyebrow at you.
“Nothing, I was just reacting to a funny part in the book...” You winked at him, returning to your reading. It was pretty obvious the book wasn’t the reason for your laughter.
“Tch... Aight, ya little punks...” He grabbed a pencil and started scribbling something—an absolutely horrendous scrawl. “Done and done. Daddy left a lil' note for the teacher.” He grinned smugly.
“Dad... I hope that’s not a threat...” the older one said in disbelief, taking the notebook from his hands and reading the note. “Teach my daughters something that’s actually useful?” she read aloud.
“Whaddaya think? Just saved ya from homework ‘til the end of the year...” He leaned back on the couch, hands behind his head like he’d saved the world.
The little one huffed, grabbing an eraser and rubbing out the note he’d written.
“I’m not showing that to the teacher...” she frowned.
“Daddy... can you help me?” the younger one asked quietly, holding up her notebook.
“This homework’s already meltin’ my brain...” he sighed, taking the notebook—only for his face to light up with a huge smile. “Six times three? Easy, kid. That’s twenty-one—write it down.” He handed back the notebook, puffing his chest proudly, feeling like father of the year.
At that moment, you lifted your eyes and stared at him in surprise, then raised an eyebrow. The girls looked at Scourge with the same mix of shock and confusion.
“Scourge...” you said softly. “Twenty-one?”
“What? That ain’t right?” He scratched his head, starting to count on his fingers.
“Dad... It’s eighteen...” the older one said with her mouth agape.
Scourge’s eyes went wide, his muzzle visibly flushing even through his fur. He looked away, crossing his arms.
“I-I knew that! C’mon...” He squeezed his own arm, then suddenly got up and left, muttering, disappearing into the kitchen.
You watched Scourge carefully, then turned to your daughters.
“Let Daddy rest his brain. I’ll help you.” Smiling, you closed your book and placed it on the coffee table.
You already knew Scourge would probably stay sulking for quite a while after that scene. But you were also determined to comfort him later and make sure he wouldn’t stay upset about it.

idk why but i just imagined shadow circling the reader like all hedgehogs do when they like each other. it's weird but the little guy can't bring himself to confess in a proper way (story request? if u could🙏)
Come Full Circle
Tumblr media
Shadow was a weird guy. He just was. But anyone who grew up how he did would be weird, so you put a lot of his strange habits out of your mind. So, you didn't pay it much attention when Shadow's habit of pacing turned into him walking around you.
It wasn't as obvious as him obsessively grooming his quills or him checking his shoes when he was bored. Shadow moved with purpose more often than not, so as he made his way around you, tapping his foot and scanning the perimeter, it took a few laps for you to realize that he was orbiting you like a moon caught by your gravity.
"Everything alright?" You asked, futzing with your outfit to not appear put off by his behavior. The last thing you wanted was to weird him out of things he did to comfort himself. Gaia knew he hardly allowed himself these things.
"Mm." Was all Shadow gave you, his face obscured.
So you shrugged and continued on with your day.
However, when the day winded down into dinnertime, you found yourself surrounded by others, most importantly other hedgehogs. Amy and Sonic specifically stared at you and the ever-orbiting Shadow with wide eyes, which unnerved you. And when you were unnerved, Shadow was biting, so at least they weren't staring for long.
Instead, you caught them giggling to each other, Amy especially joyful.
She caught your hand when Sonic got Shadow's attention with a race.
"Shadow's been circling you, huh?" She asked, smile small but knowing.
"Yeah?" You cocked your head. "What? Don't tell me it means something."
"For a hedgehog like Shadow," Amy began, pausing so you'd huff at her, "it means he likes you."
You were not impressed. "Cool. I like him too."
Amy slugged your arm, and like a bolt of lightning, Shadow appeared before the two of you. You stumbled forward into him, but he easily caught you, giving Amy a halfhearted glare. She didn't speak, but put her hands up in faux surrender.
"Loves you." She said to you, skipping off to soothe the bruised ego of one blue hedgehog. You watched her go, eyes widening when Sonic did a series of laps around her, seemingly just happy to see her.
Loves you. Oh Gaia, ohhhhhhh. . .
Shadow's voice snapped you into reality. "What did she say? Loves you?"
You shook your head to clear it. "Guess she loves me."
Shadow huffed a little, confused but unwilling to ask more questions. Seeing him finally still for once, you carefully began to step behind him. Shadow turns with you for a moment, brows furrowed, but they widen as you begin your second lap.
You had never seen him so still. A smile tugged at your face, but you didn't tease, didn't say anything. Instead, you circled your lovely hedgehog, watching him start to squirm and blush.
But he didn't leave.
Hopefully you'd get a kiss out of him today too.

MOVIE SHADOW X READER HEADCANONS
Gender neutral reader
Tumblr media
Just finished watching Sonic 3 and it was awesome!! Haven’t seen anyone written for movie Shadow yet sooo.. 👀
Warnings?: No spoilers for the movie in this! But maybe him being out of character, I haven’t wrote anything in years lol
Tumblr media
- I feel like his love languages would be quality time and physical touch, he wouldn’t be used to touch at first but would gradually warm up to it. Definitely wouldn’t be the type to be over the top with public affection. Maybe handholding or a hand on your waist in public, but that’s probably it
- Might would be one to get jealous, needs reassurance that you’re not leaving and that you love him, truly. He’s been through a lot and needs to know that you’re not leaving him too
- Likes looking at the stars with you!! Reminds me of that one meme
“Do u like stars?”
“Ya, they’re cool”
- Likes to watch moves with you too! Just please don’t have him watch movies that have ‘aliens’ that are considered bad guys in it :( Just watch cat videos on YouTube with him, he’d be content with that
- Try and show him video games! He’d be really confused on how the controls work, a lot has changed in fifty years
- I feel like he’d like the game Stray, cause cats!! I feel like he absolutely loves cats. Would also probably like Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing. Anything that’s a calm game where you can just do whatever
- Speaking of cats.. he’d love going to a cat cafe with his s/o, would probably want to take them all home afterwards though
- Would end up having a black cat come up to him, rubbing against him and purring. He’d just pick up the cat and ask
“..can we take him home?”
- You can’t say no to Shadow, especially when he’s holding a cat in his hands.. so needless to say, you guys have a new pet now
- But besides cafe dates, just staying at home and cuddling would be perfectly fine with him as a date, anywhere with you, he’s happy
- I feel like he’d genuinely be a really good boyfriend, just takes him time to warm up a bit and get more comfortable with romantic stuff
- And motorcycle rides!! They’d be so fun, but if you get scared if he ever goes too fast, just ask for him to slow down or go a normal speed, he’d probably listen (cause it’s you)
- Gets all blushy and flustered when it comes to physical affection and kisses, he’s not used to it but he loves it
- He’d also like music, specifically older songs. Likes to put vinyls on a record player and dance with you to the song :’)) even if you don’t know how to dance, he’ll try and guide you
Tumblr media
Not really sure what else to add here! Hopefully this was good, sorry if it was out of character :’)
I absolutely love Shadow so much, he’s such a cool character and looked so amazing in the movie

[Click Click Boom] [Shadow x Reader short stories]
Tumblr media
Summary: You're set to be Shadow's companion to keep an eye on him and keep him in line, a courtesy from the goverment for him saving the world with Sonic and the others.
Word count: 1.8k
Warnings: Can be read as platonic or romantic! Shadow/reader romance is implied though! You're human in this, age is vague but you're meant to be in your 20s.
Disclaimer: Shadow is an adult, and as for the furry debate, he's literally an adult who can consent and is sentient, don't like? Don't read!
A/N: I've literally been obsessed with this fucker since I was a literal child and it's the first time I've written for him!! The trailer yas me going insane. This is written well before the movie has come out, literally all I got to work with is Shadow in the trailer and the bits and pieces of info I psychoanalized so I don't wanna hear shit about it not being accurate tbh, this is self indulgent!!
Tumblr media
Shadow isn't the worst task you've been assigned, you both are more akin to awkward roommates more than anything.
I'm talking randomly lingering in the corners of the room, his bright red eyes glowing and they always seemed to be locked right onto you.
You screamed the first dozen times, but now you just glare at the black hedgehog and spit out a "fuck you." and go about your business.
He'll never admit that it brings him infinite amusement, it's hard to tell, but the huff he lets out is evidence enough.
Tumblr media
Shadow will never admit he cares for you, he loses everyone he cares for, and humans don't live that long. It's terrifying to think about how much he's come to like you.
He's not nearly as slick as he thinks he is.
You're sitting down at the dinner table, typing away on your laptop, editing the mission report from the other day when Shadow makes his way towards you. Sending him a nod in his direction, you don't think of anything when he moves in close.
A huge slam takes you off guard though, jumping damn near out of your skin as you twist your head to look at him.
"What the fuck-"
"Take it."
It's one of Shadow's guns, his emblem being engraved along the stock.
"What? No, I have guns." You raise an eyebrow at the hog, his face is perfectly still, eyes locking onto yours as he waits for you to grab the heckler.
"Your guns are worthless, you need something better."
"Well excuse me, I so happen to like my guns." You try and joke back, but the offense is taken.
Shadow rolls his eyes so hard you're scared that he's gonna blind himself. Jutting his chin towards the table once more to get your focus back onto it.
"If you have one of mine, I know you're safe." He doesn't elaborate. Not that he needs to.
"...Thank you, Shad."
All you get is a grunt in response, and he's on his way back to his room.
Gingerly picking up the weapon, you take in how pristine it is, a thumb caressing your small initials that you missed on the other side of the stock.
Tumblr media
With Shadow saving the world, the reeking of havoc makes it to where he's limited to what he is allowed to do in the public eye.
Not that he listens, he isn't supposed to be out after curfew. But to be fair, it is extremely hard to keep a teleporting hedgehog confined to a meager two-story house.
You can hear him teleport above you, he's on the roofs of the nearby building, leering down at you.
It was a small errand you were on, simply stocking up on the essentials for the house.
Namely, snacks for Shadow, he doesn't ask for a lot other than coffee beans and Doritos.
You are choosing to ignore the fact that he eats the coffee beans straight up, the crunch echoes through your head and it sends a shudder down your spine.
He was adamant against you leaving the house this late, standing in front of the front door.
"No."
"Fuck you mean no?"
"I said no."
"....I don't listen to men."
And you weaved around him to leave the house, ignoring his shout of disapproval.
That leads you both to here now, you pretending you don't see him trailing you from the rooftops as you walk your way back home from the small shopping center.
You feign surprise when he opens the house door for you, begrudgingly sticking a hand out to help you with your bags.
"Oh! Thank you my knight in shining armor~"
"Shut it."
Tumblr media
He's never told you his birthday, which you can understand, living for 50 years and not having your family around must be hard. No matter how he may fake that it doesn't bother him.
That doesn't stop you, not in the slightest really. You damn near kick him out of the house for the day, shoving him over to Tom and Maddie's house so he can be with the others. Despite how much he protested.
"I don't want to go over there. Not with that blue fake."
"You don't really have a choice bub, I need you out of the house."
"I don't understand why I have to-"
"Keep arguing with me and I will make it a point to not buy you shit next grocery trip."
It's an empty threat, but he grunts nonetheless.
"...."
"That's what I thought."
When he finally gets home from his long and admittedly overstimulating day with the Wachowskis, he's ready to recharge in his room.
He teleports through the house door, sighing and rubbing at his temples as he moves to kick off his shoes, knowing that if he doesn't, you'd chastise him for not doing so.
Something about tracking dirt and rocket fuel into the carpet.
Whatever.
After trying to massage his brain through his fur, he opens his eyes up to see a colorful banner strung across the mantle.
'Happy birthday!' It screams, in its disgustingly neon color palette.
Shadow wracks his brain for any information of it being your birthday, he knows for a fact it isn't today. A friend you're throwing a party for? Well, that makes no sense, he knows very well you don't have many friends, especially any that you'd invite your house up for.
You're antisocial to a fault, not that he has absolutely any room to talk.
He hears you before he sees you, turning the corner into the living room, carrying some balloons in your hands. A stupid little party hat on your head.
"Shadow! What are you doing back so early?"
Kicking off the last shoe, he stands at his full height, staring into your eyes with a shrug.
"I wasn't aware I had a time."
"....fair enough, anyways, fuck, goddamnit. Stay here. Okay?"
And you're off, running into the kitchen, his ears flick at the slamming of the fridge door, followed by the cabinets being no doubt, hip nudging it shut way too forcefully.
He's awkwardly standing there still until you yell for him to come in.
Shadow has half a mind to ignore you and go into his room, but curiosity kills the cat, so he takes in a deep breath and makes his way to you.
He finds you sitting at the little kitchenette, a nervous smile spread across your lips as you gesture to the plate in front of you.
The smell is apparent, it's a coffee cupcake.
The hedgehog feels his ears flick again, staring down at the desert, then trailing his eyes back to meet your own. Wordlessly asking you what was going on.
"You've never told me your birthday, but it's been a year since you've been here, with me. After the whole trying to destroy the world shit. So since you won't tell me, we can kinda treat this as it?" You keep rambling, eyes flitting around the room, very clearly nervous as to his reaction.
Shadow doesn't say anything, or move even. Just staring down at the cupcake.
It looks amateurish, the frosting is lopsided, and the toppings on it look messy. But you made it for him. You even added a big black "1" candle in the center.
He doesn't know what to say, he can feel heat rush through his body, rushing to his ears and his face, and his fur feels constricting.
What the fuck.
What the actual fuck.
You go to open your mouth again, no doubt to apologize, but he beats you to it.
Moving to scoop up the treat, he gently sniffs it before taking a cautionary bite.
A beat passes between the two of you.
"...it's good."
Shadow does his best to ignore the smile that blooms across your face, not wanting to remember just how pretty he finds you like this.
Disgusting.
Tumblr media
Shadow doesn't like touch, you know it, he knows it, and everyone knows it. He's threatened to break Sonic's wrist for even so much as patting the older hedgehog on the back. Baring his sharper fangs and hissing out to not touch him ever.
He avoids group hugs from Team Sonic, avoids Tom and Maddie like the plague, dodging every invitation to be a part of the family, it makes him sick to think about it.
With you, it's a little different.
You're not like them, you don't push him to change, you don't have a problem with how closed off he is, giving him space, never once pushing his very strict boundaries.
Something churns in his chest at the sound of you crying in your room, you probably think you're being incognito, holding a pillow to your face to drown out your sobs.
The internal debate is heavy, Shadow used to be able to comfort, to provide warmth, but he hasn't done so in years. Flashes of memories where he would comfort Maria on her bad health days, letting her run her fingers over his quills, to lend an ear to Gerald when he was frustrated about treatments not working.
It's not to say he is replacing you in their place, but it's scary. To open himself up like that again. He can feel his anxiety rising as he goes over the pros and cons of crossing this line. Eyes squeeze shut forcefully as he tells himself he doesn't care about you, that you're an adult, and you don't need to be babied.
His ears twitch when a pathetic little whimper drops from your lips, and his resolve cracks.
You don't look up when he makes his way in, too stuck in your bubble.
Startling a little when two, much stronger and larger hands grab at your own, peeling them away from the pillow. Your puffy bloodshot eyes looking at the hedgehog in front of you, his face set as it usually is, stoic. But his eyes are different, and his body language is different, when has he ever looked at you so softly? It's jarring.
Oh, he's moving closer. Okay. Weird.
"Shadow? Uh, I'm ok-"
You try and lie, it's a pitiful attempt. Your voice is scratchy and the tear tracks down your cheeks aren't helping your plight.
"No, you're not."
He shuts you down immediately, hands sliding up your arms to drag you into him.
The instant your bodies touch, you feel a fresh wave of tears well up in your eyes again.
Shadow has you resting against him, your head resting on him as he wraps himself loosely in your arms, giving you the space to move away if you so choose.
It's the first time he's allowed you to hug him, the first time he's ever initiated contact with someone in years. A fact that you both are well aware of.
A sob works its way up your throat, immediately tightening your grip on the hedgehog, curling into him as you shake.
Shadow doesn't say anything, doesn't make fun of you as snot pours from your nose, doesn't point out that your mascara and eyeliner are getting everywhere, just sits there and lets you cling onto him like he's your only lifeline.
He thinks that this is okay, he's strong enough for you both, and you don't need to worry when he's here.

I would like to request a Sonic 3 Shadow x reader where after Shadow brakes out and go's to Tokyo he runs into a American tourist, who offers him her umbrella in the rain and he protects her when G.U.N shows up. Or reader offers to take him back to her hotel to wait out the rain . Or both please.
you trudged through the rain in the surprisingly still busy streets of Tokyo. you had decided to take a sightseeing trip and with the city being such a novel to so many people, you booked a flight to check it off your bucket list. today was merely your second day and it had not disappointed.
until today, that is. the rain had put a pause on your plans — which had been made in hopes of a mostly sunny day with light drizzle. the drizzle quickly turned into a downpour though. luckily you had still brought your umbrella despite the claims of sprinkles.
as you walked, staring straight ahead to make sure you wouldn’t accidentally bump into someone on the busy sidewalks, you took notice of a significantly shorter figure wandering aimlessly through the streets. cars mannered around it, honking and even splashing puddles over it, to which it would quickly shake it off and continue. the closer you got, the more the figure seemed to get clearer.
black and red fur, standing at about 3 to 4 feet, pointy ears and the only ‘clothing’ it wore was gloves and shoes. it’s little muzzle had a frown; brows scrunched up and red eyes flitting around in an almost panicked state. it clearly was confused by everything around it, and everyone was just passing him by — not even bothering to help.
it tugged at your heart. you couldn’t just leave the poor thing sopping wet and standing cluelessly in the streets. what if a car didn’t see it, and it got run over?
you slowly made your way over to it, and seemingly aware of your footsteps despite the noise surrounding it, it whipped around, glaring at you with its fists raised. It was intelligent enough to know danger it seemed.
“ I’m not gonna hurt you, “ you began, eyes flicking up to your umbrella and back down at it, “ but you’re going to get hurt if you keep walking around like that. and you’re all wet.. “ a flicker of confusion, but it seemed to be listening to you, ears twitching. you turned your umbrella towards it to block any more rain from seeping into it’s matted fur.
“ so you don’t get more wet. “ you explained softly, watching it crane it’s head back curiously to look at the umbrella, and how the rain bounced off and kept it dry. its arms lowered. it looked back up at you and parted it’s lips, and you wondered if it could speak —
tires screeched and you looked up, finding yourself now surrounded by military vehicles. the doors were quick to fly open and armored soldiers stepped out simultaneously, guns drawn and pointed to you and the creature. what had you gotten yourself into? you only had a moment to glance down at the little being — who met your eyes and took notice of the fear you had.
it was gone in the blink of an eye, and you turned around to see where it went. flashes of white and fur appeared and disappeared around you, and one by one the soldiers were taken down. you had to duck down with your umbrella forgotten beside you to cover from the gunfire, hands over your ears to muddle the loud bangs.
they stood no chance. within minutes all the soldiers were taken down, groaning in pain and some even retreating when they realized they couldn’t fight back. the creature appeared before you again, and you lowered your hands from your ears, eyes wide in shock and awe. he frowned, picking up your discarded umbrella and holding it over you. you took it with shaky hands.
“ you’re not hurt? “ it spoke, voice low and raspy, like it hadn’t spoken in some time. a boy, you decided — he sounded like a boy.
“ no. “ you murmured, slowly rising to your feet, “ are you? “
“ no. “ he responded, as if the mere thought of being touched was outlandish. laughable. you should have expected that with what you saw. you held the umbrella over you both and looked around at the fallen soldiers and overturned vehicles. it was still raining.
“ we should get out of the rain. “ you found yourself saying, and you were shocked with yourself. you were inviting this little creature, this boy alien to join you in finding shelter after witnessing the strength he had in his fists alone. they bothered him first, you found yourself reasoning, they surrounded him and made him feel he was in danger. he was protecting himself.
“ follow me. “ you looked down at the creature, and he stared up at you with a look of curiosity. but he didn’t look half as dangerous as he did a moment ago, “ I’m staying someplace nearby. It’s warm and dry. “ He nodded.
you began to lead him down the street as if the chaos behind you didn’t exist, and he followed beside you. the second being to treat him as if he were just another living thing and not a weapon — not that you would know that. you jumped when he spoke again.
“ shadow. “ he looked up at you, “ my name is shadow. “ a name to your savior. you gave a small smile down at him, and his face softened at the sight.
“ it’s nice to meet you shadow. “
this was certainly more interesting than sightseeing.

the forest was eerily silent, Shadow’s crimson eyes scanned the trees for threats his ears twitching at every faint sound
as night fell, the temperature dropped, and you began to shiver despite your best efforts to stay warm
“We’ll rest here” he declared, stopping in a small clearing. he set out gathering sticks and dried leaves, before long he had a small fire going. you sat close to the flames your arms wrapped around your knees. Shadow joined you, sitting just close enough that your shoulders brushed. for a while the two of you sat in silence the crackling fire providing the only comfort in the otherwise quiet forest.
“you’re trembling” Shadow muttered, his voice low and filled with concern
“It’s just the cold” you replied, though the truth was that the day’s events had left you shaken. being stranded in the middle of nowhere with no plan wasn’t exactly comforting even if you trusted Shadow completely.
shadow shifted closer, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and pulling you against him. his body was surprisingly warm and you leaned into him instinctively, your head resting against his chest. his other hand found yours, his gloved fingers intertwining with your own
“I won’t let anything happen to you,” he said firmly, “Not here, not ever.”
you glanced up at him, surprised because Shadow rarely expressed himself openly.
“I know” you whispered, giving his hand a gentle squeeze
despite the crackling fire, it did little to ease the ache in your body. the fight with eggman had been brutal, and the hard landing in the forest didn’t help. your muscles were sore, your head was pounding, and the shallow cuts on your arms and legs stung as the cool night air nipped at your skin.
“you’re bleeding” Shadow said suddenly his voice sharp
you followed his gaze to a thin line of red trailing down your forearm
“It’s nothing” you said quickly brushing it off. “Just a scratch.”
Shadow’s eyes narrowed “Don’t downplay it.” before you could protest, he was on his feet rummaging through the small satchel you always carried
he returned with a strip of cloth and a small bottle of alcohol. “Give me your arm” he said firmly, kneeling in front of you.
“Shadow, I don’t…”
“Don’t argue.” his tone left no room for protests, but there was a gentleness in the way he took your arm, his gloved fingers holding it carefully
you sighed, giving in as he uncapped the bottle of alcohol. “This might sting” he warned, glancing up at you briefly before dabbing the cold liquid onto your wound
you winced as the alcohol burned but Shadow’s grip remained firm, his thumb brushing small circles against your skin in what you suspected was an attempt to comfort you
“Sorry” he murmured. so softly you almost didn’t catch it
“It’s fine” you replied, watching him as he worked. his usual demeanor had softened
after cleaning the wound he carefully wrapped the cloth around your arm, tying it securely but not too tightly. he inspected it one last time before releasing your arm satisfied with his work
“there” he said simply, sitting back on his heels
“thank you” you said, smiling faintly
“didn’t know you were so good at this”
Shadow’s ears twitched and he looked away, a slight hint of pink dusting his cheeks. “i’ve had to patch myself up enough times” he muttered. “It’s… different when it’s you.”
you blinked caught off guard. “different how?”
he hesitated, his gaze fixed on the fire “You’re not like me. You shouldn’t have to deal with pain like this. If I can take care of you, I will.”
the sincerity in his voice made your chest tighten. you reached out placing a hand on his cheek, guiding his gaze back to yours. “Shadow, I don’t need you to protect me from everything. Just… stay with me. That’s all.”
his eyes softened as he leaned into your touch, his larger hand covering yours. “I’ll stay” he promised, his voice barely above a whisper
the fire crackled between you, its warmth nothing in comparison to the feeling of his hand in yours and the way his gaze was on you. for a moment the forest and the uncertainty of everything faded away, leaving just the two of you in this moment
Shadow moved closer, his free hand brushing a stray strand of hair from your face
Shadow’s gloved fingers lingered near your face after brushing the stray strand of hair away. his eyes softened as they met yours, the glow of the fire reflecting faintly in his gaze. for a moment he didn’t say anything and you wondered if he was simply lost in thought. but then he spoke quiet, low and almost hesitant
“You’re… beautiful.”
his words hung in the air, so soft and unexpected that you almost thought you imagined them. Shadow, the hedgehog who rarely let his guard down was staring at you like you were the only thing in the world that mattered
your heart skipped a beat “hm?”
his ears twitched slightly, and a faint blush tinted his cheeks, but his gaze never left yours “You’re beautiful” he repeated, his voice steadier this time
your chest tightened at your boyfriends’ sweet words. you opened your mouth to respond but no words came out.. what could you even say to that?
“I know I don’t say things like this often” Shadow began, his hand brushing against your cheek now, the gesture so tender. “But… you mean more to me than I can ever put into words. And seeing you hurt- it makes me realize how much i’d do to keep you safe.”
your throat felt tight as you reached up, covering his hand with yours. “Shadow… you don’t have to say anything. I already know.”
he shook his head slightly “No, you deserve to hear it. you deserve to know how much you’ve changed me, how much you matter too me .”
the small fire cast a warm glow over his face highlighting every soft curve and sharp angle. you couldn’t help but smile a warmth filling your chest “Even when you’re trying to act all tough, you’re… so sweet with me.”
Shadow let out a quiet huff almost like a laugh his lips curving into the faintest of smiles. “You’re the only one who’s ever seen me this way” he admitted. “And I think… I like it.”
you leaned forward, your hand still resting over his “Good” you said softly. “Because I like you this way too. All of you”
his gaze lingered on you for a moment before he leaned in pressing a soft kiss to your forehead
Shadow pulled away. “I’ll set up a place for us to rest” he said, standing up and looking around the clearing
you watched as he moved, his sharp eyes scanning the surrounding area his usual seriousness had crumbled from the care he’d been showing you all night. Shadow always seemed so distant to others but when it was just the two of you he was different.. more vulnerable, more affectionate.
he gathered a few fallen branches and large leaves arranging them in a small makeshift bed on the soft ground. when he returned to you he extended his hand his eyes softening as he met yours
“Come” he said, his voice gentle now. “It’ll be more comfortable than sitting by the fire all night.”
you took his hand without hesitation. feeling the warmth of his touch as he helped you to your feet. your body was still sore and it ached. as you moved toward the makeshift bed Shadow followed. it wasn’t much but the effort he put into making it as comfortable as possible didn’t go unnoticed
Shadow lay down beside you, his usually guarded demeanor now much more relaxed in the quiet of the forest. there was a brief moment of silence between the two of you before he shifted pulling you closer, his arm wrapping around your waist to draw you into his warmth
the contact was comforting, you could feel the heat from his body seep into yours, melting away any chill in your body
you let out a soft sigh, your back resting against his chest, and the steady beat of his heart reminded you how much he adored and cared about you
“is this okay?” Shadow asked quietly his voice barely above a whisper. it was the first time he’d seemed uncertain, though the way he held you told you something else
you turned your head slightly to look at him, catching the rare softness in his eyes as he waited for your response. it was so unlike Shadow to ask for reassurance but the moment felt incredibly intimate and you could feel his hesitation.
“Yes, it’s perfect” you murmured, shifting so you could look at him fully “I feel safe with you.”
his gaze softened, and for a moment you saw something , the affection that he rarely let slip
you smiled softly, reaching up to gently touch his cheek
he leaned into your touch, his eyes softly closing shut for just a moment and when he opened them again, they were filled with warmth. “Rest” he murmured, his arm tightening slightly around you pulling you even closer “I’ll keep you safe.”
as the warmth of Shadow’s body surrounded you, you felt a sense of comfort. the quiet hum of the night and the crackling fire were the only sounds that filled the area around you but in his arms, it felt like everything was exactly as it should be
Shadow shifted slightly, his body moving closer until his breath ghosted against your neck. you felt his nose gently nudge the crook of your neck and his warm, soft fur brushed against your skin as he nuzzled in. the action so intimate and affectionate, made your heart flutter it was a rare gesture from Shadow one that you could tell he didn’t often show to anyone else.
for a long moment he was still, just resting against you. his breath steady and calm as if he found peace in the simple act of being close to you. his arm tightened around your waist pulling you even closer as though trying to keep you in place, safe and warm
you could feel the rhythm of his heartbeat against your back, and the longer you stayed pressed against him the more you felt yourself drifting. his warmth keeping you protected from the cold night air
“Goodnight” Shadow murmured softly his voice barely above a whisper. it was the gentlest you’d ever heard him sound and you could hear the affection in his words
“Goodnight, Shadow.” you replied, your voice soft, your body relaxing in his arms
as your eyelids grew heavy the gentle pressure of his body against yours made it impossible to stay awake any longer. his warmth and the l beat of his heart lulled you into a peaceful slumber, every worry slipping away as you let yourself drift into sleep
in his arms you knew you were safe, and as the night passed his hand stayed gently resting on your waist, his thumb brushing faint circles into your side. Shadow stayed awake, his gaze never leaving the darkness of the forest making sure that nothing would disturb your sleep.

Operation: Baby Shadow
I saw a video of baby shadow on tiktok and I thought I might write a little something.
Baby!Shadow x reader (not in a weird way shoo shoo)
Pure fluff!
The day started normally enough—if “normal” meant Rouge dragging you out of bed with zero warning and a pair of sunglasses that screamed I’m here to cause problems on purpose.
“You’re coming with me,” she said, heels clicking against your hardwood floor like it was a runway. “Emergency.”
You groaned, shoving your face into the pillow. “What kind of emergency?”
“The kind where Shadow got hit by a Chaos artifact and now he’s…a baby.”
You sat up.
“What.”
Rouge smirked. “Glad I have your attention.”
You expected a chibi version of Shadow brooding in the corner, arms crossed like a pouty anime character. What you did not expect was a literal toddler-sized Shadow the Hedgehog sitting in the middle of Rouge’s living room, glaring at a juice box like it had offended his entire bloodline.
“Is that…him?” you asked, stepping cautiously into the room.
“Yep.” Rouge popped a bubble of gum, hands on her hips. “Found him in some ancient ruins. He touched a glowing orb—big mistake. Now we’re here.”
Little Shadow glanced up at you. Same red eyes. Same emo scowl. Except…his proportions were tiny. His gloves barely fit, his chest fur was fluffier, and his little feet kicked at the carpet in a way that was almost—dare you say it—adorable.
“He looks like a Build-A-Bear with trauma,” you whispered.
Shadow narrowed his eyes. “I heard that.”
Rouge’s laughter was immediate. “His attitude is still full-sized, thank Chaos.”
You knelt beside him, lips twitching into a smile. “Hey, Shads. You okay in there?”
He looked at you, and for a second, something softened in his gaze. “You smell like home.”
Your heart did a triple backflip into a pile of warm laundry. “Oh my god.”
Rouge was having way too much fun with the situation. “Alright, baby bat. Let’s try some talking. Say Rouge.”
Shadow blinked up at her. “…Roosh.”
Rouge clutched her heart dramatically. “That’s close enough! He loves me.”
Then she turned to you. “Your turn. Bet he calls you Y/N like a champ.”
You knelt down again, putting on your most encouraging smile. “Okay, Shadow. Can you say Y/N?”
He tilted his head. Thought about it.
“…Babe.”
Rouge dropped her gum.
You blinked. “I—what?”
“Babe,” Shadow repeated, like it was the most obvious word in the world. “Mine.”
Rouge was wheezing. “Oh my god, he’s still simping for you! In toddler form!”
“I do not simp,” Shadow growled.
You were blushing so hard you were about to become a fire hazard.
The next few days were wild.
Shadow, now stuck in his chibi form, refused to wear anything other than his own gear, which Rouge had to custom-tailor smaller. (There was a tiny leather jacket involved. It was glorious.) He also insisted on sitting in your lap anytime you were within five feet of him.
“Shadow, I need to make dinner.”
“I assist.”
“You can’t reach the stove.”
“I supervise.”
Mostly, he just clung to your shirt and pointed at things like a princely cat demanding tribute. When you handed him a carrot to gnaw on while you cooked, he called it “primitive” and asked for chili dogs.
“Who even taught you that word?”
“Knuckles.”
“Of course.”
One afternoon, Rouge left you alone with him while she tried to find a Chaos-reversal expert.
“Don’t break him,” she warned, sliding on her shades. “He’s already emotionally unstable.”
“Thanks, Mom.”
After she left, you looked at Shadow curled up on your couch, swaddled in a blanket and watching Looney Tunes like he was studying enemy tactics.
“You doing okay, baby hedgehog?”
He nodded solemnly. “You are warm.”
You chuckled. “You’re clingier like this, you know.”
“Still me,” he said, staring at you with deadly sincerity. “Just smaller. Still want you.”
That sentence would’ve knocked you flat if he hadn’t followed it up with: “Also, I request spaghetti.”
There were definitely highlights to babysitting Baby Shadow.
• When he tried to fight a Roomba.
• When he climbed into your laundry basket and called it “a tactical pod.”
• When he threw a tantrum because his juice box was “too weak.”
And then, the moment that took the cake:
You were trying to brush his head quills—because he refused to let Rouge do it—and you gently told him to “sit still, babe.”
He turned around and said: “You called me babe. I win.”
Your soul left your body.
By the fourth day, Rouge returned with a glowing crystal and a look of triumph.
“Alright, hedgie,” she said. “Time to undo the baby curse.”
Shadow crossed his tiny arms. “I like being small.”
Rouge arched a brow. “You like not being able to reach the bathroom sink?”
“…Less so.”
He looked at you, eyes softening. “Will I still be yours when I’m big again?”
You knelt in front of him, brushing a hand through his ridiculous quills. “You were always mine, Shadow.”
With a glow and a whirl of Chaos energy, he transformed back—taller, sleeker, the same broody edge, but now with slightly rumpled quills and a faint blush on his cheeks.
You blinked.
He blinked.
You both said, “Hey.”
Rouge rolled her eyes so hard you could hear it.
Later that night, the three of you sat on the couch—Rouge sipping wine, you nursing hot chocolate, Shadow leaning with his arm draped behind you like a middle-schooler on a date.
“I remember everything,” he said suddenly.
You glanced at him. “From when you were tiny?”
He nodded. “Every word. Every cuddle. Every time you kissed my forehead.”
You blushed. “Well, you were adorable. I had to.”
“You still do.”
Rouge groaned. “Get a room.”
“You’re the one in my apartment,” you shot back.
Shadow smirked, smug and a little dangerous. “She’s just mad she didn’t get more cuddles.”
Rouge nearly choked on her wine. “Excuse me! I coddled you!”
“You tucked me in once,” he said, raising an eyebrow. “And called me a gremlin.”
“That’s called affection!”
You laughed so hard you nearly dropped your mug.
That night, curled in bed with the fully-grown Shadow pressed against your back, he murmured something into your shoulder.
“What was that?” you asked sleepily.
“…Still think you smell like home.”
You smiled.
“You too, babe.”
He groaned, but didn’t correct you.

hii! really love your sonic writing :D
prompt for you, hedgehogs and circling are now infamous after the last twitter takeover, so can i ask for a sonic, shadow, and silver x reader where they start to circle the reader? like maybe it’s before the three have realized they’re actually in love, and that instinctual action kinda makes it click for them. how would they react, what would they do? (gaia forbid if reader catches on eventually and reciprocates, regardless of species)
thank you!!!!
this is so cute i love it!!! enjoy!!
Love?

┊➤ 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬; 𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐞
Tumblr media
𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂; sonic would do it purposely. every time he’s near you, he runs in laps around you, and you being clueless as ever, just took it as him wanting to blow some steam off by running. it did take you a while to actually comprehend what exactly was going on. you had heard from amy about it once, and here it was, happening to you.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“sonic?”
you spoke out, watching the blue hedgehog’s every move in confusion as he discreetly circled around you.
you noticed his speed increasing by the second. just what was he doing?
“hm?” he responded back to you, playing oblivious, but that slight smirk on his face told you otherwise.
“just what exactly are you…doing?” as the words came out your mouth, you had suddenly came to realization.
sonic noticed the way you froze up, and couldn’t help but smirk a bit wider.
“finally get it?”
that damn tone..
“you stupid hedgehog…” you murmured out, but even so you couldn’t stop the smile that became present on your face, walking over and giving the boy a kiss on the cheek.
“i love you too.”
𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐖; shadow would do it unintentionally. he’d never notice when he would circle around you frequently whenever you two were with each other. and if he did notice, he’d stop immediately out of embarrassment. you, however, never did acknowledge it, thinking it was just yet another weird thing shadow liked to do. the one who would notice it was rouge, the sly bat would tease shadow about. the second she first noticed it.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
you, shadow, and rouge were currently on a mission at the moment. you hated being in the forest, especially having to past or even go through multiple bushes.
you snapped out of your thoughts when you heard a faint sound of rouges chuckling
you looked around in confusion. no one has said anything for the past 10 minutes, so what was she chuckling about?
that’s when you finally noticed.
one lap
two laps
three laps
“uh…shadow?”
your voice had snapped the dark hedgehog out of his thoughts. only now did he realize what he had been doing.
shadow’s muzzle was painted with a slight pink hue as he looked at you, sparing rouge a quick glance— well, glare.
before he could get a word out, rouge already spoke for him.
“it seems the all ultimate life form is in love.”
well that was embarrassing. for shadow at least.
𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐕𝐄𝐑; silver would do it in excitement. every time he sees you it’s as if his body’s on autopilot. tail wagging as he had that stupid lovestruck smile on his face. silver’s not good at hiding his feelings, if it isn’t obvious enough. even if he wanted to, he just couldn’t. he’d just be a bit too shy to just outwardly admit his feelings though. so he makes up for it by his actions.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
silver was circling around you, as he rambled on and on about whatever was on the top of his head.
he loved talking to you, he never wanted the conversation to end!
oh how he wished he could just confess already, he’s way too scared of rejection to do that.
no matter how many times blaze had already reassured him that your feelings for him was obvious, he just couldn’t wrap his head around it.
you, liking him?
that seemed nearly impossible for the boy.
“silver, did you have too much sugar today or something?” you questioned the boy with a slight tilt of your head.
sure, he’s always been pretty lively, but man, he seemed over the moon today.
flustered as ever, the hedgehog stopped his rambling, trying to get a word out, but he just kept stumbling over his words.
you had already been aware of how he felt, and the meaning behind his actions. you were just waiting for the moment he’d officially confessed.
with a chuckle, you simply said.
“you’re so cute, silv.”
silver.exe has stopped working.

Depressed. Lonely. Unwanted. Those are the words that you’d describe how you’re feeling. You knew Shadow liked his personal space, but isn’t this a bit much? After being the only one initiating for a month straight, it’s finally taken its toll on you.
Rationally, you’re aware if Shadow didn’t at least tolerate your company, he wouldn’t give you the time of day. Let alone reciprocate affection when given. It still hurt, putting in all the effort suddenly.
It’s been a while since the last time you spent the night at his place. Not from the lack of asking. Shadow shot down every time it was brought up. The way he answered differed. Sometimes it was a flat, “No.” Other times he would go silent, deep into thought before politely declining. There was no tell whether or not Shadow was hesitating to say yes or to say no.
Tonight was the night. You practically begged him. Your hands clasps his, bringing it to your chest. Puppy eyes refuse to break contact even as he slightly turned his head away. “Pretty please Shadow? Pleaaaase? I really miss you. Just one night,” you implored.
Shadow grits his teeth. The glaring annoyance in his features conceal Shadow’s inner turmoil. Curse these damn thoughts. If only you were begging for something else. I’d give it all in a heartbeat.
Damn it— “Tch! Fine. For one night.”
It’s a good thing he already replaced those torn covers…
*ੈ✩‧₊˚
The plan was simple. You take his bed, Shadow takes the couch. With this arrangement, he can keep himself in check while you’re still able to get a peaceful night’s sleep.
What a fool he was hoping that you’d agree.
Even though Shadow insisted he take the couch so you can have his bed all to yourself, you countered with, “Well, if you’re going to sleep on the couch so will I! I didn’t ask to stay for the night for us to end up not sleeping together, idiot.”
At first, you tried to sleep with your head laid on his chest. Leg propped over Shadow’s torso. Normally, you both wouldn’t have a problem falling into a deep slumber like this. A subtle steady heartbeat coercing your body to drift away. Protective arms wrapped around your being. Tonight? You weren’t sure if who you’re nuzzling against was a hedgehog or a wooden log.
Try as he might, Shadow couldn’t relax his muscles. In and out. Focus on breathing. Nothing else.
Don’t pay any mind on how much his body has been aching for your touch. Ignore the hot breath that tickles his chest. Your sickly sweet scent filling up his nose. The way your crotch is pressed up against his hip.
You resign, noticing the rigid, mechanical breathing. Wordlessly peeling yourself off of Shadow to lay on your side, back towards him. Better not make him any more uncomfortable even though you really wanted to cuddle him. Give him space and let him chase.
Almost immediately, some of the tension Shadow was holding dissipates. Finally allowing himself to sink further into the mattress. The air feels like a thousand needles pricking him now that your warmth is gone. A heavy breath leaves him, not noticing he’s been holding it in this whole time.
It would be so much easier if he simply told you what is going on. Why he has been ‘distant’ for the past few weeks. Bringing up the topic feels too awkward, too… humiliating. Your partner is so stubborn when it came to asking for help. Shadow didn’t need to suffer alone at all if only he spoke up. You were more than happy to assist him whenever needed… this Shadow knew well.
Weight of the mattress shifts behind you. Springs crunching and squeaking underneath. You paid no mind as your consciousness stood at the border of dreamland.
As the last strand of thought was about to be plucked away, a paid of arms found purchase around your waist. Like a squeaky toy being squeezed, your eyes shot open and bulged out as you quietly squealed from the sudden movement.
Shadow’s body and yours press up against each other. Legs tangle with one another. A tender kiss is pressed to the back of your neck sending goosebumps down your spine.
Sleep finally drags you into the void.
ੈ✩‧₊˚
Moonlight peeks through the cracks of the black out curtains. Watching your every move. Shadows intertwine and dance upon the cool sheets of the bed. Ecstasy clings onto every inch of your skin. Combined sweat glistening due to the spotlight provided by the moon.
“Ngh.. haah.. Shadow—“
Your heart leaps out of your chest. The utterance of your partners name startles you awake. Wetness pools in between your legs from the dream. Underwear sticks uncomfortably to your cunt.
Heavy breathing combined with something hard pressed against your ass signals that you’re not the only one having a wonderful dream or maybe he was the cause? Pressure varies from light to firm in a nice rhythmic pattern.
Shadow’s arms are wrapped around you tight, unaware that you’re awake. His hot breaths that moan your name tickle your ear. One hand begins to wander. The inhibitor ring gets caught by the fabric, here and there, contributing to his clunky movements. Eventually it finds its way to the edge of your shirt. Shadow’s bare hand slides up your abdomen, between the valley of your breasts, before settling on a mound. Gently but firmly gripping it. Even though you call out his name, no response is given. Shadow continues to hump your ass, riling you up more. Hips begin to move in tandem with his, craving more friction. A whimper escapes past your lips, calling out his name once more.
What woke Shadow up was your hand squeezing the top of his. Blinking the sleep away, he became more aware of his actions.
Guilt swallows him up whole. Shadow mutters a rushed apology, “I didn’t— Forgive me.” His ears flick back momentarily in agitation as he begins to free his limbs from you. Although untangled your hand refuses to let go. When he sits up, so do you. Oh no, you’ve let this gone on long enough.
“Forgive you for what?”, you interject, worry laced in your words. Due to the low light in the room, you could only partially see Shadow’s expression. An oh so familiar mask of stone adorns his face.
He doesn’t move an inch. A good sign. It means he’s not immediately avoiding or distancing himself from you. A chance to reel Shadow back... To keep him grounded.
Silence follows your question. Again, you speak up, “What’s on your mind, my love? You’ve been acting odd these days. If there’s anything I can help you with…”
The void of the room stares straight back at Shadow. Thoughts collecting to form a coherent sentence. Finally he speaks, though not of his own volition. Words spill out before he could stop them, “That’s the problem. You can and you would. Taking advantage of you is not something I intend to do… but I might with my current state.”
Brows furrow and a deep frown sets on your muzzle. “What the fuck are you talking about.” May the gods praise you for your patience with this man—. Sucking in a sharp inhale you speak again,“Shadow.. It is not taking advantage for accepting my help. Otherwise I wouldn’t have offered in the first place. It’s not as if I’m physically unable to say no later down the line anyways,” your free hand reaches up to Shadow’s cheek, turning his face towards you, “So if you could please tell me instead of having me guess, I would appreciate it.”
Your hand is so incredibly soft. Shadow couldn’t help but lean into your touch. “It’s— rutting season,” he mutters under his breath.
“What?”
Although he’s facing you, his eyes refuse to meet yours. Shadow’s shyness announces its presence in the form of crimson staining his cheeks, “It’s.. supposedly the time of the year for hedgehogs having the urge to breed.” His tail thumps excessively at the thought of knocking you up. Reaching back, Shadow grabs his tail to hold it still.
The cogs in your brain begin to turn, putting the pieces together. This whole time he was acting touch adverse due to being overstimulated by your presence. You’d be lying if you said you weren’t a little disappointed that Shadow didn’t tell you sooner.
Taking too long to answer, Shadow takes your silence as judgement. “Hmph, I’m sleeping on the couch,” he announces, shuffling away from you.
“The hell you are! You’re finishing what you started tonight, mister.” Your partner is forcefully yanked back and pinned onto the mattress. Straddling him, you can see his features much easier. Eyes looking up at you widen in shock before narrowing. Shadow’s fangs flash in a mischievous smirk.
“You are aware of what you’re asking, right?”
“Uh, yes?”
Easy as flipping a pancake, you two switch positions. Your hands are in tight grips above your head. Shadow leans close to your ear, chests nearly touching. In a low sultry voice he says, “You sound unsure. Allow me to clarify: I won’t be done with you until you’re passed out or I’m empty, understood?”
It was as if a switch had been flipped inside him. Now that the laundry has been hung up to air, Shadow can finally indulge what he’s been craving for: you.
Scarlet eyes scan your features for any hint of fear, hesitation. Of course Shadow wants you to be comfortable and enjoy yourself while he lets out his urges.
Immediately your heart leaps into your throat. Excitement shooting through your system like electricity. The edges of your mouth twist upwards into a lopsided smile. “Loud and clear, Shad. You have a lot of lost time to make up,” you answer back cheekily. Finding your answer satisfactory, Shadow encapsulates your lips in a kiss. Starting slow, pacing yourselves, enjoying the moment.
Minuscule moans fill the silence here and there as the pace picks up. Wanting more contact, your hands struggle against Shadow’s grip. One hand lets go to snake under your shirt and massage your breast. The other adjusts to keep both of your wrists down.
So much stimulation but none quite what your body aching for. Legs squirm, complaining about the lack of attention on your bottom half. Your hips arch up, drawing out a guttural moan from Shadow. As you two part, a single string of saliva bridges the gap. He hushes you, “Behave and sit pretty. You can do that, right?”
Entranced, you simply nod your head.
“Good. I promise I’ll take care of you,” Shadow whispers, pecking your cheek. A kiss is pressed to your neck, your throat, collarbone. One after the other, he leaves a trail of kisses leading all the way down to your abdomen.
The smell of your cunt already abuses Shadow’s nose. Hunger grows within him. Patience is a virtue; however, nothing will stop this unholy night. A finger hooks to the hem of your underwear. Delicately Shadow pulls them down, stopping inches from revealing your clit. His lips encapsulates the bud, giving it a gentle suck and a flick of his tongue. A quiet gasp is pulled from you. From there he rips off the thin fabric, tossing it off the bed carelessly.
“Hey! That was my favorite pair!” You complained in a huff.
Teeth graze your inner thighs, causing them to quiver with anticipation. Your concern about the small fabric disintegrated by a simple act. A low feint chuckle can be heard if you listened closely. The underside of your knees are propped up over Shadow’s shoulder after he pulls you down closer by the hip bones. A nip near your pussy elicits a squeal of pain mixed with pleasure. Just as you were about to playfully scold Shadow, a drawn out moan fills the bedroom. His tongue dances over your clit. With each suck, your back arches, chasing his lips. Claws dig into your flesh, drawing little beads of blood. A silent command telling you to hold still.
“Shaaaadow~!” You cry out. So many sensations tingling your skin.
He backs off for a moment, blowing onto the folds of your pussy. Instinctively your knees buckle together.
A quiet, “Hnph,” signals Shadow’s satisfaction in teasing you.
It couldn’t be helped. He’s so aggressive, intending to devour you. Tension builds up in your torso but not quite close to snapping. The folds of your pussy spread as Shadow’s tongue slides up the slit and enters. Drinking up every drop of nectar.
Meanwhile, his bottom half has been busy, rubbing itself against the mattress in a steady rhythm. Every time Shadow got close, he would cease his movements for a second before continuing. All of his cum was going to go inside you.
Time is at a standstill, staring at the bedroom wall. You concentrate on the assault his mouth is currently conducting. Hands cling onto the sheets for dear life as you try to obey Shadow.
“Ah— ah.. please..” you manage out, nearly breathless. He pauses. Darkened eyes look up, waiting for you to continue with your train of thought. The loss of contact allows cold air to hit your cunt.
“Please, what?” Shadow asks politely as if he wasn’t just nose deep in you, “What is it that you need?”
“I need more.. more friction”
Now towering over you, your legs are nearly pressed to your chest. His hands propped on either side of your head, supporting his weight. Shadow’s cock effortlessly sliding between your labia “Mmnh. You’re going to have to elaborate more than that.”
This fucker. Teasing your entrance. One fell swoop and it’ll go right in. Your pussy clenches nothing at the thought, bringing attention of just how empty you are. “Need more.. more friction, please. I need you inside. Please, Shadow.”
“Your wish is my command, darling.”
You should have known better to think he was going to start fucking you. No surprise that Shadow travels back down, sliding a single digit in. You can feel his smug grin against your sex when you hissed out of disappointment. Another finger is added in, curling against your walls. Shadow’s free hand splays atop your belly.
Oh, how your pussy glistened with your arousal. Sweet nectar drip onto the mattress, creating a lovely pool. It might stain after tonight. Your needy cunt clenches around his fingers. That familiar tension rises back up as Shadow sucks and French kisses your clit. So red, puffy, and sore. He’s absolutely proud of his work.
Before you knew it, praises began to tumble out. Your hand reaches down to grab Shadow’s hand, holding it tight. Legs quiver as his hand picks up the pace. A third finger slides in easily. Stars enter the edge of your vision. The familiar bedroom ceiling now turning into a night sky.
“Love, you’re going to crush my hand,” he laughs. His ministrations continue while he rises up to lay next to you. Both of his legs capturing one of your thighs. “Keep them open for me.”
Arms reach underneath, pulling Shadow into a hug. You beg and plead him, “I’m close— I’m so close. Shadow I’m going to cum. Fuck, let me cum please.” When your nails dig into his back, a pleasureful growl bubbles up from his throat. In efforts to silence it, Shadow’s lips crash into yours. The taste of your slick swirling around.
Your hips erratically buck into his fingers, chasing that high. Like a mirror shattering into a million pieces, you had come undone. Screams of ecstasy reaches the heavens even with your teeth buried into Shadow’s neck. Wet slapping follows suit as he guides you through your climax. “Music to my ears. Ah, you’ve done such a good job,” Shadow whispers into your ear, slowing down his movements but not quite stopping. Tears nearly form from the overstimulation. To let him know, you whimper, “Too much”, into his chest, nuzzling in.
When Shadow pulls out, a pathetic mewl escapes past your lips. Already, you miss the warm feeling in your pussy. He brings up his sodden fingers and licks it clean before lifting your chin up to give you another taste. During this little break Shadow’s giving you, a warm palm caresses your cheek, lightly stroking it.
“You better not be tired, yet. I’m not done with you”
Caged below his body, his cock, seeping with precum rests on the low part of your belly. Even though your body is still recovering, it can’t help but shake in anticipation.
A sticky trail leads down to your entrance. The tip just barely prodding the entrance. Your hips instinctively want squirm, allowing it in. Looks like Shadow noticed as well, because he backed away just out of reach. He wants you bad; however, watching your cute little face twist out of frustration was simply too entertaining.
Here you thought that Shadow would be the impatient one, waiting so long to fuck your brains out. How the hell has he been able to keep it together now that finally got what he needed? Well, Shadow’s mind has been teetering on the edge. Holding it together long enough so you’re also enjoying it too. Not only mindless fucking to reach his objective. You’re not merely a means to an end.
“There’s only two things you need to remember, okay? My name, and that you’re mine.” To emphasize the last two words, Shadow slams his cock in one fell swoop.
Once again his claws sink into the sheets and mattress below, unable to contain his fervor. Because your cunt didn’t have enough time to adjust and accommodate Shadow’s length, it squeezes him tight. The sensation was not unwelcome. Pain and pleasure dancing in a delicate tango.
A long breathy moan is accompanied by his own animalistic growl. He does his best in earnest to stay still, savoring the way your pussy stretched and clenched around his cock. “Fuck you’re so good to me,” he moans, “You don’t know how much I wanted you— needed you.”
Shadow’s hips slowly pull back just to thrust deep into you again. The sudden motion causes you to grip tightly onto forearms. Your head tosses back with a gasp.
It felt like you were made for him. Made for each other. He starts to pump into you. Ass bouncing from the force. Shadow’s gaze never leaves your face. Every little expression you make, he commits to memory. The way you have to keep prying your eyes off of his to keep from being hypnotized, entranced. When you bite the inside of your lip or open your mouth for a silent cry of pleasure. Your eyes squeezing shut and brows knitting together, as you violently turn your head from hitting that right spot.
Not enough. Not enough. Not enough!
Your ear is captured between his lips, nibbling and sucking on it. The sensation tickles. You giggle, finally letting out that breath you’ve been unconsciously holding. Shadow whispers into your ear, “Good.. make sure you’re breathing. I’m going to pull you in closer, okay?”
Your hands are removed from him as he sits up for a moment to adjust. In order to gain better access, you are folded up into a proper mating press. Legs hooked onto the crook of Shadow’s arms. Knees on either side of your head.
The new angle allows him to hit you deeper and with the way your hips are positioned will perfectly hold his cum in. Mercilessly, Shadow pounds into your little hole. Despite his best efforts to redirect his fangs, they continue to land on multiple spots along your collarbone and neck. Bruises and bite marks for everyone to see who you belong to.
With each thrust, his dick kisses your cervix.
It’s a good thing you didn’t live in an apartment, but you were sure the neighbors across the street could hear your screams of euphoria.
You looked so lovely. Heavenly, even. Shadow wonders how he was able to snag an angel like you. Those three little words, Shadow doesn’t say them often enough as he thinks he should. You understand. His actions speak volumes much louder.
At the pace Shadow is going at, he’s not going to last very long. Judging by the way your face is scrunched up and the tension in your nether regions, you’re in the same boat.
“Relax. Cum for me, my love.”
That’s all it took for you to unravel once again. Shadow is pulled in for a tight embrace as you call out his name, telling him how much you love him. Your sweet words melt his heart.
Trembling, quaking, your orgasm rips through your body while Shadow continues to snap his hips, his own climax following close behind. If you weren’t so cock drunk, you’d have heard “I love you” tumble from your partner. Words that come out of your mouth are no longer coherent but rather a giant babbling mess. Your cunt milks every single drop his cock has to offer. His movements slow down.
Shadow’s body isn’t satisfied. Even if he wanted to, his hips won’t stop. Not until he drowns your cervix in hot sticky cum. Filled to the brim until it starts leaking out even with his dick plunged deep in.
“You’re mine. All mine.”
Round one of many.

Hey! Saw your requests are open. If you havent been overwhelmed eith asks I have one for Yandere Shadow if you're interested, if not you're fine!!
What about a Yandere Shadow and Sonic with an S/O who's extremely affectionate and overprotective? BUT, as a twist, They're this way with everyone they care about. They just have a lot of love to give❤️
(Bonus headcanon that Eggman targets them first in fights because his robots literally cant get anywhere near anyone else due to how protective they can be of others. They focus on others so much they forget they might also be targetted)
A/n: idk how long this was in my inbox for
Yandere Shadow/Sonic x Overprotective, Affectionate Reader
Tumblr media
Shadow:
Shadow isn't used to the kind of affection you give, not from anyone. He wasnt quite used to affection to mych at all. Not after Maria at least.
You're the type to wrap your arms around people in your life without a second thought, ruffle their hair, or reassure them with kind words whenever they’re feeling down.
At first, he thought this affection was only for him. The way you’d stand beside him in fights, ready to shield him from harm despite your lack of superhuman abilities, left him both confused and, strangely, touched.
But then, Shadow began to notice a pattern.
You weren't just protective of him. You were protective of everyone you cared about. Whether it was Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or even strangers in trouble, you'd throw yourself into the way to ensure no one got hurt.
Your willingness to put others first was respectable, but it also infuriated Shadow.
Didn’t you realize how reckless it was? Did you think anyone else deserved your warmth and care the way he did?
Shadow tried to reason with himself. He knew your affection was genuine and that your overprotective tendencies came from a place of love.
Still, that jealousy in his chest clawed at him every time he watched you worry and fuss over someone else.
His thoughts turned darker as he began to wonder if maybe he needed to teach you to focus that energy solely on him...
It wasn’t unusual for Eggman to target the people Shadow cared about, but this time, Eggman targeted you first.
Shadow’s blood boiled when he realized why. Your protective nature made you an obstacle to Eggman’s plans, your sheer determination to shield others from harm meant that his robots couldn’t get anywhere near his intended targets. And worse, your focus on others left you vulnerable.
Shadow was livid. Not at you, but at the world. How dare anyone put you in danger?
You were so busy worrying about others that you forgot to worry about yourself. He decided right then and there that he'd do whatever it took to keep you safe, even if that meant keeping you away from everyone else.
In the days that followed, Shadow became even more possessive. He started hovering closer during battles, stepping in before you had the chance to protect someone else. If you tried to shield Sonic or Tails, Shadow would pull you back with a firm grip, glaring at whoever dared to draw your attention.
"You can't keep doing this," he’d say in a stern voice. "You're going to get yourself hurt. Let me handle it."
At home, Shadow became even clingier. He didn't like how much energy you gave to others, so he made it his mission to monopolize your time.
Every moment spent with him was another moment you couldn’t be out there, being with someone else.
Still, he couldn't completely suppress his jealousy. The way you’d light up when hugging someone else made his fists clench.
Your constant reassurances that you had enough love to go around only made him more determined to make you see that he deserved all of it.
"Why do you waste your time on people who can’t protect themselves? They donct deserve what you give them. I'm the one who'll keep you safe, not them"
Sonic:
Sonic's usually not the biggest fan on being the receiving end of affection, but when it comes to you, he loves it. In fact, he thrives on it.
You're always ready with a hug, a playful nudge, or words of encouragement that make his heart race faster than his feet.
At first, he thought you were just that way with him, and he basked in the attention.
But Sonic quickly realized that you didn’t just have love for him. You had love for everyone.
You'd throw yourself in front of Tails to block an incoming attack, fuss over Amy if she got a scratch, or rush to Knuckles aid whenever he bit off more than he could chew.
Your boundless compassion for others left Sonic respecting you even more, but it also left him feeling insecure.
As confident as Sonic was in his abilities, he couldn’t shake the fear that someone else might steal your affection.
He wanted to be the one you turned to, the one you prioritized above all else. But your overprotective tendencies meant that you focused on everyone equally, leaving Sonic craving more of your attention.
Then came the day Eggman decided to target you.
It wasn’t hard to see why. You were a force of nature in your own way, your determination to protect others made you a threat to Eggman’s plans. Sonic’s heart dropped when he realized that Eggman saw you as a liability.
The first time one of Eggman’s robots aimed directly for you, Sonic barely managed to stop the attack in time.
"Hey, what were you thinking?!" he scolded, his voice tinged with panic. "You can't keep throwing yourself in the line of fire like that!"
You brushed off his concerns, he did that stuff all the time, why was it any different?
Sonic wanted to argue, but he couldn't bring himself to. Still, he made a silent vow to protect you, even if it meant protecting you from yourself.
Sonic's jealousy is more subtle than Shadow’s, have to keep up the 'perfect hero' act. He'd crack jokes whenever you doted on someone else, masking his unease with humor. But if someone started to take over your time, Sonic wouldn’t hesitate to intervene, dragging you away with some flimsy excuse.
Despite his possessiveness, Sonic would never stop loving your affectionate nature. It's part of what makes you, you. But he’d do everything in his power to ensure that your love didn’t come at the cost of your safety, even if it meant keeping you closer than you’d like.

Summery: Shadow Purring. That's basically it. You give him head pet's (check out the actual head petting fic if you want more) and he starts purring.
Authors note: Live, laugh, love the person giving the requests ❤️ Hope you enjoy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The evening was quiet, the kind of stillness that only came with the late hours when the world seemed to hold its breath. You lay sprawled out on your bed, Shadow at your side, his crimson eyes half-lidded as he stared at the wall. The soft glow of the moon filtered through the curtains, bathing the room in a gentle silver light.
It wasn’t often that Shadow allowed himself moments like these, where the weight of the world wasn’t pressing on his shoulders.
But tonight, he’d let you pull him into bed, his usual guarded demeanor softening in your presence.
Your hand absentmindedly reached out, fingers brushing through the fur along his quills. It wasn't long ago Shadow had first let you pet him. You felt him stiffen slightly but relaxed into the touch. After a second you feel him turn into the touch more, making him snuggle deeper into your side.
His fur was surprisingly smooth, warm beneath your fingertips, and the steady rhythm of your hand seemed to lull him into a state of calm.
After a few moments, a faint, unfamiliar sound reached your ears. It was subtle at first, a low, rumbling vibration that you almost mistook for distant thunder. But then you realized it was coming from Shadow.
“Are you… purring?” you asked, your voice tinged with surprise.Shadow’s eyes shot open, and he immediately tensed again, the sound cutting off abruptly. “No,” he said quickly, his tone defensive.
You couldn’t help but smile. “You so are,” you teased, resuming your gentle petting. “It’s adorable.”
“It’s not,” he grumbled, but his resolve faltered as your fingers found a particularly sensitive spot near the base of his quills. The low rumble returned, louder this time, and you felt the vibrations through your hand.
“See?” you said softly, your voice filled with affection. “I told you it’s cute.” Shadow didn’t respond, his cheeks faintly flushed as he averted his gaze. But he didn’t stop you, either.
If anything, he seemed to lean into your touch, his usually sharp edges softened in the quiet intimacy of the moment. You continued for a while, your fingers moving in slow, soothing motions.
After a queit moment you lay your head atop his, feeling the soft vibrations coming off him. Your hand drifts downwards towards the undersides of the large tufts of fur and quills on his head.
Shadwo let's out a content sigh at the feeling of your nails gently scratching his scalp. The low rumble of purring makes you smile to yourself. Although you revel at the sound Shadow seems to try and hide his face in your side.
"You know your allowed to enjoy this." The hedgehog grumbles something but you only catch bit. "It's just a sound." His defense his weak and he knows.
You hardly catch what he mumbles under his breath. "It's not like it's voluntary." You let out a high pitched 'Aww' at his words. "Shadow you're adorable and I love you."
You don't have to see his face to know he's flustered, you save him the embarrassment and choose to kiss his forehead instead of call him out.
Adter a minute things queit down, your fingers softly run through the tufts of fur. At times Shadow leans himself into it, the low purrs growing louder depending on where you scratch.
As the night drifted on the sound of his purring filled the otherwise silent room, a steady, comforting rhythm that made your heart swell. When Shadow quiets down, it alerts you of him slipping into sleep.
You smile to yourself at the softness of this rare moment. Laying a kiss to the top of head you let yourself be lulled to sleep along with him.
