Macaque examines the ball.

He tosses it in the air, then catches it. He tosses it at the ground - it makes a tense impact against the floor, popping back up and into his hands as he catches it.

"Yeah, that's fun I guess," he says tossing it behind him, where a shadow-puppet bursts over to catch it. Another juts halfway out the wall, arms formed in a circle - there's no other net, after all.

"I'm an active guy, I'm just not usually a basketball guy in particular."

A third joins in, skidding to a halt as the first one begins dribbling - in frotn, between the legs - it knocks off an attempt to steal.

"I mean, the sport itself is good, it's fun, I'll watch if it's on--"

A fourth emerges, just behind the third, then shifting one way then the next. The third body-blocks the pass

"--but it's not my favorite favorite, y'know?" Macaque's hand rolls. "There's so much out there, it's hard to narrow down just one."

Freedom! there's an opening. First passes to Fourth, Third rushes to follow, but cannot block the shot Fourth makes towards Seconds arms.

Second knocks it away as it hits the elbow, no delicate swish to be imagined.

"And I've only ever played a little bit--"

Third catches the fallen ball. Fourth moves to take, but Third passes to Macaque, who deftly grabs it.

Macaque turns on his heel, darting forward with the ball in his hand, to the floor, then back again. First follows, and when Macaque jumps high to shoot, it leaps in front. But it's fingertips only graze the ball launched over it's head, arcing in the air then falling through the hooped arms with a delicate, clear drop.

Macaque fistpumps. The hoop golf-claps. The dejected First slams an imaginary hat to the floor and Fourth comes forward to comfort him, arm around his shoulders and shaking affirmingly. Third's stomping, whistling, doing small laps - what a terrible sport.

I apologize if I don't get my points across very well (I am very burnt out atm and my speech/communication skills feel more limited than usual)

I just want to yap about how much I think Tobirama absolutely fucks with BDSM. A way for him to destress and let go with strict rules, or to push his own boundaries for the sake of pushing boundaries.

Sensory deprivation can be really nice, tie that man up, cover his eyes and ears and just leave him in a room for several hours. Is it the safest practice? No, but Tobirama doesn't care. He needs a fucking break.

He's such a bratty ass submissive too, not in the 'cute' (subjective) way that is often portrayed when it comes to bratting. He'll pick apart his dominant's methods, question them at every turn. And it isn't even for the sake of receiving punishment, that's just an added bonus.

Tbrm seeking pain stimulus when he's just about had it. Not always being very healthy or rational about it... Hm. Arguing with Madara? Cuts himself off mid sentence with a deep breath and a "I need to be hit". It's not about sexual gratification, it's regulation for him. This is hit or miss, either they'll both just end up even more pissed off at each other, or Tobirama will walk away with his ass and upper thighs aching, Madara with a stinging hand and a shit eating grin.

If he can't receive help regulating from someone else, why not just summon a shadowclone to flog himself? Pain stimulation can be grounding, even if it's not the best, safest, or most sane method, Tobirama finds that it helps.

Madara is the only man who he can go to that matches his fucking freak imo. Even if Madara is perturbed by a certain request, he's going to do it 9 times out of 10. They don't have a safe word, they're not smart, it's either yes let's do it, or absolutely not I will fucking cut your head off if you ever suggest that again. Madara also knows Tobirama well enough to know when he's taking things too far.

it is a little funny how illiterate some anime fans are. Ive been arguing in a tiktok comment section for the last couple months about how its insane that everyone uses shadowclones (or something that acts the exact same with zero drawbacks) later in the story of naruto when the very first introduction to them tells us that its a forbidden jutsu.

people keep trying to say "nuh uh it wasnt" "they literally had to do shadow clones as their first exam wdym" when it takes me like 2 minutes to look up the first chapter and episode to learn that the exam is just regular clones and that they make a point of saying that naruto stole a FORBIDDEN scroll. 2:28 PM Ugh. Yeah, I guess I needed that rest. How long did I sleep? ..where's Donnie?

2:30 PM Downstairs now. The sky outside is blue. A crisp bright Georgia summer blue. This isn't real. Living room. My dad's on his laptop on the couch, typing away at his websites, his horse racing, his lists of movies. I can see through him at an empty dusty couch. The empty space where should just be wall displays a television, with a documentary playing that I'll never watch. Dad doesn't look at me. Because he's not real. He's a shadow. Now there are many shadows on the wall. They aren't connected to the Beast, the man on the corner, the Father my dad. My dad is just another remnant of the Musicians' powers working their way through my mind. I don't see them, and they might have gone on to torment someone else, but their effects linger. The shadows on the wall are different somehow. I think they're really there. They're humanoid and featureless, like Shadowclones but showing no sign of spontaneous reproduction. They are just.. there. Not laughing at me. They stand and sway gently, naturally. Like they were once human. I feel as if these are creatures I cannot name, but still there's a word in my head I can't trace the source of. The Victims. They know me. Something tells me I know them. They know my delusions all too well, and they have seen my nightmares. They live nightmares every day, trapped as eternal shadows. How did they become shadows? That's not clear to me, and they won't say. They can't say. They want to say, I feel as if they might reach out of the walls and grab me by the shoulders, scream the answer to me. But they won't, as they can't. They're shadows. Forever now. All they can do is shift along the walls of our disillusioned daydreams and pray we follow them down the rabbit hole.

2:35 PM They're coagulating around the door to the basement. Is that the rabbit hole? Down the stairs, into the darkness, open the Door, and let’s have a peek.

2:36 PM It’s a courtroom. Huh. Lots of creatures hustle to and fro, animals and man-sized insects, groups of what look like gingerbread men rushing past my feet, everyone has a place to go. Statues along the walls depict something complicated I don't have time to process, as "Mister Dooling?" huh. Someone in a tweed suit and a blindfold beckons me. Who are you? "Call me Sempi. I'm a friend of Father Tiresias. And right now, you very much need a friend." What's happening? "You're on trial." ...what's happening?? "We can't waste time, we've got to get inside."

2:39 PM We've sat down at a bench. This looks like an ordinary enough courtroom, although there's construction going on around the judge's seat. "The Judge wishes to see you." Alright, well, who's the judge? "The Judge is a Fear." A Fear in the rabbit holes? "You'll have time to wonder on the details later. I'm here to make sure you don't do anything stupid." Well. Okay. Thanks? Is he scary? "If you look directly at him, your eyeballs will melt." What? "Also, he knows everything about you. So don't lie." Okay... uh... Is there anything I need to do, in particular? Am I going to jail? "Just..." hand on my shoulder "Stay calm. Okay? Stick with that."

2:45 PM The jury are all Camper, complete with fleshy wings and long arms. The judge is not currently at the stand. The prosecution is just arriving. That. Is some kind of alien. Green, long neck, big black eyes, lots of arms. Sempi's telling me not to stare. Right. Sorry.

2:48 PM "Will everyone please rise for the formidable Judge?" I can hear some sort of noise coming from the judge’s seat that sounds like a cross between a bass guitar making distorted sweeps and the soft pitter-patter of raindrops. Or perhaps popcorn. But not that loud. ..rice krispies. I really want to look. A Camper looked. His eyes are now being coated in a skin-coloured substance. The substance slowly burns away, and now all that are left are empty eye sockets. Not even a scream.

2:49 PM "COURT IS IN SESSION." the voice is thundering and makes my bones twitch with odd high frequencies "I HAVE A LOT TO GO THROUGH TODAY, SO LET'S MAKE THIS AN EXPEDIENT ONE. Donnie says she understands, but, I think she's getting a little sick of backing me up. She must be. So we're taking the car, we're getting the hell out of here. I've had enough of Georgia. I see you've also met the Archangel, the Musicians... Tiresias... and the Judge. You've met a lot now." A lot of them meet us, really… "You've made some questionable decisions in all this. I wouldn't advise making so many enemies." Well... ^^;; "But your work with the Ciphers is promising. That's the best lead so far." I was told I may have, um.. done something really bad? By destroying the God Machine? "You may have. Or you may have just attracted the wrong kind of attention, which would make sense if these Ciphers are the key to preventing the terminal coming of Rapture." But you don't want us making so many enemies? "As far as I see it, Rapture is already our enemy. And, furthermore, any wrench in the system will either help us, or at least teach us something about how our enemy works. So even if you fail catastrophically, you'll be doing the world a favor." Um. donnie "We'd rather not have to die." "Of course. In any case, your plan is to head further west?" Yeah. ...wait. ...should I have not shown you my journals? "It was, by all measures, another strange decision on your part. I thank you for trusting me, as I benefit from it, but should you trust me? I don't know how to answer that." donnie "Are you a threat to us? Are you going to hurt us?" "I have no reason to. You're just two additional bodies, and any knowledge I may gain from your brains generally already finds its way to me thanks to your indiscretion." Well. Thanks..? "Please. Now, I encourage your westward progress. There are still plenty of Doors, allowing search for the remaining Ciphers, and furthermore, you will end up near California." What's in California? "Someone else claiming to know you. It is primarily a trend of graffiti, all in the same hand, asking for your whereabouts by name. I have not yet seen the source of this. I can look into it further, if you wish?" Would. Would that trouble you? I'd appreciate the help. "I will look into it further." … "That's all." ...o_o

11:46 PM Uh. Yeah. We're driving on. The Camper was just.. standing there, by the pond, outside the house. We didn't want to sleep in that house. ...god, that was weird. God, today was weird. America, you're weird. Nebraska. California. Right. We can do this.

Timetravel Fun: Teaching

Okay, so I know I've already rambled about my timetravel thoughts in other posts, BUT! I'm continuing to think about the potential Timetravel Fic with Kakashi and what would happen if he got Minato's half of Kuruma.

Anyway, part of timetravel fun is also to imagine what Kakashi would change as a teacher for Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke the second time around. To start with Kakashi would probably give them more focused training, and keep missions to 1-2 time(s)/week. (They'd only get D-Missions within the village at the beginning anyway). A good potential set-up could be to do individual training during the morning, and then group-training in the afternoons.

So, Team 7 at 12y old, fresh out of the academy.

Naruto's weaknesses is basically that he was neglected and not taught enough by the adults around him. He portrayed as a bit dumb early on, but honestly? A lot of that can be blamed on the fact Naruto was a high-energy child desperate for acknowledgement who simply wasn't taught enough from the teachers. Keep in mind, Iruka was Naruto's hometeacher - but that doesn't mean Iruka was Naruto's ONLY teacher. (Iruka was great but not perfect. Still, no blame on him. He can't teach Naruto EVERYTHING).

Hell, no one understood Naruto had trouble with the basic jutsu(s) at the academy because they used too little chakra - and he had a LOT of it, which also made it difficult to control the vast amount. This would obviously not be the same in a time-travel fic, at least not to the same extent, but it's still something to take into account since Kakashi was only 14y old when Naruto was born and likely would be unable to (officially) adopt him. Naruto's social skills suffered greatly from not being able to have friends as well, as often seen in his earlier years with how he handles his interactions with Sakura - his crush. So Kakashi basically getting Naruto some playdates would probably help Naruto's social skills a lot.

At the other hand Naruto's biggest strength is his stubbornness to never give up, but also his massive chakra reserves. In a time-travel scenario Kakashi would also be able to take advantage of Naruto's shadowclones to teach him things quicker, just like Kakashi originally did when he taught Naruto how to evolve the Rasengan.

So, to start I'd like to think Kakashi uses at least one or two of Naruto's clones to read up on academy stuff he never learnt/remembered, but Kakashi would also teach Naruto a new jutsu or two.

I feel Rasengan should still be Jiraiya's jutsu to teach, but Kakashi teaching Naruto something like "Wind Release: Air Bullets" would pair nicely with Naruto's shadowclones. (Just imagine the damage from +10 clones shooting off air bullets at the same time!) . It's an attack which wouldn't be too overpowered at the same time as it can gradually grow in strength as Naruto becomes stronger. It would also give Naruto a ranged attack, which means Naruto isn't forced to ONLY rely on clones and brute force early on.

Kakashi having Minato's half of Kuruma also gives him an opportunity to nudge Naruto in the right direction of getting to know Kuruma much earlier - not to mention getting Naruto to ask "the Kyuubi" what his name is. Heck, Kakshi might even be able to go with Naruto and visit Kuruma together in the mindscape because of the new connection, starting the process of getting to know each other much earlier.

So, Sakura then. Her weakness (at 12y old) was mainly taijutsu/physical and low chakra reserve. In theory she already knew a lot of jutsus, but we never really get to see her use a lot of them early on because of her low levels of chakra - and later she's the healer and not really supposed to shoot off too many jutsu(s) left & right in case she needs to heal someone.

On the bright side Sakura was already really smart at 12y old though, as evident when she scored among the highest in the academy. (Probably part of why many people like to dive deeper into her friendship with Shikamaru in fics, too). In order to grow your chakra reserves you basically need a lot of physical and mental training, so I think Sakura's reserves would naturally build up a lot once she gets some strict taijutsu training from Kakashi. She already has the knowledge - she just needs the physical abilities to back them up.

As for jutsu(s), I'm not taking away Sakura's medical training away from Tsunade, but Kakashi could still teach Sakura how to fight with that tight chakra control towards her hands/feet in order to land harder hits. Kakashi originally figured Sakura would lean more towards genjutsu, but in timetravel I'm pretty sure Kakashi wouldn't mind letting her focus on taijutsu instead, with perhaps knowing 1-2 genjutsus as back-up. Focusing on taijutsu works well to prepare for the future training with Tsunade, too.

Also, Kakashi has always had a soft spot for Sakura. For the timetravel I'm thinking Kakashi can let Sakura sign a contract with his dog summons. (It's already proven you can have more than one contract, so this wouldn't stop Sakura from signing with Lady Slug later on). Not only would it give them a way to communicate if Kakashi and the kids got separated on a mission, but adding some extra tracking and protection abilities to the team wouldn't hurt. I'm also thinking Kakashi could teach her "Earth Release: Rock Shelter" or "Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall". It'd add an defensive touch to the team and balance her focus on taijutsu.

Lastly, Sasuke. He's a difficult one, because many of his strengths AND weaknesses depends on how much is changed in the time-travel. Because Sasuke's strength mainly comes from the fact he has previous experience - he was trained (mainly by Itachi & his dad, by the looks of it), not to mention Sasuke also trained a lot by himself, even before he entered the academy. The trauma of having his entire clan killed also meant Sasuke was highly motivated to become stronger as an individual, but not very focused on becoming friends with the rest of his team. If Kakashi manages to change the time-line enough that the clan is spared, or at least more members survive, Sasuke would no longer have the same early motivations. Not to mention Kakashi already knows the truth of Itachi.

Still, I'd like to think Kakashi waits with teaching Sasuke the Chidori this time around - at least until he knows for sure he has changed enough of the timeline that Sasuke will no longer feel the need to abandon Konoha. It's also worth taking into account Sasuke originally awakened his sharingan when his clan was killed and re-awakened it in the first fight against Haku, so depending on how much the time-line is changed there would also need to be a new event where Sasuke actually awakens his sharingan. (Aka, Sasuke wouldn't even be ABLE to use Chidori until he awakens the sharingan). Still, wouldn't be too difficult to make an event which causes a near-death or a situation where Sasuke thinks Kakashi or one of his friends dies.

With that said Sasuke's main issue is team-work (hopefully to an lesser extent in a timeline where the Uchiha clan survives), so a lot of focus would probably be put on that. Sasuke already knows a lot of ninjutsu and taijutsu by the time he graduates from the academy anyway, so Kakashi might just teach Sasuke a better fire-jutsu or fuuinjutsu instead.

Obviously I'd like to think Kakashi is able to save Sai (& Shin? Though Idk how possible it is since Shin was sick too) and Tenzo/Yamato too much earlier too, even though Kakashi wouldn't become their sensei. It's still possible Kakashi can argue for them to be added to his team though.

Something like: "Sai is better placed with a real team (aka, theirs) to help him re-adjust to a normal life in Konoha quicker", and Yamato should be an easy argument with +2 Jinchuuriki in the team. Another possibility, assuming Kakashi is 18 (again) at this point, is to claim Sai as a ward of the Hatake clan. Sai is the same age as Neji/Lee/Tenten rather than Naruto/Sasuke/Sakura, but it'd be really funny to see a 13y old Sai interact with the 12y old Team 7. x)

Anyway, in general I think Kakashi would do a much better job at teaching the second time around. Not only has he already processed a lot of his trauma at that point, but he would also have more actual teaching experience.
