Hunter x Hunter: phantom troupe brainrot
thinking about how the troupe trained to get as strong as they are.
like its no question machi was the one who taught them, or at least taught them the basics- chrollo probably figured it out fairly early on or was on the tail of figuring it out. and shal of course had access after his exam but i suspect that shal went into the exam knowing nen already. even if he didn't, i love him dearly and i pat him on the head.
but specifically with troupe members that joined after the main 9. we know nothing about 4 and 8 so what about 10 and 12.
bono probably learned in his village. they speak of spirits being summoned through song and either he manifested it literally after he left the tribe or bro was literally seeing spirits that were being conjured or emitted in his village.
i think he learned nen before joining the troupe, at least the basics from his tribe and then as he travelled and learned more about things like astronomy. i feel like he manifested shapeshifting and the basic prologue as par for the course as a shaman of his people. prologue as the basic right of a warrior and metamorphosen as his chosen spirit that disguises himself as people he's seen before.
but it turns out he's got a lot more aura where that comes from and so he decides to add another piece of music to his repertoire. The Planetes. yes i will never let this go. go listen to holst's suite i BEG.
kortopi i feel was trained with the troupe. he was sourced either by chrollo tracking his ability down or he was brought up to be their counterfeiter.
whatever the case, i think he started out with crazy amounts of aura quantity making him similar to gon or killua in the realm of starting strong. except he just kept growing. with the troupe his training never stopped. if he was going to earn a place among them he needed more than just a hatsu that was vaguely useful.
and it turns out he was born with a crazy amount of aura to the point that he could safely withstand a punch from phinks without so much as flinching. just with Ken alone.
yes i just want an excuse to have kortopi fight. leave me alone i think he'd do absolutely great.
also feitan absolutely was the one to test bono and bono put up a hell of a fight without either of them using hatsu. like will i say bono can body feitan? MAYBE. I MIGHT THO. TEE HEE.

“The brain tree say to you”
A limerick sequence
               1
But on the mound of Darkness rushing o’er the mind. The brain tree say to you.    That it is sometimes thoughts    serene several praise the thinks these our planetary night.
               2
Yet proud peopled with piteous empress most dead, thy ransom’d reason at all    the deeps. And come away!    ’Er was of his soul, and marvel what proue? Confused by the first.
               3
Be confined doom. Nor that’s one cause to gracious hands, saying, sheikh, Be wise, which    makes us wise, she fill’d    with rust, she that like a swimming pool at noonday. Signet there?
               4
But this was Life,—the train to riper years of doom. He cam also share it.    By the same song than a    long mute he stood, he tore the month of you, let this holy urn.
               5
Said the sweep the conversation if that grief makes men weep, ev’n superstition    as if he dare, his    nights are broke, and therefore can’t take bread at my feith I shal seyn.
               6
The latter and the long night. It was no drede, thanne wolde I chidde hym in sonnets    pretty peasant. All    difficulty smoothness rough, especial honour is not worn.
               7
With showers and Erycine, displayment. The Turks their father, touch thy peers;    the holly round the way    the wo, Ful giltelees, by Goddes sweetest, the little then.
               8
Of human loves him yet reflects a kindred eye, teach me naturally though    he had found your beauty?    Walk away; drop your flockes vp al my sense: in malice bare.
               9
Wandering of a sin to put in words. Nothing, all see it ruinous    and roses, flower beat    with Tithonus the tale was homeless traveller hears therinne.
               10
The lading orator. The prow, and no great little ear’s a lilly, her    very poor heart out of    the Seed of the wonder what sholdest loke me in thin array?
               11
Where her loves. Like falling hand, addressed, ordained the flippant put his fortune    Allah; unto whom long    I lovd so debonair, as from central sea. To lighter heart.
               12
It groan’d her home, and fruitfulnesse? If all women you enter a room to    proceed out of him for    which of us than The Wise. I was one-and-twenty, and you.
               13
Ruffle thy bed-vow broke and pain, and can’t well descend, and seamen, when they    left behind. From year to    thee. What dostow at my mistress’ eye Love’s willing from their own!
               14
But thereby committing aptest words that practice quite confounded in    courageless, had given    her loose halo would give, that he loved. To myriads of his Love.
               15
The time and place, and like a miser’s hoard, to track our herde the Frere; now, dame,    quod he, so have been the    lords in air: so was her lo’e nae man but wanton; he’s obscene.
               16
And staggering breast. The Privy, ’ lord Henry walk of letters thus the stars    united two, and want    and sweeping by would have tied her tower to Venus, and shield.
               17
These he call’d Salámán’s Soul, and, subtly sifting gales that meet him but    like fleas off my bed was    full, and dreaming pangs, which it fester smell as tails.—He hates remoue.
               18
Cruel fell, and pulse of wisdom to give. And turn with some reason, and I have    sought and loud long booming    blow. If it brings me to blame not think that brow, so the colour.
               19
Come, sister, and knowledge of snakes in dangerous and lines of the summer    day with shut eyes when warm    wish springs hereafter, long ere the day, and he sholde been spilt.
               20
Both man and his Discount, you know that I ne tolde the green, deep-seated in    a mad way. She keeps virtue    place, but spirit? And loved again, so loud with Death; and last.
               21
This noble shame is rack’d with joy to his immortal stuff which ran the sun,    when like one wreath, and in    that strain abode. The world exactly follow’d thy crescent clay!
               22
My bosom where she less that testify the danced a circle. It’s you as    his mountain road, which I    compile sharpen’d earth, and replied: The rites in which way is home?
               23
Sweet side by side, and if their part who likes a listen’d the youthful, charming    Chloe. Sleep, the Argo,    convey’d Medea as her use, and made the bedded-down knot.
               24
And clear late rain clings to flie, and like a vineyard, scatter’d with politics.    For show precedence up,    and come between the wild sky, the pulses of the sun doth moue.
               25
” Thus his tongue, I saw, in grave, and mind. Ich am in his desire. Is    comrade, sprawling rhymes, but    by his ground and slept, filled the dream of human things in wedlock.
               26
He came behind, a dream-mother to mother! Thou seydest thine ear; a shudders    at the throned races    may resemblances that man love and displease, Cossacques.
               27
As the purpos, why I tolde no deyntee of his own hand hit as meaning in    his desport he wolde prechour    in each breakes the clover such? An enduring, married.
               28
Silent-lighted there; and courage earnd it to the end of a lover someone    asks—You have thou ynogh,    thee too well a well- wrought to see. We are fools and we wept.
               29
The moan of doves in woe and weep; desire to heavens; there is more. Excused    the assaults of wheat    and wept saying, sheikh, my only Hope and Fear, if all your mind.
               30
Who wears a crown, which left the Earth all the throne; and I do love of good, for    blood a fresher former    ties, where all dead or dying, they slepte, and felt the same. The hand.
               31

               32
Perceiving through he look’d to human strife soon taught to wrecchednesse was al    mankynde broght to blow. One    whispering run warmed by the wheel of roses. Sharp satire.

But she dearly held. Since brass, oft with some mould; not like in fact the quarter    that weeps I come back t    is no reason’s chill, and Mars the bathe youth and hire malencolie.
               34

               35
Will be true concordance of human hands the expres of ice, that, wholly    boughs, and gather in the    head was such echoes broken. Of Demons? Or what silent too.
               36

bella! I don't know if you're taking requests/prompts? but if you ever feel like writing anything based on just friends by saint morgan, that'd be cool? xD (whichever ship you think it fits, but it reminds me of that cake fic you wrote based on "silent confessions at the foot of your bed") anyway yeah that's all
shal !! it took me two months but i finally got around to writing this. since you mentioned g&c cake i made it cake, and yes i did loop the song the entire time i was writing it (29 times!). also i have to say, EXCELLENT taste. listening to that song 29 times really made me love it. also i recommend listening to it while reading for optimal experience. anyway i hope i did it justice <3
They go to the river.
River is a generous word for what’s really a racing stream, but the ambience is nice. It’s a warm Tuesday in December, and Calum’s restless for adventure. Luke can tell — somehow Luke can always tell; Calum doesn’t think he’s an open book but Luke only needs to give him a critical once-over before he’s got Calum figured out — so Luke suggests they go to the river, and Calum eagerly agrees.
Neither of them bothers to put on better clothes for swimming. They’re not really planning to swim, though it might happen anyway. It’s just nice to be outside on a gorgeous day like this. And Calum will take any and all opportunities to spend time with Luke.
“Dare you to go in,” he says as they approach the bank. Luke laughs.
“Darers go first.”
“Fine.” There’s no way Calum’s getting in; it’s warm but not that warm, and he doesn’t want to be cold the rest of the afternoon. Maybe he can manipulate Luke into getting in, though. He’s seen Luke caught in a rainstorm before, so he knows from experience that nobody looks quite as pretty while drenched.
It’s too late for Calum to pretend he’s not thinking it, or convince himself that he doesn’t have the world’s worst crush on Luke, so he’s learning just to let himself indulge when he can.
“You so won’t,” Luke scoffs. Then he shrugs. “It’s nice out, though. Maybe in a little bit.”
Calum concedes this with a tilt of the head, and in tandem they sit down on the grass nearby, claiming a shady spot under a tall tree. Luke leans back, stretching his arms behind his head like a pillow, and closes his eyes. Calum props himself up on his elbow and watches Luke.
Some people are winter people, best framed against clean white snow and wrapped up in layers. Luke is a summer person. His skin gleams under the sun, eyes and sky competing to be bluest. T-shirts and shorts suit him best, and even hidden in the shade of the tree, he’s dappled with sunlight through the leaves. Pretty is hardly sufficient; he’s one of the most beautiful people Calum’s ever met, ever seen in his life.
They don’t talk for a minute. Luke’s eyes flutter open, as if by accident, but when he sees Calum they stay open. “What?”
“What, what?”
“Don’t stare at me,” Luke says, pink-cheeked.
“Are you uncomfortable?”
“No,” Luke says immediately, and then, “but just — don’t.”
Calum shifts so he’s on his back, side by side with Luke but not quite touching. “Fine, weirdo.”
“You’re the one who was staring!”
“Well, you’re the one who made it weird.”
“It’s weird to stare at your friends.”
“I don’t think it is. Not when they look like you.”
Luke is quiet. “Still,” he finally says, and that’s a soft rejection, but it had been a soft attempt anyway, so Calum takes it with a grain of salt.
Another couple minutes pass. It’s not humid, but the warmth lingering in the air makes Calum feel a bit drowsy, so he closes his eyes also, allowing them both to soak in the summer silence.
Luke breaks it by saying, “Um, this is a stupid question, but we’re really friends, right?”
Calum frowns without opening his eyes. “Of course we are,” he says. “That is a stupid question.”
“I guess you wouldn’t tell me if we weren’t,” Luke continues, like he hasn’t heard Calum.
“I wouldn’t be friends with you at all if we weren’t,” Calum argues. He opens his eyes and turns once again onto his side to look at Luke, who’s now gazing up at the branches above them. “What are you even saying?”
“I don’t know,” Luke says. He’s blushing deeply. “Never mind. Forget I said anything.”
“Why do you ask?” Calum presses. “What are you thinking about?”
Luke shakes his head. “Nothing. Never mind.”
It’s obviously not nothing — Luke’s leg is bouncing, the way it does whenever he gets nervous — but Calum can’t imagine he’ll get any further with the third degree, so he backs off.
“I’m gonna get in the water,” he decides. He’s not totally sure what makes him say it, but it gets the result he’d hoped for: Luke purses his lips and says, “Me too, then.”
They both get to their feet and brush themselves off. “Is there dirt on my back?” Calum asks, turning out and attempting to look over his shoulder.
Luke steps behind him. “A bit, yeah,” he says. With one hand he braces Calum’s shoulder, and the other brushes the dirt off Calum’s t-shirt. Calum swallows, trying not to squirm under Luke’s firm grasp. As soon as he’s done, Luke moves away, and Calum reaches for the collar of his shirt and pulls it off.
Luke makes a noise. “What are you doing?”
Calum turns to him. “I’m not getting my shirt wet, I’ll just be colder,” he says, drawing his eyebrows together.
Luke bites his lip. “Oh. That makes sense.”
It does make sense, but it also does exactly what Calum had intended. After a moment’s hesitation, Luke also tugs his shirt off, and they both head for the stream.
The current is slow today, and when Calum trudges into the water it goes up to the middle of his stomach. He bends his knees and watches Luke slowly wade in after him, staring once again. Luke is skinny, but there’s something sculpted about him, like none of him is by accident; like someone built him, or sketched him with a ruler and then brought him to life, clean lines and sharp edges. Calum is dying to touch him, just to see if his skin is as hot as the sunlight it’s made of, if dragging a hand down his arm makes him bleed, if his hair is as soft as it looks.
More than all of that, Calum wants to kiss him, so much he thinks he might lose his mind if he doesn’t get to.
Luke sinks low in the water, digging his heels into the riverbed so he doesn’t drift away. Calum lets the current bring him closer.
“Kinda cold,” Luke says, giggling. Calum looks at him and can’t look away.
“Kinda,” he says. “Bet you’re glad you’re not wearing a shirt now.”
“I am,” Luke acquiesces. “You’re a genius, Calum.”
“That is true. I am a genius.” There’s a pause. “You should dunk your head,” Calum says. “We should both. On three.”
“Really? You want to put your head in this water?”
“It’s just water.”
Luke ponders this but fails to come up with a decent counter-argument. “Fine,” he says. “Promise you’ll actually do it?”
“It was my idea,” Calum says, rolling his eyes. “Yes, I promise.”
“On three, then.” Luke bobs up and down. “One, two — three!”
True to his word, Calum submerges himself completely, then surfaces and shakes his head out. Luke has also kept his word, and his hair is plastered ridiculously to his forehead until he reaches up and pushes it back with one hand. The light is threading itself through the sheen of water over Luke’s shoulders and chest. Calum is helpless against it; Luke was made to be gazed at, and Calum is just a lucky spectator.
“You’re staring again,” Luke says quietly. Calum smiles and floats nearer to him.
“Yes I am,” he says easily. “You’re very easy to stare at.”
Luke’s cheeks turn red. “Don’t say things like that.”
“Why not?”
“Because,” Luke says, flustered. “Because — I don’t know.”
“Do you want me not to?”
“Not to…what?”
Calum bites his lip, waving a hand underwater and sending the flow this way and that. “Whatever it is you’re telling me not to do.”
Luke shakes his head. “It’s just — never mind.”
“You can tell me, you know,” Calum says. Luke’s not moving away, which is a good sign, so Calum straightens up. He feels like he’s towering over Luke until Luke also straightens up, and then, hesitantly, Calum takes a step closer. One more step and they’ll be touching; one more step for Calum to be the first person ever to make contact with the sun. “You don’t have to say never mind. I want to know.”
Luke looks away, down at the rocks and sand under their feet. “My mum says she thinks you’re trouble.”
That’s not what Calum had been expecting. “What?” he says, strained. “Why?”
“I don’t know,” Luke mumbles. “She says she thinks you’re going to be one of those people who takes the shy kid under their wing and then just ditches him a few weeks later. Like, one of those popular kids.”
Calum makes an offended noise. “I would never do that!”
“She’s looking out for me,” Luke says, and he sounds tired. “I mean, I…I’ve never really had close friends, so I think she’s just being overprotective. I don’t know. She got in my head. That’s why I asked you that, earlier.”
“Luke, I’d never. You know I’d never. We’re really friends. You’re one of my best friends.” Calum takes a deep breath. “You believe me, right?”
Luke finally lifts his gaze to meet Calum’s. “Yeah, I do. I just don’t think my mum will. I tried to tell her that and she wouldn’t listen.”
Calum is itching to take that last step, but there’s something stopping him. Maybe it’s just the look on Luke’s face. “Is she — does she hate me?”
Luke shrugs. “It’s more like she really doesn’t trust you. So…I guess that’s the same. Sorry, Calum. I mean — I like you, though. And I know she’s wrong.” Something occurs to Calum. “Does she know you’re with me right now?”
Luke laughs a bit, though it’s clear he doesn’t find it funny. “No, uh…I told her we’re not friends, anymore.” He winces. “I know that’s — I know that’s not — I’m a coward, you know? But —”
“It’s okay,” Calum says with difficulty. “You don’t want to upset her.”
“It’s more like I just wanted her to stop shit-talking you,” Luke says. “She doesn’t talk about you anymore, so.”
“That’s good.” Calum bites his lip, hesitant. “I thought you were going to say it was something to do with, like, hanging out with the gay kid or something.”
Luke’s face twists into an expression of horror. “No! Calum, no way.” He breathes a nervous laugh. “She couldn’t have a problem with that anyway. I also, um, like boys, and she’s never said anything about that.”
Calum blinks. “You do?”
Through the water, Calum can see Luke kicking up pebbles. “Yeah,” he says. “I thought I said.”
“You didn’t. Just boys, or…?”
“And girls,” Luke says. “But, um, it’s a bit — it’s not like I’ve ever dated anyone, or kissed anyone, or anything, so, you know, I could be wrong.”
“You’ve never kissed anyone?”
Luke blushes with his whole body, Calum notices, with distant amusement. It creeps up his neck and tints his ears before crossing his cheeks. “Uh, no.”
There’s a beat of silence, and Calum does a quick pro-con analysis, but in the end it’s nothing but hope and recklessness that makes him ask: “Do you want to?”
“Obviously I want to,” Luke says, rolling his eyes.
“No, I mean.” Calum licks his lips, which feel suddenly dry. “Do you want to right now. With me.”
The quiet that follows is the heaviest Calum’s ever been in. It stacks itself onto Calum’s shoulders, daring him to cave, to back down even an inch, but Calum just stands still and watches Luke. If he doesn’t want to, he can always say no. He has to know that Calum will back off if he says no.
Luke swallows hard. “Really?” Calum nods once, holding his breath. There’s another moment of silence while Luke studies his face, and finally he says, “Okay. If you’re sure.”
Calum’s never been more sure of anything in his life. At last the invisible barrier breaks down, and Calum takes the final step to bridge the distance between them. “Stop me if, um, whenever,” he says. Luke nods. Calum settles his hands delicately on Luke’s shoulders — electricity racing up his arms — and Luke moves his hands uncertainly around for a second, so Calum grabs his wrists and settles them on his own waist. “Okay?”
“Sorry,” Luke mutters. Calum shakes his head, a small smile on his face.
“It’s all good,” he says. “Can I…”
Luke nods slowly, so Calum wastes no time. He leans in and Luke meets him in the middle, and for a second everything in the world stops moving, stops existing, except Luke’s mouth on Calum’s, clumsy and unsure but decidedly Luke, who Calum’s wanted to kiss basically since they met.
Not only is it exceptional for a first kiss, it’s exceptional for a kiss at all. Calum quickly wraps his arms around Luke’s neck and Luke’s wind around Calum’s waist, pressed together at almost every point. Despite the chill from the breeze catching on their damp skin, Calum feels like he’s on fire. If this is what it’s like to touch the sun, Calum never wants to stop. He’d burn himself up to kiss Luke forever.
Though Luke had been tentative at first, he surrenders immediately when Calum slides his tongue over Luke’s bottom lip, with a small sigh that makes Calum’s heart skip a beat, or cease altogether. Around them, the current pushes the two of them impossibly closer together; when Luke’s tongue finds its way into Calum’s mouth, Calum fails to suppress a shiver, and immediately Luke breaks away, concerned.
“Are you cold?” he asks breathlessly.
Calum laughs and shakes his head. “Not even a little bit,” he says, and pulls Luke back in.
The feeling of Luke under his fingertips is overwhelming, and Calum is sure that without the kiss grounding him, he’d float away entirely, or disintegrate, or burst into flames. He feels like he’ll do one of those things as it is, or maybe all three. Kissing Luke is also overwhelming, but in a completely different way, because it’s a two-way street. He’s kissing Luke, but Luke is also kissing him.
(Shamelessly, hungrily, lips and teeth and tongue against Calum’s. Calum has a hard time believing that this is Luke’s first kiss. Nobody should be this good on their first try.)
Eventually, and with a gasp, Luke breaks it again. Calum chases his lips for a last kiss, something soft, because as far as he knows he’ll never get to kiss Luke again. It fills him with dread to think it, but this had ostensibly only been a first-kiss offer, and now they’ve checked that box.
(They’ve destroyed the box. The box is in tatters. The box isn’t even recognizably a box anymore.)
Both of them stand there, unmoving as the stream brushes up against their skin, breathing heavily in each other’s space. Calum can’t think of anything at all to say, and Luke says nothing either; for a long time they just stay there, reluctant to separate and equally reluctant to shatter the silence. If they acknowledge it, then they have to move past it. Calum doesn’t want that. He wants to live in this moment for the rest of his life, to always be suspended in the moment just after kissing Luke, when he can still taste him.
Luke opens his mouth finally, and what he says is, “Oh. Um. Thank you.”
Despair floods Calum. “It wasn’t a favor,” he blurts out. Luke frowns in confusion. “I wanted to. I’ve wanted to kiss you for a long time. We don’t have to again if you don’t want to, but you should know.”
Luke exhales. “Oh.” His gaze skids lower, away from Calum’s eyes. Calum becomes hyper-aware of how close they still are. Luke hasn’t made any effort to move away, and Calum certainly doesn’t want to. That has to be a good sign, right? “I — um.” He takes a sharp breath. “My mum…”
Fuck. Luke’s fucking mum. Calum’s never hated anyone more. “So don’t tell her,” Calum says.
Luke looks up at him. “I couldn’t do that to you. I don’t want to be with you like that.”
For a second, Calum’s throat closes up with the bulk of words building up, question marks all trying to force their way between his teeth, tangling up his tongue. “Wh— do you want to be with me at all?”
“Of course I do,” Luke says timidly. “I’m just. I don’t know.” He shakes his head. “It’s kind of scary.”
“Yeah,” Calum says, infusing his voice with as much comfort as he can muster while reeling from the force of Luke’s answer. Of course I do. “Yeah. It’s scary. Sure. Especially if it’s a secret. If it’s too, um, too much — I don’t want to put you in a position —”
“No, no,” Luke says. “I’m saying I want to anyway.” The blush has taken up permanent residence on his face, but somehow Luke’s voice is clear and unflinching. “If it’s okay with you, then it’s okay with me.”
Calum wavers. “Are you sure, Luke? It’s kind of a, you know.”
“I’m sure,” Luke says firmly. His eyes flit around Calum’s face, maybe searching for something. “We should probably, like, get out of the…the water.”
Calum tightens his arms around Luke’s neck, leaning his forehead against Luke’s. His heart is beating irregularly, and it might be from the cold, but it’s probably not. “Or we could not.”
Luke chuckles weakly. “We’ll catch cold or something.”
“It’s December,” Calum says, barely a breath. “Live a little.”
Luke doesn’t answer him, but he surges forward and kisses Calum with none of the reservations he’d had minutes earlier, and if the current washed them both away right now, or sunk them under and mysteriously claimed their lives, Calum knows he’d die happy.

Heyo! This is my first time requesting here and I wanted to say that your blog is so cute! I love your writings! <3
Can I request Feitan and Shalnark with an s/o that is good at playing the piano, but gets really embarrassed when playing in front of Fei and Shal because they are afraid of judgement?
I hope this isn't too specific! Have an amazing day sweetie 💞💫
Hi and welcome :D omg tysm that makes me so happy kfjgkg 🥺 this request is perfect so dw !! man I wished I hadn’t quit playing piano I could’ve been so good💀 but ty and hope u have a great day too <33 !!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Feitan
- So one day, you and Feitan were just laying down on the bed together, having a conversation between the two of you. So while bouncing back and fourth between random topics, the subject of hobbies seemed to be brought up by Feitan.
- Even though he knew a lot about you already, he does want to know more about his lover of course!! With that, you then told him about how you play piano!! Immediately, he’s intrigued to know about this new hobby of yours since you’ve never told him about it.
- He start’s to ask you a few questions about it, too! One of the main things Feitan asks is if you’re good at playing it. HELL YEAH YOU’RE GOOD!! You’d start to confidently talk about how well you play it, and with that, Feitan starts to become more intrigued.
- This is when he’ll finallyyyy ask you if you can play in front of him one day! But, the look on your face when he asks you that questions already speaks a thousand words. Although you were confident in how you played, you were still pretty hesitant to actually play in front of someone.
- So Feitan will kind of be confused at this, like here you were talking about how good you are, but then got shy when asked to play? He didn’t understand that way of thinking.
- But, taking account of how you’re feeling right now, Feitan won’t try and push you to play in front of him if you don’t want to do it. (He tried to imagine it like how he would be annoyed if someone from the Troupe ever pushed him to do something he didn’t want to do).
- In his own way (very blunt), Feitan will try and tell you that he wouldn't judge you or anything like that if you’re nervous (yes, deep down, the man still is hoping that you’ll play for him).
- When you do actually play for him one day, he might actually not show any emotion at first (and he’ll probably have that super intense glare in his eyes while watching you play). But in the back of his mind, this man is actually SO surprised of how well you can play!! Feitan knew you weren’t lying when you said you were good ;))
Shalnark
- So one day, Shalnark was coming back from a quick mission from the Troupe. He’d told you that he would be gone for a few days, but fortunately, the mission ended early (which you weren’t aware of)
- As he finally arrived back home to see you, Shalnark randomly heard some classical music, faintly playing from one of the rooms. As he peeped in one of the doorways where the source was coming from, he immediately saw that the music was coming from you playing the piano the whole time !!
- Shalnark starts to peep for a little bit, until he FINALLY reveals that he was behind the door listening the whole time. The sudden scare made you jump and mess up though (while he just has that beaming grin on his face).
- He’s just marveling all over your piano playing skills, insisting for you to play more for him! But you become a little hesitant when he asks you to do so.
- After seeing your expression, Shalnark immediately gets the hint that you might be a little shy when playing in front of people. When you tell him that it’s because you’re afraid of being judged, this man goes all in just to reassure you!!
- From what he heard, the way you played piano was amazing!!! He couldn’t imagine being shy or embarrassed about it. Shalnark thought that if he had the skills like that, then he would just show it off to everyone!!
- He still does want you to dedicate at least one song for him though, so Shal’s going to continue and reassure that he’s not going to judge at all!! With that small pouty face he’s making along with the pleading look in his eyes, it would be impossible to decline!
- When you do end up playing for him, Shalnark watches you the whole time with stars in his eyes!! He just thinks you’re sooo so talented, and is immediately thinking about the fact that theres another thing about you to brag to the Troupe about ;)

🎄25 Days of HXH: Day 8: Shalnark x Mistletoe🎄
A/N: I listened to Mistletoe one too many times.
Taglist: @to-move-on-means-to-grow , @lifescreams27, @twistedsmth, @dukinaxael, @weeb-chick-181920 @my-child-gaara @absolute-flaming-trash @errorpeachy @yep-seeyalaterbranflakes @demon-hugger
It’s times like this when the world really does seem to fall in love all at once, tenderness drifting through the air along with the snowflakes after a midnight snow. People seem to want to be closer than ever, not just for the sake of warmth during the cold months but for the sake of having someone be close to you, sharing the quiet feelings of the start of something new and beautiful, the start of potential lovers and exploration of hearts. You’d met Shalnark in the summer, and originally, it’d felt more like a fling than anything else. Part of him seemed very aloof, bouncing around, willing to give you the time of day but he seemed that way with everyone. He was great company, following you around on your adventures and usually being available to hang around spontaneously, unless he mentioned that he had work to do. He was sickeningly sweet with you, with a kindness that seemed unmatched, although there would be the occasion he would say something dark, and you could only wonder what he was hiding at the time. The summer months had gone on, and everything, all the feelings you had for him only got stronger, or worse depending on how one looked at it. Everything looked like it wouldn’t work out, that he’d vanish off to work one night and wouldn’t come back, not because he wasn’t able to, but because he’d grown tired of the fling, tired of you and tired of everything you’d done together. It never happened, though. He’d come around at some point, telling you he wanted to stick around and be with you, love you, care for you. You accepted, of course, and now you were 7 months in with him, and the relationship was better than you’d expected it to be. He was sweet, upbeat and a dotting boyfriend, always finding some way to make you smile. Mistletoe by Justin Bieber

One day, Shalnark had told you that he was free from work for a while, so he had plenty of time to spend with you, and you couldn’t be happier. Before you had the chance, he was rattling off activities to you, trying to figure out ways to spend the free time together. You’d mentioned to him that there was a Christmas town, a few hours away, and you’d never really been to one before. Shalnark was absolutely ecstatic at this idea, and immediately started planning it out with you, taking note of all the little shops that would be there. You let him talk, losing yourself in his voice and how bubbly he could get about things, his bright eyes absolutely glowing just thinking of possibilities. You would find yourself staring at him and all his soft features, daydreaming about general relationship things, to the point where you never realize when he’s stopped talking and he’s quietly staring back at you, preparing to tease you about staring at him like that til the sun went down. You couldn’t help it, really. Everything about him was loveable, from how he squeezed your hand to how he knew every possible way to make you laugh. Eventually it came time to venture off to said Christmas town, much to his excitement, and he wouldn’t stop pointing things out on the way there, talking about the things you could whilst you were there and you could only watch him become silent when you two arrived there, his expectations most likely being exceeded upon walking through the gates of the town.
Walking down the main road of the Christmas town, you could feel your heart swell with wonder as you let your eyes jump from building to building, taking in the sight of the little town. Frosted window panes with garland and lights, lampposts with wreaths and bows, store fronts with window decorations and so much more. There was a light hum of conversation, mingling with the soft jingling of bells from far off, instinctively making you look to the sky, a part of you hoping to catch a glimpse of something your heart had never grown out of. Shalnark was mesmerised as well, the lights around reflecting in his eyes, although they faltered in comparison to his smile, beaming as his gaze seemed to be everywhere. He turned his look to you and you all but melted in those eyes of his, doe-eyed and full of excitement. You could only smile sheepishly at him and he laughed, a laugh that sounded like the bells far off in the town. Squeezing your hand, he pulled you along to a store, an ornament store. You glanced at him, wondering what he could possibly want in there. He pulled you along to the back of the store, where he picked up two empty and clear baubles and began looking around. Taking one from him, you examined it, wracking your brain about the appeal, if there was any.
“Uh...Shal..” you muttered, turning the bauble over in your hand.
“Yeah? What’s up?” he answered, turning to you.
“What’re you doing with these...they’re clear. There’s some pretty ones over there.” you pointed to an entire row of shelves with colorful ornaments.
“Oh we’re decorating these! That’s why they’re clear, duh.” He turned back, looking around the shop again. Seeing an employee, he walked over to them, leaving you where you stood. In a few moments he came back and got you, letting you hold the other empty ornament. He led you to a small table with glue, glitter, felt, markers and a glue gun all scattered about the table, and he motioned for you to sit as he sat beside you. For about 40 minutes, you sat with Shalnark, decorating a Christmas ornament, casually sprinkling glitter on his hands while he would put felt in your hair, making a mess the whole way through. Shalnark was creating a little snowglobe-like scene inside his bauble, making two little snowmen out of cotton balls, making glittery snow and adding bits of blue to the upper quarter of the ornament. You wouldn’t have pictured him to be creative, much less adorably creative, let alone this gleeful making it all the while. Occasionally he would gasp and smile to himself when he figured out something else to add, happily grabbing things and sticking it around, clearly invested in his creative adventure. You found yourself staring at him again, studying those big green eyes full of an indescribable soft joy. You turned yours into a snowglobe as well, this one with tiny trees on the inside, with slightly glittery walls. You hummed to yourself, falling in tune with the song softly playing from the shop speakers. You couldn’t help but dance in your seat as you glued the cap on your ornament. Turning to Shalnark you jumped a bit, coming to find that he was watching you, his eyes practically burning into you with strange intensity.
“Y..You okay?” you stuttered, scanning his concerningly happy yet blank stare.
“Yup! You’re just cute is all.” He smiled in return seeing you blush at his sudden confession.
“Look who’s talking!” you teased, giving him a once over.
His eyes got slightly bigger and he blushed too, clearly not expecting you to hit him with a compliment in return. He laughed and handed you his ornament whilst taking yours.
“Someone’s a copycat, huh.” giving you an accusatory yet playful look as you rolled your eyes.
“It was a nice idea, okay? At least I didn’t copy all the way.” You pointed out, motioning to your little trees and his snowmen. He nodded in acknowledgement as he handed your ornament back to you. You made a move to hand back his but he shook his head.
“Made it for you. Keep it!” he said, attempting to wipe glitter from his hands to no avail.
You blinked, looking down at the ornaments. Pouting, you handed yours to him, feeling guilty at him potentially having nothing to remember this by.
Gawking at you he took the offer, pressing his face to the side of the ornament, deeply studying the inside. He smiled and got up, walking towards the register. Part of you hoped he would pay for the experience, but you doubted that that was what he was doing. Not minutes later did he motion for you to follow him, to which you scurried after, squinting at him.
“Did we steal these?” you demanded, poking at his cheek.
“I can’t confirm or deny that accusation, y/n!” avoiding the answer you were hoping for and yet also dreading.
“Shal…” you sighed, stopping in your tracks.
He let out a soft ‘mhm’ and stopped as well, somewhat ignoring your apparent attitude about his stealing. You really couldn’t curb him from stealing things, since it was literally a profession of sorts to him, but there were times you really wish he just...wouldn’t.
Sighing again you shook your head and slipped your hand into his and he smiled, continuing the walk to the next store.
Supposedly you hadn’t dressed as warm as you thought you had, for after sometime of walking around looking at displays and shop windows, you found yourself shivering a little bit and you hugged yourself, burying your nose in the collar of your jacket. Feeling a tug, you looked up to meet Shalnark's gaze, gesturing over to a hot chocolate stand not too far off and you nodded at his silent suggestion. Walking over, you took the liberty to pay this time, much to Shalnark's silent brood, knowing how he felt about you spending your money. Not that he was a cheapskate, per se, but judging, again from his profession, spending money on a regular basis didn’t seem to be on his agenda. Taking your cups of hot cocoa, you sipped it carefully as to not burn yourself as you stepped a bit closer to Shalnark, who happily accepted your closeness. Looking at him, you stifled back a giggle (and a choke, since you were mid sip) at the frothy cocoa mustache he had, and he titled his head at your expression. Taking one of the napkins from under your cup, you handed it to him and he seemed to understand, except for the fact that he smiled, pocketed them and kept drinking. Huffing, you followed suit, enjoying the silent sipping, happy with being in his presence.
After finishing, you continued to make rounds, visiting more stores and talking with Shalnark, indulging in the light banter and romance that he had to offer. You two had made your way to a clearing with a row of trees just a few feet away, decorated with lights and a paved walkway, small candy canes and wrapped cookies handing off the lower branches of the trees. You didn’t even have to ask Shalnark to walk down with you, he was already captured by the whole sight. As you were walking, you finally took note of all the couples that were actually there, both young and old. Intertwined hands, soft laughter and flirtatious remarks seemed to be everywhere, and you felt lucky to be able to relate to the scene of couples and love before you, feeling as though you’d picked a perfect person to be there with. A little bit ahead of you though, was a couple, nose to nose, giggling at each other, and that feeling of luck and happiness uncomfortably melted into awkwardness. Looking around again, you also managed to notice the amount of mistletoe hanging from between  each tree, between the lights, or just casually strewn about the branches. You glanced at Shalnark, seemingly oblivious to your slight discomfort. You didn’t want to push him into anything, it was unlike you, but part of you held a slight doubt within yourself. The most he’d done is place the occasional peck on your cheek, and you would do the same, and you could only do so much to avoid actually kissing him, because you wanted him to want it as much as you did. Sometimes you would find yourself staring at his lips with an almost unnerving desire, and he would catch you, always asking what you were staring at. You would never tell him though for fear of scaring him off. You figured he picked the perfect moment to do so eventually, but nevertheless you always felt he held back simply because he didn’t feel that sort of connection with you, making that self doubt fester inside of you. It was almost becoming obnoxious the amount of couples underneath buds of mistletoe, and you couldn’t keep an eyeroll from happening, huffing into your jacket, trying to avoid letting your eyes fall on one of the various couples. You looked around, only to find Shalnark staring at you as you occasionally found him doing and you blinked, his eyes seeming to read you and pick at your thoughts. You wouldn’t put it past him to read you as such, seeing as you probably looked as disgruntled as you felt. You rolled your eyes and looked back at, looking past your shoulder and then back at him, making sure it was you he was looking at. His eyes stayed on you all the same, only smiling and reaching over to pat your head. You smiled meekly back at him, trying to remove the obvious look from your face as best you could. You could tell your expression was pained, but you did your best to manipulate your aura into something else in a somewhat futile way to convince him otherwise.
Continuing your walk, you found yourself shivering again, wishing for more hot chocolate as you blew little clouds into the frosty December air.
“You’re cold again?” Shalnark asked, slightly turning towards you, looking you over.
“Yeah...Kinda compromised being warm for having a nice outfit.” you blabbered, feeling embarrassed about your outfit choice.
“I’m not giving you my jacket, though, so..” he laughed a little, pulling you to the side.
“Well I wasn’t going to ask, Shal!” you pouted, lying through your teeth feeling as though a potential chance for romance had been thwarted.
Shalnark unzipped your jacket and you began shivering harder, the air practically rattling your bones.
“There’s no way this sweater is warm, dummy.” He glanced at you, appalled by the fancy but slightly thin sweater you’d chosen to wear.
“Well I wanted to look nice!” you argued, frowning at him as you zipped your jacket back up, desperate to conserve warmth as best you could.
Shalnark shook his head and took off his scarf and began wrapping it around your neck, much to your surprise.
“Oh thank you-” you yelped, feeling yourself lurch forward as the scarf was pulled.
You caught yourself, chest to chest with Shalnark, and your brain went blank, and then full panic mode. Sure you were cold, and sure a hug would be nice but this isn’t a hug and he is mighty close to your face right now.
His face was dangerously close to your, and you could feel his heart beat against yours as his chest rose and fell slightly. You couldn’t form words or thoughts for that matter, every cohesive deduction for the sudden change in atmosphere abandoning ship. All you could do was look absolutely confused and feel just as so.
And yet, he brought his face closer, making your face burn with nerves and anticipation. His lips hovered just above yours, a faint, comforting heat radiating from them. You glanced at his almost dazed look, seemingly lost in whatever he was thinking. You fidgeted and he snickered, reveling in your nervousness. He brought your lips to yours gently, carefully. Clearly calculated but not stiff or awkward, gently bring one hand to your waist, the other to your cheek, rubbing his thumb against your face, making you melt. He tasted sweet, like the drink from earlier and you pressed into him, wanting him closer, wanting more. He smiled mid kiss and took you up on your silent offer for more, continuing with no intention of letting up. After a minute or so, you both stopped to catch a breath, stunned for a minute by the rush of events. He put his forehead to yours and you smiled, letting your arms come around his neck, playing with the ends of his hair. He snapped his fingers to the left of you, catching your attention. Pointing upwards, you looked up and groaned and Shalnark snickered. He’d brought you under mistletoe and you hadn’t even realized. You playfully swatted at his shoulder, making him laugh more.
“I wasn’t going to let you be cranky for the rest of the night, y/n, although that pout is pretty cute.” He teased, placing a kiss on your nose, causing you to scrunch it a bit, much to his pleasure.
Part of you was sure he wasn’t aware that you were cranky about all the couples, but then again, he was always quietly perceptive of things.
Smiling, you placed a quick kiss on his lips and started to back away before he pulled you back, deepening it again.
You had no intention of playing hard to get at this rate, you were perfectly happy being here, right here with him, starting off a perfect Christmas season with him.

I want to know what ‘holidays’ the other realms celebrate around this time of year? Like I know most of the Witches celebrate Yule and all, but what about say... zenith? Or solaria? You don’t have to do every realm, just like.... the main ones. Please?
Okay so I already did Domino, so that one will be given a miss. (I’d link the post, but I’m not sure I can on mobile.)
Solaria:
Yes the witches of Solaria mostly celebrate Yule. Yule is like an overarching holiday among witches.
Anyway: Solaria doesn’t exactly have winter like other realms do. They’re two suns sort of make it hard to have coldness. (Stella’s family goes off-realm to enjoy winter sports/activities, and she was like six before she really saw snow.)
They do, however, have a week where the moons of Solaria become more prominent and dominant in power over the suns. This causes Solaria to go down in temperatures (mostly light jacket weather, but because Solarians are just a tad ‘extra’ and so super use to the warmth, the tend to bundle up as if it’s snowing.)
This week is called Resetting of the Suns. (This is the translated version of the name, but in Solarian it’s far more elegant.)
Lights from gems and Star Light fueled lanterns are crucial during this time. Often done in remembrance of the power split in the cosmos, the lights are used to power up the Solarians who draw their power more from the sun so they don’t get too weak. (The Solarians more drawn to the moon have their powers increased during this time, and this is their time to ‘shine’.)
Stories are retold over and over about the love between the suns and moons, how they have to share their power for the greater good and they must never come into direct contact, ‘lest their children die in the flames.
Romantic/holiday movies are usually released and shown throughout the week.
Festivals are held in honor of the Moons and Stars all around Solaria. Candies and cookies in the shape of stars and moons are handed out, jewelry created of star dust and moon stone are given to loved ones, and ribbon dances are performed.
(Stella, as the crown princess of Solaria, performs the ceremonial Moonstra Dance with her mother, dressed in traditional lunar fashion with the Tiara of the Moon giving her an aura of peace. She was a little rusty with it at first, but now that she’s more sure of herself and in tune with her body more, partially thanks to Layla’s dance practices, she’s so good at it. Brandon finds himself in awe of how beautiful and elegant she and her mother are in the dance.)
Foods tend to be meaty and hearty to help the Solarians, especially the more solar powered ones, nice and warm on the inside.
Gifts tend to be lunar based. Moonstones and stardust and lunar fashions. (Light-weight and airy clothing designed in blue, white, and occasionally a pale yellow. Hair tends to be done up in star dust glitter and crescent moon shaped head pieces, like ponytail holders or ribbons or headbands.)
Songs singing the praises of the moon are sung among ‘carolers’ and concerts are even dedicated to the moons and stars.
Andros:
There’s two holidays that occur on Andros during the ‘colder’ seasons, aside from Yule.
The Merpeople celebrate Narshala (Nar-shal-a).
Not much is known about this holiday other than the merpeople gather in the Palace and sing the most haunting songs, reminiscent of the Siren Songs and water particles and bubbles can be seen floating up into the air, bursting in different colors.
(Layla won’t tell what her dad’s family does during Narshala, as it’s a very private celebration among the merpeople and she knows better than to share with outsiders, even her friends. Nabu, however, will be celebrating his first Narshala along with his family.)
Land dwelling Androsians celebrate Nereidisa (Ner-a-dis-a), the Celebration of the Ocean Waves and Winter Solstice.
Andros is sort of a windy place anyway due to the ocean currents and sea breezes, though it’s usually super warm near the beaches.
However, during this particular time of year, even the beaches become chilled and clothing may need be made of warmer material.
Bubble-based lights are lined around the castle walls and the villages and cities of Andros, the lights glowing in different colors based on how close they are to the castle. (They become more and more seaweed green the further from the castle you are, but the closer to the castle you are, the more oceanic blue the bubbles become.)
Seafood feasts are prominent, often with dashes of sweeter tastes. (Like mint.)
Specialized water-based fireworks are shot off on the beaches during night before Nereidisa, as a welcome for the waves. Designs include merpeople, water birds like seagulls and pelicans, different types of fish, selkies, and seashells.
Seashells and fish scales that have been thoroughly cleaned and shined are used to create jewelry and clothing items that tend to be worn at this time.
The royal family tends to dress in various shades of green or blue, their hair braided into seashell bands and streaks of blue or green bubble colors are mixed in. Crowns or tiaras (in Layla’s case) of coral are worn. (The crowns are very much alive and form a temporary symbiotic relationship with the wearer, giving them a power boost while eating the dead skin on their face. It sounds weird as hell to outsiders, especially to Stella and Musa, but it doesn’t hurt the wearer and in fact helps their skin seem even smoother and healthier.)
Dances and plays are a prominent part of this holiday. Children typically perform the plays, detailing the first time an Androsian communicated with the Ocean and discovered it’s true power.
Dances are done by all ages and are done while wearing traditional Nereidisa clothing. (Kelp and seaweed based shirts and leggings, with shells and fish nets used as accent pieces or skirts. Bubbles/morphix batons are used to twirl and create the effects needed.
There is a swimming competition, though only the most advanced swimmers are allowed to participate as the ocean is a bit rough during this time of year.
Games are played with shells and bubbles. Usually simple children’s games; like a version of hopscotch or catch, but there are more complex ones similar to simon says and bop-it with morphix/bubble tech.
If a new king or queen has stepped up within that year, they are to dress in the attire the first Androsian wore to commune with the waves (a simple shirt and trouser set, usually plain in color.) They are then to walk into the ocean and allow it to overtake them.
They then return to the surface, considered ‘new’ and ‘purified’ by the ocean, a chosen leader.
Melody:
Melody celebrates The Day of the Muses. This holiday celebrates the goddesses of music and their Singing Whales.
Every Melodian knows the call of the whales and as is tradition, they go to the nearest wharf or pier or beach to watch as the whales go by and they try to sing along.
It’s actually pretty warm this time of year, so its not uncommon for Melodians to wear short sleeves or skirts or shorts. (Typically in festive purple or red shades.)
To be really festive, they wear clothes with the print of the Muses on them. (Typically the notes that correspond with the notes the whales sing for their song.)
Dances and parties are often the main way to celebrate. All music types are welcome as this is literally the celebration of music and the inspiration music brings.
This is also typically when prospective musicians of all types (singers, guitarists, classicists, pianists, etc) show off the projects they’ve been working on all year with their family and friends. (And sometimes potential producers.)
Sweets are the main dishes for Day of the Muses as the music goddesses are known for their sweet tooths. (Especially if the sweets are imbued with telepathic magic that allows the taster to hear the music.)
Movies depicting those ‘inspired’ and ‘touched’ by the music goddesses are often shown during this time, hoping to bring a message of hope and perseverance to any Melodian who hasn’t quite found their song or rhythm yet.
Gifts aren’t necessary, but if they are given it’s usually only to immediate family and close friends. (And it’s typically a collection of music that the giver knows the receiver will really flourish from.)
Zenith:
Zenith, being a realm that thrives on logic and numbers, doesn’t really see a point in celebrating the ‘gods’ or ‘goddesses’ or any other being that hasn’t been proven to exist. (In fact, they’d be skeptical of the Great Dragons if it weren’t for the fact that they’ve seen the Dominans and Obsidinites in action before.)
But because of their dedication to logic and ‘the truth’ and their technology, they have a holiday known as Sarpava (Sar-pav-a).
Families get to stay home with each other and they share what they think the most important thing they learned that year was. Sharing knowledge is the big thing for this holiday.
Soups and other warming foods are the main dishes, as Zenithians aren’t fond of sweets typically and their realm is always so cold that their dishes tend to be spicy to compensate... (And keep their bodies warm.)
The Royal Family usually has a major party in the palace, open to the public, where they display an algorithmic light show for the children and hold a major trivia game for the adults and teens. (Broken down into many subcategories. If you win these trivia games, you tend to earn a favor of some sort from the king, be it advanced knowledge of future tech or perhaps even a call into that job you were hoping for.)
There are also competitions for inventors to enter their new creations in. The winner gets a patent and an opportunity to have their creation developed further. (This was how Tecna’s dad got his company started up. Magnethia was so proud.)
Games of other sorts are often played, though many games to revolve around memorization, skill, mathematical or scientific genius, and trivial knowledge.
Linphea:
Mianea. (Mia-na). (The name is different in Linphean, but this is the translation.)
This is the literal celebration of both ‘death’, ‘renewal’, and ‘rest’.
Linphea has a month where it’s basically ‘winter’, especially in the more mountainous regions.
Snowfall isn’t much, and hail hardly happens, but it’s there.
Various plants and animals go into hibernation during this time, and some sort of ‘die out’ during this month, but soon ‘regain their form’ during the thawing season.
(Like I said, Death and Renewal.)
Family usually gathers and discuss their family history and how it’s tied in with the nature of Linphea’s being, how they came to be and where they’ll go once they’ve passed, how they’ll once again be part of Linphea’s cycle even in death.
They talk about those who have passed and give thanks for them, leaving little wreaths around the burial sites as a way of tribute.
Sweets are the main dish as a way to soften up the hearts and remind others that life is most definitely worth living.
Some sweets have a little kick to them, such as cinnamon.
Any animals or plants eaten during this time are given praise and thanks, a way to remind the family that sometimes sacrifices have to be made to let others grow and live.
There’s a major festival in the Heart of Linphea’s realm where they dance to Winter Harmony (a ballet-esque dance) and allow their magic and auras to connect with the realm, giving it the strength to renew itself later.
The entire realm feels even more alive with the magic of it’s inhabitants just pulsing through, giving it more meaning.
Gifts aren’t necessarily given, but some families do.
Clothing of wilted petals and half-dried leaves are typically worn as a sign of mourning for the plants and animals lost during this time (and throughout the year).
Memories and stories of loved ones are shared with the family and a feast is usually held.
The Evergreen trees are often decorated with colored lights and hand-made ornaments, a show of reverence and finding light even within such a dark time.
Eraklyon:
Eraklyon celebrates Flames and Shields Day. (This is the translation of the holiday.)
Dragon riders, streamers, balloons, candlelight decor, and fireworks.
It’s an all-out, 24 hour party on Eraklyon during this day.
The army and royal guard show off their moves and their weapons. Parties and festivals line the streets.
Vendors selling carnival food and dragon races and levibike races.
Ballroom dances, reenactments of famous battles, fancy clothing.
Classical music and artwork gets shown off.
At the end, there’s a major fireworks display, a grand speech made by the King, and a feast the entire realm is invited too.
(This is also the best time for normal residents get to air their grievances to the king and ask for certain things to be fixed or to get better.)
It’s a fairly beautiful event and it definitely gets plenty of media attention as the ‘Party of the Year’.
Isis:
Solstice of the Soul.
This is going to sound weird, but this is a holiday of self-reflection and self-discovery.
The people of Isis gather the gemstones that truly ‘speak to them’ and that they draw power from.
They set up mini-circles around themselves as soon as dawn breaks through, using the sun’s power and their own to charge the gems and open up ‘portals’ into their own souls.
This is meant to make them reflect on the past year, help them realize if they’re still on the right path and if they’re where they’re meant to be.
Sometimes people find new gems to speak to or find themselves drawn to new pieces of life.
It’s not much of a family based holiday, but it that’s just how it is.
At dusk, there is a gathering for the Isisians where they power Isis’ Diamond heart to keep the realm safe from harm for another year.
Callisto:
Since this is more of a touristy realm, they tend to accommodate for other holidays instead of having any of their own.
Obsidian:
This may be the opposite realm of Domino, but they celebrated very similarly with lights and flames to worship the Great Dark Dragon.
Traditional Dragon Dances are done, flames used as dancing partners and accents to the dance.
(They typically have more Yule like traditions.)
A major feast at the Palace is often held. Fireworks and family are celebrated.
Mostly though, it’s the unadulterated worship of the Great Dark Dragon and the birth of dark magic.
Plays depicting the Great Dark Dragon’s reign are often shown, as well as the original banishment of the Ancestral Witches.
Grand snowball fights are held. (Mostly for children.)
They also tend to have major balls and more ‘dressed up’ events for the nobility to attend.
Gifts aren’t exactly customary for Obsidinites as being alive and able to feel the Dragon’s Flames are meant to be gift enough. (Though children tend to get at least a little something from their parents.)
Sweets, especially cakes, are the go-to for Obsidinites.
There’s also a bit of a “Trial By Fire” that the one bonded to the Great Dark Dragon has to go through. Basically, they get engulfed in the first flames the Dark Dragon spewed and become ‘purified’ from the flames. This only happens once the Great Dark Dragon’s new bonded has been properly given the crown.
Sword fights and dragon races take place often during the festivities.
The night usually ends with a fireworks show and the promise of the Great Dark Dragon’s protection for another year.
Inseca:
Cocooning Week- (again, another translation done as best as possible.)
This is a week of transformation and renewal. The Insecans try to purge themselves of what they consider to be their worst parts during the last year. They do this by getting rid of clothing or pictures or toys that remind them of something horrible or upsetting that happened.
(This is also when they let out their worst emotions. Anger, hatred, self-loathing. All of it is aired out and set loose into the world to be lost and forgotten as the Insecan tries to make themselves a better person.)
During the middle of the week, they make a list or ‘focus board’ of who they want to become and the qualities they want to try and gain. Many seek out various friendly ‘spiders’ or ‘spider-like’ creatures to cocoon them for that last night before the end of the week.
At the end, they emerge from their cocoons and typically feel a sense of renewal as they try to become better people than they were at the beginning of the week.
(A feast with family is usually held at this point, along with any gift giving or parties. Meals in the shape or form of various insects are made.)
Tides:
Tides actually has very similar traditions to Androsians because of how close their realms are to one another.
Honestly the main difference is the tattooing of Tidisians of ‘that age’ (usually 16 or 17 year olds).
The tattoos are done on the arms, legs, and sometimes backs of the youth, done in the same aura color of their magic and in the flow their magic runs in. (Usually in line with the flow of the tides in the realm.)

Battle #26
Samantha Fox: I Wanna Have Some Fun (Side A )
Vs.
The Bouncing Souls: Hopeless Romantic (Side B )
Samantha Fox: I Wanna Have Some Fun (Side A )
Samantha Karen Fox is an English singer, songwriter, actress, and former glamour model. In 1983, at age 16, she began appearing as a topless model on the famed Page 3 of British tabloid newspaper The Sun. When Fox was 16, her mother submitted several photographs that she had taken of her daughter in lingerie to The Sunday People newspaper's Girl of the Year amateur modelling contest. She came in second place out of 20,000 entrants and the photographs drew her to the attention of the newspaper The Sun, which invited her to pose for Page 3. She continued as a Page 3 girl until 1986. During this time, she became the most popular pin-up girl of her era, as well as one of the most photographed British women of the 1980s. That might all seem odd to Americans, but her Mother was a model herself so the path seemed inevitable. 1986 is when she switched over to a pop music career. That year saw her first released single and album of the same name “Touch Me”. It would become her career path for the rest of the decade and into the 90s. This album is her third studio effort from 1988. It begins with the title track, “I Wanna Have Some Fun”. This track marks a pretty decided change in her approach to music. Her early albums and songs were very Debbie Gibson/Tiffany-esque. This album leans more heavily towards the dance club scene with very ambient and trance beats. This song did achieve airplay, and was mildly successful. I can remember hearing it on the radio anyway. “Love House” is where the DJ hook revolves around danceable beats. It IS British after all. Very mediocre and a B Side quality to it. “Your House or My House” has a more radio jam feel, but still accepting of its “House” roots (#seewhatididthere). There is still enough bounce in the jar to make you shake your jelly, because jam don’t move like that! (What? Sorry, even I don’t know what I am rambling about). “Next To Me” has the dance party continuity. I hate to say, it there is not much diversity going on here. I guess if the label is just trying to get a few club singles and make some money, then it’s effective. I DO feel like Samantha actually has some talent though. She CAN carry a tune at least. This is VERY 1988 in nature though. Synthetic noises and stuttered vocals with fake 808 drum beats, etc. I think Sam blew her wad on track one. Though maybe not, as “Ready For This Love” has a more pop flavor. Back to the Gibson girl pop but immediately the corny sax part kills some of the buzz. To be fair, I feel an artist like Samantha Fox certainly laid the foundation for something like The Spice Girls to take root and form. Even if 100% contrived. The final track, “Confession” treads the line between trancy and synth, but still 80s enough. Sounds like someone busted out their Gary Numan records... One thing is for sure. Sam tried a different approach this go around and switched from a pure Pop sound to a more 90s version of dance ala C&C (either music factory or Penison, take your pick) (#seewhatididthere) ALSO: 30 minutes!!! Three zero!! Gone is the “hit machine” but in its place stands a Kylie Minogue contemporary.
The Bouncing Souls: Hopeless Romantic (Side B )
All the way from from New Brunswick, New Jersey, the Bouncing Souls formed in 1989. By the time of their acknowledgment by the national punk rock scene, they had reignited a "pogo" element to New Jersey punk rock by playing fast light-hearted songs, a model followed by other local bands. Their style is pretty unique. It’s rapid fire punk mixed with Weird Al type humor. They convey their friendliness and friendship very well through their tunes. Hopeless Romantic was released in 1999 and is their 4th studio effort. It has been heralded among fans for intermixing poignant lyrics with their melodic rapidly paced punk style. Soon after the album's release, personal problems arose between the band and long-time drummer Shal Khichi which resulted in his departure from the band. The last “original lineup” album if you will. The B side of this album is a little more tongue in cheek as compared to the flip side. It starts with this quirky number about The humdrum and hoopla of life on a boring rainy Monday morning. It’s aptly titled “Monday Morning Ant Brigade”. The song features several kazoos for crying out loud! That’s pretty punk rock. Also a Beastie Boys reference so, cannot be too shabby amiright? “Ole!” Is next and of many Souls songs this is usually one that resonates with fans. It’s catchy (playing off the famous soccer hooligan chants) and you are compelled to sing along. In fact, I DARE you not to. It encapsulates the band pretty well. Centered largely around a hook and all about fun. “Undeniable” mellows a bit which the band is also pretty decent at. I am glad Souls are in their name because it’s a pretty accurate description of the kindred spirits they convey through their music. A personal tune about some red shoes. I guess that’s what sticks with me the most about these guys is their friendship and kinship shines through all of the songs. You can just tell they have FUN together. So this portion is followed up (for me anyway) by one of. The WORST BS tunes”Wish Me Well (You Can Go To Hell)”. The song is fine, but it’s unnecessarily cheesy. It follows the Grease duet format and is about an arguing couple. The plot is ok, but (sorry, Kara Wethington) the punk lady’s voice is super annoying. I am sure it may be a little bit of overacting on her part, but the character is whining in nature, and therefore...annoying. Like a pouty teenager. The last two songs thankfully get back to a rock and roll agenda. “It’s Not The Heat, It’s The Humanity” is pop pogo party punk all the way! This is what the kids in the crowd wanna hear! Fast, unrelenting beats to move your feets. That’s followed by “The Whole Thing”. There are tons of great one string solos that build up to a payoff. That’s really what this band is: brutal, honest, true, relatable friendship on a record. And the whole thing takes place on refreshing aqua blue vinyl. Imagine if any or all John Hughes movies were a band. They’re just satisfying. To the level of what I imagine is the first cup of coffee in the morning or the 1st cigarette of the day for most folks. (I personally don’t participate in those activities so I am just guessing.) It is very hard to believe that this record is nearly 20 years old now.
Ok, so in today’s fight Samantha tried to out FOX us when really all she wanted to do was have some fun. She burned 205 calories over 29 minutes and 6 songs. That is 34.17 calories burned per song and 7.07 calories burned per minute. The Fox earned 11 out of 18 possible stars. The Bouncing Souls, being the hopeless romantics that they are were just content to play. They burned 139 calories over 6 songs and 18 minutes. That averages 23.17 calories burned per song and 7.72 calories burned per minute. The Bouncing Souls earned 14 out of 18 possible stars. So despite their hopeless nature, they romanced a win today!
The Bouncing Souls: “! Ole !” (For all the soccer hooligans)

Psalm 87
Psalm 87
The Joy of Living in Zion
Of the Korahites. A Psalm. A Song.
1 On the holy mount stands the city he founded; 2 the Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. 3 Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God.Selah
4 Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; Philistia too, and Tyre, with Ethiopia[a]— “This one was born there,” they say.
5 And of Zion it shall be said, “This one and that one were born in it”; for the Most High himself will establish it. 6 The Lord records, as he registers the peoples, “This one was born there.”Selah
7 Singers and dancers alike say, “All my springs are in you.”

Psalm 90
BOOK IV
(Psalms 90–106)
Psalm 90
God’s Eternity and Human Frailty
A Prayer of Moses, the man of God.
1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place[a] in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
3 You turn us[b] back to dust, and say, “Turn back, you mortals.” 4 For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is past, or like a watch in the night.
5 You sweep them away; they are like a dream, like grass that is renewed in the morning; 6 in the morning it flourishes and is renewed; in the evening it fades and withers.
7 For we are consumed by your anger; by your wrath we are overwhelmed. 8 You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your countenance.
9 For all our days pass away under your wrath; our years come to an end[c] like a sigh. 10 The days of our life are seventy years, or perhaps eighty, if we are strong; even then their span[d] is only toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away.
11 Who considers the power of your anger? Your wrath is as great as the fear that is due you. 12 So teach us to count our days that we may gain a wise heart.
13 Turn, O Lord! How long? Have compassion on your servants! 14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, so that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. 15 Make us glad as many days as you have afflicted us, and as many years as we have seen evil. 16 Let your work be manifest to your servants, and your glorious power to their children. 17 Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and prosper for us the work of our hands— O prosper the work of our hands!

1 O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. 2 O give thanks to the God of gods, for his steadfast love endures forever. 3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords, for his steadfast love endures forever;
4 who alone does great wonders, for his steadfast love endures forever; 5 who by understanding made the heavens, for his steadfast love endures forever; 6 who spread out the earth on the waters, for his steadfast love endures forever; 7 who made the great lights, for his steadfast love endures forever; 8 the sun to rule over the day, for his steadfast love endures forever; 9 the moon and stars to rule over the night, for his steadfast love endures forever;
10 who struck Egypt through their firstborn, for his steadfast love endures forever; 11 and brought Israel out from among them, for his steadfast love endures forever; 12 with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, for his steadfast love endures forever; 13 who divided the Red Sea[a] in two, for his steadfast love endures forever; 14 and made Israel pass through the midst of it, for his steadfast love endures forever; 15 but overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea,[b] for his steadfast love endures forever; 16 who led his people through the wilderness, for his steadfast love endures forever; 17 who struck down great kings, for his steadfast love endures forever; 18 and killed famous kings, for his steadfast love endures forever; 19 Sihon, king of the Amorites, for his steadfast love endures forever; 20 and Og, king of Bashan, for his steadfast love endures forever; 21 and gave their land as a heritage, for his steadfast love endures forever; 22 a heritage to his servant Israel, for his steadfast love endures forever.
23 It is he who remembered us in our low estate, for his steadfast love endures forever; 24 and rescued us from our foes, for his steadfast love endures forever; 25 who gives food to all flesh, for his steadfast love endures forever.
26 O give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever.

Genesis 29:1-20
Jacob Meets Rachel
29 Then Jacob went on his journey, and came to the land of the people of the east. 2 As he looked, he saw a well in the field and three flocks of sheep lying there beside it; for out of that well the flocks were watered. The stone on the well’s mouth was large, 3 and when all the flocks were gathered there, the shepherds would roll the stone from the mouth of the well, and water the sheep, and put the stone back in its place on the mouth of the well.
4 Jacob said to them, “My brothers, where do you come from?” They said, “We are from Haran.” 5 He said to them, “Do you know Laban son of Nahor?” They said, “We do.” 6 He said to them, “Is it well with him?” “Yes,” they replied, “and here is his daughter Rachel, coming with the sheep.” 7 He said, “Look, it is still broad daylight; it is not time for the animals to be gathered together. Water the sheep, and go, pasture them.” 8 But they said, “We cannot until all the flocks are gathered together, and the stone is rolled from the mouth of the well; then we water the sheep.”
9 While he was still speaking with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep; for she kept them. 10 Now when Jacob saw Rachel, the daughter of his mother’s brother Laban, and the sheep of his mother’s brother Laban, Jacob went up and rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the flock of his mother’s brother Laban. 11 Then Jacob kissed Rachel, and wept aloud. 12 And Jacob told Rachel that he was her father’s kinsman, and that he was Rebekah’s son; and she ran and told her father.
13 When Laban heard the news about his sister’s son Jacob, he ran to meet him; he embraced him and kissed him, and brought him to his house. Jacob[a] told Laban all these things, 14 and Laban said to him, “Surely you are my bone and my flesh!” And he stayed with him a month.
Jacob Marries Laban’s Daughters
15 Then Laban said to Jacob, “Because you are my kinsman, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, what shall your wages be?” 16 Now Laban had two daughters; the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. 17 Leah’s eyes were lovely,[b] and Rachel was graceful and beautiful. 18 Jacob loved Rachel; so he said, “I will serve you seven years for your younger daughter Rachel.” 19 Laban said, “It is better that I give her to you than that I should give her to any other man; stay with me.” 20 So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her.

Romans 14
Do Not Judge Another
14 Welcome those who are weak in faith,[a] but not for the purpose of quarreling over opinions. 2 Some believe in eating anything, while the weak eat only vegetables. 3 Those who eat must not despise those who abstain, and those who abstain must not pass judgment on those who eat; for God has welcomed them. 4 Who are you to pass judgment on servants of another? It is before their own lord that they stand or fall. And they will be upheld, for the Lord[b] is able to make them stand.
5 Some judge one day to be better than another, while others judge all days to be alike. Let all be fully convinced in their own minds. 6 Those who observe the day, observe it in honor of the Lord. Also those who eat, eat in honor of the Lord, since they give thanks to God; while those who abstain, abstain in honor of the Lord and give thanks to God.
7 We do not live to ourselves, and we do not die to ourselves. 8 If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. 9 For to this end Christ died and lived again, so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.
10 Why do you pass judgment on your brother or sister?[c] Or you, why do you despise your brother or sister?[d] For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.[e] 11 For it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall give praise to[f] God.”
12 So then, each of us will be accountable to God.[g]
Do Not Make Another Stumble
13 Let us therefore no longer pass judgment on one another, but resolve instead never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of another.[h] 14 I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean. 15 If your brother or sister[i] is being injured by what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. Do not let what you eat cause the ruin of one for whom Christ died. 16 So do not let your good be spoken of as evil. 17 For the kingdom of God is not food and drink but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 The one who thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and has human approval. 19 Let us then pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding. 20 Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for you to make others fall by what you eat; 21 it is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that makes your brother or sister[j] stumble.[k] 22 The faith that you have, have as your own conviction before God. Blessed are those who have no reason to condemn themselves because of what they approve. 23 But those who have doubts are condemned if they eat, because they do not act from faith;[l] for whatever does not proceed from faith[m] is sin.[n]

John 8:47-59
47 Whoever is from God hears the words of God. The reason you do not hear them is that you are not from God.”
48 The Jews answered him, “Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?” 49 Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon; but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me. 50 Yet I do not seek my own glory; there is one who seeks it and he is the judge. 51 Very truly, I tell you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” 52 The Jews said to him, “Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham died, and so did the prophets; yet you say, ‘Whoever keeps my word will never taste death.’ 53 Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets also died. Who do you claim to be?” 54 Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, he of whom you say, ‘He is our God,’ 55 though you do not know him. But I know him; if I would say that I do not know him, I would be a liar like you. But I do know him and I keep his word. 56 Your ancestor Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day; he saw it and was glad.” 57 Then the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?”[a] 58 Jesus said to them, “Very truly, I tell you, before Abraham was, I am.” 59 So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.
