God, I watched the HezuNeutral Revolutionary Girl Utena video and it was one of the worst reviews I have ever seen. The reviewer victimblames 14 year old Utena and Anthy for getting groomed and raped by Akio, (saying that Akio sexually abusing two underage girls is like a love triangle from a trashy soap opera). Says that Anthy "slept with Akio to spite Utena" even though that's not the case in the slightest and blames Utena for "sleeping with an engaged man"

She also adamantly refuses to engage with the obviously surrealist and symbolic nature of the show taking everything at face value and ignoring huge plot-points like Mamiya being Anthy, the Shiori/Juri/Ruka and the Mamiya/Mikage/Tokiko situation, calling Anthy backstabbing Utena "pointless shock value" and thinking that rgu's depiction of incest is an endorsement of it and not an examination of toxic and abusive dynamics.

Like it isn't hard to get Utena's core message you just have to possess just a little bit of sympathy for csa victims and critical thinking skills which this girl clearly lacks.

Wait sorry movie Cole’s identity reveal? Will there be repercussions about that?

OHOHO you bet! Garmadon's generals didn't recognize him at all, but there is some shaky civilian phone camera footage of Ghost-possessed-Cole fighting them all off, and the Ninjago City Internet pretty much just explodes from there with all sorts of weird theories. And the movie ninja aren't even in Movie Ninjago while all this goes down!

Some more details vaguely in order:

Cole gets doxxed approximately three hours after the footage goes up. The news straight up says this minor's full legal name and everything—Lou is on the phone yelling at them for that for about an hour (he is going to sue and he is going to WIN)

Chen and the other cheerleaders all chilling together trying to process one of Garmadork's Garmalosers being a member of the Secret Ninja Force. They get so close to realizing that the rest of Lloyd's group is the SNF—one of the cheerleaders even suggests the idea before they all turn it down. They were SO CLOSE

The theory that the cheerleaders/other kids at school come up with? Cole's only friends with Lloyd's group because it's the perfect cover, and to spy on Garmadon through Lloyd. Yeah, that's right, the answer is right there in front of them but the hateboner for Lloyd is so strong that nobody can see the forest for the trees here. The theory goes up online and most of the city accepts it wholesale.

Well, most of the city. Koko and the other parents realize pretty quickly that if Cole is the Earth Ninja, then their kids fit perfectly as the others. And remember, all six of those kids are currently missing due to being stuck in showverse! Garmadon's volcano may not survive Lady IronDragon's wrath

Speaking of Garmadon! He was not expecting the ninja to be high school students! He is about to have the worst week of his life, starting with the news going on about how this high schooler is his son's friend (but his son is bald and has no teeth, he's pretty sure... does he need to call Koko? no wait she's already here—WAIT SHE'S ALREADY HERE????). Between no ninjnerds showing up to fight him when he invades the city again and Koko giving him hell until she realize he ALSO has no clue where Lloyd and the others are (and Wu fending off his attack), Garm is NOT having a good time.

Koko, in full Lady IronDragon regalia: WHERE IS OUR SON Garmadon, clutching his bowl of cereal:

When Koko realizes Garm genuinely has no clue where their son is, she turns to Wu. And how does Wu explain that he a) trained his nephew and his nephew's friends in ninjitsu so that they could act as the city's heroes and b) they all disappeared into what might have been a portal and he's not entirely sure where they are? By playing his flute, of course. Koko punches him.

Between all of this there are still tons of theories about what the fuck Ghost was/is and why there was a glowing green ghostly guy hovering by and then jumping into m!Cole in that shaky civilian phone camera footage. And plenty more speculation as to how and why the Earth Ninja was suddenly able to tear chunks out of the pavement and make the earth shake a little. Yes it should be obvious but. Well. The internet's gonna internet.

And again, the movie ninja are not there when all of this is going down. Their parents are looking for them, Wu is looking for them, Koko tears up Garm's volcano and then joins Wu in tearing up all his research on portals looking for them—to seemingly no avail. The whole city being weird and invasive about Cole following the identity reveal doesn't help.

When the movie ninja finally do return we get this interaction:

tl;dr cole got outed bc footage of him fighting off garm's generals while possessed was uploaded online and then picked up by the news, but bc the city hates lloyd garmadon so much pretty much everyone but the parents fail to realize who the other ninja are. bc it's funny

Murder drones au: regenerative cyborg Tessa

TW: lightish body horror

Tessa unknowingly was used by her parents to gain higher standing within the company when she was barely more than an infant. She has no memory of this due to drugging and other mind altering methods. However, none of these cyborg attempts seemingly took and it was a failed project all around.

Then, seemingly human Tessa, goes to Copper 9. She bleeds, she can't breathe the air, she doesn't heal immediately. She's human. Truly.

Until something punctures her helmet. Suddenly, she's suffocating, gulping up air that holds little oxygen and way too much nitrogen. The drones are freaking out, but don't exactly know what to do, (they're in the middle of a fight, they can't just stop to help.) Tessa is terrified and sure she's going to die.

And then suddenly, *burning* grows down from her windpipe down to her lungs, the burning grows into massive pain as she feels her body shut... Down?

And then the burning ebbs, and then she starts to *breathe*. Tessa is happy to be alive but... She's confused, that is until she sees another hole in her punctured suit. Her hand. The one that was bitten. The scars gleamed in the moonlight, not from the blood, but from metallic lacing that sealed up the wound. Metal was where flesh should be.

A terrified shriek left her throat, some how disturbing her and comforting her at the same time. She—she was alive! But she was a monster. But she was alive!

(later in Copper 9 labs, she learns that the only times animal tests worked with cyborg regeneration was in life of death situations and that they failed to save the test subject every time except one. She learns that despite her parents many failings, perhaps they did care about their child just an ounce, since they didn't go as far as to try to kill her. )

Okay I'm a HUGE steven universe fan, and I know that the fandom has been dead for a while now but idc I wanna talk abt my issues with the fandom and how ppl just misinterpret the show.

And no I'm not talking abt the lilly orchards and the ppl with the most braindead takes u have ever heard cuz I feel like they've been talked abt enough. No, I wanna talk abt the finale and I wanna talk abt White Diamond cuz imo she causes sm controversy in the fandom.

Lemme just say I LOVE white diamond, she's in my top 10 su characters for sure, and I feel like a lot of ppl dont understand her arc and her character in general.

Like yes she did bad things and yes I wish we got to see more of her overall but the fucking show got cancelled before it was supposed to and imo ppl need to take that into account when talking abt her and the finale. Her character and her arc does make sense in regards to the buildup and the show as a whole. I feel like a lot of ppl just wanted a boos fight which #1 would've completely gone against the point of the show and also she's like 100 ft tall with mind control powers they were not beating WD in a fight idc. Not to mention the fact that we lowk got a boss fight right before that anyway so that would've just been repetitive.

And just thinking abt her character, she represents everything and nothing at the same time. She's every color of the light, but she's also empty without the reflection of the other colors. She perceives that emptiness as perfection cuz that's the easiest thing to believe. She's probably older than time itself and has never rlly been proven wrong in any circumstance so when she finds out that pink is gone and steven is steven obviously she's gonna have a fucking identity crisis.

Steven didn't "defeat" her, he just changed her mind, (idk maybe like that's a core theme of the show or smthn) and changed her perspective. He showed her that things can change and that things aren't set in stone. (wow what another core theme thats crazy)

Also another thing she didn't want to murder Steven and I fucking hate it when ppl say that. I don't think she's ever seen a human before and in her mind steven is just pink in a different form so pulling out his gem wouldn't kill him. In reality yeah it probably would, I'm just saying that wasn't her intention.

Anyway this post was way too long and probably doesn't make any sense. I don't expect many ppl to see this either especially cuz I'm barely active on here unless Im looking at fanart but if ur reading this hopefully u got smthn out of it. (°◡°♡)
