Salmon Woods was stunning. Andrew had forgotten how much he loved exploring a place he'd never seen before.

It'd be winter soon. In town they were already advertising the start of the ski season on Great Bear Mountain.

He wondered how Tracy would feel about learning to ski. They could teach the kids to snowboard on the beginner slopes.

He understood why Tracy loved Bluewater Village so much. She'd grown up in Brooklyn Heights and her family had visited her grandparents in the village every summer. To a kid used to the city, the small town by the sea must have seemed magical. 

Then, when she'd moved there to get away from a bad relationship with Tanya's father, it was a safe haven, and an opportunity to raise her child in a place where she had so many happy memories.

But you can make memories anywhere.

He found himself imagining a different future for their family. Moving from base to base, to different towns, even different countries. The army paid all the relocation costs, and they'd never have to worry about building on extra bedrooms because the army would provide a house to suit their family. 

They could keep the Bluewater cottage, maybe rent it out. Maybe it would be a good place to retire some day in the future.

But for now, there was so much more to discover. He just had to find a way to make Tracy see that.

This is all driven by Andrew's midlife crisis wants - along with the want to change career, he's rolled some little, easy to fulfill ones like changing his clothes, and some big ones like travelling to all three World Adventures destinations. So, yeah, the travel bug has bitten.

I've based his career plans off this mod. In TS2, I imagined the military base was in Bluewater Village, and my military sims could only live there. I put a small base in the TS3 version of the village, and later added a bigger one to Salmon Woods, to give me another reason to move some playable sims there. 

We'll catch up with these guys again in a few more story-months.

I usually don't kill my sims, but long time ago I had a family of weirdos for a silly gameplay. One of them was killed by a meteor. That's something that could totally happen to me.

How has your ''Sims Style'' changed throughout your years of playing?

Omg, let's not talk about "before simblr" era... They were just potatoes with photoskinned clothes (that was the only cc for Sims 3 back then, okay?) Anyway, I always aimed for realistic looks, as close to real people as I could get (sometimes it was getting really obsessive). After I realized I can't make a clone of a real human in Sims, I slowed down and got the today's style. Realistic style with a slightly cartoon touch. At least I think it looks like that, lol.

so, I came with some theories about TS2/3 lore...

You think Mathilde could be Bella's and Skip Broke's daughter? I always link their 'deaths'...

On the other hand, I think Dina had a baby with Mortimer: Gloria Goth, the maid from Isla Paradiso. Gloria is an hispanic name (like the paternal branch of the Calientes) and she's a gold digger just like Dina

And about Mortimer... I'm starting to think that he and Michael travelled in time when Morty just became a young adult or even when he was a teen. They travelled to the future (like years after TS2) with their first invention, the PlasmaPunch Gyroscopic Conductor. If you use it in TS3, your sim will discover that Bella Goth will become the empress of all aliens, who live in ruined cities. When playing, this adventure always end with "(Sim name) found themselves in a crystal and gem paradise where they saw a fleeting reflection of Bella Goth as the dimensional gate faded away. That last glimpse that they saw will always remind them that Bella is still out there...somewhere."

So I think that Morty, even if he loved Bella at the beginning, was deeply changed after discover this and dedicated his life to fulfill some kind of role. Also, this time travel would explain the mismatch of Mortimer's and Michael's ages with Bella in later games.

Any thoughts about these crazy ideas I came when I should be studying? hahaha

It’s an interesting thought, but I doubt it for a few reasons.

For one, it doesn’t really match up with the given timeline. And there’s just a whole other can of worms with the Broke Family. There’s a giant discrepancy between the scrapbook memory screenshots and the actual memories that Brandi and Dustin have—for example, according to the scrapbook, Skip was there for the birth of Beau, however, according to the memories, he was dead by then? And furthermore, it says that Dustin was a teen at the time of Beau’s birth. Which is contrary to Dustin and Brandi’s memories—according to their memories, Skip died BEFORE Beau was born, and Dustin was still a child when Beau was born.

Either way, Skip’s been dead for a while. Beau ages up to a child the night that you start their household, so he’s been dead for at least ten sim days, where as Bella has only been missing for seven. This is important because Bella is newly pregnant and likely not even aware that she is pregnant when she’s abducted—as in within the last twenty-four hours. Given the obvious math that ten days minus seven days is more than one day, I don’t think she is. I’m fairly confident that she’s Mortimer’s child, as well. Fun fact: if you bring her back with the tombstone of life and death and make her pregnant with Mortimer’s child, she ALWAYS gives birth to a girl. Every single time.

I actually think you might be onto something with this one—with the disclaimer that I have never owned Island Paradise and have no experience with Isla Paradiso, nor do I have any idea where on the timeline Isla Paradiso is (each world in the Sims 3 is on its own place in the timeline, it’s Sunset Valley, the world that came with the base game, that establishes the 25 years before Sims 1 precedent.)  She certainly looks like Dina. In my current Pleasantview playthrough, Dina and Mortimer did have a daughter, but I named her Noel.

No. Cool thought, but no.

For one, Mortimer’s claim to fame is the age reversal serum, Cassandra’s the most likely candidate to bring time travel into the game.

For another, the Plasmapunch isn’t a time machine. According to the description, it reads:

“Jummp in and hold on tight because this may be the ride of your life. Like its predecessor, the Electro Dance Sphere, the PPGC harnesses the power of a thermofusion cell that is strong enough to generate an Einstein-Rosen Bridge. It’s really out of this world!”

The key words here are “Einstein-Rosen bridge.”

The Einstein-Rosen bridge is not about time travel, but rather, deep space travel. Hence the last sentence, “it’s really out of this world!”

TLDR, Einstein-Rosen bridges are wormholes, and that a black hole’s surface works as a bridge that connects to a different patch in space—the density of a black hole is the accumulation of all the mass between the two patches occurring in one spot. Yes, there is the concept of how time would pass in a wormhole, but time travel via wormhole would be like eating soup with a fork—you could do it, but it takes more effort than is really necessary with the proper tools.

Which means that when your sim gets that rabbithole text prompt, they’re not seeing the future, they’re seeing another place entirely on the other side of the universe. Which means that the empress of the aliens looks like a fully grown, Sims 2 Bella Goth. I’m not exactly sure when Starlight Shores takes place, but if it takes place the same time as Sunset Valley, then it’s impossible that it’s actually her. Meaning that the aliens could have targeted Bella in the Sims 2 because of her resemblance to their empress.

I honestly have no knowledge of the Langeraks, or the Sims 3 Oldie’s (I ALWAYS placed them in Pleasantview in 2, though.) So I can’t comment on that one.

🥳 Why did you start writing fanfic?

Haha—the sims! I’m not kidding. At first I was just hooked by the crumbs of lore strewn here and there, in characters’ bios or neighbourhood objects, this world attracted me so immensely with its mystery; it felt like there was something there, a story untold that I could only attempt to dig out but would never fully know. It was a very… sorrowful experience? And I was barely seven when I started playing, and so many things in the game confused and overwhelmed me, and in some way that too added to the mystery. Then TS3 came out and it introduced book titles! An open world with props like an abandoned mine entrance with two red eyes peering at you from the darkness! I remember the wall posters, with their funky object descriptions telling little stories, and how inspired I was by that. The book titles made my brain whirr. I got TS3 World Adventures for my 9th birthday and just—man, the vibe of three different locations you can’t “normally” play in, with their secrets and side quests and new books and the terrifying dungeon locations with traps and mummies and skeletons (that you couldn’t remove even with cheats) on the ground. Sims Medieval, and all the hidden bits of untold stories there (plus the amount of lore that came with that game, I mean—we got a confirmed DEITY now!). I discovered Simspedia and the machinima/filmmaking community in 2011, and began reading up on the canon stories, and by then my fate was sealed.

I kept the stories in my head, mostly, and played them in my head before sleep (oh boy the Pleasantview one had so many parts and all of them were titled. Do you ever keep notes for stories that are only supposed to existi in your brain? I did—). I had a playlist of songs to imagine very detailed AMVs to. I got into video editing because of that game. I don’t remember which story was the first to actually be written down, but my best guess is that four-parts one (I think I only ever wrote part 1, BUT I did finish it!) going with the theory that Murder in Pleasantview had actually been written by The Alexander Goth and sent back in time, and in the fic Bella gets her hands on it and finds out about the inevitable tragedy that’s gonna befall her in the future. It was so over the top and I made Jocasta an absolute monster of a mother while in reality all she did was trying to protect her 10 years old daughter from an existential crisis, but tbf I was 11 at that time, so my point of view was a bit skewed. I wrote that story in a notebook, mainly during classes (because that’s what I did in classes for most of my school life to be honest), and I’m pretty certain I’ve still got that cringefest somewhere bc I never throw anything out. So, there. TL;DR Bella Goth made me write fanfics (sort of).

💕 What is your favourite fic that you’ve written?

AAAAAaaaa I don’t know! It’s so hard to type one, and me coming from The Sims fandom makes most of my fics end up suspended in this no man’s zone between original and fanfic… It’s so hard to decide because most of those I’m the most soft and nostalgic for are not even good. Strangetown, maybe, because it ran for 25 chapters and taught me so much about how (not) to write? That scene from PLU with Frances McCullough femme fatale’ing Bella, definitely one of the best scenes I ever shot? The colours there—! Oh and the Hawaii evening one. I think that’s my favourite favourite. Just a handful of demigods, dead people, and anthropomorphised concepts meeting up to drink and play cards in a Hawaiian tavern. I wrote it in one evening solely for myself, never to publish it, and it still makes me smile with nostalgia when I remember it.

Out of my recent Destiny ones, because I assume that’s what y’all are here for, I’d say… Eugtutghsth don’t make me choose it’s a tie between nothing’s fair in love and war and Small Knives. Neither of them is perfect and I already see so many things I could improve, but the premise of each—and the ‘missing scenes’ kinda vibe—wins my heart over, and now that I’ve written them I can’t imagine not having written them, you know? Love & War in particular. There just doesn’t exist an AU where that scene didn’t happen, it’s the nexus of my personal canon.

🌻 How often do you read your own fics?

Quite often, I think! I like coming back to the older ones once I’ve forgotten the details a bit, and I’m genuinely proud of my writing atm (a rare occurrence), so it’s like, wow good phrasing there Izzy! *pat pat* Oh no this line is so cringe, change it right now or I’m gonna have a stroke.

REMINISCING ABOUT THE SIMS

SHARE HOW YOU DISCOVERED THE SIMS FRANCHISE & THE VERY FIRST SIMS GAME YOU PLAYED  (E.G. TS2)

Let's see, the first time I saw The Sims game was in an Office Depot store around 2002. I went with my husband to buy computer stuff.

At that time I only played Tomb Raider, and I was always looking for a new TR game, but then I found The Sims De Luxe... The pictures on the box caught my eye. You know, I'm an adult, well over 30 at that exact time, but as a child I always liked paper dolls, barbies and dollhouses, and I liked to make stories while playing, so I thought The Sims would be something similar, but for people my age, lol. So I didn't think twice and bought The Sims not knowing that this purchase would change my life completely.

At the beginning I just played (no storytelling). One of my first sims was called Johnny Dreams (which was a sim with Johnny Depp's face, imagine that). Remember in The Sims 1 you could literally paste the face of an artist to your sim, almost all my sims were famous people, but Johnny was the first one, lol.

Chatting with my sister one night, I told her about The Sims and what happened in my game. She knew how much I love to write so she told me: 'Why don't you write a story with all that happens to your sims?' And I said: 'That's not a bad idea!' But I didn't immediately start cause at that time I was writing a novel.

That's how I discovered The Sims and which was the very first sims game I played. If you are interested in what happened when The Sims 2,3 and 4 arrived in my life, continue reading under the cut, just be warned it's a veeery long story.

When The Sims 2 came out I became obsessed with taking pictures of my game, thought I could make stories out of them and share them with other players. So I joined a forum and introduced my sims there. Before I knew it, I had my own story thread with lots of views and comments. Unfortunately, in 2009 I had problems in that forum so I had to leave after almost five years of activity.

Then came The Sims 3, with its open world, and its thousands of possibilities. And - not immediately - but it got me.

A friend and I had promised that we would never stop playing The Sims 2, that The Sims 3 would never replace it, but TS 3 was too good to be true! My friend wouldn't accept it despite the novelty of the open world, he thought nothing could beat TS2, so he would stick with it.

I was still fond of my Sims 2 characters, it was hard for me to leave them cause you know how you get attached to your sims, and they were already 3 generations. I tried to create them in TS3, but it didn't work, so I thought it was better to create new characters and stories in The Sims 3. Those characters grew on me and I ended up getting attached to them.

That's how, around 2011, I started the foundations of the 6-generation game that I'm still playing, from which my main story From the Desert to the City as well as my other stories were born.

I still wanted to share my photos and stories, but I was no longer in the forum (plus that forum didn't exist anymore), so, in 2013 approximately I started my blog Los Sims de Ana (Blogger, in Spanish), which I managed at the same time as MyPage in the site thesims3.com where I had made some new friends with whom I shared the Memories of my game. It was precisely this TS3 Memories option what gave me the idea of publishing photos of my game in real time. That's how my story " The Travels and Adventures of Tony Langerak" emerged. The blog also included downloads of my sims and an occasional tutorial. Some of my friends from thesims 3.com. subscribed and used to leave kind comments. For about a year everything worked great for Los Sims de Ana. But then...

Yes, The Sims 4 arrived, and all my (few) subscribers left to go play the shiny new game. I bought it myself, tried to play it, like really tried, but something didn't feel right so I immediately went back to The Sims 3 and then later on I made me a Tumblr account to continue sharing stories and gameplay with other TS3 fans.

In 2018 I tried to go back to The Sims 4, recreating my TS3 characters, but it turned out to be a disaster. I stopped playing it for good in October 2019. I haven't opened it since, except to do the updates and see that everything works fine.

Don't get me wrong, TS4 is quite entertaining, and the characters funny, but I feel like its style doesn't go with my stories, (cause for me the game isn't just about playing but about making stories!) It's a shame, but TS4 just didn't work for me.

Around that time I repurchased the complete collection of The Sims 3 on Steam and said goodbye to Origin. Since then I've played The Sims 3 exclusively while I wait for The Sims 5, although I don't have high hopes for the latter.

Uhhh so I know I'm not a ts3 blog and I will never turn into one, but I thought I'd share the few pictures I've taken :) I'll tag these posts as ts3!

I spent the weekend building the ridiculously huge mansion these two live in, then proceeded to cheat them some 400K§ (the house alone cost almost 300K oops), so I could concentrate on all the fun stuff of the game instead of having to...... earn money. The house has a two-storey library, an indoor swimming pool and a trophy room. Two bedrooms are entirely unused and they also have a butler!

Jane Alister is adventurous, brave, star quality, technophobic and she loves the outdoors, while her roommate Emma Bryce is handy, cowardly, a computer whiz, a genius and hates the outdoors. The two are complete opposites of each other but they're still the best of friends. And yes, I was going for very cliché kind of friendship tropes, putting together an adventurous sim and a nerd sim (a'la Lara and her subordinates in TR:Legend and the TR movies), or, if you prefer, a famous sim and a shy sim. Jane might or might not have a crush on her nerdy roommate.

I'm focusing on the world adventurer expansion as well as late night. Jane's life aspiration is great explorer, while Emma's is the tinkerer.

Even if it might not come across these pics (these are like literally the only ones I have and I've been playing for three days lol), I'm really happy with how Jane and Emma look. I play with extremely minimal cc, because ts3 makes me feel nostalgic in a same vein as ts1 does, and I don't want to clutter my game with cc. I do have default skins and some eye contacts, but I didn't like how the contacts looked. I'm already thinking about bringing these two to ts2 as well........

Ranking ALL the Sims 3 Expansion Packs - tonitalks

WOW, Tonitalks and I have a lot of similar ideas about the TS3 EPs! ❤️

It’s like, on one hand, every TS3 EP is amazing (especially when compared to the pittance being sold in TS4′s EPs). But on the other hand, EA really dropped the ball in areas where it should have really gone further to expand core gameplay. Even the best EPs had glaring flaws, and tend to fall short of things TS1/TS2 did better. But on the whole, what we got was just enough to keep the TS3 fandom alive even 11 years later. Bless.

MY THOUGHTS (under the cut):

(Unless Tumblr’s flagged it, I could’ve sworn I made an updated Best/Worst post ranking all the TS3 EPs. But the only one still on my blog is my old one I made before I bought all the EPs, though it mostly still aligns with how I feel.)

Toni S A B C D F ranking system is mostly based on which packs have the most content and varied things things to do. Toni’s S A B ranks are her must-owns, while the C D F ranks are her most disappointing games.

S: Generations, Supernatural

Toni’s only complaint about GEN is the Imaginary Friends lifestate, which: same. Frikkin creepy. But the rest of GEN is a MUST-OWN for kids & elders.

And finally! A reviewer giving Supernatural the respect it DESERVES! ^0^ SN was stuffed to the brim; SO much content! Granted, it’s no Makin Magic, and I personally was underwhelmed by Moonlit Falls, as I like Midnight Hollow and Dragon Valley WAY more, but SN is still my favorite TS3 EP, regardless. Anyone who loves the “weird, wonderful and magic“ side of The Sims NEEDS SN. 💯💯💯 (Just make sure to mod the Zombies out or adjust your lifestate settings; whatever works to get rid of them.)

A: Seasons, University

Seasons is an excellent pack--Toni wanted a new world, which: same, but there’s just an ungodly amount of new content in SSNS, it’s the best and most well-made TS3 EP, period. 

To this day I’ve NEVER sent my sims to UNI. I hate school IRL, so unless my sims are going to effing Hogwarts I have no desire to ever bother with the school crap. Toni doesn’t like the 3 social groups, but I actually LOVE them. Almost all of my sims are either Rebels or Nerds. Crazy enough, I love the amount of new content UNI added, I just never use it for my sims’ schooling. I love the radio station, weather machine, whiteboard, skeleton set, etc etc.

B: World Adventures, Pets

For Toni, the main complaint for WA is basically the repetitiveness of the tombs, and their lack of replayability. Yes, technically this is true, as WA veers dangerously close to where TS4 went wrong with all the storyline GPs, as if they’re Castaways or The Sims Medieval. The main difference though is that we can create/download as many new tombs as we want, which 100% keeps WA fresh and interesting for me. But yes, It’s an excellent pack, which is crazy considering it’s the first one for TS3.

Toni's biggest criticism for Pets is how high maintenance horses are, which YES. Unless your sims are rich and own a lot of property, horses are almost impossible to own...but that’s how horses are IRL anyway, so IMO I don’t see that as a negative. The only problem is when you want horses in CC worlds that are too small, where you can't fit in enough 64x64 lots. (So it’s no surprise TS4 didn’t even bother. 🙄 )

C: Ambitions

Toni felt that more could’ve been done with the professions & careers, which, YES! Too many rabbithole careers, and not enough interactions. I freaking love that they added professions with playable firehouses and private investigators, but I too wish that every career could just be opened up; I hate rabbitholes. And she thought Twinbrook was meh, but I think Twinbrook’s one of the better EP worlds. (The Store worlds are where it’s at, though -- eff most of the EP worlds, tbh.) Overall I really really like AMB; it was headed in the right direction, though I can see where it could’ve easily let people down who were expecting a lot more from the professions/careers. (EA obviously learned NOTHING from AMB’s feedback, considering what Get to Work did....)

D: Showtime, Island Paradise, Into the Future

Showtime: Toni said “what was this game?“ 😂The Genies were a poor fit, the professions should’ve given us WAY more, there’s no acting career in “Hollywood,“ etc. Exactly. Not to mention the dumpster fire that was Simport. But I have a love/hate relationship with SHT. I actually treat SHT the way I do UNI & IP -- I really like the side content it added; I just never bother with the core game mechanic: superstardom, schools, and underwater. That makes 50% of the game useless for me, which is why I always get EPs on sale. ^_^

I agree with Toni that Island Paradise should’ve been like World Adventures, with different vacation locations. It could’ve been more like Castaways, with Tiki/Polynesian/Melanesian islands, Asian islands, Caribbean islands, Mediterranean Islands, etc. Plus, both of us didn’t like the mermaid system. Making them requires too much effort for them to not do all that much underwater. But to be fair, IP added A LOT Of new content. For what it did add, there is an impressive amount. Island Living sure can't say the same! 🤣

Into the Future however.... I understand why Toni was so hard with this pack. Trust: I ran the main thread at the officials that asked for a Time Travel expansion, so ITF holds a very special place in my heart, cuz EA for the most part kinda listened? ITF is awesome. It added some super cool content that I use religiously; ITF’s one of my top 3 EPs. But yeah, choices were made that had me like WTF?? Toni wanted ITF to be more hi-tech, which SAME! I wanted more of a Star Wars Blade Runner cyberpunk neon metropolis, and a steampunk/dieselpunk industrial dystopia. I have no idea where TF that “utopian” Willy Wonka zany Hunger Games nonsense came from. It was kinda retro-futuristic Jetsons Star Trek TOS in a way, which I like, but...? Choices. EA definitely could’ve done more with ITF, for sure. IMO itr needed to be more like WA, too. U_U

F: Late Night - I hollered! 😭

Y’all know I effing hate Late Night. Only reason I keep it installed is for the musical instruments & highrises. It’s certainly no Apartment Life, and it’s definitely no Night Life, but it’ll do in a pinch. The obnoxious Celebrities/Paparazzi, Twilight vampires, cramped Bridgeport...no thanks. Especially with Boroughsburg out here just SHAMING EA. SHAME! I wish someone would remake Bridgeport as a cyberpunk world, that would be awesome. Otherwise most of LN is useless to me. :\

So basically, if I were to follow Toni’s S A B C D F ranking system, and classify TS3′s EPs based on its content quantity, and EA’s dedication to thematic cohesion, my list would be as follows:

S: Generations, Seasons, Supernatural

All radically overhaul the core mechanics of the game/world itself: age states, weather, and lifestates/occults.

A: World Adventures, Pets

World Adventures added 3 new worlds and cultures; and Pets added animals. It’s just arguable whether EA should’ve done more with them all or not.

B: University, Island Paradise, Into the Future

Chock-full of new activities & skills, but your mileage may vary.

C: Ambitions (AMB didn’t really come with as much as it should have)

D: Showtime (SHT included a lot, but not much of it made thematic sense)

F: Late Night (LN needed to commit to what makes a celebrity--music/movie/fashion/etc CAREERS--rather than the hollow lifestyle of a celeb)

phew! finally got to the end of generation one. it’s been a wild ride! it’s time to give Claire and Thomas the rest they deserve. Gary is going to live waay longer than these two, so we don’t need to worry about him:) 

this time we’re going to focus on the WORLD ADVENTURES expansion pack for the sims 3. honestly, i’ve been dying to explore this one. it brings so many memories... guess we’ll have a chance to revisit them.

Yes, social media are basically time-eaters who steal the time which could be spend on writing or simming. Recently I've unsubscribed from several Instagram pages dedicated to memes as they my flooded dash and I spent too much time on them. Last two days I've played TS3 world adventures on my laptop without internet connection and it was great

Ooh boy, if I was able to get rid of all the memes pages I follow, I’d have so much free time on my hands. But also, I mean...memes.

As for social media, I wish I could deactivate my Facebook account. I really wish. But sadly, all the people I know irl are there. I have to stay there to keep in touch with them. We still share a lot of school stuff there, I’d be lost without it. But those are the only reasons I’m there, I never post on it anymore. I actually deleted most of my photos and old status updates and unfollowed most pages.

I’m going to repeat myself here but I’m so glad I got rid of Twitter. I loved it there, but at the same time, it fueled my negativity. Even when I found and muted or straight up unfollowed the biggest sources of it, I wasn’t happy. So I just stepped into the daylight and let it go and it was the best decision I could make. Even though now tumblr will probably have to deal with my random thoughts. I need to find a special tag for that. Not just “nonsims” or “saviorhide”. Maybe “simmeronnie is losing it again”.

Ahh, no way! I hope you’re having fun even though it’s a total mess :D I have to agree though, I love Rachel, she’s awesome.

Watch out, tiny gen 4 rant coming. When I have nothing else to do and I feel inspired, I rewrite gen 4 because I love these characters and they deserve a way better story. I consider the stories they got in the legacy the first drafts/starting point/base or something like that. So in some way, most of this stays in the “new canon”, it’s just thought through better or changed a little bit.

Okay, that wasn’t really a rant but seriously, stop me whenever I seem like I’m about to start rambling about gen 4.

Don't let them get to you. Something I have learned as I've grown older: Hobbies come and go. One minute you'll find enjoyment in something and the next it doesn't hold the same appeal. Some times you'll come back to that hobby and some times you never pick it up again. Taking a break is something everyone needs. They even tell new parents to take a little "me time" so that they don't get overwhelmed. Taking a moment to collect yourself is understandable.

Taking breaks from tumblr is good for your sanity. I had to last month for the sake of my mental health I got stressed out falling behind here and dealing with job stuff. Just like for you with school, job takes priority over my blog. I’ve taken so many breaks, honestly it’s fun to enjoy other hobbies and do other things.

So I kinda didn’t want to address this anymore because I feel like I’ve said everything in my lengthy answer to that ask but I just wanna say thank you for writing all of this. I didn’t feel bad when I got this, the anon didn’t change my opinion, I still believe everyone has the right to take a break, leave tumblr behind for a bit and not feel sorry about it. Take that me time and come back better than ever (or not if you don’t feel like, that’s fine too)! I was still worried about posting this answer though. That sounds like a really fun way to spend your last day! At my school at least we had a Senior day where there were a bunch of games and activities. Good luck on your exams, and I hope you enjoy your last day and everything that is to come!

It was very fun and everyone looked so good in their costumes! One of my classmates wore this 20s-like dress and oooh boy. She was gorgeous. Just...leaving on that day was really bittersweet. Part of me was like “yas, we’re done with this place!” but the other part of me already missed it. And yeah, our teacher didn’t forget to remind us that all of us might never meet again. There are reunions, it’s a tradition, but there’s always someone who can’t come.

Okay, moving on or else I’ll start crying, and I’ve already cried a lot today. Looking at you, GoT episode 4.

Alright guys, I have an idea. Shoot me a message and we can talk about it! I’m down for this. Here’s just a brief description of everyone I can offer (in case someone else would like a sim and would like to know what they’re signing up for), we can talk more in depth in the messages later. I have one mean pink girl who loves robots, then this one that I’ve shown (she doesn’t have too much personality yet, but she hates her other sister and loves videogames), an agender person with pink skin, white hair and white eyes (loves animals and is the total opposite of their mean twinsister - and yet they’re still best friends somehow) and one pink boy with white eyes who just aged up into a child so I have no idea what he’s going to be like yet. I just remember he got the No Sense of Humor trait.

Can I have a wish though? If I send you one of these sims, would you please share with me the sim they end up with? I would love for them to get together in my game as well.

Side note, can you already tell my bpr is going to be a bigger mess than all my other legacies combined?

jumped back into ts3 earlier this year and created this beauty, edited off of an already premade sims uploaded to the simsresource ( i could never create anything close to cute in ts3 by myself ). i adored her but her world became corrupted. she was able to become a master acrobat and had just had a baby. i regret not taking more pics of her.  (ಥ﹏ಥ)  i’ve started another legacy though, and i plan on uploading her adventures on here, at least, once i create a proper banner.

I was tagged by @sullivanrandomness​ @delicatesoul88 & @simlishdistractions; I’ll be starting with Carla’s. You’re all about to know way more about me than you ever wanted to know! ;)

1) When you’re playing, do you have the game music on or off?

- I play with the sound on really low. Now and again I’ll pop it up for the ambiance of the seasons. I’m usually watching TV simultaneously or playing near people who are.

2) How long have you been playing your current hood?

- Somewhere around 2006/2007. It started as a legacy style hood, and then transferred to a prosperity inspired hood (sorta), and now it’s just a beast of its own accord.

3) Uh-oh! Your game just exploded: are you going to rebuild or start afresh?

- definitely rebuild. I have several times already, and have backups on several devices that span back a few years.

4) What is your favourite Sims version and why?

- TS2, seemingly now and forever. I’m rather attached to my hood and all the work I put into it over the years.

5) What’s an expansion you’d love to see that EA never did for any version of the game?

- I’ve spent way too many minutes thinking this over, I’m a total blank; I’m sure after I post this, something will come to me.

6) Do you use cheats (apart from building cheats) when you play?

- Absolutely! I have no shame to do what I want, and follow rules that I make for myself, and then break them if I feel like it. My biggest rule is to have fun, so if my favorite sim, Paloma dies while paying her bills, you can bet the Grim can bring her back. That just made no sense!

7) Do you consider yourself primarily a player, builder or decorator? Or other?

- All three. I won’t have fun playing unless its a building I enjoy, and decorated in a pleasing fashion.

8) Do you play pre-mades, your own sims or a mix?

- Mostly my own sims, with a handful of pre-mades in there. The Traveler family became the Langes (which their daughter born in the game, Brooklyn, just gave birth to the blond baby). I also have the Picasso family making messes, that is Riley and Jett’s story that I’ve been posting.

9) What is your favourite kind of business to run? Or what kind would you like to run, if your game version allowed it?

- I enjoy them all, but really enjoy selling goods like the Love + Flour bakery selling their cheesecakes, and Meg selling her family portraits, and I can’t forget the comic book store. But this is by a small margin, restaurants, coffee shops, and clubs are all fun to run.

10) If you were a sim, what would be your aspiration and lifetime want? Feel free to translate that to your own game version - I only speak TS2!

- Family primary, than a tie between knowledge/pleasure for secondary aspiration. No clue on LTW, I haven’t bothered to look at them in the game for years.

Now Laura’s questions:

1) What is your longest marathon simming session?

- I’ve played all day before, but I don’t have the concentration to actually play the entire time. I poke around on the web, and seek out snacks.

2) If you could visit one premade world as a real life place, which would it be?

I’m not familiar enough with any of the games but TS2 for the worlds. I suppose I’d say Twikkii island because I prefer the sun and ocean.

3) Tell me about a sim of yours who you were saddest to lose (death, game glitch or whatever…)

- Annie Carver. She’d made such poor choices and left behind Ella (a child), and twin infants. She never finished her story nor found her redemption.

4) If you could go back and change one thing about your simming, knowing what you know now, what would it be?

- For the love of Pete, not so many black haired sims!!! Geesh! I’m still paying the price of this!

5) Do you aim to give your sims a happy perfect life, or enjoy watching their struggle and misery? >:)

- In the middle. I try to follow sims want panels and have ROS to throw some added misery in, but quite a few of my sims will lead happy, well-adjusted lives.

6) What do you sip or snack on while you’re simming?

- coffee or wine, popcorn or tortilla chips with local salsa. I lean toward a salt-craving.

7) Do you own any pets?

- Heck yes, bunnies, kitties, a doxie, and a bernese, they all threaten to take over my instagram. I grew up with animals, and my parents now live on a farm, it seems too quiet without them.

8) What is your favourite food?

- Mexican food is where I gain my super powers. I blame my aunt who made the best food, and had the best family gatherings when I was growing up.

9) Do you play with cc or no cc?

- So much CC, beyond the amount of CC that I actually need, and yet I always want more. Currently resting at 15.3 GB. I’ve been using my Sims Pinterest for my downloading therapy instead of always adding to my game, thanks to Carla for that tip!

10) How often do you play the sims?

- It goes in waves. I can go weeks or even more than a month without playing at all, then I lose my mind, and clear a weekend so I can play.

Ideally, I try to sneak at least a few hours in one day a week, but it makes it difficult for me to stay caught up with whats new and happening in everyone else’s games. I follow quite a few of my tumblr favorites on feedly, so if you see me come through on a liking spree, that’s why!

Now to break my record, for longest post in the world, @delicatesoul88‘s questions! Some of these were asked above, so I won’t repeat those answers.

5. Have you ever made a simself (sim of yourself)? Pictures.

- In TS1 and TS3. In TS1 I shared it in the N99 forum, and it was fun to see the adventures mini Maisie got into. In TS3, I just wondered if I could. Zero pictures of these.

7. Do you play on a laptop or a desktop computer?

- desktop computer. I have TS4 on my MacBook but rarely play it.

8.  What is your favourite aspect of the Simblr community?

- Tons of great ideas, pretty sims and decorating, and all the wonderful CC that everyone shares.

9.  Besides tumblr, how else do you interact with the simming community?

- Tumblr, blogs, and N99 are pretty much it.

10. Lastly (this question is my favourite!) - Another simmer whose game you would love to have and why?

- Whatever world @jenba is creating, I’ve never been disappointed by her work, all the way back to her TS2 days. I have a thing for New England, and she encapsulates it perfectly. I’m still in love with her Chowder House for TS3.

I was tagged by @episims​. Yes. Yes I was. 

Your name: Noora. 

Languages you speak: Finnish, English. And some Japanese. Like I can understand and speak and write simple sentences and could probably hold a simple conversation.

Are you a mermaid?: I’ve loved mermaids ever since I was a kid. Like, no lie, I’ve always wanted to be one. I’m planning on having the 1975 Reader’s Digest version of the little mermaid tattooed at some point, it’s the one mermaid movie I have always loved. (Surprisingly, I have never been too into the Disney one. I love Part of Your World but that’s about it.) My first long story plans were mermaid stories.

Your play style: The best hoods and families I’ve had have always started in a spur of a moment. And I keep changing everything all the time, deleting lots and switching from subhood to subhood, but my sims stay! I grow ridiculously attached to my babies and play them with love. I love all the general gameplay aspects of the game: building and decorating and the gameplay itself. All of it. I play in weekly cycles. ALSO for someone who claims to love the game I play extremely rarely. But when I do, I play for several days straight.

Your favorite holiday: It’s a cliché, but out of all the holidays I do like christmas. The christmas eve is one of my favorite days in a year. 

How was your day?: Very good, actually! I woke up around 8 am after sleeping a little badly, but then I started the day by baking bread buns and continued on to do some school stuff that have been waiting for me to do them (university has been kinda overwhelming lately). In the evening we made pizza, I played some Fallout 4 and now I’m here. A good day, all in all! 

Your favorite career: I love so many! Criminal, definitely. Also Military and Law Enforcement. And Adventure!! And Paranormal. I can’t choose one. 

Your favorite aspiration: Knowledge and family. 

Your favorite EP, GP and SP: I think my favorite expansion is Nightlife. It was the first expansion I got. Out of stuff packs I’m gonna say the glamour one. The stuff packs aren’t anything special imo, though. 

How old is your simblr?: Oh, wow. I’ve made my first post in October 2015. It’s my 5 year anniversary this year! 

Have you WooHooed?: Sure.

Your favorite skill: To be honest, I like all of them equally. But I’m gonna say.... Fitness (Body?).

The size of your mods folder: 8,57 G! I was expecting it to be bigger!

Your 3 favorite mods: Most mods I have are fixes and stuff that remove annoying behaviour. Visitor Controller is new to me but it’s a life saver! Also I’ve really liked how the Romance mod is working in my game, but I have also been thinking about getting ACR. Other than that it’s hard to say. 

Your interests (other than Sims): Writing, drawing, video games.

But to be honest, I kinda wish to gain a new favorite sim some time soon, since Greta has now passed on from my game! Rayna Limestone is very close to being my favorite, and I have high hopes for Ruby Limestone once she grows up!

Which Sims games have you played (including mobile games)?: Games 1-4 on PC, however I gotta add I only used to play TS3 on my sister’s computer (even though I do own it and multiple expansions), and I never really got into TS4 (I only play it to recreate Greta for the millionth time lol). I LOVE the PS2 version of TS2 as well as The Urbz! I have the PSP version of TS2 as well, but I haven’t played it much. I’ve tried all the mobile games but tbh I hate them. Oh, and I bought Life Stories but I haven’t played it yet. 

Propose a crazy scheme: OMG I’m going to second epi’s idea: let’s break into the EA headquarters and steal TS2 source code. Just imagine what people could do with it. 

Best part of simblr: My experience has only been good, and I like the uplifting mood of the community. 

Worst part of simblr: To be honest, it’s the fact that Tumblr is not the ideal way to follow a lot of blogs, and I think it sucks that I don’t see all the content I want since I follow so many blogs. 

What other games you play?: Far Cry 5 has been my major obsession lately, but to name a few all time favorites: Saints Row 1-2, The Long Dark, Mass Effect, The Batman Arkham games, Dishonored, Skyrim. Lately I’ve been playing Fallout 4 and I’m still new to Bioshock (Infinite) and The Outer Worlds. I think there’s a theme here......... I like 1st/3rd person action/role playing games. To be honest I’m kinda picky with my games. It’s either love a game with all my heart or forget about it after first play. 

Other websites or accounts (Origin, Twitter, etc.): I guess only one worth mentioning is my Dreamwidth and I don’t even use it, lol. Whenever I get those simstories up and running they will be posted on Dreamwidth though! Also check out my personal blog @notsometownie​.

Are you single?: You know, I have never been an adult and single at the same time. And I’m 28. (Means me and gf have 10 year anniversary this year.)
