It's Padmé defending's hours for me

I have been seeing more negative (with very weird connotations, tbh) posts about Padmé on my dash lately, and while I'm a firm believer of the "scroll past it" rule, it really irks me a lot because MOST of these takes sound a bit mysoginistic to me and also (to me) shows a lack of trying to understand her as a character, not in a "you don't get her" way, but in a "you don't even try to understand the character and her context in the damn story just because you wanna sound holy than thou" way.

I'm all for accepting takes about Padmé's flaws or having a slightly more privileged/closed view (and that makes sense, she's aristocracy) but these people are SO WEIRD whenever they wanna talk about her 🤨

I'll forever mad that George eliminated SO MANY scenes with Padmé in the movies, but I feel like even if we had those scenes, people's complaints would be exactly the same.

But also i think half of the time people fail at understanding Padmé is because they're also failing to understand Anakin's as a character, idk

I think something that bothers me about how the writers handled Rebecca’s actions was that,,, not only were there no mentions of it afterwards save for like two jokes…but nobody was upset with her after she apologized. everyone moved on? The people who knew, anyways. There weren’t any consequences for her, really. higgins, julie, ted, keeley, they all moved on and acted like it wasn’t a big deal. whereas Jamie’s entire three season arc is consumed by his s1 actions. he had to fight tooth and nail to get back into the team’s good graces, to prove himself to the coaches and keeley and everyone. Even in s3, the coaches are shown to not value his growth and keep thinking of jamie “prick” tartt instead of seeing him as someone capable of being better and different. idk. It just bothers me that in a show about forgiveness and being better, rebecca only had to apologize and everything was forgiven, while Jamie literally could not Not be defined by how he was

#you know what I mean?#like if you watch s2 and s3 only then you’d have no idea what Rebecca did in s1 #WHICH WAS HORRIBLE??#but she was hurting!!! yes she was! and im not blaming the character im upset with the writing #same with Nate’s arc like he had to fight to fix himself and apologize and make it up #ted literally told beard to apologize and forgive him bc ted did that to him 20 years prior #but Rebecca just. apologizes and that’s it! never talked about again!#I think that would’ve added depth to sambecca. if Sam knew about her trying to sabotage the entire club!!#roy should’ve known. beard should’ve known. jamie still doesn’t know she sent him back to man city not ted #but there was NOBODY even a little upset with her that she tried to ruin the lives of several people??#I think they did keeley a bit of a disservice by having her forgive her off screen and have her not be upset anymore
