my sweet little baby man is no longer with us
#he had his bloodwork done yesterday and the vet said it was fine but he doesnt have much time left#and my bestie is a vet tech who wanted to see the lab results bc she always does and she looked at them#and asked me if she can shiw them to her boss today and i was like sure and immediately knew something was up#today keekki was being himself#then i went to run some errands and when i came back he was laying in front of the front door with his tiny baby head against it#and i was like ''oh ok one of his seizures?''#and theyre like. keekki will drool and not move and they usually last for like 20 minutes (several vets have no idea whats up with those#but it was probably either a kidney or a blood pressure thing)#anyways. it did not pass in 20 minutes so i Knew#i laid on the floor next to him#then my bff sent me a message asking me if i have the time to talk about keekki and its not good news#at this point i was about to call the vet anyways#and she was like ''ok i showed these to my boss (a vet) and she got super angry that ur vet even let you leave the clinic''#bc apparently keekkis bloodwork was so bad he should have been put down then and there but my vet was like a fresh half graduate#so i dont hold it against her. anyways i got an euthanasia appointment for this evening and spent the time before it laying on the couch#crying with keekki in my arms#i had to carry him bc he couldnt really walk without stumbling and falling down#when i had to get up to get his carrier and stuff ready he was taking a nap on the couch where i left him and i took this pic#anyways worst vet visit of my life i could hardly even do anything but nod half the time bc speaking results in me sobbing#anyways. this fucking sucks#i dont know how ill be able to sleep tonight#its been years since i last slept at home without having a little guy plop into my arms#i spent a long time with him in the vet room when he was gone#it feels surreal ive given him his last ever forehead kisses#as i left the room i told him bye the exact same way ive been saying bye to him for the last very many years ive had him#its always moikka keekki before i go to work or the store or literally anything#and that was my last moikka keekki#i hope he felt how loved he was#my dad is sending me older pics of me and keekki and he looks so happy in them. hes always right next to me#idk man im going to stop rambling now

i just want to report as a proud charli mom that she passed her advanced obedience & qualified for intermediate agility training yesterday; she’s also going to begin herding (w real sheep in addition to the dry herding she already does)! hopefully she’ll pass her CGC soon & we’ll get started on some competitions & titles by the fall 😌 my best girl
#i was so nervous she had such a hard vet visit for vaccines last week#so she’s been more reactive & harder to regulate#but she did SO good w her tests!! 🥺#i cried in the car afterward lmfao i was so relieved#charli#this post is like. mostly for my R+ friends if u do dog sports but yknow. she’s the best!

Emma had a big day today!! The chis got beans before dinner, so she practiced her tugging skills. It's still so much fun seeing her play like a real dog. 🥰
Then after dinner, I made trash enrichment for Addy, so I offered Emma a few paper balls of treats. I had to unwrap the first round, she was pretty unsure. After she got her nerve up, she started to nose through the paper a bit more! We tried some loose balls and she started to really get into it! She even worked up to a medium tight one before we finished.

Unexpected day off!!!
#so excited right now#but also kind of overwhelmed because there are about 5.7million projects that need to get done before winter and which one should I do?!?!?#I think I am going to Menard's to get the paint to do the back steps#it's literally PERFECT WEATHER today#I love all kinds of weather#except hot and humid#but if I had to pick one weather to have forever it would be 50* at night and 70* during the day#and that was yesterday and today and tomorrow and I those will be 3 of the 7 days of that weather we are allotted each year#so I am just soaking them up!!!#at home apparently!!!!#well except for going to Menard's#and the library to pick up my holds#and visiting Grandma because even though I saw her Saturday she called and made me feel guilty yesterday :-/#and taking the dog to the vet#but OTHER THAN THAT#I get to be home all day!!!#also need to stop and get some more sweet corn to go in the freezer#I have been making good progress doing a dozen at a time in the evenings when I have time#but I need more!!#oh and I have peppers to chop too#so many chores so little time#morning ramblings

#i am having the most hard time with myself ever#i dont feel nice with... me#i feel like i am the most annoying person in the whole world#why i am like this#i feel yucky with myself#i have to wash my hair but i am alone and puppy is in puppy jail and shes crying and i cant leave her alone for a long time cause it breaks#my heart to hear her cry#she has worms so thats also fun#but we already made visit to the vet#shes on medicine to get rid of them but oh my gosh the worms are so nasty#i cant even look at them and thank to my best friend that shes cleaning it up for me with no problem at all#maybe it adds to the things i am feeling#not only i do not feel well#heather also struggles with being in her puppy jail and not feeling good in her belly#ivycats31#i just want everything to be okay finally#i am so tried#i need to rest for 2 billion years again

Haven't been doing much with Emma or dogs this week after burning myself out a bit rescuing neglected small creatures at the beginning of the week.
But I have been noticing lately that she's been getting very confident at navigating and perching on the back of the couch! Excellent chihuahua behavior unlocked. She's also just getting more confident with moving around and on top of the humans on the couch. We've got to watch her bc sometimes this newfound boldness means she tries to nab your food if you're not paying attention. 😂
And on the food note, she's been doing very good at not showing guarding behaviors with our food over the past few weeks! We haven't done anything very specific with that, mostly just not sharing food while eating, enforcing being in her corner bed or on a different couch area while we have food, and not leaving food sitting around. I think her continuing to settle and grow confidence a little is helping as well.

sudden realization ive been taking wrong pills this entire week
#i was like bro this propranolol is shit im still having my migraines#and turns out shes been taking 10 mg pill thinking its 40 mg 🤣#not feeling too good tbh#my grandfather took a bird from his cat claws and instead of calling any authorities he just put it on top of the glasshouse#so the cats wpuldnt catch it but its mother vould find it??? grandpa its an adult bird the one flying around is a completely different spec#and when i tried calling the authorities nobody picked up#the bird cant use one wing and was only jumping for about 10 cms forwards#obv we are in the village and there is no rehabilitation centre for wild animals nearby i also have no car so i couldnt take it to the vet#and im taking a train in 3 hours anyway#left it some water with sugar in tbe container tho no idea if the bird will drink it at all#also wondering if tbe train im taking will derail (there were a few such cases today)#im also bitter because it seems my father has more fun while visiting his girlfriends daughter than with me. yes im jealous.#txt#edit: ok apparently the bird flew away tho wasnt there to see it

Princess Strawbzilla Update
I haven't mentioned her on here lately, but don't worry, Princess Strawbzilla fans - she's doing just fine! She's had a busy schedule of catching bugs, cuddling her humans, and spurning the hopeful advances of her Gentleman Caller (a friendly neighborhood ginger cat with one orange brain cell, which he used to go <3 - an effort which she did not appreciate one bit).
We recently celebrated our first year with the Princess (yay!) and today she went to the vet for a checkup and her shots. I'm delighted to report that my little Strawb is in great shape! The vet commented that she was extremely clean, her coat was in excellent condition, and she seemed very calm - and that she has lost two whole pounds in the last year, which is fantastic news. She's now down to 16lbs, still very cuddly but definitely more cat-shaped.
She is also up-to-date on her kitty vaccines and is once again licensed to practice being a kitty in the State of [Redacted].
The Princess sends her love to everyone (except her would-be suitor, who just gets angry "RRRRRRR" noises).

somewhat accidentally beta’d the start to akari’s first pokemon, fixed the start of misbis 3, and got started on another artfight project :) time to chill and read some manga before dinner, take care of the ponies, and then do a lil more artsy stuff before bed tonight. kayaking tomorrow!!!
#i love my horses so much but i am also finding much love for kayaking#when i finally move i'm absolutely going to need to find somewhere to kayak in the state i move to#new state priorities are 1. good horse vets 2. home pasture for the horses 3. kayaking#not that i dont love my vets where i am but i shit you not there are a total of 5 (minimum) vets for well over 1000 horses#possibly well over 2000#i would like somewhere with more vets so i am not desperately trying to make a vet visit or even just get in contact with one#and having to wait two or three weeks even just for a conversation#I WILL SAY THO!!!#if these vets know you they know you#when i put simon down they sent me a memorial card (i'm sure they do that for plenty of people but it still meant a lot)#the vet who did the surgery on maevus when she was a baby will ask me how she's doing if i'm in with a different horse#they're good vets and they're also good people
