Okay, so. I have the week from Christmas to New Year's off. And I have no holiday plans. So I'm thinking it could be fun to spend some time writing some drabbles because I REALLY miss writing fan fiction. So feel free to send me prompts. My fandoms haven't changed but as a refresher:

Besides clintasha do you have any other ships marvel and none marvel

No other ship besides Clintasha has quite enraptured me in the way they have which I wholeheartedly attribute to the amazing chemistry between Scarlett and Jeremy. As soon as Clint uttered Tasha I was hooked. And I’ve been stuck there ever since.

I’ve tried to flirt around with other ships in other fandoms namely Reylo

(Kylo Ren and Rey from the sequel trilogy but JJ Abram’s killed my mom and ran over my dog with The Rise of Skywalker and I haven’t been able to find the same level of enjoyment out of the franchise since, obligatory fuck you to JJ!)

and oddly enough Sherlolly

(Sherlock and Molly Hooper, another obligatory fuck you to Moffat, the lazy writing for the last season felt like the equivalent of getting shoved in a locker and called a nerd so my love for Sherllolly is now strictly regulated to A03).

But alas they haven’t had the same staying power as my beloved duo.

There’s something so enthralling about their relationship that I don’t think I will ever be able to accurately portray on page, but that hasn’t stopped me from writing 170,000 and counting in an effort to do so!

I find some other pairing particularly thought provoking even though I hardly read about them nor do I look for such content. I can understand the appeal but it just doesn’t get me excited as Clintasha does.

These pairings include: Stucky (very interesting dynamic and I totally get the appeal, I would’ve preferred that over canon Peggy/Rogers (I just find her character annoying and uninspired imo, tired almost. Let Steve move on, ya know?),

RomanRogers (I get it, she’s Russian, he’s a stand in for America. It’s the Cold War but make them fuck, but I just don’t personally find Chris Evans that attractive. I prefer men who are not conventionally attractive. He’s almost too pretty. For me personally)

and Kate Bishop and Yelena (I don’t know the ship name for this one so if anyone knows that would be cool. I think it has the potential to get me invested but I doubt Marvel will give it the needed depth for it to capture my attention in the same way as Clintasha. If perhaps it can be twisted in a way that it doesn’t quite mirror Clintasha then I could be on board but I doubt Marvel will go that route.

Oh and Yelena and Bucky (weird I know but it lets me have my cake ((Clintasha)) and eat it too ((a Winterwidow equivalent)). If I were to ever indulge in this particular ship Yelena would have to be significantly different and diverge from her MCU counterpart.))

So TLDR other ships that I find interesting enough to read/engage with: Reylo and Sherlolly

Ships that I find intellectually stimulating but otherwise would not specifically seek out but am okay if a minor pairing or otherwise mentioned: RomanRogers, Stucky, Yelena and Kay and Yelena and Bucky.

Again would like to reiterate for the class that these are all my personal opinions and are meant to be subjective. My personal thoughts and opinions are not an attack on you personally because to be frank: “I don’t even know you kid!”

Let’s spread the self-love 💗 (i don't know if you do these sorts of chain-letter things, or if you'd prefer not to, but for my part i do like to know which of their works a given author is especially hype on, so consider this an opportunity to gush!)

Well I've only got 6 fics available online so it's going to be easy to answer that LOL I used to have more, all Reylo fics, but one day I took them all off because 1) they were my first and last experience at writing "AUs" aka at playing dolls with characters I never really shipped in their canon universe (sorry for those who like them but I really don't get the popularity of that ship) 2) they were constantly snubbed so I thought I was a hack who couldn't write. Wrong fandom + imposter syndrome = I woke up one morning and went through a destruction phase. I kept the fics in my docs though. There's one I think I could convert into an original story.... One day 🤣

But back to the subject: I'll start to class them by personal preference rather than by fandom, so sorry if it looks a bit messy... Like the inside of my head haha.

Rise and Shine (The Sandman/Sweetbitter crossover)

I wrote this one as a gift for Tom Sturridge 💜 There was a girl on Twitter who had the wonderful idea of putting together a book containing fan art, fan letters and short fics, with the purpose of giving it to Tom when she'd meet him at the Basinkton Con. So I came up with this one shot, where Jake from Sweetbitter meets Dream of the Endless. Definitely my favorite work.

2. Lost Souls (Sweetbitter)

It's an unfinished project but it's my 2nd favorite fic. I just love this story and even though it's quite clear that I lost my audience lately, probably because I spend too much time on my characters' personal story and not enough on the romaaaaance for most of fanfic readers, I like very much the direction it's taking. I'm actually considering dropping it as a fanfic and turning it into an original novel. Lately I've been sick as hell and unable to write a line, but I thought a lot about this fanfiction thing: I don't get the hang of it. I tried, and tried, but I can't seem to grasp what the average fanfic reader wants. And Lost Souls, well, with a few changes I think I can easily make it an original story. Not to mention that "Jake", yikes.... I really don't like that name. Anyway, I love this fic.

3. Dream a Little Dream of Us (The Sandman)

It's my version of "Johanna Constantine, Nuala the Elf and Hob Gadling walk into a bar..." Except it's happening after Morpheus' death, and they're all dreaming. It's a very sweet fic that I wrote for Sandtober 2023 and I like it very much:

4. It's So Cold (Sherlock, platonic Sherlolly)

I warned you it would be messy, didn't I? 🤣 For this one I put myself in Molly Hooper's shoes and tried to imagine remember how it felt to be in love with a man who doesn't love me.

5. Bitter Sweet Lullaby (The Sandman, Dream x OC)

This short "story" is in fact an excerpt from the Sandman fic I began writing several months ago but that I have reworked so it would stand on its own for Sandtober2023.

It tells a part of Dream's past, where a fae named Eleanora, the princess of Faery, made Dream happy. I'm sorry I can't tell you more about her and what happens to her because it would spoil the fun to come, except that she is post Endless Nights and pre-Vortex but pre-Titiana and pre-Alianora.

In this scene I also include Larri Bea’s lovely song ‘Dream’s lullaby’; as it was written specifically for Dream, it gave me the idea of having it sung to him by the woman he loved :)

I haven't found an alternative to the dead Sherlolly ao3 feed I mentioned the other day. Anybody else have any luck?

I don't remember how I set up @ao3feed-benoitxmarta ; but last time I checked, the Cablanca feed was still updating. However, a Reylo feed I followed randomly stopped last March (even though another one is still going); so I have no idea if mine will last.

I really, really don't want to try to stumble my way through making another one of those automated ao3feed things; but I also want to know about new fics, so please tell me someone else has already done it?

Hello! 🤗 I saw an old post which was an interview with you, and one of the questions asked was about your past ships. You mentioned both Reylo and Sherlolly, and I honestly freaked out because as a KakaSaku shipper myself, the other two ships were my past ships too, especially Sherlolly — I can expect Reylo, but not Sherlolly because I didn't think anyone from there would ship KakaSaku too so it was a pleasant surprise!!! 🥹 Am wondering: do you still hold a candle to them, especially Sherlolly since the TV series ended years ago? 😄

Oh wow, I don't even remember that interview! 😅 I still love Reylo and Sherlolly, although I have not visited either of those fandoms in quite a long time. I spend most of my limited reading time in the Naruto fandom nowadays to try to support other writers in this fandom, but I have spent a little time in some game fandoms, like Fire Emblem Three Houses, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age. I also have fun reading whatever my friends give me to beta, so I've done a little My Hero Academia as well!

But you have given me a renewed interest in Sherlock! I might have to take a swim in that fandom this holiday weekend. 😃 Thanks for the blast from the past!

Just thinking about the fact that both my big OTPs have climactic scenes that haters like to either say came out of nowhere and didn’t make sense, or that it meant something different from its very obvious and straightforward meaning. And I just feel like there’s something almost more gratifying about those ships and moments that are so screamingly obvious, and yet not everyone can see it. Kinda makes it more special, like it’s only for us. ☺️

Got this lovely calendar that I can place on my table, and I'm glad I'll be able to follow the upcoming months with it while looking at your gorgeous Sherlolly art! And your artbook is a delight to peruse as I spot some of your older art while looking in awe at your newer ones!

Dare I say, I also noticed small differences between your older and newer art, but your style remains the same, which somewhat gives me a comforting feeling; I've lurked in the Sherlolly fandom while the TV show was still active, and to see you draw Reylo was a surprising change to me, but your Reylo art was one of the reasons why I decided to give it a try, and now I'm knees-deep in Reylo too!
