Damian: [Shoves a toothbrush into said shadow move and starts brush]

The shadow: [Pauses before starting to let out a contented purr]

Damian then spits out the foam and washes out his mouth, then makes the shadow do the same and then picks out pjs.

Damian: [Currently decided if he should go with the cat, dog, or knife imprinted one]

The shadow: [Starts getting dangerously close to Damian with, toxic green spirals it calls eyes]

Damian: [Throws the dog imprinted one behind him at the shadow and takes the cat imprinted one for himself and tells the shadow to put it on]

The shadow: [Stares at the clothes before hesitantly putting them on before letting out a noise of distress]

Damian: [Turning around to find the shadow somehow stuck in the pjs, lets out a sigh, then starts to help them fit]

Damian then moves over to the bed, he points to one side and tells the shadow to go there. The shadow listens, laying down as Damian also lays down, grabbing the sheets and covering them both.

It barely took a few seconds for the shadow to fall asleep, and Damian stared at it. Damian wasn't quite sure why the shadow of his dead twin was following him, nor why it was even able to and seemed to hide itself from anyone who isn't Damian.

Nobody besides him knew about it, and Damian decided that he liked it. This could have been his younger brother, if the other had survived, and they would have probably been told to fight to the death to decide an heir.

At the very least, that won't ever happen.

Even if his brother was slightly unusual.

Danny did not remember much of the before, he remembered people with blurred faces and features, blurred colors. He remembered a lot of colors, then red, then white, then pain.

He doesn't like pain, he believes.

Then he remembered going to sleep, and then he woke up. It was dark and slimy and cramped when he woke up, especially when he realized someone else was in their with him.

Then he fell asleep again, then woke up to that same dark and slimy place, then fell asleep again, all in some weird cycle. Then, moving, and pain.

It hurt, and he was sluggish when it eventually stopped. Then came pain again, and he was asleep.

Then he woke up, again.

He didn't know what was happening, wasn't really aware of too. But he woke up next to the other who was in that dark and slimy with him, and decided he wanted to stay with them.

He wasn't aware enough for most of the things that happened when Damian grew up, but he still stayed regardless, and hide from everyone else.

Danny loves his brother, and he thinks his brother loves him too. Even if he was slightly unusual.

He didn't know how far he had wandered. He had just kept running and running, for once glad of his newfound body's constitution. But now he was finally tired and he doubted his pursuers were close by (if they were even looking for him anymore). So for now, he found an abandoned warehouse, bundled up under a tarp, and rested.

Wally had been scouting the area for the enemy when he found the boy. He'd noticed a particularly weird shaped clump in the corner and when he removed the tarp, he found a body. At first he thought the body was dead since he had no pulse and was cold to the touch. But then the boy suddenly sat up causing Wally to have to back up (he did not yelp from the sudden movement thank you very much).

The boy backed up towards the warehouse wall and pulled his knees to his chest as he studied Wally. For his part, Wally studies the boy back. He was clad in a black suit with golden accents and more knives that Wally was comfortable with. His golden avian eyes seemed to bore into the young hero. They seemed to size Wally up as opposed to being full of fear. Additionally, despite being huddled away in hiding the boy displayed no signs of fear. Overall it felt less like he was cowering away and more like he was silently judging him. Wally really didn't like how it felt like this kid would slit his throat if given the chance.

As the two continued their staring contest, Wally felt a gust of wind and Barry was suddenly by his side. "Kid Flash, what's up? You weren't answering your co-" Barry trailed off as he noticed the boy.

He side glanced at Wally but the sidekick only shrugged back. Barry stepped forward. The boy tensed, muscles suddenly tight and body ready to spring. Barry quickly put his hands up.

"We don't want to hurt you," He said. "Quite the opposite actually. We're heroes, we can help."

The body blinked long and slow at him, before finally his body seemed to uncoil. He gracefully got to his feet and neared the pair, circling around them once before stopping in front of them with a soft smile.

Wally returned it with a smile of his own. "So uh- why are you here? Is someone chasing you or something? Wait, what's your name first?"

The boy's face crumpled into something sad before he pulled down the collar of his suit to reveal a scar running across his throat. Oh. Both heroes side glanced each other at the same time, a silent communication shared between them. The bats? The bats.

rare dark cave encounters

im not very good at creating personalities for my pokémon, but here's the sketches of personality i have thus far:

gylfie is rather asocial with the rest of the crew. she doesn't antagonize anybody, but she strongly enforces her boundaries when she feels they're violated, often because someone intruded on her personal bubble or stole from her food dish. she wants to make friends, but the only two pokemon she even vaguely gets along with are charmont the cyndaquil and reginald the dunsparce.

reginald is the dad friend. he gets along with just about everybody and everybody likes him in return. being the bulkiest pokémon in the sub-level-20 crew, he'll do whatever it takes to make sure they don't faint in battle. if any squabbles break out, he's the one to break it up and console the most aggrieved party. everyone likes sitting near him while he sunbathes, but he makes sure to get one-on-one time with gylfie, who can be rather jealous of her dad friend.

I keep seeing them freaking out over shit that USAID was spending what is effectively chump change on, like it is some massive source of fraud. First, I don't think that word means what they think it means. Second, all of the shit they are freaking out about seems like a good thing. Like, I'm happy we are trying to fight disease in Africa, or promoting sexual health abroad, or trying to make the world less sexist.

last night i finished watching an 8:11 playthrough (slight spoilers?)

First if you haven't heard of this game, PLEASE GO PLAY IT. Second, I honestly have so many thoughts on this game. first of all the art is BREATH TAKING, I genuinely felt so inspired to draw at least every 10 minutes. The story, beautiful. The queerness that doesn't feel like it's only there for the sake of the fans, beautiful. THE QUEERNESS THAT ISN'T FULL ON QUEER-BAITING THE AUDIENCE WHILE ALSO NOT HAVING RYKER AND ACCARDI ACTUALLY BE TOGETHER, fucking gorgeous. everything about this game feels so well balanced and that says a LOT, especially with it being an indie (to my knowledge) game. there were so many parts that were so beautifully written and every character felt very fleshed out. it was such an amazing game to witness. As a person who has quite a bit of religious trauma, I was really worried about watching a playthrough because I was afraid that the language or imagery might be triggering to me. (I cannot step into a church without feeling extremely anxious as well as not believing in ANY god(s) ) But this game does a really great job of not making the audience feel like god IS real. I think that it was really meaningful to me because 1. it helped the anxiety i have around it and 2. it gave room for Ryker to struggle with their religion. Especially in the scene where Leon and Ryker are in the tent and Ryker starts to feel like shit. It really stuck out to me how Leon's prayer didn't outright fix the problem but instead it reduced Ryker's anxiety. I don't know why exactly it stuck out to me to be honest- but it really did to me. over all this game is truly one of the most enjoyable I have seen in a while despite it's dark themes and I fell in love with every character along the way. thank you so much @du-buk for this game and all the hard work you put into it. It has actually brought me so much joy, and as a queer person whose relationship with religion is shit, it has also made me feel more comfortable with myself in a way. It made me feel like I wasn't crazy or wrong for feeling the way I do without blatantly just hating on religion in general. Like all aspects of the game, it made me feel balanced. So thank you so so so SO much for this game. It really has made a positive impact on me these few days of being in the fandom. (also im sorry for the @, i just rlly wanted you to know how much I appreciated the game-)

And to anyone reading who hasn't looked into 8:11 PLEASE DO. It will be very much worth it. AT LEAST LOOK AT THE ART OMGSH IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL.

steve facts we know from canon if you’re willing to actually pay attention to his character:

his interest in his hair. (which you tried to frame negatively?). also just his appearance in general. we know steve puts a lot of focus into the way he looks (e.g. him refusing ice cream in s3 because he’s watching his figure). “hair” isn’t just one thing we know about him. it informs us about other aspects of steve’s personality. he doesn’t care about using “girls” hairspray, but he also doesn’t want other people to know about it. he’s very conscious about the way he’s perceived by others, but he’s also willing to put that aside when he wants to help people! he teaches dustin how to do his hair and helps him with it!!

sports. (odd that you reduce this down to just “sports”). once again “sports” isn’t just one singular trait. steve likely has a routine in sports, it’s likely part of him maintaining his appearance, along with the hairstyle and not eating ice cream. we know he was in basketball, he had a baseball trophy in his room, he was a swimmer (and good at it!!!). these are his hobbies!!! (they may not be d&d, but they’re still hobbies!!!)

now. if you pay attention to the music steve listens to in canon, it’s very easy to realise that he likes rock music!!! obviously some songs depend on whether they’re diegetic or not, but either way that’s the genre steve mostly listens to. queen. corey hart. modern english (more alternative rather than rock, but we move!). etc.

again. if you pay attention to canon it is very easy to gather that steve enjoys tom cruise movies. risky business. all the right moves. he also explicitly states four movies he enjoys in s3! star wars (the one with the teddy bears), animal house, fast times and back to the future. (though admittedly with the last we know he was high while watching and may not have gone to see it again). we also know that he knows michael fox by alex p. keaton. which means he watches family ties!! at least well enough to know his full name.

“girls” is an odd choice of a trait to list but sure!! steve’s relationships are actually important in understanding steve more deeply. in s3 we see he’s striking out more and feeling like shit about it because he feels like an embarrassment. he hates his job. he hates that he didn’t get into college. he hates the stupid outfit he has to wear. he feels humiliated!! he feels like if he can do something, if he can flirt with a girl and she reciprocates, he’ll regain something he’s lost. but by s4 we see he’s over casual sex and he wants something deeper and more meaningful! that does say something about his character if you care enough to think about it for more than five seconds.

eddie does not have more inherent depth as a character than steve does, you’re just more willing to extrapolate canon into telling a story with eddie than you are for steve.

i can reduce eddie down to two traits if i ignore everything those two traits tell me too, look:

music and d&d. there. i just summed up eddie munson. seriously.
