School can be stressful, but he doesn’t know anything that can trigger this. The only thing that helps are the nights when he can watch VHS tapes at Shu’s, a distraction Juro never takes for granted. It’s Shu’s hand on him now, Shu staring down at him with worried eyes, Shu’s hair lit up by the ambient light of the TV behind him like a halo. Juro blinks, and the vision remains, like Shu’s some sort of angel sent to rescue him from himself.

a/n: i'm really missing 13 sentinels: aegis rim recently and i'm so close to replaying it 🤧

shu amiguchi had to be the most popular boy at sakura high school! 

everyone wanted to either be his friend or his lover, yet you were the only one he had eyes for

which meant that everyone else's eyes were also on you, due to amiguchi being your boyfriend

and most people had nothing nice to say about you, envying you for dating the boy they wanted to be with instead

even the guys were talking badly about you behind your back, to impress the girls they liked

it started to become so bad that people weren't even hiding it anymore, talking badly about you in front of your boyfriend – and sometimes even yourself! 

of course, amiguchi got angry as soon as he heard his supposed friends talk badly about his significant other

and while you just quietly took the mean comments, amiguchi got up and defended you!

"what did you just say about y/n!?" he glared at the guy who had just mocked you, causing him to stop laughing and growing quiet

"you won't talk about them like that again, you got me? mock them again and you'll regret it…"

the guy tried to laugh it off and pretend he was just joking around, but amiguchi kept glaring at him, until he caved in and quickly applogized to you

after he did that, amiguchi stopped glaring at him and instead grabbed your hand

"let's find another group to sit with!" he smiled at you, such a soft expression on his face when he looked at you that it was hard to believe he could ever be intimidating to anyone…
