I got inspired by a titkok I saw this morning that said Peeta would be obsessed with Minecraft and TikTok, I couldn’t help myself. 🩵

Minecraft

Peeta’s your biggest fangirl, watching you play video games in awe.

This inevitably leads to introducing minecraft to him… and it’s safe to say he’s addicted!

You both have matching skins.

It starts off with a multiplayer minecraft world, you teach him the basics, laughing when he dies from fall damage.

“It’s not funny!” He pouts.

The first night is actual torture.

You best believe he’ll be shrieking at the mobs.

“HELP ME!”

(Although he’s a fighter irl I’d imagine him to be a useless defender in minecraft, but at least he tries)

Would sacrifice himself for you if you were under attack.

After the first night he’d ensure to make a house for you both.

He’d cry when a creeper blows it up.

You thought he gave up building until you see a small cottage made of birch and cherry wood the next day.

It’s decorated with a wheat farm and animal pen at the side.

“Do you like our house?” He types in chat, crouching up and down at you.

Would giggle when he places his minecraft bed next to yours.

Has every cat and dog he can find.

He’d totally make an animal sanctuary for them, after you complain they take too much space in the cottage.

Definitely makes a bakery where the price for bread is a kiss (only if it’s from you)

Peeta is definitely the flower gatherer.

Don’t be surprised when Peeta whacks you, throwing your favourite flower onto the ground.

“For you :)” is all he’d say before running away into your shared cottage.

You think his antics are cheesy, but you wouldn’t have it any other way. :)

Definitely the biggest contributor to his 20+ hour screen time a week.

He’d insist on having a matching pfp with you.

If you say no his pfp would just be his favourite picture of you. “You’re just so pretty baby!”

Apart from bakery accounts you’d be the only person he follows. He doesn’t understand why that makes you so happy.

I’m a firm believer that he wouldn’t indulge in the tiktok thirst traps.

He’d probably block the people making them because the only person he wants to see in that way is you. 🥲

If you posted dancing tiktoks of your own he’d watch it over and over again in awe.

“You look beautiful!” He’d comment. (alongside the other 25+ comments of him admiring you)

Would actually go feral if he saw you make a thirst trap of your own.

His response would totally be: “Gnawing at the bars of my enclosure”. It’s inevitable he becomes victim to the tiktok language at this point, especially when he hears it from you.

Results in Johanna commenting under his comments, telling him to go and touch grass.

He’d get pouty at this, it’s not his fault you’ve got him acting out. :(

A big fan of the “things to do with your partner” videos.

“This reminded me of you”

Would tag you in videos along the lines of “which orange cat am I?”

Leads to a rabbit hole of watching funny cat videos.

His favourites are the cat pov videos, but he equally loves watching animal rescue videos.

He’d stumble across those baby sensory videos (the ones with the vegetables) and unironically be watching them for an hour.

Tiktok would also give him massive baby fever.

“Just the one baby, please!” “Peeta no.”

He’d send you many baby fever videos in hopes it changes your mind.

He’s a sucker for the couple TikTok trends.

“We need to do that together!”

Secretly wants to make a dancing tiktok with you.

Has a private folder full of your reposts, specifically the ones about your special interests so he can educate himself on what you care about.

“No way! I didn’t know you were a Taylor Swift fan!” (his private folder says otherwise) 👀

Results in him becoming obsessed with your special interests.

Peeta would obviously be consumed by breadtok, having thousands of saved videos in his favourites.

You’re no longer surprised when you visit and see his tiktok inspired creations.

“I saw it on tiktok!” He’d beam.

Would definitely start a colony of sourdough after seeing the “100 year old sourdough starter” trend.

Keeps up with the tiktok cake drama (if yk yk)

Scared of the yo ho sea videos (he’d never admit it)

Shits himself when you’re near bodies of water and you start singing it.

However he still watches them to tell you interesting sea facts.

Nobody can convince me that he doesn’t religiously watch the Reddit AITA videos with minecraft parkour or subway surfers in the background.

Gets heated when the person is actually the asshole.

“How could they do that?” “They suck!” “I’d never do that to you baby!”

You laugh, a small smile on your lips because it’s true, he’d never do that to you.

Additional headcanons

Peeta makes a world on the sims, spending hours ensuring you and him look like yourself in real life. In his world you and him are happily married, having multiple babies together and a few pets. He uses the sim world almost as a manifestation of the life he wants with you, as he genuinely sees you both spending the rest of your lives together.

Has a private tumblr account that acts as his diary, he often recalls his day with you, and if that day is particularly good he makes his entries in the same formation as a fan fic (He’s just that whipped) :)

(Released) My all time favourite is The Fernweh Saga by @lacunafiction - it's just genuinely so good and it always gives me the vibes of one of those shows you watch after dinner, that becomes part of your routine and you want to see desperately what happens after, and the characters become part of your memories, almost like people. It's just UGH such a good IF. If you like nostalgic hometown horrors, this IF is for you.

(Released) Very close favourite is Blood Moon by @barbwritesstuff - WEREWOLVES GUYS!! I've replayed this game so many times. It's one of those games that after you finish, no matter how long of a break you take from it, you always return to it. I love the "found family" of this game, even though it's not really found, it's just... family. I miss them! The romance in this story is also written so beautifully.

(Released) Another fav is The Golden Rose by @anathemafiction - it was one of my favs while it was still in WIP and after it's released I took so long to play it cause I never wanted to finish it. Like, I grew so attached to its story that I didn't want to let it go. 😭 Very well written characters and the descriptions of things, places, feelings, expressions, mannerisms, is so endearing and eye-catching, never a second where I skipped a line, I was CAUGHT. If you like a story with ominous beginnings, middles and ends, this is for you, not to mention the whole religion themes that are so interesting to dive into.

(Released) I miss this one so much but The Soul Stone War by @intimidatingpuffinstudios - there's two books out for this one already and each one is better than the previous. It's fantasy and about powers and there's a dragon lady that you can romance, and the POLY IN THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! Very soulmate-y romance and just generally captivating storytelling.

(Released) Nothing will ever hit the same as The Passenger by @the-passenger-if - there's just something so familiar, so memorable about this story. I don't think in my next lifetime I will ever forget it. It's about an eldritch horror battling with humanity and it's raw primal role as a monster. It feels short but only because you're so into it that time passes you by, but the tone and the flow of this story is very well done (as well as the characters! 🥰).

(WIP) I feel like everyone and their mothers know about Infamous by @infamous-if - but I'm going to talk about it anyways. It's a BAND IF, yes, music, yes, adrenaline, fame, and all the bad decisions that come with it. It's only one chapter out right now, but it's very worth it. I guarantee you the brainrot you will get from this game is going to consume your life.

(WIP) A somewhat popular one as well is Body Count by @bodycountgame - I haven't seen a game do the whole modern reality TV show with a tinge of horrifying brutal horror as well as Nell has, and even though it's still in its early stages, it's very well done and interesting. Lots of ROs to choose from, and genuinely funny humour to laugh about in between the crying sessions of a favourite character dying.

(WIP) Haven't heard that many people talking about this one to be fair but Chop Shop by @losergames - Also a very early stages game, but it's very adrenaline inducing and has so much potential that has me shaking in my seat. I'm already half in love with the cast and I can't wait to go need for speed and play a super chaotic individual.

Also any game by @hpowellsmith, they're amazing at creating consistent well written stories that have such great characters and even better representation. They do it so well, and I've been a fan of them for years now, definitely one of my role models!

I'm sure there are many more IFs out there that you NEED to play/read, but my mind is blank right now, and these are the only ones I could think of. I also don't have as much time to get into an IF, but I'm getting there (thinking of getting into Shepherds of Haven - which you should!)

Why do you personally ship, like, or appreciate Sonamy? What got you into Sonamy? What’s your favorite moment between the two?

Why do I ship Sonamy?

Okay, ima admit it..for someone who is a diehard sonamy fan, and thinks about AND ONLY about them literally every waking second, I can not think of ONE reason why I ship them to begin with….

“So you just ship them for basically no reason WHY?!” Pretty much 😅

And I’ve seen so many other people give their really good reasons and opinions on why they ship sonamy, and I full on agree with ‘em, but as for myself, I rack up nothing…and it’s my favourite ship too I mean come onnn TwT

I’ve also had my sister ask me this same question not long ago, and all I could do was just sit there and think “Damn your life almost revolves around these 2 HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE AN ANSWER?!” I constantly beat myself up for this because I know I should 😭

And I mean, stuff like being the dynamic duo that they are, (whether in battle or not) their attitude and affection for each other evolving over time, respecting the other’s wants and needs, respecting boundaries (kinda the same thing tbh lol) , enjoying each others company, and just how the whole idea of sonamy has turned from what some people may see as “toxic” or “forced” (that might be the better word for it) from early 2000s media, to something more laid back and healthy like recent media because of all the character development over the years… etc, etc…are all fantastic reasons, and even reasons I would now apply as to why I love the ship even more…BUT they’re not the reasons I began to ship them in the first place, because these things I NEVER took into consideration when I starting doing so.

To put a long story short, I just saw pink and blue hedgies and was like, “ooooh I sense chemistry”

I feel like I could be going no where with all this. But all I’m tryna say is that I LIKE sonamy simply because of who they are…just a speedy blue boi and his hammer-wielding pink girlie. I APPRECIATE them solely because of their existence, especially in my life. They are like- one of the few things I ever look forward to these days. I SHIP them because unlike any other ship that has sonic or amy in it, sonamy just… “works” (I don’t know how to explain it but you know what I mean right??) And despite not being canon, (YET! 😏) they have got to be the closest ship to becoming canon (besides vectilla) ..unless I’m just biased :p

What got me into Sonamy?

Well, I did kinda just answer this in the previous question lol but I have to elaborate!

So yeah it started off with just seeing them 2 together and thought “I like where this is going hehe” tho tbh it never really went anywhere…because I was watching Sonic Boom at the time XD, the first piece of Sonic media I consumed since regaining an interest in the franchise. AND WE ARE NOT going back to like 2015 or 16 when I first discovered Sonic…idek what I did regarding shipping back then…I think I like shipped blaze and shadow or something OH LAWD-

Also to think that those short lived Sonamy moments in Boom didn’t even bother me in the slightest?! Present me is disgusted by such lack of interest or care! 😫

Okay okay I’m straying from the question, I’m sorry!!

There are a few things that got me hooked on Sonamy. First was definitely the tv series’. Boom, Prime and X all had adorable and wholesome moments that I could’ve almost died of cuteness from! Some of it was also hilarious too. In Sonic boom for instance, sonic and Amy would fight like a married couple lololol

Another thing (and this was the game changer) was the fanart and animatics. These became the addiction for me; one comic would lead to me reading another, which lead me to read another and so on. Or I’d find an animatic on YT and watch that and then begin scavenging trying to find more animatics to feed these cravings of sonamy I was beginning to gain all of a sudden.

And it just got worse and worse to the point I practically need a daily dose of Sonamy or I just might go feral

But I mean, how could I not?! YOU GUYS ARE SO GOSH DARN TALENTED AKJDJSJDND

Sadly now my food hath runneth dry over the months…so if any of u like come across anything sonamy pls don’t hesitate to tag me or send it to me pls I need it ajhshsjs

On top of all that, came the brainrot. My growing love for this ship and all the incredible media really sent me into a serious Sonamy delulu era. Literally almost ANYTHING can send me into deep thoughts about those 2, no kidding. I literally planned out in my head an entire story of them a couple days ago. Sometimes it’s a head canon or 2, other times just something extremely wholesome I’ll imagine them do and I’ll be deceased. Those rats live in my head rent free omg-

As I said, ANYTHING can trigger this brainrot; a song, a scene, a quote, a random object…you name it, I’ll come up with a Sonamy headcanon in relation to it.

I can’t also forget other sonic media that also boosted it like game cutscenes and IDW. Lately IDW has been CARRYING it for me with the little Sonamy moments like in the 900th adventure, #67 and other tidbits I’d find in former issues. The amount of frames I’ve seen of them hugging warms my heart waaa🥺🥺

Overall, this fandom has really impacted me and my love for Sonamy. (and sonic in general) all the things I’ve learnt and discovered have made me love them all the more because of it. My life has almost become an Sonamy aesthetic now…I am NOT joking when I tell you my PJs are Sonamy coded, and that was hardly intentional…🤣

Obey Me! fans, we need to talk.

First, the cards.

Lucifer = 33 UR/UR+

The devs clearly have favoritism for Lucifer. So many Lucifer cards keep rolling out and not only is it happening so often, but it's incredibly unfair for all fans of the game. He has the biggest fanbase and they've been taking advantage of that for more money. It's annoying for the fans waiting for other characters and for Lucifer stans who want these cards but can't keep up. Lucifer has had 4 URs in the last 2 months. FOUR.

Which brings me to my next point:

Events.

Not only have the events become repetitive and boring following the same formula over and over, but the devs are constantly pushing out events back to back. It's exhausting and time consuming. Fans have very little time in between events to prepare and even with all the preparation in the world before and during the event, they still might not get the rewards they want.

Money.

I know that you don't need to spend money on this game, but I'd like to touch upon this topic nonetheless. Obey Me has become incredibly reliant on gambling more than ever. From the Celestial Blessing loot boxes with no summoning odds listed, to expensive Charge Missions, to some players having to do over £200+ worth of Nightmare summons just to get that one card they want and VIP monthly membership. At the end of the day I understand that this is a company, but when the previous enjoyment starts to dissipate and corporate greed takes over players will want to quit.

The game itself.

It's becoming repetitive. As mentioned earlier, events are no longer as fun with them using the same formula over and over again and being ran back to back has many players getting burnout. I've only just started lesson 22 because I feel pressured to play events more than the main storyline so I can't say for sure, but I've heard that the story drastically changes. Characters not getting any more development or previous development being thrown out of the window, not focusing on the lore as much and becoming boring in general. Once again, I cannot say for sure and these are only things I've heard. If this is true, that's incredibly disappointing. We need more lore and darker storylines. This may be an otome, but it's a game about demons. There is so much potential, and I feel like the dev's aren't using it to their advantage as much as they should be. Personally, I think the masked event from 2021 was so close to perfection and really showed what we could have. It's still my favourite event and I think we need more plotlines that follow a similar tone.

This was not made in hopes of cancelling the game, but to bring attention to these issues and hope the devs will listen to fans.

What are your favourite ttrpg mechanics that you’d like to see adopted by more systems?

Sorry for taking so long to answer!

Anyway, my answer is probably gonna be kinda boring because I very rarely play those artsy, high-concept rpgs with really out-there experimental mechanics.

I think some of my favorite mechanics are those that take elements of classic old-school roleplaying games but streamline and abstract them to juuust the right amount of crunch. For example, I've mentioned this before: I ADORE the initiative mechanic from games like Mausritter, Into the Odd, or The Black Hack: At the start of combat, every player makes a Dexterity check. Players that pass get to act before the group of enemies, while players that fail have to act after the group of enemies.

Similarly, I REALLY like the way The Black Hack handes inventory management through its usage dice system (which has inspired similar systems in later games): for stackable, consumable items such a arrows, rations, lantern oil, etc, instead of keeping count of the exact number, your represent the quantity of items with a die. Each time you spend the item, you roll the corresponding die, and if the result is 1-2, you downgrade the size of the die by one step (e.g. a d12 becomes a d10). When the usage die is 1d4 and you roll a 1-2, you run out of whatever item it was.

Both of these mechanics massively streamline initiative and inventory management and vastly reduce the bookkeeping involvd in those systems, but still keep the idea behind them crunchy enough that they still preserve an element of tactics. I tend to hack these mechanics into pretty much any old-school game that features initiative or inventory management, and I've yet to find a case where it wasn't a huge improvement.

Another mechanics that I love that I' think we don't see enough in games is 'd love to see used more often in games is risk-reward choices. One of my favorite examples is a magic weapon which I think appears in the second Mörk Borg Cult zine (Mörk Borg Cult: Heretic). When attacking with it, you can choose any number and apply it as a penalty to your attack roll, in exchange for getting to apply the same number as a bonus to your damage roll if you succeed. So the harder you choose to impair yourself with the attack roll, the bigger the potential damage you'll do if you manage to succeed. I think that's one of the best-designed magic items I've ever seen in a ttrpg and I wish more things in TTRPGs incorporated that kind of decision.

Lastly, another one that I love but I don't think it fulfills the "you’d like to see adopted by more systems" part of your ask: I absolutely ADORE the flashback mechanic from Blades in the Dark. Basically: at any point during a heist, you can spend stress to invoke a flashback to roleplay an action your character did in the past to prepare for the situation they're facing in the present (as long as it doesn't contradict or "undo" any of the things that have been established in the fiction so far). E.g. as you enter a party you get patted down and deprived of your weapons, you might choose to trigger a flashback to roleplay how earlier that afternoon you came by, gave one of your guns to one of the valets and, bribed him to hide it for you in one of the potted plants inside the ballroom. Just like any other action, depending on how hard or risky it is, it might automatically succeed, or it might require one or multiple rolls.

The reason I'm hesitant to say I'd like to see it adopted by more systems is because, as much as I consider it one of the most brilliant ttrpg mechanics of all time, it's also a mechanic firmly rooted in BitD's criminal theme and heist structure, and to me i'd feel pretty out of place incorporated into any system that doesn't mainly revolve around executing heists.

actually I should probably mention over on this side of the internet, as it is an all-consuming machine inside of me now and whatever, that I am writing a book again, after a decade-long break to become a completely different person, which was apparently the secret ingredient??? for some reason the ability to actually work on this thing that's been simmering away pretty quietly for two years was kicked out of me by trigun, even though this story is absolutely nothing like trigun except that there's a bunch of assholes doing permanent roadtrips with each other (a feature of many if not most of my favourite types of stories so that barely counts) and it's got my take* on the sad asshole chainsmoker who shoots stuff archetype in it but this one's a nonbinary butch who is still predictably hurling themself face-first onto the bed of nails of gay yearning.

actually it's about a heist gone horribly wrong and how you survive under conditions of extreme late capitalism and corporatocracy in space (you do crimes about it, mostly) and what happens when you're a mess with a bad personality desperately in love with your dead best friend but also really angry at how you're discovering she lied to you a lot so you hate-fuck her nemesis about it but her nemesis was also in love with her so like, now it's weird. you don't catch feelings about it though. the fuck.

so @tragically-jane-doe made a post the other day that constance drags the choir to watch starkid musicals. as a result, here’s the st cassian’s chamber choir’s favourite starkid musicals!!!

ricky: so first off, they love that the company name is “starkid” like?? yes please?? but anyway, their favourite is pretty obviously starship!! exhibit a, space puppets. exhibit b, it’s basically bee movie and richard potts is always a slut for the bee movie. exhibit c, kick it up a notch and the reprise. granted, they mostly prefer the music of a very potted musical, but story matters most to them, bringing them to favour starship.

ocean: trail to oregon. i know this sounds like bullshit but hear me out!! ocean doesn’t share a lot of the choir’s cultural hive mind. she never read harry potter or watched aladdin (until the choir forced her to, but they watched twisted as a group *then* aladdin bc constance always assumed ocean had seen disney movies). and ocean is Not a horror gal (also black friday is too anti-capitalist for her in pre-canon at the very least). but trail to oregon is somewhat historical, barely but it’s there, and she did play the oregon trail video game on the shitty library computer. this is the first time she understood references to something rooted in nostalgia and it made her feel normal. she’s also jealous of the family dynamic - everything else she’s seen is too perfect for her to even wish for, but the family in trail to oregon is messy but they still care for each other. ocean wants that. she understands a maternal viewpoint for the first time in her life. granted, the poop jokes are a bit much for her, but the most egregious parts are in a separate video so she just finishes it when you choose who has dysentery.

mischa: black friday. anti-capitalist horror. next.

noel: twisted. twisted is literally The Drama. noel doesn't just care about comedy, he loves how deeply tragic it is (like if you've seen twisted, you Know). also noel was totally a disney kid so the references here really hit for him.

penny: the guy who didn't like musicals. it's so quotable and chaotic and it has horror elements. that bit where (spoilers btw) gary and stu pull out hidgens' stomach and he says "no not my tummy" is the biggest penny energy i've ever seen. also, hive mind means lack of identity. you know who else lost her identity? penny lamb aka jane doe. in addition, being controlled via music is literally what karnak does to them and since she's the one who canonically returns, and in a way it'd be her first memories, she'd connect to it most perhaps. (in all fairness, she also likes me and my dick).

constance: the very potter trilogy, with her favourite being a very potter sequel. i think that it was the first one she discovered and she has a nostalgic connection to it, and she really loves the music. it's the only harry potter media she continues to consume and it really becomes canon in her mind. but honestly, it's very hard for her to choose because she does love all of them!!!

oh god. tbh none of my ao3 ones are particularly angsty. Best Served Cold is probably the closest because of ✨vengeance✨, but I've got a fair few angsty fics unpublished.

deffo I Think We've Got Chemis-tree. It's just silly feel-good fluff and very 'fanfictiony' if you get what I mean. Not my fave, but people seem to love it for some reason :')

HA. Luckily, I've managed to steer clear from any hate with my Sam stuff, which is probably down to the niche-ness of the fandom, but I used to get a LOOOT when i wrote TWD stuff back in the day. And it was pretty much always due to me using British english spelling & lingo rather than US. Yawn.

Abso-fucking-lutely. I think the stuff I've published is pretty tame tbh... compared to what I'm too frightened to post because I'm sick in the head <3. I love giggly, fluffy smut, but hey. I also love stuff that verges on dead dove. Come at me with asks on the matter. I'm game.

Nope. Tbh I don't like anything enough to do crossovers, but ig it's not out of the question.

Again, this fandom is so small, I feel like it'd be blatantly obvious if it had been. I think I saw something a while back that made me raise my brow at the similarity, but to say it was stolen may be a bit far-fetched.

I had a friend once who asked me to beta her fic, and it ended up becoming a total 50/50 collaboration, so yeah! Again, it was TWD.

ARGH I really want to continue with The Sadir Inheritance, but it's so time consuming, and it takes me about a month to write a very basic request, let alone take care of my fic-baby. I really really like it and have SOO many ideas, so maybe it's overly pessimistic to say I won't ever finish it. But the fandom may be extinct by the time I do :')

Apparently I'm good at dialogue and characterisation? That's unhealthy obsession, bay-bee!

Anything emotional, I think. I enjoy writing the conversational side of things, and am a very humour-centric person, so find it hard to make things perfectly angsty/sad when they need to be. Though I still write it! I'm just not all that confident.

Hell yeah. Just make sure it's accurate to avoid offence/severe cringe. I wouldn't personally do it unless I was completely certain it fit.

Hello everyone!

In case you are interested what has happened to old Zieksy...

As some of you may have already noticed, I am not really active here anymore. Pray forgive the discourtesy. My love for the franchise and Barok in particular is still the same lol, but I've decided to focus on other aspects of my life, not to mention that something has changed recently and I now have to (and of course want to) use more of my time dedicated to a loved one in need. Life is just too busy. :)

Plus, sadly, being part of any fandom also means being exposed to some of the negative sides of it, which I just don't want and need in my life. I don't desire for my positivity to become jaded. I want to enjoy the games for what they are without some of the unnecessary toxicity that unfortunately can't be evaded when spending time online. To me games are entertainment and a form of joy/relaxation, just like books, nothing more.

Sure, while every now and then there are some issues with companies that should be addressed, that's not even what I am referring to. There's just no need to drag real-life problems or issues into the games themselves, misinterpret things, and create something that it was never meant to be by the creators. For example: "You can't like Godot because he's [fill in the blanks]!"...No, that's not necessarily what that means; let's be more open and not view it through a lens with a limited range + he's fictional, just like the rest of the game/setting. It's okay to like fictional stories. It's okay to analyse them, but in the end it's not real and can—but doesn't have to—affect our perception of the character/story/etc.

Games can be silly, over-the-top, unrealistic, just like AA. It doesn't have to make sense in a real-life situation but can make sense and be believable in the setting of the game. I enjoy creativity that can manifest itself in many ways. While it has never happened to me personally, and I certainly would have just ignored it, I feel with all the people who are bullied or who are subjected to prejudice over fictional things. Let's all be respectful to our fellow human beings, who are actual, real people.

I desire to be more carefree in that regard while also making educated consumer decisions. It's the real issues in this world that concern me and that I try to have a positive impact on as much as humanly possible. Being a conscious and good person is of the utmost importance to me. We all deserve respect and happiness regardless of who we are and where we are on this planet. We are all humans who are in this crazy thing called life together.

Either way...long story short: I am still going to enjoy the games (and my favourite wine-guzzling vampire prosecutie!), but in private, because my positivity is important to me, and I will use my time to focus on loved ones and other aspects in this world. I've really enjoyed my time here on Tumblr. It's been a pleasure to get to know you all. Thank you so much for engaging with me. And I may eventually be back, who knows. 1 . what are 3 things you’d say shaped you into who you are?

Oh you had to pick the hard one huh. | I really have no idea about what shaped me... I suppose that dinosaurs did? Classic kid thing to start fixations with, those things consumed my childhood and I still love them. It's thanks to them that I branched into drawing dragons, then got to where I am. Casual eldritch/biology enjoyer. Games for sure, 100%. Honestly I think my neighbour falls into this place too. He was the younger brother but I got on way better with him. I'd say we were almost best friends, we'd spend majority of our afternoons throughout all his primary school years (+2 of my high school years) playing Skylanders together and talking about Pokemon. We saw each other almost daily!! I don't know where he is now or how he's doing, but I hope he's doing great out there. He was a good kid, I wouldn't want anything else for him and for how much he helped me become who I am today. I hope he knows how much he still means to me after all this time.

Music. I think would have to be the last thing I can think of. My music taste has changed so much since the start of high school but regardless it was my crutch. My silence was always filled with music if I could help it. On the bus, in the car, at home. It's still the same now too. Music stops me from overthinking and fearing and I always tend to tear up at random moments listening to random songs. I would and do always daydream to it and it powered/powers my thoughts like nothing else. Music kept my creativity alive, especially when I developed some intense anxiety/depression during early years of high school. For that I owe it everything.

20. favourite things about the night?

Oh yes an easy question, PHEW. It's dark, quiet, peaceful, nice on the eyes and generally peak hours 'cause everyone's asleep. Nothing is nicer than having a window open to the darkness outside, hearing the wind blow a cool breeze by. Orange streetlights over the road or Christmas decorations in the dark. Nothing quite as hypnotizing as driving at night and seeing the lights go by in spotty patterns. During the day people are active and about, supposed to be awake and full of energy. I'm a very chill, tired person most of the time and the night is so much less stressful to me. It's down time for everyone and that means I can vibe at my most comfortable. Did I mention it's dark? Light hurts my eyes </3 That's also why I love cloudy af days.

30. what’s one thing that never fails to make you happy/happier?

Cat. My cat. Idk how you're supposed to not feel happy when you're near a little, fluffy creature that loves you. Easy mood booster.

sell me on one of your favourite ships. your choice

First of all curse my brain for being so dumb, I received this ask and immediately thought. i don't know what ships I like. Brain empty. I have never consumed any media ever. I literally had to go through my pic folders to check what media I love and what ships exist.

ANYWAYS.

I do have. This one ship I'm really really into. But it's also BIG SPOILERS for The Great Ace Attorney (both games) so. Spoilers under the cut.

Alright so. In the Great Ace Attorney, you play as Ryuunosuke Naruhoudo, a young japanese student who ends up becoming a lawyer by some twist of fate.

At the start of the game, you are very quickly introduced to Ryuunosuke's best friend, Kazuma Asougi.

Kazuma is... kind of perfect. He's handsome, nice, level-headed, clever, very good in the courtroom despite still only being a student himself, and overall kind of badass. He's also very ambitious and has a strong sense of justice, and he claims that he wishes to change the justice system. Him and Ryuunosuke seem very close, and you can tell Ryuunosuke really looks up to him.

So, when Kazuma is chosen to go to London to participate in a student exchange between Japan and Great Britain, he immediately asks Ryuunosuke to accompany him and help him with something there, and Ryuunosuke barerly even hesitates before accepting. He promises he will help Kazuma with whatever this "mission" is.

Except Kazuma never makes it to London. He dies in a tragic accident during the steamship travel. Ryuunosuke takes up his sword (Karuma, a sword that was passed down for generations and a symbol of the Asougi family's pride and honor), his lawyer badge, and his mission, despite not knowing what it even was (indeed, Kazuma never had the time to tell him, in the end, what it was he wished to do in London).

With the help and moral support of Kazuma's former judiciary assistant, Susato, (as well as a number of other characters) Ryuunosuke quickly learns the ways of the courtroom and wins a number of cases in London, slowly uncovering uncomfortable truths about the english judiciary system.

Until, finally, it is revealed that Kazuma never died. But in lieu of a warm reunion, Ryuunosuke and Susato only get more questions about what happened, as Kazuma quickly brushes off their concerns and instead announces that he will be facing Ryuunosuke in court as a prosecutor in the next trial. He's acting kind of aloof and... different.

In court, he is efficient and ruthless. Ryuunosuke manages to stand his ground, but Kazuma seems to have a personal grudge against the defendant and it sounds like he's determined to get a guilty verdict. Through multiple cross-examinations, Ryuuonosuke starts getting a good picture of what's going on. Kazuma is here to avenge the memory of his late father, Genshin Asougi, who was condemned in a dreadful case of serial killing 10 years ago in London, as he was himself participating in a student exchange between the two nations (parallels, parallels). Kazuma is persuaded that the defendant of this case is not only responsible for the one murder they are currently investigating, but is also the actual serial killer of this old case, and used Genshin Asougi as a scapegoat.

And this is when everything starts to unravel before our eyes. As the trial goes on and more things are uncovered, as Kazuma learns how wrong he was and how much more horrible the whole story is, he starts getting angrier and pushing back harder and more carelessly.

The image of the perfect, cool-headed lawyer shatters as we learn Kazuma not only lied to the court (and to his closest friends, Ryuunosuke and Susato), but was even implicated in an assassination attempt, in which he broke off the tip of Karuma, his family's sword.

That's a strong symbol. He was so ruthless in his pursuit of revenge that he has betrayed his family's and his own ideals of justice and honor.

He never was the man Ryuunosuke idolized. Behind the mask, he's always been just a heartbroken boy, mourning his father, angry at the english judiciary system for condemning his innocent father to death and tarnishing his memory thus. His noble claims of wanting to change the judiciary system stained by his vengeful anger.

In the end, despite all his skill as a lawyer, Kazuma is too blinded by his own rage, and when he finally breaks down in the middle of the courtroom, it is Ryuunosuke who pushes through and manages to bring light to the entire case, and clear the name of Genshin Asougi.

Ryuunosuke, who came to London to honour Kazuma's memory and will, who bore his sword and his badge, who became a lawyer only because he wanted to do right by his dead friend. At each step of his journey, he was thinking of Kazuma. And in the end, he accomplished Kazuma's mission, as he promised he would, without even knowing what it was until the very end. Not only that but he bested Kazuma, by beating him fair and square in the courtroom and by demonstrating his true ideal of justice, the research of absolute truth, untainted by anger or feelings of revenge.

It was a long exposition but the reason why I love this ship so much (romantically or plaotnically, both are incredibly good) is because of the story and themes surrounding it. They took the trope of the role model that the protagonist tries to emulate/catch up to and completely turned it on its head. The person Ryuunosuke was chasing after was always just a ghost, and while this is a tragic and hurtful truth, it's nothing in the face of their bond. This trial does not break Ryuunosuke's trust in Kazuma, but it also fully reinstates Kazuma's trust in Ryuunosuke. After having kept so many things hidden from him, he can finally completely open up to him.

After the trial is concluded, Kazuma gives Karuma to Ryuunosuke because he's too ashamed to keep it. He literally entrusts his broken pride to him!! Not only that but the sword is also referred to as Kazuma's soul several times in the games. Imagine giving your soul for your best friend to keep while you go and recontruct your broken self. How fucking romantic is that!!

They cross swords in front of the rising sun before going their separate paths, Ryuunosuke going back to Japan, taking up Kazuma's old dream of changing the japanese judicial system, while Kazuma stays in Britain to right his wrongs and become a better attorney.

They make me so emotional.

Well, there you go. I hope this wasn't too long but most importantly I hope this was convincing as to why this is a good fucking ship.

I know I never make original posts here, but Pokemon Violet has left me in shambles and I feel the need to ramble here about my favourite location in literally any Pokemon game: Area Zero. Naturally this is the last location in the game so there's a spoiler tag here

I CANNOT exaggerate how much I love Area Zero.

From the moment you land from the clouds, you can tell something is not right. The sky is too bright, the world is too bright, everything shimmers like a dream- but it's hard to see what's wrong. Because Pokemon are here, enjoying themselves and living like normal. Nothing's wrong

But you descend deeper and start to see odd geologic structures. Waterfalls disappearing into a void. Trees are being eaten by strange crystals. The zero labs have a history behind them, and you're finding the remains of journals and a story gone awry. Something's wrong.

And you get even deeper. You leave the daylight behind, but it's still just as bright in the cave. Everything becomes slowly more and more swallowed up by these crystals that distort your sight and senses, and it's so beautiful- but it's so creepy. The music is playing as normal, but where it was eerily soothing and ethereal, it's now unnerving. The last lab station is broken and ripped apart and consumed by the crystals, and something went very wrong here. Everything is wrong

And the biggest lab at the very pit of the crater just takes your breath away. This world is more crystal than human innovation now. Creatures from a far distant time have claimed these grounds, and the lab is broken and sad. A professor- and a parent's- shards of a dreams are left here. Their work is in shambles. Their body is dead. The only thing that's left of their humanity is their AI mirror image, and a photo of Arven on their board. There's no going back to this person or this family anymore.

It's such a sad and beautiful place and I love it so much. I lost my father about 1.5 years ago, and I didn't know him very well prior. The only things I was left with was fragments of his work and mistakes, and someone that knew him very well telling me that he still loved me.

One of the last things Arven learns is that his parent still loved him. Despite everything, time still moved on, and the only thing you can do after losing everything is find something new within the people you meet. Crystals were such an amazing plot point here- even in their fragments, there's reflections of who you are/were and there's something beautiful but sad in their ruination.

This was one of the realest Pokemon games I've played for that reason, and this storyline just hits the hardest out of any other Pokemon game I've played. I loved all the characters, all the places, all the Pokemon and how alive the world felt. I love this game so much :"D

The phone screen whirs to life to reveal… quite a peculiar place. Darkness creeps at the corners of your vision, and everything in the room is tinted slightly green with the night vision feature of the camera. One by one, some notable features become clear as the camera slowly adjusts to the dim light.

One- a stack of takeout boxes and bags that teeters ever so slightly to the side, but balanced with enough precision to remain standing for… who knows how long.
