Working with teenagers and young adults is very upsetting because to them your subject is just another one of those tortures they are subjected to and for you it is what you love doing and seeing them neglect all the opportunities you put forward for them is kind of... discouraging

I feel like often times I just see me and the other two eldest siblings just shut down when our parents say wack shit at us, like we’ve all just kinda learned to shut up and not say anything, while the littlest is still trying to like fight and stand up for themself but like.. idk how to explain to her to just… not… cause how sad is that to tell that to someone, don’t fight, don’t stand up for yourself, learn how to stay quiet and just shut everything off, keep your head down until you have enough money saved up to leave, like how miserable is that… how fucking miserable… but what else is there to do?
