Sketch of my spin on Daigo (she/he) ^^ I cant quit thinking of her it's not funny... in my au he's a librarian ... and a good storyteller. All her friends love love love listening to his campfire stories, because she always reads creepy stories and recites urban legends and then improvises a wholesome version of it so no one has nightmares :] I CANT STOP THINKING ABT HIM

This au is called BeyMagic! Because... well, in this universe beyblading is a type of ancient, forbidden magic (that the gang ends up getting their hands on because of course they do).

And it takes place in a "medieval" setting you could say, in a kingdom.

A complete cast of characters is still tbd, it's in the early stages, but its cooking im so excited WAHOO!!! 😸

I will not stop gushing over the Earthmover's design. It's just so iconic, a quick peek at its silhouette and you can tell that's Benjamin, everyone's favourite mass-destruction weapon who runs on blood and sunlight. Props to ULTRAKILL's artist team. I also can't stop imagining them in other media, as they fit too damn well. Rain World, OneShot, Shadow of the Colossus, Wall-E, among others. I fucking love this war llama you guys have no idea. And it begs the question: How the FUCK did the people at the very end of the Final War manage to clamber onto those things, let alone BUILD TOWNS on them? Like I know people always find a way, but DAMN. Either that or some of the machines became self-aware and offered their backs as refuge. I have no idea. Thank you ULTRAKILL for existing.

Anybody else think that the "superhero fatigue" people keep talking about has less to do with people not liking superheroes as a genre, and more to do with many superhero movies made in the past few years being bad faith adaptations?

I'm not tired of comic books or action movies, or the inherent optimism of a world that, despite its many flaws, deserves saving

I'm tired of movies that are mass produced with no respect to the source material, audience, or the people making it!

i desperately wish gw2 had more food-centric lore. i think about asura food more than is probably particularly reasonable. they're sort of implied to like molecular gastronomy in the lvl500 chef quests which is fitting and makes sense, but surely not every asura is eating bespoke Pea Spheres day in and day out right? i think my favorite angle on them is a sort of 50s-80s american-esque food style where there's a huge emphasis on things being Convenient and Scientific, so you'd get a lot of absolute slop tv dinners and canned items that have labels boasting how they were nutritionally fortified and contained your day's complete vitamin intakes and so on. a lot of jellied things. i do also fully believe they would have + eat soylent.

@onenicebugperday Bit of an unfortunate update, but not without hope.

A week ago as of posting this, Green Bean Casserole had a pretty severe mismolt. I think they fell and got stuck behind their favorite stick in an awkward position after leaving the exuviae. I only found and assisted them the next morning, but by then their exoskeleton had already hardened up. Thankfully all of their limbs are intact and functional, but, well... The situation is far from ideal, as you’ll see.

At first I was pretty worried they wouldn’t make it; they seemed to be struggling to move around due to the deformity, falling when climbing and generally looking wobbly. I moved them to a different terrarium set up for my flat headed snake Absinthe, both because of the softer substrate and the lack of skinks that might be bold and attempt to take advantage of a weakened mantis. I wasn’t even sure if food would be able to pass through their system, and they had no interest in prey at all, which wasn’t a good sign. However, with some adjustments to the layout of the temporary terrarium I moved them to, they did climb and manage to hang from the lid with some effort. GBC seemed like they were a fighter, and the day after the bad molt they accepted and ate a grasshopper, so I decided to see if I could get them to their next molt and hopefully allow them to recover.

They’ve since adapted to their new shape, and I’ve moved them back to their usual terrarium for easier monitoring and better sun access. They’re climbing and hanging without falling, eating well, and drinking water droplets from the screen lid when I water the terrarium. I’d say they’re about as close to thriving as they could be in this situation! Here’s how they’re looking today. Ignore the escapee grasshopper in the background, its jailbreak was short lived…

I do feel a bit mean for making this comparison, but…

There’s a bit of a resemblance, isn’t there?

I love that **THAT** part of the superhero fandom (You know the ones, they ONLY watch the movies and don’t know shit about comics) just- automatically assume that “Nobody cares” about Blue Beetle or that the movie is just “Antman and Ironman combined”

Like my guy. My dude. You don’t read comics do you. Do you know how popular Jaime is in DC. His look is so iconic even I’ve heard of the character before I even knew what a DC comics was. Sure I didn’t like- know the lore or anything like that but he still has a iconic look to him y’know? Also people DO care for Jaime. He has a solid fanbase. (Also fun fact half the heroes in movies now were heroes nobody gave a shit about if they didn’t read the comics. Wow. Shocking I know)

Also the whole hes just antman and Ironman combined is so funny to me because the line ends at “Oh he’s bug themed and has armor suit” like the comparisons end there. He’s nothing like Antman or Ironman in personality and powers. And y’all would know this if you got your head out of your ass and just READ THE GODDAMN COMICS OR DO FUCKING RESEARCH. Like?????

I don’t understand how some “superhero” fans are just so stupid and don’t know how to use Google.
