In the silence of the spacious apartment, the front door slammed. Something seemed to fall on the floor, then there was the sound of running water in the bathroom. You became wary and got out of bed, putting the book on the nightstand. The door was only closed and you quietly looked through the crack where the light was coming from to understand who had just climbed into your and Natasha’s apartment.
A shock of red hair flashed and you relaxed. Natasha got back, but... something was wrong. You knocked and quietly entered; the woman was sitting with her back to you in the bath, her arms wrapped around her knees. "Babe? Hi, I missed you so much, did something happen?...” You fell silent when you got a better look at her back. All covered in bruises and scratches. Natasha turned her head and smiled at you over her shoulder, it seems her face suffered no less. "Hi дорогая (sweetheart)" She said quietly, “I brought you a small gift, it’s in a bag in the hallway..”
You cut her off and walked over to take her face in your hands. She was covered in dirt, her lip was clearly broken. Natasha looked like a beaten kitten. “Oh my god baby what happened to you?” Fear settled in your eyes and she turned her head to rub her cheek against your palm and then kiss it. "It's been a terrible week." She wheezed. “I just want to take a bath and go to bed please.”
You nodded and rubbed the pad of your thumb over her slightly sore cheekbone. “Should I help you?” She shook her head in protest and directed the shower stream onto her sore back. "Okay, then I'll wait for you in the room." You walked out and closed the door behind you.
After 20 minutes, the sound of the water stopped and Natasha came out with only a towel on her hips. Her chest didn't look as bruised as her back, but there were still yellow bruises on her abs. She sighed and found clean house clothes in the closet. “Wait, I’ll treat your back, don’t get fully dressed.” The woman pulled on loose sweatpants and sat on the edge of the bed. You took out the first aid kit and moistened a piece of cotton wool with an antibacterial agent, barely touching it, wiping her wounds.
“Everything didn’t go according to plan. I should have already left there, but I was delayed and I got the worst of it because I was protecting the weight.” You listened to her without stopping your work. “Damn, it hurts.” “Shhhh I know my love, I know.” You applied healing ointment. When you finished, your hands rested on her shoulders, gently kneading her tired muscles. "I'm so happy you're with me again." A small moan escaped Natasha’s lips in response to your actions. The hands moved to her neck and then dropped back down. “You did great, let me take care of you.” You bit your earlobe and your hands slid to the redhead's breasts. Natasha’s breathing quickened as you played with her nipples and squeezed her soft breasts.
“Oh damn Y/N.” The woman's hips jumped up and you noticed the bulge forming in her pants. You grinned and turned her head towards you for a soft kiss, but almost immediately Natasha's tongue begged for permission to enter your mouth. "No no, I'm in charge here today." You said as you pulled away and grabbed her rock hard cock with your hand through the fabric her house pants. She sighed noisily, the woman's head leaned back on your shoulder while you stroked her length, watching as a small wet spot appeared on her pants. Your lips touched her neck, your teeth biting the sensitive skin. Whining began to come from Natasha. "What do you want baby?" Your hands were stroked wherever they could reach. “You..” The redhead’s thoughts were confused. "More concrete." You said sternly and squeezed her balls. It was so good, so good the redhead thought that she would cum just from this. "Fuck...Y/N please. I need your mouth, your hands, your pussy on my cock."
You moved to the floor between her legs and slowly pulled the gray sweatpants down her legs. Her throbbing cock jumped out and hit Natasha's stomach. The tip was leaking pre-cum and looked red and sensitive. She could hide it, but when you took the initiative into your own hands, it turned her on more than being on top, she went crazy when such a cute little thing like you did whatever you wanted with her.
You collected her pre-cum starting to stroke Natasha's length, obscene squelching sounds filling the room. She began to push into your hand, but you held her back, prohibiting any action on her part. "I told you. I'm in charge." With that, you wrapped your lips around her tip and took every inch of her cock into your mouth until your nose touched the woman's stomach. The redhead's head fell back from this sight, her hands clutching the sheets so as not to start fucking your mouth. "Fuck oh god baby." You continued to suck, looking into the green eyes from above, one of your hands fell between your legs, starting to rub your swollen clit through the fabric of underwear. Not only Natasha enjoyed this, you liked sucking her dick even more than fucking her. You realized how sensitive you both were now and before at least one of you came, you stopped and stood up.
"Lie on your back." You commanded and the redhead climbed to the head of your shared plush bed, taking the desired position. The woman watched as you took off your panties, but left your light housedress on and took out the lube from the cabinet nearby bed. Cold thick liquid dripped onto her length and she twitched, you quickly warmed and rubbed it, and then pressed your soaked folds against her length to slide and rub. "Please baby. I can't take it anymore." She felt that she would cum at any moment. With every movement, your clit hit her red tip, making you even wetter. Your nails dripped into her shoulders as you processed what she said. Your hips began to move faster. “That’s it Natty don’t hold back, cum for me.” Her hands flew up to your hips, helping you move against her. Her hips still began to jerk involuntarily and within seconds ropes of her cum fell onto her flat stomach. "Fuck Y/N oh god." You were still grinding her cock prolonging her orgasm, your hand reached out and the tip of your finger gathered her release. You put it in your mouth, tasting it as if Natasha was the most expensive dish in the world. The redhead's eyes darkened at this sight and her dick twitched, she so needed to be inside you.
"Mmmm I didn't even have to try to make you cum. And you're still so hard." You leaned down and press your lips onto her, licking the stinging wound. “Do you want another round Natty? Although your dick speaks for you..” You stood up to finally line up the tip with swollen folds, rubbing your clit with it a little.
In one motion, you sank down Natasha’s cock, taking the entire length at once. The feeling of your warm wet walls around her made her ready to explode instantly, she was still so sensitive. Your hands grabbed hers and pinned they to the bed as you began to ride her quickly. "Oh yeah Fuck baby I love your big fat cock so much." Your thighs slapped against her, wetness flowing between your bodies. Her tip hit the sensitive spot inside you every time. "Do you want to cum in me Natty? Fill me up to the brim. I'm going to love it so much." The redhead nodded quickly and buried her face in the pillows, you grabbed her and turned her back. "Look at me when I fuck you." From the fast pace and your rude words, Natasha’s orgasm was approaching at breakneck speed. One of her hands moved away from your grip and her thumb rested on your swollen clit. "Oh fuck fuck cum with me baby. Come on, can you do it for me Natty?"
She did it, how could Natasha upset you? The feeling of her cum inside you made you see stars and your pussy milked her cock dry. Your legs shook and you fell into Natasha's arms, her hands rubbing circles on your back as she fucked you through your orgasm.
You lay together in this position for a few more minutes, after which you slowly got off Natasha and her cum immediately flowed out of you, dripping onto her stomach. The redhead reached over to the bedside table and grabbed wet wipes to clean herself and you. "Thanks babe." You kissed her gratefully and lay down next to her, resting your head on her shoulder.
You both closed your eyes and began to fall asleep when Natasha suddenly jumped up and walked towards the corridor. "I forgot about my gift." Her voice came muffled. She walked back into room holding something behind her back. You sat up, taking an upright position. "What do you have there?" Natasha pulled out her gift from behind her back and you laughed. "Plush seal? Oh my God, he has such a funny face." The redhead frowned. "What don't you like?" "Oh I really like it, give it here." You lay down again hugging a new toy. “Are you going to sleep with it now and not with me?” The woman feigned offense and lay down with her back to you.

DOM! SCARAMOUCHE X M!+F! READER SMUT
WORDS: 1.3K Scara fic list
MINORS DO. NOT. INTERACT.❌❌❌
Omg your scara would have me ACTING UP. THE FIRST THING I THOUGHT OF WAS STEALING HIS HAT AS REVENGE FOR YOUR ARGUMENT. scara walking around the zapolyarny palace without his ICONIC HAT. Tartaglia calling him girly 24/7 because scara looks so pretty.
Tumblr media
Scaramouche coming home to you pissed af realizing he's going to have to stay in his LEAST favorite nation, Inazuma because La signora went on some stupid revenge plan and its his job to do the clean up.
Scaramouche placing his hat on a hanger near his closet then laying besides you in bed, placing kissing on your cheek as he rants away..
"And then theirs more praise to the 'ever so righteous captain' even my mechanical ears need maintenance after hearing those bullshit compliments." he sighed, "I have more important things to do Y/n then the harbinger's petty acts. Human emotions truly are irritating." He layed on his back and placed his hand on his forehead, dragging his fingers through his hair. You visibly stared at him. "Hm? what? ya' cant fall asleep with me around baby?" he smirked. "No~ you just look so pretty with your hat off scara. You should take it off more. F' me" You got up and trailed ontop of him. observing his beautiful hair and face.
Scaramouche who wants to fuck you right then and their but cant because he 'needs his rest' for his long journey in inazuma which annoys him even more he'll be spending his time not around you.
"Hey.. scara.. maybe I can come with you to inazuma~ It'll be fun to help you! and i can watch you-" he cut you off. "No. Your not coming with me to inazuma Y/n. I dont need you getting in my way and getting yourself hurt." "H-Hurt..scara I can protect myself just fine when your not around. And besides! we'll be together more often."
Scaramouche who begins to get aggravated at your persistence. "Are you deaf? Y/N I said no. Im not having this petty conversation with you again. I already have to deal with these pathetic humans. I dont need you to be on my shoulder the same way." He sighed. "W-what.. what do you mean you dont need me scara?" you said as you got up off of him and laid back on your side of the bed. "Y/n.. I didnt mean it like that. Why do you have to- ugh...Im just pissed off right now okay. Go to sleep baby, Goodnight."
Scaramouche who wakes up early with a heavy sigh when realizing your not on your side of the bed. Along with his... hat missing..
scaramouche who walks into the kitchen to see you making him a snack for his trip to inazuma. "Y/n.. have you seen my hat anywhere?" he said while opening the snack bag "No baby, haven't seen it." you say while eating dango. dango. "Y/n. You know i dont like dango. Why would you-" he looks up to see his hat taped up ontop of your very high bookshelf. (He cant reach because he's short as fuck)
Scaramouche who gets pissed off with your games. "So you did know where my hat was." He sighs. Y/n now isnt the time for you to be childish. Im supposed to be at that fucking boat in 20 minutes." He puts the bag of dango down and reaches for his hat on his tippy toes- You laugh and giggle at him while he retrieves it and stumbles back.
Scaramouche who watches you walk past him along the hallway wall with a smirk on your face.
SMUTTT
Scaramouche who pins you against the wall, dropping his hat on the floor "You think this shit your doing is really funny dont you y/n? was this over last night? what. To see my hair or some shit? You act like a brat?" He was visibly pissed off. "S-scara baby i-im sorry-" "Brats dont get to be sorry. Fucking brats like you get punished."
Scaramouche who commands you to get on your knees, pissed off he pulls his pants down and tells you to open your mouth for him. "Dont be fucking sorry now, open your slut mouth. Last night You wanted to help me right? Suck my cock." "B-but your gonna be late scara-" he laughed at your remark. "too late for that now. Your gonna make me feel good."
Scaramouche who balls deep shoves his cock down your throat. automatically making your eyes roll back. "F-fuck.. Look at how you look right now for me brat. You wanted this didnt you?" He grunts while grabbing your head roughly, making you bob back and forth on his cock.
Scaramouche who sees you touching yourself, Then jerks your head off of his cock "I never said you could fucking touch yourself brat? Get the fuck up right now."
M!: Scaramouche who pushes you against the wall again, Your hands wobbly holding on for support. He shoves his cock quickly inside of you and you yell out a loud moan. "Does my little brat want to cum?" He says while pumping your cock with one hand and smacking your hips together. "Y-YES SCARA~ WANNA' CUM F' YOU. IM SORRY~ AH~" "Then cum all over daddy's hand"
F!: Scaramouche who brings you to the couch, wrapping your legs around him "Only i tell you when you can fucking touch yourself and cum for me. Do you f-fucking understand that? shit~" he pulls you into a sloppy kiss. "mMm YES MASTER~ GONNA' CUM~" "Cum for me Baby. Cum for me like the good little slut you are. Want' this wet pussy dripping all over my cock."

pt1. pt3 warnings: making out, suggestive stuff, arguing, blood. word count: 7k
A/N: the writers block i got while writing this was almost the end of me... came up with a lot of one shot ideas though so I'll be posting those really soon.
Tumblr media
“You left him… there.” Quinn repeated after you, looking bored out of her mind like this happened everyday.
“He was being an asshole, Q.”
“You always think he's being an asshole.“ She shook her head with distaste.
You weren't exactly known for being uncomfortable around people. Actually, it was the other way around. But you couldn't look at her as she ambled towards her closet. You felt embarrassed, tracing the rim of your coffee mug with your finger. “That's just how he acts, Y/N. You out of all people should know this.”
“He used to be different.”
This seemed to pique her interest. “In general or towards you?”
You rolled your eyes. “Both.”
“A lot of stuff has changed since we were kids.” She told you, leaving a bag with vials filled with fake blood next to you on the bed. You understood there was privacy in this apartment, but it was risky to leave this kind of stuff just laying there in her closet. How did she do it? “Richie's gone, dad's more distant than usual…”
Quinn bit her lower lip. You hated drawing all the attention to you when she was going through stuff, too.
“You don't need to—”
“It's fine.” She cut you off, her tone slightly aggressive. She cupped your face in her hands and leaned over you before you could stop her. You weren't self-conscious while being this close to her, Quinn was definitely the person you trusted the most. That's exactly why she noticed your lack of eye contact and was now forcing you to look at her. You didn't want to. You had so much shit bottled up you were scared you would start crying. You winced at the idea, stretching your arm to leave your mug on her night table.
“You're amazing, Y/N. I'm not just saying this because I'm your best friend. You really deserve the best out there, and If my asshole brother can't give you that, then move on.” You tried to retort, but her hand quickly slapped over your mouth. Jesus. “If you say you're not into him one more time, I'll jump out that damn window right now.” Her head nodded towards her bedroom's single window. You lured at her, but you could feel your heart hammering inside your ribcage. “You want him, and he wants you back. I'm not stupid and I know my brother— But if he keeps up with all the bullshit, then stop. I love him, but that doesn't make him a better person.”
Your eyes were starting to water, and hers were still fixated on yours. You licked her palm for the fuck of it. Quinn winced, retracting her hand from your face. “Did you have to do that?”
You wiped your damp eyelashes with the side of your wrist, a knot in your throat. “You weren't letting me go.” She snorted, your body barely swaying from her cleaning her palm on your shirt sleeve.
“Still. That ruined my entire speech.” Quinn had to press her lips together to not laugh. You were aware the situation was probably funny, but you couldn't muster a smile.
Her hand covered your mouth again, expression serious. “Understood?” She waited for you to say the words. You surrendered. The fuck else could you do? “Good.”
“I don't want him.” It's the first thing you said when you were able to speak again.
“Are you trying to convince me or yourself? I'll jump out the window, Y/N.”
You sighed, lifting your gaze from the floor to meet her eyes. “Thanks for telling me all that. I'm not sure it helped, but— I appreciate you caring about me and my… complicated relationships with individuals who do not own a uterus. You're a good friend.”
“Best friend.” She ruffled your hair before reclining on the bed, propping herself on her elbows. “Well, are you gonna tell me what happened between the two of you?”
She'd hate you. She'd beat the absolute shit out of you. Your eyes almost widened at the mere thought of telling her— Yeah, you weren't going through that. “Nice try. No.”
“Did you…” Her eyes narrowed, thoughtful. “Get drunk and kiss him?”
“No.”
She elevated her eyebrows. “Did you fuck him?”
“Fuck, Quinn!” Your face scrunched up, she laughed when you threw a pillow straight to her face. “No!”
“Okay, okay!” She glanced away before looking back at you. “Did you maintain sexual intercourse with my brother?”
You had to rub your temples to alleviate your embarrassment. “That made me want to kill myself.”
“So it's a yes.”
“It's a ‘I'm not talking to you for the rest of the night’.”
“You can't talk to the dead.” She reminded you, sighing as she sprawled out on the bed. You mirrored her, lying on your back and staring at the ceiling, fidgeting with the ring around your finger. You missed wearing some of your favorite jewelry, but times were different, and now you had to keep them hidden in your closet. They were gifts from a certain person…
“Go fuck yourself, respectfully.” You shut your eyes closed, a small smile playing on your lips as Quinn's hand slapped over your forehead. She felt up your face until reaching your cheek, your head tilting after she gave it a fake bitch slap.
“I did not take any offense in that.” You couldn't see her face, but the laziness in her voice was obvious.
Tumblr media
You stared at the filled bathtub, feeling the weight of your eyelids. Time flew by while you and Quinn were asleep. You usually avoided naps, afraid you'd have that dream again. But this time you were so tired you didn't even think of him. Ethan's presence brought you back to the present. He sprayed fake blood into the water, then turned to you. "You ready?” You hated being this close to him.
“I guess.” You motioned for him to turn around while you took your clothes off and got in the bathtub. You kept your shirt in hand, using it to cover yourself. If you fucking catched him looking at you… “Ready.”
Ethan faced you, eyes briefly lingering downwards before he sighed. “Okay.” He hummed, a small wrinkle forming between his eyebrows as he knelt in front of you, focused on inspecting your torso. “This is gonna hurt.”
“We practiced this.” He nodded, still not looking into your eyes. You had to die. Well, not exactly. The plan was to get injured and just make it look like you almost died.
It would be too convenient if you escaped the apartment clean, and too hard to fake your death like Quinn was. So, since you were such a fucking masochist, you agreed to do this.
Your best friend wasn't as good with a knife like her brother was. He knew what he was doing well enough to not damage anything vital, and you were sure he wasn't evil enough to actually hurt you. "Bring it.”
Was he?
You squeezed his shoulder with all your strength as the blade of his knife found its place beneath your ribs. He pulled you closer, letting you bury your face in his neck. You weren't supposed to scream.
“I know. I know it hurts.” He whispered, fingers sliding through locks of your hair. He was trying to comfort you, anyone would in this situation, but the glare you showed him made the look on his face change. He let go of you. “Have it your way, sweetheart.”
You frowned at the pet name. “I'm bleeding. Do you mind?”
“I stayed on the side and didn't go too deep, Y/N. You're not gonna bleed out.” He spat, applying fake blood to your leg. His hand ran over your skin to disperse it over your shin. He had an attitude, you could see it on his face, but he was still being careful.
“And? It still hurts.” You said, trying to hide how damn flustered you were actually getting.
Your hand remained hardly grasping your shirt, trying to keep it in place. Ethan's eyes met yours after you flinched at the cold blood. He looked away, but his gaze returned to your hands after a while. You didn't like it. “What?”
“You’re shaking.” He mentioned. Discreetly, you checked. Your fingers trembled around your shirt, but he shook his head before you could retaliate. “I'm not looking.” His voice was soft, but your personality wasn't.
“You are, though.” And he probably was. Why the hell would he mention it, then?
He gave you a look, but continued with his work. You were trying to relax, you really were, but his touch was making you feel things. The fabric of his gloves touching you with so much gentleness like you were made of porcelain. It was actions that mattered, not words. His thumb traced up your arm, softly pressing on your shoulder. His eyebrows furrowed. “Did you get that mole removed?”
“Ethan.” You grumbled.
He sat back, looking distraught for a second before he made up his mind and met your gaze. “Was it for that guy?” He asked. You could only close your eyes, trying not to snap. “I'm dead serious, Y/N. I want to know.”
You weren't supposed to talk about anything that could or couldn't have happened in the past. And specifically, of how he could know about that mole. “What guy?”
“Johnny.” He choked out. “Your asshole ex.”
You opened your eyes and realized he was, in fact, being serious. His demeanor solemn as he stared, waiting for you to answer him like you didn't have a fucking agreement. “Surprised you remember him.”
“I remember when it comes to you.” His words made your cheeks heat up, though you weren't sure if it was out of surprise or embarrassment.
“What does he have to do with any of this?”
“Did you get it removed for him?” He looked at your shoulder, a vein throbbing on his jaw. “I liked that mole.”
“I don't know, was Tate dressing up for you at the Halloween party?”
He almost looked like he wanted to deny it, but couldn't bring himself up to the task. “Do you care?”
“It's the second time you ask me that.” You paused, and decided to shoot him back. “When it comes to you, I care.”
“Is it bad that I like the sound of that?” He asked, his voice husky. It made your breath hitch.
“Just answer the question.”
“I don't know— Maybe? I didn't ask her to.”
“That's kinda obvious.” It was. But you still wanted to know if it was fucking intentional. “It would be weird.”
“What? Ask my girlfriend to dress up for me?” He chuckled, his amusement tinged with sarcasm. “It would be plain abusive.”
Girlfriend. Your jaw clenched, you couldn't keep living like this. Why did it hurt so much? Why did it hurt so much to know he did exactly what you asked him to? He got over you, and you were still the same idiot that drooled over him every time he was nice to you. You hated him.
“You know who'd do that?”
Ethan noticed the change of tone in your voice, so he just hummed in response, wanting to avoid an argument. But by that moment, it was your only way of protecting yourself. Of trying to take your heart away from his reach. “Your dad.”
“You always say that.” You noticed how much you got to him by how forcefully he put the vial down. He leaned in, fingers threading through your hair to make it look like you fought back.
“Am I wrong?”
“No.” He paused, his voice wavering. He was struggling to maintain his composure, and you were enjoying it. “But he's my father, and I'm nothing like that man. It's offensive.”
“Nothing like him?” You raised an eyebrow, challenging him. He met your gaze with conviction, looking like he was about to snap at you.
“Nothing like him.”
“I thought you helped him kill your mom.”
“It's different.” He assured you, a flicker of pain crossing his features. You weren't falling for that shit.
“But you have a relationship with him.”
“Not the relationship I'd like.”
Your teeth caught your lower lip as he got busy again. He applied blood on his gloves for realism, rubbing his palms together to spread it over the black fabric. It wasn't hard for you to notice the missing item, since you were pretty much devouring him with your eyes.
You were unaware that you voiced your thoughts out loud until his eyes focused on you. You felt your heart drop to your stomach.
“What?” He inquired, confused.
“Tate's hair tie.”
He just stared at you for a while, lowering his head ever so slightly. “Right.” You frowned.
“Did you guys get into an argument or something?” You were sure the answer was no, but him exhaling took you by surprise.
“It's stupid.”
“What did you do?”
“We were kissing and… I don't know, I was drunk. Mixed things up and called her by your name.”
His confession made your face fall. “Is that supposed to be romantic? Because it doesn't fucking feel like it.”
“She said no strings attached.” He glowered at you.
“Then why did you take it off?”
“Because she was mad.” He bit his lower lip, playing with the lace of his left boot to avoid looking at you. “I never— I never felt something for her, Y/N. But I think she started falling in love with me.”
No, no, no, no— You weren't sitting through that shit. Your best friend was one wall away, if you could just… “Quinn!” You shouted, but his bloody glove clamped over your mouth. When the fuck did he get that close to you?
“No, listen.” He groaned. ”You can't just always push me away.”
You moved your head to the side to push his hand away. His nose only inches away from touching yours. He was breathing heavily, and you were ashamed to admit it was making you nervous, he was making you nervous. “I don't wanna hear it, Ethan.”
“Can you give me one chance?” He begged, his hands moved to the wall, pinning you against it. “Just one fucking chance to talk?”
You started feeling dizzy while his eyes were on yours, and you realized you forgot to breathe. How to breathe. Fuck, you were weak. “Go on.” You wheezed.
“Thank you, I—” He swallowed. “I never felt something for her. I never felt… anything since we broke up. That's why I was using Tate. Because I was trying to feel something, I was trying to feel alive again—”
“So you just used her?” You cut him off, you were gripping your shirt against your bare body for dear life. “Like she was disposable.”
“I never thought you out of all people would care about that.” You rolled your eyes. He grabbed your chin to stop you from looking away from him. “We said no strings attached, Y/N. It couldn't even be called a relationship— It wasn't one. We would just make out and I would go as her date at parties.”
“You still looked pretty damn close.” You huffed, jealousy clouding your senses. “I don't wanna know about how you switched saliva with that bitch—”
“You just asked me to tell you!” He protested, your hand slapping over his mouth. You stayed silent, trying to get a clue on what was going on outside. It was very faint, but you could hear the group still yapping and laughing.
“If they hear you, it's over.” You grimaced.
“I'm sorry.” He coed.
“It's fine…” A low sigh escaped your lips, the soft fabric of his cloak between your fingers as you absentmindedly adjusted the hood.
“Why are you telling me this?”
“Because you asked me.”
“But you never told me anything before.” You paused, locking eyes with him. His big, earnest brown eyes that held rare vulnerability. You wanted to kiss him. “Why is it different this time?”
His fingers traveled up your arms, cradling your wrists tenderly as they were still pressed against his neck. “You know why.” He murmured, a tinge of pain underlying his words, causing your guts to twist and turn inside of you. Then you realized maybe they actually were. You still had a cut on your side.
“We're not good for each other.”
Ethan grimaced, shaking his head. “You keep saying that, but you're the only person I've felt something for—”
“Do you want me or need me, Ethan?” You interrupted him, he looked confused for a second. “Because they're two different things. And if you need me, it's not love.”
“I need you because I want you.” His face held a sense of urgency. What did he want you to say?
“What do you think is going to happen? If the same thing from last time repeats itself—”
“We'll get through it.” He nodded his head, his features shifting to show a crazed, desperate glimmer in his eyes that made him look out of his mind. “I want a future with you. I want you. Just you. Please, just— just think about it, alright? Please, let me… just let me…”
His plea hung in the air when you pressed your mouth on his. He groaned, his soft lips easily returning the kiss. The two of you grinned when he lost balance and you had to hold his shoulders, keeping him in place. He was still on his knees, after all.
His tongue slipped into your mouth, gliding and rubbing over yours. Your fingers tangled between his messy curls, fingertips fondling his scalp and making him kiss you even more eagerly. It was slow, but you could tell he had been wanting to do that for a long time. Ethan let out a sound, and you questioned if it was a sob or he was just really enjoying himself. Did he really miss you that much? To cry the second you kissed him? His muscular arms snaked around your body, the softness of his cloak against your bare, cold skin feeling like heaven on earth to you.
He was holding you like you would disappear if he let go, and maybe he was right. Ethan was addictive. He was like a drug you couldn't get enough of, and you were just wondering what would happen when he walked out that door and you found yourself alone, feeling guilty for falling into temptation.
“You're ready.” His lips were wet and he was breathing hard when he pressed his forehead against your own. You gave a small hum to acknowledge his words. “Remember the plan?”
You hummed again. “I need to leave you now.”
“Alright.” You finally opened your eyes, a little too bewitched by the boy in front of you for your brain to have any logical structure. His minty breath hit your lips as he leaned in, pressing a quick kiss to your lips you gladly reciprocated.
He stood up straight and grabbed the empty vials from the floor while you recollected your thoughts, a nauseous sensation sweeping over your stomach at the thoughts your brain was, for some reason, forming.
What if something happened to him? “If they hurt you, I'll slit their fucking throat.”
Ethan bit his lip to hold back a smile, his knee bumping against your calf. “Didn't consider you a romantic.” He stared down at you, his grin was contagious.
“I prefer the term psychotic, but thanks anyway.”
His gloved hand affectionately ruffled your hair, sliding down to your cheek as his lips pressed a kiss on it. “Try not to move too much, alright? I promise I'll make you dinner after this is over.”
You snorted, your hands finding place in his lightly muscular chest as you pulled him down to your height. He finally gave in, revealing a set of white, straight teeth as he smiled. “You're gonna burn the house down.”
You had a lot of memories of sixteen year old Ethan trying to cook, he was a fire hazard near a stove.
“We'll order takeout, then." He said in a low tone, giving your forehead one last kiss. Then your temple, then your lips. “It's a promise.” You watched him rise from the floor and leave, chewing on your lip as you heard the faint voices of him and his sister arguing about something.
Quinn was bloody and ready, they just had to start making noise to catch the group’s attention. Your breathing slowly increased in pace as the realization of what just happened started hitting you. You shouldn't have kissed him, you shouldn't have let him kiss you, you practically just told him yes—
Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit. You threw your shirt aside and groaned in pain. You definitely couldn't move much with a wound that big. Successfully grabbing your phone from the floor, you saw Quinn's text.
Took him a while to leave. Everything alright?
Not really.
Your finger tapped on the side of your phone impatiently. Come on. Come on, come on, come on— you sighed when she started typing.
Did he try something?
We kissed.
Was it consensual?
Yes. That's why i feel so fucking shitty. I shouldn't have.
We'll talk about this later alright? I need to get out there.
Okay.
You laid back on the bathtub and your face scrunched up. Fuck, it was hurting you. Was it pathetic that you couldn't even feel the pain before because you were busy worrying about Ethan? It probably was. He was still in your mind, he had been since you were seventeen.
There was a reason why you broke up, a reason why you tried to avoid him all these months. Guess you can't fall out of love with someone this fast, you had no idea why you thought you could achieve that. It was Ethan Kirsch we were talking about. That made it even harder.
Your eyes couldn't stare at the white ceiling for much longer, you were starting to blink a lot and you somehow feeling yourself losing blood. You didn't know if that was possible, or you were starting to hallucinate. Only thing you knew for sure, is you were dizzy as fuck. There were screams and thuds resonating through the thin walls of the apartment, the sounds of footsteps and running.
You weren't sure of how much time passed since Ethan left, but the voices and slams on the door became closer, a lot louder. Your eyes were starting to open again at the closeness of the noises. Someone called your name. Screamed your name, actually. It wasn't hard for you to recognize Mindy's voice. You blinked, trying to adjust to the lighting of the bathroom as Chad's sister noticed the crimson water in the bathtub, panting.
“Fuck, you gotta come with us!” Her eyes drifted somewhere else and yours followed. Sam was holding the door to the living room, with your ex-boyfriend relentlessly pounding on it. She looked horrified.
“Help her put something on. Fast!” She commanded, Mindy nodded and attempted to help you out of the water, but you kept shaking your head and pushing her arms away.
“I can't walk, I can't walk, I can't walk…”
“You're gonna die if you stay here!” Sam yelled.
Mindy choked out a breath, grabbing your pile of clothes from the floor. “I'm sorry about Quinn, but you need to come with us!”
“I can't— I won't. He thinks I'm dead.”
“With all the screaming, no, he doesn't anymore!” Sam ran towards you, hugging your shoulders to pull you out of the water. Mindy's eyes were wide and her hand was clutching at the wound on her arm after leaving you to put your underwear and shirt back on. Ethan was banging on the door harder every time, and Sam was starting to get impatient.
You rushed into Quinn's room and your jaw flew open at the sight of Anika bleeding that much. What did Ethan do to her?
The door creaked as it broke. Sam dashed into Quinn's room, and she and Mindy barricaded it with a closet. Your gaze shifted to Sam's boyfriend, staring at you and Anika bleeding out from the other window. Billy's daughter was looking for a way out, and you weren't exactly sure of what was happening while you stared at the door, wondering how much it would take Ethan to break it like the past one. Anika was whimpering, your arm wrapping around her absentmindedly.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Sam panted, catching your attention. Ethan was taking too long… And Danny was using a… ladder. To help you cross. What the fuck? “You three go first!” Sam turned to you. You glanced at Mindy, who looked offended.
“Someone needs to hold the door, Sam! Anika and Y/N are losing blood!” She shouted. “Go!”
“Shit…” Sam gave you a look before going first. Mindy was still holding the door, and Anika clutched her stomach, trying to contain as much blood as possible. You started blinking, feeling cold sweat run down your temples. You laid back on the bed, knowing you had to stay conscious for this to work. Mindy wasn't getting away from the door…
“I'll hold it.” You offered, stumbling with your own feet as you got up.
“You're practically dying, I'm not leaving you to do this!” She scowled, but you ignored her words and still stood next to her, pushing the closet onto the door.
“So now you're being nice to me?” You bit the inside of your cheek, because you knew this was probably the last time you'd see her.
“I was wrong.” She choked out, giving you a nod. No, she wasn't. Sam yelled for someone to go next. You and Mindy looked at Anika. She was the closest to passing out.
You started falling asleep before waking up again, you had to wait for Anika to get a little closer to Danny's window… when your eyes opened, you realized you fell asleep for another second. Shit. You glanced back, seeing Ethan's arm fully in the room and swinging his knife through the small opening of the door. You glared at Mindy. If she pushed back one more time, she was going to fucking hurt him.
You faked passing out, collapsing sideways to push her down onto the floor. Ethan kicked the door open after you landed on top of Mindy. She struggled to push you from on top of her, but she managed to... without enough time to get to the window. Sam and Anika's screams echoed as Ethan's hands closed around Mindy's neck, choking her right beside you.
You opened your eyes, seeing hers widen. Mindy's lips parted as if to yell something, but Ethan slammed her down on the floor, pressing harder on her neck until she gradually stopped fighting back. Her arms fell limp, and you glanced up at him. Anika was next.
You were faking being passed out, so you didn't really know what was going on until a loud thud reached your ears. Holy shit. Did she fall?
You stayed still, listening to Ethan's footsteps with your eyes closed. He knelt down beside you, you caught your lower lip between your teeth.
"Good girl." He praised, caressing your cheek with two of his gloved fingers. He forgot to turn off his voice changer.
Tumblr media
“Do you think they're going at it?” Ethan's head turned to look at you, arms folded across his stomach. His chest rose and fell softly with each breath, the Christmas lights that took you half an hour to untangle and install in Quinn's car hitting his face directly.
You knew he was cold— you could tell. But he wasn't saying it out loud. You felt guilty. He told you to bring thicker blankets, but you completely forgot with how much your best friend kept rambling about her new boyfriend while you packed for your road trip.
Your forehead wrinkled as you munched on a Skittle, nodding emphatically “Is that even a question? Definitely.”
Ethan reached for a handful of candy from the bowl in your hands, propping himself on an elbow. “You think? I thought they only came here because he wanted to know the woods.”
You rolled your eyes, his expression curious as he chewed. “You know Quinn.”
“But I don't know the guy.”
“He's probably a jock who just wants sex, Eth. They all are. and Quinn is…” You squinted, searching for words. “Quinn.”
“Don't call her that.” He protested, pausing mid-movement to glare at you.
“Don't look at me like that.” You retorted, bringing the bowl to your chest to protect it from him. Ethan stared at you through his long eyelashes, apathetic. You let out a groan when he reached out to grab something behind you, his chest inadvertently ending up above your legs. “Personal space, mister.”
“I just want my water…” He grumbled under his breath, the two of you sharing a menacing look after he sat up straight again.
“She's my best friend. I know her more than you do.”
“Is that so?” He twisted the cap open, challenging you. “How?”
“You're like… okay, let's put it this way. You're family.” The way he rolled his eyes made you crack a smile. He looked adorable with his tousled, curly hair imprinted by the pillow. The two of you had woken up from a two-hour nap just about ten minutes ago, and you were a sucker for freshly awake, moody Ethan. “Would she tell your dad what she did last night with a guy she found at a party? No. You're the younger sibling, it's the same principle.”
“She tells me things.” He sounded almost offended, suddenly forgetting he was about to take a sip of his water.
“Yeah, PG-rated things.”
“I'm eighteen.”
“And? Wait til you're 21 to brag about your age.”
He shook his head slightly, wiping his mouth with his wrist. “You're not even 21 yet.”
“Do you see me flexing about my age? No.”
Ethan let out a sigh, probably tired of your shit already and grabbed his pillow, laying his head down on it again. You felt your face fall as your features softened. Maybe you were a little too harsh on him. You stared, because he was probably the most beautiful guy you'd met. The dark circles under his eyes were noticeable, pale skin almost translucent.
He was worried, and him being worried made you worried, so… that was inconvenient. Richie left Modesto with Sam the day before, and while you trusted him to man the fuck up and make things go as planned, Ethan didn't.
“He's gonna be alright, Eth.” You reassured him.
“Why did we come here?” He mumbled, your heart twinging at his small sniff of him. You should've brought the extra blankets…
You delicately caressed his cheek, his eyes surrendering to your apologetic touch. You felt more confident in fondling his skin and feeling the warmth beneath your fingertips. If you could just… Your thumb brushed over his lower lip before you leaned in, pressing a kiss to his soft forehead.
“Quinn's supposed to be with me, so I can't be home or your dad will suspect she lied. And as for you…” You paused, and Ethan's lips began to twitch into a wide smile, eliciting a chuckle from you. “Consider it a favor, you never go out.”
“Oh, yeah?” He teased, his eyes lazily opening. “That's sweet.”
“Never sweeter than you, baby girl.” You caressed his lower lip, his eyes rolling as he pushed your hand away. “You're mean to me.” You showed him a pout, and he just shook his head.
“Deal with it.”
You tugged at his blanket to discover part of his chest, getting a frown you completely ignored when you turned around, showing him your back. Quinn was a few cars away from you, but far enough so you couldn't hear or know what was going in there.
You almost winced. Not like you wanted to know. Apparently this was a popular place for people to come and hook up. You were just closing your eyes and hoping you wouldn't hear anything. Even finding a racoon would probably be better than that shit.
"It would probably be uncomfortable." Ethan mused after a while, and you got on your side to frown at him.
"Are we still discussing this?" Your smile immediately faded at his raised eyebrows. "Uhm— It's cold, they'd freeze."
"Not big enough to move."
"What if a fox saw the lights and started scratching the door in the middle of it?" Ethan frowned before the two of you chuckled. At least you were making him laugh now. You were a bad friend.
"If there's not a blanket under them, it'll hurt their backs." You didn't give it much thought before nodding in agreement, eyes slowly drifting downwards to look at the blanket beneath the two of you. The idea that popped up in your head scared you. He was telling you this because… Lifting your chin again, Ethan's gaze met yours, and next thing you knew, he leaned in, kissing you.
You immediately wrapped your arms around his neck, your hands finding his hair and playing with it while he stretched his arm to grab his pillow. His arms wrapped around your waist to have support of your body and lay your head on the pillow, your back pressing against the fuzzy blanket. His thighs straddled your legs. “Is this okay?” He breathed out, looking down at you, but he didn't seem to have any intention of stopping.
You answered by firmly pressing your lips onto his again. Ethan grunted into the kiss, returning it like his life depended on it. His body was so soft and comfortable against yours, you barely felt any pain when he grabbed both your wrists and pinned them above your head with one hand, but it was still uncomfortable. “Eth, my hair…” He stopped, noticing his arms pressing down on your hair.
“Shit, I'm sorry.” He quickly apologized, eyes darting from your lips to your eyes. “Are you alright?”
“I'll be if you keep going.” He nodded, obeying. Your thoughts weren't the clearest thing at the moment. You wanted this so much and you had been wanting it for a long time, the feeling was similar to being high. Even better. This was it. You had him. He had you. You lost yourself in all the caressing, mind clouding with the feeling of him, the touch of his fingertips on your neck and his big hand wrapping around your susceptible throat as he kissed you.
His body weight on yours was taking the air out of your lungs, but the feeling of being helpless only helped increase the violent hammering of your heart inside your ribcage. You adored him. Every single inch of him. You were panting, the heat all the pillows and blankets around the two of you were providing making you sweat badly.
You helped him pull his black hoodie over his head, his bare arms squeezing you against him immediately after. "I'll take care of you, okay? Just relax." He kissed the corner of your mouth, lips trailing down to press gentle kisses onto your neck. You threw your head back, Quinn's pink knit sweater just lying there in the driver's seat, making your mouth go dry.
Why did she leave it there? As a reminder? A reminder that the two of you shouldn't be doing anything weird because you were just friends? Because the person who was kissing your neck right now was your best friend's younger brother? No, you were just being paranoid. That was straight up fucking schizophrenic.
"You're not letting me lay you down." He uttered in a low, guttural tone. You glared at his words.
"Because I'm comfortable like this."
"With your elbows flexing like that?" He withdrew his mouth from your neck, staring up at you, out of breath. "Really?"
"Are you mad at me right now?" You inquired. Ethan looked away before starting to get up. "Can you please not—"
"No."
"What did I do!?"
"Nothing," he snarled. You sighed as he offered his hands to help you up. Taking them, you brought your legs to your chest awkwardly. It was clear he wanted answers with how he stared at you, and he knew you too well to lie to him. "What's wrong?"
"It doesn't... feel right." You choked out, glaring up at his face, and wishing he would understand. Ethan looked taken aback but quickly recovered.
"This doesn't feel right?"
"Yeah."
"Is it because of me?" He asked, and the look you gave him was offended.
"No, of course not. But you're Quinn's—"
"Brother, yeah. She doesn't care." His eyes narrowed. Was he fucking mocking you right now?
"How do you know?"
"It's Quinn."
"Don't be saying that about my best friend.”
Ethan's jaw clenched, it took him a moment to collect himself before he looked away from your face, exhaling the breath he was holding. “Alright.”
“Alright.” You agreed.
The two of you fell silent, focusing anywhere else that wasn't each other. Ethan fidgeted with the blanket, eyes on your phone laying next to the candy bowl. You stared at the rings wrapped around your fingers, chewing on your lip. You had to get up— you knew that. One of the two of you would eventually have to.
This was the smartest decision, and yet you felt empty. Like you had just closed the door that led to the single thing you had dreamt about for years but weren't able to get. It was alright, you tried to tell yourself. You had a friendship to keep. A great one.
Ethan knew the good and bad parts of you. He had seen you at your lowest, and he still stayed. Why? Because he was your friend. Your best friend. The one boy you had shared everything with. But if that was true, then why was there a difference in what you felt toward Richie and Ethan? Richie was your friend, and Ethan was... something more.
Your chest caved and squeezed your heart as you sighed. The little sound caught the brunet’s attention, prompting you to look up at his zealous face too. It took two seconds of eye contact for the two of you to start making out. Again. You rolled on the blanket a few times, almost dislodging the Christmas lights with how much the two of you were moving. You were on top when Ethan pushed your shoulders, his face scrunched up.
“This is wrong.”
You breathed heavily, confused. “What? Why?”
“I should be taking you to a hotel.” His grip on your shirt tightened, but he looked more mad at himself than at you as he tried to catch his breath. “For starters.”
“Oh my god, Ethan! Why would you—”
“Listen to me.” He demanded. His hands slid from your waist to your cheek, cupping your face in his hands. “We don't even have—”
“I'm on the pill.” You spoke over him. He paused, but he didn't look phased at all.
“That's only 87% effective.” Ethan's lips twitched, displeased, confusing you.
“How do you know that?”
He shook his head, delicately tucking away strands of your hair. “I wanted to be informed when this happened.”
“You were waiting for this to happen!?” The red creeping up to his face made you know you probably came off more panicked than you intended to. Shit.
“Weren't you?” He tried to play it off miserably. You moved away from on top of him, looking around for your missing shirt desperately.
“No. I was just praying every day it wouldn't.”
“Does that mean you—” He hesitated as he swallowed, sitting up. His eyes never left your face, looking vulnerable. Those angel eyes looked so fucking vulnerable you just wanted to hug him. But wasn't this an argument? You had to make up your mind. You found your shirt, but you didn't even care anymore. “Is this a one night stand? I mean— Are we doing this just because we feel like It, or is this your way to say you love me back?”
A shiver ran down your spine at his words. Fuck, no… “Put your hoodie on.” You groaned, and Ethan looked away from you frustratedly
The only reason you weren't answering him was because you were scared. This wasn't supposed to happen, at least not that soon…
“I do love you, Ethan.” The words just slipped out of your lips, surprising both of you. He raised his head, making sure you weren't joking. “And I don't want to break your heart.”
“You will if we keep living like this.” He admitted. “What's stopping you?”
You tried to not look down, you really did, but you were too much of a coward to not start playing with your rings. “Honestly? It's too messy. I don't want things to get weird with Quinn—”
“She doesn't care, Y/N.” He interjected, and you closed your eyes in frustration. That's what he always said, but you couldn't know for sure. You didn't want to find out. “If anything, I think she would be happy you chose someone she approves of.”
“I'm gonna fuck up my relationship with Quinn if this goes wrong…” You rubbed your temples, but looked up at the silence coming from him. He looked tense, like he was about to burst out the car and murder the first person he saw. You moved away slightly, contemplating.
You'd go to hell if you admitted out loud you found that attitude of his… enticing. He let out a breath when he saw you crawling towards him. His arms snaked around you, holding you close and lifting you slightly to move you onto his lap. “Don't be mad.”
“I'm not.” He crooned, you winced slightly as his nose pressed into the curve of your bare neck, next to your bra strap. He took in a deep breath.
“Sure.” You gripped the back of his black tank top, trying to relax. “You'll be wrinkled all over by the time you're 40 if you keep frowning.”
“I'm not mad at you, Y/N.” He repeated, he looked honest as his watery eyes met yours. Why did he look like he wanted to cry?
“And that's it?” You questioned. “I'm supposed to calm down because you told me it'd be okay?”
“Am I lying? Quinn's gonna be happy for us, I know that. But if you don't feel ready… then we can hide it.” He nodded solemnly, you raised an eyebrow.
“So, what? Am I like your lover now?”
“No.” He cringed, you let out a chuckle as he stopped caressing you. “That's not what I meant— We can just stay low for now. Not tell anyone about us.”
He waited, and after a moment of pondering, you sighed. You just had to look for the right moment to tell Quinn. You'd be more prepared by then. “Okay.”
Ethan's lips parted, curls wiggling as he nodded. You didn't know why he was like this, but you had to calm him down. You always had to. Ethan was aggressive, that was obvious. But he also used to be so sensitive.
“It's alright, Eth. It's alright…” You grabbed his face, staring at his big expressive eyes before pressing your mouth on his tenderly. Ethan muttered a "thank you" before slowly burying his face into your neck again. You felt his soft eyelashes against your skin as he closed his eyes, arms squeezing your waist.

10k+ words
I woke up in my all pink room to the sound of my alarm blaring in my ears, as I sat up I thought 'Wait, what was my dream again?' I get out of bed as my thoughts continue. 'I remember feeling trapped in rising heat and there were plastic or… cardboard cut-outs all around me? And my gums roots were pushing out my teeth and the voice of a thousand angels said to me, "It's temporary."
'Maybe that should be my new mantra as I step into what will inevitably be the worst years of my life.' I walk over to my calendar and I draw a red heart around the wretched day that it is. The first day of hell.
'Ah yes, off to a world in which girls are only to wear pink dresses and boys blue pants. Well, I dyed my uniform and embroidered flowers on the sleeves.' I open my walk-in closet door. 'Speaking of, I should probably change into my uniform right now… Nah, that shits itchy. It can wait.
I step into my bathroom and I look into my mirror as I brush my half black half pastel rainbow streaked hair with my jade green hair brush with a golden heart on the back. 'Oh yeah, and in my dream, you know when the air below me was sucking my teeth out of their sockets, I noticed that my front two teeth stayed and the gap between them just kept getting larger and larger… How's that even possible? I know, right?' I squirt toothpaste on my baby blue toothbrush and I brush my teeth, after a few seconds I spit it out and I place the brush back on the counter as I step out of my bathroom and I head through my room into the kitchen.
'I wish my mom wasn't passed out right now and could at least drive me to the bus stop…' I grab my "alpha bites crunch" cereal and a bowl. I shook the box to get cereal out but instead I was surprised by my spider, Phillipe. "Phillipe? What are you doing in there? Don't scare me like that" I exclaimed as I watched Phillipe crawl on the dining room table.
'What was that angel's name again? Was it Lily or Layla? No, I think it was Lilith.'
Kindergarten. Wheels on the bus
The pink school bus with a blue interior picked me up at the stop and I chose to sit next to my best friend Angelita but it quickly got way too loud in the bus. I watched the bus driver drink from a flask as he continued driving to the sleepaway school.
"I feel so sick…" I spoke to Angelita. "I can't believe we have to do this." she responded. "Do you think we'll make any friends?" I asked as I looked at her in her brown eyes, "I hope so, but at least we have each other."
"That's true." I said with a sigh.
I heard the girls behind me laugh at each other before a pink paper airplane got thrown directly at my head. I turned toward the dyed blue boy who threw it before Angelita picked up the paper airplane and she read the text within before she turned around and yelled at them, "Real mature!"
"What does it say?" I asked, before she could tell me I leaned over and I read the neat handwriting on the paper. It read: "Gap toothed bitch."
I frowned after I read it, but my sadness only got worse when the kids behind me started mocking me…
"Awww does the bunny rabbit need some tissues?" Kelly, my blond bully with shoulder length hair and blue eyes teased.
"Its okay, don't listen to them. They're just plastic bullies." Angelita tried to comfort me but the kids behind me were too loud. Their bullying was getting to me. They were all standing up and saying "Wah wah, Cry baby." which was definitely making fun of my name, Cry Baby.
I silenced all of the hate in my mind so it wouldn't get to me anymore than it already did.
'This… Is K-12.'
-
All the chatter simmers down as the bus gets to our stop. Me and Angelita watch everybody file out of the bus and into the clean white school. We wait until everyone is out before we get up and leave the bus.
As we walk into the dark blue doors of the school a big bell on the very top of the school rings, showing that it's almost class time so me and Angelita push open the doors that were 2 times the size of our 5 year old bodies.
First grade Class fight
As we walk through the halls, littered with statues and paintings of ghosts and mystical creatures of the unknown I strike up a conversation with my friend.
"I don't know why people are so scared of death." I said nonchalantly. "I agree!" She replied, "It's just another part of life."
"You start in the womb, and you end in the tomb."
Angelita laughed as I said that, but then she asked me a question that made me think. "Wait a second… Where is everybody?" I hum in response, I didn't know either.
I changed the topic of the conversation, "I don't know if it's just because it's cold in here… but I'm getting kind of a… creepy chill down my back." I said. "I love it!" me and Angelita said in unison.
The second we turned around some ghost in a white victorian style dress and her hair tied up walked straight through the right wall to the left wall behind us. We turned around just in time to catch a glimpse of the ghost, we sped up the stairs after that.
"What even was that!?" Angelita yelled, "Scary." I replied before sighing. "What's the room number again?" Angelita spoke quietly this time, "222…" I nodded.
We looked in front of us before reading the room numbers in unison.
"221…223…" Then we looked at the door in front of us, "222…" We stare at each other then we enter the room. Officially becoming students at the worst rated school in the country.
-
The teacher immediately scolded us when we entered the room. "Class! Would you like to inform Cry Baby and Angelita of what rule they did not follow today?
"When the bell rings you must be in your assigned seat." the entire class said in a bored tone.
"Are you deaf?" The teacher asked, "Sit down!"
"Sorry Ms. Daphne." Both me and Angelita said at the same time before we rushed to our seats and we sat down.
As soon as we sat down the announcements started going off so the entire class stood up, except for one boy. Henry.
"All rise" Ms. Daphne said as she walked around the room with her ruler pointed towards the class.
The teacher glared at him before speaking, "On your feet." Ms. Daphne insisted.
The pledge started, "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America…"
"I'm being generous with you boy." Ms. Daphne warned, "Last chance to stand and show some respect." She finished while glaring at Henry.
"with liberty and justice for all." The pledge ended.
Henry shook his head before stating, "You hear that? Liberty and justice for all? Thats bullshit." Henry said before scoffing.
Ms. Daphne stomped over to her desk and she pressed a button which called the detention crew over to escort Henry out of the room.
The door slammed open and identical men with shaved brown hair and full beards wearing gray full body uniforms stormed into the room. "Grab the boy!" One of them yelled before they picked up Henry from under his arms, near his armpits and they started dragging the young boy out of the room.
"Get off of me!" Henry yelled while kicking, trying to escape the strong mens grip, "I didn't do anything!" His voice slowly faded away as they dragged him out of the room and slammed the door shut.
I was scared by this so I stayed quiet the rest of class until Brandon, my crush, turned around and tapped my shoulder asking for my eraser. Of course I handed it to him as soon as he asked.
Kelly saw all of it. She saw her boyfriend since kindergarten tapping my shoulder and asking me a question. Of course she got jealous so she wrote me a little note on a piece of pink paper.
She threw me the note in a crumpled up ball, it landed in front of me on my desk. She giggled to her friend as I opened it. The note read: "You at recess” And a drawing stick man dead in front of a grave right under that.
I crumpled up the paper again and I threw it back down on my desk before I continued drawing on my piece of paper.
-
Soon enough it was nap time and the desks were moved to make room for little, uncomfortable mattresses and sleeping bags on the floor.
I tucked myself in but not before nodding at angelita, mutually agreeing to use our powers to make a little fort. I crawl around until I find my friend.
The fort looks a little more like a cave as the tunnels are thin, but it's cozy.
Finally, we found each other. "There you are!" Angelita whispered with an excited tone in her voice.
"How do they expect us to sleep in there?" I complained, sitting down on the mattress in our little fort.
"I don't know…" She said before yawning, "I am kinda sleepy though."
"Well, wake up." I began, "I got that thrown at my head." I said as I tossed Angelita the crumpled up note.
As she uncrumpled the paper her expression slowly turned to one of shock. "Who drew this?" She asked, "That girl kelly…" I sighed, "I think she's trying to rip my head off or something."
"Well what are you going to do?" My friend inquired, "You've gotta defend yourself."
"I can't defend myself! I don't know how to fight, I just, I don't even know how to do th-" Angelita cut me off by slapping me across the face. Hard.
I put my hand over the place she slapped, "Ow!"
"Hold it together girl." She replied, I scoffed at her before she continued, "We are capable of doing whatever we want." She stated before using her powers to start a flame in the palm of her hand, she held it in front of me.
I shook my head in disagreement, I produced water in my hand to put out the mini fire she started.
"I can't, that's cheating!" I commented which made her sigh and bring her hand back to where it originally was.
"Do you really think we would have these abilities if we weren't supposed to use them?"
"I don't know. I just feel like I'd have an unfair advantage."
"Well, I don't know. Why don't you call your mom and ask her what she thinks you should do?”
"My mom?" I asked, to which she hummed in agreement. "No, it's okay… She's… Probably sleeping right now and honestly I don't think she'd even pick up the phone."
Angelita used her powers to produce a white dial-up phone out of nothing, she placed it on the mattress in front of me, she picked up the phone and she handed it to me.
I sighed then took it then dialed the phone and I called my mom.
"She's not going to pick up."
"Let's see"
-
It's now recess time, I would be lying if I said I wasn't absolutely terrified for my safety so I decided to sit on the grass with my friend and wait it out.
"Did you see what she was wearing?" I heard Kelly say, obviously I was going to snoop on this conversation… I mean it's juicy and I'm only human.
"Like, it was embarrassing for everyone, and like, I told her! I was trying to be helpful, I gave her advice, I was like 'That's ugly!'" I got distracted from the conversation Kelly was having when Brandon, Kelly's boyfriend, sat next to me.
I turned my head and I looked him in the eyes with a big smile before tuning back into Kelly's conversation.
"And she just… She took it like personally, she was getting all mad about it. I was like I'm helping you.-" I watched as one of Kelly's "Friends” tapped on her shoulder. "Hey, Kelly?” The girl asked, "Stop!” Kelly slapped the girl's hand away. "Don't interrupt me.”
I see one of the girls that was with Kelly pointing at my little group so I act like I was just talking to Angelita and Brandon and not listening to their conversation, but it looks like they were just pointing out the fact that Brandon is with me.
"Are you even listening to me?" Kelly asked her friends before looking where they were pointing, making her look directly into my eyes as I talked to her boyfriend.
Kelly stormed towards us, pushing people out of the way so she could get to us faster. People gathered around us as she punched me directly in the face so i'd be on the ground. When my back hit the ground she sat on top of my legs, keeping me down, and she punched me in the face multiple times.
The kids all around us were chanting 'FIGHT!’ as she was doing this, obviously it got to her because she pulled a dagger out of her dress pocket and she held down my arm and cut it open on the inside of my arm right above my elbow.
I couldn't take the pain anymore so I activated my powers as Angelita told me to do, the leaves started floating because I made both me and Kelly float.
Kelly screamed “What are you doing?” as I did this. She was terrified, it was working. She looked around and she yelled again, “Put me down you freak!”
I used my powers to extend my braids and choke her with them, she grabbed my braids as they were all she could hold onto.
I saw Angelita looking up at the scene while smiling because I'm finally defending myself, but everyone else was gasping and covering their mouths in shock.
When Kelly gasped for air I finally let her go. It was perfect timing too because the vice principal came out and almost saw what happened.
-
It turns out I wasn't sneaky. The vice principal was dragging us by our ears to her office.
"Who would've thought that young ladies like would-” She started to scold us but Kelly interrupted her, "My mom spent good money getting these ears done!” When she said that the vice principal let go of our ears. "You have really blown it this time! Sit down!” After we heard that, me and Kelly sat down. “I mean it.” The woman whispered.
‘I shouldn't have lost control like that.’ I thought, ‘She's not a bad person, she's just… Projecting her insecurities on me.’ I thought, I rested my chin on my hand as I sat.
Soon I got bored and I used my powers to see what's happening in the principal's office…
I saw a woman with short blue hair sitting, waiting for the principal to talk to her. Actually, I believe it was Ms. Harper.
The principal sat in front of her, taking a puff from a cigar before speaking.
"You said you're… Dressing as a woman now?” The principal asked.
"Yes, I'm transitioning.” Ms. Harper replied, "Transitioning…” The principal laughed before continuing, "You know I can't let you influence the children with this ridiculous behavior.” Ms. Harper gasped as the principal spoke.
“And from now on you want us to address you as…?”
"Ms. Harper, correct.” The vice principal laughed at her, “The kids really connect with me, I love my job and I'd really love to stay! But I need to be my most authentic self! I AM a woman!” Ms. Harper said, the principal frowned at this and he exclaimed, "Mr. Harper you're fired!”
-
I came back into reality and I saw Kelly staring at some kid that was eating glue by the handful, his hair was spiked up into two horn-like spikes and he was hunched over next to Kelly.
I look away from the disgusting display and instead I watch the kid next to me open a clear bottle of pink pills.
"What are those?” I asked him, and he immediately replied. "He forces us to take these pills. Each color is a different dosage. I'm on pink, which is the lightest dose.” He swallows the pill without water.
"Why is he forcing medication on everyone?” I asked, "...To control us." The boy said with a small smile. "So we can’t leave.” He finished.
The kid next to Kelly continued to absolutely destroy the glue, he was sucking on his fingers, making loud mouth noises. "That's disgusting!” Kelly exclaimed, the kid frowned and put the glue container down.
Fourth grade Nurses office
After the show and tell in my last class I had to go to the nurses office, but the nurses were not exactly healing my wounds. Instead they were cutting my hair and drugging me up… I knew this school would be bad but I never thought it would be this bad.
But luckily my guardian angel Lilith saved me and angelita from the torture that we faced in the nurses office.
"Wait! Why are you leaving us here?” Angelita asked the angel, I added onto her statement, "We need to come with you…”
Lilith smiled at us and she spoke, "Continue on, And live your truth.” She paused, "Do not hold fear in your heart.” Lilith finished.
"Please, we don't want to die here…” I mumbled.
"You've had many bodies before this, and you will continue to have more.” Lilith stated, "You're immortal.”
"But we're exhausted…” Angelita whispered.
"We don't want to feel this anymore” I agreed
"We must feel the physical pain of this world, because the only way we can truly learn is through experience.” Lilith said, I pouted, "Please…” I said in a shaky voice.
Lilith turned away from us and she walked back into the door she came out of, that door sunk into the ground.
-
I sighed as I walked through the hallways with my best friend, I looked at all of the statues and paintings on the walls.
“Oh no…" Angelita said, “I'm going to be late for class." She sighed. "Who cares at this point.” I laughed.
"True” She agreed
“I'm so exhausted…” I complained to her, she nodded and said, "Same.”
Suddenly beautiful music played by an orchestra came into hearing rage. "Do you hear that?” Angelita asked, “I do!” I excitedly said as I walked with Angelita towards the sound.
Angelita pointed towards a huge, fancy looking door. “It's coming from over there!” Angelita said excitedly. We walked towards the oud music and we pressed our ears against the large white door with a golden door handle.
"Should we check it out?” I asked, “Yeah!” Angelita responded, “Okay…” I said as I put my hand on the door handle, preparing to open it. Angelita put her hand on the door handle too and she spoke, “Okay count on three… One, Two…Three!” We opened the door to see a big luxurious ballroom with what looked like almost a hundred ghosts of all shapes and sizes slow dancing with each other.
We looked around the ballroom for a few seconds until… I sneezed. I ruined the entire moment with just one sneeze. The music stopped and the ghosts let go of each other and turned to look at us.
Angelita waved at the ghosts, "Hello! You all look… Ravishing!” She said, “Bewitching even." I added, it only made the ghosts madder as they yelled and ran at us with their arms reaching towards us.
Both me and Angelita ran behind the doors and we hurriedly pushed them shut with all that was in us. As soon as we closed it we heard clawing and knocking against the door so we decided to leave.
“We should get to class!" I said
“Y-yeah…” She stuttered, still in shock because of the events that just occurred
“See you!
"Yeah, see you later!”
fifth grade. Drama club
"Tragedy, and comedy. Two sides of the same dramatic coin!” My drama teacher said as I walked into the theater. "And we are going to be exploring both in this play." He put his hand on his hip and he watched me try to go to my seat.
“Even the late comers." He said sternly as I sat down. Everyone turned towards me for absolutely no reason. I guess they're just nosy. They turned back around when the teacher started speaking again.
“Alright everyone, please turn to your scripts, turn to page 2 and find the role to which you've been assigned.” His accent really shone through as he spoke this sentence, this guy is extremely animated.
When I saw my role I raised my hand, "Right, so about that… Um… Is it possible to get assigned a different role? Maybe one that's not so domestic? Like a film director, or the president of the United states?” I asked, he shot down my question with this answer, “A harlot perhaps?” Everyone laughed at his joke but I didn't. I just sat in my chair with a frown.
The boy in front of me turned around and just added salt to the wound. "President? What a joke. Your kind are too soft and too sensitive to handle a man's job.”
"Having a larger capacity to feel and express emotion are one of the many qualities that make us SUPERIOR to your kind.” I replied with a smile.
-
When the time came to perform the show I ended up putting a clothes iron to the boy that said that thing to me a couple weeks ago's face. I then yelled at the audience that was obviously being brainwashed with those pills that the boy was telling me about so I made an attempt to snap them out of it.
"You're being brainwashed! Can't you see what's happening? Open your eyes!” The guards that my teacher had watching the show grabbed my arms and tried to pull me off the stage.
"Get off of me! Get off!" I yelled as they pulled my arms.
"WAKE UP!” I yelled at the audience before using my power to push the security guards off of me which also caused the kids to snap out of it.
They all ran out of the theater, including Angelita, so I came with them. I opened the door to the principal's office and everyone ran into the room and to his desk. They fought off the nurses and the rabbit-men (Men with rabbit heads, obviously.) and they all went around the principals desk, grabbing him and ripping his limbs off.
I smirked as I watched them tear his body apart with just their hands. Afterwards the janitor swept his torn off body parts away and into the garbage disposal.
Sixth grade Strawberry shortcake
I met a girl earlier named Y/n and I was about to play tennis with her but we had to bury the principal first. Luckily me and my best friend in the whole world were almost done so I can hang out with admittedly the cutest girl I've seen in a while.
We saw her writing in her green journal while walking along the path that extends from the school to the playground.
y/n pov:
"Y/n! Wait up!” Cry baby yelled as she ran up to me, Cry baby's hair was tied up into buns, I think it makes her look cute. I honestly don't know how she didn't realize that I like her yet since I've always been incredibly clingy towards her ever since we met.
"Did you find a place to dump the principal?” I asked, Angelita nodded and Cry baby responded to my question, "Yeah, just did it. Done deal.”
-
We sat on the pink and blue tennis court in the middle of the courtyard with our rackets up, me and Cry Baby hit the ball back and forth while Angelita read a magazine called "TEEN QUEEN" on the sidelines.
Suddenly Angelita said something slightly odd, "Did you guys know that there are actually 2 holes down there?" I was confused so I asked, "You didn't know you had a butthole?” which made Cry Baby giggle.
"No! There's two separate holes.” Angelita said, "Are you sure?” Cry Baby asked and Angelita just said "Mhm!”
"Then I think I need to go to a doctor!” Cry Baby said, but I wasn't paying attention. I was focused on the fact that when Angelita blew a bubble it encased the ball in a bubble and it's now floating away.
"Hey! Hey guys!” I exclaimed but neither of them were paying attention to my words. They were still talking about the earlier topic. "Hey guys!” I repeated but nope. Still nothing.
“Oh! I get it now! So one hole you can pee out of and another-” Cry Baby began but i just tuned their conversation out. "Why does nobody listen to me?” I whispered to myself, "Guys the ball is floating away!” They finally heard me and they turned around to see that the ball literally was floating away.
“Oh!” Angelita exclaimed before quickly getting up and chasing the ball with Cry Baby. I ran after it with them too, "The ball!” I laughed.
“I feel like we're going the wrong way.” Cry Baby said as she tried to find the pink tennis ball with us. Luckily it popped, but it didn't fall towards us. Instead, it fell in front of a boy that was reading a book.
He picked up the ball and he handed it to us when we ran over. He seemed nice.
Cry Baby pov: (Again) Also, seventh grade, Lunchbox friends
I opened my eyes to see a sky full of beautiful shining stars and the voice of Lilith all around me. I spoke to her, Lilith said, "What's wrong my dear?” As I laid on the dirt ground, holding back tears.
I sighed, “I just don't want to do this anymore…” I whined, “I don't wanna feel this pain and I dont wanna be here on Earth…” I frowned as I watched the stars flicker in the sky. "Please just take me with you…” I paused, “I just wanna be up there!” I listened to my voice echo as I spoke.
"The greatest power we will hold is that of acceptance. Any storm you face will transform itself into a crystalline rainbow in divine timing.” Lilith spoke, afterwards i closed my eyes and I stopped my daydream.
-
"Hey, you there?” Y/n asked as she grabbed my arm, I just said "Yeah.” As I continued walking up the spiral stairs with her and Angelita.
Angelita clutched her stomach as she walked up the stairs with us which only made us confused. “Are you okay?” I asked my best friend as she headed up the stairs.
“Ugh… I feel so sick… Like this is the worst stomach pain I've ever experienced.” Angelita said then she knelt down on the last step.
Both me and y/n saw the blood on the bottom of her skirt and it became clear what was happening. She finally got her period. Me and () looked each other in the eyes and we said, “Ohhh…” In unison.
-
We opened the door to the bathroom and Angelita started to complain. “Ugh! Why right now!?”
“I mean it had to happen at some point."" Y/n pointed out. We walked up to the tampon machine and I spoke.
“It says there's one tampon left… Do either of you have any change?” I asked, turning towards them.
"No…” They both said in unison, so I channeled my powers and I opened the machine with my telekinesis.
"Yes!” Angelita whispered as it flung open. “It's empty.” I said in a disappointed tone of voice as I looked at Angelita. I slammed the door closed then spoke again, “Whatever… Who knows what kind of crazy shit is in them anyways!”
“I mean yeah… Toxic shock is real but… Tampons should be free.” Y/n frowned.
"What do I do now?” Angelita said with a sigh, I looked around for something but then I just said, "Toilet paper.”
Angelita made a disgusted face before just heading into the stall and going with it.
After about 3 minutes y/n got bored and decided to speak, "You good in there?” She asked Angelita to which she responded, "Yeah.”
"You sure?" She asked Angelita.
"Yeah, I'm almost done." Angelita responded
"Do you need me to get you another roll of toilet paper?
"That'd be great!”
I leaned against the wall next to the stalls as we waited for Angelita to finish up, then I said "We're gonna be late to class Y/n.”
“Ugh… Empathize with me a little!" Angelita yelled at us from inside the stall, “I'm sorry” I said as I tilted my head back, making my head hit the wall.
Angeita came out of the stall with a sweater around her waist, "Cute sweater!” Y/n said to Angelita when she saw her, "Where'd you get that from?” She asked.
“I just whipped a little something up.” I couldn't help but laugh at that. "What! I wasn't gonna walk around looking like I sat in raspberries all day.” Angelita said before the bathroom door opened and one of the nurses came in. Angelita started washing her hands as the nurse spoke to us.
The nurse bumped me with her shoulder and she scolded us, "Get back to class!” She paused before saying something under her breath “You little bitch.” She slammed the stalls door closed and we left.
Y/n pov.
"Hey guys… I don't know how long I can go with this toilet paper. It's so annoying… It keeps moving around down there.” Angelita sighed after she said this.
"Well good thing you don't have to deal with it much longer!” Cry Baby said with a big smile. "Thank the goddess…” Angelita replied as she smiled back at Cry Baby.
( Back in the bathroom with that one nurse)
She looked down, noticing that she just got her period, "Shit…” The nurse said before checking the pocket on her shirt only for no tampon to be there. “Are you serious?” She then reached for the toilet paper roll only for it to be empty from Angelita.
I arrived in the lunch room with Cry Baby and Angelita and after we got lunch Angelita and I sat at a lunch table, since Cry Baby was way behind us in line she just got to the front. I was watching her get lunch when Kelly came up to her and pulled her away. 'That's weird…’I thought, but I just turned around and talked to Angelita about random things.
Cry Baby pov:
While the blond girls were talking to me, I just got up and walked away from them since I seriously feel no need to be popular.
I came back to the group with a new girl, Magnolia. She had powers like the rest of us so I knew she would end up fitting in. I walked with her, arm in arm, to meet back up with my REAL friends. I would never choose those plastics over what I know is real.
"Hey!” I said as I approached my friends, I smiled as Y/n spoke, "Thank god you're back!” he walked the rest of the way up to me “I thought you were busy becoming a plastic carbon copy” She pouted at me and I smiled harder at her cuteness.
"This is Magnolia, say hi.” I introduced my friends to the new girl, “nice to meet you ladies” Magnolia spoke as she activated her powers, turning her eyes pitch black. Then she deactivated them in just a couple seconds though because our group was pretty… Secretive with our powers.
"Welcome!” Y/n said excitedly as she hugged Magnolia tightly. I looked over to the popular girls to see that one of them had powers like us. She was unpeeling an orange with her mind so it was pretty damn obvious that she was one of us.
"Holy shit!” I said, the girls looked over at Fleur, “Is she… One of us?” Y/n asked, I sighed and I replied to her "Yes but… How do we go up to her?” I asked, "She's sitting with Kelly.” I pointed out.
Magnolia smirked as she came up with the perfect idea, She looked around the group before suggesting something. "Food fight anyone?"
We all hummed in agreement and y/n rapidly nodded, “I like this girl."" She commented which made all of us giggle.
We turn around and I take a step forward as Angelita grabs her pink lunch tray and she hands it to me. "What, do I just throw it?” I asked before I grabbed Angelitas pb&j. "Pretty sure that's how food fights go down.” She smiled as she watched me nervously throw it at a girl across the lunch room.
“Ow!” She exclaimed as the blue boy sitting across from her got up.
"FOOD FIGHT!” He yelled and everyone in the lunchroom threw food at each other, "You're fucking kidding me!” Kelly complained as she got under the lunch table with her little plastic minions.
I laughed and I got under the table with my friends too. “I gotta get in on this!” Angelita yelled as she grabbed some floor spaghetti. "Not with this hair. I just had wash day." Magnolia responded.
We watched Kelly run away from the scene with her group. "She's leaving with Kelly!” Y/n pointed out, I sighed in defeat. "Let's go after them!” Angelita suggested but Y/n quickly tried to convince us otherwise, "Yeah. Let's just start a parade.”
"Cry Baby I think you need to do this alone.” Y/n said, I thought about her words for a second… She was right. I do have to do it alone. “Okay… Wish me luck!” I said as I got out from under the table.
“Aright, good luck bitch!” Y/n yelled to her. "So barbaric…” I heard her whisper as I left.
“If you don't put that floor spaghetti down!” She scolded Magnolia right as I entered the bathroom where Fleur and Kelly were.
I snuck into the stall next to them so I could listen to their words… What Kelly was saying to Fleur honestly broke my heart. She was telling her that her body wasn't perfect enough, that she needed to only eat oranges from now on so she wouldn't gain weight… It was devastating. I knew I had to do something about this.
I waited until Kelly was done yelling at Fleur, right as I was about to come out I heard more yelling. But Fleur was talking to herself. She was yelling horrible things about her body into the mirror
Eighth grade Orange juice.
This has been happening for a year straight. I want to help Fleur so bad but every time I try Kelly gets in the way. Everyday I went into the bathroom with them and I heard Fleur trying to make herself throw up in the stall next to me, luckily today I got my chance to help.
I came up to her after Kelly left, I finally took the chance to speak to her without anybody else in the room with us. I tried my best to give her some advice, "Wanna know something I learned about bodies?” I asked her, “They don't define us.” I looked in the mirror with her then I continued, "We aren't our bodies. They're just temporary.” I looked in her eyes as I spoke this to her.
“I know it seems impossible but try not to expect shallow people to love you. They don't even have the capacity to understand how amazing you are.” I turned towards her before finishing what I was saying, “And we all have to learn how to love ourselves without the approval of others.” I finally heard Fleur talk to me after this.
“I know... It's just extremely overwhelming when everyone around you is making you feel like you're not good enough!” She frowned at me, “As if you're not deserving of the same kind of love if you're different.” She looked down at me since I'm much shorter than her, Fleur stands at 6 feet tall and I'm only 5'2.
“Everyones deserving of love.” I told her, “Everyone.” I repeated. I hugged Fleur from the side and I looked in the mirror with her.
-
There was still chaos outside the lunch room. Everyone was fighting… People were running out into the hallways, people were hiding under tables… It was bad.
I stepped out of the bathroom with Fleur and Angelita yellout out to us, "Cry Baby! Over here!” Fleur followed me as I hid behind the lunch counter with the rest of my friends.
"This is Fleur.” I introduced everyone to her and Fleur waved at them.
The girl next to Kelly tapped her shoulder and Kelly scolded her. "What did we talk about!? Don't touch me!” The girl sighed "Sorry… Yeah I know… Sorry… But isn't that Fleur over there next to Cry Baby?” She pointed to us behind the counter, Kelly turned around and she groaned.
“It's crazy out there!” Angelita yelled to us since it was so loud that we could barely hear her.
“I know, it's literally chaotic!” I yelled back.
I stopped smiling when I saw the rabbit men. They were the security guards of this school, basically they were bun with rabbit heads.
I saw the principal's son follow suit. "It's Leo!” I heard someone whisper, “It’s the principal's son…” I said to myself in disbelief.
“Who started this?” He asked the kids in the lunchroom, “It was that bitch Cry Baby!” Kelly yelled to him, the rabbit men dragged me to detention with them.
-
I sat in detention with my wrists tied to the desks, the nurses occasionally coming in and giving me a shot in a big needle to chill me out and to control my powers so I couldn't escape.
I ended up being able to use my powers through trial and error, I controlled the principal's son's mind and I made him release me from detention by loosening the restraints. I couldn't use my powers for too long though because the old dose of my meds were still going strong. I was able to get out though and I met up with my friends outside of the detention room.
9th grade Y/n pov:
I snuck around the unusually empty hallways, looking for Cry Baby's locker, number 22. I was carrying a note I wrote just for her that was expressing my feelings of love for her… Of course I forgot to sign it though.
When I found Cry Babys locker I quickly stuffed it in there, I looked around the halls and I tried to act natural when I saw that Cry Baby, Angelita and Magnolia were coming my way.
“Okay guys…” I started to speak to my friends but I saw Cry Baby start to go through her locker so I started paying even less attention to what was happening than I was before. I anxiously watched Cry Baby find the letter as I let Angelita take over for me.
The letter read:
I caught a sparkle of light in your eyes that day. I bathed in it, was transported to heaven's gates by it… But I fall at my feet. My words shall only be composed. I can't speak, my inner voice calling my outer self weak.
Admiring from afar, secretly, Y/…
Suspiciously, the last part was crossed out… it looked a lot like the beginning of y/n’s name though, weird.
"Yeah… Sorry.” She started to fold the letter back up so I continued to talk. “Your job is to manipulate the spawn of Satan himself into letting you into his office so we can hijack that loud speaker and get everyone out of here.
Magnolia looked at the note in Cry Baby's hand and she motioned to it. "What's that?” She asked, “I think it's a love letter!” Cry Baby said in an excited tone of voice, “A love letter? From who?” Magnolia asked as if she didn't already know, she was the only person I trusted enough to ask since I knew Angelita would just tell Cry Baby about my secret.
“I don't know, it doesn't say." Cry Baby giggled with Magnolia about the love letter from me. I think she liked it…?
“Alright guys, back to the plan. We already got rid of the principal so that just leaves Leo. We lock him in his office, make a run for it…” I fidgeted with my notebook as I spoke, trying not to look suspicious in front of Cry Baby. “And then we set the place on fire…?” Angelita asked with an unsure voice, "Yes! Exactly.” I responded.
“I don't know about that guys…” Fleur mumbled, she never did take risks like this, it makes sense for her to be hesitant. “I agree. Fire is too cliché.” Cry baby agreed, that settles it. If she thinks it's cliché we aren't doing it… but what other choice do we have?
“I mean you’re right… But at this point what other options do we have?” I asked, which ended up settling it. We're setting the place on fire during senior prom.
10th grade Cry Baby pov: High school sweethearts
I was with my best friend Angelita, walking through the garden before I pulled out one of my blunts and offered it to her, she took it and I lit it for her before she took a big inhale. We both needed this so we'd calm down after a long, stressful school day.
“I hope we don't get caught!” She said as I took the blunt straight out of her mouth and took a drag.
"We should be fine.” I dismissed her worries. We listened to birds chirping as we walked through the beautiful garden, down the gravel path in between bushes carved to look like rabbits.
I handed the blunt to Angelita as I spoke, "Do you ever wonder who we were to each other in a past life?” I asked, “Oh for sure! We probably had hundreds of lives together.” She agreed.
“You could've been my mom.”
"Yeah, or we could've been…”
"Conjoined twins?” We said in unison as we pointed at each other.
“And our parents sold us to a fucking freak show!” I joked with her, "That would explain a lot…” She took another drag from the blunt, "That would.” I responded.
“It's crazy how many medical benefits Mary Jane has.” I sighed before taking the blunt from Angelita, already feeling the weed kicking in, I'm definitely getting calmer.
“I know, and no one gives her any credit!"
"We don't deserve her.” I jokingly pouted as I spoke this sentence which made Angelita giggle. "Wow…” Angelita whispered as we passed a very impressive carving of a rabbit in a bush.
"Speaking of magical plants…” I pointed at the bush and Angelita skipped toward it but I stayed on the gravel path. I watched her admire all of the details intricately carved into the leaves, she touched the tail before jogging back towards me.
-
I opened my leather-bound notebook at the end of the hallway, I could hear someone mumbling at the end of the hallway but I didn't care about that. It's definitely someone just being weird because they think they're alone.
As soon as I looked up I saw the old principal's son Leo speed-walking towards me… Shit… What does he have to say?
"Hey.” He said as he sat down next to me, "Hi…?” I responded with a confused tone in my voice.
“Are you okay?” The boy asked, obviously since I sounded so confused (And admittedly slightly annoyed.) I nodded as an answer to his question since I didn't want to talk to this bitch.
“You sure?”
"Yeah what's up?"
“Um… I… I was looking for you because I wanted to ask you… I would like you to go to the dance with me." I managed to give him a fake smile which felt disgusting to do.
"Really?” I tried to sound excited about him asking me to the dance, I already had my eyes on someone…
"Why?” I asked him, I really did want to know. "Well, I don't know if you got my note but…"
Wait… He wrote the letter? With that poetic touch I just assumed it must've been written by a girl… Damn.
Well, you know what they say! Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
"You mean a lot to me…” He said before I cut him off, “I’d love to go with you.” I lied, luckily I'm a good actress.
“Okay! That'd be great!” He said as he got up and left me alone again in the hallway.
12th grade Recess Y/n pov:
Finally, senior dance. I get to put the plan in motion… Me and my group of friends looked around the ballroom as we took in the intricate details of the gorgeous room.
"Ladies, this place looks beautiful doesn't it?” Everyone hummed in agreement, “It'll make some beautiful ashes.” I finished.
“I'm really nervous… Should we really be doing this?” Fleur asked, she was always so nervous about our little plans. “It'll be fine. Tonights the night.” Angelita comforted her friend
"Just stick to the plan." I told Fleur since I knew she'd probably go off of the plan in some place. "I made it. It's meticulous, you'll be okay.”
I watched as Cry Baby entered in her beautiful ball gown, she looked around at her surroundings, as i watched her I accidentally spilled my punch all over the floor so I just ignored it.
"Wait… Why is she here?” Fleur gestured towards Cry Baby, which made everyone in our group look over at her in curiosity, Cry Baby was just wandering around the ballroom but she looked gorgeous as always
We walk towards her as a group but Angelitas date stops her for a second, “Angelita, Don't you want to dance now?” He asked, Angelita made a disgusted face at the blue boy and she scoffed.
"Don't you want to fuck off now?” The boy walked off sadly after she said that to him, but luckily another girl started talking to him afterwards.
"There is no way in hell you had enough time to get rid of leo.” I confronted Cry Baby, she looked at me confused, "Yeah, shouldn't you be up there?” Fleur asked, "Where…?” Magnolia asked, "The loud speaker!” I yelled at Magnolia in an annoyed tone of voice, she was already sick of being the leader.
"Yeah, why aren't you up there?” Magnolia asked Cry Baby which just made her sigh.
“Okay… So… I got asked to the dance by Leo.” Cry Baby explained to us which just made us more annoyed.
"What?!” Angelita exclaimed at Cry Baby's statement, I just got jealous on top of the anger.
"Seriously? You let that MONSTER manipulate you?” I shouted which seemed to make her have to hold back tears.
"Well…” She trailed off but Fleur interrupted her. "Even I didn't abandon ship this time! And trust me… I wanted to.”
“I thought we were actually going to get out of this place for good.” Magnolia crossed her arms as she spoke and she frowned at Cry Baby.
“Look,” Cry Baby sighed, “I'm sorry.” I tilted my head at her as if I'm questioning her words. “I am!” she looked at Angelita as she spoke, we could tell that she actually felt bad for doing this to us.
We look away from her since we genuinely don't believe a word she's saying.
"Seriously!?” Cry Baby exclaimed, she looked up at the LED covered ceiling before continuing, "Look, I guess I was just-” Cry Baby began only to be interrupted again but this time by Angelita, "Being selfish.” Angelita shook her head at the shorter girl in front of her after she spoke but that just made Cry Baby walk off and slam the drink she had on the table next to us. "Forget it."
"Wait!” Angelita yelled trying to get her attention but I grabbed Angelitas arm and I told her, “No, it’s fine. Just let her go.
We turned to each other to continue talking about our plan until we heard the loudspeaker come on with a loud high pitched ring, causing us to plug our ears.
“Good evening, and welcome to K-12’s 150th school dance.” Leo spoke, breathing down the damn microphone.
“This isn't part of the plan…” I whispered to Angelita as the crowd cheered and applauded.
“Now, before I let you all get back to dancing all night… quite literally… I would just like to say just one thing. Cry Baby, I know what you’ve been up to.” The group looked at each other in shock.
“I’ve been watching you… For a long time now… And did you all think that you could just kill my father, get away with it and have your nice little dance?” We heard him panting into the microphone at his desk in anger.
“Yes…?” I commented, making Fleur quietly laugh at my comment before getting serious again herself.
Leo laughed then finished his statement over the loudspeaker, “I don’t think so seniors… Not tonight.”
Angelita’s date ran over to the large white doors, trying to shake the door handles but they didn’t budge.
“The doors are locked!” The blue boy yelled right before Leo got back onto the loudspeaker.
“So dance… DANCE!” An oddly comforting song played through the speakers, replacing “Tip Toe Thru’ the Tulips with Me” by Tiny Tim. Leo laughed as we were all forced to dance to the song, then he yelled “DANCE!” Yet again.
I was too young to see the truth
In my grandma's lap, I'm drowning in her perfume
Too naive to even care
'Bout the words she whispered while she brushed out my hair
“Whats happening?” Angelita asked me, “I don’t know… What's going on!?” I yelled.
“I mean… I can't stop!” I heard Magnolia say to Fleur, We all looked at the other dancers swaying, spinning and twirling around the ballroom.
"We've gotta do something guys!”I spoke to my friend while I involuntarily danced with Angelita.
“I mean… I love dancing but this is ridiculous!” I grabbed angelitas hand and I continued to dance with her to the beat.
People gonna say
"If you need a break, someone'll take your place"
People gonna try
To tell you that you're fine with dollars in their eyes (just remember)
"We need to find Cry Baby and stop this now!” Magnolia shouted to us over the music, Fleur just seemed like she was silently panicking so she'd obviously be no help.
Don't let them fuck you, honey, no, oh
Don't let them try (ooh)
Don't let them hurt you
Baby, just say, "Recess, I'm tired"
Sittin’ in my room looking at all I’ve done
Everything I wanted has come to fruition
I should be happy, but I can't get out my bed
Stressin’ ‘bout the voices screamin’ inside my head
“My powers won't start! I've lost control!” I panicked as I desperately tried to start my powers
“Yeah, I can't use mine either!” Magnolia commented.
"Where is she…” Angelita cried as her legs and feet started to hurt from all of the dancing. "God, my legs are KILLING me!” Angelita added.
Fleur looked back at us with an understanding expression.
Don't let them fuck you, honey, no, oh
Don't let them try (ooh)
Don't let them hurt you
Baby, just say, "Recess, I'm tired"
Leo watched as we danced with each other, he kicked his feet up on the desk and smiled in twisted satisfaction but his attention was torn away from his many monitors when a woman he's never seen before entered the room.
"Hello Ms?” Leo said with a confused tone of voice as he looked at the beautiful young woman. Instead of responding she strutted over to him at the side of his desk.
"Hey, I'm Laura Leigh. I'm here to apply for the… Assistant position.” She smirked at him as he weighed his options.
He stumbled over his words before he got it together "Yeah… The assistant position.”
Leo turned down the volume of his speaker so he can focus on the woman in front of him.
After a while of making out and hands in places they definitely SHOULDNT be in a principal's office, 'Laura’ spoke to Leo again.
"Y'know, I've always had this fantasy…” Leo glanced up at the woman above him, "And what's that?” The woman continued speaking after the interruption, “Of being intimate in a really confined space.” He smiled at Laura, "Really?” He picked her up bridal style, "Well you are in luck…” He set her down before he opened the door to the walk in closet which was conveniently placed right beside them.
Ï had a dream like this once…” He fidgeted with the collar of his shirt, "Me too.” The woman said before she… Shapeshifted into who she actually was, Cry Baby. She locked him in the closet before turning off the music in the room where her friends were locked up but luckily no longer dancing.
"Hey!” He banged on the door, "Hey! You bitch! Let me out!” Leo eventually gave up and sat on the ground, realizing what just happened.
“Everybody, evacuate the school immediately! Go! Now!” Cry Baby spoke into the loudspeaker which was still on before running into the ballroom and opening the doors so everybody could leave and finally escape from the sleepaway school.
"She's safe!” Angelita sighed in relief before grabbing my hand and running out of the room.
"C'mon Everybody! Let's go!” I yelled as everyone cheered and ran out of the huge honestly beautiful room… But not kelly. Kelly hesitated for a minute, just standing there in the middle of the ballroom decorated in the most beautiful fairy lights.
"Hey, Let's go! C'mon!” Fleur waved Kelly over to the group of young adults who were finally escaping literal hell.
Kelly raised her skirt just above her heels so she could run off with the group of students escaping.
The blue boy was in the front of the pack of students escaping down each staircase of the school, once they finally got out they ran across the distractingly green and lush lawn in front of the school, if they didn't know about the abuse that used to take place in there they would have been tricked into thinking that it was a great place to be!
When we were finally outside of the horrible institution I stopped Angelita, Fleur and Magnolia since I realized that Cry Baby wasn't following us. I looked around the yard shouting the name of the young lady whom I love so much, I couldn't lose her when the school was lit ablaze… If that happened of course.
I ran back into the school so I could find her. The girls tried to stop me but I ignored them and I just ran right back into the place.
I saw that Cry Baby opened the windows to the balcony when I passed the room that she was in so I ran into the room but I didn't go onto the balcony with her. I saw her looking around to see what she could do to escape and destroy this place all at the same time.
"What do I do… Oh my god… What do I do…” I heard her whisper, I stared at her, which kind of seems creepy… you have to know that I obviously didn't mean it in a creepy way! I was just thinking about what to do since I was unsure!
“Okay… Think… Think…" She slapped the stone railing in frustration when she didn’t come up with anything, but of course that hurt so she pulled back with a pout.
I ran onto the balcony with her so I could help her make her decision.
"Hey!” I yelled while I was still panting from the run it took to get to the top story of the massive school.
“Oh shit!” Cry Baby whispered when she flinched from the surprise of me being here.
"You NEED to go downstairs!” Cry Baby pointed towards the door.
“I'm sorry… I didn't mean to startle you.” finally caught my breath and I stopped panting.
“I'm here to help.”
"Look, I appreciate that but I-” I sighed and I cut her off, "Well… I'm the one who wrote the love letter.”
Cry Baby looked up at me in shock before she looked down at everyone running out of the school's doors.
“I knew a girl wrote that…” She whispered to herself with a smile.
“Okay, well… How do we destroy this place?” Cry Baby asked me as she turned around to face me. "Please… I don't know what to do. Do you have any ideas?”
“Uh… I can't think of anything right now… um…” I thought back to the time Angelita accidentally made a bubble and encased the entire tennis ball which made it float away.
"Oh! I've got it! Do you know how to blow spit bubbles?” I asked her, she looked at me with her brows furrowed, "What? Now isn't the time for that!”
"No! I mean… We could put the school in a spit bubble so it'll float away! Y'know… with our powers?” I glanced back at her hoping for a response.
“Okay… Well… Let's try it.” I heard Leo messing with things in the closet, looking for a key so I hurried with the bubble.
“Are you ready?” Cry Baby asked me, “I mean no I haven't really done this before so…” I replied, Cry Baby grabbed the railing since she was panicking a little bit, "Y/n! This is serious! We have to try this okay?” She started getting annoyed with me, “Okay, okay…”
We started blowing the spit bubble, making it not pop with my powers, I looked over at Cry Baby to make sure she was blowing a bubble with the same haste as I was.
This feels oddly intimate, I mean we're blowing a spit bubble to save the students of our school… alone…? I mean… If you get it you get it.
I saw our friends staring at the bubble we were blowing that was the size of half of the school at this point. I know we can do it… I am quickly getting extremely dizzy though. I hope i dont pass out before we are able to finish this mission.
Eventually the bubble picked up the entire school so we stopped blowing it and we made a plan to get out of the floating school now.
"Oh shit… We don't have too much time until we're too high up. We need to jump! Right now!” Cry Baby grabbed my hand but that didn't help my anxiety at all.
"But if we jump we'll die!”
"The fear of death is irrational right now Y/n! Either we die in a couple minutes, or we attempt to live right now, okay?” Cry Baby said before she took off the back part of her dress that drags on the ground and she grabbed my hand again.
"Now!” We both jumped up onto the railing, we hesitated for a minute before jumping off.
A lot of thoughts went through my head as I fell… Was I going to live? Would this be the end of my life? Right when I turned 18? I hope I don't die from this. If I do, at least the other students lived.
When my body hit the ground I closed my eyes tight… But I didn't feel any pain? I don't think anything broke either.
“Oh… Oh god… What the fuck just happened!” I turned towards Cry Baby as I laid back on the grass, facing the sky.
I saw the school bow up with a puff of pink smoke when the bubble popped, Cry Baby smiled widely at me after the large explosion happened, then she leaned over and kissed me on the cheek before running over to our friends, after a couple seconds I followed her.
“Il y a du sang partout…” Angelita spoke with a smile. "What does that mean?” Magnolia asked, “It means ‘There's blood everywhere.’ I don't really know french… It's just something I picked up as a kid. I had a French nanny." She smiled at Magnolia before greeting Cry Baby with a little wave.
We watched as Lilith's door came out of the ground with a loud rumble, the door opened to reveal the angel herself. Lilith stepped out and I looked over at Cry Baby as she yelled, “Oh my god it's Lilith!”
I listened to her cutely giggling before I followed her to the door, I watched Celeste, Fleur and Angelita run into the door but both me and Cry Baby stayed.
“Are you coming?” I asked with a gesture to the door, Cry Baby just looked around before grabbing my hand and leading me into the door… But when we stepped foot into what turned out to be a Portal everything went to black.
A/n do you guys want me to continue this but with them in the portals universe? Let me know!

I did a thing
Thanks to @shelobussy for giving me the idea for this little one shot! You didn't think I was serious, did you? But I was, oh, I was.
Desc: Hugo and Varian run into a problem while helping at VBS (vacation Bible school for those unfamiliar. It's literally summer camp but Christian). Warning for minor cursing, past homophobia.
___________________________________
"And... it's locked." Hugo sighed and slid down the door of the closet. "Who designed this thing? Why would a door auto-lock when you close it?"
"Why wouldn't it?" Varian had already sat down. "If you hadn't dropped the key we would be out of here."
"You're always blaming me for stuff. This isn't even the right closet! This is the damn communion supply closet, and I told you the cleaning supplies were down the hall, but no, Heaven forbid I be right."
"I got turned around! Half the hallways out of the sanctuary look the same anyway." At least they wouldn't starve, though Varian might rather starve than subsist on grape juice and crackers that looked and tasted like Styrofoam. And would it be heretical to eat and drink communion elements outside of the ceremony? Surely God would understand, like that story with David and the sacred bread.
"Uh, earth to Freckles," Hugo's annoying voice cut through Varian's thoughts. "How are we gonna get out of here? The VBS has, like, four chaperones for the middle schoolers including us, we need to get out."
"Can't you pick locks, Beanpole?" Varian had never seen Hugo lockpick, but he looked like the type to know how.
With his long undercut blond hair, piercings, alternative clothing style, and flamboyantly gay demeanor, Hugo wasn't really the sort of person Varian would expect to be a youth group leader, but West Ingvarr Methodist Church prided itself on diversity and inclusion. Varian couldn't help but think, though, that even if it wasn't a sin, Hugo didn't need to make being queer his whole personality. Varian certainly managed not to.
"I can't pick this kind of lock. I don't know the inside mechanisms of the automatic doors. And I'll thank you not to use that tone when asking. I don't why you think you're better than me-"
"I don't think I'm better than you-" Varian began.
Hugo snorted. "Could've fooled me. Anyways, I could maybe figure out how to disassemble the lock, but I don't think Pastor Robin would be very happy with me."
"So we're stuck here," Varian groaned.
"Until someone comes along and sees the key on the ground, yes. Don't look at me like that, Freckles, I'm not pleased about it either. You're stuck in a closet with someone you hate, I'm stuck with someone who hates me."
"I don't hate you. You're annoying as- as heck, and loud, and honestly I don't think you should curse around the kids-"
"They're middle and high schoolers, they've heard the word 'shit' before. Besides, I know what it is. You don't like the way I dress, the way I talk, you don't like when I talk about my homosexuality-" Hugo said the last word like he was an old man deeply offended by it.
Varian rolled his eyes. "That's not it. If it makes you feel better, I'm literally bisexual. I just don't think you need to talk about it as much as you do-"
"Freckles, what would your life be like if you had had an openly queer leader in the church when you were those kid's age? Because I'll tell you right now, mine would have been a hell of a lot better. You can keep your internalized homophobia to yourself, but I'm going to be who I am. And I'm going to be for those kids what I needed." Hugo finished and turned his head away, arms crossed.
Varian couldn't think of a thing to say. He tried not to think about it much, now that he was out of Old Corona, and two years into college, but he remembered growing up in a church very different from West Ingvarr. Forget it being unsafe to be queer, Varian had dyed a streak of his hair blue when he was fourteen and been looked at like he was the devil's child into he finally broke and dyed it black again. Eventually, fifteen-year-old Varian had decided he couldn't take it anymore, and ran away. It'd quickly gone wrong, and he'd fallen in with a very bad crowd before his father found him, and promised they would move away after Varian tearfully confessed the reason for his rebellion.
All that to say, Hugo was right. Varian cringed thinking it. But Varian had been unfair in his judgment of him, and it was the right thing to do to admit that.
"I'm... sorry." Varian finally said. Hugo didn't turn his head, but his eyes flicked over and his eyebrows rose slightly. "I think... I let my biases color how I judged you, and that was... unfair and not very 'Good Christian' of me. I... really don't hate you, Hugo."
Hugo turned his head, and Varian could see him holding back a smile. "Thanks for the self-awareness. I forgive you, I guess."
Varian scoffed. "Thanks, 'I guess'."
"Well," Hugo began, obnoxious grin on his face, before pausing. "I think I hear footsteps! HEY? IS ANYONE THERE?" He yelled, forcing Varian to cover his ears.
"Yes, ominous voice? Wait. Hugo, is that you?"
"Yep!" He replied. "Varian, we're in luck! Okay, Yong, there's a key on the ground. I need you to slide it under the door, alright?"
"I don't see a- oh! There you go!" A second later, the bronze key appeared by the door. Varian and Hugo stood up, and unlocked the door.
"Feels good to be free!" Hugo declared, stretching.
"We were only in there for twenty minutes," Varian commented, grinning.
"Yeah, but twenty minutes stuck with you? Basically twenty years."
"Shut up, Beanpole," Varian pretended to punch Hugo's arm. Maybe he wasn't so bad after all.

I waved down a taxi, and hopped in “Knightsbridge Station, please,” I nodded. The little bit of walking to my flat was easier to remember this way. I’m fully aware it's a bit silly to have my flat in London, but my office in Brackley. The truth is, I spend very little time in Brackley since I’m part of the traveling team. When I went to London though, it was hard to ignore my affection for Chelsea. I couldn’t resist, and it operates much more as a home base when I'm flying into Heathrow. On a race week, that one Sunday night and one Monday morning I can wake up and see a lovely garden just out my window is priceless. Then, by Tuesday, I have people staying in my flat for AirBnB. A cleaner comes in Saturday night, and then Sunday night, I’m back home. On a non-race week, by Tuesday, I’m in Brackley, where I keep the house. I leave Friday night and go back to Chelsea for the weekend. Then I wake up Monday morning, and shit, it’s race week again.
The house is 4 bedrooms and made out of beautiful masonry, but I can’t truly appreciate it. This house means nothing to me.  I have never decorated it, or given it any love beyond the basics to maintain it. What am I supposed to do with 3 extra bedrooms? I’ve turned one into a home office, but I always go in, so what’s the point? The other two just linger. I clean them every Tuesday night of non-raceweeks. I don’t want the dust to build up. When my family comes to the U.K., which they never do, perhaps they’ll use it as a guest room.
As I arrived at my flat, I was much more excited than I should be for such a short stay. I walked in and unlocked my bedroom door. I found my closet which mostly only hosted racewear. I found my team polo and my slacks. I then began thinking about packing a dress for meeting with Jeffrey tonight and just staying longer at the event. I would have to change and do my hair and make up in the hotel bathroom…or take Toto up on his offer that I pretended not to hear. I would rather not pay for the taxi 3 times in one night. I packed my messenger bag with a dress that had thin fabric so as to not be bulky, and put on my high heels, prepared for the little bit of pain I might suffer standing for slightly too long.
My phone began to ring, and I looked and saw it was Toto. I quickly threw my bag onto the bed, and picked up.
“Toto,” I answered.
“Yes, Arabella. Is the speech in my padfolio?” He asked. I could hear the rustling of papers on the other end.
“Should be, didn’t you read it over in the car?” I asked.
“I did, I did. I can’t find it anywhere now though,” He sighed.
“Probably got lost in the shuffle. Let me check to see if I have a backup copy,” I spoke, taking my own padfolio out of my messenger bag. “Ah, there we go. I’m about to head back up to the hotel. Will be back there by 4pm, if that’s alright.”
“4…4…Yes, alright. Thank you, Arabella,” I could hear him beaming through the phone.
“It’s my job,” I answered.
“Ah, well…I’ll speak with you later when you arrive,” and with that he hung up.
I admired my view for a few moments, and quickly scarffed down my favorite lunch, before running down to the road to hail a taxi. I arrived at 4 on the dot, and watched as Toto walked out of the elevator. “Here you are,” I smiled handing it to him.
“We match,” he smiled, pointing to his own polo and back at mine.
“Not to break your heart, but we all do,” I said, vaguely gesturing to the hotel lobby which was coated with Mercedes wear. Except Lewis who always stood out with his bold fashion choices. I was a bit jealous of his bravery, but then again if I were a 7 time WDC champion, I would be quite brave too.
“It was the thought,” He shrugged, glancing over the speech. I took a deep breath, feeling the dress’s fabric in my bag.
“Sorry, but would you mind if I took you up on your offer? I need to change after the event. I wouldn’t head up until 8, but…you know,” I mumbled.
“So, you did hear me earlier?” He laughed.
“Barely…but it wouldn’t have mattered anyway. All my clothing was at home.”
“You know there are extras flying all over this hotel right now,” He smiled.
“Yes, but why borrow when I could just run home?”
“Oh, I don’t know. Money? Taxis? Time? All of the above.”
“Conversation over. I declare it,” I ordered. “So that’s a yes, though.”
“Of course it's a yes,” He smirked.
“Thank you. You have two hours before you give that speech. Don’t read it over too many times, or you might get the words jumbled. I have to go meet with the driver’s assistants to make sure testing is planned out correctly. I’ll meet you in the ballroom at 5:30, but I’ll be down there at 5 if you want to stop in earlier,” I explained, already taking steps back from him. He waved me away kindly, and I went off looking for the reserved meeting room.
Walking through the hallways of the hotel, I eventually stumbled upon the room, and walked in. Already waiting was Angela and Nikola, Lewis and Valtteri’s assistants respectively. “How are we doing?” Angela asked as soon as I walked in. Angela is a strikingly pleasant woman, and just as I micromanage Toto, she micromanages Lewis. That is, however, to a much larger degree on her end. I swear, if Lewis breathes, it’s because Angela told him to. Her graying blonde hair defined her appearance, and also seemed to automatically imply that she kicks ass. His entire team runs right under Angela.
On the other hand, Nikola was much more lackadaisical. I had noticed two things about him. First, that much like me, he came with many preconceptions about his perception. Many people right off the bat assume him to be aggressive and overserious due to his Serbian heritage but instead he overcompensated and could at times be a pushover. The second thing being that he hates Formula 1. Nikola had for a long time been a personal assistant for actresses and actors. In fact, I knew him from my days at United Agents. He much preferred the world of Oscars, BAFTAs, and Emmys over watching 60 laps with a headset on. In fact, he skips 90% of the races, and instead go eats dinner in a new city.
“I’m doing good, Angela,” I smiled, sitting down. I took my padfolio out of my messenger bag and opened it up to my schedule. “Okay, testing.”
“London Heathrow at 8am right,” Nikola began. I nodded, and thus we were off to the races discussing every small thing and ever little detai. A single mistake could mean Lewis missed an important part of his daily routine or that Valtteri missed a training session. Testing established an important precedent. Showcasing that we’re going to dominate the tracks this season is an important first step to actually doing so.
“Time to head off,” I explained, standing up. “See you all soon.”
They all waved a kind goodbye, and I stepped out to the ballroom. I took the elevator up and walked in to see the huge room cleared of tables and chairs. Staff was running around setting up item after item. It was almost magical to watch an entire Formula 1 car be reassembled in a room for display. Each piece perfectly slotted in. Of course, just for an investors meeting we wouldn’t use any of the tech. With the cost cap being implemented this year, unnecessary movements also created unnecessary risks with no money to spare.
“Where’s the race suit?” I asked a passing staff member in Mercedes wear.
“Oh, um…” They began, checking their clipboard as they flipped through their pages. “Coming off the truck now.”
“You sure?” I double checked.
“Yeah, yeah. Oh, look, there it comes,” They pointed towards the ballroom door.
“Ah, perfect. Thank you,” I answered rushing over to the suit on mannequin being carried over by a team of just two people.
“I know we said we’d put that on the stage, but I think it’d be awkward. Can we place it next to the car?” I offered.
“Uh…yeah, but it could get damaged,” One answered.
“More than a red wine stain?” I asked. He shook his head. “Let’s go for it then.”
Following right in behind them was Toto, and he gave me a big smile.
“You think it would look awkward on the stage, right?” I asked.
“Oh, totally,” He answered. “The space looks nice.”
“Yeah, yeah,” I checked my watch. “Least we can do with all the money they give us. Uh…let’s see. Doors open in 15, go ahead and step into the little wings of the stage for me. Don’t care which, we’ll find you either way. I’m going to go over to the kitchen right quick and make sure that everything’s okay.”
He gestured for me to scurry off and I obliged, heading over to the kitchen and peeking my head in. Yes, of course they were ready. I immediately stepped up the stairs that led to the wings of the stage and found Toto standing in the stage left wing. He waved me over and I speed walked over.
“The clicker. Where’s the clicker for the keynote?” He asked.
“Fuck, they didn’t leave one back here?” I answered.
“I suppose not. They thought you had it.”
“Me? Christ, everyone loves to pin it on me,” I took a deep breath. I quickly snapped my fingers in recognition of a good thought. “Let me run up to your room. I always leave an extra in your bag.”
He smiled, and it quickly turned into a look of confusion. “In my bag?”
“Oh, yeah. When I ordered it for you two years ago, you never noticed this secret little panel. I keep extras of everything small enough that has a tendency to go missing. Clickers, RFIDs, batteries…”
“What? Where?” He asked shocked.
“Telling you would defeat the purpose considering you would immediately take them out since you would be sure they would be better somewhere else,” I replied. “Anyway, I’ll be back.” His expression as I turned my back was best described as a hilarious combination of impressed, shocked, and slightly disappointed that I knew him this well. I ran off, heading upstairs to the hotel room.
There I found, of course, the room was incredibly clean. Toto was never the type to leave a place messy, and everything always found it's perfect spot. Of course, his bag was conveniently located in the closet next to his coat, since the two went hand in hand. Right inside the bag, on the left hand side of the interior side pocket was a tiny zipper I had removed the tag off of to prevent him from easily feeling it out and of course, inside was a USB and bluetooth presentation clicker.
I quickly turned around to leave when I suddenly saw something out the corner of my eye on the edge of the TV stand. It doesn’t count as snooping if I gave it to him right? I instantly recognized it even at the distance I was. A pen. It wasn’t just any pen. No, it was the pen I gave Toto after his 5 years at Mercedes. I was surprised he still had it. It was a nice heavy silver, and had a rollerball tip. It had been engraved with his name and had the date of the 5 year anniversary.
“You want a pen? A fucking pen?” I chuckled to myself looking it over. I resisted the urge to look at what he had written down and scurried out of the room moving quickly returned to the ballroom. Toto awaited anxiously as I set it up with the tech staff before returning to Toto with the clicker. He gave me a soft smile, and patiently held it. I headed to the ballroom floor and found my favorite member of the team, Bono.
“You wanna tell me why Toto called me earlier about the hotel?” He asked without greeting me. To be fair, a greeting wasn’t really necessary. Of all the team members, Bono and I were the ones with one of the closest relationships. He became a race engineer the same year I began working at Mercedes. Two years later, when Toto became team principal and I joined his team, Bono was one of the first people to congratulate me. Since then, in the quiet moments, we’re the first to find each other.
“Remember Monaco 2016?” I answered. I watched as he tried to recall. “When the hotel refused to let me into my room because they didn’t believe I worked for Mercedes?”
“Oh God. Oh wait, again?” He stumbled over his words.
“Unbelievable isn’t it?”
“Unbelievable, yeah. If they actually watched anything they’d see you right behind Toto with a headset on.”
“Too busy watching Toto,” I chuckled.
“So did he have another moment?” Bono asked. Back in Monaco 2016, Toto had forced the staff members to walk me to my room, reclean the entire room, and then, even though the room hadn’t been used, made them upgrade my room.
“Yes, but much more quietly, and somehow, more intimidating.”
“Toto can be intimidating?” Bono asked. I raised my eyebrow at him. “Kidding.”
“I was about to say…”
“We best quit our gabbing,” Bono nudged me, and gesturing up to the stage where Toto sat down in a seat across from the UBS representative. As he did, I turned around and saw the room was filled with suits rather than Mercedes paraphernalia.
“Oh shit, I hadn’t even noticed the doors were open,” I sighed. Bono looked around and faked a jump.
“They all look like slenderman out there,” He laughed.
“Slenderman, you know what slenderman is?”
“I know, I’m old. But I know things.”
“Oh, no, we really do need to shut up,” I quickly mumbled as the UBS representative got up and headed to the microphone.
“Wait, why did you have the hotel call me, couldn’t you have just called?” He asked.
“They never would’ve believed me that it was actually you. They couldn’t even notice my name on the booking,” I whispered.
“Oh, right. Fuck. Shut up,” He whispered to himself. I chuckled as they approached the microphone. The UBS representative introduced Toto and Toto stepped to the microphone with the clicker. As he clicked on the first slide, he found my fave in the crowd and gave me a delicate wink. I smiled back.
“Thank you for the invitation. UBS has maintained an excellent working relationship with Mercedes AMG for 8 years,” He began. “Today, we present the investors with a unique opportunity to hear from us directly regarding the more fun part of our relationship: Racing. During the night, you can find engineers mingling about ready to discuss key aspects of the car, and answer your every question about vehicle performance. But before we enjoy the rest of our night, I want to begin by discussing the car and changes coming for the 2021 season. We especially want to discuss our plan to remain well within the new cost cap.”
As Toto detailed out every element of our car that we could discuss without risking leaks, I couldn’t help but fail to listen. It wasn’t boring. I found this enjoyable. Rather, I noticed the way Toto smiled, cracked jokes that weren’t written on the speech notes, and how he didn’t even have to look at the slides to know what they said. I watched how good of a speaker he was, and how he connected so well with everyone. Even while addressing a bunch of investors, he was also addressing the team. I was so focused on Toto, I failed to notice the way Lewis and Valterri had came onto the stage just for a brief conversation about the upcoming season. When I finally did, they were already walking off. I’ve really got to get this out my system.
As Toto finished, and the UBS representative had a conversation with him, I tried to think of other things. The hors d'oeuvres I had helped to plan, the drink I would order from the open bar, and the tartare I would order from Angler. Oh, right, I do have a date. Maybe that would help me get this out of my system.
As soon as the presentation was over, I ran over to the open bar. On an empty stomach, it was sure to help my rising anxiety. “A Vesper, please,” I asked the bartender. I watched as the drink was stirred and handed to me. I could see Toto head over to the car to prepare for questions and interactions from the various investors. He waved me over, and I took a deep breath as I stepped towards him.
“This is my executive assistant, Arabella Lazaar,” He introduced me to the crowd of investors. I put my hand up for a cursory wave, and took a relatively large sip of my drink.
“Yeah, what do you need?” I asked him kindly. He handed me the presentation clicker, gently placing it into my hand.
“I thought you’d want to hide it back in my bag,” He smiled. “What’s that?”
“A Vesper,” I answered, trying to casually sip it rather than down it.
“Oh…” He shivered.
“Yeah, I know. No one likes my drink,” I shrugged, taking another sip.
“Also, this gentleman,” Toto suddenly spoke to the group and gestured to a gray haired man in the middle of the group. “He’s looking for an executive assistant. I don’t know if you know someone.”
“Uh…no one who doesn’t have a job,” I giggled. “But the wonderful people at Souters have plenty recent graduates who need options. You can also mention if you’re looking for specific spoken languages and they’ll let you know what available.”
“Thank you,” He answered. “But I’m looking for someone more experienced.”
“Oh, well-” I began, nearly scoffing as I spoke.
“Thanks, Arabella,” Toto smiled gently placing his arm around my shoulder and turning me around. “Before you say anything, yes, I know. ”
“More experienced? I doubt he’s even high up in the company,” I answered.
“Thats what I meant I know. He’s not, he’s brand new. But you know how people are,” He finally took his arm from around me. I took a deep sigh. “Nevertheless, I had to stop you because right next to him is the president of Asset Managment. If you run into him without her though, you’re welcome to tell him exactly what you’d like to say.”
“Fine, Toto,” I sighed again. He chuckled at my behavior.
“Besides, Bono was looking for you. He’s by the stage,” He said.
“Oh, thanks,” I smiled, heading off. I finished my drink and handed it to a server collecting dishes, and grabbed a tiny little sandwich on the way. Damn, I picked good.
“Oh, look, there’s the disappearing act,” Bono laughed as I stepped towards him.
“Sorry, needed a drink,” I shrugged.
“Well, where is it?”
I gestured to my body in general, and Bono laughed again. He was surrounded by the engineering team. We all had a wonderful conversation and soon enough it was almost 8:00. I said my goodbyes and let Toto know I was leaving. When I re-entered the hotel room, I found the bag and slipped the presentation clicker into the secret pocket. I opened the door to the connecting room, which was directly next to TV stand where the note stared me in the face.
It wasn’t any of my business, but I wanted to look. I could just barely see the writing through the paper with the light against it. I quickly went into the connecting room to prevent myself from satiating my curiosity. I took a brief shower and avoided getting my hair wet, or I dared to face the wrath of curls that refuse to dry. I slipped on my little black dress and looked in the mirror. I wasn’t an especially thin woman. I enjoyed the way dresses like this could hug my delicate curves. I took some oil from my bag and slicked my hair back into a neat ponytail. I then applied my makeup. Just a small amount. If I were in the paddock, it would be no different. Those tight rooms can get very hot, and I refuse to sweat off any of it. I applied my eyelashes and looked in the mirror at myself. Great job, and only 5 minutes early. I took the hotel elevator down to the floor of the restaurant, being sure I had grabbed everything out of the room. As I approached Angler, I could see Jeffrey.
He looked just like his picture. A solid 6 feet tall, bringing me in my heels to 2 inches shorter than him, and short salt and pepper hair that was thinning just a little bit on top. He looked exactly how you would imagine a lawyer would look, with just the slightest bit of stubble coming in.
“Arabella?” He asked as I approached. I could hear he had a thick Manchester accent. “You look gorgeous.”
“Ah, thank you,” I said, gently brushing my dress in the nervous manner women tend to do when complimented by their date.
“Oh, where are you from?” He asked.
“The Netherlands. You’re from Manchester, yes?”
“You must be able to hear it,” He laughed. He had a slightly high pitched laugh that seemed to ring through the room. “Well, let’s get our table.”
He approached the desk, and they guided us to our table, sat shockingly close to the front of the restaurant. We could see out into the hotel, and I watched as various Mercedes staff wandered about. Being closer to Brackley than usual meant that much of the staff who wouldn’t even be expected to attend, could and did.
“So, how are you tonight?” He asked.
“I’m quite good,” I nodded.
“How was the UBS event? Anything interesting?”
“Oh, well, I think it was quite nice. I hope at least. I helped to plan it. So, let me know if anyone complains,” I joked. He laughed and got more comfortable in his seat. We continued to chat about small little things for a moment until we ordered our food. He took the break as an opportunity to ask me about my job.
“So, do tell me, what’s it like working in F1?”
“How you would expect,” I shrugged. “Lots of traveling. Drama. Drive to Survive is quite fun to have around.”
“I don’t really know what I expect, if I’m honest. I know only a little bit about F1. I’m much more of a football guy.”
“Oh, I just assumed since you knew Lewis,” I answered.
“I know enough. Team principals, drivers, a little bit of the drama. Outside of that though,” He shrugged. The plates came to the table as did my glass of wine. I began to snack on the tartare as he spoke. “So as you said, traveling quite a lot. Nice hotels, the high life, all that?”
“We fly private when we’re outside of Europe, but other than that, commercial. There’s really no point. If the drivers want to waste their money on flying private to a place that has cheap flights, they’re welcome to. But the hotels are always great. They’re not included in the cost cap so I doubt that’ll change.”
“The cost cap, now that I’ve heard about. Mercedes feeling the squeeze?” He asked.
“We are cutting our budget into a third of what it used to be. So…yes,” I laughed. “It could be much worse though.”
“So, you must work for Toto Wolff?”
“Huh?” I questioned, nearly spitting out my food. “How’d you know that?”
“Judging solely by the fact he’s walking over here,” Jeffrey shrugged. I whipped my head around and watched as the 6’ 5” man powerwalked over to the table with a look of determination. As soon as he saw my face, it quickly switched to a smile with a wave.
“Oh, fuck,” I groaned, putting my head into my hands.
“Arabella, I thought that was you,” He smiled approaching the table. “Oh, sorry for interrupting. Toto Wolff.”
He stuck his hand out at Jeffrey, and I watched as Jeffrey reached his hand out to shake it.
“Jeffrey Martens,” He answered, shaking his hand.
“What’s up, Toto?” I asked, looking up at him as they released their grip.
“Did you leave anything in your room? I know you talked about going back to your place, but I wanted to make sure if you left anything I grabbed it for the flight tomorrow, but since you’re here, I can just hand it to you.”
“You could’ve just texted,” I groaned.
“I was going to and then I saw you. Is that a yes?”
“No. It's a no. I didn’t leave anything,” I tried to smile at him.
“Alright. Sorry for interrupting again. Is this the same guy you brought to the Christmas party last year?” He asked.
“Nope.” If I didn’t know any better I would think he was purposefully sabotaging my date.
“Apologies. I should probably go now. See you in the morning, Arabella,” He patted my back. “Bye, Jeffrey.”
Jeffrey looked at me with a hefty smirk. “Never thought I’d meet an F1 Team Principal,” He laughed.
“I’m going to kill him for that move. So you might’ve just heard his last words,” I sighed. Jeffrey laughed even harder. I smirked back at him. We continued our conversation, discussing Jeffrey’s line of work, trying to pretend like Toto hadn’t even stopped by. As dinner ended, and he paid the check, he began walking me out of the hotel.
“This was very fun,” Jeffrey smiled.
“It was, yes,” I answered.
“You’re a really interesting woman. An F1 Team Principal’s assistant, a bit of a hard ass, and totally hilarious,” He smiled. A bit? I strive to be the absolute worst. So, that’s offensive.
“Thank you. You’re…interesting too,” I lied. He was certainly at best a curiosity. His life was quite boring. Dad was a lawyer, so he became one too. Now he works at a bank.
“Oh thank you. I hate to end the night here,” He spoke quietly. “Would you like to come to my place?”
“Absolutely.”
Time to get this out my system.

Don’t You Feel Seen?
A/N: Did I have a crush on Ghostface when I first watched Scream as a kid? No. Did I develop one later on in life? Yes. Am I now writing fanfiction about it? Also yes. I didn’t have a specific Ghostface in mind for this story so you can imagine whoever you’d like! This also takes place in the 90′s but the Stab movies never came out so take that as you will. Hope you enjoy!
Summary: You just wanted to close up the shop but the man on the phone has other plans.
Warnings: Mentions of drugs, murder and lot’s of cursing. Have fun!
Tumblr media
Almost everyone asks ‘why me?’
‘Why you?’
He’ll blame it on his fixation, his desire to mimic the slashers he looked up too. It was his obsession, plain and simple. You should be flattered, he thought to himself. You were the only one who’s guts he didn’t want to see on the floor. He still wanted your blood spread across his hands, his chest, his face, he wanted your pretty handprints like artwork on his skin.
“Thanks for calling Smoke Kings, what can I help you with today?” Your voice held a raspiness to it, hours of talking with first time guests who just wanted the cheapest way to get high. The three cigarettes you had throughout your shift didn’t help either, neither did the full bowl you had shared with Mr Denver but whatever gets you through the day. You were exhausted and ready to go home but had the pleasure of closing by yourself tonight. Even though your boss was well aware of the string of murders that had been happening around town lately. Apparently the police aren’t even close to finding the killer, but when have they ever been able to do their job right?
Mr Denver’s head shop was one of the most colorful places on the block. Full of his memories and loves from the 70’s. It was a laid back job and had been your go to store before you started working there. You had been in the process of wiping down the cases when the store's phone rang, cutting through the music of the shop.
Ring. Ring.
“Hello…” you prompted again, there were deep breaths on the other end so you knew someone was there. Probably someone’s stupid idea of a Halloween prank, you thought.
“Hi.” A voice finally responded, it was deep, almost fake and broken through the static.
You picked up the rag again, still holding the phone to your ear.“Hi, what can I help you with?”
There was a breathy laugh on the other end, “I’m honestly not sure now.” The voice was pleasant and seemed genuinely confused.
“I think you might have the wrong number buddy.” You really didn’t want to deal with anyone so close to closing time. It was bad enough that you still had an entire store to clean but needy customers on top of that made you want to pull your hair out.
“I think I just might, sorry about that.” At least he’s apologetic about wasting my time, you thought.
A fake laugh at the incident followed, hoping to get him off the phone as quickly as possible. “It’s no problem, you have a good one man.” You gently put the phone back on the receiver and started to walk towards the closet that held the mop and broom. Before two steps were even taken the phone went off again.
Ring. Ring.
Please don’t let it be this guy again.“Hello?”
“Dammit, did I call the same number again?” Of course it was the same person, why wouldn’t it be? Not many people even call the store, preferring to just walk in to see what was in stock. You tried to hold back the irritated sigh that wanted to leave your mouth. Regardless if this guy's voice was nice and the night was slow you still had shit to do.
“Yeah you did, it’s all good though, do you know who you’re trying to call? I might have the number in the phone book here.” Mr Denver kept a book by the register, all of his ‘special’ numbers were kept in his office. You don’t even know why you offered to look up somebody for this person, maybe it was desperation to get back to closing. Or maybe it was just boredom.
“No I don't, sadly.”
“So…what, are you just calling random people tonight?” You asked while turning off the lights that illuminated the pipe cases.
“Not anyone random…you.”
Jesus, does this guy not have a life? “Well I’m very flattered but I have to get back to my job alright, have a good night…”
“Wait, what’s your name?” The voice asked before the phone could be lowered away from your ear.
“None of your business, now I have to help out a customer please don’t call back again.” The phone was slammed back onto the receiver. You were still the only one in the store right now after your lie and the track on the record player echoed in the store.
Ring. Ring.
“Why don’t you want to talk to me?” He sounded shamelessly hurt, his voice still had a teasing tone but it was more confident now. Maybe he realized that you had no other option but to answer the phone in the store. You were getting frustrated and your voice expressed it clearly.
“Look man, any other night if I was high enough I would indulge this shit but I’m just trying to get through my shift right now.” Why do people feel the need to bother others who are just trying to work?
“Are you really that busy right now?” His question made it seem like he knew you were lying about having to help out a customer. Knowing that he was just going to keep calling you figured you might as well just indulge him and hope that you can still close up on time.
“Alright, you have my attention, what do you want to talk about?” You placed the phone between your shoulder and your ear so that you could keep cleaning while talking to the man on the other end.
“Why are you working in a head shop, you sound like a sweet girl?” His question would be extremely condescending if he didn’t sound so genuine.
You dragged the broom across the floor, not really caring if some got left behind. You had to open the next morning anyway so it would be easy to clean. “Easy, I’m not a ‘sweet girl’, as you put it. Also the discounts on cigarettes and products makeup for all the other bullshit. Why are you calling random girls in the middle of the night? You sound like a ‘sweet boy’.”
He laughed and you won’t lie that it was probably one the nicest laughs you had heard. “Blame it on my loneliness, is your store getting ready for Halloween?”
You looked at the little ghosts on the window and plastic skulls littered on the counters. “I mean kinda, Mr Denver doesn’t really go overboard with it, mostly just does it to try and get some new faces in the door especially the day of.” There was nothing drunk teens loved more than cigarettes.
“Do you not like Halloween?”
The broom hit the dustpan a couple of times as you sweeped the dirt onto it. “Oh no I love Halloween. I mean I’m too old to go trick or treating but I like pumpkins and scary movies as much as the next person.”
“Really…what’s your favorite scary movie?” The question was asked in a more menacing tone, like his intention was to frighten you. Honestly if he was going for creepy, mission accomplished.
You had to think on that question for a moment, there were just so many. “Well that’s a tough one. Probably a tie between The Lost Boys, even though it’s not that scary and The Evil Dead, even though it’s really campy.”
“Good choices, so vampires and demons are what get you going? Not a big fan of the slashers huh?” Well no need to ask what some of his favorite movies are.
The mop and broom were put back in the closet, you didn’t have the energy to fill up the bucket so you would just do it in the morning as well. “Oh don’t get me wrong, Freddy and Micheal hold a special place in my heart but I just can’t watch those all the time.”
“Why not?” It was weird how interested he was about your opinions.
You started to lock up the cases that held a few of the more expensive glass pieces. If someone really wanted to break in and get them it would still be easy to do. “I mean real life is scary enough as it is so I’d rather have something farther from reality most nights.”
“You don’t like being scared sweetheart?” There was that teasing tone again, you liked the pet name though, even though you didn’t know who it was coming from.
The question made you scoff, it really is true that all the weirdos come out near Halloween. “Does anybody like being scared? I don’t mind as long as it’s from a movie, at least then I know it’s not real.”
“You know you never did tell me your name.” And you were never going to give it to him either, momma warned you about stranger danger after all.
You looked at the clock seeing that it was eight on the dot which meant you could finally lock up the store. “Yeah I know, why do you wanna know it so badly?”
“Because I wanna know who I’m looking at.” The statement made you pause, knowing what you heard but not sure if you should believe it.
“What?”
“I said I wanna know who I'm talking to.” Nope, nope fuck this shit, you thought as you hit the end call button on the phone before quickly flipping the lock on the door and backing away from the glass. You tried to look out into the darkness but it was practically impossible to see anything outside with the lights reflecting back.
Ring. Ring.
The sound made you jump and you quickly rejected the call but it immediately started again.
Ring. Ring.
You decided to answer the call this time, if nothing else to tell this asshole to leave you alone.
“Why did you hang up on me?” The voice was angrier this time, deeper than before.
“Look dude if this is some stupid Halloween prank, leave me out of it alright I’ve got shit to do.” The frustration and fear made you want to throw the phone away.
“You’re a good employee, locking up the store like that. Too bad Mr Denver left the backdoor open. You should really find a boss that cares more about your safety.” The icy realization of this not being a prank finally hit you. Your brain went a mile a minute as you looked around the store, specifically towards the back that led to the hallway. There’s nobody there, but there could be, you thought.
“Jesus fucking Christ,” I’m too high for this shit, you thought. “Listen you can have whatever you want in the store just leave me alone.”
He laughed at your panic, “aww that’s sweet of you but what if I wanted you bent over that counter with my knife at your throat? You still gonna give that to me…” his question ended with a hiss of your name, causing your skin to prickle.
“How the fuck do you know my name?” You looked towards the bathroom making your decision but you didn’t want to tip him off about your plan. Slowly you acted like you were walking closer to back, something only an idiot would do.
“I know a lot of things, like how pretty you look when you get yourself off at night. How you keep a bottle of that shitty perfume in your bag to cover up the cigarettes and weed. What I really want to know is how gorgeous those eyes are gonna be when they’re reflected on my knife.” As soon as he said those words you bolted into the single bathroom, turning on the light and locking the door. You could feel your heartbeat against your chest, pounding in your ears as the blood rushed from your face. “You really have been watching your scary movies, hiding in the bathroom, it just might actually work in your favor.”
You could feel tears sliding down your cheek, onto your neck and chest. “Fuck you!”
“Only if you ask nicely.”
The line was silent as you tried to catch your breath. I don’t wanna die here, your mind chanted over and over again. “What do you want, asshole? Or better yet why me, I haven’t done anything!” You thought that there was no way you could know this guy, you didn’t have many friends to start with. Could it have been a past customer, some stupid idiots from school? Could it be the town killer?
“You don’t have to do anything for me to like you, I just wanted to talk.” The lights overhead flickered, almost in response to his words.
Part of you wanted to hang up, call the police, but then what would happen? Would you be safe in this bathroom if you did, could he easily break down this door? “Yeah? Cause it sounds like you wanna kill me so just get it over with fucker! I’m not playing this fucking game with you.” The whole ordeal made you want to break down on the floor, it wasn’t fair.
“What’s wrong, you don’t like my games?”
“Not really no.” Fuck this town, fuck this job, fuck my life.
“This is what you wanted isn’t it? ‘I just want someone who wants me, wholly, completely, I don’t want to have to guess if they like me. Someone who just goes for it, who makes me feel seen.’ Don’t you feel seen?” You heard him mockingly recite the words from your journal verbatim. He had been in your house, he knew where you livedIf you had known a serial killer would read your journal you never would have even kept one but nobody plans for that shit.
“Fuck you that’s not what I meant!”
“You should really be more specific with your thoughts then.” The line went dead, he had been the one to hang up this time. You could still hear the music coming from outside but it was punctuated now with footsteps. Then a sound like nails on a chalkboard, a knife on glass. There was a shadow at the bottom of the door and then the voice, right next to your ear, like he knew exactly where you were sitting against the wood. “Open up now…I’ll show you how much I want you.”

Domestic December Day 7
Little bit behind schedule, but here we go.
Prompt: Helping them pick an outfit. Terzo helps Quinn pick an outfit for a date with someone he doesn't approve of. He doesn't think the date is really a date either.
AO3 Link with all the days
SFW, no smut, etc.
Ages → Quinn – early/mid 20s, Terzo – late 20s
The bed squeaked a little as Quinn flopped on it in annoyance. “I have nothing to wear! How do I have nothing to wear, Terzo?!” “You have plenty to wear, tesoro,” he cooed soothingly, walking to her small closet. “Or maybe not.” He hummed thoughtfully as he looked through her closet’s offerings, or at least what was actually hung up and not piled at the bottom on the floor. “Why is your closet so small?” he asked distastefully. “I’m not you, I can’t just demand they renovate to give me a walk in closet. Most of my clothes fit in the dresser because I don’t feel like hanging up jeans.” Terzo sighed. “Remind me to take you clothes shopping.” “I don’t need to go clothes shopping!” “Sì, you do. How will you ever find a man with this? How will I ever become zio (uncle) to your bambinos, if you stay single, eh?” “I never said I planned on having kids! I have this for a reason,” She gestured to the enchanted bracelet on her wrist. He waved a hand dismissively at her, pawing through her closet again before moving to her dresser. “Are you wearing clean underwear?” “What the fuck kind of question is that?” “Yes or no, tesoro, I need to know what items you need.” “Oh my… Yes, I am,” she rolled her eyes. “Bene (good). These…” He tossed a pair of denim cut offs on the bed. “And this.” A crop top. “And… You only own flannel button down shirts. Hm. To my room! Bring the items! Let’s go!”
Quinn protested as Terzo dragged her through the halls of The Ministry, clutching her clothing to her chest. “What are you doing?” “I’m going to loan you one of my dress shirts.” “Terzo, they won’t fit me, I have breasts, remember?” “Yes, I know. It doesn’t need to fit properly,” he smirked. She stumbled as he shoved her through the door into his clergy suite, locking the door behind them. “Terzo–” “Shh. Go put those on while I get the dress shirt.” Sighing, she locked herself in the bathroom, only humouring him to try and prove how ridiculous his choices were. “I really should wear tights under these shorts.” “No, you shouldn’t,” he chuckled. “You want to show off your… assets.” Quinn made a disgusted noise, rolling her eyes. Emerging from the bathroom moments later, she found him waiting with a white shirt. He held it up and assisted her into it before spinning her around and pulling the ends up, tying them under her bust. He stepped back to inspect her, then nodded firmly. “There.” She looked at herself. “I look like Daisy Duke from Dukes of Hazzard.” “Exactly. Less sophisticated though,” he teased, gesturing at her hair and combat boots. Quinn frowned at him, unimpressed. “He won’t be able to resist you. Not that he deserves you.” It was Terzo’s turn to frown.
She raised a brow at him. “I am only pointing out he did not ask you on a proper date, he asked you to a very casual event at The Ministry you’d be attending anyways.” “That happens all the time.” “Well it shouldn’t, not for a grigliata (Italian bbq/cookout). It’s basically just The Ministry serving supper outside, the equivalent of saying you’ll sit together during lunch.” He clucked his tongue disapprovingly. “You don’t like him, do you?” She smirked at him. “He’s a fine member of The Ministry. Does he deserve you? Mai. (Never.)” He kissed her forehead. “Tu sei una stella splendente e lui non è degno di leccarti gli stivali.” He didn’t bother to translate for her. (“You are a shining star and he is unfit to lick your boots.”) “So why this outfit?” “Because it’s cute on you. Not too far off things you’ve worn before. You shouldn’t be a different person to win him over – or any man. If they can’t love you for you, they don’t deserve you.” “Listen to your own advice sometimes, yeah?” He laughed a little. “One day, maybe. I have to meet more expectations than you.” “Only if you choose to, Terzo.” He made a noise, shrugging it off. She watched him for a moment, opting to lighten the mood. “So, you’re sure this makes me cute, huh?” “Were we dating – I would never take you to the grigliata (bbq/cookout) as a date, by the way – but if you wore this for the appropriate date with me, it would make me happy. Even with sloppy hair and combat boots.” Quinn rolled her eyes. “Thanks for the help.”

My Mate - Chapter 1 - Part 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*Warning Adult Content*
Torin Frey has a crush.
With his eighteenth birthday right around the corner, he'll soon be able to identify his Mate.
Hopefully it's the male he's always had his eyes on.
Thick wavy brown hair that you just want to run your fingers through and eyes that reminded you of warm caramel, seemingly innocent but calculating.
Narrow shoulders and a toned chest that stretched his shirts so his slight muscles were defined under the thin material.
I sighed dreamily and rested my head on my fist, my elbow hitting the bowl of flour and effectively knocking it to the floor.
Everyone shouted out as it tipped over the counter and I hurriedly went down with it.
I wasn't sure why exactly, there was no way I could have caught it.
When the white cloud disappeared, I was left on the floor covered in and surrounded by a mess of flour.
"Torin Frey," I cringed at the head cooks voice that cut through the surprised silence.
My ears burned with embarrassment and I distracted myself by trying to sweep the flour into a pile with my hands.
"Get up and go get a broom. None of us have time for this, after cleaning go to the basement and help with laundry."
I looked up at the head Cook who just so happened to be my mom.
"Yes ma'am," I squeaked, pushing myself up off the ground.
Risking a glance around the room, I was relieved to discover that the Alpha's son was no longer in the kitchen.
The eyes judging me were only those of other Omegas.
Rushing off to the utility closet, I ducked my head so I couldn't meet anyone's eyes.
I should be use to the embarrassment that comes with accidents by now.
In grade school, while the other students were getting awards for fastest reader or best writer, I was getting the award for being the clumsiest.
I guess it was true, things just seemed to always fall around me.
Myself included.
Returning with the broom, I made short work of cleaning up the mess of flour.
When I moved towards the counter, the others moved their ingredients as if expecting me to make a bigger mess.
I kept my elbows close to my body and tried not to move too fast.
Sweeping everything in the dustpan, I picked it up and headed towards the trash can.
I didn't notice the foot a female Omega held out and when I fell again, laughter erupted.
Coughing and waving away the flour cloud, I pushed myself up and looked at the female.
The brown haired blue eyed female was one of those Omegas that no one really knew why they were an Omega.
She wasn't as submissive or put off by violence, if anything she was just petite like the rest of us.
Kelly Webb, everyone knows her.
In school a lot of others go as far as calling her the prettiest female in the pack.
I didn't like her for two reasons.
One, being that she's a spoiled brat who bullies anyone she deems bellow her and two, she's had her eyes on my Jasper Killian since eighth grade.
"Torin."
I looked up at where my mom was failing to hold back her own laughter and my face burned with shame.
I quickly got up and ran from the kitchen, knocking against someone but too embarrassed to stop and apologize.
It's not like I could of hurt them or anyone, I'm the runt.
Clearly the joke too.
I didn't go to the basement like my mom told me to but instead left the pack house and headed home.
It wasn't a far walk, usually I'd ride with mom to work but most days I find myself walking home.
Home is down a dead end back road called Berry Street.
The name coming from the raspberry and blackberry bushes almost everyone had in their yards.
During the summer they'd be filled with berries and I could snack on them on my walk.
The bushes were bare now with winter coming.
When I made it to the house I've grown up in, I noticed dad's cruiser was in the driveway meaning he was home on his lunch break.
My shoulders slumped again and I sighed.
Walking up the gravel drive to the white two story house, I started dragging my feet which resulted in me stumbling forward and falling onto my hands and knees.
I sat back on my heels and looked down at my bloody palms that were burning.
The scratches weren't deep and they'll heal until only the blood was left.
"You're home early," Dad said from where he lounged in his recliner with a half eaten sandwich and root beer.
Mom doesn't let him have the real thing because she hates beer guts.
"Yeah," I said slowly, letting the word drag.
Dad looked away from the home repair show on the tv to look at my sad state.
Still covered in flour and now blood on my hands and knees.
Dad shook his head and grumbled under his breath.
Probably still wondering how a strong male like him sired a runt.
Going upstairs, I stopped by the bathroom to clean the blood off my hands before going to the door at the end of the hall.
It led to more stairs to the attic and I shut the door behind me.
The attic used to be storage for unused furniture and holiday decorations but when I was fourteen I talked my parents into letting me clean it up and make it my bedroom.
There wasn't much up here, my bed, desk, dresser and my bookshelf.
It's where I spent most of my time if someone doesn't drag me down or I go looking for food.
Taking off my clothes, I jumped onto my bed and spread out.
School was out for thanksgiving break and I was doing everything I did on a normal day, besides sitting in classes for eight hours.
Cuddling up to my pillows, I let my eyes drift shut and thought about the one thing that seems to always be on my mind.
Meeting my Mate.
In only a few weeks I'll be turning eighteen and I'll be able to identify my Mate.
Hopefully it'll be the one male I've always had a crush on.

*i know this isn't normally how rafe acts, but sometimes we can imagine things and enjoy fluff sometimes! :)
“rafe? rafe!” you shouted as you lounged in the pool, but he just looked at you and walked inside. you huffed and quickly got out of the pool. you wrapped your towel around your body, sliding on your flip flops and running up to rafe’s room.
the door was closed and you knocked softly. “go away” rafe mumbled and you sighed.
“can’t get rid of me that easy, sugar” you smile as you enter the room, but the smile soon dropped when you saw him sitting on the edge of his bed, knuckles and mouth bloody. “rafe!” you sprinted over to him and sat next to him, lightly holding his chin and turning his head to face you.
“i told you to go away” he whispered and you shook your head, tears softly pooling your eyes. “i didn’t want you to see me like this”
“rafe, what the hell happened?!” you took your towel off and tried to wipe away the blood, but it was dry. “was this a while ago? what happened?!”
“those stupid pogues, yn! there was 3 of them and one of me!" he exclaimed and you watched as he got up, placing his hand on his hip and he took a breath. i sat in my car for a while because i didn't want to come home and have you see me like this"
"rafe.." your voice was soft, heading over to him and replacing his hands on his hips, ear to his chest as you listened to his quickened heart beat. "was it john b and them?" rafe shook his head, and you sighed. "but you didn't see who it was?"
"i did see who it was, yn, i just said they were pogues" rafe's voice had a hint of attitude and you chose to ignore it. you pull away and look up at him, studying the cuts on his face.
"head to the bathroom for me, okay? i'll meet you in there after i change" rafe just looked at you, holding your hand. "what?"
"i don't.. i don't want to be alone, yn" rafe whispered and you nodded, hugging him. rafe let out a soft cry and rested his cheek on top of your head, holding onto you tightly.
"i'm not going anywhere, rafe. i promise. i'll meet you in the bathroom to clean you up, i just have to change before i get hypothermia" you joke and rafe chuckles, sniffling.
"okay" he whispered and kissed your forehead, wiping his nose and heading into his bathroom. you took a deep breath and dug in his closet, finding an old pair of his shorts, tying them so they fit. you took off your bathing suit and draped it over the back of his chair, sliding on one of his shirts.
you put out a t-shirt and sweatpants on his bed for him to change in after you cleaned him up. rafe sat on the edge of his bathtub with his jacket off, a giant bruise on his arm. "oh my boy.." you whisper, running your hand over his hand and kissing the top of it. "do you want to take a shower or a bath?"
"i.. uh.." rafe was shaking, and you hated seeing him like this. normally he was confident, cool as a cucumber. but he was shaking, vulnerable, and it broke your heart. "a.. shower. can you use that nice smelling shampoo?" you smile and nod, running the water and he checks it, nodding. you put the shampoo out and hold the hem of his shirt, rafe placing his hand on top of yours.
you pulled the polo off and held a gasp as you saw his cuts, bruises, and new scars. you felt sick to your stomach. your fingers shook as they hover over the cuts, tears in your eyes. "my god.. rafe.. you should have called me, baby"
"i was embarrassed" rafe was always honest with you. never once did he lie to you, he vowed never to. "can i get in now?"
"of course" rafe stood up and took off his pants, underwear, socks and shoes. even if you two had been dating for 2 years, you still looked away until he submerged himself under the water.
"you're safe now, ray" you whisper, holding his cheek and rubbing your thumb over his cheek.
"can you get in with me?" rafe's eyes finally met yours and you nodded, smiling at him. you took off the shirt and shorts, stepping into the steaming shower. you squirted some of the shampoo in your hand and massage it into his scalp. rafe closed his eyes and sighed at your soft touch.
rafe wasn't used to this. he wasn't used to soft touches, he wasn't used to soft words. rafe was a different person around you, he was kind. he was smiley, he was happy.
rafe rinsed the shampoo out of his hair and looked down at you as you softly touched his cuts, cleaning them and cleaning off the dirt. you stopped when he hissed, and continued when he nodded.
the shower relaxed your boyfriend and you two got out. rafe wrapped the towel around his waist and you wrapped it around your body, rafe sitting on the cover of the toilet. you cleaned his knuckles and wrapped them, bandaging the cuts that were deep and kissing his cheeks.
"yn.." you hum and he takes your hand, kissing your palm. "thank you.. for.. everything you do for me" rafe's voice was quiet and every time he was quiet you had to make sure it was actually him.
"anything for you, rafe. i love you" you smile and hold his chin, kissing him softly. you left the bathroom and dried yourself, putting on the clothes again. rafe dried himself off and changed into the clothes you gave him, laying on his bed.
you opened his balcony doors and stepped out, staring out at the moon and stars. rafe looked over at you and rolled onto his side, resting his head on his bicep. you looked at him over your shoulder and waved him over.
rafe stood up and headed over to you, his arm over your shoulders. rafe was behind you with your hands holding onto his arm. you kissed his bicep and rested your head back against his chest, looking out at the water.
"i wish everything was this calm forever" you mumble against his skin, rafe rocking back and forth softly. "i wish we could run away, rafe"
"soon, i promise. anywhere you want to go" he whispered in your hair and you nod. rafe closed his eyes and laid his chin on top of your head. "i love you"
"i love you too, rafe" you two stood there for a few minutes, soaking it all in, the calm before the storm. "let's go lay down, baby. you've had a long day" you took his hand and pulled him into his room. you and rafe snuck under his blankets, rafe holding you tightly as you traced down his nose. "if you're ever in trouble again, rafe cameron, you c-"
"call you. i got it now" he whispered, kissing you softly. you pulled back and looked at him, hand on his chest. "i promise" you nod and kiss him again, hugging him.
"and.. don't go looking to get your revenge on them. i know it was hard but.. i don't want to clean you up like this again, ray. i hate seeing you hurt"
"i won't, i promise you, sweetheart" he rubbed his nose against yours, thumb against your jaw. he kissed you again, pulling you tightly to him. "i promise" he whispered, closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep as you drew patterns into his back.
rafe wanted to cry when he felt your soft touches, the feeling foreign to him. you vowed to him to always be kind to him, and that vow you kept, even when he did something stupid and made you angry, you still scolded him in a nice way. and rafe listened more to you than to anyone when he wasn't screamed at.
rafe felt loved, safe, vulnerable around you. he never felt like that before with anyone. rafe made you feel protected, heard, beautiful. you two needed each other, and neither of you were letting go any time soon.

high-rise || k.sy x reader

additional warnings: mutual masturbation, oral (f receiving), unprotected sex, spanking, choking, degradation, sir kink if you squint
Your scarf was the first thing to hit the floor, followed shortly by your blazer. You toed off your heels as you simultaneously fumbled with the zipper on the back of your skirt, cursing when the fabric snagged the metal teeth. You were sweating with effort by the time you started rolling off your tights, making the task at hand that much more difficult. You kept your button-down on and kicked the rest of the clothes to the side, making a mental note to add them to the laundry later.
One of the (admittedly many) perks of living in a New York City penthouse was the view. Your apartment was ninety percent windows, which were a bitch to clean, but the sights you were privy to made it all worth it.
Manhattan was beautiful at any time of day, but you especially enjoyed it in the evenings. By the time you got home from work the late afternoon sun had begun to set, and you got to watch the soft pinks and oranges of the sunset fade into dusk. Rainy days and snowy days were up there on the list too. You were so high up that your apartment sometimes found itself submerged in the middle of a cloud. You could watch the rain fall onto the city below, or try to make out the horizon through the fog.
Even though your apartment was practically a glass box, being so high up offered you the luxury of privacy, which was why you usually didn’t bother with clothes. The only reason you were still wearing your shirt now was to shake off the chill from outside, but it would soon join the pile by the door.
You turned on the gas fireplace in the living room before making your way to the kitchen to pour yourself a glass of the white wine you had opened earlier that week. It was a gift from a client, and not something you would have picked for yourself, but alcohol was alcohol and you wouldn’t dream of letting it go to waste.
You knew you should probably eat something before diving back into the paperwork you had brought home with you, but you were itching to get to it. You would never admit it, but your relationship with your job wasn’t the healthiest. All of your friends knew you were married to your work. Your colleagues and bosses knew it too. And deep down so did you. Maybe that’s why you hadn’t been on a date in... a while. It’s what you told yourself.
Even as you were perusing the options of takeout containers full of leftovers in your fridge you couldn’t stop thinking about the files waiting for you in your briefcase. You had to go over resumès and applications for an open position in your company to familiarize yourself with the candidates before you interviewed them in-person tomorrow.
Your fridge beeped at you, letting you know its door was still open as if you had walked away and forgotten to close it, unaware that you were still standing right in front of it.
“I know, I know,” you sighed and grabbed the styrofoam box of half-eaten sarme from your favorite Albanian restaurant down the street.
As the food warmed in the microwave, you gave in to the urge and retrieved your briefcase from by the door, discarding your shirt with your other clothes while you were over there.
You were just in your panties now, a thong if you were being specific. As much as you hated wearing them, they were the only underwear that wouldn’t show through your skirts and slacks.
You settled on the floor in front of the coffee table with your glass of wine and folder full of documents. The fire burned steadily as you flipped through them and made notes in the margins. Your cabbage rolls were lukewarm around the edges and cold in the middle, but still good nonetheless and you finished the rest. You had been hungrier than you thought.
“Mark Wescott... graduated from Georgetown University in 2013, nice! With a degree in... business admin... real fucking original,” you muttered to yourself, “but he’s got good references and decent experience... so... maybe?”
You uncapped the yellow highlighter in your hand with your teeth and ran it over his name and info at the top. You had a color-coded system for applicants. Pink for top priority, yellow for mid, and orange for low.
“None of these are impressive,” you decided after combing through all of the applications. You shook your head at the stack of papers and pushed them to the side. “Maybe they’ll be better in-person.”
You knew that wasn’t true, but it was getting late and you knew you should get at least a little bit of sleep before tomorrow. You had a lot riding on this hire, so you knew you needed to be coherent enough to sit through eight hours of interviews.
You brought your glass of wine to your lips and downed the last of it. “Here’s to hoping we’ll find the one.”
-
Soonyoung ran a hand through his hair and blew out a sigh. He was already overwhelmed just looking at the stacks of cardboard boxes in front of him, he couldn’t even think about unpacking them yet.
He needed to find the box with all of his suits, at the very least. He couldn’t roll up to his interview tomorrow in the gray sweats and t-shirt he was wearing now, not if he actually wanted the job.
Moving into his new place the day before an interview had been a good idea in theory. But as he grabbed the box cutter from the counter and started slicing open random boxes with no sense of direction Soonyoung was beginning to rethink his decision.
“Why didn’t I label any of these?” he muttered to himself, cursing at yet another box full of DVDs.
It didn’t help that everything was wrapped in newspaper and impossible to identify at first glance. He knew it helped protect things from breaking and shifting around during travel, but it was already making the task at hand twice as long. He had planned to route the walk from the subway station to the office that evening. He wanted to practice the commute and time it so that he wouldn’t be late in the morning, but as the sunlight began to dwindle from the room he knew he wouldn’t have time. He would just have to get up extra early tomorrow.
At least the new apartment was nice. His last job back in Seoul had set him up nicely to be able to afford a place in the heart of Manhattan. It was on the small side compared to what he was used to, but he didn’t need much space since it was just him living there.
Everything was up to date and all of the appliances were brand new. There was an in-unit washer and dryer tucked away in one of the closets, and the dining area had real exposed brick walls. Soonyoung didn’t know what those things meant, but his realtor had told him they were good.
The sun had set completely by the time Soonyoung finally found his suits. He’d had to plug in one of his table lamps and set it on the floor in the middle of searching just to be able to see what he was looking at.
He hung a few options up in his new closet, hoping some of the wrinkles would ease from the fabric overnight.
With that done, Soonyoung figured he might as well unpack some of the boxes he’d already opened. It wasn’t efficient work, seeing as he had neglected to label anything, but Soonyoung managed to put away some dishes, shoes, and miscellaneous sheets and towels before he finally checked the clock again and realized how late it was.
Most of the windows in the surrounding buildings had already gone dark for the night, except for those of the apartment directly across from his. It was in the only other high-rise that was as tall as his, making the illuminated unit at the top stick out even more.
It was then that Soonyoung realized he could see directly into the apartment. He smiled to himself, taking comfort in the fact that he wasn’t alone in being up at such a late hour. He wondered who his night-owl of a neighbor might be. His question was answered moments later when a shadow of movement caught his attention.
A woman who looked to be about his age emerged from a hallway carrying a stack of papers. He couldn’t make out the details of her face from where he was, but as she stepped into the light he could tell that she was naked.
Soonyoung immediately averted his gaze, snapping his head in the opposite direction so fast that he heard his neck crack. He gave it a second or two before looking back, assuming she was gone annnd nope. He squeezed his eyes shut a second time and turned his entire body away from the window. Now she was just... sitting in her living room? Completely naked? He wasn’t one to judge, but the knowledge alone was enough to make being a gentleman harder... amongst other things.
“Focus,” he told himself, resisting the urge to glance at the window. “Don’t be a creep.”
He attempted to resume his unpacking, only to find himself distracted every few minutes, sneaking glances at the window unconsciously. Every time he caught himself looking he was doused in a fresh wave of guilt. He knew it was wrong, but for whatever reason he couldn’t stop himself. The irony of being a peeping tom was not lost on him.
Soonyoung watched as the girl in the window stood from her spot on the floor and stretched, watched as her muscles tensed and relaxed when she raised her arms above her head. A mix of shame and arousal burned in his stomach as his eyes traced the outline of her curves.
All of the sudden it occurred to him that she could also probably see into his apartment. If she were to look over right now she’d see him standing like an idiot in the window practically gawking at her from fifty feet away. He panicked and lunged to turn off the lamp that was still sitting on the floor so that the whole room went dark.
That night as he lay in bed trying to fall asleep, Soonyoung thought about the stranger across the way. He wondered if there was a reason for her state of undress. If she had been waiting for someone, or if that someone had just left. Was that why she was up as late as he was? At least she was getting some. He wished he could say the same for himself.
“This is starting to get sad,” he mumbled and buried his face in his hands. ‘Starting to’ was being generous and he knew it.
He wished the morning would come, wished he was on his way to his job interview already, but every time he checked the time only a few minutes had gone by. He knew he wasn’t going to get much sleep anyway, at least if it was morning he’d be able to do something productive and get his mind off the girl in the window.
Soonyoung rolled over away from his bedroom window and pulled the blankets tighter around his shoulders. He could hear ambulance sirens and car horns from the street down below, the ambience of the traffic lulling the city to sleep.
-
Your morning started like any other. Your alarm went off at six-thirty and you snoozed it until seven, groaning when you finally dragged yourself out of bed. You turned on the shower and brewed a pot of coffee while you waited for the water to heat up.
You had been trying to get into tea recently, slowly working on cutting coffee out of your life completely and making the switch to the much healthier alternative. Tea had less caffeine and offered a whole range of health benefits that coffee didn’t. You’d read endless articles about how much better it was for you, but it wasn’t as coffee
The switch would be going a lot better if you didn’t let yourself make excuses to keep drinking coffee every morning. It would probably also be going a lot better if you weren’t guilt-chugging that cup (or two) of coffee before leaving your apartment six minutes earlier than usual to catch the 8:00 train instead of the 8:10 train just so you could grab a to-go cup of earl gray from the tea shop down the street from your office and drink that as you walked into work so that you could continue to keep up the charade that your tea-drinking endeavors were going well in front of your coworkers.
The glass was already foggy when you returned to take your shower. You wanted to be at the office early today to set up for the interviews so you tied up your hair and quickly rinsed off. The soapy water hadn’t even finished draining from the tile floor before you were out and wrapping yourself up in a towel.
You dried yourself off and dropped the towel in your hamper, not bothering with clothes yet. You walked back into the kitchen and poured yourself a cup of coffee.
You sipped it as you turned on the stove and cracked an egg into a pan. You usually liked to have a bagel or a quick granola bar before work, but when you were feeling fancy you liked to make yourself a couple slices of avocado toast for breakfast. You had decided that today was a fancy day.
You popped the bread in the toaster as the eggs fried and sliced a ripe avocado in the meantime. As soon as you were done with that, it was time to flip the eggs and put the toast on a plate.
You finished your first cup of coffee and went to pour yourself a second, but thought better of it. You’d be sitting in one place for a majority of the day and too much caffeine would make you fidgety and anxious if you didn’t have a way to diffuse the energy.
You ate your breakfast at the bar in your kitchen, looking over the stack of resumes one last time as you did.
“Are you ready for today?” one of your supervisors, Carolina, asked as soon as she saw you walk in the door.
You took a sip of tea from the paper cup in your hand and grimaced. “I’ve been dreading it all week.”
“At least it’ll be over by tonight.”
“Sure, this round will be over, but then there’s still follow-up interviews and training and-”
“Whoa, whoa, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This is the worst part, and we’ve just got to take it one thing at a time.”
You sighed. “You’re right, sorry.”
Carolina smiled and nodded her head in the direction of the hall. “Conference Room B is all set up for you when you’re ready. Page me to let me know when I can send the candidates in.”
“Got it, thanks.”
You set yourself up with your laptop and paperwork at one end of the table, and left the seat across from you open for the interviewee.
The morning dragged by at an agonizingly slow pace. Each potential hire seemed determined to bore you to death with their graduate school anecdotes and corporate buzzwords. They were all the same. Too stiff, too self-absorbed, too-
“Y/n, we’ve got your next one ready for you.”
You cleared your throat before pressing the speak button on the intercom, having been lost in thought when Carolina’s voice began echoing throughout the room.
“Sounds good, you can send them over to me.”
You sat up a little straighter in your chair and brushed yourself off. You’d been interviewing for a couple hours straight already, but you still wanted to look fresh-faced for everyone who came in. You were representing the company, after all, and interviews were just as much about trying to impress the candidates as it was about them trying to impress you.
You reached for your cup of tea before remembering it had probably long since gone cold and grimaced, perking up when you heard the familiar squeak of the door.
The young man offered you his hand before settling in the chair opposite yours with a polite smile.
“Mr.... Kwon,” you said, reading his name off of his resume in front of you. “Nice to meet you.”
“Likewise,” he agreed. “And you can call me Soonyoung.”
You quirked an eyebrow, but nodded. Straight past his last name and right to Soonyoung, interesting you mused to yourself as you scanned his profile again.
“Nice to meet you, Soonyoung. I’m y/n y/l/n. I’m a Senior Associate here and I’m just going to ask you a few questions about yourself, your work, typical interview stuff. Does that sound okay?”
“Sounds perfect.”
You paused and pretended to organize the papers in front of you while you discreetly gave him a once-over, making mental notes to yourself. He wore a Rolex on his left wrist. That told you that his last job had paid well enough to be able to afford one- either that or his parents came from money. You had a lot of trust-fund kids wasting your time today, you hoped he wasn’t another. Your office already reeked of nepotism and you just wanted this new hire to be on your side of things.
He was rather handsome too. Smartly dressed, sharp jawline, hair that was just barely tamed by gel, warm brown eyes that crinkled up in the corners when he smiled- you had to remind yourself not to stare.
“Alright, Soonyoung, why don’t you tell me a little about yourself?” The question always tasted bitter when you asked it and it was hard not to cringe. It was the most basic question in the book, but it was a good way to get to know what kind of an employee someone was.
“Uh, well, I just moved here from Seoul. I got in yesterday afternoon and still have loads to unpack, but I’m hoping to adjust quick. I was an Executive Consultant for five years at my last firm, and had just been promoted to Executive Manager last spring.” He paused to think. “What else... I really love to golf on my days off, and if I’m not golfing I’m usually at home watching movies.”
“A lot of our clients like to golf,” you commented off-handedly. “Are you any good?”
Soonyoung shrugged, smiling humbly. “I’m decent. I haven’t had the chance to play for real in a while.”
“Why’s that?” you were aware you were moving away from interview territory, but you told yourself it was relevant enough to pursue.
“Most of my recent games were taking clients out to golf at my old firm. I had to play like shit on purpose so they’d win and we’d close a deal.”
“Did you ever consider that maybe they were just better than you?” you asked.
Soonyoung narrowed his eyes the tiniest bit, but kept a polite smile on his face. “Trust me, I had to try very hard to lose.”
“So you had a pretty successful closing rate?”
“About twenty-six percent.”
You tried to hide your surprise, nodding as if that was a completely normal closing rate for your company.
“May I ask why you moved?” you continued.
“I’ve lived in Seoul my entire life. I wanted a change of scenery, I suppose.”
“Moving across the globe without the security of a job? That seems like quite a big risk.”
He gave another shrug. “What’s life without a few risks?”
You nodded, writing what he’d said down on the yellow notepad in front of you. Soonyoung shifted in his seat, subtly craning his neck to see across the table at what you were jotting down.
“Moving on,” you said and flipped the notebook over abruptly. The slap of the movement startled Soonyoung momentarily and he only let the deer-in-the-headlights look cross his features for a second before recomposing himself. “Do you consider yourself to be a leader or a follower?”
“I’m a switch,” he answered easily, eyes only widening in realization once the sentence left his mouth. “I mean, I can switch. I was in a management position at my last job, but I still had plenty of superiors to answer to. I started at an entry level in that company and worked my way up, so I have experience with both.”
“And do you have any qualms with being a subordinate to a woman? I ask because if you’re offered the position I would be your boss.”
Soonyoung shook his head in response, giving a small, almost imperceptible smirk. “Like I said.”
The rest of the interview passed by smoothly, and you didn’t realize how much time had passed until you glanced up at the clock above the door. You straightened the stack of papers in front of you to indicate that you were wrapping things up and stood from your chair to shake Soonyoung’s hand again.
“To be completely candid, Mr. Kwon- Soonyoung, you are overqualified for this position. However, our company offers plenty of mobility and your starting salary would be almost equal to your previous one. If you’re interested, I’d like to set up a follow-up interview with you tomorrow.”
Soonyoung smiled, and there went the crinkles of his eyes again, softening the sharpness of his features and making him look a couple years younger. “That sounds perfect. Thank you.”
“Great. On your way out you can schedule a time to meet with Carolina.”
“I’ll be sure to do that,” he assured you. “Thank you again.”
“Of course. I’ll see you tomorrow?” you hoped the question didn’t sound too hopeful.
“See you tomorrow.”
You went home feeling a thousand times better than you had that morning. The rest of the interviews had been a blur, and you couldn’t stop thinking about Soonyoung. He surpassed all of the other candidates in almost every aspect, and it didn’t hurt that he was easy on the eyes.
You knew your attraction to him was a problem. You couldn’t hire someone just because you thought they were hot. It was insanely biased, and extremely inappropriate, yet you couldn’t shake the thought of him from your mind. You would be crossing every line in the existence of lines by sleeping with him- that was, if he even felt the same way about you. It would be an unethical use of power, and totally unprofessional so you resolved not to even think about him in that way. Because there was no way around it. He was the best candidate for the job and a perfect addition to your team. You couldn’t not hire him.
The route home usually took about half an hour, but you walked at a faster pace this time because you were supposed to have dinner with a colleague at your apartment and you needed time to cook so there’d be food on the table when he got there.
You made it home in half the time, and kicked off your shoes by the door like you usually did, but kept your work clothes on.
To say you were unprepared for this dinner was an understatement. You barely had anything in your pantry and your cooking skills were subpar at best. Add the time crunch into the equation and it was a recipe for disaster. You could only throw a pot of water on the stove and crack open a jar of marinara sauce and hope for the best.
-
Soonyoung tried not to smile too wide as he walked out of the interview. He needed to remind himself that the job wasn’t his yet. He still had another interview to get through. Still, he figured a follow-up to be somewhat of a success and a good enough reason to treat himself to pizza.
By the time he made it back to his apartment it was almost dark out. His interview had been in the morning, but after walking two miles to get to the pizzeria he’d found on Yelp, getting on the wrong train twice and missing his stop, it was well into the afternoon. He was glad he’d ordered a whole pizza so he could have the leftovers for dinner, and wouldn’t have to venture out into the city again.
The cardboard boxes sprawled across his living room floor were an unwelcome sight, taunting him with their unlabeled contents, but he tried not to think about it. He deserved at least an hour of rest before he started unpacking again.
He pushed one of the heavier ones into the center of the room to use as a table and set the pizza box on top of it. After changing back into a t-shirt and sweats he settled on the floor with a grunt, twisting the cap off a bottle of beer with the hem of his shirt. He took a sip and let the bubbles soothe his throat.
He stared off out the window, attention snapping to the apartment across from his. Soonyoung realized he hadn’t thought about the girl in the window all day, and silently patted himself on the back for it. Maybe it wouldn’t be so hard to live with, and he wouldn’t have to spiral into a pattern of self-loathing every time he found himself looking. As long as he kept himself in check.
He let himself look for a little longer, promising himself that he would look away if he saw anything he wasn’t supposed to. The lights were on, like they had been last night, but he didn’t see the woman. He scanned the array of windows until he saw her sitting at the kitchen table. She wasn’t alone tonight. There was another person at the table with her, a man.
Soonyoung bit his lip and tried to ignore the way his heart sank. He didn’t even know this person, didn’t even know what her face looked like and here he was getting jealous of another person he didn’t know.
He tore his gaze away from the window and stared down at the floor.
“Stupid,” he muttered to himself and took another bite of his pizza even though he had lost his appetite.
People had crushes on strangers all the time. His would fade and soon he wouldn’t even be thinking of whoever it was in that apartment across the way. And if things went well with tomorrow’s interview, he had you. He hadn’t expected to be interviewed by someone his age, let alone someone as pretty as you. It had caught him off guard in the best way possible, and he found himself hanging onto every word you said.
But he wouldn’t be able to act on his feelings with you either, because if he was hired you would be his boss. And it would be completely inappropriate to harbor feelings like that for a colleague. He’d only lived here for a day. He would meet someone eventually. He just needed to give it time.

Joshua Hong wasn’t in town for long. He never was. You wondered why he bothered flying all the way to New York for a few conferences when he could just join them online, but he insisted that having face-to-face interactions were important for interpersonal connections and relationship building and so on.
Secretly, you believed the real reason to be that he missed you and your colleagues on the east coast and used business as an excuse to see you. He had lived in New York for a few years before moving to the LA division of your company. The shift in the dynamic of your team had taken a toll, and it took you months to forgive him for leaving. The first few times he came back to visit were nearly impossible to endure. Everyone was happy to see him, but you. You faked a smile and played along, but your relationship had never fully recovered.
Maybe it was because you’d always had a little crush on him, or because no one was there to take his place, leaving your team dividing his workload amongst yourselves with no additional compensation. The position you were currently hiring for actually used to be Joshua’s. It had taken nine months to convince the CEO to finally fill it, and he only agreed after one of your coworkers threatened to sue over breach of contract.
Even though you were certain that you and Joshua would never be as close as you had once been again, he still had you wrapped around his finger in some ways because you could never say no to him. When he’d asked to have dinner with you under the guise of work, you’d agreed on instinct, not considering how tired you would be or how strenuous it would be to see him again.
“This is really good,” Joshua complimented, twirling spaghetti around on his fork.
“You’re just saying that,” you countered and rolled your eyes as you sipped your wine.
“I’m not!”
“Please, I know LA has ruined you and turned you into a food snob. I watch your Instagram stories.”
“Doesn’t mean I don’t love a good classic.”
“You and I both know this marinara is from a jar.”
He chuckled. “So? That doesn’t change the fact that it’s good.”
“Whatever.”
Joshua gave you an amused smile from across the table and placed his fork back down on his plate. “So I hear they’re finally replacing me?”
You nodded. “They are. ‘They’ being me.”
“Really?” he asked, eyebrows raised. “Anyone promising?”
“There’s this guy, Soonyoung, who might fit.”
“What’s he like?”
“He’s Korean, actually just moved here. He’s pretty charismatic too, but not in a sleazy salesman way. Kind of like you.”
“Is he better than me?” Joshua pressed, leaning forward with his elbows on the table.
“You know there’s no way to tell that yet,” you chided. “But he shows promise.”
“Let me see his profile.”
You shook your head. “Sorry, but you don’t have the clearance to see it.”
Joshua’s eyes widened like he couldn’t believe you were saying no to him, probably because he rarely heard it from you. “What, do we work in a government agency all of the sudden?”
“I have a lot riding on this hire, Joshua. I can’t let anything screw it up.” He seemed to surrender at that, nodding in understanding. “Did you ask me to dinner just to grill me about the new guy?”
“No! I wanted to see you,” he paused, “and make sure that you wouldn’t forget about me when I was replaced.”
You sighed, giving him a tired, perhaps wistful look. “Trust me, I couldn’t forget you if I tried.”
Joshua left around eleven, after several glasses of wine and helping you with the dishes. As much as you hated to admit it, you missed him. But you needed to move on, in more ways than one.
You stripped as soon as you locked the door behind him and threw your work clothes into the laundry basket.
You were a little tipsy from the wine, but you still had work to do before you could go to sleep. There was paperwork to finalize, and you still had to draft a rejection email for all of the candidates who weren’t moving on in the interviewing process.
You grabbed your briefcase and returned to the kitchen table, rolling your neck as you realized you had another long night ahead of you.
-
Soonyoung wasn’t aware that he was staring until the man stood from his seat and took the dishes from the table to the sink. The sudden motion pulled him back to reality and reminded him that he was sitting alone in the dark once again. He cursed under his breath and chugged the rest of his beer.
His pizza had gone cold in the time he’d spent trying to determine the relationship between the man and the woman in the apartment across from his. He couldn’t tell what they were, and not being able to read their facial expressions made it even harder.
He watched as they washed dishes shoulder to shoulder, telling himself that it was no different from people watching, which was untrue since the people in question weren’t in public, but he ignored the guilt twisting in his stomach and continued to watch. At least no one was naked this time.
The woman’s shoulders moved up and down in laughter, suggesting the man had said something funny. But then she was walking him to the door and letting him out, and that was it. Show was over.
So they weren’t together. At least, not yet. Soonyoung hated himself for the conclusion he’d just drawn, and he hated himself even more for feeling relieved.
Soonyoung leaned back to reach the lamp that was still on the floor and flicked it on so that he could see. He shoved the leftover pizza into the back of his fridge and returned to the living room to try and get a little more unpacking done.
He started with one of the boxes he’d opened the day before when he had been in search of his suits, and began sorting through its contents. He allowed himself another glance at the window to check if the man had returned, only to see the woman completely naked. Again.
“Jesus fucking christ,” he groaned and forcefully turned his eyes to the floor. He needed to buy some curtains as soon as possible because there was no way he would be able to be a respectful neighbor otherwise.
He blinked the image of her silhouette from his mind, trying not to dwell on the thought of her sitting at her kitchen table with nothing between her thighs and the chair.
He couldn’t focus. Every time he tried to get back to the task at hand his thoughts went to her. It was getting pathetic.
One more look. One more and then never again.
It seemed like a simple enough resolution and he promised God he would go to confession at the end of the week- even though it had been years since he’d been to mass.
He gave in to his curiosity and gave the window one final, longing glance. The woman was still at the table, concentrating on something in front of her. But something else caught Soonyoung’s attention this time. It was a snakeskin briefcase that sat on the table next to her. He had only noticed it because of the gold details on the bag that reflected the light, just like the one you-
A thousand different emotions flooded Soonyoung’s senses as the realization set in. It felt like a bucket of ice water had been poured over his head. There was no way-
It had to be a coincidence. Had to be. Two people could have the same briefcase... and the same body... and the same hair. As he thought back to his interview earlier that day he saw more and more similarities between you and the girl in the window.
He definitely needed to go to confession now. Not only had he been staring in the window of some naked woman, the woman might just be his future boss.
He felt sick, and despite it all he felt the familiar burn of arousal flicker to life in his stomach. There was no way he’d be getting any sleep tonight.
-
Soonyoung seemed different. Yesterday he had been confident, charming, and on top of every question you threw at him. Today, he seemed nervous. He was fidgety and distracted. He wouldn’t even make eye contact with you. He kept his gaze trained on your briefcase instead, refusing to take his eyes off of it.
You had been so sure that he was the one, but now you were thinking you might have to start from scratch.
“Soonyoung, are you okay?” you asked, your frustration turning into concern when he failed to answer your question for the third time. “Do you need me to repeat the question again?”
He looked up at you finally, eyes wide and cheeks pink. “Sorry,” he apologized.
“It’s okay.”
“No, I- I’m sorry,” he repeated. “I can’t do this.”
“What do you mean?”
“I- fuck,” he paused to take a deep breath and shook his head. “I don’t know how to put this, but I think... we’re neighbors.”
“Oh, you live in my building?”
You didn’t see a problem with that. You weren’t sure why it was something he would be tearing himself up over either.
“No, I don’t.”
“So... then how would we be neighbors?”
He averted his gaze again and swallowed harshly. “I live in the high-rise across from yours.”
You raised your eyebrows in question, feeling your pulse jump in warning. Your fingers inched toward the phone, ready to call security at a moment’s notice.
“And fuck, I really wanted this job, but um, I only know that because my apartment is literally right across from yours. And you have a lot of windows... that I can see into.”
You let his words sink in, hand retreating from the phone. “Oh my god.”
“I’m so sorry. I wasn’t trying to look or anything, I promise. Your windows are just so big. I didn’t even want to come in today because I felt so bad about it, but I figured you should know that it was possible to see into your apartment. Like other people might also be able to see you too. I just came to tell you that because I don’t think I’d be able to live my life just knowing that information and not telling you.” Soonyoung stopped talking finally, giving you an opportunity to respond. The tips of his ears were red with embarrassment and he looked like he wanted to jump out the window.
You were covering your mouth with shock by now, absolutely mortified. “I am so sorry,” you yelped. “I had no idea, oh my god. I hope you don’t feel... violated or anything.”
“Oh, not at all,” he assured you. “I felt the opposite, actually- I mean, I hope you don’t feel violated.” He stood from his chair before you could say anything else. “Anyway, thank you for your time.”
-
Soonyoung kicked himself the whole way to the subway station. That job had been the best opportunity he had at breaking into the industry here in New York and he’d fucked it. He could’ve kept his big mouth shut and pretended like everything was normal- but just the thought of that made bile rise in the back of his throat.
No, he was glad he had been honest. It just sucked that he’d lost such a good position, and ruined whatever nonexistent chance he had with you.
When he got home he threw all of his energy into unpacking. He was determined to make a real dent in the pile of boxes this time, and then maybe afterward fill out some job applications.
His apartment was actually starting to look livable by the time he took a break to eat leftover pizza for dinner. He’d unwrapped the plastic covering and bubble wrap from his couch so that he actually had a place to sit now, and he’d found a standing lamp to replace the table lamp sitting on the floor.
He was about to move on to a box full of clothes when he risked taking a look over at your apartment. To his surprise, you were standing in your living room, wearing nothing but a bra and panties. He furrowed his eyes in confusion, wondering why you were still choosing to walk around your apartment undressed with the knowledge that he could see you. But before he could look away his phone started buzzing in his pocket. It was an unsaved number, but he suddenly had the feeling he knew who it was.
“Hello?”
“Soonyoung?”
He recognized the voice immediately, and snapped his attention back over to the windows where he could see you looking back this time, phone pressed to your ear.
“Y/n.” He realized he had never called you by your first name before, and hoped you weren’t offended by it.
“The job’s yours if you want it.”
He blinked, staring right at you. “What?”
“The position. It’s yours if you want it. You were the best candidate by far and I think you’d make a great addition to the team.”
“You’re joking.”
“I’m not.”
“You’re serious?”
“I am.” He heard you take a breath before continuing. “You have time to think it over, of course. Let me know by the weekend.”
“I don’t need time to think,” he heard himself say.
“No?”
“No. I’ll take it.” “Are you sure?”
“I’m sure.”
“Soonyoung?” you asked, reaching behind you and unclipping your bra. You caught the fabric and pressed it against your chest so that it wouldn’t slip down.
“Yeah?”
“Tell me if I’m overstepping.”
“You’re not overstepping,” he breathed, hand already traveling down to the waistband of his shorts.
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
He watched with a slack jaw as you let the bra fall to the floor. You moved to the couch and draped yourself over it, opening your legs to give him a view of your whole body, from your pussy up to your neck. He pulled off his shirt and shimmied out of his shorts quickly so that you were on an even playing field. It was still uneven in his opinion. You were so beautiful, he felt inadequate in comparison. But the moan you let out upon seeing him shirtless boosted his ego the tiniest bit.
“I shouldn’t be doing this,” you murmured quietly into the phone.
“I don’t want to stop,” Soonyoung admitted.
“Me either.”
His breath caught in his throat as you pulled your panties down and let them join your bra on the floor. He was too far away to see anything in detail, but he could imagine. You brought a hand down in between your legs, spreading your wetness around with your fingers.
“Fuck,” he whispered.
He was hard. He was so hard that it was starting to hurt, and all he could think about was running his cock through your folds. Being the one to make your back arch off the couch like it was now.
He spat into his palm and began working his hand up and down his cock, sighing in relief.
“You sound so pretty,” you echoed, and Soonyoung straight up whimpered in response. He felt his cheeks heat up in embarrassment, but he couldn’t bring himself to care. “God, I wish I had your fingers instead of mine. They’re so much longer.”
“Guess you’ll just have to imagine them,” Soonyoung said, finding his voice out of nowhere. It was your turn to whimper. “Picture them working you open, stretching you for my cock.”
“Soonyoung?” you asked hoarsely.
“Yeah?”
“Come over.”
“Fuck, right now?”
“Yes right now. I need you,” you whined. “Fiftieth floor, the door code is 0716.”
He heard the phone click as you hung up and that was all it took. He scrambled for his pants and shirt that he’d thrown somewhere in the room, tripping when he tried to jump into both legs of his shorts at the same time. He rushed out into the hallway and pressed the down button on the elevator repeatedly, like it would make it come any faster.
He tried to act like he wasn’t out of breath and held his hands together in front of his crotch in an attempt to hide his erection. The other people on the elevator ignored him, only addressing him to ask which floor he was going to.
Soonyoung swore he’d never run so fast in his entire life. He dodged taxis, bikers, and pedestrians as he crossed the street illegally and made it to the elevator of your building right before the doors shut.
-
You had put on a sheer robe while you waited for Soonyoung, not wanting to open the door completely naked, but you were beginning to have second thoughts. You were officially Soonyoung’s boss now, which meant that having sex with him was at the very top of the list of things you shouldn’t do. It would no doubt be considered a gross misuse of power, and to make matters worse he had literally just been hired. His first experience with you shouldn’t be in bed-
You heard the lock click and turned around to see Soonyoung standing in your doorway. He was breathing hard and practically dripping with sweat. All doubts about crossing the line vanished when you looked into his eyes and saw how dark they were. He hadn’t even said anything, yet you knew how much he wanted you.
Even more evident was the outline of his hard cock straining against the fabric of his sweat shorts. You tried not to stare, but you figured it was only fair, given how he was staring at you.
Soonyoung let the door shut behind him before approaching you. His hands trembled as he brought them up to your shoulders, like he was unsure of where to start. He slipped his thumbs under the hem of your robe finally and you shivered at the contact. You bit your lip and nodded at him to keep going.
He pulled the fabric down off your shoulders and let the robe pool at your feet. You looked down at it and then back up at him expectantly. He took the cue to follow and yanked his shirt off over his head, followed by his shorts so that he was in his underwear.
“Can I kiss you?” he asked. His voice sounded an octave lower than it had been over the phone and it made your knees weak.
“Please,” you choked out.
He placed one hand on your cheek and tilted your head to the side, pressing his lips to yours. It was needy and desperate, strung with promises of what was to follow. His peppermint chapstick made your lips tingle and you leaned in, deepening the kiss. His fingers dug into your waist as he took control, slipping his tongue into your mouth. You moaned and wrapped your arms around his neck to pull him closer.
Soonyoung’s hands made their way down to your ass and squeezed, making you yelp in surprise. He chuckled against your mouth and broke away from the kiss.
“Should we move this to my bedroom?” you asked, breathless.
Soonyoung shook his head. “I want to take you here.”
“Where?”
“Here,” he repeated and nodded toward the windows.
“O-okay,” you agreed, a little unsure on the mechanics of how it would work. But Soonyoung seemed confident, beckoning you over with a wave of his hand.
“C’mere,” he said. “I know you said you wanted my fingers, but I’m dying for a taste of you,” he admitted. “Is that okay?”
You nodded desperately as you watched Soonyoung sink to his knees in front of you. He pushed his hair back with his hand and used the other to hike your leg up over his shoulder. You felt his breath on your clit before anything else, felt the way he was hovering inches in front of your cunt like a goddamn tease.
“Soonyoung, please,” you begged.
You jolted when he suddenly buried his face in between your thighs, letting out a strangled moan as his tongue circled your clit. It was all too much and you had to pull on his hair to maintain your balance. Soonyoung didn’t seem to mind too much, in fact it only spurred him on as he moved even further down and began to tongue fuck you.
His nose bumped against your clit as he worked his tongue in and out of you and it was all you could do not to black out from the pleasure. You braced yourself against the window with one hand, trying to hold off the orgasm building in the pit of your stomach.
“Soonyoung, wait,” you cried and tugged him away from your pussy by his hair.
He jutted his lip out in a pout and frowned like he was disappointed he hadn’t gotten to finish you off. His chin was glistening in your arousal and his lips were pink and swollen from sucking on your clit.
“I want you inside of me,” you pleaded. “Please, Soonyoung?”
He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and rose from his knees, smirking as he took the advantage of height back.
“Of course, angel,” he said, pulling you closer so that he could kiss you again. You moaned as you tasted yourself on his tongue, ignoring the way he laughed at your neediness. “Turn around for me, love,” he instructed as he pushed his boxers down. “Hands on the window.”
You did as you were told and bent over. Soonyoung’s hand made contact with your ass just once, the harsh smack echoing throughout the room. You cried out, body shaking even when he ran a hand over the mark to soothe it.
He took his time lining himself up with you, wanting to tease you as much as possible before he finally gave you what you wanted. You tried pushing yourself back against him, but he was having none of it and put you back in your place every time.
“I didn’t take you for a brat,” he mused.
“I didn’t take you for a tease,” you bit back through gritted teeth.
“Yes you did.”
“Fine, but I didn’t take you for someone who was all talk and no follow-through.”
That seemed to work because Soonyoung pushed himself inside you as soon as the sentence left your mouth. You lurched forward, hands on the window slipping as you cursed him out.
“What were you saying?” he taunted, running a hand down your exposed back.
“N-nothing!”
“That’s what I thought.”
He gave you a few moments to adjust to his size, but you were too impatient to wait and began fucking yourself on his cock, desperate for the release that had built up when he was going down on you. Soonyoung brought his hand down against your ass again and stilled your hips.
“Did I say you could move?” he demanded. “Answer me.”
“No!”
“Then why did you?”
“I’m sorry!” you cried.
“That doesn’t answer my question.”
“Your cock-” you choked out, “felt so good. I couldn’t help myself. I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay, darling. You’re going to be a good girl for me now, aren’t you?”
“Yes.”
“Yes, what?”
“Yes, sir.”
He seemed satisfied with your answer and thrust into you once, then again, slowly building up to a steady rhythm.
For a moment or two all that could be heard was the slapping of skin and your shaky gasps. Soonyoung’s cock was bigger than you expected, and each time he hit your g-spot you couldn’t help but let your eyes roll to the back of your head in pleasure.
You weren’t even trying to hold back your moans at this point, too fucked out to care. Soonyoung let a hand wrap around the front of your body and travel up to your throat. He rubbed his thumb along your jaw, pressing it against your lips for you to suck on.
You took it into your mouth eagerly, letting him push it further and further until you were practically gagging on it. When he was satisfied with your work he took his finger out of your mouth and wrapped the same hand around your throat, squeezing lightly.
“Fuck,” you whined.
“Are you close?” Soonyoung asked, likely because he was also teetering on the edge.
“Yes, so close.”
“Do you think you deserve to cum?” he pressed, tightening his grip on your neck. “Think anyone watching you get fucked like a slut against the window deserves to see you cum?”
“No one can see me,” you insisted. “It was only you.”
“How do you know?”
“I don’t,” you admitted, feeling like the invisible string inside of you would snap at any second.
“You could have a whole audience and not even know it, y/n. What do you think, should we give them a show?”
All you could do was nod as he continued to pound into you from behind, not trusting yourself to speak.
“Soonyoung, please let me cum I can’t hold it-” you gasped as you tipped over the edge before he could respond, clenching around his cock harder than you knew you were capable of. It felt as if you were falling from the window of your apartment, hurtling toward the ground some fifty stories below.
“Fuck, I’m going to cum,” Soonyoung muttered, his hips faltering.
“Cum inside me, please cum inside me,” you begged. “I’m on the pill you can cum inside me.”
He came with a groan of your name, pumping his cum further into you with every thrust. “So fucking tight,” he sighed as he continued to lazily rock his hips into yours. “Is your poor cunt so sensitive now?” he asked, voice dripping with fake sympathy.
“Yes,” you answered quietly, feeling tears prick in the corners of your eyes at the overstimulation.
Soonyoung pulled out of you finally, making you whimper at the empty feeling. He chuckled and helped you stand up straight, ready to catch you if your legs gave out.
“That’s what you get for cumming without permission,” he said.
“You’re an asshole,” you mumbled, eyes only half open. “I’m your boss. You should let me cum whenever I want.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” Soonyoung assured you.
You watched as he picked up his clothes from around your living room and wondered if you had just ruined everything. Once he was dressed he made his way back over to you and kissed you chastely on the lips. The kiss didn’t help you relax at all. It only confused your feelings for him even more.
“See you monday?” you asked hopefully. If nothing else, you hoped he would still accept the position for the sake of your team, even if things between you were awkward and he never wanted to sleep with you again-
“See you monday,” he repeated in confirmation. “And next round’s at my place.”

hello mai! congrats on 500 againn you deserve each and every last one <33 i’m here for your event!!
chuuya, second chance, fluff
thank you, and take your time!!
about! chuuya comes to his ex’s apartment badly injured. his wounds aren’t the only thing that gets mended.
warnings! mentions of blood + injuries
memo! res res res!! thank you so so much for joining my event, i hope you enjoy <3 sending you a big hug 🫂
Tumblr media
it was rare chuuya got so badly injured, but fuck, did it hurt when he did. it wasn't like him to get distracted during missions, but ever since the two of you broke up, he found it impossible to keep you out of his mind. no matter where he was, or what he was doing, his thoughts always strayed back to you.
his head aches thinking of the bright white walls of the mafia infirmary, with the itchy cots and the unfamiliar nurses. all he wants is you, with your soft hands and caring gaze as you treated his injuries. coincidentally, your apartment is closer than his, and he justifies that it only makes senseー that maybe it’s a sign.
by the time he's done overthinking it, he’s knocking on your door.
he hears your muffled “chuuya?” on the other side before you open the door. your hair messily frames your face, your eyes have a sheen of sleepiness, your cheeks are tinted pink…you’re just as pretty as he remembers. you’re wearing a shirt he recognizes; his mind wanders to the moments he’d come home to you cooking dinner wearing it, or on cloudy mornings when he’d embarrassingly drool on it as he slumbered on your chest.
“you’re bleeding.” he snaps out of it at your sigh, gently turning his cheek to assess the damage. he can’t lie to himself and say he hasn’t fantasized about moments like this, ones he thought he’d never get again; of course he wishes they were under different circumstances. he’d feel nicer if his head wasn’t bleeding, for one.
you lead him inside, pulling out a chair for him on your way to the bathroom closet. he sees your laptop open on the couch and holds back the urge to scold you for late night working when you were obviously tired. you come back with a first aid kit, and he parts his legs for you to stand closer; he can’t help but collapse into you, burying his face into your stomach with a sigh of relief.
“why did you come here, chuuya?” you try to pull away, but his arms stay heavy around your waist.
“you were close. and i knew you’d be awake.” he mumbles into you. “you need to take better care of yourself, y’know.”
he smiles at the sound of your airy laugh, hands coming up to card through his dirtied hair as he melts further into you. “aren't you the one bleeding right now?”
he shivers when you brush his bangs back, getting ready to clean the cut on his forehead. it's easy to ignore the sting of the peroxide when he’s breathing in that familiar, comforting scent of your perfume. he feels you tape down the gauze, mindful of his baby hairs as you smooth down the edges. you press a kiss to the bandage on instinct, freezing when you realize what you did. “oh my gosh— i didn’t—”
“don’t worry about it," his lips are tilted in a lopsided smile when he pulls away from your midsection just enough to look up at you. "it always hurt less when you would do that."
you stiffly nod, leaning down, coming nose to nose with him as you get ready to clean the wound above his lip. you dab the cut gently, eyebrows scrunching sympathetically when he winces. “sorry.”
he brushes your hair back when strands fall in your face. your movements stutter when his hand grazes your cheek. “sorry…” he repeats the word back to you, eyes falling down to your mouth.
you’re both so close, he can’t help but brush his lips against yours, barely containing the warmth that floods his entire being when you kiss him back. he brings his gloved hand up to cradle your face; you hold it in place with your own.
when you pull away, your heavy eyes are dilated.
“we should talk about this tomorrow. not now.” he nods at your words, kissing you again; he can feel your smile against his lips, but it’s gone by the time you separate.
you move to the cut on his cheek, cleaning it in silence as chuuya moves his hands to your hips. he rolls his thumbs in circles over the fabric of your shirt, watching you work diligently from the corner of his eye. when you place the butterfly bandage on his cheek with an "all done", his heart sinks as he loses the one reason he had to be close to you like this.
“you can stay here for the night,” at your mumble, he raises his eyebrows toward you. “i mean…you don’t want to run into any other bad guys, right?”
he doesn't know what to be happier about: the fact you wanted him to stay longer, or the fact you didn't see him as one of the bad guys. “what,” he looks at you through his bangs, head tilted with a cocky smirk. “you don’t think i could kick their asses too?”
you give him an exhausted look, one he didn't realize he had missed so much. “just rest, chuuya. please.”
he doesn't swat your hands away as you help him up from the chair, or when you don't let go as you lead him to your bedroom, as if he didn't know where it was. when he gets into bed, he doesn't even realize he climbs into what used to be his side.
your hand is limp in between the both of you as you get comfortable. he lightly slips his fingers in between yours in a loose hold, smiling at the sigh that leaves your parted lips.
"i lied before," you open your eyes sleepily as he avoids your gaze. "the real reason i came is because i missed you."
his heart flutters when you squeeze his hand. "tomorrow, okay?"
he can’t wait to wake up next to you, even if he does drool on your shirt again.
"yeah. tomorrow."

ii. secret.
read on ao3
Lena Luthor dies a villain.
Her death took out half the population in the vicinity. A blinding white light piercing through the National City skyline. A deafening boom heard 5 cities over. An explosion so great, even Supergirl was knocked dead.
And so, Lena Luthor dies a villain.
Alone and young. And so, so bitter. An accomplice and ally to Lex Luthor.
Some would even say she was a greater, far more cunning, far more terrifying force than Lex.
There were rumors that the woman had magic at the end of it all. That no one person could be capable of that much destruction without the help of something inhuman.
But well, rumors were all it can be, especially when all possible witnesses perished along with the Luthors.
******
Weeks later, Andrea Rojas holds a memorial event for Lena Luthor; protesters burn the venue to the ground.
Months later, Supergirl returns to the world. More radiant than ever. More alive than ever. Stronger. Better.
Years later, National City recovers fully from the whole catastrophe.
Supergirl is reported to most frequently be seen in the memorial square for the fallen victims. A dozen paparazzi pictures of the caped heroine quietly walking, sometimes whispering under breath.
Praying, somebody on a CatCo article comments. She’s always praying whenever we see her there.
****** The closet doors burst open and out steps Alex Danvers.
A colorful stream of expletives coming right along with her, “Fuckin’ fur coats, goddamn hangers, fucking hitting me in the face—”
“Took you long enough,” a familiar voice greets her, “where the hell have you been? And why are you so...dirty? If you track mud on my carpet I swear to God, Alex—”
“I was cleaning your grave, okay?” she snaps, setting down a bucket filled with various cleaning supplies, that Lena’s just now noticing, on said carpet.
“Oh.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Alex huffs about, crossing her arms, “You don’t have to make a big deal about it. I don’t want to do it again, it’s a bitch for my back pain. I was just pissed about the graffiti. You’d think people would have better manners than defacing the grave of a dead woman. If only they—”
“Thank you, Alex,” she cuts her off, a shy smile gracing her face. She really doesn’t want to hear about the rest of it. And if Alex doesn’t want to make a big deal out of it, then no big deal shall be made.
“There’s coffee in the kitchen,” she says then, and Alex just nods, grabs her bucket of supplies again and turns to leave.
Although not before saying, “Remind me again why you let Kara win? With the portal?”
Lena just shrugs, dark hair escaping out of her messy bun at the movement.
“She said she’s always wanted to go to Narnia.”
Alex shakes her head, rolls her eyes, “Whipped.”
And well, that sounds about right.
******
There’s a documentary on Netflix about the Luthors. Lena’s face in black and white, on the preview banner, a big red X drawn over it.
Kara snaps the remote in half.
Lena reaches over the blanket, grabs her hand, flicks the TV off with only a swish of her fingers and a glitter of sparks.
“C’mere,” she says, tugging gently, till she has a lapful of Krytonian draped over her. Lena traces her fingers over the crinkle between Kara’s brow, smooths them out, thumb dragging across lips till it pulls to a soft smile.
“We know the truth,” she tells her, “and that’s enough.”
“It’s not fair.”
Nothing ever is.
******
“How’re the kids?” She asks, one hand whisking eggs, the other holding the bowl steady.
“Oh, you know, asking me a thousand silly questions a day. Driving Alex crazy. Never letting me sleep. They’re perfect, really,” Kelly says, and Lena hums in response. Before she catches Kelly popping a blueberry in her mouth, a crime punishable by Lena Luthor’s death stare.
“Those are for the muffins.” A foam covered whisk points dangerously to Kelly’s chest.
She raises both arms in surrender, palms opening, dropping the remaining three blueberries onto the counter.
“You know, I’ve seen you do it a thousand times, yet it still doesn’t fail to surprise me.”
Lena concludes she’s talking about the baking tray hovering in the air, a feet away from them, greasing itself. Or maybe it’s the soup at the stove with a ladle stirring itself.
“What can I say,” Lena quips, smirking, “I’m magical like that.”
******
Andrea finds her on a Tuesday.
One minute Lena is reading quietly on her front porch, the next, there is an explosion of sound in her living room. She throws open her door, magical energy sizzling at her fingertips.
The sight that greets her stops her in her tracks. Acrata pinning Supergirl down, their coffee table destroyed. She sighs internally, she loved that coffee table. It was a wedding gift from Nia and Brainy.
“I knew it,” Andrea whispers, her grip slackens around the hero's throat. She stands up slowly, as if afraid that if she moved too fast Lena would disappear. She leaves Supergirl gasping on the floor; materializes in front of Lena in a cloud of black smoke.
“I knew it. I knew it. I knew it.” She sobs into Lena’s blouse, arms wrapped tightly around her. Lena embraces her on instinct, her eyes closing briefly, before opening up again to check on Kara dusting herself off.
“Andrea,” Lena croaks, “you can’t tell anyone.”
You can’t tell anyone I’m alive. You can’t tell anyone how I tricked Lex, how I saved Supergirl, how I saved National City.
“Nobody will know,” Andrea promises her.
******
There is a cottage by the woods that nobody else sees, where every Sunday a blonde woman rips apart pieces of wood with her bare hands, where a pale woman with even paler hands grows crops from the barren earth within seconds, where the closet hides cities instead of clothes, where a dead woman and a hero spend their lives in bliss.
******
It has been ten years, her hair is more gray than blonde now, her skin more wrinkled than smooth, her hearing though? Her hearing is still better than ever. And it has been ten years since she’s heard that tell-tale whoosh of a cape, it’s been a decade and still, the sound brings her the same thrill, the same adrenaline.
“To what do I owe the pleasure, Supergirl? Or should I say, Superwoman, now?”
And oh-
She did not come alone.
Lena Luthor is set gently down on the balcony.
If Cat Grant wasn’t Cat Grant, she’s sure she would’ve already suffered a heart attack from the mere sight of a woman long dead standing breathing and alive in her home. She would’ve shrieked and demanded answers.
“I need a favor,” Kara tells her, stalking closer, hand on her hip. Cat would’ve laughed at that if this were some other time. No need to play the intimidating game with me, Kiera, she would’ve said.
“What is it?”
“I need you to break a story,” she tells her. “You, Cat. I want you, and nobody else to cover this.”
Cat raises her brow at that, she already has an inkling as to what the story might be about.
“A story hmm? This better be good, if I’m to come out of retirement for it.”
This time it’s Lena Luthor who speaks. Cat has been dying to hear what she has to say.
“It’ll be good," she promises her, "It’ll be better than good."
Kara crowds closer to Lena, then; wraps a protective arm on her waist. Cat watches frozen as Lena's index finger lights in flame. What a sight they make.
"You’ll be telling the entire world the last Luthor’s secret.”

Here’s a little snippet of my new ficcc
Warnings: transphobia, sexism, period talk, cursing, 13 year olds talking about genitals 😭, this is basically just k-12 except it’s a r insert
4k+ words
@jeonkio05 won 😣
It can wait.'
Was it Willy or Layla?
That's a lie." Henry said before scoffing.
"No…” They both said in unison, so I channeled my powers and I opened the machine with my telekenisis.

Hey! Can I request Frat boy Jaehyun and innocent y/n with strict parents so Jaehyun has to sneak in her window ;)
enjoy bb <3333
it's little suggestive with the words i use, but no nsfw. just an intense make out scene!
“pst!” knock. “oi!” knock.
you were going to kill this man if you weren't so smitten with him.
you're used to the dark already, used to things falling down in the middle of the night as you grope your way through to the window which already suffered a round of broken glass and a sheepish apology from the boy below.
"what do you want?!" you hiss through your teeth, fingers clenching and unclenching on the sill of the window.
you're ready to give him another mouthful of whispered profanities and curses, but your moment of rage is interrupted by a thud downstairs, paired with the shuffling of your parents' slippers against the wooden floor.
you cringe, immediately gesturing to jaehyun that he should hide in the bushes. your heart is pumping, feeling tense all of a sudden when a knock snaps you out of your stupor.
"(y/n)? you okay in there?" the grass below lights up from the switched-on living room light, heaving a quick sigh of relief that jaehyun's already found a hiding spot.
in a rush, you close the window, standing like a deer caught in headlights as the door creaks open.
"you wouldn't happen to have heard something downstairs, would you?" your mom raises an eyebrow at your stiff posture, mouth hanging open to your body blocking the moonlight from seeping in.
"uhh... no. nothing at all," your finger dances along a surface, mimicking how you'd do it to jaehyun's face below bleachers and in janitor closets.
you swallow at it, cowering under your mother's glare until she slowly closes the door. once her footsteps fade, you let out a sigh, instantly turning around to come face to face with jaehyun's knees resting on the flimsy plastic of a windowsill.
you've mastered the skill of stifling your shouts and laughter when you're alone in your room, but this time, jaehyun's features are what catch you off guard, causing you to let out a noise of surprise.
"shut the fuck up and hide under my bed," you prompt, already hearing the familiar set of footsteps and the creak of the wooden floor under your mom's slippers. this time, however, it was your dad that checked up on you.
"you good, honey?" he frowns, thankfully a tad bit more lenient as compared to your mom. you nod, faking a yawn badly before pulling your duvet over your body.
your nods are brief and brisk, want nothing more but to hold the boy below your bed.
"goodnight, (y/n). sleep, you have an early morning tomorrow."
you inwardly groan at the events happening tomorrow, thinking back to the detention that jaehyun managed to get you in. your parents were not too happy, having your clean record stained by a stupid mistake you didn't even admit to your parents.
with a lame excuse, your parents assumed you struck up trouble in class, no less than by a boy and his dirty tricks of making out in every room you could think of.
said boy was peeking out of your bed by then, a cheeky smile spread across his face while he weaves himself out of the space.
"hi-"
his greeting is cut off by the stuffed toy dangling from your grasp, lifted up in warning.
"baby, c'mon, you know it was an accident-" you roll your eyes.
"yeah? how am i going to explain another broken window if you happened to smash it again? my parents are gonna be on my ass even more now that i." smack. "need." smack. "to." smack. "go." smack. "to." smack. "detention!"
steam is coming out of your ears in jaehyun's eyes, but he pays it no mind as he takes your hands into his. the gesture makes you forget your anger just a little, mustering up the best puppy dog eyes he can manage before speaking.
"i'm sorry, (y/n)," jaehyun pouts, voice and words spilling from his lips felt like velvet against your skin. it felt smooth with a bit of raspiness, something you realise only comes out when he's whispering.
you're glad he mostly does it to you.
whether it's behind the school or in the bathroom, his lips that brush over your ears always know what to say, before he leaves your person burning or your body wanting more.
you should be ashamed, with how much jaehyun affects you.
in a blur of passion and need, you mutter out something under your breath; even you can't believe the words that leave your mouth in that moment.
"can we... kiss first...? talk later..." your words are lost in jaehyun's mouth when his mouth meets yours hungrily, shivering from how much your body reacts to him while you press into him.
"babe, wait- wait," he pushes you back reluctantly, "you sure you want this?"
jaehyun asks carefully, and your blissed out face is enough to kiss you again with no room left to breathe. he holds back for your sake.
"my head is telling me no, jung jaehyun. but you drive me crazy," you mumble, playing lazily with the hair on his nape, "but also, let's not go all the way tonight. i'd like to be awake for the detention you got me in."
the other tenses at your mention of detention, but it's clear you're far from furious like before as your smile widens.
jaehyun's laugh sends butterflies through your stomach. he meets you halfway yet again, taking your lips so skillfully you're a little embarrassed at your own experiences.
the first time he had you wrapped around his finger was months ago. in shared breaths, you expressed your lack of lip-locking like you've seen in movies, no doubt questioning whether jaehyun was even the right person to give your first kiss to.
but like always, your body betrays you, reacting like a mimosa to how his hands roamed over your body. you've sworn your first kiss to him when he calls you pretty girl, and when he asks gently if he can kiss you and when he adjusts to your inexperienced movements so fast.
it gives you whiplash how much you're infatuated with him.
you wouldn't call it love just yet, but the intrusive thoughts leave your brain when jaehyun brings you back to the present, tilting his head more and more to get deeper. he prods at your lips with his tongue, desperate to feel all of you as your leg swings over his hips.
jaehyun smiles against your lips at that, and even more when his cold hands sneak under your t-shirt to caress your back.
"you drive me crazy, too, pretty girl," he purrs out the pet name. you suck in a breath as you stare down at his eyes, trained and fixated on you like you to him. tomorrow, you'd deal with everything, from detention to your pushy parents.
for now? well...
"you're stunning." is all he says before your lips connect again.
for now, you should be ashamed, with how much jaehyun affects you, but you can't bring yourself to be when all you know are jaehyun's cherry chapstick lips on yours and his curious hands over your blazing skin.
