how did u get into editing/streaming? what’s ur influencer origin story ^_^

for some reason i liked the idea of constructing videos as a kid, i cracked software like camtasia and got the basics pretty quick, knew i could do funny shite using sony vegas instead of do highschool oral presentations because teachers would get bored at kids talking

i wanted a reason to rewatch some game grumps series so i made a channel where i compiled stuff and i think i learned a lot of the timing skills then.

i wanted clint stevens to have a channel like reckful's and i also wanted to feel useful on a grander scale (in a way that thousands of people could watch) and i really liked clint so i told him i'd run his shit and get good at that. i wanted to make videos thatb felt like reckful's + the one narcissawright video "I am not Siglemic." so i wanted to mix the jokes and the banter and the drama with the fails and the successes of the game. i think that was new, i mightve been a good part in creating this style but i dont wanna get ahead of myself

whatever. anyway i got hired by cold ones cuz they needed an editor and scott's roommate really liked clint so they flew me out. i built some following on twitter with the help of cold ones and clint editing recognition, ludwig engaging with my shit, and i guess a lot of little influencers finding me funny (most of them knowing me from clint honestly cuz they liked how the channel was operated).

i had always streamed since after highschool but it popped off once i came back to canada during covid when i made friends in the streaming universe. once i got my initial push i just kept tweeting things i found funny and blablabla.

like qt (the person inviting me to all these events) knows me from clint and then thought i was chill form my twitch clips

favorite thing about them: His lore is Really Fucking Cool and i think it’s interesting that it culminates into just...a Regular Dude. Like if you forget all the lore and stuff he really is just, a regular guy and it’s kind of funny? other than that uh, i really love his design. so so good. his spells are also great.

least favorite thing about them: I swear to god if Sega makes him into an even more braindead 4 year old in the next game i’m gonna strangle the writer b/c right now that’s my LEAST favorite thing when early on he really just came across as a bored teenager and now he’s like, a baby, like COME on

nOTP: i used to see this a lot but i fucking hate SigLem mostly because Sig doesn’t like Lemres i’m just like holy shit this so so weird 3 i don’t respect any of you people.

random headcanon: i think Sig has this thing where like, he seeks out being alone just because it’s what he’s used to, even though deep down he wants to connect more with his friends but he struggles to do that b/c understanding his own feelings is... difficult. He can’t really put his emotions into words most of the time and doesn’t really understand how he feels about stuff unless it’s super strong, like he can identify when he loves something or hates something but struggles with the stuff in between. LIKE i guess unlike Aya whose identity is sort of built around struggling to reclaim her PAST identity Sig’s is more finding out who he IS in the PRESENT time and being okay with connecting with people because understanding people isn’t an endgoal it’s something you are CONSTANTLY working towards because of how complex people are and  (rambling)

unpopular opinion: is it still unpopular to say that i like his english dub voice more than his japanese. like i think people have generally changed their attitudes but i know some people still prefer his jp because it’s like, cuter, but the fact that it’s “cute” and sounds very baby-ish turns me off a lot when he’s like...a teenager...

Speedruns for fun and entertainment

So, because of watching GDQ with the folks at @kinkygamers​, we got on the topic of what makes a really good speedrun.

Generally speaking, within my experience, there are three groups of tactics for speedruns.  There are skill and execution speedruns, there are runs which focus on optimization of movement and minimizing load/wait times, and there are runs that focus on glitching the game and manipulating in game mechanics.  Many runs incorporate elements of all of these, and most of the marathon runs are amazing to look at in some capacity or another.

Porque “Cosmo”?

Wa a platicar la historia de porque elegi el nickname Cosmo.

-Todo se remonta mas o menos a mediados de 2014 mas o menos, comenzo un gusto por speedruns (esa historia esta aqui tambien por cierto) y pues habia un speedrunner llamado “Cosmo Wright” y pues lo mamaba a ese wey porque era un pro en esa madre, y pues un dia en un torneo de smash en noviembre (creo) participe y pues era mi primer torneo de smash al que iba, y al pagar la entrada y todo me piden mi nombre y dije nah no quiero dar mi nombre, entonces tenia que pensar en uno rapido (estuve a punto de decir Siglemic o Sigler) pero al final me decidi por Cosmo, ese torneo lo gane y pues los batitos de ahi como de “ah el cosmo we , no que el cosmo” y pues asi empezo ese pedo, luego segui llendo a mas torneos y la comunidad me empezo a identificar como Cosmo y de ahi en adelante es como que “ah que el cosmo y la madre” y asi.
