I love the look on Sevika’s face when she genuinely doesn’t understand what Vi is talking about.
Is someone keeping her? Are you really talking about Jinx?
Her eyes just say, "Girl, listen, I would gladly give half my monthly salary so that Silco would keep Jinx somewhere in the basement on a leash and my eyes would never see her again, but to my regret, the Princess of Zaun, as the boss’s precious daughter, gallops through the streets of Undercity like a frisky doe through the Alpine meadows and causes me so much trouble that you can’t even imagine"

When those super Anti-Silco people talk about how scary, abusive and controlling Silco is with Jinx, but the only time we see him try to discipline her she flat out laughs in his face.
Suggesting she hasn’t been disciplined enough. Even when she goes out and murders and commits terrorism.
He is a bad parent, just not in the way you think he is lmao.

Why's this remind me of them. Like if silco raised powder, I could dead ass see this happening. Jinx is a lil gremlin from birth 100%
LIKE ENFJEKEKWK
Silco: *giving little jinx a bath.*
Little jinx: *starts chugging bath water everytime silco turns around.*
Sevika: *watching her single dad boss trying to keep his child from chugging bath water*

Excerpt: Emptied Spaces
Vi recalls her first nights as a new recruit to Zaun.
From a work in progress set after 'heron blue,' an AU where Vi and Jinx reconnect under different terms. Slow, rocky relationship rebuilding, found family messiness, and hurt/comfort abound.
Tumblr media
A series of tinny pricks muddle the air.
"He's not all bad, you know," her sister mumbles.
Vi presses her nails into her palm.
In her mind's eye, a litany of refusals.
She sees the stairs down to the storeroom—their old room—that she'd found boarded up, paint streaked over the walls: a glaring, caution-taped denial to any who dared to enter. She sees Jinx slumped at the bar, dotting black varnish on her nails, flippant as anything to Vi's tight-mouthed questions of what had happened to their things; if there was anything left.
Just ghouls and ghosts, Jinx had said, in an accent not her own, and shot a whip-fire glare through her fringe. Then she'd grinned, cold and feline. Droused on, Key's in Silky's desk, if you care that much.
Like that room was nothing more than an ill memory, to her. Her and Vi's things. Mylo and Claggor's things. Mom and Dad's things. Vander's—
Like all of it wasn't theirs, anymore.
(Never had been.)
They had new rooms, now—ones of their own, only paces down that dark-lamped hall from each other.
Just days prior, that rat had dangled hers in front of her, in some twisted attempt at an olive branch.
It had ridiculous wallpaper and jade-tinted windows; furnishings absurdly ornate, for all their simplicity; shelves upon shelves filled with books she'd never read. They'd given her a bed with smuggled silk sheets and feathered pillows—the kind any Fissure brat in their right mind would dive into, relishing in the best sleep they'd had in years. A luxury all of them deserved.
Her own room. A real, proper room.
Not four walls and a cot.
(Not a room with Powder.)
In silence, that bastard had stood behind her: smoke and spice on his clothes, a chill like an autumn sea seeping off his bones. The shadow of his suit had lingered in her periphery, unnervingly still. Spindly hands folded at his back; too-clean shoes canted, unmoving.
Will it suffice? he'd graveled, eventually.
Vi'd fought down the urge to scoff.
Suffice.
As if he couldn't give a damn that he'd paid for it all on the backs of children carting industry wares as much as vials of liquid death; hadn't taken up his keep in their home, Vander's home—claimed the damned thing unrightfully as his own—and now had carved out a pathetic share to toss back to her.
Vi'd found her voice. Our old room was fine.
Hands ticking at his back. If you'd prefer to sleep on the boxes, then be my guest.
She said you emptied it.
Silence ebbing, knifing. A heaviness had snared around his bones: the kind that had rage smelting around it, slow-simmered and tightly leashed: one that set the hairs on her nape rising.
In it was an image. A memory he wouldn't give her the privilege to share.
She didn't want to picture it.
Powder, eleven years old, bruises on her cheek, standing alone in the center of that storeroom.
Powder, frozen, for minutes or hours or ages—a tattered bunny squeezed between her hands, blood still on her clothes—before the screams finally tore their way out of her.
She didn't want to picture it—but the thought had itched within her, like a virus. She couldn't blink it out.
It's been emptied enough, Silco had answered her: a slither of a hiss. His mismatched stare had veered away, notched to an unseen point in the wall.
Under your orders? Vi'd pressed on.
Another tick of his fingers.
He'd known they'd already spoken about it. That she was aware, by then, that it was Powder—Jinx—who wanted nothing to do with that room: who couldn't sleep in it, couldn't stand to be in it; could only hover at the foot of those stairs, boots welded through the floor, every time this shark-skinned thing offered for her to go through her belongings and do with the space as she wished.
A denial Vi couldn't grapple with had pooled nauseously in her. One he'd had no qualms in laying out to dry.
I will remind you, Silco had said, placid for all its venom, once, by whose request you are here. And he'd stared her down, like a beast waiting to strike: head tilted, eyes inhuman: chloroform polluting the sea-foam of the living one, magma igniting the ore of the dead.
Nothing but a dull indifference. Bemusement glazed beneath a fanged snarl.
He didn't see her as a threat, she'd realized. Not as mirrored strength to be wary of, the way Vander had.
In the path of his leering, she felt like a child. A gutless, gut-twisted kid.
Like a pair of boxing gloves squeezed shamefully behind her back, and her father's glare simmering above her, a finger lifted slowly between them—Don't you leave her alone, again.
In his image, the words twisted. A different voice. A dead eye. A threat that bastard didn't need to speak.
She'd heard it, all the same.
Give her one reason to regret that choice, and I will see you out, myself.
"Y'know what's funny?" Jinx says, plucking another piece of metal off her knee. Vi's fingers stutter around her hair. "You've got way more in common than you think. Little spit-fire peas in a pod, really—all Zaun this, Fissurefolk that—No pickles in the stew, Jinx; No bombs in the basement, Birdie-blue." Her sister pitters into a snort, piranha-teeth gleam over the shoulder. "It's bonkers. Like I've got two of ya, now."
And Vi pictures him occupying a similar space in this bar, this room, in her sister's own head. Pictures, dreads, refuses the thought of him toiling over a stove, with little Powder's fingertips peeking against the counter: of him standing bland and impatient in the glittering eaves of a Piltie tailor, wrinkling his brow at the colors this girl insisted on piecing together; of him waking to her tear-muddled face at ungodly hours of the morning, as Vi had done so many years before, and groggily flipping back the sheets; of holding her, at all, in a space that never should have been emptied, in the first place.
The thought curdles in her throat.
Six years—nearly seven, now.
Now, her sister speaks about Powder like a dead self. She spends her free hours dancing around that monster's desk. She has nightmares more vile that the ones Vi remembers, that made voices crawl from the walls, the kind that said the nights would never end and that none of them would ever come back, never come back again (and Mom and Dad never did, and Vander was taken from them)—
And still.
Still, after all of it—after those terrors would send her panicked and shaken into the hall, with Vi's door already cracked and waiting; after the years Vi had cared for her, reassured her, done her best to be the lovely softness that their mother was, that she feared she could never be—Jinx would go to him, first.
Vi squeezes her eyes shut.
Slowly, the comb picks through another tangle.
"Two of us, huh?" she mutters, a fire in her chest—and denies it.

rereading parts of "take your pretty smile, tell them everything's fine." (the jhinhwei scene) and god damn it i m baffled at my own writing??
aka if nobody writes long ass analysis of my fanfic i ll do it myself xD (tw for very much sexual grooming, underage relationship, pseudoincest, i mean its Jhin lol)
i forgot the details and now i m rereading it and i lose my sanity one bit at a time. its so obvious how unhealthy their relationship is, i think its also one of the chapters that really brings out just how young hwei is and in a lot of ways their conversation feels like a talk between a parent and a child, both struggling to let go of each other.
and this is a turning point to an extent, if jhin was a better man he would ve rejected hwei, encouraged the boy to pursue kayn and start developing some sense of independence. but he doesn't do it, instead, he dives right in and makes his dependency worse. Instead of reassuring Hwei that he is alright, that Jhin loves him but that he doesn't care about the kind of sex he is having with his boyfriend Jhin makes clear that he cares, indulges Hwei's desire for him to do so, draws an obvious parallel between the bite kayn left and the scar he cut into him a few months ago.
And what makes this whole thing "worse" imo in that in a scene that is very much smut we also get their first actual conversation about what they are,
Hwei: “You are more of a father, or brother, or friend than I ever had.” Jhin: “You are the only son I will ever have.”
and then in the middle of making out, hwei calls jhin "dad" for the first time, and i think its then that Jhin actually realises the power he holds over this child of his.
like, jhin never planned to be a father for hwei, he never planned to raise a child, he was totally unprepared for the traumatised special needs kid he took in. he had no idea what was going on, just thought that this immensely talented baby artist will never have a chance to bloom if he doesn't get him out of the soul-crushing environment. so he does, their relationship grows, he realises that he begins to love this child, that he wants to give him the world, wants him to be happy.
but now, in the middle of making out with Hwei, he suddenly realises that this isn't right, that if he loves Hwei then he needs to at least give him the space to think this through, show him that he can love him without needing his body for it.
“Let me show you how much I adore you.”  Jhin moved up, took his hands and gently placed them to his side, smiling almost shyly. “Will you let me?”
and when Hwei agrees, fully expecting to just have emotional sex, Jhin stops. and i m so not okay with this, i didn't even expect this to happen, i thought it would just be a chapter focused on them having hot sex.
like jhin totally crossed the line, but he allows Hwei to step back and reassures his baby boy that he ll love him no matter what he chooses :(((

Jinx & the Hound dark AU...
I was talking to a commenter on F&D, and was struck by an AU idea I then discussed over on discord and... I just wanna share, because I'm not going to write it :
Tumblr media
Episode 3's ending changes a little:
Silco flees, Vi is still taken by Marcus unbeknownst to Powder, Claggor and Mylo are dead... But the shimmer saves Vander's life, and he regains his (mostly) normal form.
He takes Powder home.
Now, they're both dealing with this very poorly. Overwhelmed dad Vander grieving his friend, his three kids, trying to handle Jinx's fraying sanity... It's rough.
He starts projecting Vi on her, because he's only got Jinx left now, and the way he handled Vi is really the best way he knows. Besides, it makes sense to teach Powder how to fight, right? Because she HAS to survive, she's all that Vander has left. She has to know how to protect herself.
Meanwhile Jinx is projecting and trying to both be her sister and outdo her. She has big shoes to fill.
Now this Vander would be darker. He's learnt his lesson too, at the hands of Silco. The Hound is what they truly need, so the Hound is what they'll get. After a while, he starts hunting Silco down, sending people after him.
Can't have a threat like that running around, and Silco proved he's willing to go after his kids.
Years pass. 2, then 3, then 4. Finally, Ekko tracks down information via an ex-convict that Vi was in prison all this time. Vander grabs Marcus off the streets and "convinces" him it's in his best interest to release his daughter from Stillwater. Like, yesterday.
But you see... You see, all this time, Marcus was still owning his position to Silco. He's sheriff because Silco helped, and Silco didn't rat him out. All this time Marcus worked alongside Vander, but Silco secretly had him by the balls.
Now Marcus has to fess up : Vi was released from Stillwater 2 years ago. Into Silco's care.
And this is where we get even darker (but it's ok, no one can accuse me of being a Silco hater lmao). Because Silco didn't have Vi freed to gain goodwill from Vander or anything like that. No.
For the first couple of years, Marcus tells Vi how Vander is growing increasingly violent in Zaun. The new arrivals in Stillwater definitely corroborate this. He also tells her that he refuses to trade for Vi. That he's replaced her with her sister.
After a couple of years of this, Silco freeing her would cast him into a saviour's light, but it's hardly enough for Vi to trust him, after he killed Benzo and created the incident that sparked her brothers' death. [Mind you, Vi has had a couple terrible years to cook in her cell, and she's deep into blaming herself. If she hadn't brought them, if she hadn't done the job, if she hadn't—]
But hey, it's fine, Silco only has to take Vi down to Zaun, to witness for herself how the Hound is back, and how Jinx has turned into this violent, bomb loving bruiser, with a single braid and half her head shaved, her name at the top of the score board in the old game room...
WORSE, Vi could try to reach out to "Powder". Vi wouldn't know about her ghosts, and Jinx, fearing nothing more than Vi's "return", that would take Vander's attention away from her again, reacts very poorly. And I mean, she fully believes this Vi is a ghost/vision, not her real sister. But the idea alone freaks her out completely.
She screams at Vi to fuck off, that she can't take Vander from her again.
Vi returns to Silco, devastated, and the two of them ship off to Noxus to regroup/use his contacts/be mercs or whatever.
Time goes on and neither Jinx nor Vander realise this interaction happened "for real". By the time Vander learns the truth from Marcus, it's far too late.
While in Noxus, Vi and Silco were tracked down by the assassins Vander set on Silco's tail, further solidifying the antagonism against "the Hound".
Of course Vander didn't know Vi was with Silco when he ordered him killed. And Silco might have gotten Vi because she was the perfect tool and would hurt Vander more than anything when turned on him, but he grows to love her as a daughter too.
How fucked up of a family reunion would that be, when Vi and Silco deem their new plan ready enough to return to Piltover?
You know what, I have no idea. Please feel free to reblog or comment with suggestions and finish up the thing. Heck, feel free to write the AU.

Masterlist
Silco met you after he met Jinx. You were small, scarily so, not so surprising for children in the Lanes. You were a thief, nearly too quick for him to see as he travels through the depths of Zaun, though once he did, you were his forever.
Silco doesn't give off the vibes of a father, but he's a damn good one. He whisks you away from your old life, offering you one filled with warm meals, nice clothing, a family who cares for you. He's patient as you slowly come out of your shell, knowing it's a big adjustment for you.
Silco cares about you, and surprisingly, likes doing the fatherly things for you and Jinx. He cuts up pieces of food for you, reads books to you to help you sleep, plays all the childish games with you and Jinx, no matter how embarrassing they are. He wants to give both of you a good childhood, at least as good as a childhood can get in Zaun.
Speaking of Jinx, it takes her a while to warm up to you when Silco brings you home. She has this idea that you're going to replace her, mostly due to her very traumatic childhood. After getting to know you better, she quickly becomes your best friend. Before she moves her room, you and Jinx share a room. You play games together, build little trinkets together, become seemingly real siblings.
Both Silco and Jinx share an intense sense of protection over you. They know you can handle yourself, being a child of Zaun an all, but they can't help but believe everyone and everything is out to get you. Silco makes sure you are far away from his work as humanly possible, forbidding you from even coming into his office at time. Jinx will make you bombs and weapons to protect yourself, most of which Silco confiscates as they are extremely lethal.
As you both get older, Silco grows to miss when you were young, when you didn't have so many questions about his possessiveness over you. He misses when he would watch you color on his desk, still keeping those drawings to this day. He misses when he would eat dinner with his children, now too busy running Zaun to spend some days with you. But most of all, he misses being close with you. When you were little, you shared everything with him, your crushes, your bullies. You quickly realized Silco was getting rid of anyone who got too close to you, and as you got older, your walls began to grow. You still cared for your sister and the man who raised you, but it was obvious you were aware of their unhealthy obsession.
While Silco is much more subtle in his obsession, Jinx was not. As she got older and grew more unhinged, she openly talked about killing people who were your "friends." She switches between begging you not to leave them, hugging you tightly, to threatening to break your legs if you even dare leave your rooms. You try and tell Silco about it, but he chalks it up to sibling behavior.
When the times comes for Silco to make a deal with Piltover by sending away Jinx, he wants to cry when you offer to take the blame for her. You explain how everything would go, you could say you were attempting to impersonate Jinx in order to not get caught, Silco stopping you before you could get halfway through your spiel. Silco refuses to sacrifice any of his children in order to achieve his dream. You and Jinx are integral to that dream, and he refuses to lose either of you.

Jinx would’ve been riddled with nightmares when she first went to live with Silco. She would’ve had crying fits, breakdowns, and tantrums galore.
She would not have been easy, those first few months- the first year even. Yet Silco still watched over her. He would’ve comforted her when she was scared, would’ve consoled her as she cried and screamed and kicked and wailed.
Every time I remember that, I’m reminded of how thoroughly Silco loved Jinx. He had nothing to gain from taking her in, nothing to lose by casting her out. But he stuck through her at her worst, and did his best to raise her out of it.

Fem Reader is another adopted kid silco took in (because young jinx insisted on it). The two are super close and deeply care for each other. During the statue scene she tells silco she'll offer herself up and take full blame for jinx if it means her sis stays safe and free. This way zaun is free, jinx is safe, and her dad finally gets his biggest wish. This is enough for silco to basically go "fuck that. You are my children and I will not give either of you away. Not even for Zaun. We'll think of something but I refuse to sacrifice either of you." And Jinx overhears all this.
the statue scene is when silco’s talking to vander’s statue, right? lol, my memory sucks…

“is there anything so undoing as a daughter?” silco’d asked as he took a sip of alcohol. you’d peeked your head out of the shadows as you listened to your adoptive father’s conversation with vander’s statue, knowing what you had to do. “dad,” you said as you walked up to him, your hands swaying by your side. silco immediately turned to you, slightly startled. “Y/N.” you took a deep breath. “i’ll do it.” “what?” “i- i’ll offer myself to the enforcers, so that jinx will be safe and-” you were only halfway through your sentence when silco started shaking his head, standing up, but you didn’t notice as your eyes were closed and your head was down. “-and then zaun is free and you’ll have your biggest wish and-” “No.” at this you looked up, staring your adoptive father in the eyes. “but-” “No. i am not giving either of my children away, not even for zaun. i’ll figure something out but i am not losing you or jinx.” you stood there for a moment, unsure what to say before you tackled silco in a hug, almost knocking him over. he flinched, but hugged you back. neither of you noticed your blue-haired sister hiding in the shadows, having heard everything. ☽ 【┘】 ☾ "jiiinnnnxx,,” you dragged out your sister’s name as you called her, your feet dragging behind you as you entered her “lair”. however, the place was empty, much to your surprise. you looked around, making sure she wasn’t hiding to scare you as she’d done so many times before. “jinx?” which is when you noticed the note scribbled on the desk. “ not letting you sacrifice yourself for me n dad. luv you, tell dad i love him too ꨄ ” you cursed and ran out of the room, running as fast as you could all the way to the bridge connecting zaun and piltover. after reaching the bridge you immediately spotted jinx’s bright blue braided hair, and the enforcers surrounding her with their guns raised. “JINX!!” you yelled out, catching jinx’s attention as she turned to you, her eyes widening. “WAIT!!” you yelled out, coming in between jinx and the enforcers, half of whom now had their guns trained on you. “wait, she’s-” “Y/N, no-” “she’s just covering for me,” you spat out, still panting heavily from the long run. “it was me. i did everything. jinx was innocent, she did nothing wrong. she’s just covering.” and that was all the enforcers needed to hear. they handcuffed you and forced you away from jinx, dragging you toward piltover. you looked back at jinx with tears in your eyes, giving your sister one last smile.
