An Official Statement from Willington Palace: HM Queen Diana and HRH Prince Gerhard Announce the Birth of Their Second Child

TRH Grand Duke and Duchess of Sage gave birth to a healthy baby girl! The newest addition to the Royal family was in the early morning at the Willington Palace Medical Center which has recently been revamped. The birth went extremely well with no complications. The Grand Duke and Prince Parker were present for the birth.

HRH Princess Mia Lotte Winston De Geloes, Duchess of Sage

Princess Mia's name was chosen to honor two legendary women in the Royal family. The first being Mia's grandmother, the late Queen Margaret. The "M" in her name is meant to pay homage to Diana's mother. The "ia" in Mia is meant to honor the very first Queen of SimDonia - the late Queen Ophelia. The Queen remembers her grandmother and mother through her daughter.

Lotte is a traditional Simovian name to embrace Prince Gerhard's side. While her official last name (much like the Queen's) does not include her father's last name, she will be referred by both Winston and De Geloes.

The Princess' nursery was decorated by the same interior designer to help with Willington Palaces' major renovation. Various shade of pink and white are used throughout the room. Many toys and furniture have been based down from other family members.

So far, Princess Mia has met her uncle and aunt, King Brother Spencer and Queen Sister Elizabeth. The two will join Queen Diana and family to Simovia shortly after Winterfest where they will celebrate the Queen's birthday!

Photos shared include an all-pink picture of the new couple with baby Mia and a Winterfest photo with the whole family!

creation & ideation

thank you, @armoricaroyalty for creating space for kindness in the community. It's needed and appreciated more than you realize.

the people

in so many ways, my goal was to build community this year. oddly enough, i limited that experience to just in-person, forgetting (and sometimes neglecting) the community built here. community that cares for and contributes to my story and my person. so, thank you to those people, you know who you are.

i want to give a special shoutout to @armoricaroyalty again for affirming for me that community comes in many forms and has many tethers. time spent on discord has made life and my story better. thank you.

What stories (on simblr or otherwise) have inspired yours?

Sorry it took me so long to get to this. I wanted to think on it a bit.

For stories and people who have inspired my specific projects on simblr I would say first @budgie2budgie’s History Challenge and Rotational Play were very impactful to me when I first read them. Especially in terms of design, setting scenes, and what can be done within the sims 4. 

Then next I just have to mention Kia, @digital-deluxe.  Erudition is probably one of my very favorite sim stories and she directly inspired me to do a royal blog when she made her modern version. I did have other friends in the royal community of course before I joined but I gotta give her that credit.

@simoviacourt is another that inspired a lot of what I wanted to do with my royal story. I think she does a really good job integrating world building into interesting storylines that go beyond the interpersonal relationships and royal events. As someone who also has a bit of a world building addiction that made the royal thing more appealing to me even though I’m intensely anti-monarchist. 

@xldkx‘s Papercuts for like everything it is. I love the interpersonal relationships and consistency in her characterizations of everyone. Also Nik has just been very supportive, especially in terms of my pose making and other skill up projects. Even going so far as telling me to stop putting myself down when I shit on my own work. I tend to be kind of self-depreciating at times. Been trying to be better.

And finally cause this is getting long I’m going to end things with @quiddity-jones’ Codex Files because it definitely inspires me to tip further into the weird and more scifi/fantasy elements I tend to like to incorporate into my stories. 

There are like so many more too. These are just ones that have had a direct impact on how I tell a story and what stories I’m telling now. 

As far as outside of simblr goes we’ll keep it simple and just say I think it’s obvious I watch anime if you read anything I have done. I also enjoy science fiction, comic books (xmen), and any fantasy that has even the slightest bit of world building for my brain to latch on to.

What language do the characters in your country speak, and are there any other languages that your characters interact with?

Well hello, thanks for the question. <3

My isles do have their own local language, called Sorori. There used to be a wide range of related dialects, especially in Apricus because of the mountains and hillsides there causing more separation between people groups. The wide acceptance of mass media has really changed this though. The first radio shows came out of Fiedeli in the form of Temple broadcasts so most people conform to the dialect that was most commonly spoken there. That being said there are occasional differences in common words between people groups, like Viridi call their grandparents "Nani" and "Non" whereas in Apricus they prefer the terms "Granmata" or "Granpata."

As for other languages, most of the upper class can speak Simlish, the "Simerican" style because the set of International Schools that specialize in teaching it were founded in the name of former Prince Bastian's beloved wife Princess Daphne, who was a Simerican waitress he met while snowboarding abroad.

The isles also have a very strong historical connection to the Kingdom of Atrea and with its sister country Sulani in particular. Even in modern times it's not uncommon for members of both countries to intermarry so many of the multilingual households in the isles speak Sorori or Atrean dialects as their main language.

Beyond that it just kind of depends on the family and what individual connections they may have to the continental powers. A lot of the Northeastern lords have Simovian origins and kind of pretentiously keep the language alive within their families.

The Prime Minister no one saw coming - but we should have

They said it would never happen and yet here we are with Stijn Caan as our prime minister. A veritable victory for the Party for Free Democracy and a disastrous defeat for the Simovian Social Democrats who lost an agonizing 15 seats in the parliament. Many have blamed the fall of the SSD on the retirement of the former party leader Victor Feng - a move that even Her Royal Majesty allegedly attempted to stop - and the inexperience of the new party leader Quincey Goedenstijn, but we must take a long, hard look in the mirror and admit to ourselves that the rise of Prime Minister Caan was simply a matter of time and we all allowed it to happen. 

Not quite the outsider

Stijn Caan was born in the rural outskirts of the larger Zonneminster metropolis to a fairly well-to-do family. He attended the prestigious van Pruis Academy for boys and graduated with honours in political science from the University of Zonneminster. An intriguing start to life for someone who does his best to profile himself as an outsider to the establishment. In fact, what makes the case of Stijn Caan even more interesting, is that he began his political career as a volunteer in the - yes, you are reading this right - SSD offices. He would have likely gone on to have a perfectly average career as a SSD politician if it had not been for his introduction to a certain Geert Fonteyn, well known for his rather controversial viewpoints on immigration as well as monarchy. Not long after, Caan resigned from the SSD offices and the world - or rather the press - would not hear from the man for over five years. Much has been speculated about this radio silence - Caan himself claims that he spent the time traveling and working abroad at different non-profit organisations - but what we know is that upon his return to public life Caan founded his Party for Free Democracy under Fonteyn’s mentorship and for the past 15 years Caan and his party have made headlines that sell papers on their own, especially in the past year or two.

Who can forget all the - and we are being polite here - colourful statements that our Prime Minister has made? Or the time he posed half naked on a grand piano for a Love Day Simstagram post on the party’s official account? Or that time he showed up in the middle of Zonneminster and gave a rousing hour-long speech in SimLatin? As such it is not surprising that Caan has been made the laughing stock of the Simovian political circuit. However, it would be foolish to assume that these were not all highly calculated acts meant to disarm Caan’s political opposition. If anything, the laughter and disdain have only served Caan’s attempts to brand himself as an outcast all too well. His political opponents did not consider him a serious threat to the status quo until it was far too late.

Faint hope in monarchy

So what are we to do now with a populist prime minister whose policies have already raised concern both in economic circles as well as in political analysts such as myself? Caan and his party have the support of roughly 40% of the nation, and the rest is splintered into different factions. Many are looking to the Queen to act as a balancing factor as the House of Lords is unlikely to block Caan’s financial reforms - and why would they when they benefit the top 1% - but others remain skeptical of the young Queen’s ability to do so. She has yet to show any real political strength in her rule and following the constitutional crisis of last Spring, her approval ratings are still looking grim. As much as Caan would position himself as not a part of the establishment, he has years of experience navigating the circles and I do not doubt that he will find it fairly easy to manage our inexperienced monarch, unless the Queen is able to find herself some strong allies - perhaps a certain Landgraaf whose political stance remains a mystery? 

A lesson to be learned

While we hold our breath and see what Caan’s first months bring to our country, it is a lesson we must take to heart. We must not underestimate any of the players in this game that is being played daily inside - and outside - the parliament, no matter how ridiculous or outlandish they may appear. Their supporters certainly will not find them so, and while we are too occupied in our ivory towers, the likes of Mr. Caan will continue to recruit loyal voters from the groups that we have been ignoring for far too long and letting them do so is a mistake we can not afford a second time around.

EARLY LABOUR POSES

This one is for @simoviacourt ... Don’t you just hate when you can’t find what you need? I kinda jumped at the chance to do it because I did a little search myself and noticed that there wasn’t HEAPS of poses for early labour. Just either pushing the baby out or hospital poses etc. This is kinda the first process.. between OH SHIT my water broke, crying like hell because it hurts, sim having her first contraction and it literally bringing her to her knees. I have so many poses around on my PC that i never released between all my births, pregnancies etc. I even reworked a few old poses because it was just too EASY!

There are 15 poses for your pregnant sims! So be sure to place a x1 teleporter statue in the middle of the desk or chair when using the objects. The desk i used was the one in university. But i’m pretty sure there is a fancy one in the base game that is a similar height to work well!

All sims are different sizes, so I've tried to put the hands on the belly in a good place where it doesn’t clip heaps!

This comes with its own custom icon so its easy to find, and you will need to play these in game, these are not for CAS. You will need Andrew’s Pose Player for these to work well!

Wedding of HIM David I and Miss Katalina Sepulveda | Part 3

First arrival for this group of guests are Duke Emmitt Parker Winston & Duchess Bria Wu-Winston of SimDonia. The Duke arrived in a stunning black military uniform while The Duchess was a pretty picture in pink! This is their first visit to Pierreland and I love them already! @bridgeportbritt

Right behind them is TRH Princess Claire, the Duchess of Asbury and James, the Duke of Asbury looking cute as ever in blue! There seems to be a blue theme going on today! Can I say, I love seeing those two together, they are always so cute and sweet. PLEASE COME BACK TO PIERRELAND! @royalhouseofcarrington

Any who... Right behind them is HM Queen Sofia of Windasia & her cute husband HRH Prince Darien. And can I just say...these two are always so on point. I mean, HM looks stunning with that hat and dress combo and we stan a man who can wear pink and I stan a man who can look as good as his wife everyday of the week! We also have received word that two of their children are in the bridal party and I am excited to see them! @wa-royal-tea

Rounding out our esteemed Guests is HRM Queen Alma of Simovia, His Grace the Landgraaf van Hoensbroek. Ladies and Gents, after this wedding I am jetting off to Simovia to find me my own Landgraaf van Hoensbroek! Also, HRM is looking quite stunning in her green ensemble. She is close friends with the Emperor with sources saying that the two have quite the correspondence going on after bonding as friends at the state visit the Emperor took. Also..whatever is in Simovian water, can we please get some? HRM looks radiant as always, now her daughters are also in the bridal party, I am so excited to see them! they are always so cute! @simoviacourt

Justice for Joseph, Justice for All

Today I break my silence. I must apologize for not speaking sooner but I have always thought it best to consider the full weight of one's words before putting it to prose. No doubt brothers and sisters you have heard the rallying cry from the mouths of our young. We’ve all had it on our minds these past few months while watching our nation succumb to a malaise of malcontent.

A great campaign indeed.  

Make no mistake, the young man in question is as troubled as the government sanctioned papers and blogs would have us believe but what is he troubled by exactly? Well I will tell you plainly: 

It was the loss of his family, his future, and indeed his very identity to the altar of war that troubled this young soul. 

That conflict, an unspeakable horror, put on the powerless public by Princes from their perfect palaces. For what is war other than an argument between such people with much privilege? By the watcher it is said that we were only involved due to the loss of our own monarchs. Gracious people they were, but putting the lives of ten million against two, well… that is just not something we should want to do. And now - now we find ourselves once again with a government calling for peace, for moderation in troubled times, but we all are intimately aware that all it would take is for one loss in the high houses on the hill to make them change their minds. 

Our only hope now rides with our young Queen, who no doubt has been troubled by these memories quite personally. In fact it has not escaped anyone’s notice how little she has been seen among her people since the great loss of her husband. Even now it is not clear where she may be with her older brother acting deputy. A mere cold? No, I say there is more to it. There is a pattern you see. The trauma of the crown is not felt only on the ground by her people but by the monarch herself. 

The system is sick.

It is time for an evaluation of the situation in our nation. Today we ask for justice for Joseph but perhaps tomorrow we call for justice for us all. A justice not just for the one soul but for every adult and child in Simovia and yes -

I mean even our Queen.

The Queen of Simovia arrives in Stafford on historic state visit.

As Her Royal Majesty's yacht arrived at Brindleton Harbour, Their Royal Highnesses The Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Stafford came to greet their foreign guests.

This is the first time a reigning Simovian monarch pays a visit to Stafford. His Royal Highness The Crown Prince, along with the Crown Princess, was delighted to welcome Queen Alma and the Landgraaf van Hoensbroek on Stafford soil.

After all the formalities, Her Royal Majesty and Their Royal Highnesses set off to the country's capital to meet Her Majesty The Queen and the rest of the Royal Family.

Caan: Ah yes, the big one. I want it gone.

Caan: Are you blind man? The big painting right next to you.

Janitor: You... you mean the Queen’s portrait?

Caan: Yes, it needs to be.

Janitor: Uh… Sir, traditionally the Queen’s portrait is displayed at all important government locations. 

Caan: Yeah well I don’t want it in my office. 

Janitor: Sir, no other prime minister has ever asked for the Queen’s portrait to be removed...

Caan: Just do as I asked. I want it gone when I’m back in the afternoon. Oh, and get me a new chair while you’re at it. I don’t understand how Feng managed to get even that little bit of work done on that rickety old thing.

Janitor: I… as you wish, Sir. 

Caan: Good, now go.

Caan: (to himself) If only it was that easy getting rid of the real thing too... but we’ll do what we have to do to make it happen.
