Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

Can't it be both? Realistically this is one of those that just doesn't apply to Sims 2, because almost all of the BG hairs are made of alpha panels & so is the lace on the bottom of the BG silk nightgown. But yes to improved & later-EP Maxis textures.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

If I have a specific outfit I want them in, & the outfit doesn't have a fatmorph or has one that breaks through the top/bottom of the outfit, sure. Until the next time I close the game, at least... adding & fixing fatmorphs is stupid easy, resisting the urge to throw out the clothing & create a whole new wardrobe is very hard. Then I'll cheat it back if I remember the next time I load the game.

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing?

I've actually never said the words "live mode" out loud. I could see both being accurate. aLIVE. Like "go live" in software terms, they are software that is becoming operational. Or LIVing... Build/Buy/Live, as the actions that you as the player are taking in the game. I would probably swap back & forth if I was ever forced to talk about it using the words "live mode".

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

Oh nooo... I don't often make my own Sims, but use premades or recreations of Sims from different games... so... Goopy Gilscarbo.

Have you made a simself?

Yep! Sim-Me helps facilitate photoshoots in games that I'm playing, since my house is located outside of time in terms of the game. (Any unpaused action while there is another playable Sim on the 111 Lifa Lane lot is not saved lol). I also like to play around in my Sim house to figure out redecorating & rearranging ideas for my IRL house.

Which is your favorite EA hair color?

(sarcasm) Piss Yellow. (/sarcasm) For real though I like Pooklet colors.

Favorite life stage?

Everything but Baby. I'm so glad that Baby only lasts a day in the unmodded game, they're little screaming larval annoyances. I love the little mischievous things that the Toddlers can get into, like playing in the toilet, hugging the pets, & stealing bottles from their siblings. I think the Child anims for everyday activities are sooo cute, like when they whip out the step stool to put away dishes or brush their teeth, or sitting on books to play Chess. Teen Wants can be a bit annoying but they're chaotic in a fun way, like sliding down the stair rails & playing on the fridge door. YA is a good age stage even if college is kinda tedious, specifically because they're super resilient & have a ton of freedom & very few responsibilities. Adult, well, that's most of the game, isn't it? If I hated Adults I probably never would've played at all. Elders, even when retired, can be really sweet especially if you have them in close friendships & group homes - it can be pretty chill to hang out in the retirement home lot for an afternoon watching Sims play Myshuno & Mahjong.

I'm more into making neutral & basic things now; I used to be VERY Hot Topic type of vibes. I mean, I still am that way, but most of my Sims are normies because for the most part it doesn't make sense to park Grandpa in the goth club in all of the old ClubCrimsyn outfits, ya know?

There are so many it would be hard to list them all! Just the fact that everyone who currently creates CC is still around making things for this ancient game is amazing to me.

Over 10 years? I think I got on Tumblr in like 2010 or so, & it was specifically to publicly post gameplay pics to a small group of friends.

I crop it in Photoshop & then slap text on it. You've seen my CC preview pics, I'm not doing anything fancy.

Alpha CC or MaxisMatch?

So I had to google what this was because I am Old tm so... bearing in mind I don't play TS4, I think I have to say MaxisMatch? I'm not using a super powerful PC and I don't like my sims looking hyper realistic. That being said, I do use a LOT of cc hair because the textures and colour blending tends to be much better.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Nope! I take them as they come but may slim them down again with the gym when I can.

Do you move objects?

Yeah... I get frustrated when I can't put decorative objects in slots where there's very obviously space for them so I abuse it horribly.

Favourite Mod?

I mean I have a TON but tbh NRaas Story Progression was a total gamechanger back in the day and fixed the shitty EA Story Progression that still doesn't work.

RL Simself Story

Although my belly wasn't really recognizable or big, I was only 5 weeks away from delivery. 😨 And I had to decide! C-section or a normal birth. Due to my panic attacks I was advised to learn to meditate! I should use it during childbirth, to better cope with pain/labor & to avoid panic. Today, N. and I attended a class for couples, where I should learn to relax.... together with him. I was a little confused, because I expected something different. Once there, a nice, little woman entered the room. She was the instructor/coach.

Uncertain as usual, I clung to Nico, as if I wanted to hide. The little woman had me in view. She realized I was insecure. She probably guessed, that N. & I did not feel right here?

Coach: Hi, welcome to my class. Any questions, before we start?

Nico: Hi. No, rn, I don't have questions.

Me: Uhm.. excuse me? Am I the only pregnant here?? 😳

Coach: Idk honey? But my exercises are especially suitable for pregnant women. Pelvic floor exercises. In my class I show you, how you, both benefit from it. You won’t want to stop, promised.😉 But, lets start! Please choose a free place.

N. & I sat on our mat. After the nice woman introduced herself and explained what exactly this is about, I was sure, that this is not, what I thought. She talked about meditation, pregnancy & sex.

Me (to N.): I didn’t know this was about sex too. I just used that coupon, I downloaded. I hope you belive me.

Nico: It's ok babe. Let’s join in & see where it goes.

Me: Yea, let’s see, I didn’t pay for it anyway.

Nico: You paid for that meditation app you downloaded.

Me: Yes, but the app's really for pregnant women!! Meditating will help me during delivery.

Nico: That's what this is, right?

While I was doing a pelvic floor exercise, Nico was supposed to help me, but somehow he was..... distracted by the couple next to us.

Nico: Look at those horny yoga freaks.😄

Me: Huh? Why?....... OH- uh, holy shit! 🫣

Coach: Don’t be disturbed, focus on your partner. Look at each other, feel your bodies, try to breathe at the same pace.. In & out, deeply & slowly...

I took part. I’m not prudish or anything. I was rather worried that I might be too heavy for him.🤣 However, I think it helped me come out of my shell a bit. Also, I gotta say, I.... felt.... something, him! 🤭

I have no idea what got him so excited? I swear I did nothing. As far as meditation is concerned, it wasn't necessary for me! In a few days I will decide on a c- section. 😕🤷‍♀️The cord's wrapped around my baby's neck, his CTG wasn’t perfect. But this was all recognized in time, so that my docs, could plan the c-section. (It wasn’t an emergency)

Hey! Just wanted to ask, you wouldn't happen to know if there's a mod for pronouns? I've seen some threads saying that everything in the game is gendered, so I don't expect any nb pronouns, but I mean like, is there any way to make the game consider a sim with the female build as a man and vice versa?

I did look into this recently, actually! I was really hoping to be able to add this as a part of the RPG Manager, and did look into it, but unfortunately, it's all super hard-coded into the game...

So the only way to be able to make this possible is by basically creating a core-mod for it :/

The only way I can think of that would be able to make this work, is somehow tricking the game that the sim is male/female, but that can also trigger the CAS-code of things to then think that the sim that theoretically has a female body mesh-wise, where it will think it needs to swap it with a male body mesh, due to assigning the gender as male. (as an example of whatever issues we may find when creating such a mod).

In the end, it would have been nice if we had a way to use they/them or she/her, he/him, and such, especially from a more roleplaying perspective (Or simselfs!)

Basic info

I believe I'm much older than most simblrs out there! I played the original Sims way back when, then didn't play any versions until a month into the pandemic for something to do. I've always loved storytelling so this was perfect to rejuvenate my creativity.

I don't really play any other games, to be honest.

I do not have a gaming computer I just play on a laptop. I don't have any fun reshades, only editing I do to my screenshots is cropping and occasionally will brighten them. So they will not be high quality but I enjoy taking them/telling stories anyway.

I'm terrible at CAS but I love to build. I don't know how good I am at it, but I do it for my own amusement anyway. Gallery ID BabblingStacey.

I've had this tumblr for a very long time but only started sharing my gameplay through over the few years - mainly because I kept taking screenshots with nowhere to put them.

My game and blog is LGTBQ+ and BIPOC friendly. If that bothers you, then this is not the simblr you want to follow. I've done Not So Berry (the updated version) in a previous save and started my current legacy with the Chromatic Legacy Challenge but during the 6th gen I decided I wanted to write my own that fits more of the way I like to play. Thank you so much @livingdeadgal128 for tagging me, this was a blast to do! Well... the styling was, lmao. It was fun thinking back on the different styles I've had through the years, and where I'd like to be as I get older. I was hoping for a group picture, but they would NOT cooperate for that, even with autonomy off they'd immediately pop out of their poses.

It was fun thinking about how I was as a toddler and child. As a toddler I was a weird, but girly, super outgoing kid who didn't meet a stranger. Then I was pretty much the same as a child, always wearing Disney shirts and shorts, OR dresses. No in between. Then as a teen I was no longer a tall skinny thing, stopped growing upward and started growing outward which was lame. My outgoing tendencies also swapped out for social avoidance. Then I decided that Hot Topic was the coolest store. Thankfully, I was able to figure out there were stores other than Hot Topic after I graduated. I thought about not doing two YA stages, but, my style for the last couple of years has been my quarantine style. Even when I worked at my last job [gag], my current self is how I dressed at home.

As for how I want to see myself in the future, it isn't a lot different from how I've dressed for the past ten years or so, just maybe a little more refined. I want to get back into taking care of my appearance, like I did before the job that sucked my soul out. All I know is that I want to lose weight, and not lose the comfortable but nice look that I've been going with. Of course, as an elderly lady my clothes will all be covered in cat hair because my transformation to Crazy Old Cat Lady will be complete. But I also 100% know I will be dying my hair, but not any of the typical colors. Fun colors.

I’m still thinking about the fonts in the pictures. Should I swap the font styles around? More quirky for the reblog blog, and more straight (lol) for this blog?

At first my plan was to take pics of my simself for this blog and pics of Greta for @resometownie​, but then I made the mistake of taking a few pictures with both of them and then I couldn’t get the idea out of my head anymore.

You know how a writer always wishes they could meet their characters? Like actually meet them, and see how they would act if they had their own conscience. This is as close to that feeling as it gets. Greta is more than a sim, because Greta the sim is a recreation of an OC of mine. Yes, the sim took on a life of her own, but I still associate the two together.

I tweaked my Simself tonight. And I’m pretty pleased with my new look. You can download my Simself at the gallery here or under my gallery id: livinasimminlife. After two people told me that my real self is thinner, which made me happy to hear, I decided to make my Simself smaller too. Guess that’s just proof that others see you differently than you see yourself. More about mods, cc, and bio stuff below. 

I used Ms. Blue’s Freckled female skin and RemusSirion’s PAGE lipstick. If you want her to look exactly like she does above, you need these mods. 

I wasn’t able to upload my modded self to the gallery so I’ll add any additional mods I’ve used below. I’m constantly tweaking myself, and I’m a fan of switching out outfits so I might upload more outfit changes in the future. 

My Simself bio:  My Simself, Lizzie. She dreams of being a bestselling author. She always tries to look on the bright side of things (cheerful), she can't shut her brain off at night cuz she has a million+1 ideas (creative), though she does have trouble taking action on ideas (either cuz she's lazy or lacks confidence). In my bio it says I’m creative... which I am... but in the actual gameplay, my third trait is bookworm... since I read a lot. Either one works for me. You can pick. If you want to swap out lazy also, you can pick clumsy... because yeah... I can be a bit of a klutz. 

I prefer paler peachy or soft pinks glossy lipsticks. I almost always wear dark eyeliner and brown eyeshadow. 

I wear bling almost all the time, even if I’m not wearing makeup. I’m not sure all my Simself outfits have bling but you can certainly add some. 

I love boots. 

I wear my hair up or back about 99% of the time, even when I sleep... usually a braid then, but I will wear my hair down sometimes for special occasions. I have yet to find a down hairstyle I’m thrilled with since my hair is long and I can’t find TS4 hairs that don’t get interrupted by the outfit (bad programming). 

I have all four game expansions and romantic garden stuff packs.

I’m not sure where I found this pearl bracelet, necklace, and earrings set so if anyone knows, let me know. I’ve been hunting through my history but nada! Can’t find it anywhere.

I'm the anon who aked about the start of your sims. You mentioed the another family?

Oh, HEY!!! 

Yeah. I have the Scott family and my simself. I haven’t checked in on my simself in a while actually. I’m also working on this other save file there was a joke between me and one of my friends about a movie and I said I’m going to recreate it in the Sims. So I’m currently building the house but I dunno if I’ll ever show anything other than the ghoulians. 

I only show my friends the other save files. But I will show off the Scott family. Under the cut if you’re interested. CC has been used. WCIF! (mainly a buy/build CC hoarder though)

Travis and Summer made the cutest of babies. 

Their first born is Ruth. A young adult living in San Myshuno with Max Villareal.  

The 2nd is the rebel without a cause, Belle. 

She is adorable. She is a teenager and has a job that kinda reminds me of Robin and Steve from Stranger Things. 

Their third child is, Clara! The sweetest, purest little scout to ever exist. She just turned a teenager this week. Sorry not sorry for betraying the ghoulians.  

Their fourth child is Kimberley. I named her after my best friend when we got drunk and played the sims. Fun story I was stopping at Clara for the kids but I have risky woohoo installed. 

I have no idea in CAS why it looks like it has a moustache. But yeah.

Their 5th baby came a product of the same night. Drunk and as soon as Summer gave birth she was pregnant again when she got home - MCCC. This is why I no longer allow anyone to touch my laptop. 

Their 5th child is Eleanor named after one of my favourite characters from NCIS (fun fact, Ziva has already been used in another save file ;)).

Again she has the same moustache look but in the game it’s not there. I tried different skins, I removed all CC/MODS and it was still there so I dunno.

Travis keeps having wants about wanting more children. Which I’ll leave it up to the mod i suppose.

The last cat they have is Juniper. I brought Grace home and swapped her for Juniper oops.
