Hi, Dmitry and Katya! How are you?
I'd love to know: what's something (be it simple or important) that Echo has taught each of you and you're grateful for?
Katya: "Hi there! You must be Echo’s friend! I’m feeling fine right now, thanks for asking~”
Dima (from across the room): “Don’t shout into her phone like that.”
Katya: “Oh, shush! As you can hear, Dima is his usual grumpy self. Anyway, come here so you can talk-
We’re both really grateful to Echo for lots of things, to be honest. I mean- having a place to live is only one thing, but that doesn’t change how much it means to us. Plus, she does a really good job of taking care of it, and us, even though she’s not much older than us. She’s super smart, even if she can be really mean to other people. And she taught us a lot about the kinds of things you’d probably learn at school - I have no idea how she found out so much. She’s like.. the cool older sis from a movie! Even though she’s also a massive nerd~”
Dima: “KT, she’s a lot older than both of us. *sigh* Let me have that a second.
M- damn it! Echo has done a lot for us, it’s true. It’s.. not fun to think about where we could have ended up if not for running into her when we did. She has introduced us to a lot of different things, even things she herself has only recently found out about. She lets us be ourselves, and.. helps us figure out who that is, too. And although we’re all very different, and we do not always see her all of the time - if I’m staying with Olga, for example - it’s just.. good to know there’s always someone we can go to. Someone who we know, in a city that can’t know we’re here.”
Katya: “You sound like one of those super-dramatic black-coat guys from that one game she never beat.”
Dima: “Oh, shush. Echo will probably be back in a bit, so.. let’s just leave it there. Thanks for your questions.”

how about 🌈 for any of your platonics or familials that you choose !!
Oh! I can definitely do that! Thank you for this opportunity!!
(source: this post by bewearships)
send me a 🌈 + one of my F/Os for my sexuality/gender headcanons for them! - Let's see what I can think of, shall we? This won't be everyone, but it'll be a good scattering!
I think my three dads (Vandham, Dedede, and Nader) and my three grandads (Greygnarl, Paarthunax, and Zhongli) all like men in some way or another. That's just the vibes I'm getting from all of them. Shoutout to all three of my grandads being dragons in some form or another, incidentally.
Today (the 5th of June) is actually Katya's birthday, so it'd be remiss of me to not talk about her! That's my little sister!! Ferry (her creator) has semi-canonically said that she likes girls, so I personally headcanon her to be a lesbian. I also headcanon her to be nonbinary!
Actually, since I've mentioned Katya I shall also mention Dima, given that they're both from the same series and they're both my little siblings. Ferry has, again, semi-canonically said that he's straight, and I'm fine with sticking with that. In terms of his gender, I headcanon him to be a trans boy.
For some platonic F/Os.. you cannot tell me Nia isn't a trans girl. I also headcanon her to be pansexual. Following the XC2 theme, I headcanon Crossette to be a lesbian, Roc is canonically nonbinary (literally, his gender in the code is 4 where 1/2/3 are for male/female/animal Blades) and I also think he likes men, I like the idea of aroace Haze, and Mòrag and Brighid are definitely both sapphic and also very likely to be in love with each other.
Okay, now for some who aren't from XC2 specifically; I headcanon Taka to be bisexual and Cain to be trans and also bisexual, I headcanon Xion to be nonbinary and sapphic and Strelitzia to be bisexual (because of the flower pun). I'm not sure if you could say these count as headcanons if they're about my own OCs, but none of my Dragon Quest IX OCs cishet - Iris is a cis lesbian, Kana is a trans girl and is pansexual, and Jasper is bigender and aroace.
Hopefully this scattering of assorted headcanons is alright! Thank you once again for this opportunity to give so many ^-^

Meeting new monsters.
(This is a fanfiction where the characters meet monsters that are already in the game now. It will be long. Plus, such fanfiction will appear as a TV series.)
Kayna was at her home in Fire Heaven. She and her sister Barrd were playing with Stogg by throwing her a bone.
Cybop:Attention! Important news! (Throws an ad into Heaven) Tomorrow, a party is being announced on the new island... A mythical island!
Kayna caught one of the ads and smiled after she read it.
Kayna:Sister, tomorrow we will meet new monsters, not only from the mythical but also from other islands.
Barrd:(Happily) Great! We need to invite your friends, they should also be aware.
Kayna:That's a great idea. I'm running to them right now.
She immediately ran into the portal leading to the house of heroes. She knocked on the Door, but there was no answer. But I heard their voices from the backyard. She came up and saw her friends. Alina was blindfolded, Balan was holding a rope with a pinata in the form of an enemy, and the others were watching this.
Balan:Well, are you ready?
Alina:Ready.
Olga:Then... Start!
Alina magically stabs pinata while Balan dragged him and the others supported him.
Christina:Come on Alina!
Daisy:You can do it!
Balan:Take your time, take your time. It's just a training session.
In the end, Alina hit the pinata until it fell crashing.
Heroes:Wow (The pets showed a Score of 10)!
Krash:Super!
SpongeBob:Like a ninja.
Alina:(She took off the bandage from her face) Thank you.
Kayna:Hi, guys. I see you had a training session.
Heroes:Kayna, hi.
Alina:Yes, it is.
Carlin:What's the news in the world of monsters?
Kayna:I'll surprise you all. Tomorrow at our place...
She showed the invitation, causing everyone to be surprised.
Heroes:Mythical island.
Alina:It's great! Mythical monsters will live there.
Kayna:Not only mythical ones. There will be other new monsters.
Heroes:Wow!
Krash:And when will we get there?
Kayna:Tomorrow. We all have time to prepare.
Alina:Great. But it's a fact...
Heroes:Together, stronger, hurray!
In the evening.
Kayna was walking towards Fire Heaven after saying goodbye to her friends. She is greeted by a joyful Stogg.
Kayna:Hi Stogg. Our friends have agreed and will come tomorrow. In the meantime, we are resting.
The two monsters headed for their home.
The next day.
Kayna slept in her room until her alarm clock woke her up. She turned it off and thought about going to her friends to find out how they were. Her sister and Father were having a pie breakfast while she ran to her friends.
Kayna:Sister, Dad, I'm visiting friends.
Flowah:Okay, just be careful and don't be late with your friends.
Stogg caught up with Kayne when she stopped.
Kayna:Oh.
Flowah:Apparently she wants to go with you.
Kayna:Well, I'll take it with me.
She and Stogg left the house and ran to the house of heroes.
Meanwhile, with Alina.
Alina is with a Redhead and runs to the house of heroes with a smile. Upon entering the portal room, she is greeted by Lula, Daisy, Sanya, Jelly, Ella, Lan, Yara, Seeder and Donut.
Seeder:Oh, hi Alina. I didn't know how fast you got here.
Alina:Yeah, for something new.
Later, Kayna comes out of the portal with Stogg.
Kayna:Hi guys.
Others:Hi.
Alina:Did anything happen just in case?
Kayna:(She shakes her head) No, except I took Stogg with me, nothing happened fortunately.
Later, Christine, Julia and Katya came into the room.
Christine, Julia and Katya:Hello.
Alina:Hi girls.
ChristineWow, Stogg decided to come to us.
Kayna:Yes, my father asked.
Later, characters came out of all portals (Except into the world of monsters).
Krash:And here we are. Well, shall we start?
Kayna:Sure. Everything is behind us.
Everyone followed Kayna and Stogg. When they came to Fire Heaven, there were no monsters.
SpongeBob:Where did they go?
Alina:Maybe they immediately flew to the mythical island?
Kayna:To be honest, there is another way to get there and this is a dream.
Squidward:And why didn't all the monsters manage to sleep?
Kayna:Apparently they decided together.
Before.
The monsters of Fire Heaven gathered on the airship.
Repatillo:I can't imagine how we'll all fall asleep together.
Barrd:And where will we sleep? Kayna doesn't know when we'll leave either.
Tring:We will be relaxing on Fairy Island.
Floogull:Why can't we wait for the others?
Tring:*Sigh* We only have such airships. There is a spare one for our friends.
Entbrat:Hey! (The fire monsters looked up) Are you ready to fly already? Everyone has already gathered!
Tring:(He jumped)Right now!
Because of this, the rope was removed and the airship flew.
In the present tense.
The heroes looked at the remaining airship.
Kayna:Anyway, we have a spare airship.
Pin:I even controlled a balloon like that. (He put on his pilot glasses) From the screw!
The heroes boarded the airship and they left the volcano.
Meanwhile, with monsters.
All the monsters flew to fairy Island, where the monsters of the fairy element were waiting for them.
Pladdie:Welcome my dear friends. What's up?
Entbrat:Everything is fine, we are ready to sleep together to meet new friends.
Riff:When will we have a quiet hour?
Pladdie:After dinner. We'll just have time to prepare the beds for everyone.
Where in the sea.
A large pirate ship with pirates was sailing in the sea between the islands. They were in the form of people and the only thing they wanted was new instruments and new singing. Captain Black Note comes out of the cabin.
Black Note:Well, guys, let the dream hunt begin?
Pirates:Yeah!
Black Note:Then, (Takes out a telescope) we are looking for these monsters immediately.
Pirates:Yeah!
Meanwhile, with heroes.
The heroes were still flying towards fairy Island. They decided to show Kayna and Stogg what they had brought with them while Pin was flying the airship.
Kayna:What have you brought with you for parties.
Alina:I took it with me. Your favorite board game with a quiz for the whole family and friends.
Krash:Wow! We decided to take a kite with us, a lot of pillows if there is a pillow fight.
SpongeBob:Pillow fight.
Mr. Krabs:But we took the kitchen with us to cook and serve them burgers.
Kayna:It's a good idea (Stogg licks his tongue).
Freddy:Heh, we brought slot machines and gaming items from our pizzeria. Balan and his friends helped us.
Kayna:(Laughs) I already imagined how happy they would be.
Chiko:Look, there are pirates there!
Heroes:Pirates?
They all immediately saw the pirates in the distance at sea.
Kayna:I haven't heard of them.
Carlin:Clearly something bad has been managed.
Dusk Butterfly:But Kayne's friends are there.
Alla:I suggest we sit on another island and immediately send a warning letter to one of our flying ones. Because the airship is unlikely to fly fast.
Street Cat:Is Sagabush Island suitable?
Alla:Will fit.
Pin:Let's sit down.
Alina:Who will fly after the others.
Daisy:Let me fly. I fly very fast, but maybe not faster than some.
Lula:All right, Daisy, fly.
Daisy:I'm listening.
Daisy immediately flew towards Fairy Island, while the heroes stopped at Sugabush Island.
Meanwhile, with monsters.
The monsters were preparing their beds near the palace, as there were not enough places. Furcon, who was preparing his bed, noticed that Kain was not there and approached Tring.
Furcon:Excuse me, but where is Kayna?
Tring:She's with us.
Mammott:I'm sorry, but she really isn't here.
That's why all the monsters noticed it.
Barrd:Oh, she went to call her friends and is probably looking for us.
Entbrat:Nothing, because it will be even more fun with them and our new Friends will get to know each other.
Thumpies:The more the merrier!
Meanwhile, with heroes.
The heroes settled down near the palace and immediately sat down.
Squidward:Are you sure she'll make it?
Lula:Despite her obsession with doing something cool, she'll do it for us anyway.
Carlin:That's right. In the meantime... (Sleepily) you can sleep (Fell asleep).
Alina:Hmm, I don't know but...
Everyone had no choice and immediately fell asleep. They didn't even feel that someone had taken them into the airship and taken them to the top. Later, the heroes except Kayne were lying on the ground while she approached them.
Kayna:Guys, wake up! You have no idea where we are.
The heroes woke up and immediately noticed that they were already there...
Heroes:A mythical island.
Christine:They fell asleep very quickly.
???:No. (The characters look in different directions) We took you to a mythical island.
The heroes immediately noticed a gray monster cat with blue threads on its paws and horns.
Cass:What a cute cat.
Cataliszt:Thank you. My name is Cataliszt. The same monster that lives in your thoughts, but you are now in reality.
SpongeBob:And where are we, what about the island itself?
Cataliszt:On the moon.
Heroes:On the moon?
Patrick:We have entered the space of monsters!
Cataliszt:(Laugh) Yes.
Alina:I immediately realized that you are undergoing cleaning and repairs.
Cataliszt:Right. Therefore, in order to clean up quickly, we called the monsters. Also on this island there are not only mythical, but also ethereal ones.
Heroes:Ethereal?
Alina:Typically, these are three-element and four-element.
Krash:That's great!
Emma:It's a pity that there are no others.
Cataliszt:And we can make a surprise. We'll all clean up, and when they show up, they'll be very surprised. Everyone get to work.
Heroes:Everyone get to work.
Alina:And...
Heroes:Together, stronger, hurray!
Kayna:That's our motto.
Cataliszt:Ah, that's funny.
The heroes immediately took over the cleaning. The girls ran to clean up everything superfluous on the island. Suddenly Alina heard someone snoring and followed it. When she arrived, she saw a sleepy G'joob, and Yawstrich and Strombonin wanted to wake him up.
Yawstrich:G'joob, wake up.
Alina:(She walked up to the three monsters) Hi.
Yawstrich:Oh, hi Alina. Can you imagine, during the cleaning, our friend fell asleep again.
Alina:Well, they are like that. (She went to G'joob) G'joob, if you sleep all day, you'll miss the fun you want.
G'joob:(He woke up abruptly) Uh, what?
Strombonin:I finally woke up. Now get to work.
Krash and Chiko were dusting with a broom until Chiko noticed a box with spades and a tambourine.
Chiko:Krash look, there's some kind of box here.
Krash:Hmm, what is he doing here? (Knocks on the box) Knock knock is anyone there?
The box opened and a blue hand with an eye came out of it. This scared the boys, but they soon realized that he was harmless.
Chiko:It turns out to be harmless.
SpongeBob and Patrick were removing rocks and trees (Although these look like lamps), they saw flying glass balls with green liquid.
Patrick:Something is flying.
SpongeBob:Apparently it is. (Touched and the ball collided with another one, which later turned out to be a monster) Sorry, we didn't want to disturb you.
Flasgue:Everything is fine. I can't even break myself up like you.
Squidward wipes the headlights until he notices a monster in the form of a brown fish walking on four fins. And later I noticed that Mr. Krabs was talking to a pigeon monster in a spacesuit.
Squidward:There are even monsters in the form of marine life.
Jelly and the Redhead walk stepping on the paths, they meet a blue ferret with three mouths from the head to the lower throat. He starts humming a tune, which makes Jelly and the Redhead repeat.
Alina:(She approaches his pets) Sorry, my pets are so funny.
Auglur:Don't worry. (Barlet flies up to the ferret) He is always welcoming.
Alina:Oh, I see.
Phineas and Ferb worked with a wooden monster with decoration tools, while some decorations were decorated with dwarves and a cubic monster with an element of crystals. The characters from wonderworld were arranging the plant until Leo and Emma heard a sound. They came up and saw a purple monster with a stick with weirdos.
He used a stick to control an orange monster with a vertical mouth and a green, spherical robot that placed objects. After that, Leo and Emma clapped.
Emma:Bravo, you're doing so well.
Meebkin:(Bowed) Thank you. I also play music with meebs with the help of a musical instrument. But don't worry, they're comfortable.
Fnaf 1 animatronics were cleaning up the trash until Freddy noticed an animatronics with a green head with mentals on top, with a body splitting in half, one blue, the other brown fur. He and his friends approached him.
Freddy:Hello, are you an animatronic here too?
Nitebear:Yes, I am an animatronic. I didn't know there would be people like me here.
???:Sorry.
The animatronics were approached by a monster similar to Clackula, but it was blue and had an additional one.
Rare Clackula (Senor):We're just finishing up in a minute. Take your time (He leaves).
Bonnie:A rare Clackula.
Freddy:It's good.
Tom, Jerry, Auggie and Jack put up the very stones and plants so that they would have a place to grow.
???:Boo!
From the sudden voice, they were scared falling to the ground. They saw a red hyena with three ears similar to a jester's hat. He laughed wildly, which made the characters unhappy. But he noticed a cute orange monster with two horns and furry legs with arms, who was looking at the clown hyena with displeasure.
Hyehehe:Well, is it really impossible to joke?
A female's voice:Brother.
He saw his rare version of himself, who was purple, wore a pink vest and a banana peel on head.
Rare Hyehehe(Zoya)It's better to run away and do the cleaning.
Hyehehe:Ok.
While the two hyena monsters escaped, the cute monster helped Tom, Jerry, Auggie and Jack get up. Kayna, along with Alla, Boog and Eliot, spread out the signs and noticed a monster in the form of a bumblebee.
Eliot:A bumblebee?
Kayna:Obviously from the fire islands.
The rainbow heroes, along with Lan, Yara, Ella, Seeder and Donut, finished inserting the devices. They noticed that three monsters had approached the bakery. One was a square goat, the other was a black monster with a lantern and a wooden Monculus with orange hands inside.
Lan:Oh, and here are the new types of monsters.
After cleaning, the heroes met other monsters who also cleaned up with them. Rare G'joob Sleepy, Rare Yawstrich Zavyada, rare Strombonin Samurai, rare Auglur Hook, rare Cherubble The Slug, epic Flagler Anglerfish, X'rt, Teeter-Taure, Pentumbra, etc.
Krash:All the monsters have gathered.
Cataliszt:Not all. There's still a Mimic left. He's hiding somewhere.
SpongeBobAnd who is this?
Kayna:This is a five-flamethrower, a natural monster. He can repeat the words of monsters and disguise himself in others. Only his blue feathers and his green eyes can be distinguished.
Heroes:A natural monster?
Lan:So this is a common natural monster.
Kayna:That's right.
A similar Squidward appeared behind Squidward, only he was smiling and had green eyes. He touched it and the real Squidward looked at him in confusion.
Squidward:Where am I from here? (It's Fake! Squidward of strabismus) What?
Mr. Krabs:(Fake! Squidward hid behind the bushes) Something happened?
Squidward:You may not believe it, but I really saw myself there with green eyes.
Cataliszt:Strange. But since we've all finished cleaning, we can rest and wait for ours.
Alina:Let's. (Yawns) I feel like sleeping after cleaning.
She sat down like the others, and fell asleep from hard work.
Meanwhile, with Daisy.
Daisy is a little tired of flying to fairy island to warn the monsters.
Daisy:Be patient, Daisy, be patient. Probably a little bit left... (Noticed fairy Island) That's great.
But I didn't notice that the pirate ship was almost there.
Meanwhile, with monsters.
The monsters dined together and thought about the island and the rest of their friends.
PomPom:Why haven't they been around for a long time?
Furcon:Maybe something happened?
Mammutt:Maybe something happened.
Autumn:Maybe. Although I'm not sure about that. They couldn't even get lost.
Pango:Look at this! Someone is sailing towards us on the island.
The monsters came out of the table and looked at the pirate ship. When they looked at the pirates, they became worried.
Autumn:These are pirates! Hiding (Running towards the palace with monsters)!
Black Note:You can't escape from us! Fire!
Pirates start shooting with a cannon, but to prevent the monsters from hiding. They immediately nets each monster. Daisy landed on the island at that time.
Daisy:And here- (She noticed the pirates and hid behind a mushroom) oh no, the pirates. These scoundrels, we must urgently tell everyone.
When she immediately flew away, the pirates and monsters left the island and sailed away.
Pirate No. 1:I wonder what a delicious turkey could be.
Gobbleygourd:Hey, I'm not tasty! Just try to eat my brothers too.
Barrd:It's good that Kaina, Alina and the others are here.
Flowah:But they don't know that we've been kidnapped.
Meanwhile, with Daisy.
Daisy arrived on Sugabush Island, but noticed that her friends were not there.
Daisy:Where did they go? Ow, guys! (She looked at the top) Are they already on the island? And how do I get there if the moon is in space? (She saw a pirate ship) A gun.
On a pirate ship.
Daisy was already unnoticed on the pirate ship and immediately noticed the cannon, but stood for a while.
Daisy:(Whisper) Should I save the monsters right away? No, they'll catch me and the security is terrible. (Creeps imperceptibly) It's better to call my friends. (She got to the cannon, pointed it at the moon, burned the fuse and climbed inside) Now I'll get there quickly. (The pirates came up and noticed her) Oops.
Pirate No. 2:Where did this miracle beast come from?
Pirate No. 3:Captain! We have uninvited guests!
Daisy:And I am not a guest, but the mistress of the guns. You just don't- (The fuse burned out and the cannon shot to the top) Whoa, I'm definitely getting there now!
On a mythical island.
The heroes with the new monsters were still sleeping while Daisy landed on the ground, forcing everyone to wake up.
All except Daisy:Daisy?
Daisy:(The stars are flying around on her head) It's me...
Lula:Why do you look like something exploded?
Kayna:Where are the monsters?
Daisy:The pirates have them...
All except Daisy:Pirates?
Alina:This is badly needed, we need to save it immediately.
Kayna:Yes, but how can we all fit in two airships? And we don't have a minute to lose.
Alina:(An idea came up) Wander, do you still have orbble juice?
Wander:*He gasped* How did I not figure it out myself
He pulls a orbble juice out of his hat and makes a huge bubble with a stick so that everyone fits. They immediately start chasing the ship.
Cataliszt:Wow, where did she see and know that?
Sylvia:She loved watching about us.
They were far from the pirate ship, but decided to be here, as the pirates could have noticed them.
Alina:Okay, they're going somewhere right now. Do you see something?
Kayna:I see we're starting to leave the monster world.
Alina:I see, and... (They all notice the rock with the cave where the pirates enter there). They're entering the cave!
Wander:Come on (He took the upper part of the bubble), I'll bend down.
The heroes fly into the cave and notice the ship. They notice that the cave is getting lighter.
Emma:What is it?
Kayna:I've seen it somewhere. (I noticed the light at the end) This cave leads to the real world. I noticed and got there.
Krash:So that's how you got into our world when you didn't even know Alina yet.
Alina:And the pirates know it too...
When they got into the light, they found themselves in the Pacific Ocean, coming out of the water. SpongeBob stretched out and looked into the water and noticed that it was far from the ground in the water, and returned back to his friends.
SpongeBob:Guys, there's no way back. There's just water and that's it.
Alina:It's a little weird.
Cataliszt:Guys, they're leaving!
The heroes immediately rushed after the ship.
Alina:It would be interesting to know where they are now.
In Egypt.
The Egyptians worked in the garden growing crops. Some visited the pyramid of Cheops, worshipping God. Suddenly, the pirates sailed ashore, forcing the Egyptians to notice them.
Black Note:So, what do you have here? Oh, what am I? Take everything they have.
The pirates started looting everything, leaving almost everything behind. They even almost robbed everything, even the statues were not stolen. After that, the pirates boarded the ship and sailed away.
Barrd:Poor Egyptians.
Jeodee:If we don't talk about the rest of the residents.
Later, the heroes flew to Egypt and noticed the distressed Egyptians.
Alina:Excuse me, please... (To friends) does anyone know how to speak Egyptian? I can't. (To the Egyptians) Have you seen any pirates by any chance?
The Egyptian:We've seen them. They just sailed away.
Alina:Then go ahead. (To Egyptians) Thanks!
Egyptians:You're welcome.
The heroes in the orbble juice are flying after the pirates.
In Greece.
The Greeks looked at different sculptures from the past and tasted cheese, olives and grapes. Suddenly, as soon as the pirates stopped, they immediately robbed everything. And the Greeks hid from it and the pirates left. Later, the heroes in orbble juice stopped and saw the terrified Greeks.
Alina:Excuse please. Have any pirates sailed by here?
Greeks:They sailed by and plundered.
Alina:Thank you so much (They fly away with the heroes).
Greeks:Good luck.
In India.
It was quiet in India. Someone was doing yoga, someone was playing chess, and someone was doing magic. The pirates stole everything as usual, but unnoticed, and sailed away. That the people of India, although they did not notice, realized that they had been robbed. Later, the heroes stopped.
Alina:Do you have one too?
Residents of India:Too.
Cataliszt:Here are the bad guys.
Alina:Thank you. We promise to return it (They are flying with friends).
Residents of India:You're welcome!
The heroes continued to fly and noticed that the pirates were sailing into some kind of cave under the mountains. It is immediately clear that judging by the fact that the pirate ship went down, they will go down too.
Kayna:They've gone down somewhere.
The heroes noticed that the long slope, that even the water had descended, they realized that they would return to the same world.
Squidward:I'm interested. Why are we familiar with this?
Later, the heroes found themselves in the same place they had been before.
SpongeBob:Is that what you mean about the cave?
Squidward:Yes, and to the previous one.
Alina:Okay, we'll figure it out later. And now for the monsters.
Cataliszt:Forward!
The heroes continued to fly behind the ship.
Wander:Right. You always need to go after the main goal, but you also need to help defenseless ones who later - (Everyone stopped and saw a sharp stone that pierced the orbble juice) will help...
Alina:I'll agree with that.
When the bubble burst, the heroes fell from a tiny height and noticed the bottles in the sea.
Fiona:Who cares so much about the ocean?
Alina:I agree, I myself- (Looked at the right) guys, I already understood where we got to.
Others:Where?
They noticed a wooden house and approached it. They discreetly look through the window and notice their friends monsters, pirates and stolen items.
Kayna:Here they are poor. How do we get in?
Krash:Like what? We need to go on the attack.
Alina:No, otherwise we'll all hit it. Moreover, some are not so strong.
Lula:I would think before acting.
Cataliszt:And you know what? We can pretend to be musical pirates and arrange a concert, luring them into a trap.
Sleep:This hatch in the house will do.
Cataliszt:(He noticed the hatch in the house) Will fit.
Balan:And we can dress up in my theater. Fiona, please teleport us all.
She nodded and with the help of teleportation, they disappeared.
In the house of pirates.
The monsters stood on the stage with displeased faces while the pirates waited for them to sing.
Black Note:Well, why are you silent and not playing?
Mammott:We don't want to.
Black Note:Can I at least sing some music?
Furcon:No.
Black Note:Just music?
Monsters:No.
Black Note:(Angrily and knocks on the table with his fist) You know what? If you don't sing and play music, then off your head or into the ocean to predators.
Entbrat:You do what you want, but we are not afraid of you.
Black Note:(Angry) Oh, right? Then- (Someone knocked on the door) Who's there?
The door swung open and heroes in pirate costumes entered the house, which the pirates did not know about them. Besides monsters, they carried musical instruments.
Alina:Yo-ho-ho! Who needs help?
Black Note:Who are you?
Alina:We are the best monster trainers. We will help you at any time.
Cataliszt winked at the monsters that they realized they were their friends.
Monsters:(Whisper) Our.
Black Note:If so? Teach me.
Alina:Monsters are treated like animals, with kindness and care. After all, they are gentle. See.
Alina bowed, pointing at the monsters, Hawlo began tapping on the melody of "Wellerman".
Song "Wellerman".
[Alina]
There once was a ship that put to sea
The name of the ship was the Billy O' tea
The winds blew up, her bow dipped down
Oh blow, my bully boys, blow (Huh)
[Heroes and monsters]
Soon may the Wellerman come
To bring us sugar and tea and rum
One day, when the tonguing is done
(Quibble play by their singing)
We'll take our leave go
[Alina]
She'd not been two weeks from shore
When down on her a right whale bore
(Sugabush and Sahabeats add melody)
The captain called all hands and more
[All]
He'd take that whale in tow (Huh)
(Back to the verse)
Da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da
Black Note:Bravo. (To the monsters) I apologize for the disrespect. Can I have more fun?
Alina:Sure! Let's play a remix.
Pirates:Remix?
Krash:Everyone loves this version.
Heroes:Come on (Everyone starts dancing)!
Remix "Wellerman".
[Alina and girls]
Before the boat and hit the water
[Werdos]
The whale's tail came up and caught her
[Heroes]
All hands to the side, harpooned and fought her
[All]
When she diven down low (Huh)
(While they were singing the chorus, someone's green hands opened the hatch and carefully placed the dynamite, and closed the hatch)
Block Note:And this is generally fun!
Cataliszt:(Whisper) It's time to start the plan.
Alina:(Nodded) And now the train!
Pirates:(They became a steam locomotive) Train!
Hyehehe and her sister Zoya opened the hatch and noticed dynamite in it. They told the pirates to jump here while they were dancing and the pirates jumped through the hatch that they closed them.
Block Note:Stop! Why is it dark? Is this a trap?
Pirate№3:(Did he hit something) Captain, I've hit something... Is it burning?
Alina:All right, guys, now we're teleporting.
Olga:Don't forget all the stolen items from the three countries.
Everyone stood up and circled and Fiona began teleporting that they immediately disappeared to the mythical island. In the moment before the teleport, Redhead noticed her clone next to her. While they were gone, the island exploded and the pirates were in the water.
Black Note:They're tricky...
Meanwhile, with heroes.
After returning the stolen items from the real world, the heroes already found themselves on a mythical island, while the rescued were surprised at the order.
Autumn:Wow. Did you clean it all up when we were gone?
Cataliszt:Absolutely right.
Autumn:Well done.
Alina:(She looked at Redhead who was meowing) What is a Redhead? (Redhead meowed) A doppelganger?
Squidward:Oh, and that's not enough to have a doppe-
He noticed the same doppelganger he had seen before. Everyone was surprised by this, and only Alina realized who it was.
Alina:I can already guess. (Points to the double) It's a Mimic.
Mimic:(Laugh) You guessed right.
The monster itself, in the form of a Squidward, became in the form of a parrot with three legs with a hand on the tip. Everyone was surprised by this.
Autumn:Our friend (With natural bosses, Mimic approached)!
Deedge:How many years, how many winters?
Riff:How did you survive?
Mimic:And so it happened. I even helped you put dynamites in the hatch while you and the pirates were dancing. And I'm going to live on Fire Oasis (Everyone is laughing).
Cataliszt:Since we've saved everything, I suggest we celebrate. (To the heroes) Do you have anything with you?
Kayna:Absolutely there is for a party.
Alina:Here.
The heroes took out pillows, slot machines, snacks and everything for the party.
Heroes:Enjoy.
Monsters:Hurray!
They all had a lot of fun on a new island in the world of monsters.
The End.
(How long have I been writing this (•_•))

A dear friend of mine said, to quote, “ain’t never seen two siblings who didn’t share aspects of their fighting style”
So I went down through mine, and.. she’s right:
Both Alectra and Lamia wield swords, like Tartaglia’s melee stance, with Lamia having actually witnessed him learning his sword skills from Skirk in the Abyss
Catarina shows Felix the value of learning magic in addition to swordsmanship in their shared supports (like this one comic I saw that was like “felix if your sword got knocked out of your hand and you could conjure up a new one wouldn’t that be epic”), and ends up taking pointers from how he fights with his own sword too
Inigo is highly skilled in archery, one-handed weaponry, and sneaking - which are the exact same three skills Carmine specialises in (plus alchemy, in her case)
Aria and Vanitas are both dark entities and wield Keyblades of darkness in their fighting styles, with both also focusing way more on offense than defense (I think of Vanitas as more able to take hits whereas Aria is more about dodging them)
Katya, Dima and Echo all have mutations that can be used to attack in various ways - Katya by producing tissue, Dima wielding something with his telekinesis, Echo manipulating electrical signals inside an opponent’s body
Noel is battled on Grassy Terrain by the player, and Adriana’s Aevian Mismagius can set that; Noel, Anna and Adriana all also have at least one Fairy-type Pokémon on their teams (Clefable and later Xerneas, Sylveon and shiny Gardevoir, Mimikyu); Lumi and Adriana both battle more to have a good time than to necessarily get stronger (and Lumi also has an Alolan Ninetales, which is Fairy-type!)
The Lumas don’t generally really fight, and Mimi doesn’t like fighting either, though she can using star magic if she needs to (and Lumas become stars, so)
Maria has two guns. I don’t have a self-insert for her source yet but I don’t know how she learns how to use those so maybe I can teach her? Either that or we can match in dual-wielding but I have some other sort of weapon, I'm not sure yet.
I do believe that is all of my fictional siblings

OC lore part 1 of 7 for @gear-redfield
Since I have a ton of ocs I’m gonna start off with the ones that are in different fandoms and then work my way through the fandoms I have multiple ocs for. I think I’m gonna do 5-6 HCs for them so it won’t be a mile long. The other ocs I’ll go into more details (maybe).
Riley Sanders (Metro Series)
Has three Watchers for pets, they’re her babies. But there was barely any room on the Aurora for them until they ended up getting the other rail carts. They tend to sleep anywhere they want, mostly in place where they stop people from moving around the train.
She’s not very talkative, likes to keep to herself for the most part. The people she talks with the most is Ulman, Artyom, Anna and Duke. That was until Katya and Nastya joined them.
Being able to breathe fresh air was kind of liberating for her. It made her happy that there were placing where you can live and breathe on the surface, not stuck in the dark, cold and damp metro.
Besides her and Ulman, Nastya was the first of the Aurora crew to hold their son.
Her brother wasn’t with her when that whole issue on the train occurred. He has no idea if she’s alive or not and she vice versa. She’s hoping she’ll be able to see him soon and have him meet his new nephew.
Amazing at stealth. Can sneak by a group or camp in a matter of minutes without killing anyone.
Kenadee “The Viper” Taylor (Ghost Recon)
She joined the US Army right out of high school with her high school sweetheart, Maverick. They married a year later and a year after that had their daughter Addison.
Joined Delta Force at the age of 24. That whole selection process was rigorous but very rewarding.
She has a very happy outlook on life, always bubbly. You wouldn’t think she’s apart of Delta. It throws people off every time.
Lost her husband in the field when their daughter was 5 years old. She retired after that and moved back to her hometown of San Diego where she could raise their daughter in a better environment.
Joined Nomad’s Ghosts five and a half years later. All thanks to Midas, who she met because their kids go to school together.
Carries around a knife coated in snakes venom, only uses it during interrogations.
Anja Kovic (Uncharted)
Was born to Borislav Kovic, a General Major in the Yugoslavia Ground Forces and Svetlana Kovic, a former nurse. Also the younger sister to Vladimir.
She grew up in a highly abusive household under her fathers rule. He had that mindset of the men work and the woman stay home, then add on the strictness of being in a military family.
Wanted to be a nurse growing up but those dreams got shot down when her father married her off to the war lord Zoran Lazarevic at the age of 18.
Marriage to Zoran was horrific, she was just happy he spent more time in the field than with her. His death did not sadden her whatsoever.
Lost her mother to suspicious circumstances when she was twelve. Leaving her and her older brother at the will of their father.
After Zoran’s death she was finally free. She left for Serbia in search of finding her brother and during that time gave birth to her and unfortunately Zoran’s son, naming him Dragan. And yes, she did find her brother and became the nurse she always wanted to be.
Evelyn “Evie” Hazelton (The Order 1886)
Was born to Edith Hazelton and an unnamed father in London, England on October 1st, 1860. (Her mom was a prostitute)
She lived in a brothel up until her mom’s murder. She loved it, to be surrounded with so many women that helped her through her life, gave her advice and helped molded her into the woman she is today.
Sir Percival/Malory gave her a spot on the Order after her mom’s death and she became the protege of Sir Galahad/Grayson. There she learned how to fight and shoot a gun.
The first time she ever saw a werewolf she thought it was a big dog. It was late at night, she was young and couldn’t tell since it was in the far distance.
Has a scar going down her back from being scratched by a werewolf during a fight.
Very protective of the people she cares about. She was the only person who pleaded not guilty during Grayson’s trial because she knows him. She knew he wouldn’t have worked with the rebellion if it didn’t suit a good cause.
Lydia Wilson (Call of Cthulhu)
Her parents were apart of the cult that was trying to bring back Cthulhu. However, they left Darkwater when Lydia was five and moved to Boston.
No matter how much her parents tried to make her forget the past, she didn’t. She still has memories of the cult, what the uniforms looked like, the masks. It never left her.
Started hearing the voice of the Leviathan in her dreams once she hit her late 20′s. Eventually she caught wind of what he wanted and she set sail for Darkwater, a place she hasn’t been since she was five.
Her father ran a tailoring shop and she helped a lot through her childhood.
When she spaces out she has a resting bitch face. It makes her loo unapproachable according to her mother.
The first time she saw the Shambler she though she was hallucinating. That wasn’t the case and she never wants to deal with it again.
Lily (MCU)
Born on the planet Prometheus. A planet cover in lush green grass and waterfalls.
Ever since she was a child she had this fight in her. She use to find a decent sized stick and pretend to fight a tree.
Was married to Thanos for over 20 years. The only good that came out of it were her kids.
Joined the Avengers after Thanos’ death. It was nice to be around people and strike up conversations. She just loved learning about Earth and she would talk about her home world.
She was the first owner of the scepter until it was given to Loki. That made her angry, she really loved that scepter.
The first person she befriended was Carol Danvers because her youngest daughter, Lotus really liked her.
Ashlynn Davenport (Tomb Raider)
Was born into Trinity. Her father was a sergeant in the Trinity army and her mom was a nurse.
She liked her life for the most part, loved her parents and friends, but the more she found out about Trinity and all the harm they do she wanted out. Unfortunately they didn’t happen when she was being married off to the Trinity field commander, Konstantin.
Being married to Konstantin meant moving around a lot, never really staying in one place for too long. Once the mission was done then they moved on. She didn’t mind it, not at first. She liked traveling around and seeing the world, but the stuff Trinity did put a bad taste in her mouth.
Ash can be quite manipulative when she wants to be. It was something she learned from her dad growing up.
She helped Lara take down Trinity from the inside when they were looking for the divine source. No one figured it out, all of thinking it was Lara.
Ashlynn actually loved Konstantin, she just thought his mind was corrupted by his sister and was trying to make him see what was right. So when he died she was pretty pissed and was going to say her true feeling to Ana. Unfortunately the Trinity sniper got to Ana first. Leaving her with a bunch of anger inside her.
Sawyer Monrow (TLOU)
She was 12 at the time of when the cordycepts outbreak began. Her life was pretty great as well and then over night everything changed.
Her family ended up at the Hartford QZ, where her and her younger brother went through military training (just like in Boston) to teach them how to kill infected and other humans if necessary.
Met Joel and Ellie in Pittsburgh. She was with Henry and Sam at the time and after their deaths she stayed with them and made the trek to Jackson.
She can be very standoff-ish at first glance. It’s how she acts in this apocalyptic world, more so to protect herself and because she doesn’t trust people.
Started a relationship with Joel a year and a half later. He was the first person she really let in and was happy for the few years they were together. She even considers Ellie like a little sister.
She lost her family when the Hartford QZ fell. She tried to save her brothers, but couldn’t. That still haunts her to this day.
Phaedra Alexeyev (Werewolf The Apocalypse)
She’s very good at backstabbing and manipulating people. All thanks to her former caern. A part of her hates it, but the other knows how in handy it can be.
She was born at the Shadow Lords Thunderstrike Sept, Ural Mountains, Russia. Close to the city of Chelyabinsk.
Phaedra and Cahal became a surrogate family after they both had to kill a family member.
Always the first ready to jump into the action. When there’s a fight she’s on the front lines, she’s not going to miss out. And she just likes to fight in general.
She born under a full moon making her have the Ahroun Auspices. The Full Moon makes the Ahroun the living weapon of Gaia. They are the warrior among a race of warriors, the champion of a martial people. Ever ready to kill, and to die if need be.
Her name means Bright Defender.
Emma Ross (Stargate Atlantis)
Joined the Marines to help pay for her college tuition. She surprisingly enjoyed it and continued to serve as she got her degree in science.
Lived a very mundane life growing up. Had two wonderful parents, a good upbringing, nothing exciting really happened. Which might have been the reason she joined the military.
The hardest thing she has to do is lie to her friends and family when she was transferred over to the Atlantis expedition. Being so far away from them sucks, but with the Daedalus she has more of a chance to go visit them.
As much as she’s in danger, she’s never felt more alive than being on Sheppard’s team. All the action just makes her blood pump.
Ronon calls her ‘red’ due to her being a red head. She finds it kinda funny.
She’s very friends and loves to strike up conversations whenever she can. Getting to know more people on Atlantis made living there easier.

Galactica, Chapter 59 (Group Fic) - TheDane/Veronica
A/N: Click here if you’re looking for previous chapters (or here if you’d rather read on AO3). 💫
Last Chapter: Katya’s pregnancy test was not what she’d hoped, Violet got lucky and Courtney got pampered.
This Chapter: Avoidance, bonding, and betrayal.
***
Katya shook the plastic bag, mixing the chocolate in with her batter. It was the middle of the night, but she hadn’t been able to fall asleep, so instead of lying restless in bed, she was preparing a batch of brownies, baking one of the coping mechanisms she had learned in rehab.
Because Katya, Katya really wanted a drink.
She couldn’t believe she was probably pregnant. Sure, she and Trixie weren’t exactly the most careful, but Katya had always assumed that any potential kid of hers would get the message that she was a horrendous mom and simply leave her womb barren; choosing her body as a place to set up shop a terrible decision for everyone involved.
Except Trixie.
Katya had seen him attempt to hide it, had seen him do his best to downplay his excitement, but he had failed, his eyes bright, his face cracking into a grin whenever she was looking directly at him.
She knew she wasn’t her family, knew that she had left that world behind, but she couldn’t help but be scared if she could actually love her kid, if she could be there for it whenever it needed her, if she could give what she had lacked growing up.
Katya sighed, gently tapping her whisk against the side of her bowl.
She didn’t know how she felt, didn’t know what to do, not really, but she knew that she’d figure it out together with Trixie, having that man on her team making her feel like anything is possible.
***
If you asked Bianca to describe her best qualities, the word “nurturing” probably wouldn’t come into play at all. Smart, yes. Charming, clever, pragmatic, funny...she certainly had many things that she was proud of; it wasn’t an issue of false modesty. But the truth was, she just didn’t think of herself as a caregiver, despite spending most of her life in that role: first as the oldest child in a chaotic family, then as what often felt like being the voice of reason in her friend group, and finally being an actual surrogate parent to Adore when her sister had come into her custody as a teenager.
And she liked feeling needed.
So when Courtney showed up shivering and wet, immediately springing into action to fix the situation was just what she did automatically. It was a practical response--solve the problem at hand. And the fact that solving the problem involved taking care of Courtney, getting to pamper and spoil her, and finally curl up with her all content and soft and warm...well, that was just a side effect of being a decent human being.
She couldn’t deny how good it felt, though, to have her snuggled into an embrace all night. How cute it was that she tucked her feet under Bianca’s and gripped the front of her pajama top. And in the morning, how she couldn’t resist watching her sleep for a few minutes before gently rousing her with a kiss to the cheek.
A gorgeous little sigh slipped from her lips as her eyelids fluttered.
“Good morning, angel.”
Courtney tilted her head towards Bianca, a smile pulling on her lips, yawning and replying, “Hi…”
“Did you sleep okay? You were real tired...”
“Mmhmmm.” Courtney shifted slightly, cheeks reddening, biting her lip. “Oh god, I’m just now remembering…”
“What, baby?”
“I just...I’m sorry I was such a mess last night,” she said, embarrassment all over her face.
“Don’t be sorry.”
“But I was such a fucking baby-”
“Hey,” Bianca placed a kiss against her lips. “It’s totally fine. Everyone needs to be babied sometimes.”
“You think?”
“Absolutely. You shouldn’t feel bad for letting me take care of you.” Bianca ran a hand through her hair.
“So...who takes care of you?” Courtney asked, voice light, fingers drifting up Bianca’s arm.
“Well...I’ve got a black card.”
“That’s not what I meant,” Courtney said, shifting her weight so that she was straddling Bianca’s hips. “But I think you knew that.”
“Yeah, I did,” Bianca admitted, heart skipping a few beats as Courtney leaned forward, brushing light, soft kisses against her neck.
“Tell me what you like,” Courtney murmured as she worked open the buttons on her top. “Tell me how to take care of you.”
“I have...very simple needs,” said Bianca, and Courtney paused, waiting for instructions.
Bianca took hold of the belt on her fluffy robe, slowly pulling it loose, letting it fall open.
“I want to see you.”
Courtney shrugged the robe off her shoulders, sitting up straighter to give Bianca a better look. Bianca smiled, taking her time to enjoy her, hands dancing up her thighs, wrapping around her waist, then up to toy with those delightfully perky tits. Courtney’s eyes closed, body bearing down against Bianca’s as her chest rose and fell, hips rolling, grinding against her.
“You like that, baby?” Bianca breathed, thrusting her own hips up to meet Courtney’s, thumbs rubbing her hardened nipples.
“I...yeah, but...B…”
“What, angel?”
“I’m supposed to be...doing what you like.”
“This is what I like,” Bianca told her. “I like touching you, watching your face as you get so, so wet…”
Courtney whimpered, leaning forward to rub her clit against Bianca’s, and soon her whimpers turned to moans. Bianca felt the pulse in her own cunt getting stronger, heartbeat quickening, wanting nothing more than to taste her, to drive her to ecstasy once again.
“That’s right, baby…” Bianca said, hands moving to her ass. “Crawl forward.”
“What?” Courtney looked up, bleary-eyed.
“Forward. Come on…” Bianca guided her with a light, barely audible smack on the butt. “That’s it, good girl. Now grab the headboard. There you go…”
She took ahold of the headboard, now kneeling up in the exact position Bianca wanted. She wrapped her arms around Courtney’s thighs, supporting her weight as she began to suck wet, warm kisses up her thighs.
“Oh, god, Bianca…”
This was what Bianca lived for. The taste of her, dripping onto her tongue, the way she trembled and shook, soon barely able to support her weight, letting Bianca take all of it in her hands. She started to speak, a litany of praise, the vibrations of her voice making Courtney shudder and gasp.
“You’re so fucking delicious, angel…”
Courtney moaned, hips rolling once again, grinding against Bianca’s tongue. Finally, seeing how much she was struggling to stay upright, Bianca took pity on her and rolled her over onto her back, sucking harder and harder on her clit until her moaning turned to pitiful little whines and her muscles went slack.
Bianca backed off, kissing a gentle trail up her belly, hands sliding up over her skin, now slick with sweat. She nuzzled into her cheek, her own pajama top open, heart still hammering in her chest.
“B...I wanted to…” Courtney gulped for air. “I want to make you come.”
“What makes you think I didn’t?” Bianca asked, lips twisted into a smirk.
“Please…” Courtney placed a hand on Bianca’s cheek. “Tell me what you want. Or...or show me?”
Bianca looked down at her, so beautiful and earnest. And though it wasn’t normally how she operated, she decided in that moment to give in.
“Alright,” she said softly, and then took a deep breath before crawling to the side of the bed, sliding open the drawer of her nightstand, fingers poised in mid-air over her magic wand, hesitating. “I don’t, uh...usually have help with this.”
“No?”
“I’m more of a giver than a receiver,” she explained, and Courtney smiled, head tilting coyly.
“Generous to a fault, huh?”
“No, not exactly. I just...uh…” Bianca bit her lip. This conversation was getting dangerously close to territory that she absolutely didn’t want to discuss, and she racked her brain for something to say to change the subject.
Courtney seemed to sense that something had shifted, and she sat up a bit, propping herself against the pillows, reaching out to touch Bianca’s arm.
“B...you don’t have to if you don’t want.”
“No, I know.” She swallowed down a lump in her throat, any desire for an orgasm gone for the moment, hand pulling away from the vibrator like it was burned. “Um...you know what, let’s save it for another time.”
“Okay.” Courtney didn’t ask any more questions, simply opened up her arms, letting Bianca settle against her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. Bianca sighed, heart slowly returning to normal as her eyes fell closed.

“Oh, and can you get me two cinnamon raisins please?” Sutan pointed through the glass, knowing that Raven would want something sweet with her breakfast, the bagel the lowest calorie treat he could see. Then, remembering that Raven could indulge her sweet tooth, he added, “And a black and white cookie.”
“Course sir.” Sutan smiled at the girl behind the counter, his hands finding their way back into his pockets as he waited for her to pack everything up. Violet was still at home in the apartment, hopefully sleeping and getting the rest she desperately needed, Sutan sneaking out without a problem.
It was Saturday morning, and while Sutan didn’t like to get up early, especially when it was this cold and rainy outside, he didn’t mind it too much when the occasion was Raja and Raven coming down for breakfast before Violet and Raven went off to the spa together, leaving him and his sister behind.
It suited Sutan wonderfully that he was going to be spending the day with Raja, time alone with his twin surprisingly hard to come by considering how often they saw each other.
They had planned to get all of the Christmas gifts out of the way, which Sutan was very grateful for since Raja was a much better gift giver than he was, trying to figure out what to give to someone like Fame a headache every single year.
“Here you go sir.”
“Thanks,” Sutan smiled again, taking the bags of bagels and spreads into his arms and getting ready to go back out into the dreary December morning, when he bumped into someone at the door.
“Sutan?”
“Oh,” Sutan paused, a very familiar brunette looking up at him. “Yara? Hi. What are you doing in this part of town?”
“One of my friends lives around the corner,” Yara smirked. “Don’t worry, I’m not stalking you.”
“Of course not. I assume you have better things to do with your time,” he chuckled.
Yara was one of New York's most booked and blessed freelance makeup artists, the tiny Puerto Rican wrapped up in a gigantic coat, her black hair hidden under a hat.
“It’s so good to see you, though.” Yara grinned. “I haven’t heard from you in forever.”
“Sorry, my bad,” Sutan laughed, leaning in for a hug and a proper greeting, but as Yara tried to kiss him, he quickly turned his head, her lips hitting his cheek instead.
“Oh?” Yara raised an eyebrow, pulling back, her hand on her forearm. “And what’s that supposed to mean?”
“Right.”
The question was fair, especially considering the fact that the last time they had seen each other, Sutan had fucked her in a handicap bathroom.
They had been hooking up for years, never getting together, both of them realizing from the start that they’d drive each other crazy, the kookiness Sutan adored about Yara also something he knew he could never live with.
That didn’t mean that they didn’t have chemistry, and that they couldn’t have fun getting together at parties when they happened to be single, Yara one of his favorite people to talk shit with.
“I’m seeing someone.”
“You are?” Yara looked at him like she didn’t believe him, her eyes narrowed. “Seriously?”
“Yes.” Sutan laughed. Yara wasn’t jealous, but he supposed it made sense she was suspicious, her bed one of the many he visited whenever he had loudly declared he was done with love, which had happened embarrassingly often. “I’m seeing someone.”
“Okay,” Yara smiled back, and Sutan couldn’t help but grin. “Just be careful, and maybe get it on your socials so you don’t make a girl look a fool.”
Sutan paused, realizing for the first time that what Yara said was completely true, his entire online presence not containing a single trace of VIolet.
“Huh.”

“Hey… Island Records is a good label, right?” Bianca picked up her coffee mug.
“It’s a great label!” Courtney exclaimed, eyes lighting up as she lowered the New York Times she was reading.
It had been a lazy morning, the two of them in bed, dozing and chatting until Bianca absolutely had to get up and let the dogs out, then wandering down to the kitchen to eat a light breakfast, each of them with a dog curled in their laps.
“Well, my friend Charlie is an exec over there, EVP of development or something, and she just sent me an invite for a holiday party on Tuesday. Wanna come? It’s a great place, very downtown, you’d love it.”
Courtney’s eyes had grown bigger and bigger as Bianca spoke, now wide as saucers, mouth hanging open.
“What?” Bianca asked.
“Charlie Hides?” she finally squeaked out.
“Yeah, you know her?”
“Of course I know her! Well...I mean, I know of her.”
“Right, exactly. I figure she’d be a good person for you to meet.”
“I don’t even know what to say,” Courtney sputtered.
“Say you’ll be my date.” Bianca moved her chair closer, taking one of Courtney’s hands and pressing a kiss to the back of her wrist.
“Of course I will!” Courtney squealed, throwing both arms around Bianca’s neck. A second later, though, she looked slightly perturbed.
“What’s the matter?”
“Well, it’s just...she’s a major producer. And I think Ivy’s a little sick of me borrowing things. I’m just trying to think of what I could wear.”
“Hmm...if only you knew someone in fashion with a dozen stylists on staff…” Bianca mused, reaching for her phone. “I’ll have someone pull things and bring them over.”
“Wait, but...it’s Saturday.”
“I know the boss, I’m pretty sure she’ll approve the OT,” Bianca said.
“I just…” Courtney placed a hand on Bianca’s, teeth worrying her bottom lip. “I don’t want to be the kind of person who summons people on their weekend. I hate being summoned on the weekend.”
This was a first for Bianca, and she couldn’t help but be amused.
“Okay, how’s this…” She read out loud as she typed, “Hey guys...got a half-day project for sometime this weekend...not required but of course you’ll get OT...Hit me up if you’re interested.”
She flipped her phone around, showing Courtney the screen, waiting for her approval. After a few moments, she nodded, satisfied.
“Okay. Thanks.” Courtney let out a sigh of relief as Bianca hit send, then perked up, excited. “So...does this mean we get to play dress-up?”
“You like dress-up, sunshine?”
“It’s my favorite game,” Courtney replied with a wink.
“Oh yeah? Want me to show you my favorite game?” Bianca shooed the dogs off their laps and then grabbed her around the waist, making her shriek and giggle.

“Mmh!” Raven’s eyes widened, lowering the cucumber and orange-infused water in her hand. “This is so much better than I expected!”
“Right?” Violet giggled, and Raven grinned, both of them in fluffy bathrobes, stretched out on lounge chairs. Raven had just finished her mud bath, Violet waiting for her in the quiet room after her facial, masseuses coming to pick them both up any minute. “Luckily for us, Miss Fame never does anything halfway.”
“Cheers to that,” Raven clinked their glasses together, taking another sip while she looked out on the spa, the area they were sitting in filled with plants and mist from several aromatherapy diffusers, the air scented with eucalyptus, rosemary, and a hint of grapefruit. “Thank you for bringing me.”
Raven had never minded Violet, the other woman always treating her fast and efficiently as Fame’s assistant, but in Paris, something had shifted between them, Violet going the extra mile to take care of her, which wasn’t something that happened often.
Sure, Raven always had people sniffing around her, had strangers who seemed willing to do anything for her if she paid attention to them, but Raven hated that, ass lickers and ass kissers the most boring people on earth.
It was one of the reasons she didn’t jive with the new models at Elite, and rarely ever welcomed them on board before they had proved their worth on their own.
Sometimes, the industry she was in made her feel old and ancient, but around Violet, Raven just felt comfortable.
“So,” Raven smiled, “what are you giving our darling Tantan for Christmas? I’m thinking of jewelry for Raja, but that’s also so boring, and I just know Fame is giving her something gold.”
“Promise not to tell him?” Violet stirred her drink, an adorable little frown on her face.
“Cross my heart and hope to die.”
“I have no idea.” Violet looked at Raven, honesty painted on her features.
“Oh!” Raven sat up, grinning widely. “I can help! I know he’s been looking at a new Louis Vuitton luggage set.”
“Isn’t that like three thousand dollars a piece?” Violet bit her lip.
“Either that, or a trip to Peru.” Raven shrugged. “He’s been talking about going with Karl for years.”
“Not to be ungrateful for the…” Violet paused, clearly going over her words, “Great… Suggestions. But I was thinking more along the lines of like, whiskey, a sweater, maybe a book?”
“Oh yeah.” Raven snorted, the idea of Sutan getting a book and actually reading it absolutely ridiculous. “Murni would love that for him.”
“You think?” Violet tilted her head, a warm feeling settling in Raven’s stomach. She loved that they could do this together, making fun of Sutan one of her favorite hobbies.
“Sure,” Raven grinned. “She always likes it when someone tries to clean up her ‘idiot boy.’”
Violet laughed, and Raven smiled, drinking the last of her spa water.
“How is your family feeling about you missing two major holidays in a row?”
When Raja had told her that Violet was coming with them for Christmas, the Amrull twins always driving to their moms and spending the day there, Raven had been overjoyed at the prospect of once again having someone else with them, everything so much more fun when Violet was there.
“Are they mad?”
“Umh…” Violet paused, biting her lip. “I don’t. I kinda don’t. See my family? Ever?”
“You’re don’t talk to them?”
“No.”
“Know what?” Raven reached out, putting her hand on top of Violet’s. “Me neither.”

BIANCA: Blondie! Sorry I can't come over today. Getting lucky, you know how it is. ;)
BIANCA: Love you, I owe you one.
“Urgh!” Fame groaned as she was put through to Bianca’s voicemail for the third time.
“Bianca. Hi. This is still Fame, calling for the third time because I refuse to accept that you cancel last minute, and I especially refuse to accept that you cancel to have sex. You might treat other people like this, but you promised. You knew we had this arranged, you agreed to come, and now I have food that’s getting cold and you’re not even taking my call to tell me to my fucking face!”
Fame hung up, wishing for a second that she still had a flip phone, the satisfaction of ending a call on a smartphone not anywhere near the same. She sighed, looking out on her kitchen island.
The counter was set with a wide variety of dishes, and Fame couldn’t help but put her thumb nail in her mouth, her other hand resting in the crook of her elbow.
The annual Christmas party at the Dam-Mikkelsen-Bertschy household was one of the most important events of the year, because everyone she loved had to attend. It was a guaranteed evening with her chosen family, which meant that everything had to be perfect, right down to the exact blend of petit fours for dessert so everyone could have their favorites, the house already fully redecorated for the Christmas season.
Fame bit down, her manicure tasting horrendous, but she didn’t know what to do. Bianca had promised to be there, had said that she’d show up and help make the decisions. She could call again, but it seemed like she had truly been cast aside, not even a lousy text ticking in from her best friend to explain why the hell some trick was so important that she’d leave Fame to fend for herself.
She was just about to give up, when she heard the kitchen door open, Patrick walking, her husband dressed in a sweater and carrying an empty cup.
“I know, I know-” Patrick held up a hand, “you’re busy, but I just need a refill and-” he paused, looking around the room. “... Where’s Bianca?”
“Something came up.” Fame tried to keep the crack out of her voice, tried not to show how upset she truly was, but it was impossible when Patrick was looking at her like that.
“Oh Fame.” Patrick walked over, putting his cup down on the counter and wrapping his arms around her. “I’m sure she’s just really busy.”
Fame didn’t answer, instead burrowing her face in his shoulder, the knowledge that she had been discarded like a boulder on her spirit.

Courtney twirled, the black skirt fanning out, looking over at Bianca to see what she thought, when she saw her frowning at her phone. Her heart sank a bit, asking, “Miss Fame again?”
“Yeah.”
Dan, one of the Marie Claire stylists, had responded to Bianca’s request right away, and he’d shown up at the apartment mere hours later, loaded down with a stuffed wardrobe rack and 4 bags of shoes and accessories. Courtney had been having the time of her life, trying on some of the chicest designer clothes she’d ever seen up close, much less worn, but she felt guilty that Bianca had cancelled on Miss Fame, knowing how annoyed she’d get at her own friends when they blew her off for a date.
“Maybe you should call her back?” Courtney suggested, taking a pair of shoes from Dan and slipping them on.
“I’d really rather not subject myself to this particular hissyfit.”
“Well…are you sure you want to cancel? If you leave now, you can-”
“It’s really not a big deal. She gets the same food from the same chef every year, this is all just a formality. You know, will it be the wild mushroom truffle flatbread or the mini pizzas with wild mushrooms and truffle sauce?”
“Sounds like a win win.” Courtney stepped out of her shoes and into the next pair Dan had laid out.
“Exactly. She doesn’t need me for that.”
“Okay,” Courtney said with a light chuckle, “...if you’re sure.”
“I love this, by the way,” Bianca said, gesturing to her outfit. “Put it in the yes pile and try the Balmain.”
“Why thank you, madame…” Courtney preened, spinning in a circle and taking a gorgeous sequined dress from Dan before skipping off to change, passing the ‘yes pile’ on the way, a table already laden with outfits and accessories.

“Katya?” Trixie tapped his knuckles against the door to the kitchen, his fiancée bent over the dining table, a pair of pliers in hand as she worked.
Katya had been avoiding him all day, and at first, Trixie had tried not to take it personally, had wanted to give Katya space, but she had been so weird at dinner, basically only talking to Pearl while barely looking at him.
“Yes?”
“I got you a kit kat,” Trixie held it up, the candy bar from the bodega really just an excuse, but he walked in anyway, putting it on the edge of the table. “What are you making?”
“Earrings.”
Katya’s crafts always looked utterly bizarre, especially when she had been at the thrift stores, and it was one of the things Trixie loved the most about her. A small pile of plastic animals had been covered in glitter, a pair of chickens now deep purple and sparkling like disco balls.
“Katya,” Trixie bit his lip, waiting for a second, unsure what to say, how to say it, and if he even had to say it. “Should we talk?”
“I-” Katya put down the crocodile she was painting, her fingers covered in blue glitter. “Well...”
He wasn’t going to deny that he was happy about the possibility of being a dad, Katya the only person he’d ever want to have kids with, but if didn’t want it at the expense of her happiness.
“It’s okay if you don’t-”
“Can we,” Katya cut him off, and Trixie quickly shut his mouth, Katya looking up at him for the first time, her blonde bangs framing her face. “Can we not talk about it until after I go to the doctor? Until I know-”
“Of course.” Trixie grabbed a chair to sit down. “Of course. Totally.”
“Okay.” Katya smiled, and while it didn’t really reach her eyes, it looked a lot more genuine than the half smiles and the stress brownies.
“I love you Katya,” Trixie scooted closer, their legs bumping together. “So much.”

BASIC INFORMATION:
NAME: Ivanna Dmitrieva.   AGE: 31. PLACE OF BIRTH: Kolosovka, Russia. AFFILIATION: The Russian Mob. OCCUPATION: Assassin. FACE CLAIM: Laura Vandervoort. AVAILABILITY: TAKEN.
BIOGRAPHY:
(Warning: Mentions of domestic, and child abuse, as well as animal death.)
A child born to the mercy of the most careless of handlers, Ivanna Dmitrieva’s path was perhaps never meant for grandeur. Born in a small desolate village in the heart of Siberia, to a home that was falling apart at the seams, she was simply another mouth to feed in a family that had never known anything but suffering. By all accounts unwanted by her overworked and broken mother, and the result of her husband’s continued cruelty and violence. Much of Ivanna’s childhood was spent in trying to find someplace she was wanted and needed, all whilst fighting for survival against her father like the rest of her siblings.
Nikolay Dmitriev was a man down on his luck from the start, lacking any sort of spine or strength of will to push harder against the circumstances he’d inherited from his father before him. His own deficiencies were to blame for what little life had to offer him, and instead of fighting harder, the man became content to drown out his inhibitions in spirits, allowing it to become a crutch and then a true sickness. A degenerate coward always, but a true nightmare when inebriated prone to taking out the frustration of his shortcomings on his wife and children.
The Dmitriev family was sinking long before Ivanna came into the picture, and it was her eldest brother who’d had to shoulder the burden of responsibility their father could not. Not only working himself tirelessly to hunt and provide for his family but also taking the brunt of Nikolay’s rage and aggression. And despite all this, Ivanna still fondly remembers her brother to be kind. A gentle soul in the body of a brute. He was the only one who ever seemed to see her, to make time for her, to afford her the small pleasures a child should enjoy at such a young age. She was but a child of three or four when her brother first began to teach her the lessons she’d need for her survival. Seven years younger than the brother who came before her Ivanna was often left home alone during the day with no one but her slumbering father and Vlad’s hunting dogs for company. And so Vladimir made sure to teach her how to be quiet, how to stay out of reach of their father, how to stay safe.
Though her luck ran out one afternoon when her father awoke earlier than the norm she’d come to expect. Groggily he’d come outside at the sound of the noise she and the dogs were producing, and when one of the dogs grew aggressive due to rightfully perceiving him as a threat and coming in between her and the brute, Nikolay struck him down with an ax. When he reared on Ivanna grabbing her arm so violently it nearly dislodged from her shoulder, Vladimir came around back, having come home early. The sight of his beloved pup struck down and the man violently dragging along the little girl sent Vladimir into a fit of rage. He told her to go and hide as he confronted the man. Ivanna did just that, however she didn’t go inside the house but another hiding spot of hers from where she had a clear view of the scene. Everyone came to know the extreme end Vladimir served to his tyrant of a father, what no one not even Vlad knew was Ivanna had been witness to the entire gruesome deed. It’s a memory that has stayed with her and has directly influenced her association with violence throughout her life.
Violence and feelings of helplessness were all that plagued the young girl’s mind for a long while following her brother’s imprisonment. In the years she was meant to play and adventure as kids do she spent all her time at home looking after her younger brother. It was a responsibility initially belonging to her sister Anya, though not two years after Vlad was sent away the older girl left home to marry the boy she’d been so wrapped up in. It wasn’t lost on any of them what she wanted most of all was an escape from the misery that they’d all grown up in. Though Ivanna resented her at times for that choice, with time she would come to understand that decision even if it was one Ivanna herself would never have made. In her early teens, she already began taking up work waitressing to further support her family, with Maxim shouldering the brunt of the load as their brother Ivan began to spiral and fall into the worst of crowds and habits. All she wanted was to lessen the stress of her mother, and to make Vlad proud, proving she hadn’t forgotten him or his life lessons.
For a girl who grew up in such troubling circumstances, it became very important to take some control back, to find a way to defend herself and her family when needed. Like her brother who sacrificed his prime for her, like her mother who for years took the brunt of abuse from her father for them all. Which meant not only honing her acute intelligence but also learning to defend herself, because even at the age of fourteen she knew all too well the looks and leers she needed to stay far away from, of the reality of so many pretty young girls like herself coming from nothing and where they end up.
Life went on as-is for a time, Maxim was able to slowly bring brighter days to their table. Vlad would be coming home soon and Ivan had finally beat his vices and enlisted in the Russian Armed Forces to bring some much-needed discipline to his life. Anya was seemingly happy in her marriage, and expecting her second child. Sweet young Nikolai was the best of them having been small enough to have no memory of their father at all, and thus live without the traumas that plagued the rest of them. Fate, however, had something else entirely in store for them, a tragedy that would leave them splintered once more. One day only a few hours into her evening shift at work her younger brother came running to get her because their mother was hurt. Rushing to the hospital only to find her a bloody broken mess, she’d been beaten to a pulp, her face so swollen and bruised it was barely recognizable. It was an act committed by one of the cities known mafia leaders, a man who just didn’t know how to take no for answer.
Ivanna was lit with rage and anger, once again helpless to do anything. She made a promise to herself at that moment, that one day that feeling would be a long-forgotten memory and she’d make herself more than capable of protecting those she loves.
It wasn’t long after this incident that her brother was released from prison and in the wake of all that had happened Ivanna could only stand before him with her head hanging low as she delivered the news with the profound belief that it would never have happened if he had been with them, which made her ultimately feel she’d let him down entirely. When the now hardened man went into a fit of controlled rage with nothing but vengeance on his mind as he sought the man responsible, she wanted nothing more than to go with him, wanting to be a part of violence he would no doubt inflict on the man responsible for their mother’s death. But she also could not disobey him, when he said no. Many months later his search landed him in Launceston and not long after the job was done, she waited for him to send news of his return but that did not happen. In Launceston, Vladimir seemed to have found renewed purpose. A year later after taking care of business, she joined him there, ready to continue learning from the brother she’s always held in such revery.
Alongside training with Vladimir in various areas, Ivanna went on to enroll in college stateside as well. Majoring in Comparative Literature and Latin, more headstrong than ever, she was young, more than capable, had an acute intelligence much like her brother, but like many of the men in her family, no matter how controlled, an undeniable draw to violence. She gave her brother no complaints when it came to her training, working alongside him in his various jobs when he allowed it though her interactions with the mob directly were limited early on. Though it was only a matter of time before she found herself in audience with Aleksandr Vorshevsky himself, her experience in meeting him not unlike her brothers where it almost felt like the man was a hand god. Slowly she became inducted in the ranks making friends with other mob members and associates, most prominently Katarina Vorshevsky, Nina Kurylenko, Katya Makarova, and Yuri Yuditsky. It was alongside Yuri she developed her fascination with weaponry, spending nearly all her free time down in his vault customizing guns, taking them apart altering them, adapting their make-up until she knew each weapon she carried like the back of her hand.
Though no bond could replace that which she had with her family. Vladimir was the one person in the world Ivanna had blind faith in, she’d never known anyone as compassionate or strong as him, in her eyes, her big brother could do no wrong. The kind of respect he garnered, the way he carried himself was all she someday hoped to be as well. So when that pillar of strength was taken from her, the woman truly splintered and was set on a path to becoming the ruthless and cunning assassin she is today. After Vladimir’s death, Ivanna retreated into herself she’d never been the most talkative person to begin with, but afterward, for a time, she was nearly mechanical after finding that to be the only way to temper her rage and keep that desire to set all of Valence ablaze at bay. The reign of death that followed in Valence satiated her to some extent but she could never entirely get over the fact the knowledge that the man who pulled the trigger still lived.
And that was her state of mind when the prodigal son arrive in Launceston, Konstantin Vorshevsky. As Konstantin began to imbed himself into a position of leadership in Launceston and their interactions became more frequent, he recognized her potential and also her place of vulnerability that was her festering anger and frustration over her brother’s death. He knew all the right words, his disposition so charming and magnanimous she found herself entranced by all he could offer her. It wasn’t long after that she found herself in a new position within the Bravta, Konstantin all but had to nudge her in the right direction, at his side. His promises meant everything, and she proved herself more than capable of his ‘expectations’ of her. It was as if he’d tapped into that girl who’d made a promise to herself that one day she would no longer be weak, her evolution was her finding a way to keep that promise to herself.
Ivanna Dmitrieva has now been an assassin for the Russian mob for a little under four years. In that time she’s racked up a formidable body count, though with relative anonymity in the beginning. She hadn’t ever had a clear job title in her many years in the organization, people just knew of the skills she brought to the table, most of her tasks more niche coming from Aleksandr and his right hand as discretion was always her strong suit. Though she’s never been one to openly claim her kills and the like, she doesn’t enjoy the luxury of anonymity as much these days in Launceston most of all since word tends to get around.
Stealth, discretion and near surgical precision is her strong suit. The work she did prior too, molding her modus operandi considerably, having been a bounty hunter she knows how to get in and out undetected, to adapt and blend in, even her major in college contributing to her repertoire with her proficiency in many languages not native to her. She’s also keen in often staging her kills to look like an accident. Less about the theatrics and more about getting the job done efficiently, Konstantin’s secret weapon. And of course, her most promising asset being that much like her brother, she is known to be loyal to a fault, as long as her morale isn’t at compromise.
SOCIAL CONNECTIONS:
RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single. Antonio Ancelotti (ex-boyfriend, unplayable) FAMILY: Nikolay Dmitriev, Lidya Dmitrieva (parents, deceased), Vladimir, Ivan Dmitriev (brothers, deceased), Maxim, Nikolai Dmitriev (brothers), Vasily Fyodorov (nephew), Lily Mae Dmitrieva (niece, unplayable), Anya Vetrov (sister, unplayable), Andrei, Eduard Vetrov (nephews), Natalya Vetrova (niece, unplayable) CONNECTIONS:
Maksim Kurylenko: The Complication.  Despite not getting off on the best foot when they met years ago, Maksim and Ivanna developed a good working relationship over time stemming from their appreciation for each other’s competencies. A short while before Maksim made the move to London their relative friendship developed to something more. They never put any label on the relationship, though it was gradually progressing. All that came to halt when they came to a disagreement on how to handle a civilian who’d witnessed them in action. Ivanna was certain there were other ways of making her disappear and not talking, while Maksim didn’t want to take any chances. And though they decided not to take any drastic measures, he did so behind her back anyway. They fought, and she was very upset, not speaking to him for a bit. In this time he had to move to London. Leaving things up in the air.
Noa Halévy: Enemy. The moment they learned what faction the other belonged to was the moment they stopped liking each other. In another life, who knows, they could’ve been friends. In Launceston over the past few years, the two have a streak going with bodies piling up on both sides; one of the rare instances Ivanna’s directly involved herself in a personal rivalry.

Amelia - Chapter 5 - Part 1
(Thank you @flamaflavio for the Italian help! :D If I somehow messed it up in copy-pasting and clipping the beginning and ending off, please let me know... lol) ★
Consciousness returns to Amelia slowly. She is achy and heavy and shrouded in something soft and warm. Something cool brushes her face and it spurs a memory from long ago of a time when Mama was still alive; when she would sit by Amelia and Mattie’s bed while they were sick.
Amelia misses hearing her voice so much, it hurts.
An unfamiliar, floral smell pulls her out of her reverie and she opens her eyes to find a kind looking face smiling down at her.
“Ah, she is awake!”
Amelia blinks up at the unfamiliar face and, she can’t help but notice, the very large bust beside her. She stares, at a total loss for how to react. Aside from her mother, she’s never met another molly cat before. Her hair is short and pale and her ears are small and roundish, covered in long, white fur, that is not unlike Amelia’s.
“Tell me dear, how do you feel?” the cat asks in an unfamiliar, lilting accent, as she fussily adjusts and smooths Amelia’s covers. Which leads Amelia to her next discovery: she is in a bed. In a room? With… Oh! A window! The interior of the room is constructed primarily from wood but the window-side wall appears to be of the same Two-Cane’s stone that her house is made of. Finally, she can see that there is a third cat in the room standing behind the first and its another female cat with a sharp gaze. Her hair is much longer but her coloring is quite similar to the smiling cat’s. Amelia feels uncharacteristically shy in their presence.
“Oh, of course! You must be confused.” The kindly molly continues easily when Amelia fails to answer. “My name is Yekaterina and this is my sister, Natayla. We take care of you since you arrived. You were in such terrible condition!”
“I have been making sure you are safe, Katyusha.” Natalya says as though offended that her intentions have been misconstrued as kindness.
“Do not be silly, Natasha, we are all safe here.” Says, er, Katyusha? Natalya’s (Natasha’s?) expression goes slightly flat at her sister’s assurance. Her ears, which had been held back up to this point, flicker in annoyance as the tension she’d created melts away slightly. Apparently her meaning hadn’t been understood. Amelia chooses to let it go, too, as she’s a little too spacey to be buying needless fights right now. The kind-faced cat picks up a cup of water from a side table and offers it to Amelia, who sits up and takes it gratefully, downing it in one go.
“Thanks,” Amelia says after catching most of her breath. “… Yekata— um..”
“Oh, call me Katya, dear. Here everyone does.”
“Thank you, Katya…” And because she feels awkward without addressing the other cat in the room, even if she’s not here to be friendly, Amelia says, “Thank you, Natalya.”
Natalya looks away disinterestedly but Katya smiles.
“I’m Amelia. Um… Where am I?”
“Amelia. It is nice to meet you.” Katya says warmly. “We call this place ‘Sanctuary.’ It is very safe place, hiding south of Ransen. Tell me, how did you come to be in river?”
Amelia’s memory is such a haze right now, she can hardly make sense of anything. River? Did something like that happen? Why in the world is she south of Ransen? When was she in a riv—
—SLAM—
Amelia and Katya both flinch at the sound of a slamming door coming from somewhere outside the room. She can hear indistinct, muffled shouts and stomping footsteps growing closer. Katya huffs quietly and Amelia glances at her, looking to measure the possibility of approaching danger through her expression. Apparently there is none. Katya smiles wryly, shaking her head. Natalya merely rolls her eyes.
The door to the room rattles. The voice has quieted into a ranting hiss as it swings open to reveal a cat backing into the room, carrying something large and heavy in both arms.
“— uscire per dieci cazzo di minuti senza che questo posto vada a puttane! Non posso credere che abbia lasciato—”
That is definitely not a language Amelia understands.
After taking a step or two into the room the new cat cuts off mid-tirade and freezes when he looks up from the pile of things in his arms to lock eyes with Amelia. For a long moment no one moves or says anything. He looks startled, donning an expression that probably matches the one Amelia’s wearing. The sharp change in his demeanor would probably have made Amelia laugh if she weren’t so out of it. As it happens, all she can do is stare blankly at the intruder.
“You’re awake.” He says, lamely. Amelia blinks, watching him step slowly backward to stand in front of the door frame. His eyes swim around the room for half of a moment as he stands there trying not to look flustered. “Don’t worry, I’ll stay by the door.”
“Okay?” Amelia responds, not entirely sure why she would be worried. She’d been startled, yes, but after years of sizing up opponents, she can see that this cat is clearly more defense than offense. Amelia glances back to Katya when she hears quiet giggling. She’s hiding a smile behind her hand politely and attempting to stifle her laughing. The tom’s face flushes and he clears his throat before continuing.
“I found these up river.” He holds up the lump in his arms and Amelia realizes that he’s carrying her coat and her pack! “They had your scent so I brought them for you. I’ll uh… put them here.”
He sets Amelia’s belongings on a chair placed near the door. It sure is nice of him to bring her stuff in.
“Oh! Wow. Thank you.” Amelia says. Huh… Why didn’t she have them on her in the first place?
“Amelia, this is Lovino.”Katya says cheerfully gesturing to Lovino and then back to Amelia. “He found you this morning in nearby river and brought you here. Lovi, she is Amelia.”
“I was in a river…?” Amelia says distractedly. Ah, right, they had just been talking about that.
“Well, Amelia, you were soaking wet and freezing cold when I found you lying beside it. I thought you must have been in it for a while.” Lovino explains. “How are you doing?”
That’s… a good question. She hasn’t quite worked that out yet. Amelia urges her stalling thoughts to focus on her body signals. Aside from full body aches and what feels like several, stinging scratches and bruises, she can feel a twisted ankle and a sharp pain in her back. It’s weird that she can’t remember how she got this way…
“Well… I’ve been better. I should be fine after I get some rest. Um… Thank you for taking me in.” Amelia rubs her eyes, willing the fog to lift from her mind. She vaguely remembers being very cold. Remembers his voice; low and melodic, worried and urgent. Amelia takes a closer look at her rescuer. He is probably close to Mattie’s height, shoulders not quite as broad, but he looks older and more filled out. She can see a shortish tail waving curiously behind his legs and he’s got a persistent furrow in his brow and a cautious air about him. By the sound of it, this stranger may have saved her life.
“Wow… I really owe you one, huh?” She murmurs, coming to realize the gravity of the situation.
Lovino repels the thought with a wave of his hand and a shake of his head and Amelia finds herself moved by the gesture.
“You owe nothing, and you’re welcome to stay here.” He says, turning to leave. He nods to the other two. “Thanks for tending to her, Katya, ...Natalya. Dinner will be ready soon.”
And with that he slips out, closing the door behind him. Amelia returns her thoughts to retracing her memories… She and Mattie had… left home. Right. Then they… got caught up in that business with the village cats…
Amelia’s dawning horror comes with a flood of vivid, terrible memories. Of awful cats attacking, of that creepy nightmare with the snake, and—
“Shit! Katya,” Amelia turns to her abruptly, forgetting about the injured muscles in her back for a moment. She winces while Katya stares at her, mouth open. It seems Amelia hadn’t noticed that she’d been talking. Oops. “Oh, sorry! But uh. My brother, Mattie. How is he? Is he in another room around here?”
“Your… brother?” Katya says, raising her eyebrows and looking back to Natalya in confusion. A weird expression flashes across Natalya’s face before settling back into disinterest and she responds.
“You are the only one Lovino brought here. He did not mention seeing anyone else.”
It looks like Natalya is going to continue but Amelia has gotten out of bed, onto her feet and she’s out the door before she can realize that she’s really not all that stable on them right now.
“Lovino!” She calls down the hallway outside while stumbling into the wall on her right. Lovino is farther up but he seems to have heard her; he’s turned back toward her looking halfway incredulous. Amelia slides ahead a few steps using the wall for support. Damned ankle.
“Woah! Hey, stop!” Lovino says dashing back to her. He takes hold of her shoulders to help steady her before she can fall on her face. “You need to lay down or you’re going to make that worse.”
“Did you see anyone else out there when you found me?” Amelia grabs onto his arms, both for balance and to ensure that he’s listening to her carefully. “Was there any sign of a tom cat?”
Maybe she sounds a little desperate or scared because Lovino stops trying to nudge her back into the room and looks her directly in the eyes, deadly serious.
“Did he hurt you? Are you being followed?”
Amelia blinks in surprise before shaking her head.
“What? No! No. He’s my brother. I was traveling with him but we were attacked and that’s kind of the last thing… I remember…” She trails off at the telling lack of recognition in Lovino’s expression. Amelia’s breath speeds up and her chest tightens painfully. She always knows where Mattie is. She has always known where she could find him when she needed to. And now she can’t. She feels lightheaded.
“Lovi, over here!” Amelia hears from somewhere. Another pair of arms supports her left side while Lovino takes over her right. Other murmuring voices trickle in around her and she vaguely registers that several faces have poked out of the doors that line the hallway. It’s making her feel awfully claustrophobic. The tightness in her chest continues tightening.
“Calm down, Amelia.” Lovino says maneuvering her back through the door of the bedroom. “Breathe. Sit and tell us what happened.”
★ TBC ★ Comments and critique are always welcome! :D Thanks for reading! Edit: wow it took me a long time to realize I mis-labeled this as chapter 4. It is most definitely chapter 5. Fixed.

Justicar au
N/A: A new au for this forgotten idea. Yandy Kurt? I´ll try to make this as a mystery plot…Try is the word here, also, I know you don´t like Justicar Kurt in canon, but, here is a Completely new AU, and, while you may not like him at least I hope to clean him from the association with Lighting House Kurt.

In one of the most popular areas for young people, and especially hipsters, two women are enjoying a nice stroll on the area and decide to drink a hot chocolate to finishes the day.
The first is Illyana Rasputin, her blonde hair with fringe and rose checks is a give away of her presence and next to her is Kitty Pryde with her rounded face, chestnut hair and doe eyes. Two friends that are enjoying a lazy Saturday.
“So, do you really want to leave? I told you if you want to stay is fine” Yana nonchalantly replied once they get their hot choco and are on their table. And Kitty shakes her head politely.
“Thank you, but, I think I´m ready to move out on my own” Kitty explained in a kinder tone. “When I arrive at this University it was to get a better life, yet, I meet myself into trouble, I´m forever grateful you helped me” her tone is sincere as she is looking at her best friend “but, now that I have a job and I can walk on my own legs, I want to have my own space” Kitty respond and Yana nods understanding Kitty very well, the Rasputins are loaded but Yana is still forced to live near her brother since he is that kind of older brother.
“In that case, Katya, let me ask something different, are you ready to let go of your past?” Yana asked knowing that Kitty´s foster family was anything but great, true, they didn´t hit her or try to have intercourse of any type with Kitty, but still, the family take her in for the money and nothing else.
Kitty sighs softly, still remembering her old life and the best friend she left behind. Sometimes, she still caught herself thinking about him. No response was need. And Yana, bless her heart, change the subject.
“Katya maybe is the best for you to leave, my brother is going to receive one of his ’‘visitors”, if you know what I mean" Yana tried to be as soothing and kind she can, but, Kitty only raise an eyebrow at this.
“Yana, I´m not in love with your brother, I saw him with two women once, and trust me, I didn´t break down in tears, I feel nothing for him, except gratitude for letting me stay in his house” Kitty spoke sincerely. Many people wonder if she and Piotr are an item since he let her stay in his fancy house, but, fo her part all Kitty feels is gratitude and Piotr never try to cash this gratitude in any inappropriate way.
Yana sighs in relief. “Just to make sure, you know me, I don´t know much about relationships and such, but, I can say you two aren´t well matched…you can get something better”
“Ah, thank you, Yana. See? That´s why you´re deadly cute” and Yana responds by showing her tongue at Kitty.
_______________________________
This society works through rules and regulations. Justicar exists to help the society to work, of course, any childish notion of making the world a Utopia is quickly shoved aside as nothing in life is black and white.
Justicar is divided into two non-officials groups, one ruled by Magneto that prefers to help the mutants more than humans, and the other is guided by Professor X who think humans deserve protection, both have noble and not so noble reasons for this division.
Betsy and Brian Braddock are the leaders of the group Professor X formulated, and, have the characteristic of being obsessed with one case in particular. The Ferro mafia is responsible for tons of crimes, one of the most famous is the death of the president of the US, meddling with Brazil´s affair and, most important, is responsible for the death of Mr and Mrs Braddock leaving Brian and Betsy being orphans.
“No one knows where they are” Brian mutters looking at the panel in front of them. Many tacks being used to illustrate the activities of the Ferro mafia. Brian only stops looking at the panel when his wife enters the room putting a hand on his shoulder and jolting him to reality.
“Brian, please, is time to go home” and Brian nods smiling at his wife. His twin sister is looking at the tracks and the files in her hands, where is Ferro?
Meanwhile, Kurt Cadbury is here. Helping with the paperwork of his last case, a man found out his wife cheat on him and murder her and hide the body, however, guilt rotten in his life and the man, in a true Edgar Allan Poe´s tale, confess the crime.
It was a case filled with regret, in the end, a letter of the wife found saying how she reget the affair and did that because she thought her husband didn´t care anymore. Kurt can´t sympathise with a murder, much less an imbecile, however, he can sympathise with the victim. She loved her stupid husband and paid the price for this.
Kurt looks at his own office for a moment, the man is a rising star in Justicar and is all thanks to his cunning and prowess in fighting, however, while his ascension is always a good thing to think about, not a day passes he does not catch thinking about his best friend. Only when she is gone is that Kurt understands why she wanted to leave so much…
You only know what you have when you lost. He thought bitterly. And now I understand what regret means.
Kurt is lost in his thoughts, not even paying attention to more speeches about the Ferro Mafia and each empty lead they get it, now, Kurt is visiting Memory Lake as he often does.
“Kurt?” Logan asked in his trademark way and is rewarded with his attention. “shift is over, do you want a beer?”
“Magical words, Logan, mein Freund, magical words”
There´s not one single day that Kurt Cadbury won´t stop thinking about his dear best friend and how he wishes to meet her again.
______________________ The mansion where Piotr lives is all thanks to his work, his neighbours think Piotr got the money thanks to his artistic work, and while his artwork is gorgeous is not this primary source of income, but, this is something not even Yana knows.
As he knows his sister and her friend are having a nice day out, Piotr feels confident in answering to his more private matters and for work, sometimes, both.
Looking at his watch for a moment, Piotr knows is time to meet with his team workers to thinking in a new tact to enter and leave the country, after all, Justicar is getting closer and closer.
The man opens the door and smiles seeing who it is. “You´re late”
________________________ After a nice day out, Kitty and Yana are back to retrieve. Kitty even shows her new apartment and is cosy enough, and the two women are more than ready to go home and relax. “So, when you will move out?” “In a few weeks, I have to assert somethings with the landlord and with you two” “Hey, do you think I could convince Piotr to have my own place?” “You´re Yana the deadly cute one” “Shut up”
And they are inside the house and the good humour dies as the house is in Hazzard situation. Yana shouts her brother´s name and nothing and Kitty can feel something is odd and awful is going on.
The mansion is empty, which, come to think of it, is an odd signal, no maids or servants are to be found and the house looks messy indicating a fight happens here.
Climbing the stairs Kitty screams as she meets Piotr on the second floor near her own room, that is guest room number 2, cover in bruises and blood, Kitty lowers herself to see if Piotr has any pulse and …nothing.
Yana heard the scream and finally meet her brother, only not in the way she was hoping for. “Piotr!?” Yana goes to his body and calls for him in Russian and Kitty calls the ambulance only then she realizes her hand is cover with his blood.
_________________
The ambulance arrives but there´s nothing they could have done. Soon, the Justicar is informed of the situation and are called to investigate. Logan and Kurt arrive in the scene and spot Yana and Kitty still with Piotr´s blood in their hands, well, he can still smell the blood, so to him, it does make pretty visible.
Kurt is taking the testimony of the medic about Piotr´s health and only he got a good picture he goes to help Logan, that once again, never wait for him, they were enjoying a beer when Betsy, of all people, called saying this is an emergency.
Kurt´s eyes focus on Yana who is crying and Kurt can feel sympathy for the young woman and would offer a tissue for her, when, someone else did that for Yana and that shock him.
Kitty Pryde is right there next to Yana Rasputin drying her tears. Kurt is looking at her for the first time since that incident, regardless of what he is feeling, Kurt needs to be professional. He offers tissue for the two women and is inwardly happy to see Kitty reconize him.
“Miss Rasputin, Miss Pryde, normally we would like to make questions about the case, I know this is a delicate situation, but, whatever information you two can share may help the case” Kurt speaks gentle and Logan, never once for kind words, only nods to reaffirms his words.
“Ok, let´s do this already,” Kitty said looking at Yana who nods.
Kurt can be professional and can think of all the outcomes this case may lead.

The Prettiest Girl
A gift for @aph-brightside for the event @aphsecretsanta
I hope you like this, I tried to include your three ships but the main couple is Turkey x Ukraine :) Merry Christmas!
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13157676/1/The-Prettiest-Girl
https://archiveofourown.org/works/17156936
They met in a day when they weren’t expecting anything special to happen. It was a normal day of winter, it was snowing and people were getting ready for Christmas. That encounter was short, but he wouldn’t forget those pretty blue eyes like the sky; her golden hair like honey and that sweet smile that could make everything get better.
“Sir, would you like to order something else?” she asked again.
Sadik couldn’t talk; it was as if he had forgotten how to do it. He wasn’t a man easy to intimidate, but that woman even if her face was like an angel’s, didn’t let him make a coherent sentence.
His friends looked at him. Heracles shook his head with annoyance and Gupta wanted to laugh. The woman looked at the three men; she seemed a little bit confused. Sadik couldn’t react.
“Miss, could we have three slices of cake? I think our friend had a short circuit and he won’t talk for a while” Gupta said.
“Ok, I hope he is fine” she said with a smile and a look full of concern.
Sadik cursed in his mind. He felt really stupid, he made a joke of himself, but he didn’t expect to feel like that. He wasn’t a ladies man or a flirty guy, and he didn’t consider himself as ugly either. He was more confident. However he lost all that confidence as soon as he saw her.
“What a pretty waitress” Gupta said.
“You’re right” Heracles commented.
“Shut up!” Sadik said and blushed.
They waited a couple of minutes until the waitress came back with their order. Sadik looked at his watch and he said he was late for an important appointment. Heracles and Gupta looked at each other. They knew he was lying.
Sadik felt so dumb for running away. However he didn’t want to do something embarrassing again. If he wanted to come back and see her, he’d do it alone. And he promised himself he’d do it soon.
He tried to talk to her the next day, but she wasn’t there. Instead her boss was going to take his order. Sadik felt a bit disappointed and relieved at the same time. Before the man took his order, he asked him:
“Hey, do you know where the blond waitress is? Just by chance” Sadik asked as if he didn’t care.
“Which one? We have two blond waitresses” he asked confused.
“You know, the tall one; the girl with short blond hair and pret… hmm blue eyes” Sadik said annoyed.
“Oh, that must be Katya. This is her day off, but she would be here tomorrow, if you want to see her” the man said in a teasing tone.
“Yeah, whatever, it’s not that I care, I just ask” he replied, annoyed. He knew his face was red.
“I hope you have good intentions with her, because she is mon petit ours’ older sister”
Sadik rolled his eyes. It was an irony how grumpy he felt since she appeared in his life, but it was very embarrassing how everyone could notice his interest. Was it that obvious? Anyways, at least he knew her name, and that made him happy all day.
Katya, Katya, Katya, he said in his mind in his way home and before he fell asleep. The next day would be the day when he would talk with her. He was nervous, but he tried to be calm because it wasn’t the end of the world.
Sadik looked for her, but he didn’t saw her. He thought that maybe she was busy. So he waited. Then he decided to go to the bathroom and he ran into a waitress and she spilled a cup of hot coffee on him.
“I’m really sorry, I am so clumsy” she said nervously.
“It’s ok, it was my fault, don’t worry” then he realized he was talking with that girl and he forgot how hot that coffee was.
“Please, come with me, I’ll help you to clean your coat” she said, taking his hand.
She washed part of his coat, but she really doubted she could do a good job there. He told her it was fine, anyways he wanted to wash it. Then they looked at each other in silence.
She noticed that he was a very tall and built guy, his skin was tanned, and he had pretty eyes and a confident smile. She thought he was such a handsome man. She wanted to giggle because she recognized him; he had a “short circuit” the other day.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
“Nothing” she excused. She felt her face was red.
He thought that she was too adorable. That was his chance.
“Hey, since I think I caused you a trouble, what if I invite you a coffee?” she offered.
Sadik was surprised, because he was about to ask her the same thing. But a woman with such initiative was great.
“Alright, but I would like that you accompany me” he said.
She blushed again. She wanted to decline his invitation, but he seemed to be a kind person. She nodded; anyways she’d have lunch in some minutes. Talking with someone that nice would be better than see her boss, Francis, flirting with her brother, even though she was happy for them.
“By the way, my name is Sadik” he said.
“I’m Katya. Nice to meet you”
Katya realized that talking with him was funny. He seemed to be a very interesting person, he was very talkative and he knew a lot about the city because he was a tourist guide. He was born in Turkey and he liked to cook, especially sweet foods.
He asked her about herself. She said she wasn’t a good speaker, but since she was having a good time with him, she told him that she was the oldest of three siblings, she had a cat and she liked to bake bread. Her favorite flower was the sunflower.
When her break was about to finish, he asked her to see her again. She hesitated, but how to say no to his stunning smile. So she accepted and he felt the luckiest man on earth.
Two days later, they went to the cinema. He let her choose the movie; she chose a comedy that, for his surprise, he also enjoyed. Then they went to have dinner in a small restaurant near there. They talked about lots of things, and he was every time more interested in her.
Even thought she was the sweetest girl he had ever met, there was some melancholy in her eyes and in the way she talked. He didn’t have the courage to ask her what was happening because that was their first date, and probably she could feel uncomfortable.
Since then, they hanged out every day. Sometimes they visited some important places and he told her stories about it. Other times, they cooked together, they baked bread or cakes. Once they went on a double date with her friend Matthew and his boyfriend, Carlos. That had been a funny day, and even Sadik and Carlos became good friends.
Also he gave her flowers, sometimes sunflowers, sometimes tulips. She considered that it was a very romantic gesture, but she didn’t know if it was right to deserve all that attention.
Sadik thought something was wrong. He was afraid that probably she didn’t like him back. Maybe he wasn’t her type. He got worried, because he thought she was a great person and he really liked her. The next date was the same, but this time she was the one who talked.
“Are you sure you like me?” she asked, embarrassed.
“Yeah, why I shouldn’t do it?” he asked, confused.
“Because I am not as pretty as other girls”
“Don’t say that Katya. You are beautiful the way you are”
“But I am taller than others… and my curves… and I am so clumsy…”
Then he realized what was bothering her. She was always an angel of sweet smile, how she could feel bad about her body. He took her hand and both took a few steps.
“Close your eyes”
Katya was confused, how he told her that kind of things in a moment like that. Then he asked her to open her eyes and she saw her own reflection. She turned around and saw Sadik looking at her with concerned eyes.
“Did you see her? That’s the prettiest woman on earth”
“Sadik…” she sobbed.
“You are a great person. What if you are tall or clumsy? You are sweet, kind and a good listener. You taught me how to bake and lots of new recipes. You are beautiful the way you are. I really like you, Katya.” he said.
Then she hugged him. No one ever had told her such nice words. She knew he was being honest, she trusted him enough to know it, the way he was looking at her told her how much he liked her.
He wiped her tears away and kissed her forehead. Then they kissed. For Sadik she was the prettiest woman on earth, and no one could tell him otherwise. Katya was happy, maybe her clumsiness wasn’t a bad thing because thanks to it she met him.

Abdication, a Royal Romance fanfic
Tumblr media
If you’ve read my ‘Summer of Love’, the latter part of this will make sense. As far as faceclaim goes, I wanted to put across how young Liam/Brad is when Leo abdicates. I’m currently enjoying exploring the relationship between Brad/Liam and Drake. If you hadn’t already worked it out, this takes place when Leo abdicates from the throne of Cordonia.
Abdication
‘I had to tell you first little bro, as it will hit you hardest. I’ve met the most incredible girl, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I was never cut out for this life and I think you knew it all along. Brad, little Bro, I’m abdicating. You’ll be King when Father steps down.’
Brad’s life had stalled at that instant. He was stunned, devastated – lost. He wished he could talk to Drake, but he was thousands of miles away at College in Texas. He loved his country and had planned all along to serve his people in some way or other, but to suddenly have such a burden dropped on him was crushing.
Constantine was stoic as always, putting on a brave face for the people. In private he ranted about Leo’s irresponsibility. Madeleine, Leo’s intended bride was stony faced. She had never been emotional, known to all as the Ice Queen, cold and calculating. Free-spirited Leo would have been miserable with her. Brad wondered if his father would insist on him marrying her instead, and the thought made his blood run cold.
Beyond the task of learning all the protocol and diplomacy needed to be King – he had sat in on all the meetings along with Leo but never dreamed he would have to implement it – was the matter of the Royal Succession. Constantine was getting older and Brad needed to think of finding a Queen-to-be worthy of Cordonia and capable of bearing a son. He had never expected to be allowed to marry exactly who he wanted but being second in line might have allowed him some extra element of choice. Ordinary people married for love – he would marry out of duty. He might be allowed a mistress, at least the laws of Cordonia allowed for some leeway there, but he did not relish the thought. None of the ladies of the court inspired him over much though many of them were pleasant. A life of service to his country stretched ahead into the future.
The De Montford sisters had bid Drake and himself goodbye when summer had ended, revealing that they were to be married themselves within months, to two brothers from another duchy. The two friends had been their last glorious fling, and he would carry the memory and experiences they had given him for the rest of his life. The summerhouse was now bare, stripped of the furnishings the girls had put there for their assignations.
He had not been chaste since – word of his performance spread so he had managed to sneak out to meet one or two girls, and Bastien had been surprisingly accommodating in letting some into the palace. None of them compared to the sisters and he did not engage emotionally with anyone although he was kind and courteous to them. He found he had a penchant for having sex in risky places where he might be discovered – no time for sweet nothings when a security guard or nobleman might walk past the grove of trees or out on a balcony. Emotional engagement would lead to affection, affection would lead to attachment, and that would complicate matters when he had to choose a bride – and that had become even more vital since the abdication. Sex for him had become a need to slake an appetite, like eating when he was hungry.
Drake had gone to college and only returned briefly for Christmas and a few weeks in the summer. They were still firm friends and spoke every month or so on the phone, but they were not as close as they had been. Drake was studying vetinerarian medicine, hoping to specialise in equestrian medicine, and who knew where in the world he might end up practising. He was in his second year of study when Leo made his shock announcement in January. Brad missed his friend’s down to earth attitude, scepticism and mockery of the court nobles around him, and his take on the new situation was sorely missed. Talking on the phone did not cut it for Brad.
He grew listless. The world just didn’t seem to have any colour in it, and food tasted like cardboard. He let his grooming regime go, and when Maxwell tried to cheer him up he smiled obligingly, but inside he felt numb. The endless meetings he now had to attend were meaningless. He was just cruising through life on autopilot. He didn’t realise he was sinking deeper and deeper into a black depression.
 ----------
Maxwell Beaumont sat looking at his phone, his finger hovering over Leo’s number. He didn’t know where he was or what he was doing but he had to get in touch with him. He’d already thought of texting Drake, but he was thousands of miles away – the chance was Leo was a lot closer, somewhere in Europe hopefully. He composed a message and sat looking at it for a while before he hit send
Hey man, need to talk to you. Urgent. Code red
He sat and waited, but no response came. He sighed heavily and made his way to bed, leaving his phone on the side table. At 2 am it pinged with a message, and he sat up blearily to read it
What’s up, Maxxy?
He tapped away
It’s about Brad. He’s not so good.
Yeah, sorry about the abdication thing. He’ll make a great King
He’s taken it bad. He’s hardly eating
Sorry to hear
Barely comes out of his room
Sounds bad
We have to do something
Can’t you talk to him
IDK what to say
Sorry for the mess
He needs someone to talk to
Don’t think I’d do the trick
Dammit Leo. He’s in pieces
There was an agonising pause before the next text, and just when Max though that was it, his answer came.
I have an idea
Oh yeah?
We need Drake
He’s in Texas, remember?
I’m in the States. Leave it with me
 ---------
Drake had read the press reports in disbelief. He had called Brad but he had not answered first time. On the third attempt he got through. The prince sounded tired and non-committal. All the life had gone out of his voice, and he couldn’t get anything out of him about his real feelings. He had banged his fist on the desk after with frustration. He was furious with Leo and desperately wanted to go back, but he couldn’t just up and leave. He called Constantine and asked for a plane to take him back at Spring Break, but he had refused.
‘My son has advisers to help him, your input is not necessary.’ he had said. Pompous old fool, he thought. He never was particularly fatherly, always more concerned about State matters than his family’s well-being.
He sat at his desk in his dorm trying to cram for an exam, wearing earphones to help him concentrate. His room overlooked the sports field, and he became aware of a commotion outside. There was a vibration in the air that got stronger and eventually made his chest resonate with the thump thump thump of helicopter blades. He wondered if one of the college footballers had been injured and the air ambulance had been called in. He took his earphones out and took a look; it was a private helicopter landing on the football field, and campus security were making their way out to it as the rotors slowed.
He squinted as he saw two men get out – two very familiar figures. After a moment of disbelief he rushed to cram all his clothes into a bag and looked out again. A dark haired man stood talking to security and the other ran toward his building. He grabbed his bag and went to meet him, almost hitting him with the door as he entered the building.
‘Drake, we need you to come back. Brad’s in a bad way.’ said Leo. Drake nodded and in seconds he was airborne, the helicopter flying himself, Leo and Bastien to the airport.
 -------------
It was a long flight from Texas to Cordonia, and he had slept some of the way, but not before having a heated exchange with Leo. The noise in the helicopter had not allowed for conversation and after that it was somewhat complicated getting access to the private jet, so he waited until they were airborne. He didn’t trust himself not to punch the ex Crown Prince, so was glad of the air turbulence that necessitated the wearing of lap belts. Bastien would probably step in if things got bad.
‘What the fuck Leo – how could you do this? How could you drop something like that on Brad?’ Leo had the grace to look ashamed.
‘I really didn’t think he’d take it so bad. I’d dropped enough hints. You know what a terrible King I’d have made. Brad is perfect for it’
‘Yes, he is, but that’s not the point. He looked up to you Leo, you’re his idol. He was ready to serve Cordonia, but the difference between serving and being responsible for every policy, every treaty and trade agreement, every damn noble and citizen is an entirely different thing.’
‘I truly am sorry. All I can say is, when you fall in love, you’ll know how I feel. I want to spend every waking moment with Katya.’
‘Where is she then? You’re awake, and she’s not here. What is she, some sort of Sleeping Beauty who’s slumbering away the time you’re absent?’ Leo flushed and looked angry – something Drake had never seen in all his years of living at the Palace.
‘Careful what you say Drake, my man. I’m here to fetch you thousands of miles to help my little bro. I don’t think my support and advice would cut it right now, as I’m the cause of it all. We need that Walker magic.’ Drake wanted so hard to punch Leo’s smug face it hurt. Except he wasn’t smug, he was a likeable guy just like Brad, and it was hard to imagine he was capable of intentionally hurting anyone, much less his own younger brother. But that had apparently been short circuited by some girl, someone who wasn’t good enough to be Queen and who had tempted him to give everything up. He wondered how the brothers could possibly be so different from their father. Perhaps the strain of ruling did things to a man. He feared for Brad’s likeable nature.
He told himself love wasn’t for him. He had never felt a jot of affection for the noble ladies who treated him like a piece of meat. He had some encounters with girls at College, but even though they weren’t noble or entitled, again he always felt like an object to be used and thrown away. He still felt attracted to them, but in his experience none of them took the trouble to find out about the real him. He was just someone to while away the time before looking for some poor sap to pay the bills and have babies with. He was always extra careful to take precautions just in case any of them were trying to trap him into domestication.
He had turned away from Leo in disgust and slept away the rest of the journey. It was Bastien who awoke him as they approached the runway. Leo stayed in the jet, and Drake did not ask where he was going. All the way to the palace he tried to imagine how Brad must be feeling. Bastien said he was barely eating and had not left his room for days. He stopped for nothing once he got to the Palace and went straight to his friend’s suite. He was starving and before he went in, he asked Bastien to arrange for food to be sent along as soon as possible.
The door to Brad’s suite was unlocked. Apparently, he was in his bedroom, so Drake knocked there and spoke in a clear tone.
‘Brad – it’s me, Drake. Let me in.’ For a moment there was silence, then he heard shuffling and the door lock clicked. Nothing else happened, and he opened the door. The room was in disarray, clothes strewn across the floor, the bed unmade. Brad was normally tidy to the point of obsession, so this was a bad sign. Brad was walking away from the door, toward the window. Drake stepped in and followed him. The Prince barely seemed to notice him and gazed out over the garden.
‘I wonder, would she like the way the maze has turned out?’ he said softly. Drake knew he was talking about his mother, who had left designs for the garden before her untimely death. Brad’s first floor room overlooked that part of the garden. He said he’d asked for that suite, so he could feel closer to her. He turned to Drake ‘What do you think?’
‘I don’t know Brad, I never met her.’ he said with regret. He and his family had only moved into the Palace after Brad’s mother’s death, when he was very young, and Savannah was barely walking. He was shocked at Brad’s appearance – he had not shaved for days, and Drake had never seen him unshaven. There were dark shadows under his eyes and his skin looked sallow. He wore his pyjamas and dressing gown, and although they did not hang off him, his usual upright posture was gone. His clothes did not look fresh and clean either, and normally Brad only wore immaculately laundered and pressed garments.  It was pretty obvious that he had not showered for a while either.
Brad sat on the edge of the bed and sighed heavily. Now was not the time to mince words.
‘Brad, you look like shit.’ The young Prince – now Crown Prince, Drake reminded himself, hung his head dejectedly.
‘How am I going to do it, Drake? I never thought I’d be King.’
‘Brad, you may not have expected it, but you were born for it.’ Drake said. Brad drew in a long breath, looking up at nothing in particular, his chin thrust forward, his shoulders slumped. Drake continued. ‘You know Leo would have done a lousy job. He’s a free spirit’
‘He didn’t give me any time. He just told me and that was it.’
‘It was shitty what Leo did, and he didn’t think that through. He genuinely thought you were the better man, and he’s right. Cordonia needs you, and you need to get a grip. How long is it since you had a shave?’ Brad looked puzzled.
‘I – I don’t know.’ he said, running his hand over his chin. Drake heard the door to the Prince’s suite open and close, and the sound of a trolley being brought along the corridor. Drake went to Brad and gently put his hand on his shoulder, pressing him forward to guide him to his feet. Brad responded almost automatically, his eyes blank.
‘Well your Highness, I have had a long flight and I’m starving. I ordered breakfast in your study. Go freshen up and see me there.’
Drake went through to the study, hoping Brad would respond to his prompts. He devoured bacon and eggs and buttered toast. He drank an entire pot of coffee and ordered more by popping his head out into the corridor outside the suite. Brad emerged from the bathroom, still unshaven but looking as if he had washed his face and had a clean dressing gown on. Drake gave him a firm pat on the back and guided him to the study.
Brad sat heavily on a chair in front of the table laid out with the remains of Drake’s breakfast. When he didn’t respond any further than staring at it, Drake poured him some orange juice and buttered some toast. He handed the glass to Brad, and again he looked at it. Drake took a glass too and clinked it with the Prince.
‘Bottoms up’ he intoned solemnly, and at last the corners of Brad’s mouth twitched, and he took a sip as Drake did. He choked, and Drake got up to pat him on the back.
‘Better start with water then.’ he said, and poured a glass. ‘Just sip.’ Brad did as he was told, his gaze starting to focus on the food in front of him. ‘See anything that takes your fancy?’ asked Drake.
‘Boiled egg and soldiers.’ said Brad absently, and Drake texted Bastien to get the ball rolling.
‘You can have toast while we’re waiting for the egg.’ suggested Drake. ‘Don’t make me do the airplane thing.’ Again the corners of Brad’s mouth twitched, this time creating the ghost of a smile. He picked up a triangle, took a bite and started to chew. He swallowed after a while and then spoke.
‘Mother used to cut the toast into triangles and set it out like a Christmas Tree’ he said, a soft expression crossing his face ‘She called it Christmas toast, and made it on my birthday too, and called that Birthday toast.’
‘I’m glad you have that memory of her.’ said Drake. Brad continued eating, a little colour returning to his pale face.
‘Are you on break from College?’ he asked. Drake did not have the heart to tell him he’d dropped everything in the middle of exams.
‘Yes, I thought I’d come over and see how you were doing.’
‘That’s good of you. Did father send a jet, or did you have to book on a commercial flight?’ He stared off into the middle distance as he ate, not avoiding eye contact but almost oblivious to the need to look at another human being.
‘I came by jet with Bastien.’ Drake didn’t think it was wise to mention Leo again in case he undid all the good that he hoped he had done so far. The boiled egg and pot of coffee arrived. Brad reached for the coffee, but Drake stopped him ‘Easy tiger, get some more in your stomach before you go for the hard stuff.’ Brad seemed a little steadier and made short work of knocking the top off his egg and looked to enjoy dipping the ready cut fingers of toast into the yolk. Drake drank more coffee and surveyed the food on the table. He peeled and ate a banana, and Brad eyed the fruit with interest as he cleared his plate.
‘I think that might be enough for you now, Brad.’ advised Drake. ‘How about you have a bath? I’ll get you some clean clothes too.’ Brad shrugged.
‘If you say so.’ he said, and Drake went through to the bathroom to draw a bath. Brad followed him after a while and started to strip.
‘Woah Brad, the last time I saw you naked we were with Annabelle and Lisa.’ protested Drake. ‘I’ll help if you want, but you’re a grown ass man.’ Brad looked indignant.
‘Okay, I’ll wait until you’re gone. Get out and let me bathe in private – if you please.’ Drake was surprised at Brad’s sudden change in manner, and gave him a mock bow.
‘Your Majesty.’ he intoned, and Brad put his hand over his eyes.
‘I’m sorry Drake, that was crass. I really appreciate you coming. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.’
‘I suspect a lot of it is shock, but it doesn’t matter what’s wrong. What does matter is that you get better. One step at a time Brad - have a bath, shave and put some clean clothes on, and we’ll go get some fresh air.’
 -------
The two friends found themselves at the lake next to the summer house in the cool winter air. Brad was clean shaven and dressed in a soft shirt with a fine woollen jumper over it, winter jacket and woollen scarf and pressed trousers. Drake as always wore jeans, t shirt and denim shirt, topped with a bomber jacket zipped up against the cold.
Brad picked up a flat stone and held it in his hand, studying its shape and weight. He smiled at Drake.
‘Best of three?’ he asked, but Drake shook his head.
‘I never lose a bet with you, and right now you need some positivity in your life.’ Brad nodded and gestured toward the summer house.
‘Do you remember…’
‘Oh boy, do I remember.’ replied Drake with a grin. ‘Perhaps you need to get laid.’
‘Perhaps. But it’s even riskier for me now. Scandal would not be good for Cordonia. The country needs stability. I daresay father will be putting pressure on me soon to secure the Royal succession’
‘You see now, that’s why you will make a great King, Brad. You didn’t think about your own needs, you thought about your country.’ Brad nodded, gazing out over the lake.
‘And where do you see yourself, Drake? I don’t just mean work wise – do you see yourself marrying? Having children? That’s what I want, but I can’t choose just anyone.’ Drake rubbed the back of his neck distractedly
‘I never really thought of having a family. I suppose I saw myself taking over Mom’s ranch, but Cordonia’s my real home. I reckon until something better comes along, I’ll hang around, keep you straight.’
‘My wing man.’ chuckled Brad. ‘You can vet all the Court ladies with ambitions of being Queen.’

The Evolutionary Burn
The Evolutionary Burn
By Hare in the Moon Astrology
Thursday January 16 2020
“Drop your maps and listen to your lostness like a sacred calling into presence. Here, where the old ways are crumbling and you may be tempted to burn down your own house. Ask instead for an introduction to that which endures. This place without a foothold is the province of grace. It is the questing field, most responsive to magic and fluent in myth. Here, where there is nothing left to lose, sing out of necessity that your ragged heart be heard. Send out your holy signal and listen for the echo back.” Toko -Pa Turner
A heads up! Creating /Being/Offering Sanctuary has never been so important …
Just think about the continuous physical and emotional wear-and-tear/trauma you have endured in this present lifetime of yours…in the last few years…..in the last few months. We all need some gentleness now. We all need some healing. We all need a rest. What we definitely do not need is to fall into the old 3D trap of “New Year/New Decade/New Me/New Start” self-violence. Let’s start with being kinder to ourselves and then kinder to others, with tentatively beginning to trust in life again.
As your nervous system is continuously fritzed by the Evolutionary Burn, by unprecedented solar storms, by the spike in the Schumann Resonance, by the weakening of the Earth’s Shield, you are engaged in magnetic physical healing, repair and integration so don’t jump straight into the Next before you experience the Now.
You are being physically and emotionally pushed forward by huge birth contractions into a world-turned-upside-down paradigm- so don’t strive for the new, but focus on what’s emerging. Only when you stop striving, can you carve out new neural pathways, creating a new blue print as you go along, surrendering the illusion of control and actively collaborating with Fate.
In the face of the relentless unravelling/collapse, how can you meet it? With resistance, hardening your body, restricting your breath? Or with openness and curiosity about the shattering of your old opinions, judgements and expectations?
If you cling to or fall back into the old fictions you used to fool yourself with, the present with its potential is inaccessible. If you keep trying to second guess or project yourself into the future, you lose your power to act Now.
Before you can create next season’s growth, you need to be rose rooted and deeply planted.
If you are a creative, empath, solopreneur or way finder, don’t miss out on my monthly 5D Reports-your consistent guide to the emerging 2020 Pathways. Sign up to the New Edition: February 2020:” That Was Then…….This Is Now” at : www.hareinthemoonastrology.co.uk
“Lorna, blessing your path and the wisdom you share. This is the stuff we have been waiting for, deep gratitude for the way showing. Your guidance and light have kept me open and fear free and I can see now how much more confused I would be navigating the last year without your light filled maps. Your work is truly sacred.” Katya O UK

Galactica, part 236
In this we celebrate Thanksgiving from New Orleans to Long Island, and some have a jollier holiday than others!
Thank you @veronicasanders @toriibelledarling and @samrull for all of your amazing help and support <3
“Not too late to back out,” Bianca said, as their car service pulled up to her parents’ house outside New Orleans.
“It sort of feels like it’s too late…” Courtney answered.
“Nahh…” Bianca slipped a hand around her waist, pulling her close. “We can be at the Ritz in 25 minutes...room service...a fireplace…” Bianca kissed her neck as the driver unloaded their luggage.
Courtney rolled her eyes. “Let’s call that Plan B.”
Bianca grinned and let Courtney drag her out of the car. She held her hand, leading her up the walk, pausing for a second to say, “Brace yourself,” as she pushed open the door.
Courtney’s stomach was in knots. She had met a few of their family members before while she and Adore were in college, but this was different. She didn’t know whether it was good or bad that Adore wasn’t here - she’d chosen to spend the holiday with Alaska’s family in Pennsylvania. On the one hand, she’d have been another ally, but on the other hand, it may not help her cause for everyone to have a constant visual reminder that she’d started out as their baby sister’s best friend and was now dating their oldest sibling. She had a moment of panic when, swept up by a flurry of siblings and nieces and nephews and cousins, Bianca dropped her hand.
“Courtney! You look great, how’s it going?”
Courtney turned gratefully towards the familiar voice, giving Eddy a hug. “Hi! Thanks, how are you?”
“Pretty good, no complaints.”
“Congratulations, I hear you and Rose got engaged last week!”
“Yeah, well...you know, I finally accepted that you would never return my love, so…”
Courtney laughed, shaking her head. “Please stop, you’re gonna get us both in trouble.”
“Baby!” Bianca wrapped an arm around her, pulling her away from Eddy. “Jesus Christ, I thought I’d never find you again. Come meet my sisters.”
Vanessa and Liz were polite, if slightly icy, looking Courtney up and down. “It’s lovely to meet you,” Vanessa said.
“That’s a cute dress, reminds me of that designer B’s friends with...what’s her name, Bianca?” Liz asked pointedly.
“Her name is Miss Fame, and that dress is Marc Jacobs. You nothing literally nothing about fashion,” Bianca replied, then turned to one of her cousin’s kids. “Chloe! Hi, pumpkin! How’s school?”
Courtney forced a sunny smile. “I don’t know the designers either. I just liked the print.”
“Right,” Liz said, with a slight eye roll.
“So Courtney, my daughter really likes your album,” Vanessa added. “I told her she had to wait a few years to watch the videos, but I’m pretty sure she didn’t listen.”
Courtney’s cheeks reddened a little. “Sorry.”
“I mean, it’s not your fault. They’re just a little racy for a seven year old. Hey, Maddie!” She beckoned her daughter over to them.
“Yeah…” Courtney cleared her throat as a girl with dimples and dark curled bounced over, hugging Bianca around the waist and looking up at her shyly.
Bianca lifted the seven year old off the ground.
“You’re Courtney, right?” she asked shyly.
“Hi, yeah, you must be Madison.”
The little girl’s eyes widened. “How do you know my name?”
“Well, I mean, I follow your mother on Instagram. So I get to see pictures of you all the time.”
“You /do/?”
“Yeah, I think your dog is really cute.” Courtney smiled, relieved to have someone else on her side, even a seven year old.
“I think YOUR dog is really cute! Oh my gosh, can they be friends?”
“Kylie would love that!”
Madison grinned. “Wanna see my American Girl Doll?”
“Definitely.” Courtney allowed the small child to lead her by the hand into the other room, thrilled to be stepping away from the mayhem.

“Sit still little man.” Katya smiled as she took a step back to admire her handywork.
Ivan was all dressed up, his chubby little cheeks red and his blonde hair water combed. Katya had bought his blue dress shirt and pants so he could match his daddy, Katya herself wearing the blue sky dress Trixie had made for her so many years back after she got out of rehab. Katya knew she should properly connect the dress to something sad, her time in upstate New York at the rehab clinic one of the hardest things she had ever had to do, her family abandoning her and the memories of the kind brown eyed man keeping her up at night as she had twisted and turned, but she didn’t. It had been made for her by a man that loved her, and she was going to wear it to every joyous occasion she could, and the first thanksgiving with her son was definitely just that.
Katya reached over and picked Ivan up, the little boy smiling his cute mostly toothless smile filling her with joy as he grabbed her hair. Katya laughed, gently freeing her blonde locks from her son’s grib.
“Let’s go show daddy how cute you are, huh?”
“Dada!”
“That’s right little man.” Katya kissed Ivan’s head and made her way towards the kitchen where Trixie was cooking up a feast with the help of Laila and Pearl.

“Apa kebar, are you sure I’m saying it right?”
“You’re saying it perfectly lovely eyes.” Sutan smiled as he walked up the steps to his mother's little yellow house, Violet’s hand in his, his girlfriend holding Frida’s leash and the small box that contained her gift to his mother. Sutan had tried to tell Violet time and time again that she didn’t have to bring anything for his mom, but his girlfriend still insisted every time, just like she stumbled through the greeting ritual of his culture, her words clumsy but her intend so clear you couldn’t do anything but love her.
Violet nodded, and Sutan reached out to ring the doorbell, his mom opening the door, a big smile on her face as she hugged them, Sutan getting kisses and warnings that he was getting too thin, Frida even treated to a gentle pet as his mom accepted Violet’s gift of a simple, but beautiful vintage headscarf in a pale yellow with a kiss to Violet’s cheek as well.
“Com in com in.” Mani stepped aside, letting the couple and their dog step inside. “Dinner almost done, eveyone in livingoom.” Mani opened the door, Raja and Raven already on the couch.
“Fame, what are you doing here?”
Sutan was so surprised to see his friend sitting in the armchair by the fire, that he didn’t see Violet’s face at all, his girlfriend's eyes widening in horror when she realised that it was indeed her boss, none other than Miss Fame herself, that was in the living room, her gigantic Great Dane napping on the carpet, the three woman playing cards while they waited for dinner.
***
‘’Can everyone go home already? My head hurts.” Betty was draped over the couch, her arm over her forehead in a dramatic gesture.
“Kitty, hate to break it to you, but they’re not here yet.” Shane set some more plates on the table, preparing for the Thanksgiving dinner they were hosting for members of Bach Street Boys with their plus ones. Ruby had nearly suffocated Shane in a hug earlier when he told her that of course she can bring Max, no question about it.
The turkey was still in the oven, but mashes potatoes were already ready, along with gravy, cranberry sauce and an array of other delicious dishes they spend the entire morning making (Or, Shane did. Betty helped cut some vegetables until she announced her cold was getting better of her and she settled on the couch, downing her cold medicine with half a bottle of wine). She was currently half-sick, half-drunk and fully in an awful mood.
“What do you mean they’re not here? Are you making that much noise all by yourself? Ugh.”
At that exact moment, the doorbell rang and Shane hurried to the door to let in Raga and his girlfriend Evah, who carried a tray of pumpkin pie.
“Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Are we first? I brought Ruby the cutest skirt from Japan, I swear she is going to /die/ when she tries it on. Is she really bringing that mysterious boyfriend of hers? Hey, Shane. Long time no see.”
“How was Japan, Evah?” Shane asked as the blue-haired girl climbed to her toes to kiss him on the cheek.
“Amazing as always. I brought stuff for you guys too, so no worries. Where’s Betty? Take this to the kitchen, will you, babe?” Evah practically shoved the tray of pie into Raga’s arms and pranced into the living room, leaving the men behind in the hallway.
“Must’ve missed her a lot, huh?” asked Shane, a little sarcastically. Evah was Raga’s high school sweetheart, a rising star of the e-sport community who made money hosting gaming livestreams. She was very into Japanese fashion and pop culture. Somehow Betty has learned the word ”weeaboo” and rarely called Evah anything else since.
“House was quiet without her,” shrugged Raga, handing Shane the pie.
Meanwhile, in the living room, Betty craved death. Even though her fever went down slightly from the meds, her throat was in flames, her head ready to burst open and she also felt nauseous and dizzy from the wine. Evah was showing her photos from the convention in Tokyo she went on, but Betty could barely see anything because of her watery eyes.
“You know how many makeup Youtubers want to collab with me all of a sudden? I only do cosplay makeup, it’s a whole different world, you know? Bets, you okay? You don’t seem well.”
“Yeah, no shit. I’m dying.”
“Oh. Sorry to hear about that. Maybe I’ll go help the boys in the kitchen then?” Evah awkwardly patted Betty’s arm, a gesture Betty completely ignored, and bounced away to the kitchen, her frilly skirt dancing in the air the last thing Betty saw before her eyelids closed.
The next time she opened her eyes, a freakishly tall man dressed in all black was standing right above her, pointing at something. ‘’Sorry, but what the hell is this?’’
“Max, come on. It’s Betty. She’s a little sick, obviously not her best day, give her a break,” winked Ruby from the table, raising a glass Betty’s way with a brilliant smile, visibly way too proud of her joke.
“Can everybody please fuck the fuck off?” Betty whined, grabbing the nearest blanket  and wrapping it around her arms.
“Not really, you invited us, remember?”
“Ugh. I guess.” There was a loud noise and a curse coming from the kitchen which Betty ignored, instead opting for getting up and making her way to join everybody by the table. The cold meds made her hungry.
“That doesn’t answer my question. What the hell is that… statue? Is it like a statement? Does it… mean anything?” Max pointed at the Poseidon statue by the window. It was wearing a scarf wrapped around its head like a turban and was as ugly as ever.
Raga raised his head from a half-finished serving of mashed potatoes and snorted. “That’s Shane’s best friend.”
“Yeah. Sometimes I think he loves that ugly thing more than he loves me.”
Shane was in the kitchen making noise, unable to confirm nor deny the statement. With a shrug, Betty reached for a bottle of red wine that stood alone in the middle of the table, but when she felt a coming coughing fit, she wasn’t able to do anything to stop it. She knocked the bottle over, the wine immediately spilling all over the table and onto Ruby, who was closest, staining her cream white skirt. Ruby jumped to her own salvation, knocking over some glasses and screaming, and caused Evah to cry out, “What the fuck, Ruby, you stepped on my foot!” The guys tried to save the situation but they only managed to make it worse, flailing around. Betty slowly but surely moved away from the table and she was the first to notice Shane in the doorway, defeated, black smudges on his face and white t-shirt.
“Guys?” Nobody heard him. “GUYS!” he screamed.
All the heads turned towards Shane.
“What?”
“I burned the turkey.”
***
Courtney walked down the hall, trying to find her way back to the living room through the maze of the Del Rio’s house, when she paused, hearing her name. One of Bianca’s sisters was chatting with someone, probably a cousin. She stopped to listen.
“...well yeah, it’s just, she’s never taken anyone home before so, you know, I always figured Bianca was holding out for someone, like...I don’t know…”
“I get what you’re saying. She’s like, sweet, but it’s a bit anticlimactic. Liz keeps calling her a gold digger, but that’s not really the vibe I get. It’s more...just...I don’t know…”
“Right? I’m not trying to be mean but I sort of expected B to bring home a supermodel who happened to be a nobel prize winner.”
Courtney closed her eyes, having heard enough, and walked quickly back to their room.
COURTNEY: Your family hates me
ADORE: Yeah, well, they hate everyone. Why do you think I never go home? Did they try to put you in a mental institution?
COURTNEY: No
ADORE: OK so what are you complaining about?
COURTNEY: lol
ADORE: Eddy loves you
COURTNEY: Yeah. We’re BFFs. He was totally my type, when I dated guys. Except he appears to have a moral compass, so...maybe not
ADORE: HA! I’m telling him you said that.
COURTNEY: OMG DON’T YOU DARE I’M ON THIN ICE AS IT IS
“Hey! There you are!” Bianca walked into the bedroom, wrapping her arms around Courtney’s waist.
“Hi, sorry.”
“We’re about to sit down for dinner. I have to warn you...they promised they would make vegan-friendly stuff but my mom just said ‘vegans can eat eggs, right?’ So I can’t really promise that this food is safe.”
“Oh, that’s...that’s alright. I’ll just eat vegetables.”
“I mean, right, but you know you’re in the South. So we count mac and cheese as a vegetable.”
“Well, that’s insane.” Courtney hugged Bianca around the waist and laid a head on her shoulder. “I guess it’s a cheat day?”
“I guess so. Sorry, baby.”
***
“Mmh.. You’re such a good kisser.” Katya smiled, her and Trixie were on the bed, Trixie on top of her, his weight comfortable, her hand in his hair, his shirt open, Trixies soft, plump lips between her own. Katya had taken one look at her husband in his pink Thanksgiving shirt, and she had jumped his bones straight away.
“My sweet bo-” In that moment, Katya realised that the sour smell in the air wasn’t Ivan’s diaper, but rather a very different unpleasant smell. “Is something burning?”
“Oh fuck, the pie!” Trixie sprung up like a pig that had been bitten, racing to the kitchen, a surprised scream coming from outside their room.
“Dude! No! Keep your man boobs in your room!”
“Sorry!”
Katya laughed, the holiday peace truly settling over the little home on the Upper East Side.
***
“We’re flying flowers in from Fiji, they look /amazing/, I can’t wait for all of you to see it at the rehearsal dinner.”
Violet smiled to herself, Raven had been talking about her wedding all through dinner, the woman so excited about the party that she was practically vibrating out of her skin, every conversation with her somehow ending up on the subject.
“Vey nice, vey nice.” Mani stood up, the old woman reaching out to take the dishes, but Violet quickly jumped in. “Let me.”
“You good gil Violet, you vey good gil.” Violet blushed slightly, still proud of the fact that Sutan’s mom liked her so much.
“You’re welcome.” Violet picked up the pitcher of water and the wine glasses before she left the room, Mani and Raven staying behind, but as Violet walked out into the hallway she saw that the door to the backyard was open. Violet felt her heart drop, sure that Frida had somehow gotten out but when she got there she saw Sutan, Raja and Fame all standing together, the three of them passing around what looked like a cigarette. Violet could hear Raja and Sutan laughing together and the low voices of the group chatting. Violet turned around, ready to go to the kitchen Frida that had left the living room came bolting down the hall, the little dog smelling the night air.
“Frida! Frida no!” Violet ran after Frida, not knowing if the gate in the yard was open as she bursted out through the door. “Frida!” Violet grabbed the little dog, the pitcher in her hand emptying out on the grass, the water splashing and hitting Fame’s pants.
“Violet!” Violet looked up, her eyes wide as Fame raised her voice. “What do you think you’re doing-”
“I’m sorry Miss.”
“I don’t care about your excuses!” Fame’s tone was sharp, and Violet felt her stomach clench as she stood up, the pitcher on the ground, Frida in one hand, the stack of plates in the other, Raja and Sutan starring at both of them. “Have you hit your head? When did you become incapable of doing the simple task of not spilling like a toddler? Are you a toddler Violet?”
Violet was just about to respond when she was interrupted.
“Hey, Fame, I know you showed a giant stick up your ass when Patrick left you, but don’t be a fucking bitch okay? Nothing happened and Violet didn’t do it on purpose.”
Violet could see Fame’s chok, the woman’s eyes wide at the way Sutan had just spoken to her, but Violet turned her back, escaping before she could hear Fame’s respons. She knew she should be happy that Sutan was standing up for her, but it just felt humiliating. Like he didn’t trust her to stand up to herself. Violet could hear the talk in the garden pick back up again, Raja clearly mending the situation, all three of them soon laughing together like the old friends they were.
“Eveyone! Time for pie and TV! You come watch movie with Mani.”
“Yes mom!”
***
“Bianca,” Liz defended herself with an eyeroll, arm around her older sister. “I’m not saying it to be a bitch.”
“Right, I know, you being a bitch is just a fun side effect.” Bianca sipped her wine, rolling her eyes.
“I’m trying to look out for you! Look, I’m sure everything is just sunshine and rainbows right now, but really think about this...do you think this girl, this 22 year old, would be with you if you didn’t have money?”
“Well, I don’t know, Liz, I mean, if I didn’t have money...what would I be doing? Like actually no money? I don’t really think she’d be with a homeless person, if that’s what you’re asking, so...what’s your fucking point, exactly?”
“My point, B, is that this girl is clearly playing you. How long into your relationship did she get a recording contract? And now she’s on Housewives? Adore said she was only ever with guys before, and then she meets you, and all of a sudden, she’s a lesbian, overnight? Because of someone old enough to be her mother? More like she saw dollar signs--”
Bianca stood up. “Okay, you’re done now. Thanks for the advice, now you can shut your fucking mouth.”
“Bianca!” Aida exclaimed, passing by her daughters, collecting empty plates. “Watch your language, there are children here.”
“Tell Liz to stay out of my goddamn relationship,” Bianca said angrily, “Or I swear, we’re leaving right now! I am not staying and listening to this bullshit about my girlfriend being a gold digger. Fuck you, Liz--”
“Mija, mija, please…” Aida soothed, putting an arm around Bianca’s waist and a hand on Liz’s shoulder. “Elizabeth, why are you antagonizing your sister?”
“I’m NOT! I’m just trying to help her!”
“No, actually, you’re just being a CUNT--”
“Bianca! Stop!” Aida cried. “You know she’s just projecting because of her divorce, honey.”
“Mom!” Liz said, offended.
“Well, sorry, mija, but you’ve been very bitter. Courtney’s a nice girl.”
“Thank you!”
“I mean, she’s too young for you, but that’s not her fault.”
“Jesus fucking Christ!” Bianca threw up her hands.
***
“Oh god I want to die.” Pearl groaned. She was laying on her side, her stomach growling with all the food she had eaten, the top she was wearing almost painfully tight but she couldn’t phantom getting up to change,
“That’s what happens when you have four helpings of green bean casserole.” Pearl opened an eye to see Laila stand at the edge of the bed, her girlfriend in a band t-shirt and panties, her short legs on full display and if Pearl could have felt hungry in any way she would have fucked Laila into next week.
“You’re not being a very good girlfriend right now…” Pearl knew she was pouting, but it didn’t matter when Laila laughed and got underneath the covers with her, her girlfriend pulling her into a hug
***
Bianca climbed into the bed, wrapping Courtney into an embrace, sucking gently on her neck. “Hi,” she murmured, caressing the skin of her waist.
“Hi yourself…”
Bianca’s hands continued to wander, and her kisses grew heated. She let out a whimpery sigh, tangling their legs together.
Courtney shifted, hands stroking her back, looking up at her with an amused expression. “Seriously?” she whispered. “Are you really trying to have sex right now? There’s like 40 people in this house…”
“Yeah, well, it’s been a very stressful day.”
“No shit. I’m fucking exhausted, B.”
“Please, baby, I promise I’ll make it worth your while,” Bianca wheedled softly, fingertips trailing down her arms.
Courtney closed her eyes. “That’s all I need, for your family to think I’m a nympho in addition to being a gold digger.”
Bianca laughed. “You can bite on a pillow.”
“B…”
“Do you remember Thanksgiving last year?” Bianca breathed into her ear.
Courtney bit her lip, suddenly bombarded with the sense memory of their first kiss, the surprising softness of Bianca’s plush lips, the pressure of her full hips against the kitchen sink, the shivers that raced through her body, the nervous anticipation, the feeling that her whole world was about to shift. If only she knew just how much…
Bianca cupped Courtney’s face in her hand, a thumb tracing her lips in the same gentle way she’d done a year ago, voice an urgent whisper. “I’d never wanted anyone more in my entire life, than the way I wanted you.” Her hips began to roll, pressing Courtney into the mattress.
“Bianca…”
“Did you? Did you want me too?”
A whimper escaped Courtney’s lips as she arched up against Bianca’s body, gripping her ass. “You know I did. So, so much…still do...”
Bianca nibbled a trail down her collarbone, hands sliding under her top. “Let me give you what you need, baby…what we both need...”
“Yes…” Courtney replied, breathless, succumbing to the desire that flooded through her. She closed her eyes, realizing that she’d once again been betrayed by her body, by her weakness for Bianca’s touch.

My self-insert for her series doesn't exactly have a lot to her name, but I am still going to give her the best day I can because that's my little sister and I care about her dearly. Maybe we can sneak into watching a film or something if she wants that. Either way, she deserves the world.
That's all I wanted to say ^-^

Galactica, Chapter 7 (Group Fic) - TheDane/Veronica
A/N: We can’t promise that this posting rate will continue forever, but for now, please enjoy! Click here if you’re looking for previous chapters (or here if you’d rather read on AO3). 💫
Last Chapter: The team scrambled to come up with ideas for the new Spring collection that would please their illustrious leader, and when they were out celebrating after the meeting, Pearl got a little too close for Violet’s comfort.
This Chapter: Violet makes a new friend, wakes up in a very compromising position, and deals with a massive hangover.
***
“Fuck fuck fuck,” Violet whispered to herself, reapplying her lipstick, making sure her lip liner was perfect even as her hand was shaking a little. Violet could hear her work phone, the familiar ringtone that meant Pearl was calling her.
She wanted to take it, wanted to accept the adventure Pearl was promising her, but Violet had hooked up with coworkers before, and that was a mistake she wasn’t eager to repeat.
Violet was drunk, and confused, this entire thing not at all what she had hoped and dreamed of for her and Pearl’s first kiss.
Besides the fact that they worked together, that Pearl was her friend, that she was one of the few human beings Violet actually genuinely liked, at the end of the day, Pearl was a player.
Everyone in the fashion world knew that.
There was not a lesbian or bisexual woman in the New York Fashion industry that didn’t have some kind of story about Pearl, Violet having listened to her fair share at parties, and she would never want to become one of those.
Their friendship was too important to her for that to happen. Stupid stupid stupid.
A gorgeous blonde girl stumbled out from the bathroom stall, humming to herself as she washed her hands. The blonde watched Violet apply her lipstick with rapt attention, then smiled, a thick Australian accent leaving her mouth.
“Wow…How do you do that? Your makeup looks like…sooo good.”
“Thank you?” Violet would normally be a little weirded out by this kind of attention from a stranger, but the girl was so beautiful and earnest that she only smiled back.
“I can’t wear red lipstick, but on you it’s...perrrfect,” she slurred.
“Everyone can wear red lipstick,” Violet stated.
“You think? Should I try it?” she asked, eyes lighting up gleefully.
“Umh…” Violet looked down at the lipstick in her hands. “Sure.”
But when the girl wobbled a little in her heels stepping forward, Violet had second thoughts--she was a little buzzed herself, but that girl looked far too drunk to do makeup on her own. It would likely end up all over her face if she tried.
“Know what. Let me help you,” Violet offered kindly.
“Oh wow, are you my fairy godmother?” she squealed, climbing up onto the counter.
Violet laughed at the other’s words, immediately feeling the kind of connection only two very drunk girls could.
“Maybe I am,” Violet giggled, as she began applying lipstick--not an easy task, given the blonde’s bubbly chatter, telling her all about how she normally only wore chapstick and mascara and wished she knew how to do winged eyeliner like Violet’s but could just never get the hang of it. But soon, Violet had done a satisfactory job, and leaned back to admire her work. If that girl was beautiful before, now she was absolutely stunning. “Um, whoever told you that you shouldn’t wear red lipstick should be killed.”
“Does it look good?!” the blonde asked excitedly, turning around to look in the mirror.
“You look gorgeous. Like, so pretty I can’t even deal with it,” Violet said nodding emphatically and realizing that she was maybe a little drunker than she previously thought. She certainly didn’t bond this much with strangers under normal circumstances. Of course, most strangers weren’t beautiful, charming blondes with adorable accents.
Shit, she really had a type when it came to girls.
“I love it! Thank you so much, fairy godmother!” she said, green eyes sparkling with joy. She turned back around and threw her arms around Violet’s neck.
Suddenly, the door burst open, startling them both.
“Courtney! There you are! You need to come back to the dance floor, bitch!” said a vaguely familiar voice. Violet turned around, trying to figure out where she knew the voice from.
“Adoooore! I’m getting my makeup done. Do you like it?” The blonde girl, now identified as Courtney, giggled, arms still around Violet, a huge smile on her face.
Adore? Realization suddenly dawned as Violet placed the face and voice.
Of course.
Adore was Bianca Del Rio’s little sister, and therefore someone Fame included in her close circle of friends. A musician of some kind and known party girl. And, if Violet was correct, she also knew Pearl somehow. It all made sense--what a small world.
Adore seemed to recognize Violet at the same time, big blue eyes widening with joy.
“Hey! It’s you! Violet, right?”
“Yeah, hi.” Violet smiled a bit shyly at her. She didn’t know Adore very well, but her closeness to Fame made Violet feel mildly self-conscious. Adore didn’t seem to have the same problem, throwing her arms around Violet as if they were best friends.
“Court, this is Violet. She works for Fame at Galactica.”
Courtney’s eyes bulged, and she clapped her hands together excitedly.
“She does?! Omigod how perfect! I just applied for a job as her assistant!” Courtney said.
“Why the fuck didn’t you tell me, bitch?” Adore demanded. “You know that Fame is practically like family.”
“Well, I applied for like 50 jobs this week; I just need anything that’ll let me stay. But I didn’t think I’d have any chance. I don’t have a lot of experience and I’m sure a million people applied. It’s Galactica .”
“So what?! You don’t need experience, you can do anything!” Adore turned to Violet, grasping her by the hand. “Violet, you need to help my girl get an interview. She’s amazing. She’s the most responsible person I know, and a really hard worker, and so smart.”
“Awww, bunny!” Courtney cooed, slinging an arm around Adore’s waist.
“Plus she really needs a job so that she can get a work visa.”
“Yeah, I don’t wanna be deported,” Courtney added solemnly.
“I know it’s kind of a weird problem for a white person to have, but there you go. And America is just soooo much better with her here.”
Adore buried her face into Courtney’s shoulder, hugging her tightly.
“Well, I’m looking over the résumés for the new assistant position. I can’t promise anything, but I’ll totally put yours at the top of the pile.” Violet found her drink on the counter and was just about to take a sip when Courtney jumped down, bouncing up and down excitedly.
“I swear I love you… Like I really honestly love you. I don’t remember your name just this second but you’re going in my gratitude journal, no, no, don’t laugh! And when I remember your name, I’m going to give it to my firstborn child!!” Courtney squealed, wrapping Violet in a neck-popping hug while hopping around in place.
“This is so beautiful,” Adore said. “I don’t know about you two hotties, but I’m ready to drink and dance some more, so the next round is on me! Let’s goooo!”
Violet let her new best friends drag her back out into the club and towards the bar, giggling the whole way.
***
“We gotta go, bunny,” Adore said, causing Courtney to whine.
“Nooo, I wanna dance some more,” she slurred, arms wrapped around Violet’s shoulders. “Me an’ Violet wanna dance.”
“I know, but Violet has to go home, too. Right?” Adore exchanged a look with Pearl, trying to extricate her friend from Violet, who swayed a bit in her heels, giggling and hiccuping. “Sorry, this one can’t hold her liquor for shit.”
Pearl laughed, putting her arms around Violet’s waist and pulling her gently from her new best friend.
“Seems that way,” she said.
“Say goodnight, Courtney,” Adore said.
“Goodnight, Courtney,” echoed the blonde sadly, looking over her shoulder with one final wave, then stumbling, nearly pulling Adore to the ground in the process. “Oops.”
Violet watched them, still giggling to herself, then allowed Pearl to guide her outside towards a row of taxis.
Pearl had never seen her hammered like this. Violet was a giggly, blushing, cuddly mess, and she had never been more adorable.
They were nearly inside the cab when Violet’s eyes widened in alarm.
“Pearl! Wait-” Violet grabbed for the door. “Wait wait wait wait.”
“What?” Pearl reached over her, grabbing her hand and furrowing her brow. “Are you okay?”
“Trixie!”
“What are you talking about?”
“Pearl we left Trixie behind!”
Pearl had to bite her lip not to smile, since Violet seemed genuinely distressed. “Trixie left with Katya and Max over 2 hours ago,” Pearl explained patiently. “He’s probably all snuggled up in his jammies, fast asleep.”
“Oh.” Violet’s shoulders relaxed as she slumped onto the seat. “Okay. That’s… That’s good.” Violet yawned a little, covering her mouth with her hand. “I wish I was wearing pajamas.”
This time, Pearl did actually snort. Violet was the only person she knew who could be near black out drunk, but still insisted on calling it pajamas.
“Do you?” Pearl couldn’t help asking, buckling her in. “What kind of pajamas?”
Violet gave her a sly smile, eyes half closed. “I’m not telling you that…”
Pearl laughed, shaking her head. Even drunk off her ass, Violet still managed to be more a mystery than not.
***
Trixie yawned as he made his way to the bedroom. He had brushed his teeth, swaying in place and humming to himself while he had done it.
Pearl hadn’t come home with them, Trixie was pleasantly tipsy, and he couldn’t wait to spend the night on some private time with his girlfriend.
Trixie opened the door, to see Katya who was standing by the mirror, brushing her blonde hair. She was perfectly sober, their eyes meeting in the mirror, and Katya broke into a giant smile.
“Hey cutie.”
“Hi.” Trixie couldn’t help but blush as he crawled onto the bed, the temptation to shake his ass too great to resist, and the move earned him a loud laugh from the woman he loved.
Katya was the beginning and the end of his world, and all he ever needed. He could listen to her all day, her laughs and giggles, her hyena fits and even when she snorted, all filling him with joy.
Trixie was more than ready to burrow into the pillows, and wait for Katya to finish her hair so she could come defile him, when he felt something that was horribly, horribly wrong.
One of the decorative pillows on the bed, the blue one, was all flat.
“Katya?”
“Mmh?” Katya was braiding her hair, her long fingers running through it.
“Did you wash the pillows?”
“Yes, isn’t it nice?”
“Mmmh..” Trixie picked the pillow up, gently trying to fluff it, to get it back to how it had been before Katya had thrown it in the washer but it was definitely dead.
“Shit.” Trixie whispered. He felt sad, the pillow one of his preferred companions on many a long night whenever he took “special” time with himself.
“What’s with the long face, sugarbutt?” Katya crawled onto the bed too, and Trixie could see that she was wearing nothing beneath her silk robe, the look in her eyes telling him that she was more than ready to fuck.
“I don’t have a long face, a round one, maybe, but not long.”
“You’re perfect.” Katya smiled, her hands gliding over Trixie’s scalp and grabbing what little hair he had, their lips meeting in a gentle kiss. “Now come on, you’re drunk and I want a piece of you before you pass out.”
Katya smirked, and caught him again, the two of them falling back on the bed.
Trixie tried to enjoy the kiss, but he couldn’t calm down, couldn’t let go of the fact that their washed pillows were filling him with something that almost felt like annoyance.
“Katya?”
“Mmh?” Katya had practically crawled in his lap, her legs on either sides of him, his hands on her hips.
“It was my special pillow.”
“What?” Katya stopped, her face the perfect picture of confusion. “Your special pillow?”
“You know,” Trixie closed his eyes. He was pretty sure that sober him would never say this, but drunk him had no such problems, “for when you’re gone.. And I, you know, miss you…”
“Wha-”
Trixie could feel himself blush, his cheeks burning.
“Wait. You mean. Oh, oh, ooooooooh. Really?”
Trixie wanted to die, his insides feeling like hot liquid, the shame painful, but also so delicious, his cock growing fully hard, and he knew Katya could feel it.
“Show me.”
“… Show you?”
Katya nodded, the woman quickly getting out of Trixie’s lap, sitting against the headboard, her hand gently going over Trixie’s face.
“Please me sweet boy, and I promise it’ll be worth it.”
Trixie closed his eyes, his heart hammering away as he pushed down his pajama pants, the pillow stuffed underneath him by Katya.
Trixie wanted nothing more than to serve, making Katya happy the most important thing in his life.
***
Violet blinked, her brain feeling like it could run out of her ear the first chance it got. “Ow…” Violet tried to turn over to go back to sleep, but her body felt like it was made of stone.
“There’s water and painkillers on the nightstand, but you need to get ready because you have work in a few hours.”
Horror slowly washed over Violet’s whole body, turning her blood to ice, as she realized who the voice belonged to and that the bed she was in was definitely not her own.
“Oh no, no no no no.” Violet looked around, ignoring the hammering pain in her head.
Pearl was lying next to her in nothing but a cotton bra and panties, a smirk on her face. Violet looked down, slowly realising that she was wearing one of Pearl’s t-shirts, and that was when it hit her.
“Did we, oh god- Why am I wearing” Violet could feel her throat close up, panic clawing under her skin. “What happened- Pearl, did we- Did we… Did we have sex?”
“Wow.” Pearl raised an eyebrow, “Is the idea of fucking me really that terrifying, ViVi?”
“I can’t remember anything after Adore bought that last round of shots...”
Violet felt like she was going to have a full blown panic attack trying to figure out what happened after they left the club.
Fuck fuck fuck.
“Violet. Relax, please.” Pearl reached out, gently petting Violet’s back. The sensation of Pearl’s palm - warm through the cotton of her t-shirt - was tantalizing, but Violet couldn't enjoy it at all.
“Nothing happened last night, I promise.”
“And why would I believe that?” Violet could feel tears threaten to fall, shame welling up in her stomach. “I wake up, and I can’t remember, you’re not wearing any clothes, I’m not in my dress- I’m not even in my apartment and I- I-”
Violet had to fight not to cry, not because she was disgusted at the idea that she had maybe slept with Pearl, but because she couldn’t remember anything at all. It was scary not to have any idea what she had done, but it was terrifying to think that she had wrecked her chance of a relationship with Pearl, or even worse, that she had ruined their friendship.
“Violet, listen to me.” Pearl turned Violet’s head so she could look her in the eyes, her thumb gently gliding over her cheekbone. “Nothing happened, I promise.”
Violet bit her lip, looking into Pearl’s blue blue eyes.
“I brought you here to help sober you up. I tried to give you some coffee without waking Katya and Trixie, but you passed out before I had the chance.”
Violet felt her throat relax, her breath slowly returning to normal.
“I undressed you since no one should sleep in Alexander McQueen.” Pearl smirked. “Imaging your horror if you had creased your dress.”
Violet snorted. “I guess…”
“And Violet-” Pearl smiled, grabbing her pillow and putting it back under her own head. “If we had actually fucked, I promise you would remember.”
Violet had to laugh at that, shaking her head at Pearl’s cockiness.
“You should probably start getting ready. I know your whole look probably requires a lot of primping, and it’s almost 6:30.”
“What?!”
***
Violet felt like a group of tiny dwarves had taken up shop inside her head, even the sound of her own nails on her computer keyboard too much.
Violet had rushed to work that morning, none of her usual calm present as she had practically verbally abused a taxi driver when he took a wrong turn. She had felt so bad she had thrown an extra ten dollars in his face, but the day had just gone downhill.
Thankfully Fame had been kind to her that morning, in an unusually sweet mood, not even commenting on the fact that Violet wore sunglasses indoors, even accepting the first breakfast with no complaints of the coffee being a little cold.
Alaska had called after lunch, her normal high pitched ‘hiiiiie’ feeling like a red hot poker forcing its way through her brain.
***
Fame was reading an email when Pearl came into the office, wearing sunglasses with shades the size of plates. Fame smiled; Pearl looked as bad as she knew Violet felt, and oh how she loved to see her pets get what they deserved.
“You sent for me, Miss.”
“Close the door.”
Pearl smiled, quickly obeying Fame.
“You’ve been a bad girl. Seducing my staff to go drinking on a weekday, paralyzing my poor assistant.”
Pearl snorted, a cheek grin on her face.
“Did you know that Violet gave me her own coffee this morning,” Fame held up her cup, Violet’s name scrawled on the side, “without even noticing?”
“I’m sorry Miss, that wasn’t my intention.” Pearl smiled, the air crackling with sexual tension. Fame loved teasing Pearl, loved playing this game of pretend between them.
“Perhaps not, but the damage has been done,” Fame said, keeping her tone cool and even, looking directly into Pearl’s eyes.
“Let me make it up to you, Miss,” said Pearl. Her sleepy voice with just a hint of rasp from last night’s debauchery made the offer implicitly sexy.
“You really think it’s going to be that easy?” Fame asked. She drummed her nails on the arm of her chair as she leaned back.
“Maybe not, but I can have fun trying.” Pearl took a few steps forward and dropped to her knees.
“Hm.”
Fame looked down at her lovely face, reaching down to remove her sunglasses.
“Please, Miss?” Pearl placed a kiss against her knee, lifting the hem of her skirt slowly.
“Fine,” Fame said, voice resigned as if she was indulging Pearl and not the other way around. “But be quick.”
***
On Thursday morning, when Max stopped by Fame’s office to drop off a batch of photos with the new sample clothes, he noticed that Violet looked out of sorts.
To a stranger she probably looked perfectly poised, but Max could see it in the way her ponytail wasn’t completely tight, could see it in the way she kept sipping water.
So later that day, during a creative meeting which meant Fame was out of the office, he returned with coffees and a little bag of croissants, gently asking if she had time for a short break. She’d accepted the coffee gratefully, but hesitated about the pastry.
“They’re still warm, if that helps,” he said, and that seemed to seal the deal.
Violet reached into the back and pulled one out, sinking back into her chair with a sigh as Max settled on the sofa.
“It’s been a rather hectic week, hasn’t it?”
“You have no idea,” Violet smiled, shaking her head.
“Anything I can assist with?” Max offered.
“No, I just...I really need to find a candidate, any candidate for the assistant position that Fame will at least consider.” Violet sighed. “The last few didn’t exactly-”
“Go well?” Max guessed.
“That’s generous, and I have no idea where I went wrong.” Violet groaned. “Fame needs someone who can do well, who can support her in everything. Everyone so far has been more than qualified, one of them even worked as an event planner, and yet, she sent them all away without a second though.”
“That sounds like her.” Max smiled.
“If she won’t accept people who are organized and experienced…” Violet trailed off, eyes going to the resumes littering her desk, creases in them telling Max how many times she’d been through them. “I don’t know what to do.”
Max pondered her dilemma. Of course, considering their boss’s desire for perfection, it would make sense for Violet to bring in these competent professionals with years of experience. On paper, that made perfect sense.
But there was another side to Fame, one with which Violet was probably less familiar.
“Have you considered…” Max paused. He needed to be careful to phrase this correctly. “You know how she loves to cultivate talent. To discover people, so to speak. So while it’s important to bring in people who are smart and capable...perhaps consider someone a bit more...green?”
Violet tilted her head, brow furrowed. It seems that offering up fresh young faces simply hadn’t occurred to her.
“You never know,” Max said, “But she may very well appeal to someone eager and ready to learn. And, uh...aesthetically pleasing, shall we say?”
“I guess... “ Violet’s eyes drifted back to the resumes on her desk, realization dawning on her face as she pulled one from the pile. “It’ll be worth a shot. Thank you Max.”
“Don’t mention it,” Max said with a wry chuckle. “Really. Don’t mention it. HR would probably not appreciate the way I phrased that.”
“Probably not.” Violet laughed, and they clinked their paper cups together.
