Heath Ledger’s version of the Joker in The Dark Knight is a remarkable performance that still gets recognized today as one of the best depiction of the character outside of the DC comic book. Despite on his limited screen time, the Joker steals the show by his menacing presence over the movie. He’s the agent of chaos, the unstoppable force to Batman’s immovable object.

Commemorating the 15th anniversary of The Dark Knight movie and Heath Ledger’s critically acclaimed performance, Hot Toys is bringing a more delicate and storytelling figure of Heath Ledger’s Joker to demonstrate our top-of-class crafting techniques. Presenting Hot Toys’ Artisan Edition of The Joker in 1/6th scale collectible figure from DX Series. This is an Exclusive release available with limited quantity of 4,000 pieces only in selected markets.

This time we have worked closely with Derek Kwok (Hong Kong Film Director), a Christopher Nolan fanatic himself, who spent over a decade to refine his passionate The Dark Knight Joker’s costume in 1/6th scale, as a hobby. Hot Toys is honored to create a custom-tailored costume based on The Joker’s signature purple coat outfit in Nolan’s The Dark Knight with Director Kwok’s involvement. From the choice of material to the cuts and layer arrangements, Derek showed his professionalism and expressed great passion, combining Hot Toys’ workmanship to give the real fabric costume the highest level of screen accuracy.

Our brand new Joker figure is faithfully crafted based on Heath Ledger’s stunning portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight. Features a newly developed head sculpt with separate eyeball rolling system, and its pupil diameter only up to 4.5mm produced by numerous layers of painting. His phenomenal make-up accented by the red grin, and two styles of mouth piece including a gesturing tongue for different expressions.

Hot Toys has expanded its leading-edge expertise, introducing a superior level of craftsman work goes into the wool hair implants which recreated Joker’s green coiffed hairstyle with added volume and curls at the strands to reflect his maniacal nature.

The Joker’s real fabric costume including his purple topcoat, blazer, vest, dress shirt, pants, socks, are all recreated with fine texture and accurate patterns. Most importantly, we have introduced a form fitting body unique to this figure, reflecting his actual physique yet giving great articulations under a layered costume.

His chaotic look completed with detailed weapons and accessories such as guns, grenades, knives, playing cards, bank note and a LED lighted diorama base with the famous bat symbol. It’s a base with two lighting modes for alternate display.

Jason? Aware of none of this. 

He was on comms, y’know listening and rolling his eyes at Dickwing, who used his real name, really Dick, he mocks. It’s just a stakeout, nothing new there, honestly boring when he could be blowing something up instead. It should have just been a stakeout. 

Yet there’s something suddenly there, something behind him. Something that causes his hair to stand on end and his comms to spark into static like some sort of horror movie. Something, something with clawed hands with corpse-pale skin tipped in black, stained or dead or something else, tilting his head up and up and up as he’s frozen. 

“A child, out here? Alone?” a voice crackles, hisses, hums, and purrs, somehow all at once, unnatural in its tone. He can’t move, he needs to move, he has to move, but it’s like the space around him has gone cold and dead, like he’s stuck in the Pits once more as claws hold his head and his vision blurs. “Sleep, child. Rest- we’ll be home soon.”

this was one of those illustrations that was originally supposed to be a 5 page comic until I realized I don't know anything about later roman empire architecture or visuals or art or anything, so we'll revisit that later. maybe

for right now though, these two are fascinating. we have two brothers acting as one body, even becoming ill in tandem with each other, it's giving This Throne Is Cursed. like, the last time I read about emperors coming down with life threatening illnesses, it was Caligula, and that moment in his biography marked a very specific tone shift. I spent the rest of the (first) time reading about Valens and Valentinian waiting for something comparable to Caligula's reign to happen lmao (Dio 59. 8. 1-2)

and since Caligula was already on the mind, I started thinking about Tiberius: I think he would've loved these two since he had a whole thing about twin-ification and brothers and etc etc etc. ofc, Rome is both a Mouth and a Tomb, so it's going to go badly for someone/everyone eventually, but honestly I think that Valentinian and Valens were the best we could've hoped for. like it could've been so much worse

this may be a tiny bit self serving and i dont know if youve made a post about it already… but if you have chrom’s height, do you know how tall robin is? awakening put them at about the same height model wise but robins been consistently shown as shorter in media after that (fe:h, engage, smash bros, etc.). how much taller is chrom in engage?

I haven't made a post about this already, somehow! I've been so focused on dragon forms I forgot about not-dragon-form Robin. :P

Awakening gave Robin not one but SIX possible heights. All three body variations for each gender gets a different model scaling value, and no two are the same. Which incidentally is why I use Chrom as my ruler for other Awakening models, and not Robin. You can never truly be sure which body type is canon to any given Robin...

The medium male Robin is in fact the same height as Chrom in Awakening; the tall male and female bodies are taller than Chrom; and then the small male and female bodies, as well as the medium female body, are all shorter.

Kinda makes me wonder if that's the reason they make Robin shorter than Chrom in all their subsequent appearances. Looked at these numbers and went "eh, on average Robin's shorter".

ANYWAY. ENGAGE HEIGHTS. I gotcha covered. Same methods as usual; port into Blender and graft on feet, apply scaling values, measure on the Z-axis, grab the Fogado-Byleth conversion factor, calculate the heights.

(The sheer visual difference... I haven't bothered to give the characters in the original Measuring File my fancy engage shaders, and boy howdy can you tell.)

In Engage, Robin is about 5' 6"! Chrom has a bit over half a foot of height on him at 6' 2".

As an interesting side note; the difference between Engage Chrom and Robin's heights is pretty much exactly the height difference between Awakening Chrom and Robin's short male body type. Robin's height in Engage is 89.7% of Chrom's, compared to short male Awakening Robin's 90%.

No matter what the hair style says, short male body type Robin is canon to Engage. I rest my case.

How would you imagine all the patients’ cells look like?

would the rooms look like those padded asylum rooms?

They look like. Dorm rooms for the most part. With no windows-

They have white walls with a red stripe going down the middle of them, along with the room number.

This cell is for most patients, aside from Cesar, who has a special cell that looks like this:

Alright people of this website, here's a question for you.......How different would the BBC show "Ghosts" be if, in an alternative universe, it went the "Fawlty Towers"-esque farcical comedy route (in your personal opinion)?

How different would the characters be and how would they be handled? How different would the storylines be? If the storylines were the same from the show, how would said plotlines be handled? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this!
