I'm just gonna say it again real quick:
Yes!! Iron Man is a tragedy! It has and always has been since the very first appearance in 1963 which describes itself, Tony's life, and legacy, as such.
Tony causes most of his issues himself, he is his biggest villain, a majority of his rogues gallery are caricatures of the worst versions of himself brought to life (when they're not just being racist cuz...60s...). The worst thing about being Tony Stark is that he can't stop being Tony Stark (he tried!!) That is the point.
The majority of pain Tony goes through, is pain he inflicts on himself, whether intentionally or inadvertently. That is the point.
He is not A villain (at least. Not usually. There are...some rough moments and arcs that are. Not great. As there is with any character as old as he is). But he is his own main antagonist.

Its just the way that Roger found Rayleigh and immediately called their meeting fate and the way they were captian and first mate for over thirty years and the way they were Gol D and Silvers and the way they called each other partners and the way Roger told Rayleigh he would never die and the way Rayleigh was crying but let his captain go because he knew that was what Roger wanted and needed and the way Roger lived his last year without his partner and the way Rayleigh didn't go to Roger's execution and how it was the day he laughed and cried the most and the way Rayleigh lived!! For so long!! Without Roger and just waiting for Joyboy's prophecy to pass and the way—

How loosely or strictly do they use the word ‘friend’?
8. How loose is their use of the phrase ‘I love you’?
10. What fact do they excitedly tell everyone about at every opportunity?
11. If someone was impersonating them, what would friends / family ask or do to tell the difference?
(for any oc of your choice, but if u could answer one with dakota.. 👀💛)
well great news i want to do all of these with dakota because these are great for her
How loosely or strictly do they use the word ‘friend’?
Dakota isnt afraid to drop it on anyone but she very rarely actually means it. It's just part of the game y'know? If she's open about wanting to be friends and showing someone she cares then they'll HAVE to get attached and reciprocate. And then she eats that
How loose is their use of the phrase ‘I love you’?
Again, she's not afraid to drop it on anyone just to get them attached and in a space where they'll say it back so she can eat that love. She very rarely actually means it. I don't know if she could actually mean it, I'm like 90% sure she's aroace and the one person she does care about she hasn't even admitted to herself she loves him. Yeah she says "I love you" to him all the time but it's teasing and mocking and not meant to be serious and it's not like he can say it back anyways because they both know she'd eat his love and leave him to die and move on with her life. That's just how she is. She can't help that.
What fact do they excitedly tell everyone about at every opportunity?
Dakota finds various methods of murder actually fascinating and sometimes she starts rambling about cool murder facts with the people who know what her deal is already and she has to pretend she's not surprised when they think she's just teasing them. Like, oh yeah I'm just the murder guy to them and they'll never take this seriously. Oops I forgot, lol! No one wants to talk to her about disembowlment but she's normal about it she doesn't care it's fine
If someone was impersonating them, what would friends / family ask or do to tell the difference?
They wouldn't. They wouldn't be able to tell. They can ask and ask and they couldn't really be sure. Cliff may ask her about things about his business that only she knows ("what's the code to my room" shit like that) and assuming the impersonator hasn't gotten the info from her already that would work, but aside from that she's such a caricature of herself all the time they wouldn't fuckin know how to seriously figure it out. She doesn't even take herself seriously how are they supposed to tell the difference between her teasing and lying and some guy who's copying her??
