In the post about Octavia it said that she got smote for eating the residents of her abby, but in a previous dragon post it mentioned Maria was different than other dragons in that she prefers to not eat human flesh, which seems like it's implying that the other dragons do eat human flesh and that's considered the norm.
So what was different about Octavia's situation that angered the gods?
Astute observation! You shall be REWARDED!
Basically issue is that the word 'human' has a very loose definition in this setting. The core factor is that the Gods and all those imbued with their power have this gnarly corruption that compels one to munch on humans. Anything that sates this hunger is therefore considered 'human'. Which includes regular folks, mutilated beasties, dragons, abbies, or even the blood ocean itself! Most dragons hunt the monsters around their Abattoirs, but of course regular unaltered humans in the abbies are the choicest of options.
Tumblr media
Abattoir people are off the table for the dragons for most of the year, though when the gods slither over for their yearly feast you can always ask for some scraps. Usually they'll cough up a few if asked. But once the gods became MIA then those within are off the table entirely. Unless you're Octavia!
Tumblr media
She crossed pretty much every line, briefly interrupting the circle holding the Abattoirs dome to let herself inside, letting her presence be known to those living within, reinstating the yearly feast, and eating her fill of divine worm food. Until the delayed reaction of the Gods saw the end of her, her Abattoir, and all those within.

your worldbuilding for your dreamingverse au is so good i wish i knew everything about the world you're making. i genuinely could read about it for HOURS
Oh that is so sweet! @solar-cycle And who am I to deny your curiosity (I certainly am happy to rant about Dreamingverse)!
MINECRAFT SPECULATIVE LORE?
(Sorry about the lack of image, I was too excited to post and didn’t have any ideas jump out at me for what to draw… next post maybe lol)
Here’s the fundamentals of the Dreamingverse au:
There was, once, two universes. The first, the one you might be able to imagine, was made of matter, of time and space, and was inhabited by advanced civilizations. The other was pure sapience, a sprawling neuronic network that dreamed in its own pathways. They call it the End Before the Beginning, the cataclysmic collision of universes that split and fragmented and recrystallized into a single many faceted prism. And in the wake of this cataclysm, the civilizations of before collapsed. It wasn’t an immediate thing, though, but a slow implosion driven out of fear and competition over resources. How were people not meant to be afraid, when the dead were suddenly granted a second waking and the world they knew was ripped apart at the seams? When being born of pure thought, the manifestations of death, destruction, and oblivion were made to walk among them? Humanity downfall was eventually to war and its own nuclear power, and thus began the era of oblivion.
The era of oblivion was marked by the absence of life and the settling of the earth. The newly reborn [universe] was irradiated and barren, made of fractured pockets of tribes and civilizations relearning how to live in their world and hanging on to their lives with white knuckles. If nothing else, this extreme of living incentivized the rapid evolution of genetics, leading to offshoot species in the descendant of humanity, Piglins, Witches, Endr, and more, among them. These offshoots are widely known as “Hybrids” granted by the universe the qualities of species better suited to their extreme environments.
It is then the Era of Growth and Decay. The plants, as with the undead, are given a sentience of their own, mutated and lively, they are the first to begin recovering from the End, and with them, the deities of these concepts too. Among these plants, Creepers, long, slow-moving creatures of explosive spores, Sculk, Mycelium, Glares, and the Nylium of the Neth.
And in the wake of the plants, the Era of Beasts follow, where animals and their corresponding deities begin to grow bold and awake.
Following at last is the rebirth of civilization. It’s the Neath that takes off first, the early bastions of the Piglin gathering culture and resource in order to begin exploring and inventing, the overworld soon following. And here also, is where the Creators truly emerge. They had existed before in some capacity, sapient beings woven more deeply into the fabric of the universe, able to catch the flitting dreams of the universe and spin it into their own make. Beings with the ability to Construct and Destroy at a scale no Animate could match even with a lifetime of magical and alchemic training. They were revered and despised in often equal measures.
Which brings us to the basics of Sapient classifications. To be clear, these lines are not hard or certain, but rather a general categorization.
There are the Animates of course: NPCs essentially (though that feels dismissive) the bulk of the population, living limited lifespans and with little access to magics.
These rest are Creators, broadly speaking:
The so called “Players,” generally the children of other Creators, of Animates, or Animates themselves given the powers of Construction and Destruction later in life in one way or another. They tend to be more humanoid, and generally include undead Creators. For along time, they were really the only group of Creator easily accepted by the general population as they were less other.
Then there are the Fae, objects, plants, or animals that are given the gifts of the universe and higher consciousness alongside it.
And then the Constructs; Places awakened and given thought and the capacity to change and move. Often considered god-like in their own right.
And the Deities. Gods sometimes. Beings made of pure thought, concepts personified.
Civilization marched onwards, and Creators did not often die. Empires rose, fell, rose again, and over the course of many great wars and eras of peace —from the War With Heaven, to the Rapture of Empires, to Antarctic’s Conquest— the Universe slowly settled into its Dream and its people into their own.
Ask me about:
- the structure of the universe and the layout of its dimensions…
- Mechanics, this may be bundled in with the structural stuff…
- Character, lore, and series head-cannons (I may or may not have them yet!)
- The Deities
- The Remnants 0.0
- Anything really, maybe I’ll do some art :3

reader is from our world right? so if our phone still has the same apps as it normally does
imagine if the reader had like a pokedex app
and after laventon talks about making a pokedex they just show the app like "you mean this?"
The answer to this one isn't easy, given that regardless of what was on the device before transmigration, it'd been altered to perform as Arceus believed necessary-- it's likely the Arcphone remained unable to serve any purpose beyond what Arceus intended for it as a tool, meaning any app that had existed before could have been erased if it meant it would impede in some way. Or, since you are historically the first to compile the Pokedex despite it not being recorded in history, the app ceases to exist in the time period you've now inhabited. The problem is also that there's no saying how intact your memory is after experiencing the alteration of Arceus' will. If you had forgotten anything, it's unlikely you'd be aware of it, as you'd have no memories of that which had been forgotten. Perhaps you could feel a mild sense of displacement or void in your mind, like there'd been a blockage or something missing that had supposed to exist there in the recesses of your conscience, but if Arceus wanted (assuming it had enough power to do so) it could make you forget about such an app ever existing in the first place.
That isn't to say that it'd completely erase those chunks of information, rather you'd have to unearth them through the progression of your research, thus aiding in your compiling of the first Sinnohan compendium.
Of course, history would forget your contributions and attribute them to the Professor, but there'd perhaps be mentions of a peculiar researcher who had aided in the gathering of field data whose name and face remained lost to a bygone age. Lost in a library fire or by building collapse, the precious photographs you'd collected, the writings from your very hand, all of it would be damaged beyond the point of tracing back to you, yet still, remnants of you would remain in the modern day. All a deliberate deterioration from that same mysterious will that had summoned you those many years ago. Tattered letters written to a dear friend. A stamp of two golden ginkgo leaves on a faded envelope. Someone still remains, scouring the region of Sinnoh, looking to uncover the great mystery of that fabled individual forgotten in time.

I checked out the map gen from the post you sent me and it's REALLY cool! Particularly the wind degree feature to simulate rain shadow and deserted areas. It's one thing to keep it in mind while worldbuilding, but another to have this check you! And also the generated land masses are SO cool. Will absolutely be using this later!

Part one of a series of dragon illustrations I did for my worldbuilding site. Each shows a body type or "class" dragons can be, which usually denotes the number of limbs and wings they have. In order:
Quad - 4 limbs, wings
Drake - 4 limbs, no wings
Wyvern - 2 hind legs, large wings which are sometimes used as arms
Ampithere - No legs, large wings
Wyrm - No legs, no wings
Lindwyrm - 2 front arms, can have wings or not
Dragons of any body type can possess any one to three elemental abilities, which are often, but not always, inherited genetically!

Introducing Dream-World
Dreamworld is set in a futuristic Earth that has been ravaged by floods caused by climate change, and the arrival of a mysterious comet.
But humans managed to harness the immense energy of said comet to be able to overcome the floods, creating manmade islands, cities that travel with the flow of the ocean, and even finally managed to send colonies to space.
But with this energy came a strange development.
a handful of the youth on Earth started to manifest incredible abilities, all of them saying it literally came from their dreams.
The main story is set decades later and mostly centers around these four idiots, who may dig deeper than they were supposed to

Oooh, can you tell us a bit about the different areas of magic?
of course !
magic is categorised into 4 main areas. while most mages specialise in one, everyone to some extent can use all 4, including non-mages (mage is just the word for someone who has undergone magical training of some kind).
warding - is primarily concerned with protection / defence and uses sigils of varying kinds. examples would be warding a door so that it cannot be opened without first removing the sigil, or banishing a spirit.
enchantment - changing the physical properties of an object or person. examples would be making an object more opaque or changing its colour, as well as the creation of illusions.
healing - manipulation of living matter e.g. to heal a wound. potion making falls under this umbrella.
transmutation - manipulation of non-living matter. this includes alchemy or changing the physical form of an object - the only limitation is that matter cannot be created.

As promised, extra doodles. Not as promised though- the full character desc lol. To make up for it i'll give a shortened version. (Super condensed so its a little wonky)

╭﹒˚ ༘✧ ⋆。˚ ⁀➷
Cassiopeia (21)  An aspiring self proclaimed dracologist. She spends most, if not all of her time around dragons. Cassie finds solace and fulfillment in the company of dragons, whom she believes possess wisdom and beauty that surpasses that of humans. Her moral compass seems to navigate a gray area, as she believes that the ends justify the means when it comes to getting what she wants. Mainly living in isolation from society, Cassiopeia's fascination with dragons has only deepened over time, as has her hatred for people.
In her pursuit of knowledge, she traveled to remote corners of the world, creating friends and even more enemies along the way. Unfortunately, she is not known for her social skills and often tends to make awkward jokes or unintentionally offend others with her blunt honesty. Despite her struggles with social interactions, Cassie's abnormal connection to dragons and dedication to protecting them remains unwavering. Even whilst born without magic she sees herself as a guardian of these great creatures, willing to go to great lengths to ensure their safety and save them from the hands of "cruel humans."
Her goals remain unclear as of yet, however she has never aimed to walk the black and white path of good.

Posting this here because I can’t for the life of me figure out how to make a side blog. Fanart for @rhapsodyinviridescentgold from their work, Nothing Gold Can Stay
Specifically the scene that made me laugh and then panic because I ended up knocking my glass over.
