Tumblr live was gone for so long for me! Why did it suddenly come back now? Why was there a video button in the middle of my user bar? Why did I have to unsnooze and resnooze to get it to go away? Who the fuck asked for this feature? Because not a single user I know or have ever talked to wants or wanted this feature @staff .

So to my understanding Snooze Tumblr Live on mobile as a toggle IS working, for those confused. The issue is that Tumblr has changed what that toggle controls. Not only has it switched from 7 days snoozed to 30 days snoozed, but it has also changed *what* exactly is being snoozed.

If you look at the wording, it specifically says you toggle to snooze it “from your dashboard”. I take this to mean that what you are actually snoozing now is Tumblr Live video recommendations popping up at the top of your dashboard feed. What you seemingly can’t snooze anymore is the icon on your taskbar.

They have changed this function so that the icon will stay there on the bottom of the screen from now on, and all you are snoozing is recommendations on your dashboard tab.

So yeah, it sucks.

is the idea that as a compromise to only having to toggle off tumblr live once a month, you now have this permanent tumblr live icon regardless of ur setting choice stuck to the bottom in the middle of everything in the hopes that i click on it accidentally anyways even though it's clear i don't want it or? where is the NO 100% STOP GIVING ME THIS SHIT I DON'T ACCEPT YOUR POLICIES AND LITERALLY COULD NOT CARE LESS ABOUT TUMBLR LIVE AND WILL NEVER BE INTERESTED IN THIS TYPE OF FEATURE OR FORMAT.

@zingring @photomatt @humans idk how many feedback requests people have to cut tumblr for "no" to just be a valid response here. ppl aren't dumb and see u inching over the line trying to force this on them despite the snooze choice.

what, are there so many ppl snoozing and such a low adoption rate that you know you need to trick users into using it so you can "make number go up" or? 🙄

Has snoozing TumblrLive on mobile stopped working for anyone else, or is it just me? And yes, I've toggled it back and forth several times, as well as force quit the app and restarted the app, several times.

stayed up super late last night with friends doing halloween stuff (getting drunk and spilling tea) knowing full well that i had to get up early today to go to a quince out of town . i am awake against my will and regretting many decisions

Let me be clear. that is my natural habitat #i regret rsvping for this quince that happens halloween weekend which just so happens to apparently be the busiest weekend of my goddamn #life. im exhausted from a week’s worth of lack of sleep and i am also no where near done with three of my monday deadlines #and i am losing an entire day (?) of work to this quince.#also it’s halloween weekend i should be getting drunk and looking hot😭😭😭😭#instead i am in the passenger seat of my father’s truck attempting to pretend i am alive #he called me this morning to say how far away he was from my house #but i missed the call because i kept on pressing snooze because. Obvious Reasons. and when i saw that he called #i called him back and he was like ‘im ten minutes from your house’ bitch i hadn’t even packed for the night yet. i was still fully in bed #i feel like if i close my eyes for too long im going to have a category five sleep incident. whatever that means #i think i forgot to pack a bra? fucking. i don’t know #i brought my computer so that i could possibly work but there’s absolutely no charger to speak of in #this vicinity. fuck. and uhhhhh i look like death but the only makeup i have is a singular eyebrow pencil #and the remnants of my eyeliner from last night. also the fake blood still in my fingernails #speaking of fake blood i bloodied my shit up for real last night which was very high risk high reward for me #the blood was four bucks from walmart and said that it stained skin and i was like #what a perfect product to cover my face and body in the day before i go to a family function #it ended up working out because i looked fucking good and i took a shower before i went to sleep #(did NOT check how i looked before i went to bed so this morning when i looked in the mirror and say i was blood-free it was a miracle)#but anyway. yeah. i want to pass out

what's crab day?

oh my gosh LOL I’ll see if I can find the post but basically you know how whenever a horrible person dies the dancing crab video will circulate? well tumblr decided to make merch of the crabs (despite it making no sense) and you can even “gift” crabs to other users and what they do I don’t know. so one user was like “you guys tumblr is $10 million in debt what if we all gifted each other a bunch of crabs so the site can stay up and maybe they’ll even fix the things we hate 👉🏾👈🏾🥺” (where they got that number I have no clue) and tumblr being tumblr made merch of THAT and the day came and passed and nothing changed. things actively got worse if you think about it

#I wanna say this was June/Julyish and prev tags were still semi functional and you could still actually snooze the live feature #and look where we are now.
